I love the 'Taken By The Sully's' series with all my heart ❤️ I have freshly found it today, binged read it and am happily waiting for the next part patiently! 😁

Anyway, I was writing to ask some dumb (but burning questions) and I hope I articulate myself correctly 🤧

- number one being, how tall is the reader roughly? We know that she was very tall for a human kid because of her mother's exposure to pandora logically, but she is still called Tiny by the navi around her. I'm imagining somewhere around six feet, where she is tall for a human but 3 feet short of the roughly 9 feet navi. Or is she average height and simply had a massive growth spurt in the beginning of her life?

-number two, what exactly is she wearing? Is it regular military issue clothes (safari shorts, super short shorts, long sleeves, tank tops) In the last chapter we know she wears human clothes (which was kinda unexpected but I thought it was an interesting part of her character, since though the story she focuses on relinquishing her human-ness to be accepted I thought that she would wear navi clothes even if she felt uncomfortable in the beginning, if she felt like the tribe (and maybe even neytiri) would accept her more if she looked a little less human. But as stated before I like this detail because to me it still shows that implicitly that she feels that there is still a divide between her and the navi. My long winded interpretation is that she is perceived and probably perceives herself as a human demon who is definitely not attractive in navi standards (at least not at first glance) and maybe inwardly feels a little awkward participating in a cultural custom like dress where the goal is to accentuate the strength and beauty of the navi (1 she would have felt awkward looking pretty when she she strives to make she skills known or 2 since she still frequents the sky camps it probably would be weird walking around in navi clothes (more covering from human clothes would be more versatile) or 3 she simply feels like it wouldn't make her look beautiful)

I think it would be super cute if Tarsem would make the effort to tell her how all around attractive he finds her, regardless if she feels comfortable wearing the navi clothes. It's probably not something that she's not used to hearing, especially someone that she's close with (in a serious manner at least)

Any way I'm rambling because I feel like there is so much to dive into with this series❤️ keep up your amazing work! Apologies for the work avalanche!

i keep the reader's appearance vague so everyone can picture them as they like, but yes, she is meant to be taller than an average human due to her mutations! tuk is 5'7" and spider is 6'3", so reader definitely falls within that range at least, but is probably on the taller side with the potential of being taller than spider by a bit.

disclaimer: all of these references are meant for inspiration only — i don't have a clear picture of what she wears/looks like in my head to avoid putting specific looks onto the reader. she wears whatever you think she wears based on the descriptions i provide, but hopefully this helps set the vibe!!

when jake and neytiri first took her in, she was two years old (about to turn three). they did dress her in omaticaya clothing at this time. james cameron said he based the na'vi on a number of marginalized peoples, drawing inspiration from maori, african, and native american cultures. i went on a deep dive into each and found the most similarities between traditional maori and polynesian clothing. just looking at images like this this this and this you can really see the influence, especially with the loincloths and tops made with flowers, grass, and leaves. for comparison, here are some na'vi outfits from concept art, the game, and the movies: this this this and this

anyways this is all leading up to this point: when i picture baby reader, i picture her in something similar to this or this. as she grew up, it evolved to smth like this. i couldn't find many na'vi references, but here are some anyway: this and this. hopefully i'm making sense so far ... T-T

around 11 years old, she stopped wearing na'vi clothing for the reasons you describe. 1) she's deeply insecure about her body — when she puts on na'vi clothing, she feels like she's wearing a costume and that inherently makes her feel uncomfortable/awkward, like she's pretending to be one of them rather than actually belonging to the group and 2) she doesn't have the same build as the na'vi, so a lot of the clothes they make don't fit her/serve their purpose ... if that makes sense? like you mentioned that their clothes accentuate the strength and beauty of the na'vi, which she doesn't have, so in her mind she wouldn't do the clothing justice.

and when i mentioned 'sky people' clothing i didn't mean the military clothing the lab guys wear... i just meant something like this or this or this or this or this ... human fabrics & articles of clothing in a way that supports her movement through the forest. because again, she's abnormal by human standards so they don't have clothes for her — she has to kind of make her own outfits with what she has. she leans towards human materials over na'vi materials because of her insecurities and belief that she isn't supposed to be wearing those things.

and yes, tarsem will definitely make the effort to get her to wear na'vi clothing despite her protests because he doesn't see anything weird about it!

the iwakura family finally arrives in tokyo! and with that, we are gifted not only with a cute and light chapter, but one that shows the sisters' maturity.

i love when sensei brings us a really light and fun chapter after many heavy ones. i feel that this balance is a characteristic that i really like in her writing, because it makes the reader even more engaged, since the balance between the serious and the fun is very welcomed.

whenever we see mitsumi's family, it becomes very clear why her personality is always so welcoming and respectful. she grew up with people who transmit so much warmth and love, who still do everything they can to be close to her in her most important moments. and the way they brag about her is very cute!! it is very clear how proud they feel for mitsumi.

the key point of this chapter for me is mitsumi's sisterhood with maharu. it's been a while since we last saw how the two of them interact. i really like seeing how mitsumi connects with the whole family, but i like even more seeing her acting like the older sister, the responsible one, the "coolest sister in the world", as she wants to be seen.

the way maharu's growth was told is very, very cute. in chapter 52, we see maharu struggling with many different feelings. there is jealousy and envy of her sister who, in her eyes, has been receiving constant attention from her parents and really believes that mitsumi is the favorite because she is a great student. but there is also the lack of having her big sister by her side, the emptiness she leaves every time she has to go back to tokyo. and this makes her end up taking this confusion out on the biggest cause of her problems, in her eyes: mitsumi.

maharu is just a pre-teen, with all her feelings burning up ready to explode. it's normal for her to see her sister as an inspiration, but also as the enemy who abandoned her/whom her parents prefer more. and that's one of the reasons why this reunion is even cuter. it's cute to see maharu opening up and letting herself be carried away by her age. there's a lot to see, a lot of places she saw online to visit. now, tokyo is no longer the city that stole her sister, but rather a completely new world to be explored!!

without even knowing it, maharu had a first day very similar to her sister, who also got lost on her first day in the big city and needed to be saved. i think this little callback and coincidence is really amazing, because it creates even more of a connection between the sisters.

and of course we can't forget to mention mitsumi's growth and maturity.

it's not just in this chapter that we can see how much mitsumi has changed since the beginning of the story. she has been winning us over more and more with her growing empathy, her emotional intelligence and her courage to always take risks, try new things and find herself in the world. so much so that, as soon as she found out what had happened to maharu, she didn't hesitate to take the lead and explore harajuku in search of her sister.

the scene of maharu looking at her older sister's back and the panel showing them walking hand in hand demonstrates how mitsumi has been growing before our eyes, but without losing her essence. on the contrary: with each passing year, she has been getting to know herself even more and discovering sides of herself to be explored. and i think it's really cute how she acts like a "super cool" sister without even trying.

it's hard not to fall in love with a character as beautiful as mitsumi. i really like seeing how her family works, how she relates to them, how she was raised. she has a lot of the affection of her parents, the curiosity of her brother kippei, the innocence of maharu and the strength of her grandmother. and she shows gratitude for all this love that was given to her in an even more beautiful way: by sharing it with everyone around her.

the change of scenery was a great choice. we were able to travel back to mitsumi’s hometown a lot of times and see how she behaves there, but now we’re about to see a grown up mitsumi that has taken tokyo with her own hands. she’s the one who needs to be in front row and show her family her day to day life, her favorite places and how we adjusted she is. it’s her time to shine, to be cool, to be the big sister her siblings love and look up to so much. 

i really hope we’ll be able to see them interacting with mitsumi’s friends once again and maybe see nao joining them. i really hope she does, because it would be beautiful to see her watching mitsumi as the responsible student council president, because she followed mitsumi’s growth in the big city very closely. and maybe, juuuuust maybe, we can have families interacting with each other? that would be fun as well!

another month, another beautiful chapter!! so excited to see what this new arc has in store for us. i bet it will be a rollercoaster, changing constantly from dark to light chapters. we’ll see!

Still Head Over Heels, But Let's Talk Serena & AmourShipping Honestly

Hey Poké-fans! 👋 So, yeah, I'm a huge Serena and AmourShipping fan. Like, heart-eyes emoji times a million. ❤️ But being a true fan means you can see the things you love with an honest lens, right? And as much as I adore Serena and her bond with Ash, there are definitely some things I've scratched my head about over the years.

First off, while I loved her journey as a Performer, I really wish we saw Serena dive into more battles. Being a strong trainer isn't just about battling, absolutely! But seeing her take on more challenges in that arena would have been awesome for showing her growth and proving that she shouldn't be underestimated. Imagine her with a powerful battler like an Absol – maybe even a shiny one that could Mega Evolve?! That would have been epic! ✨

Just imagine Serena with a Rhyperior — it’d be the perfect way to show her versatility and honor her mother, Grace. It would prove she’s not someone to be underestimated. If Dawn has a powerhouse like Mamoswine, why not give Serena a tank of her own? There's real strength in beauty, and the Pokégirls have shown time and again that they can be both elegant and formidable.

And speaking of Showcases… look, I enjoy the performance aspect, the creativity, and the connection with her Pokémon. But sometimes they did feel a little… repetitive? I can't lie. I often wished they had a bit more of the competitive edge and strategic depth of the old Contests. Just my two cents! 🤷🏻‍♂️

While I truly love Serena’s bond with Ash, it’s always felt just a little one-sided. I wish he had remembered her instantly when they reunited after all those years—it would've made their connection feel deeper. I really wanted to see more of their relationship develop, not just in the present, but through meaningful flashbacks to their childhood. Imagine how powerful it would've been to explore how Serena's move to Kalos with her mom impacted them both—it could’ve added so much emotional weight to their story.

Also, remember Serena's natural athleticism from her Ryhorn racing practice? I always thought it would have been so cool to see her incorporate some of that into her performances or even her training! Maybe some amazing gymnastic-inspired moves? It felt like a little potential that wasn't fully explored.

Finally, while I was over the moon to see Serena return in Journeys, I can't help but feel a little let down by how it was handled. I was really hoping for more substantial interaction with Ash, a proper reunion that truly showcased their growth and the strength of their bond. And the missed opportunity for Serena and May to connect?! Seriously, writers? Two amazing, supportive girls with their own unique journeys meeting and interacting would have been GOLD! 😭 And showing more of their found friendship!

Don't get me wrong, my love for Serena and AmourShipping is still strong! These are just the thoughts of a dedicated fan who sees the potential for even more greatness. I respect everyone's opinions, even those who aren't Serena fans, but these are just some of my personal wishes and minor gripes.

Max's boyfriend is an asshole. You've hated all of them, yeah, but this one pisses you off more than even the others did. Well, maybe except for Arturo. That 36 year old creep was the worst. You watched as Max was mesmerised by the man's supposed maturity and the thrill of dating someone so much older but she still 'clicked with'. Every time you saw them together, it infuriated you. You hated hearing Max go on about how he made her feel special when, in reality, he was just manipulating her. He wasn’t interested in who Max truly was. Not like you are.

From your spot on her bed, you watch as she paces back and forth, phone clutched tight in her hand.

Max had invited you over as she got ready for her date, pouring her heart into her makeup's little details, making you pick between her outfit options again and again. She looked beautiful in everything. Obviously. But now, an hour later than when he said he'd show up, he's looking like a no-show.

"Alright, come here," you say, holding your arms out. Max looks way too anxious and he doesn't deserve that. Not a bit of it.

"Wait, let me just-" Max taps out another text - a "where r u? lol" - her bottom lip tucked between her teeth.

You see her hand start to shake, her knuckles whitening. He's left her on read again. The look of frustration and hurt that etches across her pretty face makes your heart ache. You've seen this scenario play out with every boyfriend she's had, but this one infuriates you most. He never seems to appreciate her, always making her feel small and ignored. It's chipped away at the self-esteem and growth that you've watched Max painstakingly earn.

Max finally sits down beside you with a heavy sigh, her shoulders slumped in defeat. “I don’t get it,” she murmurs, eyes fixed on her phone screen. “Why can’t he just reply? Even an excuse would be something. It’s not like I’m asking for much.”

It's like when her dad couldn't be bothered showing up for her graduation. Max was shattered. You hate seeing her ask for less and less when you know she deserves everything. And you resent the men who can't even be bothered giving her the bare minimum. That they don't even know what they have.

Your hand reaches out to grasp hers, stilling its shaking. She's warm. Soft. The touch sends a shiver down your spine. You're half hopeful that she realises you've always been here and half shit-scared that she'll finally figure out how much you care. So you avoid her eyes. You hate seeing her like this.

"I'll break his fingers next time. Give him a real reason not to text back," you say, hoping the bitterness sounds more like a joke.

She laughs. You'd do anything for that laugh.

But then she looks at you, eyes filled with unshed tears, and it breaks your heart. "Maybe I'm just too much," Max whispers. Her honest fear, not just in this relationship but in life. "Too needy, too intense. Maybe he's right to ignore me. I mean, that'd explain the others too."

But you don't let her joke this away. Your hand squeezes hers, a silent showcase that you're here. That you've never ran. That she's not too much, not for you, not for everyone else that loves her. "No." She doesn't know how awesome she is because of shitty guys like Arturo, or Harvey, or her fucking dickhead of a father. "You're fucking amazing, Max. You're passionate. You care so deeply. Everyone who is loved by you is so lucky." 

Max squeezes your hand, offering a small, grateful smile. “Thanks,” she says softly. "I don't know what I'd do without you."

For a blissful moment, you pretend those words mean more than they do. Pretend that she'll finally see you as more than a friend, that she finally gets it. You’ve always been there for her, a constant in the chaos of her relationships and self-doubt. When the moment passes, you swallow that bitter pill that Max doesn’t know how deeply you care. You hate every one of her boyfriends, not just because they’re not good enough for her, but because none of them see her the way you do. They don’t see her strength, her vulnerability, or the way her eyes light up when she talks about something she loves.

You take a deep breath, deciding to take a risk. “Max, you deserve better." Sincerity, for once, rather than a joke so you could more easily brush it off as platonic. "Like, you're incredible." You gulp. These next words, you'd normally hold them back but she needs to hear them. You can see her vulnerability in those big brown eyes of hers. "I hate seeing how he makes you doubt that."

Max looks at you, an unsure, fragile expression crossing her face. Like she's apprehensive to believe it. “Do you really think so?”

“I know so,” you reply, your voice steady. “And one day, you’ll see it too.”

In that moment, Max’s phone buzzes, and her eyes dart to it as a reflex. You see the flash of disappointment as she realises it’s not him. But then she looks back at you, smiles, and throws her phone on the bedside table.

"Yeah, fuck him. I don't need him to have fun." Max's arms go to wrap around you, head nuzzling into your chest. "Thank you."

Her fingers tangle in your hair, playing with the soft strands of it. She's in your arms just like you've always been desperate for her to be. It aches. But it's the best you've ever felt. A niggling worry tells you that she'd hate you for wanting more. For thinking about kissing her right now.

"You're welcome, Maxie," you say. Because this is enough. Being her friend could be enough no matter how desperately, how passionately you burn for her.

Already dressed up, Max drags you along on a day out.

Every smile makes your heart skip. You love how you could always cheer her up, love how much Max brightens up every room she's in. You two walk hand in hand to a nearby park, one of Max’s favourite spots. The sun is shining, and the air is fresh, and you hope it's the perfect pick-me-up to help her. Strolling along the winding paths, the best thing about loving your best friend is that you can talk about anything and everything. You make her laugh with your terrible impressions of people you both know. The sound of her laughter is like music to your ears. You try not to think about how none of those men could treat her like you would.

Maybe, just maybe, she’ll start to understand how much she means to you. And until then, you’ll keep being there for her, hoping that one day she’ll realise you’ve been the one all along. You know you'd never say a word though.

𓂂♡⠀kinda 𝓁ate, but I was waiting for everything to calm down after New Year’s. I truly don't know where to begin, but I think the proper thing to do is to say thank you for this amazing year. I started here back in April and made amazing friends and moots. Due to several things that happened both here and outside this platform, I left Tumblr in October because I definitely needed it and came back in December.

2024 taught me so much, helping me discover things about myself and the world around me. It was a year filled with challenges, growth, and moments of joy. I learned to embrace change, let go of things that no longer served me, and hold on tightly to the people and passions that matter most, and oh god let's not talk about my friends!

Sadly, not everything has been jolly. The woman who was set on fire, the Jeju planes, and the tragedies that shook us all are events that will forever leave their marks. Moments like those are the ones that make me reflect deeply on the fragility of life and the importance of kindness, compassion, and standing up for what’s right. But there's still humanity, and it show with how the world unite this past week.

As we step into 2025, I want to carry forward the lessons I’ve learned, the friendships I’ve built, and the creative energy that Tumblr inspires in me. hm, not entirely sure what you mean by canon Avenday! :0 i try to stay canon compliant in all my hcs, characterizations and such actually. even in aHWS it was all a dream that Sunday thought Aven wanted. i guess i do make them fluffier in some settings with the assumption that they somehow got together, but thats just how shipping is :3

BUT if you mean present-avenday, then..... oh i do have Thoughts.

They both love this game, this waltz - the thrill of having a rival.

I think one of my favorite revelations in 2.7 was the fact that Sunday was in fact bluffing when he said he'd "kill" Aventurine. it was always pretty obvious since 2.1, and even more so in 2.2 (when we learnt of Sunday's true motive of creating a Sweet Dream paradise, and when Dan Heng said the Eternal Centurion assimilates people into the Harmony, the fact it's only used on the Antimatter Legion even if violent).

so by removing these stakes the playing field becomes.. a chess board. they're always trying to outsmart eachother. this never changes, even in Aventurine's team join voiceline for him it's like they're witnessing eachother's turns, which piece they're moving next, what the next plan is.

i think it's exhilarating for them, and for us as the viewers.

a constant theme in avenday is how theyre birds of a feather. like think about it, they could have just switched Aventurine's mom in his flashback scenes and the message would still get across, but instead they gave him a sister. just like Sunday and his sister's relationship is a big focus. why is that, if not to further cement their parallels?

and why is it that Aventurine of all characters was mentioned in Sunday's character arc climax? in Penacony everyone is a foil to everyone (Acheron-Aventurine, Aventurine-Firefly, Sunday-Robin, Sunday-Mikhail, etc) but of all of them... it's Aventurine that was chosen to show Sunday's growth.

and it's also Sunday in 2.1 who kickstarted Aventurine's introspection on how long he's been surviving, how quick it is to let go (and just stay in the Eternal dream) (of course Aven rejects this, by embracing "Death" and by doing so his Life). they had an undeniable impact on eachother.

3. The future and its possibilities as vast as the cosmos

I think they should meet again, will meet again, and it will be glorious. Sunday still has beef with the IPC (someone's going to collect his 'debt'...) and Aventurine's still not done with Oswaldo stuff, nor is he a visitor in the Express. i'd say the chances are pretty high. and even if not........ I literally am swimming in the crumbs the game has given us with these two. they're so underrated man like the more you think about it the more they work so well together. i never want them to separate <3 I'll keep shipping these two until they reach a conclusion in their ongoing respective character arcs <3

Chapters 372 & 373 opinions and analysis

Hello everyone! I'm late to the party, but I promised and simply had to give my opinion on these Silvas chapters in addition to live comments which you can find here.

I'm blaming these on my coloring and an art related to this chapter.

Let me start with saying that these chapters were all I ever wanted and more from Black Clover.

If you follow me you realise that I focus on the Silva family a lot. I actually got into this fandom, because I started writing my fic Paper Hearts, which besides being a steamy and dramatic romance is a story of the Silvas redemption and focuses on Nozel, Nebra and Solid.

I wanted to dive deeper into their characters and show them as more than just assholes, give them some depth and this is exactly what Tabata did in these two chapters.

I'm proudly admitting that my headcanons for Nebra and Solid's reasons for hating Noelle were correct 😁

And on to specific opinions 😉 I'll go per character and at the end summarise them as a four

Noelle

Simply seeing Noelle put up an amazing fight against Acier made me so happy.

"I'm not weak anymore."

Noelle had said long ago and she is correct. Our girl grew, literally spread her wings, broken her cage, threw out the keys I'm citing Song Queen of Kings by Alessandra which I associate with Noelle a lot.

She had shown us her growth and here a bit of inspiration from Asta with the not giving up trope.

Later we can see Noelle continue to care for her siblings during the fight.

The apology scene and Noelle's reaction I will go over below Nebra and Solid's.

Solid and Nebra

We see their povs which I love, finally getting to know what's going on in their heads.

Finally giving them the courage to join in, to help Noelle.

I'm proud of them. I'm so proud of them.

I knew they had it in them and I'm so happy I was right. Just seeing these panels made me want to cry happy tears.

More then that they want a FRESH START. To rebuild their family. Took you guys long enough (in PH this happens faster 😂) but you're finally here.

Solid and Nebra support Noelle with her powerful magic which is hard to control, something they would make bully her for earlier.

I think Tabata is showing us an amazing contrast, as a show of growth.

These two panels finally give us her motivation for mistreating Noelle. Jealousy.

Once again I'm patting myself on the shoulder for having this headcanon.

I'm proud of her to finally admitting that, not only to Noelle but to herself.

Solid

Solid once again jealousy, low confidence.

But he admitted it, admitted his weakness.

Nebra and Solid

They apologised, finally.

Beautiful panel, of which I've seen many beautiful colorings and I might make my own version.

We're not in the Noelle tab, but I wanted to speak about her answer here.

She's not saying "oh it's nothing," neither "yes I forgive you for everything," or "I hate you!"

Noelle simply accepts the fact. They apologised.

This shows so much of her maturity, the peace she made with her situation, life and growth. Noelle is somebody to look up to.

Nozel

Once Nozel was healed by our lovely Pablo and the best girl Kahono he managed to get back and join his siblings. One stubborn bird he is.

This panel I want to focus on, because Nozel is finally GUIDING NOELLE. I wondered many times what would have happened if instead of pushing her away, guided by his guilt and emotional shackles he had guided her. During the fight with Megicula Nozel realised that they needed to grow stronger together. Now he is finally showing it.

Nozel learnt trust.

but also so much more by changing from his sophisticated ever changing style to pure defence, fighting hand in hand, which we had never seen him do before.

Also this quote right here is a perfect reference to when Acier asked Nozel to protect his siblings with her magic. Nozel remembers and uses his mother's words against her.

That's why later we're getting that epic panel with him saying "Isn't it right mother?"

I decided to speak a bit about his armor design and the spell itself.

We're keeping in the Silver spells trope that Nozel has, which I love. We also already saw Nozel "strengthen" his body with mercury during the fight with Kivin, so there were some hints and excited people about Nozel possibly getting an armor as well. This is certainly a hot version, even though he looks a bit like the Silver Surfer (check out this amazing and slightly hilarious art).

Nozel's armor hurts him.

I always head canoned that even though he had some immunity to his magic and with his amazing control he would protect himself, it still very much affected him, brought him pain.

I can talk a bit more about Mercury magic and it's symbolism but this might be for another post if you'd be interested. A short version I'd like to say how it's POISON, symbolising the mental poisoning of Nozel which has been happening since Acier's death.

Here it hurts him, but in a way as he says it will allow him to atone, which will help him rebuild. Clearing mental poison with physical poison.

Nozel had amazing character development and I can proudly say that he is my favorite Black Clover character, with his depth, complexity, resting bird face 😂 and all of the quirks which make him great.

Acier

Acier was strong and I'm glad they showed her this way. We got to see her amazing spells and how if she was to be fought one by one they would probably loose. Acier was one of the strongest and now amped with her paladin powers she needed to be great.

The fact that she got the water attribute didn't impress me, maybe it was to show how she's now like all of her children. At least to me it did not hit hard.

I loved how despite being changed, she continued to talk to her children, point things out. Remember this is not real Acier, more like a shadow of her but I'm glad she was still showing these sides, because Solid and Nebra could say their goodbyes as well.

This panel was everything.

Acier should be satisfied, hey that part of her which is still their loving mother is probably very happy that she used the "common enemy" trope to get them together. Jokes aside she is a great mother, who could see her children surpass her and be proud of them.

Her last words were EVERYTHING.

The siblings know they made their mother proud. They can put behind them the insecurities, everything which has been weighing the family down.

Acier's first death destroyed the family as she left the great legacy, to which none of them felt good enough to live up to.

Acier's second "death" brought her children together.

I brought these ending panels together to show you how similar they are. Notice how the siblings are standing at specific spots.

They were finally brought together.

"But you've finally become a family, haven't you?"

Yes and this is the takeaway from these chapters.

Each one of them grew, showed what they were made off and made a step to rebuild, to be a family. I'm proud of them.

Tabata-sensei I'm extremely grateful that you gave my most precious characters the ending they deserved, that you came up with their story and their development. It took time, but it was so worth the wait and I'm glad it was not rushed.

To sum up, these two were my favorite Black Clover chapters and I will reread them many times.

WELCOME 2025!

[ As per tradition, here is our New Years post! Happy New Year everyone! u v u /////

2024 was another amazing year! Woah I had such a lovely time. Did many fun things and filled my life with love and gratitude. Also personal growth towards becoming the kind of person I want to be.

Writing wise, 2024 was weak. I did what I said, and didn't prioritize roleplaying. However, I wasn't able to fill my writing time with actual writing. I chose to do other things instead. I don't regret how I spent my time, but I would like to have more of a result to show. My word-count ended at 156 000 words ( 70k for Nnoitra ). A huge drop from 2023. It was an important lesson for me. It showed me that I am way more productive when I set myself stricter goals, instead of relying on my inspiration only to carry me.

That brings me onto the plans for 2025!

MONTHLY WRITING GOALS. I need monthly milestones ( realistic ones ) to work towards and complete. Without any concrete goals I don't push myself enough.

CONSISTENCY. My best writing year was the year I wrote every day, and so I really wanna push myself towards something similar. I also want to try and be more active across my blogs ( I say this every year ) - I've downsized my blog-count from 6 to 4, so I hope that'll help.

FINDING A SHIP FOR NNOITRA! This has been a repeating goal the past few years. I really miss writing a ship for him. I did put effort into finding a ship for him in 2024, so I'll continue my efforts. I hope 2025 is the year he falls in love!

These are my writing-related goals. I have many other goals for 2025. Mostly related to working on procrastination, mindset and productivity. I'm always excited for a new year, and the past few years have been so amazing! I'm blessed to have a beautiful life. Cal, gods I have so much to say about them but they could honestly be their own post by themselves /pos. Also very worried that his art got stolen but it was clear it wasnt- ANYWAYS! When I first found him, i was so ready to just give up on art -before my digital art era- because when i stared at my art all i saw was bland strokes of a pencil that could never be compared to what others had made, but when I found his comic that was FULLY TRADTIONAL I was stunned. I showed it to everyone I knew, whether they knew loz/lu or not, i needed them to see the talent and beauty I found. And he was the beginning of me starting to relearn to love traditional art again, and how much more beautiful it was to me compared to any digital piece

ARIA!!! I was in awe of her cute style- and i saw her make art for Sacred realm and i was HOOKED! Genuinely, I was like 'oop- have to be friends with her now' and though we dont talk that much, im constantly impressed with her growth even when she thinks its trash. That girl has SO much potential, and im estatic to see what she does with it. OH AND THE ART SHES MADE FOR FAROLA?! **MWAH!!!** Honestly she made me love Farola again-

Major, an unrated GEM, one of the most encouraging, heartfelt and creative person ive met on this site. She is, and will always be, someone I look to when I need a push or when im unsure about doing something (like this!) cause I know that she will never cease her amazing ability to encourage and inspire those around her.

Shade and Mossy, two people I sadly dont talk to much anymore, but were apart of one of the most important parts of my life so far. LBFAD is the most inspiring series I have ever watched and here is why…

Although Love Between Fairy and Devil (LBFAD) only caught my eye on Netflix in December 2023, I’m so glad it did and that I didn’t miss out on this stunning and thought-provoking masterpiece. It is the most inspiring series I have ever watched for many reasons. Aesthetically, I found the beautiful 4K production quality as enjoyable as high-budget productions such as Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones. I frequently felt the need to pause and admire the well-designed sets, and exquisitely detailed costumes of even minor characters. The acting is superb across the board, and the leads act and respond very naturally to each other. The long hair of male characters is especially well-done, falling naturally with subtle highlights and looks real. All these details breathe life into this fantasy world and make it very realistic.

Every line of each song from the phenomenal OST is brimming with hidden meanings related to the series, adding lots of additional context! The artwork created for the opening and ending sequences is also full of meaning (minor spoilers ahead). Take, for example, the last picture where the OTP are sitting on a boat in the Oblivion River, the junction between their two tribes, the male lead has removed his crown and hence his responsibilities at least for the moment, and they are watching the sunrise together for the rest of eternity after the close of the series (sigh!)

Every single character of note in the series goes through profound character growth, the only exception being the abstract ultimate villain Taisui. Even the secondary villains and dictator of Shuiyuntian have grown and changed their perceptions by the end. It made me believe that anyone is capable of opening their minds and bettering themselves. Both lead and side characters are repeatedly faced with overwhelmingly bleak choices and heartbreaking challenges, especially in the last ten episodes. Yet every time, they show courage, sacrifice and selfless love that is amazing and very inspiring.

It is rare to find this kind of poignance in any production. I used to find Game of Thrones inspiring due to Daenerys freeing the world of slavery…until Season 8 happened. LBFAD tops Game of Thrones in this regard by freeing two distinct realms from conflict. The actions of the OTP break through a hundred millenia of mutual hatred and relentless conflict between their people with no end in sight, to create a new dawn of lasting peace. LBFAD reminds me of Lord of the Rings in terms of its cinematographic beauty and themes of never losing hope and prevailing over overwhelming odds. However, the stronger focus of LBFAD on the lead couple’s development and on creating multidimensional villains and side characters made it, for me, more engaging to watch.

The world-building and depth of characters has many layers in LBFAD, to the extent that much of the context was clear to me only in retrospect on rewatching the series and on deep reflection. The fast pace of the series also means that a lot of action occurs off-screen in between scenes. There are no filler scenes, there is no room for them. Every scene adds new plot twists and depth to characters, making the series highly addictive.

I am not a native mandarin speaker, and came to realise how beautiful the language is only on encountering LBFAD and its OST. It inspired me to learn mandarin, which makes rewatching the series highly enjoyable as I am able to pick up new nuances. I’m embarrassed to be late to watch LBFAD after its release in August 2022, but have thoroughly enjoyed the posts on Tumblr from fellow fans, including enthralling artwork, meta and links to fanfiction. It has encouraged me to post on Tumblr myself. I have started to post my interpretations of artwork, mandarin names, xianxia concepts, and story-format reflections on each episode. I am thrilled to be a part of this wonderful community!
