Hiya! What video games dovyou think would be the Octonauts favorite?

HMM that’s a hard one...I’m sure people have done these kinds of posts before with more accuracy in mind, so I’m just gonna be Indulgent if that’s okay >:3c

Captain Barnacles only plays video games with the team, and they HAVE to be motion based, so he LOVES Just Dance and 1-2 Switch n that kind of stuff.

Kwazii and Tweak have similar taste in games, mainly because they often play them together. Tweak made her own gaming console on par with an NES or SNES, so she usually plays high score-based games like Pac-Man. She doesn’t have the time to commit to RPGs, as much as she’d probably really enjoy them, but sometimes she’s willing to stay up late playing Super Mario World for the sake of not losing progress. She’d also play fighting games with Kwazii probably, and they would be his favourite, but ultimately she’s always better than him at whatever they play because gaming is her ELEMENT. So yeah, Kwazii’s a Smash Bros fan, but the only person that plays with him is Tweak, but she’s not always around. Pinto and Koshi are ABSOLUTELY willing to try and take him on as a duo when they visit though, hehehe.

Peso’s an Animal Crossing guy, or at least someone who enjoys those mobile games where you can check in daily and play for a good 20 minutes, so not hardcore in the SLIGHTEST, haha. He’s not even really committed or “good” at the games since he’s a busy guy and it’s not his Most prevalent hobby, but he finds them relaxing and cute. I’d want to believe Pinto is the reason why he’d play a little more sometimes and try out different things, though :)

DASHI IS THE RPG FAN. She 100% gives me Deltarune and Mother fan vibes. She loves a good story with pretty environments and compelling characters, and her and Koshi tend to bond over their favourites together. She would love to commit to a life sim game like Animal Crossing because of the aesthetics and appeal of building a community from the ground up, but she VERY easily ditches them unfortunately. She is a handheld console player by heart and she LOVES playing on her pink Nintendo 3DS BECAUSE I SAID SO!!! (also Koshi is a YKW fan and a M&L RPG fan she is JUST like me fr!!!!!!!)

Shellington is very hard for me to think of something for LMFAO 😭 he doesn’t strike me as a Gamer...but I think he’d take an interest in Minecraft because of the vast landscapes and all the creatures n stuff. He definitely likes to explore around and modify the environments with some more scientifically accurate elements, such as the animals and plants, but overall he just has fun experimenting with the logic of the world and seeing how it’s ecosystem works differently from the real world. He also builds models to show the crew and educate the Vegimals sometimes :3 BUT he plays Exclusively on Creative Mode and on Peaceful settings because the first time he played on survival without knowing the difference he almost had a panic attack once it became nighttime. Again, though, not much of a gamer, so it’s really only a once in a while thing he does once it crosses his mind.

As a bonus: Paani also isn’t much of a gamer, but Minecraft is something he’s interested in, much like Shellington. Though the difference is he absolutely LOVES the thrill of playing on Survival Mode. He isn’t much better at it, he is nowhere NEAR going to the Nether or fighting the Ender Dragon, but the nightly brawls he has with all the mobs is a lot of fun. Pinto joining is even BETTER. He’s a mobile player so he can play with him no matter where he is! >:3c

-He gave you back your cane and apologized, and asked why you use it. So when you explained that you had her because you were blind, he felt like a piece of trash for having treated you that way

-You got another scare when he said he was Hanako-San from the bathroom and got defensive again (It took him half an hour to convince you that he really was Hanako-San and not some pervert)

-You made your wish for him in exchange for being his assistant, now the two of you have created a special bond! Yay!

-A VERY special bond…so special that you created a loving relationship

-He's a sweetheart boyfriend, who doesn't stop teasing you and pulling your buttons to see you flushed in his hands

-Hanako helps you clean the bathroom sometimes and takes you to boundaries with him, but relax as he is protecting you at all times

5. How much writing do you get done in an average day?

It really depends! If I'm working on something with the intention to add more to it, it's probably anywhere from 100-1000 words over the course of a day (or sometimes a productive hour!), but if I'm feeling inspired or have a new idea, it could be somewhere closer to 2000+. Usually, it's the former, and some days I don't get anything done at all, but I'd say maybe an average of 600 words taking everything into account? I'm a slow writer haha, and sometimes that 600 gets split up into several different WIPs.

18. If you could collaborate with anyone, who would it be, and what would you write about?

@leonisdumbasallhell and I worked on some fun post-re8 stuff once upon a time--Life happened, so it stayed between us, but I had a lot of fun with that!! Technically @thebrandywine and I kinda sorta collaborated on two cakes together, but I never actually wrote my version haha. I would be down to do it again if the stars aligned on something and neither of us had a million WIPs or something, and I still frequently collaborate with a few different people to form ideas and talk over fics <333

So, remember when I (hypothetically) asked about writing a fic based on one of your Lily Evans fanart?

Well, it’s going great but fair warning, I may have added a bit of angst to the story. Since I’m a fan of angsty fics and it comes naturally to me when writing. However, it ends on a good note (it was supposed to be a drabble 2k words but now it’s roughly 7k words 🫢) because Lily deserves happiness, she’s just so amazing.

I will say that the fic is based on James’s pov. I actually wrote two drafts but ended going in this route with James. Not sure if that ever happens to you when drawing? It happens to me every time, by second draft is the one that ends up being shared.

Anyways, just wanted to let you know that it’s almost finished and I hope you know how much I love and appreciate that you share your artwork with us. It’s such a pleasure seeing your artwork and the amazing details/emotions you put into it. You always leave me speechless and it’s difficult to express my gratitude, because I feel like a broken record at times.

Also, funny thing happened when you posted a nsfw Jily art (the text message one) I was at work and my phone wanted to get me in trouble with my supervisor! Literally I have my brightness low, but it kept getting brighter each second. Like it was saying, “ you can’t dim the light between young love”

No matter how many times I tried to dim the brightness it was no use. My supervisor was walking up to me and I’m here struggling to exit out of tumblr and my phone freezes! Lily’s entire “personality” was on display on my screen and I couldn’t exit out!

So, there's two that I'm most excited about right now!

This one I'm writing on every day and I lie awake at night thinking about them. I've got this entire story mapped out, the first chapter is done. I plan on writing about 4 chapters and oh my god, I'm having the most fun working it all out. I came up with this story while doing the dishes and listening to San Francisco by Niall Horan and now I'm absolutely fucking obsessed. They're soulmates, they fall in love at first sight, followed by heartbreak and suffering, but there will always be a happy ending. Hopefully it'll be done soon!

He has to suck his cheeks between his molars and bite down hard to stop himself from cringing, because it really does sound insane, but he suddenly wants nothing more than for Alex to kiss him. He’s in a foreign country, in a place where he has all the privacy in the world. He’s alone, in the dark, under the stars, with a man so attractive it makes his skin prickle and he wants to be kissed. He wants to be swept off his feet. For once, Henry just wants to be something to someone.

This one here? This is my baby. FirstMarine will forever be my baby and this is the story in which I give Luke the happily ever after he deserves, even though he had to go through a lot of shit to get there. I've almost finished writing chapter 3, so this one is coming along nicely, but it's a bit of a slow burn, so it might take a while to finish it. Eeeee I could talk about this all day, haha! ♥

Luke ends up coming over almost every day, and if he’s not nestled under a blanket in Alex’s window seat with a book or his laptop and with Buddy at his feet, he’s texting Alex book recommendations or memes he finds funny. Alex has also discovered that Luke prefers tea over coffee, which means that he now owns a box full of various types of tea, sitting right beside his own coffee collection in the cupboard above the sink. Alex likes it; the fact that he’s not alone all the time anymore. He did make that choice consciously when he moved back to Austin - to concentrate on work and his own mental health for a while - but he hadn’t realized how much he missed having someone to share his brain worms with. He also likes Luke’s laugh when he says something especially silly. He doesn’t know why, but it feels like a unique thing to witness; like Luke doesn’t laugh like that all that often. He feels privileged to be exposed to it and he won’t admit it out loud, but it’s definitely the reason why he sometimes says silly things on purpose.

I am also incredibly exited about kinktober this year! I've got 3 stories finished, 2 halfway there and 9 more outlined, so it's gonna be hella good!

What’s something new that you tried in a fic this year? How did it turn out and would you do it again?

Yes there are a few things I'm doing newly! I wrote an actors fic for the first time, I wrote two fics focusing on dancing, and I liked that a lot! I also am writing a pirates fic right now, with seungin as a pairing which I haven't done yet in a full fic, and idk if I will write them again any time soon, but maybe yes! Who knows!

2. How many fics did you work on this year? (They don’t have to be finished or published!)

I published 15 fics this year, update my drabble collection, and I am writing another one right now! I also worked on a mermaid x alien fic but that didn't really work out the way I wanted to I abandoned that djnfkfdnhkj

3. What’s something you learned about yourself as a writer?

Tough question! I guess I learned even more that I like writing new things! I learned more to not really care about engagement as long as I'm having fun writing, and to really cherish people who read and comment on my works!!!

10. What fic made you feel the happiest to work on?

I loved working on everything, but I guess the happiest I was working on Can't you feel how much I love you? Because I had already planned that I'd write this one (it's a sort of part 2) and I loved exploring Jeongin and Felix as demigods, and of course I could really let everything out and self-project on ace Jeongin jdhfngkjfnh

11. What fic was the most satisfying to finish writing?

The most satisfying to finish I guess was Break a leg, not your heart because it was my longest work this year (42k)!

Titles are my nemesis in general and I don't really remember which ones I struggled with... Maybe A thread that joins together? It's a soulmate fic so the title does reflect that, but it was difficult to come up with kjfdnhkfjg

I don't reallllyyy remember anything in particular, only that I meant to write more enemies to lovers-ish in Finding each other's rhythm but the enemies part didn't really work out which was fine (and kind of expected from me tbh haha), and it didn't really change the story, it only made it so that it didn't have to be too long dkjnhk

Thank you so much for this. Truthfully I feel a bit guilty for my absence and sporadic appearances, since I know people and my lovely beta testers have been waiting, so I was beating myself up a bit haha but reading this has made me feel so much better. For a while, coming back to write felt like a chore but then recently something shifted and opening the Emberwood file felt so fun that I realized I missed the world and the characters really bad. I think part of my fear to return was that I convinced myself that the story is no longer worth the wait and whatever I have written is not worth leaving you guys in the air like this for so long. :(

I think, since I can't really go back to the activity that I was when I first started, I will drop chapters as I go and not make it a whole...Thing but try to do it casually. I feel, right now, it'll be less pressure on me as a whole. When things go back to normal, I can return back to how I was.

3. How would you describe your writing style?

I like to think of it as descriptive - that's what I go for at least, I don't know if it actually always works the way I want it, and sometimes it is a biiiiit too much, at least in the first drafts. But I love playing with language and concepts (it is quite literally my 9-5 job after all), so that's what I try to do in my writing (idk if descriptive is the right word by the way but i also can't think of anything else)

Also, I try to pack emotion into basically every paragraph I write... and sometimes I go overboard, in the way of "okay, we get what you're trying to say, please stop and move on"

(i hope this makes sense lol)

23. Dialogue or description?

Description all the way!! If I could write a fic without dialogue that people would like I 100% would. I love reading dialogue. I love reading banter. But for some reason, I just cannot do it! And I don't know why, but every time I try to write dialogue it just feels so forced and weird and unnatural, or simply too plain. Maybe because I find it hard to get a character's tone right?

Descriptions are easier. That's where I can play with words and feelings and just let myself get lost.

30. Describe the fic that almost happened, but then didn't.

Well, there's a few. But one of them was going to be either a short multi-chapter or a one-shot, and it was going to be like, the paparazzi really just going after Simon, not leaving him alone. Like they'd show up at his house etc. and he didn't want to tell Wille about it cause Wille would just worry so he didn't, and it was kind of going to explore how they would crack or survive under those circumstances? Being in the spotlight and all?

Anyways it was a fun idea but I didn't think it out much beyond this so it's probably not going to happen

hi, super unrelated to obey me BUTTTT i was wondering how you handle your request inbox? is that what it’s called? is it ask inbox? nvm you get my point… i think? idk i just imagine it’s very stressful, like do you chose a prompt that interests you first or do you go by the oldest first.

i like to think about how fun it would be to write stuff and posts about my interests — i even think it’d be fun to get requests. however, i also recognize that i don’t think i could handle it. as much as i’d want to write as a hobby, some part of me knows the moment i start getting requests, i will start viewing it more as a job. i bet there are asks that also bring motivation or inspiration but i’m not 100% sure.

i was just curious if you would be willing to give some insight or your personal experience. totally fine if you don’t want to or don’t know how to respond to this. thank you!

hello!! this is different from the stuff i usually get but I'm super happy to answer your questions and try to help out :)

not really sure what it's called either now that i think about it. i think i just call it my inbox?? idk haha. i rarely talk about my tumblr with anyone and actually don't even mention i write just to have to avoid explaining what exactly i write is to someone who doesn't know. the only two people who know are two of my best friends <333 love you guys since i know you might see this <3 although i will say mentioning that youre a tumblr writer always seems to kill the convo haha

usually, i work in the order i get them! right now, i've just made it into the beginning of feburary since i just have so many and i don't want people to feel like picking favorite because ultimately, anons are people who enjoyed my content enough to make a requests and i want to see that through, to let them feel that excitement that someone whos work they liked actually wrote their idea! some requests can be kinda hard to do sometimes, so i usually need more time to do those so i have time to dwell on the idea. but sometimes they just click and i have it done in less than twenty minutes! sometimes i do occasionally fast track a request if i'm very inspired or if it really speaks to me!

the amount of requests can get a little overwhelming at times, but it's so heartwarming to know that many people like the content i make. right now i have 77 unwritten i think? one day i'll make it through all of them but i don't think ill ever get back to 0 /pos

in order to continue writing it has to be fun for you!! it for sure should not feel like a job. i used to write back in 2020 because of all the extra time i had on my hands, and i lost the time to keep up, so in 2023, i migrated here to try and pick it up again. i'm a stem major (bio my beloved <3) and it's my passion but it leaves little room to be creative, so this is my outlet! i feel like it's a good way to express yourself if you couldn't otherwise. i was so excited when i got my first request! i still remember it clearly just because of how excited i was. it's fulfilling to make people happy with something as simple as words that came from my silly little brain

honestly i blew up much faster than i ever thought i would so i still feel like im all too new at this tumblr blog thing. i still learn new things about tumblr all the time, such as custom themes on desktop haha. i've had this account and have been writing since march of last year but i didn't really start to pick up steam until january of this year because i started posting daily to try and get through all my waiting requests just to like, explode probably because of the consistent posting, so if you are still interested in writing, for sure take it slow! if it's just for fun, don't worry and actually try not to be too consistent. if you want to grow quickly, consistency is key no matter what schedule you decide on.

if i get rude requests, which has only happened a few times now, i just don't do them because i don't want to reward that kind of behavior, even if the idea is magnificent. for sure lay out rules if you do plan to go ahead with writing. be firm with them! im not great at that lol. also remember that you aren't obligated to at all! you are the one choosing to be here and you only have to do the ones you want, or none if you choose not to take requests. i like them because it gives me ideas i wouldnt have before because it can be kinda hard to come up with original ideas at the pace i would need them for my daily post. but, the pace i move at is very fast and it even scares me sometimes, so that wouldn't be too much of a problem for you if you chose to write
