The way fandom continues to bend over backwards to excuse Dean's treatment of Jack in the beginning of season 13 and then paint Sam as some kind of master manipulator continues to astound me. If you like Dean better or if Dean's relationship with Jack is more interesting to you, no one is stopping you from focusing on that, but the way people will engage in, yes, blatant abuse apologia to argue that actually there's something GRACIOUS to be said about Dean's naked vitriol toward Jack in the beginning of season 13, that his behavior is actually MORALLY SUPERIOR to Sam's and can be used as textual evidence that his relationship with Jack is MORE special than Sam's?? Let's just kill ALL nuance in the relationships being portrayed to us in these episodes in order to support a shoehorned moral narrative that actually, "Sam tried to USE Jack but at least Dean was honest."
You know, the question of whether Sam used or manipulated Jack in the beginning of season 13, and to what degree, might be an interesting one, and there might be nuanced discussion to be had about it if it were not repeatedly and exclusively misrepresented and used to deduct moral points from Sam in the never-ending moral tally game that spnblr factions insist on playing whenever Sam and Dean are even somewhat at odds in a storyline, to the point where people will straight out ignore the story being explicitly told on their TV screens in order to acquit their favorite guy of any wrongdoing (or at least any more wrongdoing than Sam.)
The idea that Sam. Sam Winchester, who, in his first moments of meeting Jack 1) realizes he is not a credible threat to them and 2) begins trying to make the best out of a bad situation all while his brother is beyond all reason in his grief and rage. Sam, who fostered a connection to Jack due to his relationship with Lucifer and monstrousness, decided he was worth giving a chance to, treated kindly, offered whatever comfort he could, and never once lied to him about what they were trying to accomplish (and also never once "pretended" to care about him), is actually morally WORSE in his early season 13 treatment of Jack than Dean, who actively demeaned and threatened to kill him after he had not done anything to harm anyone, is such a reach that I would scoff at it and keep scrolling if it didn't seem like half the fandom has convinced themselves that this is actually the correct season 13 takeaway.
Like Dean and like Cas, Sam made mistakes with Jack. Sam did things that harmed Jack. I'd never argue that he didn't and that's not the point of this post. Because hey! The fact that Sam and Dean BOTH behaved in ways that were harmful to Jack--to varying degrees of intent and effect--is what makes the arc interesting! The ways in which Dean's treatment of Jack juxtaposes Sam's still imperfect but much gentler treatment of Jack, and the reasons their characters behave in those ways, is INTERESTING. I LIKE watching Dean blatantly treat Jack like a punching bag for his emotions, and I LIKE watching his feelings toward Jack evolve to the point where he explicitly REGRETS his earlier treatment of him because it is the STORY!
So why is this fandom willing to extend the grace towards Dean's character to mess up and learn and grow in his relationship with Jack, but not Sam? Why do Sam's mistakes in the beginning of season 13 mean that his relationship with Jack isn't as meaningful as Dean's and is actually based on a tower of lies? BOTH Sam and Dean have an evolving relationship with Jack. Sam's is more subtle in season 13, but they do both have to get to know and come to terms with him before they start viewing him as family, and their respective relationships with him are notable for different reasons because they started in different places and evolve in different ways! Like, again, if you like Dean and Jack's relationship better than Sam and Jack's, that's fine, but it is point blank ridiculous to actually try to argue and defend the idea that season 13 Dean consistently behaved in a way which was better for Jack than Sam.

In The Eyes of God
Castiel x Dean (Destiel) 💙💚
Word Count: 2,643
Cas and Dean are forbidden lovers, prince x peasant. PART SIX
Part Five:
Warnings: mentions of blood, demonic possessions, imprisonment, implied execution, homophobia
Dean stuffed stolen goods into a bag, mentally tallying up what he had and what he still needed. He could probably make a quick run into Narran to gather whatever he’d forgotten. Since he’d promised to run away with Castiel he hadn’t slept, he couldn’t, not with all the dizzying information running through his mind at any given moment. He’d planned as much as he could, but now all he could do was pray that everything would work out in his favor. Dean wasn’t sure how much longer he could wait.
Castiel was in a similar position, stuck pacing in his room, packing a secrecy bag aside from the one he packed to convince his parents he was planning to leave in a week as they’d told him he would. They didn’t know that he planned on leaving much sooner, and he planned on keeping it that way. He was nervous, but beyond that he was excited. There was a feeling in his chest he couldn’t recall ever having before, one that made him feel lightheaded and made it hard to breathe. He wanted to bust through the doors already, he wanted to run as far and as fast as he could, he wanted to do something to expel the energy that only seemed to be growing in his very bones. For the first time in his life, he had real hope. Something that had started as a small spark had lit something much greater, something that set his soul burning so hot he wasn’t sure if he could contain it. Anger surged that fire, focus channeled it, and love pushed him forward. They were going to get out. He was sure of it.
That evening Castiel waited at his window, watching the sun slip slowly past the horizon, observing as the moon and stars grew brighter, gazing out into the universe. All those galaxies and planets out there, and everything that had ever happened, was leading up to this moment. This night. Castiel felt held, he felt safe, he knew that God was out there, and he had a plan. He trusted God. His God would love him no matter what happened, no matter who he was. He had faith.
Dean felt similarly, as shocking as that was to himself. He found himself on his knees in the barn, giving a final prayer before he set off. Dean had given up on God months ago, straying further and further from the supposed man in the sky until all he felt was a strange mix of longing and satisfaction. He longed to have that kind of connection again, but being free from it had saved him. He wasn’t ashamed anymore. He didn’t plead with God at night to tell him what was wrong with him anymore. In a way, Castiel had become his God. If Dean didn’t know any better, he would’ve preached to the world that Castiel was an angel sent straight from heaven.
The plan was simple enough, at eight in the evening the guards in the far eastern corner of the wall switched shifts, and there was a few minutes of space where the wall and doors were unguarded. During that small amount of time, Dean and Castiel would meet halfway, in the portion of the gardens where the trees shielded them from view, and sneak through the gate. After they managed to leave the castle walls unnoticed, they’d hurry into Narran and board the next vessel leaving from the docks, slipping out before anyone even noticed they were gone. It didn’t matter where they went, as long as they were together. Dean had enough money to give them a few days of travel and food, and depending on where they ended up he was sure he could find a way to get some income. After a while, they would stop searching for Castiel, but he would need to be hidden from public view for quite some time, Dean was sure of that. The only problem would be his eyes, those pretty blue ones Dean loved so much, they were only found in royal bloodlines. Selective breeding within the children of kingdoms and countries for many generations ensured the trait was kept sacred. It was a sign of status, and it wasn’t easily hidden. Keeping Castiel safe was an issue they’d face, but Dean hadn’t thought too much about that just yet.
The task at hand was to get out. Now.
Twenty minutes past sunset Castiel pulled on his cloak, flipped up the hood, and glanced in the mirror to make sure he looked covered enough. His backpack made a bit of a strange lump on his back, but he figured it might help him blend into the crowd down at the docks. It was dark outside by now, and the dark blue fabric of his cloak would help him melt in seamlessly. If all went well, he’d be waking up tomorrow morning a free man. The thought made his chest flutter. Castiel was going to be free.
He climbed down the wall from his window, struggling to keep a steady grip on the thin ledge, nearly slipping a few times, but eventually making it down safely. It was hard to be quiet, his boots crunching on the gravel no matter how lightly he stepped. Nobody had noticed him so far, and he intended to keep it that way. It had dropped significantly in temperature tonight, enough that he could see his breath puff up around him. It had been a year since the two met in the forest, nearly down to the day. Castiel only remembered dreaming of the day he might get something like this, yet here it was and all he could do was try not to shake.
Castiel pushed aside a branch and stepped into the clearing where they’d agreed to meet. Dean wasn’t there yet. Castiel felt a bit of anxiety pool in his stomach. Has something gone wrong? Was Dean already caught? Was it all useless?
”Cas.”
Dean moved to Castiel’s side, setting a hand on his arm and watching as Castiel relaxed.
”I was worried for a second.”
Dean shook his head, also shivering gently in the freezing breeze.
”Everything’s fine. Come along, we haven’t got much time.”
Castiel didn’t argue when Dean tugged on his sleeve, pulling him along. They fell into step beside each other, their soft breathing synchronized as their hands came together and held on as if they’d be ripped apart at any second. It wasn’t a long walk to the eastern border, but Dean would rather be a bit early than be late and have to rush. He wanted this to work out—no—he needed this to work out.
The two crouched down behind some bushes, watching the guards mill about atop the wall and on either side of the gate. Dean was counting in his mind, every second, just waiting for them to switch. They had maybe three minutes to run down to the gate, get outside, and get as far away as they could, as fast as they could. Castiel had been into the forest before, so Dean wasn’t too worried.
“Dean,” Castiel whispered to the other, bringing up a hand to turn his face. Dean was still nervous, and trying to focus, but when Castiel kissed him it started flowing away. The tension in his body lessened, his mind cleared, and he felt more stable. After Castiel pulled away he let out a small breath, opening his eyes and giving the other a nod.
”We’ll be alright.”
With that, Dean grasped Castiel’s hand and led them away from the bushes, hurrying silently down to the gate. For the next three minutes, nobody but them would be here. Dean set to work opening the lock on the gate with the stolen key he took from his pocket while Castiel glanced around, keeping watch, just in case. Nervous seconds passed before the lock clicked open and Dean tossed it aside, pushing open the large wooden door and wincing when it creaked. He ushered Castiel through, pushing on the door with all his strength to shut it again.
“Let’s go, before anyone—“ Castiel started in a whisper, taking Dean’s arm as the other walked up to him.
”You there!”
A deep voice shouted from the top of the wall, the moonlight catching the metal armor on the King’s guard. Castiel felt his stomach drop, looking up at the guard only for a second before Dean shouted something and he was being pulled along. He stumbled for a moment, regaining his balance and running as fast as his legs could go. He could hear more yelling and the gate opening behind him, but those sounds slowly faded.
Dean was breathing heavily now, one hand gripped so tightly on Castiel’s arm it might’ve bruised. He glanced over his shoulder often, forcing his legs to carry him just a little bit faster every time he caught a glimpse of that bright metal. They might make it, but they have to get off this trail.
“Hurry, go!”
Dean said as loudly as he dared, guiding Castiel off the worn trail and through the brush of the forest now. It was dark and either of them could barely see, thorns and branches whipping at their face and arms and making it difficult to continue.
Almost before he could even process there was a root above ground, Castiel’s ankle caught on the exposed wood. He tripped, falling before Dean could catch him, and hitting the ground hard enough to knock all the wind out of him. At the moment Castiel didn’t feel it, but both he and Dean had heard the sickening crack of a bone snapping in half.
Stars and tears exploded in Castiel’s vision, a sharp cry of pain forcing itself from his throat despite how desperately he tried to keep quiet. His arm felt like it was on fire, and he couldn’t even move his ankle.
“Fuck, you’re alright.” Dean dropped down to his knees, helping Castiel rollover. Castiel was hyperventilating, tears streaming down his face, jaw clenched tightly, and whimpers taking the place of pained screaming. Dean almost didn’t want to look, but when he glanced down at Castiel’s left arm, he knew this was bad. His arm was bent, maybe 45 degrees, and in the dark, he couldn't tell if it was bruising already but he knew this was serious.
“Shh, it’s alright, it’ll be alright.” Dean brought a hand to Castiel’s face, cupping his cheek and trying to get him to quiet down. Castiel couldn’t stop sobbing. This was worse than anything he’d ever experienced, a kind of pain that radiated through his entire arm and made everything feel sharp and numb at the same time.
“We have to keep going,” Dean says in a hushed but hurried tone, scooping an arm under Castiel’s back when he begins to hear voices approaching.
“No, Dean, you can’t.” Castiel hiccuped, struggling to get the words out through his dizzy head. “Just go, just run. They won’t hurt me, you have to go.”
”I’m not leaving you.”
Dean’s voice was filled with the kind of finality that Castiel just couldn’t argue with, the kind that made him turn his face into Dean’s shoulder and bite down to keep from crying out any louder than he already was. The bone hadn’t broken skin, so Dean knew Castiel would be okay for a little bit longer at least.
“There!”
The guards had caught up already. Dean could see the light from their lanterns peeking through the treeline, but he didn’t stick around much longer. He took off as fast as he could, slower since he was now carrying Castiel in his arms. His legs burned, his arms burned, his whole body felt like it might give out at any second, but he kept running. At some point Castiel had passed out, becoming dead weight, but the only thing Dean could think about was getting out. They had to get out. They had to board that ferry, to go and build a house somewhere quiet where they’d be left alone. They had to be able to share dinner and fall asleep in each other’s arms. He had to be able to feel Castiel’s warm skin against his, feel his breath pick up, and see every little change in his expression.
All that and more was what pushed Dean forward, but the forest only grew darker, and when he finally burst through the treeline he was met with an entire troupe of guards. Dean panted heavily for air, staggering back a step, on the verge of collapsing from exhaustion.
”You’re surrounded.”
The front guard with the shiny gold shoulder panel stated, stepping forward to signal his authority.
“Unhand the Prince, now.”
Dean watched the man’s eyes, reading his expression, looking around at the others there, and thinking about his choices. What would happen to Castiel? If they knew that Castiel had run away, with another man no less, what might they do to him? Dean could handle whatever punishment came with this, but his Cas couldn’t, and he knew that.
“Unhand him, now! I won’t say it again!”
The guard screamed at him this time, the men behind him taking a step forward and each placing a hand on the sheaths at their hips. The noise woke Castiel, who was bleary-eyed and still riddled with pain. He didn’t fully understand the situation at first, moaning softly when his arm shifted and sent sparks of pain up his body again. All the guards were on edge now, wondering what Dean did to their Prince.
Carefully, Dean set Castiel down, laying him gently on the ground and pressing a kiss to his forehead before pushing himself up and stepping over Castiel’s body, standing in front of him.
“The Devil sent me here to steal him.”
Looks of terror and anger flickered through the troupe, all hooked on listening to what Dean said, now worried that he might hurt Castiel further.
“Do you hear me? I did it! It’s all my fault. I’m a witch! I cast a spell on him, one that makes him sin. Cas— Your Prince, he’s the Devil’s now!”
Dean was shouting, raising his arms, and trying to seem as deranged as possible. This meant his death, but he could spare Castiel. As long as they believed Dean had forced Castiel, nobody would think to accuse him of something. Eventually, Dean just started yelling gibberish, random words he thought sounded demonic enough, dancing around Castiel’s limp body. When the guards rushed over to grab him and make him stop whatever ‘ritual’ he’d started, he began to thrash around, hoping to scare them. He saw a cross, cool metal pressing against his skin. He pretended it burned.
After he continued to fight their grip, the handle of a sword was cracked across his temple, knocking him out cold. Dean fell limp in the hands of several guards, the others already tending to Castiel and helping to carry him back to the castle.
Dean’s memory is fuzzy. Warm blood dripping from his temple to his cheek helped him to slip in between states of consciousness. Cold shackles clipped around his wrists, cutting uncomfortably into his skin as he was dragged along. Only Princes were given the luxury of being carried, after all.
At some point, Dean ended up tossed into a place that was damp, cold stone meeting his face and sending pain blooming on his cheekbone. He didn’t have the strength to push himself up, not that he could anyway, with his hands shackled together behind him and then chained to the wall. He couldn’t do much of anything but lie there in pain, too sick to worry about his future. He hoped Castiel was alright.

Cas Character Inspo Chart
Inspired by the original chart @kofeedoggo did with their characters, Jae and Evon!
From left down to right down:
-Adora from She-Ra (2018)
-Chuuya Nakahara (Bungo Stray Dogs)
-Finnick Odair (Hunger Games)
-Rody Lamoree (Dead Plate)
-Klaus Hargreeves (The Umbrella Academy)
-Steve Harrington (Stranger Things)
Adora inspires Cas's character both cosmetically and personality-wise (hero complex hello). Chuuya is mostly a cosmetic inspiration, but I can see connections between their personalities too. Finnick's backstory and personality reminds me a lot of Cas. Rody's pathetic wet dog energy and appearance fits, Klaus Hargreeves' weirdass self and connection to ghosts reminds me heavily of Cas, and Steve Harrington's tendency to adopt children off the street is Castor in a nutshell. Kyo, Tallis, and Himei inspirations are also coming soon!

What the shit is everhood
(Info dump pls?)
Gladly! ^w^
so everhood is a game that I would say is very similar to undertale, from the pixel art style to the humour to the general uhh theme? i guess is the word? Where you play as a wooden puppet named red on a quest to get your arm back from gold pig. The battle mechanic is a rhythm based system where you have to jump around and over beats the enemies through at you. The music is absolutely fucking fantastic and i actually bought the soundtrack i like it so much lol
a couple battles get absolutely insane with the visuals too, to the point im not even totally sure i can do a description justice? you can check out this video if you're curious, theres really no spoilers in this battle but it shows what im talking about. these battles are where the photosensitivity warning really comes in though, so be cautious if that effects you
I can't go too deep into the plot without getting into spoiler territory, so i'll put that under the cut for anyone who's curious, but here's what I can say! You go around collecting clues to find gold pig and get your arm back, and along the way you get to meet all the wonderful characters that populate Everhood. Like Rasta beast, Noseferatchu the sneezing vampire, Flan and Muck, the dancing mushrooms, a vampire who's name always changes. You really get to know and love these characters while also learning that maybe everything isn't as it seems in Everhood. Maybe, actually nothing is what it seems. Maybe you're the only one willing to do something about. But..... are you willing?
oh also kermit is there and I think he might be god? Also you can kill him and it impacts literally nothing
Full plot summary under the cut. I highly recommend you play the game without spoilers, but if you're like me and you Need to know what happens before you play then go wild. I'll only be talking about the intended good ending though, since I haven't gotten around to playing the secret endings yet- oh also mild spoilers for undertale i guess if youre worried about that in 2023
so when I say its similar to undertale in themes, its sort of. in a reverse sense. In undertale the good ending is the pacifist route. By saving the monsters you help them escape the underground and better their situation. It is mercy, the direct functional opposite of killing, that saves you. There is no mercy kill because using mercy ends the fight period.
Well in Everhood, the good ending requires you to kill everyone.
Your arm was taken from you because you've done this before, wiped out countless lives, friends even. And now you must finish the job. Its hard and sad and it sucks but it has to be you because no one else is going to. It falls on you to go back to these spots you've been through already, these happy cheerful locations, and hunt down everyone you've come to know over the course of the game.
so why do you need to kill everyone? and how on earth is it similar to undertale at all? well, Everhood isn't just the title of the game or the location it takes place, its the state every single character in the game is stuck in.
in the distant past, humanity found a way to reach another world, one they called Everhood. And in this world, no one could ever die. Some people chose to stay in this world, which lost connection to the human world for some reason i dont remember rn, and in doing so slowly lost their humanity. They lived for eons and eons and eons, changing their shape and loosing themselves in the process. You discover at one point that the Green Mage, a chaotic character whom I love, has been keeping track of the years everyone has spent in Everhood, every year a tally on the wall of their secret playroom. It takes three hours to get to the end of this hallway, to give you an idea of scale here. three real time hours.
Your character, Red, is a vessel for the literal human player behind the screen to free the inhabitants of Everhood from eternity. They aren't really happy. They can't be. They've been stuck for so long, and even though they beg and plead for you not to kill them you have to. Its the only way for them to be happy and move on from Everhood. And don't get me wrong you CAN choose not to go through with it. You have to actively fight back after this reveal to kill anyone. I haven't played through this way, so I can't speak on it.
The ending is sort of ambiguous, in which Pink (the person pretending to be Red and letting you the player control them) goes to an afterlife after killing everyone and gets to see them one last time, and they're happy. They forgive you. One by one you talk to them and they thank you for freeing them, apologize for fighting you, and move on happily to whatever comes after death. I choose to interpret it literally, but there's something to be said about the idea it's all in Pink's head. I don't think it was meant to be taken that way, but its one way to look at it.
The game sort of looses people with this being the good ending. But I think it's a beautiful metaphor. Sometimes you keep doing things that hurt you only because you're used to it. Maybe you don't even realize how its hurting you, its better than the alternative right? For the longest time I kept my bedroom blinds perpetually closed because the bright sunlight gave me headaches. I didn't realize just how depressed it was making me to be in near constant darkness like that. It was only after I bought a plant on a whim that I realized how much happier I was letting in the sunlight. You get so used to bad habits and awful jobs and clothes you hate because they're familiar. And doesn't it just seem easier? To take non-action and let everyone keep living and having fun in Everhood? Green Mage hosts DnD every week (or whatever counts as a week after you've lived for eternity), go play with the mushrooms in the forest, doesn't that sound lovely? You don't have to kill anyone, just keep living on exactly as you were! You have friends here Red! It hurts too much to kill them! they don't want to die! why not just give up? How could anything good come from the pain of change?
#asks#doc rambles#everhood#easily one of my favourite games ever#i will ALWAYS take an opertunity to shill this game lmao

I’ll also say — as a Californian who is, maybe not aghast or surprised but definitely angry and disappointed about how sideways the voting went in California re: progressive outcomes on the propositions at play this cycle — a big problem with this specific instance is that there is a massive propaganda effort in this state, specifically, to trick people into thinking one way or another about progressive causes. I feel that in my experience, the ‘powers that be’ know that if the language used to describe an issue is too empathetic (or, honestly, just straightforward), a measure will quickly get a lot of support. So, advertising for propositions is severely curtailed in spaces where they know younger and more motivated demographics will be watching, and counter-ads often use extremely oblique and sometimes outright misleading language to make the progressive goal of the proposition sound like a Bad Thing, Actually.
This is the Associated Press’s google tooltip that I got from googling California Prop 6:

I’ll get back to this in a second. For now, here is a link to the full text on Prop 6. It’s kind of a fucking slam dunk in my opinion! The section at the end is particularly interesting to me.

Nobody even bothered to submit an argument against. Why? Because nobody reads this stuff, and the people who didn’t want Prop 6 to pass knew that. I bet if you look into No On 6 campaigns, the rhetoric is probably highly divorced from the reality of what the proposition actually does, and is designed to trick people into thinking that it’s something completely different.
(It’s also very closely connected to the ‘return to tough-on-crime policy’ Prop 36, and they work nicely together to subjugate petty criminals.)
But I think that it’s important to remember that a lot of people just. Didn’t vote. California has something like 38 million citizens, and even if you take the above numbers as 55% of counted ballots — as per the implication in the screenshot of the AP’s tallies — that still accounts for less than half of CA’s population having voted in the first place. So, realistically… like, a quarter of the population voted No on this. Yes, that’s one in four people being OK with treating criminals however the fuck they want… but it’s a dramatic minority of the overall population.
All that said: I agree with OP, that most people don’t think twice about it and allow themselves to be carried by the cultural current. Before I really dug into it with my dad, he expressed the basic sentiment of ‘Well yeah indentured servitude is bad, but they did something wrong, so I don’t know that I mind’; but it took extremely minimal effort to point out how fucked up the situation really is (which is partially because my dad is a reasonable man, but I don’t think that most people would be that much harder to convince.) I think that cultivated apathy is easily cut through, as long as the individual in question already has a decent ethical base.
And I do believe that when it comes California’s denizens, at large, apathy really is their biggest problem. It sucks so, so bad that so few people bothered to vote down-ballot, if they voted at all, but I would rather work with the apathetic than with the outright malicious.
i've been seeing a lot of californians aghast at the proposition to abolish prisoners being used as slave labour getting voted down and i have no idea how to fix this on a societal scale but after having enough conversations with people you really do start to realise that a massive percentage of the population sees prisoners as subhuman and therefore believes that once someone is in prison for any reason then everything bad that's done to them is simply their just desserts
#asterisk: yes I know that in rural areas Californians are basically just red Texans#but honestly even then I think they tend to be less demonically hateful#I remember being in rural Arizona and straight up worrying that we were going to get hate crimed#because SO MANY cars had straight up vile bumper stickers#anyway OP sorry if this was too tangential to your post

How to Choose the Best Accounting Course in Mumbai for Your Goals
Mumbai, the financial capital of India, is home to numerous educational institutions offering a variety of accounting courses tailored to different career paths and skill levels. Whether you aim to work in corporate finance, start your own accounting practice, or specialize in a niche area like taxation or auditing, selecting the right accounting course is a crucial step in achieving your career goals. In this article, we will guide you through the key factors to consider when choosing the best accounting course in Mumbai that aligns with your aspirations.
1. Assess Your Career Goals
Before diving into course options, take time to reflect on your career aspirations. Are you looking to pursue a career in general accounting, become a Chartered Accountant (CA), or specialize in areas like forensic accounting or taxation? Understanding your long-term goals will help you filter out courses that may not be suitable for your career trajectory.
For a Corporate Accounting Role: Consider courses like the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) or Advanced Diploma in Accounting.
To Become a Chartered Accountant (CA): Opt for CA coaching classes that specifically prepare you for CA exams.
For a Taxation or Auditing Career: Specialized programs such as Taxation Certification Courses or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) could be more appropriate.
2. Evaluate Course Content and Curriculum
A well-structured curriculum is the foundation of any good accounting course. Make sure the course includes both theoretical knowledge and practical application of accounting principles. Check if it covers a wide range of topics, including:
Financial accounting
Cost accounting
Auditing and taxation
Accounting software proficiency
Business law and ethics
Financial reporting standards (IFRS, GAAP)
Courses that offer hands-on training, exposure to accounting software (like Tally, QuickBooks, or SAP), and real-world case studies will give you an edge in the job market.
3. Look for Accredited Institutions
When choosing an accounting course in Mumbai, consider enrolling in a reputable institution. Accredited institutions often have higher-quality courses, expert instructors, and better placement opportunities. Look for accreditation from bodies like the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), or Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICAI).
In Mumbai, some prominent institutions known for their accounting programs include:
Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS)
Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) Mumbai Chapter
Podar Institute of Management
Welingkar Institute of Management Development & Research
4. Instructor Expertise and Industry Connections
The instructors who teach the course play a pivotal role in delivering quality education. Look for programs where the faculty members have a strong background in accounting practice and education. Instructors with real-world experience can provide valuable insights into the industry.
Additionally, consider the institution’s connections with industry professionals and companies. Strong ties with the business community can offer opportunities for internships, networking, and even job placements after course completion.
5. Consider Course Duration and Flexibility
Course duration is another essential factor. Full-time courses tend to last longer, typically from 6 months to 3 years, depending on the level of specialization. On the other hand, short-term certifications and online courses may offer flexibility if you’re balancing work or other commitments.
Full-time Courses: Ideal for those who are able to dedicate all their time to their studies and are aiming for specialized qualifications like CA, CMA, or ACCA.
Part-time and Online Courses: Suitable for working professionals or individuals looking for shorter, skill-based programs.
If you're already working or pursuing another degree, you may want to choose a course that offers flexible hours, weekend classes, or online learning.
6. Check for Placement and Internship Opportunities
One of the most important aspects of selecting an accounting course is whether the program offers placement support or internships. An internship gives you practical experience in accounting, which is invaluable when entering the job market.
Look for courses that have strong placement records, tie-ups with reputed firms, and internship opportunities in accounting or finance-related positions. Institutions with dedicated placement cells can help you secure interviews with top companies.
7. Cost and Financial Aid
The cost of accounting courses can vary greatly depending on the course level and institution. Before enrolling, compare fees and see if the course fits your budget. Remember that an expensive course doesn’t always guarantee the best education.
Additionally, check if the institution offers any financial aid, scholarships, or EMI payment options to make the course more affordable.
8. Read Reviews and Alumni Testimonials
It’s always a good idea to read reviews and testimonials from past students. This will give you a sense of the quality of the course, the teaching methods, and the overall student experience. Alumni reviews can provide insights into how well the course has prepared graduates for their careers, including the types of job roles they’ve landed and their current professional success.
Conclusion
Choosing the best accounting course in Mumbai requires careful consideration of your career goals, the course content, the institution's reputation, flexibility, and the financial investment involved. By focusing on these factors, you’ll be in a strong position to select a program that equips you with the necessary knowledge and skills to excel in the competitive world of accounting and finance.
By aligning your educational journey with your professional objectives, you will not only gain technical proficiency but also set yourself up for long-term success in the ever-evolving accounting industry.

How To Get An Accountant Job In UAE?

Did you know there are plenty of accounting job requirements in the UAE? It is the best opportunity for those seeking to gain international experience and grow their careers. Nowadays, jobs are becoming more competitive in the accounting and finance sectors. To get a job in this industry, one should fulfill specific criteria. Let's read about how to get an accountant job in UAE.
Skills Needed
Recruiters at big companies care more about what skills you have than where you're from or your background. They look for:
Communication skills: Being good at talking and sharing ideas.
Technical skills: Knowing how to use the right tools and methods for the job.
Cultural fit: Getting along well in the company's environment.
Technical Skills
Out of these skills, technical skills are the easiest to identify and improve. In accounting, you'll often use computers to track purchases, sales, and returns and handle taxes. Being good at these systems is essential.
Being great at Microsoft Excel is very important for those starting in smaller firms. Smaller firms need more money for expensive software and often use Excel instead. Knowing how to connect sheets, use formulas, and format data in Excel can help you move forward in your career.
At higher levels, knowing how to use advanced software is critical. Even though different companies might use other systems, being familiar with various software can give you an edge.
Tally, QuickBooks Pro, ERP systems, Sage, and similar programs are commonly used in Gulf countries. While knowing the basics is enough for some, having hands-on experience can help. Taking courses in these programs can boost your chances at top firms. Also, learning how to use MS PowerPoint for presentations and MS Word for reports is beneficial.
How to Get Jobs
An excellent way to find accounting job requirements in the UAE is to start at a local audit firm that also works internationally. After a while, they might offer you a chance to work abroad.
You can also talk to experienced colleagues who've done similar jobs abroad for advice. Before getting a job, try to do some research about particular job roles in the industry.
When you're trying to get these opportunities, make sure to show off your skills. When the company needs someone to work abroad for a while, your boss or you can suggest you for the job.
You'll have to plan your way if there are no accounting job requirements in UAE for opportunities like this through a company. Many people in this situation go to another country on a visit visa. If they find a job, they can change their visa to a longer one. But getting into the job market in a new country can take a lot of work for people moving there.
