DP x DC: The Most Dangerous Card Game
Ok so Danny has essentially claimed earth as his. And he is fully aware that there are constant threats to the planet. Now he can’t stop a threat that originates on earth (that’s something he’ll leave to the Justice league) but he can do something about outside threats. Doing some research on ancient spells, rituals, and artifacts, he cast a world wide barrier on the planet to protect it from hostile threats so they cannot enter. This will prevent another Pariah Dark incident. However, barriers like this come at a price. You see, there are two ways to make a barrier. Either make one powered up by your own energy and power (which would be constantly draining) or set up a barrier with rules. The way magic works is that nothing can be absolutely indestructible. It must have a weakness. The most powerful barriers weren’t the ones reinforced with layer after layer of protective charms and buffed up with power. Those could eventually be destroyed either by being overpowered, wearing them down, or by cutting off the original power source. No, the most powerful barriers were the ones with a deliberate weakness. A barrier indestructible except for one spot. A cage that can only be opened from the outside. Or that can only be passed with a key or by solving a riddle. So Danny chooses this type of barrier and does the necessary ritual and pours in enough power to make it. And he adds his condition for anyone to enter.
Now the Justice league? Find out about the barrier when Trigon attempts to attack, they were preparing after he threatened what he would do once he got to earth. How he would destroy them. The Justice league tried to take the fight to him first but were utterly destroyed, so they retreated home to tend to their injuries, and fortify earth for one. Last. Stand. Only when Trigon makes his big entrance…he’s stopped.
The Justice league watch in awe as this thin see-through barrier with beautiful green swirls and speckled white lights like stars apears blocking Trigon and his army’s advance. The barrier looks so thin and fragile yet no matter how hard the warlord hits, none of his attacks can get through and neither can he damage said barrier. That’s when Constantine and Zatanna recognizes what this barrier is. Something only a powerful entity could create. For a moment, the league is filled with hope that Trigon can’t get through yet Constantine also explains that it’s not impenetrable. And clearly Trigon knows this too for he calls out a challenge.
And that’s when, in a flash of light, a tiny glowing teenager appears. He looked absolutly minuscule compared to Trigon and yet practically glowed with power (this isn’t a King Danny AU though).
And that is when the conditions for passing the barrier are revealed. And the Justice realize that the only thing stopping Trigon and his army from decimating earth. The only way he can get through….is by beating this glowing teenager in a card game.
Not just any card game though. The most convoluted game Sam, Danny, and Tucker invented themselves. It’s like the infinite realms version of magic the gathering, combined with Pokémon, and chess. And Danny is the master. So sit down Trigon and let’s play.
(The most intense card game of the Justice league’s life).
After Danny wins, this happens a few more times with outer word beings and possibly even demons attempting to invade earth, yet none have been able to beat the mysterious teenager in a card game. Constantine might even take a crack at it and try to figure out how to play. He’s really bad though. Every time this happens, the Justice league worry that this might be the time the teenager looses. Yet every time, he wins (even if only barely).
Meanwhile, Danny, Sam, and Tucker have gotten addicted to the game and play it almost daily. Some teachers might seem them playing the game are are like ‘awww how cute’ not realizing this game is literally saving the world. Jazz is just happy they aren’t spending as much time on their screens playing Doomed.

I think about Tara Markov a lot, her character is so tragic and there's so much potential there. like she had the potential to be really complex– a child being forced into a role she doesn't want, so she makes the choice to become a villain instead.
i know wolfman and pérez meant for her to just be evil for the sake of it. no "she was tricked" or "manipulated" or "tragic backstory pushing her to the wrong side", but when i was reading her arc i couldn't help but look for motivation, and
she was given powers by that scientist, right? she was a child and underwent an experiment that turned her into a meta, forced into a role of protector.
the teen titans are around. other kids with powers (and one without) and they aren't complaining about the role thrust upon them. they delight in it, become the world's hero. and tara is supposed to follow in their footsteps. no wonder she hates them
like a younger sibling constantly being compared to an older one, told that they aren't good enough, that their older sibling did it all and did it without complaint. her life is stripped away from her, no longer her own
she's like 14/15?
how tragic to have your life taken over, told to be this one thing. be a hero, you're a meta, you have to use your powers for good
but she just wanted to be a kid
the only way to rebel, to make a choice, is to become a villain. she's going to destroy the teen titans. show the world that teen heroes aren't that great. that maybe teens shouldn't be put in this position, forced to be the world's heroes so that the world will accept them
i don't know that i could ever explain this right but ugh i love thinking about what her character could have been

Of the heroes that appeared in the late 90's and early 00's, Superman, Batman, The Flash, Wonder Woman, Aquaman and Green Arrow, most of the founders of the Justice League, are notable for taking on young proteges, or "Sidekicks" as they would eventually come to known as.
Naturally, through these shared experiences and mentorships, these teenaged heroes banded together as teammates and friends, even before their mentors did.
In 2002, Robin, Kid Flash, Wonder Girl and Aqualad, later joined by Supergirl in 2003 and Speedy in 2004, would form the Teen Titans, some say as an excuse to hang out more often.

Nightwing #100 was fun and a good celebration of Nightwing's history and progress. The Titans set up was really cool to see and I hope DC follows through with putting the Titans into the spotlight.
BUT
It can't be in the Nightwing series. I can't think of anything more damaging to The Titans as a team and to Nightwing himself than to have the entirety of the Titans crammed into a solo series.
This is why we have team series and solo series. People don't read Titan series for stories 98% focused on Grayson with every other Titans character relegated to a cameo support role. People don't read Nightwing for stories revolving around his Titans' leadership duties.
The best part about the Titans is that it's a diverse group of personalities and skillsets. Every character gets a chance to shine, every character has a distinct personality and goals. They aren't Dick Grayson's backup dancers or personal cheerleading squad. And Dick's book should be where he gets to just be himself doing stealth missions and clandestinely fighting assassins, without trying to be the perfect leader that's always got a plan.
I liked Nightwing #100 and I've liked the other times Titans characters have crossed over into the series. But this can't just be it. They have to have a Titans series. They have to.

Regarding Earth 1, I was thinking how all its titles are supposedly in the same universe (the aforementioned Earth 1), but in practice they kinda contradict each other and have no correlation whatsoever. Then I remembered that, in The Multiversity Guidebook, it is stated that "this freshly created Universe [Earth 1] is still cooling and as yet unformed" and that "Time and space are still pliable, and nothing here is certain".
Following this logic, I thought that each of its titles (Superman, Batman, Teen Titans, Wonder Woman and Green Lantern) were all atempts of this Earth in creating a consolidated universe, but they weren't able to coalesce in a single, cohesive unit, so each one ended up becoming an offshoot Earth from Earth 1:
Superman: Earth One is in Earth 101 (in like Earth 1-01)
Batman: Earth One is in Earth 102
Teen Titans: Earth One is in Earth 103
Wonder Woman: Earth One is in Earth 104
Green Lantern: Earth One is in Earth 105
(The first title gets the lower number and so forth, that's why the Titans Earth cames before Wonder Woman's. This way, the Earth creation reflects the publication order in a meta way)
This way, each version of these characters exists someplace in the Multiverse in case any writer wants to use them, and it also opens the possibility for Earth 1 to be a new universe, since the Earth One imprint is basically dead.
What do you think?
Superman and Batman being located on the same Earth feels plausible to me. I know Batman had a few Easter eggs referencing Superman's existence. Never read Teen Titans but the basic premise doesn't seem too outlandish to coexist with those two either. It's Wonder Woman and GL who are dealbreakers. Wondy isn't gritty enough and GL is too advanced tech wise. Your solution is fine with me regardless.

Something related to the Teen Titans
Status Post #10993: I'm going to be honest with you but I do think Teen Titans: Earth One should've been an ongoing than being a graphic novel duology if you know what I mean.
Because having read the series, it had that Teen Titans meets Runaways vibe after all.

bluey gives me like. So many emotions because I only had like. Three channels in the hospital I was stuck in for twenty eight hours. I could barely sleep. All that was on was teen titans go usually, miraclous lady bug, and if I was lucky, bluey. It felt like. A bright light in the darkest tunnel. Such bright colors. Such vibrant music. Cute moments. When everything felt like it was [redacted], it made me feel like I was at the beginning. <-starting to not make sense
