Fun idea

How about 🇩🇰 building a Lego castle !

Since Denmark is where Lego comes from

Of course Denmark loves legos!! As a relatively small country Denmark is proud of being home to such a big company known all across the world. He has made a lot of money on Lego, but for him personally it is much more important to bring joy to people of all ages. He loves creating and being artistic as well - lego is very Danish.

Where did mechi get his mechlink?

In my idea for his background, Mechi applied for a mechlink on his homeworld (one of the more developed urbworlds) and, after what probably felt like an achingly long period of review, was approved for it!

Probably the only person more excited about it than Mechi was his baby sister Yamka.

Also, the description of mechlinks on the RimWorld wiki made me grimace at how uncomfortable it sounded. I bet Yamka had a ball teasing Mechi about it, and I'm sure he had one hell of a headache for a few days after it was first installed.

Weirdly ready for this as I was recently asked to describe Coran using Sims traits. 😂 I found it really hard to sum him up so succinctly, but it was a good exercise. My description: Egotistical, Ambitious, Loyal. Coran’s description:  Determined, Persuasive, Loyal. Naturally, he isn’t full of himself, he just knows what he’s doing. Obviously!

20. What do they like that nobody else does?

Oh god. Okay. Gives me an opportunity to describe maybe the thing I like least about him (y'know, murder and dubious morality and stuff put aside, as you do).

Coranzan has a pretty uninspired flavor palate and often focuses on the utilitarian aspects of food if nobody else is around him (thankfully his sister is around him a lot or he would just eat horribly). He can appreciate better-tasting food but he simply doesn't care about pursuing it enough to go out of his way to attain it.

If they existed in Forgotten Realms, this is the kind of guy who would consume nothing but protein shakes and energy drinks and not get bored of it.

It's horrible. Don't let this man order for you.

27.  Forgiveness or vengeance (or…)?

Forgiveness - usually. I got this answer in a previous ask but I will expand on it.

The only reason Coranzan is alive today is due to someone believing that an irredeemable person was redeemable. On Coranzan's first raid as a Lolthite, he was bested and nearly killed by an elven paladin of Lathander - if not for the fact that this paladin showed mercy to a drow who showed up to kill and rob him and his camp.

It's something he reflects on frequently - despite his arrogance, he owes his life to another person's mercy and the chance to be redeemed. He takes this very seriously and applies it to others who have tried to execute him.

There have been exceptions to this, of course. And Coranzan has killed people in cold blood. So he's uh not GREAT at it, to say the least, but short of extraordinary circumstances, he generally believes in forgiveness and redemption.

The way you write Parker is honestly so relatable. Good job on the autism, lol. Any thoughts on Parker stimming? I bet she’d totally do vocal stims when she gets comfy enough with the others to not want to run away. Eliot cooks her crunchy food and Parker does a happy trill or Sophie gives her money for Christmas and she shimmies her whole body and bounces with flappy hands. Listen… I love autistic Parker, you know??

Thank you so much! Autistic Parker is *everything* to me. I'm having a blast specifically writing her in kids (aren't) alright because she's younger and is much worse at masking, and it's just so fun to write.

I definitely think she stims once she feels comfortable around people, and I think mainly physical stims like hand flapping or bouncing on her feet or rocking back and forth, but I can definitely see her doing vocal stims too. I also think she would have pain seeking stims, like slapping her hands against hard surfaces or tugging on her hair or scratching herself, until Hardison gives her one of those spiky rolly stim balls that she can use instead.

But yea I agree with this!! Also on the other ask it says something like "a lot of them (including the Canadians) are trumpies but just aren't dumb enough to post about it", and it's not even that!! They just haven't had a reason to post it!! If they had won the Stanley cup and were from an American team they would've posted their little pictures at the white house with the asshole in chief, as many other players post their pictures with their respective right wing politicians. It is what it is.

Also another reminder for the crowd, the tkachuks are friends with your faves, I mean not with all of them but with a good bunch, so if you are here in condemnation mode, what does that say about them too?? They are freely choosing to hang out, no one is forcing them.

Listen my first death before I even linked with the statue was jumping too far from the ledge above Tephra and drowning in the waterfall. Pyrite is gonna be a bit of an airhead sometimes hdfgndfb. They can get sassy but it's not a frequent enough occurrence

26. Why did your Hatchling join OWV?

Curiosity babyyyy, looked to the skies and wondered what's beyond that blanket of starry void. Saw patterns in the stars and wondered if they could discover and name their own constellation. More than anything they wanna understand the universe and it's machinations.

27. After a crash, is your Hatchling more likely to repair their ship or leave it to reset with the loop?

They're fixing the ship when they can, they aren't about to disappoint Gossan and throw away the time they spent training to be an astronaut. Loop or no loop. Though they do get a bit more reckless with their landings and get more daring with their piloting as the loops go on. Eventually they didn't really need to fix up the ship bc they can maneuver it just fine to avoid crashes.

... Sometimes.

39. Who is your Hatchling’s favorite Nomai and why?

Poke! Her logs where she talks about feeling unprepared for the task of recreating the advanced warp core she volunteered for resonated with Pyrite. Certainly made them pause a little wondering if they're truly prepared to be an astronaut. They would follow along Poke's journey as they learn more about the Nomai

47. How did your Hatchling feel when they realized they couldn't save anyone? Afraid? Relieved? Angry?

Distressed, angry, sad, frustrated, scared, apologetic. The whole package. They wish they could do something to save them all. It's not fair that all this is happening on *their first launch day*. They're the fledgling astronaut, but now they're the Bearer of the Curse™. They'd be angry at the universe, they'd be angry at the Nomai, they'd be sad for their friends and family. It'd be a long journey for them to come to terms with the universe ending.

Eventually they'll get to the acceptance stage and carry their memories with them, keeping everyone in their heart until the very end and honouring them as the universe goes out with a bang.

Hiii!!! I jusþ want to mention I really love Annoyances as a story! I dont have many coherent words to say about it, but its dialogue and narration and the way everything is described, the dynamics akd the character actions and the prose and the plot itself, its all so incredibly lovely to me, and I think you should be very proud of having written something so wonderful and sad and funny

Thank you so much, you're very kind!!! :_; And yeah, I use Annoyances as a way of both writing a Les Mis fanfic and also venting my thoughts/analysis of the characters, and exploring their characterization in ways that are more complicated than what I can get into in a tumblr post; it's my love letter to the novel, and I'm really glad you enjoy it! I'm glad people are still following it despite the long hiatuses, and that people are still coming back for this new chapter.

Ooh. I have one that is 👁️🔥➡️🧑🏻😬. Which made me laugh to type. 😂 It's about Sauron’s soul fleeing into Frodo’s body after the destruction of the Ring, making for many misadventures as Frodo and Sauron inhabit the same body. Redemption arc for the Dark Lord? Maybe! Pissed-off Samwise Gamgee? Definitely.

Aside from Tolkien's works (of course), my love for writing speculative fiction became inevitable once I started reading sci-fi that explores culture clashes and power dynamics, like The Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula K. Le Guin and Dune by Frank Herbert, as well as hard sci-fi with a humanistic bent like The Three-Body series by Liu Cixin.
