I have no idea how this happened. Well, actually, I kind of do. A weird process, all things considered. Anyway, have this first chapter of my newest thiam story, in which Liam grows up with the Dread Doctors, too.
Title: Until We End In Tragedy
Fandom: Teen Wolf (TV)
Rating: Mature
Summary:
“Don't go.” It doesn't matter how close Liam comes to begging. Theo's hand cards through his hair, claws a gentle scratching on his scalp, just this side of painful. The pressure of it is grounding, even if Theo's voice, hoarse from sleep and anxiety, isn't. “Because that's an option, right.” “Fuck the consequences,” he mumbles into Theo's stomach, right above the place where he curved an incision just hours before. “Just don't go. Stay here.” Hold me, he doesn't say, but it's the only thing he means. Theo huffs and Liam's whole head moves with it. “You're not getting killed as long as I'm still standing, Li. Not you.” Or: The nurture of the Dread Doctors has never been anything but ruthless, Liam knows that just as well as Theo. But they can't stay until they end in tragedy. Something has to change.
(Chapter one - Caught And All The Stars Are Hiding)
Have fun with it, I suppose?

Unpopular opinion:
What Theo did to the pack was worse than whatever Peter or any other villain did
Hear me out...
A lot of people talk about how Theo didn't deserve going to hell and that the pack forgave Peter and Deucalion (both of them tried to kill them more than once) but never truly forgave Theo and how it is not fair but I think they are forgetting that Theo didn't only try to kill them.
He planned the whole thing. He found every member's weakness and used it. He ripped the pack apart from the inside. He turned them all against each other and tried to take Scott's place as the Alpha. We don't really know what it did to the pack bonds.
Until Theo and even after him the pack could rely on each other. When Peter tried to kill them they had someone watching their backs. When Deucalion came along they could fight him off because they were together.
With Theo pulling the strings...
Theo killed his sister when he was nine years old and then spent a decade with the Dread Doctors, working for them, killing for them, bringing kids to them so they can turn them to chimeras. I think he was looking for the way out and he did so the only way he knew.
In the scene when Theo kills Scott you can see how much he hates the True Alpha. He is everything Theo never got a chance to be. He is a cheap knock-off of the supernatural creature, not even his heart is his own. He is a creature made from hate and rage and with his skills the pack couldn't just let him go. No one knows just how many packs he ruined before coming to Beacon Hills.
Don't get me wrong, I know the hell changed him. When Liam brought him back, it became clear that all he wanted to do was survive.
Scott couldn't save Theo because Theo would never let him. He resent him. In his eyes Scott was a do-gooder that didn't know anything about suffering.
Liam was the one who showed and taught him different ways. The beta with angry issues was one of the few people from the pack that knew how it feels to have the beast crawling at your skin and still chose to be good. So, Theo learnt.
I think that the pack forgave Theo eventually. Maybe it took years after the war or maybe he was forgiven even before Monroe fled Beacon Hills but I don't think they ever truly trusted him again. In their eyes he will always be a wild card. They don't know anything about his time with the Doctors and I think they don't even want to ask. Theo might become a pack ally, maybe even part of the pack, but he will never be truly trusted because what he was capable of doing and probably still is capable of doing and just chooses not to, makes him unreliable.
I hope this makes sense...

I finished teen wolf last night and one question has been bugging me since we first saw the Dread Doctors - or their boots anyway. Do you think they bought them themselves or do you think they made Theo do it bc he's their errand boy. Did they demand Demonias specifically or did Theo make that decision himself.

The relative lack of Teen Wolf fanart on this site saddens me so have these old doodles
Season 5 makes me angry, the dread doctors have such amazing designs and potential but they were kind of wasted. Still seething about it

i bet there's a special frequency that the Dread Doctors use to communicate with each other — undetectable by human and supernatural. they used it for centuries, speaking in clicks and buzzes, mute to the outer world.
until the creation of the radio.
every few frequencies, voices can be heard. one french, one german, one russian.
humans can notice something different about these frequencies, but it eventually just became part of the data.
supernatural creatures, however?
they heard the ramblings of madmen.

A good way to describe my ramcoa trauma (or anyone else who went through it) is like the scenes in teen wolf of when the dread doctors get to you, like Kira for example, of how they grabbed her, held her down and stuck a needle in her eye without her moving or reacting and then not remembering it until after she read the dread doctor book!!! (If you don’t know what I’m referring too look up that scene, might be triggering idk just be careful)
I will forever have the fear that I’m not fully aware of what is happening to me every moment and that I’ve lost a chunk of time and them hurting me within that time frame regardless of what evidence I have! What sucks too is that I’ve always had that fear growing up and didn’t know why until now!
Kinda hoping someone else can relate so I don’t feel alone in this:/
I was just about to fall asleep and then this came up lmao I do not need to be thinking about this right now 🧿🧿

In terms of worldbuilding the Dread Doctors are very weak - the sci-fi theme is jiving uncomfortably with how much more "wizard shit" their abilities are than anything we've seen previously, and 19 eps in I still don't know why they are doing anything - but aesthetically?
Aesthetically these guys FUCK 😎

The way Lucas is in my head is like, pre-dread doctors trauma bonded with Corey and severely anxious but undiagnosed leading to him having a low libido despite very much being gay/wanting to be normal. Like he very much needed help but dragged himself along and was misunderstood a lot. Corey's parental neglect gave him invisibility powers, i imagine that Lucas had a lot of buried rage that he bit down leading him to feel even more fucked up and lauding him into getting scorpion stingers/venom post-dread doctors.
Obviously there's no proof of this whatsoever but i like the idea of Lucas willingly going along with the dread doctors because hey, if it works then it works and just not exactly understanding what he was getting himself into, which fits into the whole "better to survive" moral code he and Corey both exhibited to Mason and spiralling downwards hard after waking up from the grave. Considering how he wasn't spewing mercury and was just murdered by them in sinema i do wonder if he knew more than they wanted him to and the doctors wanted nothing getting out, which paints a pretty horrific scene considering just how screwed up he was once confronted (especially if he retained all his memories...)
