i SWEAR I cannot handle any more driver lineup changes regarding arrow mclaren. i am SO SO happy to see lundgaard moving on up but i also feel bad for rossi because I have feelings…i want him to stay in the series!!! but look at how many drivers have been replaced at arrow mclaren since 2020…..whether it was intentional or not it’s still definitely still rather unfortunate…. :(( please please let pato christian and nolan stay a solid lineup it’s all i have of this team!

Felix walked alongside Theodora, the two of them chatting happily as they made their way back to the Hufflepuff common room. The corridors were mostly empty, the dim light from the torches casting flickering shadows on the stone walls. Felix found himself laughing a lot; Theodora just had that effect on him. Her smile was infectious, and her stories never failed to amuse him.

Just as they neared the entrance, the Ravenclaw felt his foot slide out from under him. His arms flailed wildly as he tried to maintain his balance, but it was no use. He was about to fall. The slick, unmistakable smell of vinegar filled his nostrils, and he realised he had slipped on a large puddle of the stuff.

In the background, loud giggles erupted, echoing through the corridor. Peeves floated nearby, clutching his sides as he laughed loudly. "Look at Fumbling Felix!" Peeves crowed.

Theo had attempted to convince her friend that he did not need to walk her all the way back to the Hufflepuff common room. It was nearly the complete opposite direction of the Ravenclaw tower, and he would have a long journey upwards to get back… but Felix wouldn’t hear it, of course, the gentleman he was.

He was a better friend than anyone deserved, and truthfully Theo treasured these walks with him, so perhaps a little longer of a journey wasn’t necessarily a bad thing.

They had fallen into easy conversation. Theo, who was animated in her retelling of Professor Ronan’s milk antics, enjoyed each laugh she earned from Felix.

“I’m not making it up- I swear on Merlin’s grave he looked directly at me while he did it! I could scarcely look at milk the same way for a week. You’re braver than I am Felix, I cannot believe you drank the triple nut milk-”

It happened all of a sudden, Theo cutting off mid sentence eyes widening as Felix’s foot slipped in the vinegar, “Felix!”

She lunged to try and grab him, catching him clumsily, securing her own arms under his as they stumbled together in the vinegar, the liquid splashing all over them both. Felix was a little heavy, being much taller than she was, but she stubbornly kept her arms firm around him to ensure he didn’t accidentally slip again.

Once convinced he was secure, she cursed very loudly, and not very nicely in the direction of the insufferable ghost. The string of words were something she would not repeat in more civilized conversations, paired with a promise of hexing him well into the after life if he ever said anything about Felix again.

“....YOU SHOULD BE GLAD YOU HAVE NO LIMBS OF YOUR OWN BECAUSE I’D TURN THEM EACH TO NOODLES.”

Her eyes darted back to Felix full of concern, “Are you okay, Felix?! You didn’t get hurt did you?”

"No, I-I’m okay. It was just a nightmare. Go back to sleep.” (Theo to Felix)

Sleep, like a leaden blanket, weighed Felix' body down. At first he he was only capable of turning his head, squinting against the tiredness and the darkness that painted his partner's face in nightly shades of grey. It was all that he needed, just a look at Theo, to give him the strength to turn around, sluggishly though, like he was swimming through cold syrup. Just so that he could put a tattooed arm around the man he loved and kiss him gently between the eyes.

"You're shaking," Felix noted, whispering, before he fell silent again. He just held Theo in his arms, heads touching, the sound of their breathing, the occasional rustling of the sheets the only sound that filled the silence for a little while. "Do you want to go back to sleep?," Felix asked eventually, "Or do you want to talk about it, perhaps over a nice cup of hot cocoa?"

Vic had never felt a pain as overwhelming as this.

He's felt pain before, obviously. When he was younger, he almost broke his leg during his first mission. He's been shot at before, stabbed a couple of times, definitely broke his arm once.

But nothing could really compare to this.

He had been ambushed on his mission, overwhelmed by the sheer number of guards that came after him. He definitely should have listened to Felix and at least brought back up, but he was too stubborn to do so. Too afraid to endanger anyone else.

And now here he was, bleeding out of his chest. The guards were incompetent, sure, but he was pretty sure they had punctured a lung, or at least the area around one.

It was excruciating. His vision faded in and out, his breaths coming out in shallow pants, a sweat building on his forehead as he stumbled his way back to the base.

He had to get back, he had to make it back home. He promised Cindy that he'd be there when she played her new piece. Promised Token that he'd let them try one of his cigarettes (but he obviously wasn't going to). Promised Trix that he'd return safely, even when they both knew that was never a certainty.

He struggled, clutching his chest as he stumbled about like he was drunk. He wished he was drunk. Maybe it could make him forget about the pain.

He collapsed when he was a couple blocks away from base. He knew that someone would find him eventually while on patrol. He just hoped it'd be soon.

He leaned against a building, attempting to catch his breath while the pain refused to cease. He gasped, and not for the first time, his life flashed before his eyes.

He could see the entire resistance, laughing and joking even when they were supposed to be taking their planning seriously. He could see his old groups, the kind adults that shared their bread with a stowaway like him. He could see Trix, clinging onto him after a particularly rough beating by their Guardian.

...He could see Theo and Pale, sitting with him in the grass, listening to his ramblings.

He didn't even realize it, but he was mumbling to himself. It was mostly nonsense, he was far too delirious to even think. But, as he was starting to black out, as he could see someone's faint figure, as he could hear his name being called, he could only mumble two old nicknames to himself.

"...Signs...Glasses..."

(signs and glasses are his nicknames for theo and pale <3)
