No way did Nimmie Amee think Nick Chopper was more attractive AFTER he was turned into the Tin Woodman. And she only became interested in Captain Fyter after he started losing limbs and getting them replaced with tin.
She should have been on tumblr in 2015 she would have done numbers on this website.

I get that they made Fiyero the Scarecrow, because Elphaba has a hope spot that he’s him, in the book.
And I ABSOLUTELY HOPE they depict his transformation on-screen, during “No Good Deed.”
But, I think not making him the Tin Soldier is such a missed opportunity:
Like Baum’s Nick Chopper, Fiyero values Heart over Brains, which would bring another connection between the two Tin Men.
In Act II, he is made the Captain of the Guard.
It would also fix the timeline stuff.
Tigelaar, if I recall, was a musical creation, and we also never got a first name for Captain Fyter, either. Fiyero Fyter would’ve had a nice ring to it.*
*Incidentally, so would’ve Mombi Morrible, but that’s neither here nor there. And don’t get me started on what they did to Boq.

Christmas, in my family, begins to be celebrated today, December 8th, the day of the Immaculate Conception. And there is nothing more Christmassy in my opinion than the Nutcracker 🎄 I love this show, last year I went to see the on-ice version and it was beautiful 😍☃️❄️ And of course I couldn't celebrate the beginning of the holidays without my beloved Bruno 💚⌛✨
Let the magic of Christmas begin! 🎇🎄🎁

I made a gif edit of Golden and Porsha based on House of Mouse 🥰
The first time it came out all fuzzy and glittery cuz of Procreate but tbh I like the effect, it looks aesthetic haha 😁

So, it's been a while since I did any, but I'm back to One Piece posting and I'm really annoyed at the end of Dressrosa, when Luffy turns down the Straw Hat Armada.
He doesn't say it based on pirates being free or whatever, it just seems like an immaturity to go "I don't wanna be a big shot". There seems to be a serious lack of growth here especially when you compare this with him making the call for the crew to be apart for 2 years to grow in their strength. That was a captain making a decision for the betterment of his crew, his quest, the fight against the world navy. It was growth. Stepping into the power vacuum Whitebeard left in an attempt to rescue him, Luffy owes Whitebeard for that to be the next one in that role and to go toe to toe with Blackbeard.

16, 17, and 20 for the tin soldier Kipps series
Ooh these are good ones!
16. By far the easiest scenes to write were parts 1 and 2 of lavender haze. Part 1 was supposed to be a quick one-off flash fic. I woke up a couple weeks, maybe a month or so later and chose violence and wrote the second part from my bed.
17. I really struggled with Turncoat. I hadn’t done creative writing for a long time until I joined this fandom and this was still pretty early. The first two scenes came easily, the rest were like pulling teeth because I didn’t know what this was at all—I had meant to make it just a quick little flash with angsty vibes. @cats-and-metersticks really pushed me to give Kipps an arc and I’m really glad she did. @justice-for-skull also did a lot of heavy lifting in terms of making me think about what I wanted this fic to do. I’m really grateful to both of them—it’s one of the favorite things I’ve written.
20. The people who’ve read this series are really sharp and saw how much I packed in to very little space. It’s always so much fun to read the comments, and on this series it’s been quite gratifying. There’s a little exchange in we may not live to see our glory that was inspired by The Story of Tonight (Reprise) that I think a lot of people miss. I think @hailqiqi was the only one who got it:
Suddenly, the mask comes back, and Lockwood scoffs. “Well, that’s the difference between you and me, isn’t it? Careful doesn’t make the headlines, Kipps.”
This boy is exhausting. “There are things more important than headlines, Tony.”
Lockwood shakes his head and chuckles ruefully. “I’ll see you on the other side of this winter, Kipps.”
He wants to reach out to him, grip his shoulder and tell him that Jessy would want him to be careful. But he doesn’t. He just sighs and says, “See you in the spring.” And honestly, I also just wish more people read it 😅 alas character studies aren’t super popular, but I think this is by far some of my strongest work.
Thank you so much for the asks!

Something I did like about The Tin Woodman of Oz, though people watching me liveblog it saw momentary frustration, was the resolution and the way the romance was handled.
The Tin Woodman's approach to romancing Nimmie Amee is mostly ego and farce. He assumes she'll still be in love with him because of his grand idea of himself and what women want. He also feels social pressure to fulfill this dream for her because he sees it as his role as a man to make her happy as a woman through marriage. This, the Tin Soldier's similar view, and Woot's naive and misogynistic viewpoints of a young boy who is almost a man, drive home the folly of the whole thing.
The resolution where Nimmie Amee points out they never asked her opinion, and that she is perfectly content with the life she chose points out the foolishness of the men in the book (Polychrome never fully supported the endeavor and laughs the whole way through) and also depicts a mature and multi-faceted woman making her own choices, a powerful feminist statement in 1918.
The undertone where both men do not really want to be with her, prefer the company of their male companions, are relieved to be released from their engagements, and only seek her out to fulfill social obligations has a weird ring today. I don't know enough about Baum to know if this was intended to have a bizarre queer undertone, but over 100 years later it feels that way.
