Optimus Prime as a Father Figure Hcs
(A/N- You can imagine any version of Optimus Prime like the g1 series, movies, etc. I hope y’all enjoy this wholesome post)
(Warning: Random platonic and wholesome hcs)

- He’s good at giving advice, though it honestly depends on what you need advice about. He’s always there to listen if you ever need to talk.
- He always lets you know that you can count on him for anything.
- The other Autobots are like brothers to you, especially Bumblebee. Sometimes you all will be hanging out, having fun, and Prime will watch over y’all with a smile on his face.
- Speaking of the other Autobots, they are protective of you. Not overly protective but like in a big brother way, y’know?
- Optimus will take extra precautions to ensure your safety. Since you’re close to the Autobots, the Decepticon’s might plan to capture you as bait or some other heinous plan. He’ll be damned if he lets Megatron hurt you.
- Sometimes when the both of you have free time to spare, y’all and some of the others will watch the sunset together or stargaze. Sharing stories and hanging out.
- Speaking of sharing stories, Optimus has some interesting stories. They’re mainly about Cybertron and fighting but still entertaining. He also tells you what it’s like back on his planet.
- A good listener. He’ll listen to you ramble and talk about your interests/hobbies. Even though he may not completely understand it.
- Doesn’t know slang at all so when he hears you say any type of slang he’ll be confused. He’ll ask you what it means and will sound like a grandpa too.
- If you’re ever going through some mental health issues, he’ll ask about your symptoms and what you’re diagnosed with. So that he can do some research on how to help and support you.
..

Return of the Autobots
Part One
After the devastating battle in Chicago almost 18 years ago, the world was left in ruins, and the Autobots were hunted down by humanity, who feared their power. The government had declared war on the Transformers, believing that all alien robots were a threat to Earth’s survival. But a new and even greater danger is rising.
When the daughter of a struggling inventor, Zayla Yeager, discovers an ancient Transformer buried beneath the wreckage of a long-forgotten city, she unwittingly awakens an unstoppable force. The Transformer, known as Optimus Prime, along with his Autobot allies, must now face a terrifying new enemy: a powerful alien race led by the ruthless Lockdown, and a secret government programme determined to eliminate all Transformers.
As the fate of both the Autobots and humanity hangs in the balance, Zayla must face her fears and help Optimus and the Autobots protect Earth from extinction.
This story takes place 18 years after the Chicago incident. Zayla Yeager, the reader's perspective character, will replace Cade Yeager's daughter in the film. Still, you can adjust the details I will be using for Zayla's character to suit yourself or however you think this character should be portrayed. (Zayla is going to be half Indian, half American, as I always imagine myself as the characters in my favourite films. So Zayla's mum and Cade Yeager’s wife is Indian, and obviously Cade is American.) Also note that this story of mine will focus more on the relationship between Bee and Zayla, instead of Cade and Optimus, as in the original film.
================================================
"Omg, I cannot believe him. I'll call you later, babe." I cut the video call on my laptop with my boyfriend immediately, not waiting for a reply as I saw my dad directing a tow truck to place a broken and wrecked-looking truck down on our driveway.
Groaning on my way downstairs, I think to myself, How can he be so inconsiderate!? Bringing another piece of junk home to tear it apart in hopes he can sell the scrap for some money?
"Dad!? Are you serious right now?! Please tell me you didn’t spend our money on this crap truck." I can barely control my anger as I stomp my way in front of my dad and our friend Lucas.
"Hey! Language! Watch it, young lady." Of course, that’s the first thing my dad chooses to pick up on from what I just said. But I didn’t get to question it before Lucas cuts in.
"Actually, he spent my money. A hundred and fifty bucks of it."
"As an advance on your regular pay, which you will get back."
"When?"
"Never, Lucas, if you haven’t noticed, we’re broke." I can't help but snap back, ending their useless discussion on something that literally doesn’t exist.
To which my dad grumbles at me about driving a wedge between employer and employee, words which Lucas finds conflicting. But that conversation doesn’t last long either as my dad decides he wants to pick on me and my clothing choices.
"Can you two get off my case? You just don’t get how much I can get out of this truck and its engine. I can break it down and strip it for parts. And sweetheart, your shorts are shrinking by the second, okay? Cold water, air dry, please."
Not able to stand the sight of my dad at the moment, I roll my eyes and walk off before I say something I don’t mean.
"I think she looks hot." Lucas casually throws the remark at Cade, catching him off guard. "What did you just say?" Cade tilts his head at Lucas, thinking he heard him wrong, his protective dad instincts firing up. "Like a hot teenager." "Yeah, like the teenager part makes that any better," Cade grumbles back, clearly taken aback by his friend's weird comments about his daughter.
--------
I walked into the barn later that afternoon to give Dad my papers on all my denied and late notices for financial aid for my college. Lucas is over on the recliner, trying to get one of Dad's contraptions to deliver him a beer from the fridge, while I am still trying to get Dad to realize that he needs to stop turning junk into more junk. But I’m not allowed to call it that because the "J" word isn’t allowed in this household.
But before anything else can be said, once again, I’m cut off as the ‘purple people eater’s back, and she looks hungry’ – his words. My dad grabs a baseball bat and rushes outside. And oh! Look at that! He’s scaring them off again. But she doesn’t leave quietly, she drives right onto our grass and through our fence! Which makes my dad just love them even more!
"We’re stealing power now? Just awesome, Dad. Once I’m gone after graduating, who’s going to take care of you, huh?" Clearly, that was shocking because he doesn’t think I take care of him, as he lists the small things he’s taught me to do. "Well, who taught you to cook without using ketchup or how to balance your checkbook? Who always has to be the grown-up around here?" Now that that’s clear and I’ve said my piece, he reassures me and reminds me that my mum would be so proud of me before he walks off back into the barn. All I can do is look up at the sky and smile bitterly, happy at what my dad said but also sad that my mum can’t be here to witness it for herself in person.
After eating dinner alone once again, I make my way back into the barn with dinner, where my dad is trying to fix one of his robots. "You see now why I worry. How about you eat your dinner and take a break?"
After convincing Cade to take a rest and eat his dinner, Zayla goes off for a drive with her friends, but not before Cade gives her a "be responsible" and "no boys" talk.
After eating his dinner, Cade stands outside their family home, looking up at the stars, having a short-lasting conversation with his wife before a ruckus in the barn has Cade running over. One of his robots started malfunctioning and created a fire, which, after promptly putting out, Cade decided to turn his attention towards the truck that sits in his barn.
"Something in here needs to make this family some money. Come on, now you old wreck, judgement day." Cade speaks to himself, standing in front of the wrecked truck.
------
"Where is he?" Lucas asks me from the driveway below.
"I don’t know!" I yell back, throwing my hands out in equal frustration as Lucas before heading downstairs to the patio.
"Zayla, I’m basically your uncle. Su casa es mi casa. And we’re going to lose the casa," Lucas says, holding up the eviction notice that was stuck to our front door.
Getting fed up with this, I make my way over to the barn, where I know for a fact my dad is fussing about with one of his junk pieces.
"Guys, you have never seen a truck like this before. Get in here. Lock that door," my dad says, grabbing my hand instantly and dragging me and Lucas into the barn.
"It doesn’t have a lock," Lucas responds, confused but still complies as much as he’s able before coming inside.
"Look! Look at the hole in the radiator! Look at the size of it! Something blew a hole in it!" Dad says excitedly before he runs up the ladder of his moving scaffold or whatever you call it.
"It’s not normal steel! The shrapnel in its engine, it ripped all the connections apart. And watch. This took some Cade genius. You’re going to love this! When I hook this back to a working battery..."
"Calling all... calling all Autobots."
"Oh yeah. I don’t think it’s a truck at all. I think we just found a Transformer."
"Run! Evacuate!" Lucas yells, dragging me out of the barn with him, Dad following closely behind.
"Dad, that’s impossible. A Transformer hasn’t been seen in almost 18 years! The only Transformer the government has found these days is whatever's left under the destruction in Chicago!"
"You know what? That’s not a truck, okay? You’re right. It’s an alien killing machine. Jesus." Lucas says.
"Dude, it’s DOA. It’s been recalled, totalled, done." Dad says to Lucas.
"There’s a number you’re supposed to call. You’re supposed to call the government. It’s the American thing to do. And if you call and it ends up being an alien, then you win $25,000." Lucas says to dad but he just walks back into the barn, me and Lucas follow behind.
"Twenty-five grand! It pays for my college. Hell, it will pay for the house!" I yell after dad.
"This is crazy, Dad, and you know it," I say, shaking my head at my dad, disappointed.
"Alright. Bring the torch over and help me with the pulley arm. I think the shrapnel took out its power core. Oh, and Zayla, you see this!" Dad hits the truck with his hammer.
"Would an alien killing machine let me do that? Look, we’ll make the call. Just let me see if I’m right, then we can get the money."
Going back to the house, I decide to get myself a drink to cool down while Dad and Lucas figure that crap out. I mean, it’s been almost 18 years since Chicago! What’s the bet that a truck my dad finds in a junkyard is this supposed Transformer!? Too busy yelling to myself, I fail to notice the very much active missile flying right towards me. Yelling, I hide in our laundry room as I hear it fly around the house, bumping into countless pieces of furniture.
"DAD!! THERE’S A MISSILE IN THE FAMILY ROOM!" I yell, running into the barn. But that’s not the end of my surprise, because as soon as I’m standing between Dad and the truck, the said truck decides to transform into whatever robot alien thing it is.
The thing is yelling in what sounds like pain, but all I can focus on right now is making myself as small as I can and protecting my head from the things the alien is knocking around.
"I’ll kill you! I’ll kill you!!" It screams, getting up to its full height before pointing its gun at me on the ground in front of it.

Hours after the humans had settled down and the fire began to cool, Optimus found that he still couldn’t find it in himself to recharge. He was too tense after having seen for himself just what Cemetery Wind did to his Autobots. They’d lost their lives for no reason.
They will pay. All of them. That much, he was certain.
So focused was he, optics trained on the horizon for any sign of activity and audials tuned to almost the highest sensitivity, that when he heard the slightest shift of fabric behind him his armor flared defensively and his helm snapped around on reflex.
It took several seconds for him to recognize that you had flipped over onto your other side, facing him but not looking at him. Instead, your eyes were glassy and distant, your face layered with a thin sheen of sweat. He heard the subtle quiver in your breaths filling your lungs and leaving your lips.
He remained still and silent as you sat up slowly and rubbed your face, seeming to shake yourself out of whatever trance you’d been trapped in. He could only describe the look on your face as haunted.
“Are you all right?”
You jumped minutely and he bit his glossa when he realized he’d spoken aloud.
“My apologies,” he rumbled softly, being mindful of your slumbering kinsmen. “I didn’t mean to startle you.”
You blinked up at him, still looking a bit sleepy, but you sighed quietly and stood, stepping carefully away from the other humans and pausing by the fire. You pursed your lips and grabbed a few branches of brush that was lying nearby, tossing them into its smoldering depths and stirring it back to life with a long stick nearby. The flames crackled with new vitality, soaking the surrounding area with a warm orange glow. You glanced towards the others, then made your way over to him.
“Trouble sleeping?” you asked, settling near him but still close enough to the fire’s reach that you wouldn’t be caught by the desert night’s chill.
“Remaining on guard,” he said, lifting his optics back up to the horizon. He spied a couple of coyotes near a rock formation far, far away, probably clinging to the shadows on the hunt for less fortunate prey. Nearer the thick line of brush that lined the clearing they’d settled in for the night, he could see a rabbit nibbling on what little greenery had survived the harsh heat and sun the desert provided. “We’re in an open area. It would be easy to find us.”
“We’ve got the cover of night and these mesas,” you told him, somewhat assuringly. “I’m sure we’ll be okay for tonight.” You paused, then he felt your tiny (so tiny) palm touch the back of his comparatively massive servo. “Have you slept at all?”
“I don’t need to, presently,” he told you. “Cybertronians don’t need to recharge as frequently as humans do.”
“But you’re tired.”
Your observation caused him to tear his optics away from his surroundings and refocus on you. You were peering up at him, brows furrowed and eyes troubled. You looked concerned.
“I am,” he admitted, not seeing any reason to deny it.
You studied him a long moment, and he felt your fingers twitch over the cool metal plating covering the sensitive cabling and wires of his servo.
“I had another nightmare,” you said quietly, dropping your gaze to your hand. You traced along the edge of the plate, seeming to take note of the lack of scratches.
“I am sorry,” he responded sincerely.
“It’s okay,” you said, slumping against his wrist and resting your head there. “It happens. I don’t think I’ll get over them for a long time yet.” You drummed your fingertips against his servo and sighed. “But it wasn’t the usual. I dreamed I lost Cade, and Tessa.” You hesitated, then added more softly, “You.”
He blinked slowly, taken aback by the somberness in your voice. “You needn’t worry,” he assured you. “I will defend your family with my life.”
“That’s what I’m worried about.”
His optical ridges rose faintly.
“Cemetery Wind’s dangerous. They don’t have a conscience,” you continued. “They wouldn’t hesitate to kill you on the spot, especially if you’re trying to protect us.”
“I am fully capable of defending myself, Miss Yeager,” he reminded you.
“But you got hurt last time,” you whispered. Your fingers tightened over the edge of the plating.
“Assuming a new altmode repaired what few injuries I acquired,” he reassured you gently. “I am all right.”
You sighed. “But they could hurt you again.”
He ex-vented and shifted back enough that you looked up to him. “That will always be a possibility. I am a warrior.” He paused. “But...I will try my best to stay out of harm’s way.”
This seemed to put you at ease, no matter how little.
There was a lapse of silence, and Optimus felt the tension drain from his frame the longer he heard your evening breaths and felt the faintest thrum of your heartbeat against his wrist. Knowing you were worried for him...it helped, in a way he couldn’t quite describe.
“What do you think’s going to happen?” you asked finally, breaking the quiet.
“I do not know,” Optimus replied truthfully. “But I am hoping for the best.” He paused. “How is Cade?”
“Cade’s...Cade.” You chuckled a little, though he noticed it wasn’t very mirthful. “I think we’re both stressed right now.”
Optimus ex-vented. “I...I am sorry for putting your family in danger.”
You shifted away from his wrist and he looked down, only to find you were giving him a nearly scolding look. “Optimus, we’ve been over this. We figured this would happen - we hoped it wouldn’t, but we knew it was a possibility from the beginning. I’m not happy about losing the house, but at least my family’s safe. And...that’s only thanks to you.” You paused. “The house was getting repo’ed anyway.”
Optimus felt his mouth curl downward. “You do not regret...this?”
“What is there to regret?” you asked him, raising a brow. “We were going to end up in a potentially worse situation, anyway.” You laughed a little. “At least this is a little more exciting.”
He shook his helm. “You consider almost losing your life ‘exciting’.”
“No. But this is better than getting evicted and living out on the streets, in a way.” You shrugged. “At least we’re safe. At least we’re with you.”
Optimus murmured an acknowledgment, puzzling over your words. You did have a fair point. Since you’d denied the possibility of getting governmental compensation for ‘spotting’ him, the likeliness that you could’ve paid off your debts was extremely small. And...Optimus felt better knowing he could keep you safe, so long as he was able.
The mech tilted his helm back, gazing up at the smattering of stars above him. It reminded him...
“What do you think of Shane?”
He blinked and dropped his optics back to you. Your brow was furrowed with thought.
“It’s plain that he’s endured hardships,” he said carefully. “And he seems to care for Tessa despite it.”
You hummed.
“What do you think of him?” he inquired.
“I...don’t know yet,” you admitted. “I guess I need to be around him a bit longer. He seems fine, if not a bit smartassy, but, hey...he’ll fit right in if that’s the least of his problems.”
Optimus let out a soft ex-vent, feeling the edges of his mouth quirk upward. He looked towards the young companions in question, seeing how they’d clasped hands even in their sleep. He studied them a long moment, but he found his gaze drifting back to you.
"Do you…” He cleared his intake. “Do you have a...one such as they?" he inquired tentatively, not able to find the right word. "I understand that Cade was against pursuing any relationships while in your household while Tessa was completing her education."
"Me?" you scoffed. "I've never had a lasting relationship. Never felt right." You shook your head slowly. "But what Cade and Emily had was different. Special." You breathed out quietly, tilting your head back to gaze up at the stars glittering amongst the inky black expanse of the sky. "If I believed in soulmates, I'd say they were pretty damned close."
Optimus regarded you with soft optics. "Perhaps the fault was with your previous partners."
You paused, considering. Then you sighed, heavily and wearily. "No. It was probably me. I've...never been very good with relationships. I’m not very affectionate, and I’ve never been pretty enough to be shown off to all a guy’s friends." You chuckled humorlessly. "Guess that translated well into me becoming a marine. No one gives you a second glance most of the time - unless you've got a bullet embedded in your shoulder."
The Prime shifted, concern creasing the minute plates on his face. "Do you think of yourself as unattractive?"
You obviously didn't expect the question, because you looked up at him with wide eyes, speechless.
"I find you appealing," he continued, voice a quiet rumble against the quiet crackle of flames and faint snores coming from the pile of sleeping bodies near the bonfire. "You are attractive...at least, I believe so. For a human."
Somewhere in the back of his processor, he hoped none of the others would hear. But...somewhere in the back of his processor, he found that a tiny part of himself didn't particularly care if they did.
You continued to stare at him, shock obvious in the whites of your eyes and the slack in your jaw. Your face darkened into a rather fetching shade while you turned sharply away from him to look back towards the bonfire. Optimus felt something warm linger within his sparkchamber.
"I...thank you," you managed after quite a long moment of floundering. "I guess. 'For a human'?"
Optimus simply shrugged a shoulder. "Humans are not quite like Cybertronians."
"That's true," you admitted. You hesitated, and he saw you chew at your lip while the blush revisited your cheeks. "You are, too. Attractive, I mean. Solid eight out of ten. For a Cybertronian."
Bemused by your choice of words but flattered nonetheless, Optimus tried to will away the thrum that swelled within his engines.
There was a long pause, which was broken by your fidgeting. "So...what about you?"
"Hmm?"
"Do you have a...?" You gesticulated, looking for the word. Glancing over at Shane and Tessa, you settled for his. "...'one such as they'?"
Optimus hesitated. He hadn't spoken of her in a very long time. He'd scarcely allowed himself to even think of her, being too preoccupied with the war and the massive responsibilities weighing upon him and his ability to remain focused. In some ways, being distracted was a good thing. In others...he’d hardly had time to truly mourn, and a sad numbness had taken its place long ago. But, now, with you sitting there, looking up at him with genuine curiosity and vague empathy as his silence drew on…
She would have liked you. You shared many similarities, now that he thought about it.
"To most, her name was Elita One. To me, she was Ariel." He ex-vented slowly, raising his optics up to the mantle stretched above him. Stars simultaneously familiar and alien twinkled softly amongst the dark swathe of black. "My conjunx endura...a cross between a spouse and a soulmate, in your Earth terms. Inamorata would be the most fitting word."
Something in his voice must've put pause to your response. When you didn't speak, he looked down to you, curious. You seemed to understand his unspoken implication.
"I'm sorry," you murmured, eyes saddened with sympathy.
He dipped his helm. "It has been a long time. However...her memory is very much alive in those she touched." He paused, considering. He met your eyes. "You would have gotten along very well."
You smiled, though perhaps a bit uncertainly. He noticed your countenance was, once again, tinged with a darker shade.
He wondered why.
“What was she like?” you asked, tentatively. Your tone told him that he had the choice to not elaborate any further, should he wish so.
“Immensely bright, in more ways than one,” he rumbled, taking in the way your hair glowed molten gold in the firelight. “She always had a way of making even the worst days more bearable. She kept the Autobots’ hope alive whenever everything seemed hopeless. She was beautiful, and far more intelligent than I.” He paused, tracing the curve of your face with his optics. “She was fiercely protective of those she cared for, loyal like no other I have ever met.” He felt himself smile. “Except you.”
You stared at him, lips parted slightly. You blinked rapidly and swallowed, dropping your head and tugging at the hem of your shirt.
He tilted his helm curiously.
“Uh, she…” You cleared your throat. “She seems like she was a pretty badass person.” You hesitated, then said much more softly, “You must’ve loved her a lot.”
“I did.” He ex-vented softly. “There are times, when hope seems pointless, that I wish she still remained by my side. But...I’ve found new hope.” He caught your eye. “You’ve given it back to me, and for that I will never be able to thank you enough.”
Never had he seen a human so flustered - not even when Cade got embarrassed, though he supposed it ran in the family. Your face contorted into a clear expression of surprise, eyes dark. Finally, after some of the color had drained from your cheeks, you croaked, “She ever tell you you’ve got a silver tongue?”
He laughed, not having expected your words. He felt mirth warm his insides, lighting him up like it hadn’t in so, so long. He hid his smile with a servo, watching as his rumbling chuckle seemed to have an even more profound effect on your body language.
Did he truly have that much of an effect on you?
“It is not intentional,” he told you truthfully, though he wondered how flustered he could make you if he actually tried. “But I appreciate the sentiment.”
You smiled tentatively, though he could tell it was genuine by the way your eyes glittered with firelight and happiness. “...You’ve got a beautiful smile, you know that?”
Whumph!
Optimus’ optical ridges shot up as his cooling fans kicked on so suddenly it almost made him grunt. You seemed just as taken aback as he was, though after a split second more you began to laugh hard enough you had to smother it for fear of waking the others.
Optimus was suddenly thankful the others were still asleep. Particularly Hound. And Bumblebee. They would never let him live it down. Crosshairs would rag on him about it, but not in person - he was too intimidated by Optimus to bring it up while he was around. Drift was quiet-natured enough to keep it to himself.
You seemed to have the same effect on him.
Optimus dropped his brightly glowing optics, the mirth on your face almost too bright to look at. Like a raw spark.
“...Thank you,” he managed finally, trying to keep his voice even.
You dropped your hand to reveal the brightest smile he’d seen from you, eyes sparkling with amusement and...fondness?
His spark thrummed.
“You’re welcome,” you said sincerely, gazing at him for a long moment. A yawn on your part broke the intensity of the moment, however, and he watched in bemusement as you seemed to tire before his optics.
“I should...we should probably try to get some rest,” you said finally, rubbing at your eyes. You smiled again. “Thank you for staying up with me.”
“You are welcome,” he responded, not truly knowing what else to say. He watched as you stood and stepped quietly back over to the trio of slumbering humans, picking your way between them and settling down next to Tessa on your side away from him. He waited until your side began to rise and fall with lengthened breaths indicating sleep before shifting back far enough away to close the loose perimeter the other Autobots had made.
The quiet, static-laced refrain of “Can You Feel the Love Tonight?” coming from Bumblebee’s general direction and Hound’s suppressed snicker almost made his cooling fans kick back on, but he suppressed the command and ignored them in favor of settling on his back to stare at the expanse of stars above him. He couldn’t pick out any of Cybertron’s old constellations, but...for some reason it didn’t strike him as empty as it usually did. He found the hunter Orion, his club raised high above his head, and old memories from a time long past flitted across the forefront of Optimus’ processor. He dismissed them after a long moment of retrospect, settling further into the still-warm sand beneath him and offlining his optics.
No matter what happened, he couldn’t stop. He owed Elita that much.
He owed you that much.

Movie Review | Transformers: Age of Extinction (Bay, 2014)

It’s pretty funny how this sets up Mark Wahlberg, inexplicably cast as a genius inventor, as some kind of heartland hero and lays on the Americana real thick during the first few minutes, only to have him turn whiny and insecure for the rest of the movie. I remember hoping that the change from Shia to Marky Mark might mean that we would get a conventionally appealing protagonist in one of these, but nope. I will say that both actors do exasperation well.
While the second movie was pretty unambiguously pro robot death squad, this one is bold enough to suggest that death squads might actually be a bad thing. Actually, the fact that the villains here are basically Robot ICE and speak of the Autobots in othered, demonized terms means that it hits differently watching it now.
I’ve found the robots pretty charmless on the whole, exact except for maybe Bumblebee, who has cute ears if you look for them. But this entry throws in a few cool ones, like Samurai Bot and Cigar Chomping John Goodman Bot. There are also the Dinobots, which the trailer hyped heavily, but don’t show up until after the two hour mark.
Like other blockbusters at the time, this was clearly trying to tap into the Chinese box office, and like a lot of those, it makes the mistake of casting stars from Chinese cinema and giving them nothing interesting to do. But Bay does have fun tearing apart Hong Kong, both its modern side and its more rustic side.
Watching these movies one after the other helps to appreciate the differences in Bay’s style as they progress. This one has a good deal more lens flare than the previous entries, and less grain, as more of it is shot digitally, although Bay retains a healthy sense of colour and contrast and avoids the pitfalls of much of digital cinematography.
He also retains the longer shot lengths and more intuitive shot sequencing of the previous movie, but the set pieces are less organized and devoted to a consistent vantage point. What’s here is impressive in isolation, but especially in the context of a lumpy, almost 3-hour movie which veers into the action at odd intervals, I did not find myself as thrilled as I’d like.

Transformers: Age of Extinction (2014) dir. Michael Bay. 7.5/10
I wouldn't recommend this movie to my friends. I wouldn't rewatch this movie.
omg these poor dinosaurs. Lucas's death really just happened. That missile through Optimus hurt me.
I truly don't think I care for the plot as much, but just seeing all these Transformers are so cool. Lockdown's spacecraft is so cool. The weaponry area and the weapons are cool. I like how brave Cade is. Transforming dinosaurs are hella cool.
I don't think the new transformers transforming is as cool as the og ones doing so. But, it does help me understand how they can change into anything better. I truly am uninvested in Tessa and her boyfriend.

REVIEW: While perhaps a bit too long, Transformers: Age of Extinction is very entertaining, stylish and well directed, with giant and epic action set pieces.
