I love the thought of snarking becoming a bit of a love language between Blitz and Via. Via feeling secure enough to know nothing she says can really push Blitz away or come between either of them and Stolas while Blitz finds familiarity in affectionate razzing as bonding. I tried a lot of different stuff with this one artistically, and I'm pretty happy with all of it! I'm not sure if I'll ever settle into a consistent comic style, but I'm having lots of fun 😌 Bonus doodle comic of a slightly rough start below the cut! 😂

Random Setting

Danny was honestly close to using the w word, which with Desiree being a possibility was not the greatest idea, but that is how bad things had gotten. Clockwork had told him he had reached the point where he needed to create his own summon sigil, as if he waited too long he would be considered a free roaming entity that could be pulled at random.

He hadn’t even procrastinated either, it’s just that making your own sigil has a lot of steps and he hadn’t manage to finish before the summons started happening. Luckily it wasn’t permanent, once he finished the sigil it would stop. Unfortunately he still had school and there wasn’t a specific time of when he would be summoned.

Trying to hide it wouldn’t work with his usual method, so he decided to fib and told both his parents and Mr. Lancer that he got tagged by some ghost and he may show some powers or something might happen. His parents had put him through a series of scans with their inventions and luckily found nothing.

It was the next day that Danny had been summoned right in the middle of class. It was easy to end the summons and be sent back (just being some college kids having fun) but now the school knew he could disappear at random.

After a month of this, Danny had just about finished the sigil when he felt the summons again. He couldn’t help but let out a deep exasperated sigh when he appeared above some costumed guys restrained in a circle, obvious cultists talking about the Ghost King and cleansing the city.

Ugh, he can already tell this is going to be a whole mess.

Wei Wuxian ! Pro cyclist turned bike courier turned pro cyclist again??? Or is it a fluke??

WQ convinces wwx to enter into a road race in Gusu, where lwj is also competing and has been the race leader for the past 3 years. Wwx shocks everyone by hiding in the pack and at the last minute, breaks away and beats lwj to the finish line of the mountain checkpoint by using short intervals of an odd sprint climbing technique lwj hasnt seen before. He ends up winning and earns the title King of the Mountains, unseating lwj from the title and royally pissing him off in the process.

The long sloping mountains of Gusu are Lwj’s home, and he has trained there every day for the past 10 years. Climbing is his specialty, he’s honed his technique, perfected it. He gets to the top faster than anyone else. Until now.

Lwj is looking forward to returning the favor at the next race, but wwx never shows. Months later, lwj happens to be in Yiling training for his next race and in a chance encounter, crosses paths again with wwx while he’s on delivery. Yiling has very steep, short hills all throughout the city, which is why lwj is there to take advantage of them. Now lwj can see where wwx learned his sprint-climb technique, if this is the terrain he bikes all day long.

Wwx is delighted to see the handsome cyclist he almost lost to, but doesnt have time to stand around and chat— he has deliveries to complete!! He lets lwj come along with him, if he can keep up of course ;) it’s gruelling lwj has to admit, but he does keep up and atthe end of the day, he challenges wwx to enter another road race.

the circle's laws on marriage is so awesome btw. apostates can't legally marry. mages can't marry each other in 90% of circles. but a mage can theoretically marry a non-mage outsider (logically unsustainable given that 90% of mages cannot leave the circle and non-chantry civilians can't enter a circle and all communication between the circle and outside is heavily monitored) so mages do have marriage rights! hurray! ^_^

Okay but have we thought about how scary odysseus interacting with the gods /his knowledge about such things it must have been for his crew?

Its well known that odysseus is Athenas favorite, even before the Trojan war. But what does that look like from the outside? Are their conversations in some other plain? Does odysseus sometimes just glaze over and you just have to trust its a god speaking to him and not aome other fit? Out in the open? During the war odysseus was frequently doing really bizarre things on Athena's say so. Bit you also know your captain is a freak and lier so which is it this time? The gods will or odysseus just tucking with you? There's a little wariness there. But it's well known. And been like this forever.

But then you start encountering more monsters. More gods. They all talk to your captain. Your captain stops sleeping. Your go between for you and the captain starts committing crimes against the captain, starts bad mouthing him. More of your friends have died then in ten years of war. And every other day there's a new god talking to your captain. What mortal man has the interest of this many gods? What mortal man can get up in the gods faces to yell at them. What mortal man has the powers to overcome the witches they encounter the power to over turn gods spells? What mortal man's tongue is so gilded he convinces these powers to help them? And doubt comes creeping in.

I am absolutely obsessed with this new skirt
