Who assured me it was fine that he asked for vacation the way he did?” Porsche didn't answer.  Kinn sneered. “But by all means, go support him. I'm sure he'll appreciate it, coming from you.” There was a burning sensation at the pit of Porsche's stomach. There was something there that was making it difficult for him to breathe. He didn't know what it was.

hello :] !! i read ‘who holds the devil’ last month, it came to me when i was having a hard time in my life; when i was in a desperate need to forget everything around and ahead of me…your story did JUST THAT i was so utterly mesmerized and invested in your incredible storytelling and the absolute justice you did to complicated characters such as our yohan and gaon. i’ve read your snippets of yohan’s povs too and i really hope you write them more in the future, it’s so interesting to see his brain work and just how different his understanding of their relationship is…

I'm so sorry to hear that you were having a hard time, but I'm glad that my fic was able to offer you some comfort, at least. Sometimes, it really does help to have something else to focus on when things are rough. I hope things are better now, at least 💜

One of the main reasons why I even started writing this fic was because I realised that I wanted their story to continue but also that I had such a specific idea of how I wanted it to play out — and how I wanted the characters to behave — that the only way for me to get that was to write it myself. And I just love the characters so much that I couldn't help wanting to explore them and their story further, with as much detail and accuracy as possible. We were left with so many possibilities after the end of the drama! And so much trauma to unpack and heal from! I had to see how that would play out ;)

I'm glad you like Yo Han's POV 💜 Unfortunately, I'm not sure how much of his POV I'll write for that particular story since showing his thoughts kind of ruins the suspense of it all. Like, a part of the mystery is that Ga On doesn't know what Yo Han is thinking and, by extension, neither does the reader. Yo Han isn't supposed to be an easy man to read. Also, while Yo Han's POV is a lot of fun for me to write, it also makes me nervous. Because he's a lot of people's favourite character and my interpretation of what his thoughts and actions are like might not align with their ideas. Which is totally fine! We can all have different opinions. But some people can get pretty heated if he's not written in a way they approve of, or if he's portrayed in a way they don't think is flattering enough. So it's just less drama for me if I don't write Yo Han's POV too often xD

But I agree that it's very interesting! He does view their relationship quite differently and, just like Ga On, he has a lot of struggles and things he's feeling insecure about (especially right now considering everything that's happened). His doubts are just not as apparent since we don't see his thoughts. But trust me when I say that he has a lot of thoughts.

I almost feel like I should apologise. I swear I'm not trying to make you all so addicted to this fic, it just seems to happen x'D But I am of course delighted to hear that you're enjoying it! And I'm very grateful that you took the time to tell me. It means a lot 💜

I'm not doing the best, unfortunately, but I'm hanging in there. And I'm hoping to be able to write some on chapter 42 this coming weekend, in between all the household chores I have to get done. We'll see how it goes!

Fair warning that as of writing this post, the fic is currently unfinished. I know some people are hesitant to start fics in light of that, but even if a fic remains unfinished my general perspective is to proceed forward and appreciate what an author did share of their work and play around with the little plot bunnies that spring forth in my head.

With that said, some snippets and ramblings (spoilers, natch):

I've said this numerous times before how I'll give more leeway to individual short comics with the hyperbole being used to quickly and clearly deliver a punchline with a limited amount of time and space (like in the chapter 91 "Hayflick Effect" → "Hey! Flick!" bonus comic), but I hate when Emma is stripped of all her nuance to facilitate familiar shipping formulas. I understand how this snowballs from innocuous offhand jokes in the fandom, but it's unfortunate when these things overtake popular perception of her. She's emotionally intelligent and cunning (we see this early on when she's brazen enough to muse what Conny's up during her confrontation with Isabella in the hallway, all while keeping up the most cheerful front), so I always enjoy reading fic that keeps that balance in mind.

Beautiful, a simply beautiful exchange of greetings.

The preestablished Noremma is absolutely delightful. Another thing thing I've mentioned before is my dislike of Norman being extremely uncharacteristically nebbish or aggressively confident and suave when pursuing relationships that' works in tandem's usually packaged with Emma becoming bizarrely demure. Again, I understand the appeal of stock scenarios, but it's not something I enjoy reading for them. I adore when they reach this level of knowing, playful banter with an underlying thrum of challenge, bred of familiarity at which boundaries can be teasingly skirted and which are low blows and off-limits, and founded on them being equals (after both of them, to different degrees, placed each other on pedestals).

I generally have two default outlines for how I see REN getting together: all together at once, or NE getting together first before roping Ray into the relationship. Here it's clearly the latter, though with a bit of a twist in that NE isn't as intimately familiar with Ray stemming from a shared childhood, but there is an awareness of him being out there. There's also the layer of longing that I personally vibe with for him and incorporate into my interpretation of the ship that can be summed up as "Ray is first to know, last to go, and Emma is last to know, first to go." (Because when there’s something she wants and believes it’s correct to do so, she just goes for it. There might be some delay in trying to find the correct timing, but the progress on it dramatically picks up when she realizes, "wait, why aren’t we together? We should fix that." lfjldj adore that respectful tenacity and ambition.)

With Ray, there's a denial born from years of steeling away his heart so he would have the mental fortitude to see off multiple children on their shipment days and a bone-deep belief that after everything he's done, he doesn't deserve such love. He is committed to the vow he makes to Emma in chapter 38 about living on to protect their family, and multiple times he's at the center of discussions what's the best path forward to secure the safety of his friends and family. He can be in the spotlight for that, but when it comes to advocating for his own wants, he falters; accepts that internal strife born of self-loathing as penance for everything he's done to reach this point, prostrates himself to the idea that Emma and Norman are beyond him when it comes to matters of the heart, and attempts to twist and contort to himself he's content to live the remainder of his days with this secret if it means they'll be happy together. (I'll also do a quick shoutout to @salsae's vowsverse for the ultimate breaking down of this wall; simply spectacular culmination of all the build-up over the years.) But all this is underlined by a desperate clinging to the hope that a future with them is possible, a hope that he would never dare put to words but still subconsciously lingers as he tries to extinguish it.

Tying that long tangent back around to this AU, again, Ray doesn't know the two as intimately as he does in canon, but there's a spark of hope at the thought of a different future for himself that he wrestles with, griping over the ludicrousness at the pair's goal and fighting them tooth and nail with each step of their approach, yet he's still the one to initiate their game and can't help but want to meet them to see if there's a foundation where his hope can bloom.

Finally, I am going to McFuckin' Lose It™ if the reveal that Ray is the son of the kingdom's enemy happens in the middle of Norman holding court (either with Emma and Norman knowing beforehand or it being a surprise for them, too; both have delicious potential.)

For the WIP ask meme: what's Melonverse?

So this is actually a kind of absurd OC x OC fic 😂 Basically @qettleqorn has this amazingly fun Nara OC, Michi, who is very handsome, charming, funny, intelligent, slutty, and all sorts of flawed (complimetary) and y'know, I just love him. (He's actually half Nara, half Yamanaka, which makes him cousins with Inoichi and I love that too because someone should give Inoichi a hard time)

Bada bing bada boom, now I've got this 25k word wip about my girly Izumi, single mother of twins making a living off a melon stand in Konoha market, and Michi, who is absolutely not the the father. He definitely did not have a one night stand a couple years ago which lead to these kids. He was definitely not shocked when he ran into her at the village market and saw two little rugrats strapped to her (one of which looks like his tiny replica, and the other has his very distinct ears). And no, he isn't slowly growing more and more fond of them over time. He's totally cool and chill about all of this. He doesn't mention any potential relation to the girls, and neither does she.

Long story short, it's like anything I tend to write. Slow burn. Kinda goofy. Dramatic. I actually write Michi more than I do my own OC 😂he's a lot of fun. And Q is a champ about letting me just take him and run, and reading whatever the brain spits out.

I'll leave a snippet of him, Anko, and Inoichi. For context, Izumi has been undergoing investigation by T&I due to her unfortunate ties to Orochimaru. Inoichi's been searching her mind to try to either find out if she's clear, or an informant, and ends up discovering her unspoken past relationship with Michi, and the fact that he has two secret little nieces. Basically Inoichi wants to Parent Trap Michi and Izumi alkjflsadkj

The office door cracks open and Anko’s smiling face pops out. “Nara Michi here at the asscrack of dawn? Never thought I’d see the day.”

He stretches out, bringing his hands to lace behind his head and gives her a lazy smile in a display of expertly crafted nonchalance. “I’ve always been full of surprises, Anko, you just never let me show you.”

“Hm, it’s like I have common sense or something."

“Or something,” he agrees in good humor. “He almost ready in there or what?”

“Yeah, yeah. You know how he is, Mr. By-The-Book. He’s just finishing up, but he says you can come in if you want.”

Yes, he wants. 

Michi gets up and follows her into a fairly large, shared office space. Anko sits in the back corner. Inoichi is at the desk front and center.

“Good morning,” Inoichi greets absently, focused on the explosion of paperwork before him. “Sorry, I’m almost done. You can have a seat.”

“No worries,” Michi lies, and to his credit, it sounds very believable. This isn’t his first, second or third rodeo, and he recognizes immediately what Inoichi is doing. He’s putting a file together. A work order. Meaning Michi is there to receive a job assignment.

This is a problem. 

Michi doesn’t want a job assignment. He wants an update. One that he can’t openly ask about with Anko in the room. 

“Got a job for me?” Michi asks, wanting to confirm his suspicions on the off chance his gut is wrong. It’s usually not though. 

“I do,” Inoichi murmurs, clacking a small stack of papers on the desk until they align into a nice, neat packet. Punching a staple through it first, he holds it out to Michi with a finite sigh. “The details are all there. Your charge will be a civilian woman.” Inoichi delivers the order just as he would any. “And by proxy, her two children.”

Well then. Isn’t this a fun little game they get to play in front of Anko now.

Michi takes the packet casually, skimming it over as he sits on the edge of Inoichi’s desk. “This is a protection order,” he realizes aloud.

“Yes. For two weeks—tentatively.”

Michi looks at Inoichi and the two exchange a subtly knowing look, lingering in it for just a moment.

Inoichi clears his throat, breaking the silence before it can stretch on too long. “I know it’s not your usual job detail, but based on the qualifications requested, you were selected.”

“Makes me curious about those qualifications,” Michi mumbles, still reading.

“The request is in there.” Inoichi gestures to the packet. “By all means, look it over. It should be a fairly easy job. It’s more precautionary than anything. Think of it as being a bodyguard for a couple weeks.”

With a humorous snort, Anko interjects from the corner, “He means babysitter. You don’t even have to leave the village.”

“Oh, well that’s perfect,” Michi says. “Think of all the experience I have from watching Ino.”

Inoichi looks mildly amused. “Yes, well, Ino didn’t have a bounty out for her live capture.”

“That you know of.”

Anko snickers quietly, half paying attention as she fills out some forms. Inoichi just sighs. “Regardless, feel free to step it up a notch on this one, Michi.”

“I’m steppin’, I’m steppin’,” Michi defends, sounding pretty unconcerned about the whole thing. Like a cool guy. A very cool guy. Definitely not a guy playing this out like speed shogi in his head, trying to frantically decide if this is a very good or very bad turn of events. Does he love Inoichi right now or does he hate him? He needs more information.  “Alright so what’s the deal with this woman? Civilian with a bounty? I’m interested.”

“You should be, she’s cute,” Anko pipes up cheekily from her corner, still scribbling away.

“Oh yeah?” Michi questions, as if he isn’t fully aware of how cute she is. “As cute as you?”

Inoichi scoffs under his breath at them, but they’re used to his disgruntled noises and ignore them happily.

“Mm,” she hums in thought before deciding, “different kind of cute.”

“Alright, alright,” he muses. “I think I can work with that.”

“She’s also really sweet though, so be nice.”

“What are you talking about? I’m always nice.”

“Hm, weird,” Anko feigns confusion with a cock of her head, “You’re pronouncing ‘incorrigible bastard’ wrong.”

Michi clicks his tongue with a sigh. “Ah, sorry, I’m actually not accepting insults before 7am.”

“Aw, is little Michi tired?” Anko coos.

“Maybe.” He shrugs. “If I said yes, would you get me a coffee?”

She looks at him, amused, and lets out a long sigh before standing up with a stretch. “Y’know, you’re lucky you’re pretty.”

“What a coincidence, so are you—lucky, that is. That I’m pretty. You’re the one that gets to look at me so much, after all.” Another sigh from Inoichi. At this point it's practically a game for Michi and Anko.

Anko just scoffs with a shake of her head. “Like I said, incorrigible bastard.”

“That’s a ‘yes’, right?”

“That’s an ‘I was going to get some for myself anyway, and since you’re looking so adorably pathetic, sure, I’ll take pity on you’.”

“Nice.”

She laughs on her way out. He’s fairly certain it’s at him and not with him. Either way, he’s won here because not only has he gotten rid of her, he’s getting a coffee out of it.

Inoichi gives him the most deadpan look in the history of deadpan looks. “You two should be separated.”

As an expert in sidestepping his dear cousin’s disapproval, Michi moves right along, waggling the work order in the air. “What kind of strings are you pulling to get me on this?”

🐇 - do you prefer writing original characters, reader inserts, or a mix of both?

Original characters by a long shot. Reader inserts have to be kind of vague, but creating an original character means I get to dig into their psyche and learn how they think and also answer the menial questions about them that my brain spits out. For example: "hm, I have itty bitty little hands. Diana's hands are definitely larger than mine. Is it because her fingers are longer or because her palm is wider?"

The answer to that is that her fingers are longer, by the way.

📚 - what's the last thing you wrote down in your notes app?

Aside from typing this out in my notes app (yes, I type long Tumblr posts like this out in my notes app first), I have a very long note for keeping track of my in-game decisions during Diana's BG3 playthrough. This isn't the complete note, but it's the addition I made last night:

Z'rell goes for Diana's mind -- Diana's first thought is for her party, for Leilani, for -- Astarion. She needs to keep them all safe, but Astarion especially.

Z'rell: "My, my. Your lust for the neck-pricker is succulent - I'd like to take a bite out of him myself."

Diana's hackles rise. Her tadpole is unfortunately still active -- and a wave of amusement comes from Astarion's direction.

"She gave me everything I wanted."

"And what do you want exactly?"

"To take, to feel, and to kill. In a word - freedom."

Diana needs to know what they're up against. "That's a little abstract -- show me something real."

Z'rell kills the ogre behind her. Diana's eyes go wide, but Z'rell is too caught up in her bloodlust to notice.

🧩 - what will make you click away from a fanfiction immediately?

Bad characterization, but that's probably a given for a lot of people, so I'll share two pet peeves I have when it comes to BG3 fanfiction -- well, Astarion fanfiction specifically, if I'm being so real. (To literally no one's surprise.)

First, a rather silly one. I can't stand an Astarion that says "Okay." If he's saying "Okay" all over the place that is the fastest and most surefire way to get me to click out of a fic. I can survive the occasional "okay" -- if I'm already ten chapters into a longfic and he tosses one out, I'm going to shudder, but I'll continue reading the fic if I'm already enjoying it and the characterization is good otherwise. But in most cases, thanks but no thanks.

And second, I don't enjoy an overly saccharine Astarion -- he has his moments, but so many people just write him as being so sweet all the time when he's not a sweet man. I was very worried about this being an issue in i'll peel my heart like a pomegranate because I don't have any other Diana/Astarion fic for people to read yet, so there's no character or relationship development for people to read and see "oh, okay, this is how he got here, that makes sense." I almost decided to just hold onto it and make it part of my longfic for that reason.

(But then the fandom was just so encouraging when I started posting snippets and I just got so excited that I went, "screw it, people don't have to read it if they don't want.")

got so inspired by the shinji news today that I wrote an outline for the first 5 chapters of my fanfic. I'm finally doing guys. I'm writing it all out.

this isn't to say that I haven't written it, since I have SO MUCH PLEASE HOW AM I GOING TO RESHAPE THIS WORK INTO THE FANFIC I ENVISION. I have like 300 pages of content, but it's all over the place and written in 3rd and 1st perspective.

The fanfic I'm writing/drafting is in 2nd, and gender neutral (old one uses she/her, I wrote it before I came out) and this new one has better pacing. I'm really excited to write it all out! I hope that the shinji fans enjoy it, or just bleach fans in general since it's all about the main plot. it's HEAVY reader insert, since I can't help but put myself in everything (don't look at my fomo)

but I also wanted to expand on certain topics in the bleach universe (the soul society in general, life and death, hell, zanpakuto, soul society norms and customs, and more fun stuff!)

also-- idk about y'all but I love ballroom settings and have two flustered and oblivious people dance together, acting as though they aren't totally in love with each other. EYE CONTACT EYE CONTACT. so yeah, can't wait to write the ballroom scene, since I haven't yet, not even in my old drafts.

but if you want to get a glimpse, here's a little bit about the reader and the plot:

the reader is a badass bitch

okay seriously: former squad 8's officer joins squad 5 as their 5th seat! for decades they bond with their loveable captain until unfortunate events lead them and their friends hollowfied :(

they go into the world of the living and have to learn how to deal with new baggage (fun hollow inside yippee). but 20 years before the main plot aizen is like "hahaha peace and love? I don't think so"

I won't say too much, but reader does not have a fun time and shinji sits on a chair all depressed like a character who shares his name.

let's just say, reader gets a fun vacation in hueco Mundo! lots of sights to see! such as the menos forest! or a big kingdom with really nice hollows inside!/s

anyways, lots of stuff I wanted to explore and write about. also, totally made it so that reader asks Ichigo "why are people calling metal bricks apples? how much has changed since I've been kidnapped gone?" totally dad who can't use or understand technology vibes.

so my fic is all of this plus shinji! you might ask, how the hell did u create this absurdly large plot??? and I'm like

A Fanfic Update

Hey guys, I thought I should give you an update about what's going on Ongoing-WIPs-wise just in case you've had some worries.

The short of it is that the writing juices haven't flowed well for a while now and I'm trying to get them back but it is a struggle. I've worked a bit on this fic or other but haven't made significant progress in a few months. I absolutely hope that will change soon but I unfortunately can't force it. It doesn't help that I'm going through some stuff IRL right now that I have to take care of (I am unfortunately an adult who has to do adulting and pay bills and shit 🥲). I try not to be too stressed out about it, but the more time passes the more the anxiety sets in. Wish me luck. 💪🏻

Anyway, here's a fic-by-fic overview, split up by fandom.

THE UNTAMED

The Angsty SongXue Fic — I'll be honest, I've written a little bit since I last updated you guys but I still haven't finished the buffer chapter (at this point I'm thinking about posting chapter 51 even though 52 isn't done yet), so nothing really new here. I really want to get back into a writing flow but so far it hasn't really worked. I am still working on it, though, so don't worry, I'm not going to drop it.

The It Follows AU — I'm ashamed to say I didn't even realize I posted that fic almost two years ago and I still haven't written the second half. I'm so sorry it's taking so long! I definitely still want to finish it! I might rewatch the It Follows movie before I do that, though.

The Observer Series — Oh yeah, remember that smutfic series I started a few years ago of which I've only posted part 1 so far? Yeah, I still need to work on that. I did write chapter 1 of part 2 a while ago, so it's not like it's forgotten, I just need to get my ass up and write the rest of part 2 before I can post it. 🙈

The Color Rush AU — Okay, technically I haven't posted that one yet but I did share a snippet along with a gifset a few years ago, so you guys know it exists. I haven't worked on it in a long time, though, and I don't know yet when I will find the spoons to continue writing it but I'm still intrigued by the premise and want to give it a go. Thank you for your patience!

The Somewhat Sweet, Somewhat Angsty XuanXian Fic — Again, haven't posted that one yet but I've been posting about it, so you guys know it exists. Nothing new on this front. I did want to rewrite the whole thing because I wasn't really happy with the way I wrote it thus far, so I'll probably go back to it at some point and do that, I just don't know when yet.

WORD OF HONOR

The Xie'er Deserves the World Fic — Listen, guys, I love this fic so much, I just haven't worked on it in a while. I'll probably re-read what I've written so far and go on from there, I've just been struggling with the latest chapter ever since I started writing it years ago. It's not dropped, though, I will get back to it! Pinky swear!

SAILOR MOON

I've mentioned here and there that I'm working on part 1 of an epic that is based on a doujinshi I started when I was 13 or 14. Unlike my other WIPs, this one really is 100% self-indulgent to the point where I don't even care whether people will read/like it once I post it when it's completely done. I'll just put it out there to make my teenage self happy because this story has been simmering in my head for over 20 years, and so that my IRL friends can read it if they want to. So, this one will be a long way out, but it exists. I'm only really mentioning it because I've mentioned it a couple of times before and because it's the fic that's been on my mind the most lately.

STAR WARS

You didn't think I forgot about TROBS, did you????? I did work on several beginnings of a draft during NaNoWriMo last year and I'm getting more and more of a clear picture of how I want it to go. For those unfamiliar, TROBS (or The Rise of Ben Skywalker, though I already changed the name of the fic again) is my attempt at an Episode IX fix-it fic that essentially replaces TROS. This one has been simmering in my head since early 2020 and I really want to get it out of there and onto the page for catharsis. I've even held off on reading any other TROS fix-its because of it, even though I've heard there are some really amazing ones out there (and I can't wait to read them once I've gotten my own out of my damn head). I really need to finally finish that beast. Wish me luck. 🥲

hold 'em - this is the gavin bondage fic i mentioned the other day! there's a chair, there's some rope, you know the drill. i have a note at the beginning that just says "glasses???", but there's nothing in the actual text that matches with that, so i guess he's wearing glasses of some sort...? idk i'll figure it out

slip of the tongue - ngl this is basically my gavin appreciation document, it's kind of just non-stop kissing for a few thousand words. there's a thin pretense of plot but that's really all it is

captive audience - vega and warden domestic bliss: the fic. this is basically a short side story for easy pickings (above), because i wanted to write this particular scene but it doesn't quite fit. they have breakfast, it's cute, until you remember what they like to eat for breakfast and then it's decidedly less cute and more horrifying.

extracurriculum - i think zo put me up to this? lovely and vincent having some alone time in one of the empty stairwells at DAMN. it's exactly what it sounds like.

thicker than water - ooh i have not looked at this for a WHILE! this is much more violent than i normally go in for, but it's basically vincent and alexis beating each other into the floor for a few thousand words. i guess i was having an off day?

So weird I'm posting so much but I've been in an art streak and man songs are great to get ideas

My Ordinary Life by the Living Tombstone is a goddamn great song, and so I present a snippet comic with Hyperion angel and a basic snapshot

I originally was gonna do more but it was eh with the next lyrics, I could've done silver platter better but it's all my brain would come with at that moment- it's not the GREATEST I could've done, but starting new with comics and don't wanna burnout on a fun side thing by trying to do the best every panel

I'm debating a part two with the ending ish of the song, but it's quite a lot, however I love my gaslighting girlboss and just might do most at least. I know I want to do the line "Touch me, Midas, Make me part of your design" in a reference with Jack, she's at a very mixed standpoint on her feelings so discussion about him isn't usually wise.

I also want to do "All my muses left behind" as the separation between her and the Crimson Raiders (They never had a good relationship period unlike Canon)

Anyways side goofy also semi elaborating, roughly she keeps her behavior and acts like when she was guarding the vhs, especially for press to keep positive image. However, she Hates the Raiders, they remind her of when she was sick and weak. She does blame Lilith for Jack's behavior getting worse, so there's that rift. Gaige thinks it's funny seeing her slip and get upset, gotta fuck with corporates somehow anyways. (Also angel heavily improves the robotics and more for Hyperion, so unfortunately it's made Gaige want to fuck up Hyperion shit more to get some goodies and upgrades for free)

I'll avoid making this any longer and maybe put her lore in another post but hope you guys like these! I might do one for each of my aus actually and promote the fics if I have them posted currently- I will avoid spoilers though for those, but for now I don't have a set fic or story for Hyperion Angel to even write, there's ideas, but they're on the backburner for now.

honestly, i can't say that there has been! i mean don't get me wrong, i have certainly been writing EVEN MORE ANGST AGAIN and been like. hmm. the people in my phone are gonna hate me for this :) lol. but that angst is also for ME bc like. that's my jam lol. and i never post unfinished multichaptered fics, so i feel its not likely that i'd ever do this, since i don't get feedback on my writing until after it's already completed, lol.

i don't! i never have, actually. it is an intriguing idea but i've never been a ~serious~ enough writer for it, i don't think, and i also cringe at the idea of anyone seeing anything i've ever written before i have re read and re-edited it about 50 thousand times lol

recently, no, but i have at least 10 unfinished fics for various old fandoms that are like. not *scrapped*, per se, but just uhhh unlikely to be completed any time soon lol, some being 10+ years old. i never say never but like AM i going finish that OC-au of the mentalist season 6 where somebody is trying to attack all the "psychics" in texas because they have a grudge against what some fake psychic told them like 10 years ago???? honestly, probably not, lol.

yes, i do! can't write in just silence, usually, but it can't have words, either, because i can't hear Words and also Write Different Words, lol. recently i have been listening to 70s-80s Japanese city pop playlists (here is one of my favorites!) since i don't speak the language and it also is such a vibe. in the past i've also done the in love with a ghost vibes, lofi girl, and instrumental synth-wave, as well. i also really like the artist City Girl for that reason, and i think my favorite album of theirs is Neon Impasse. I listened to that on loop a lot writing ttnp!

⏳how long does it take you to write a fic, or a chapter?

this is a very difficult to answer question because it depends on a lot of factors, lol. I have written 20k words in two days before. I have also gone weeks only writing a thousand. it depends on how much free time i have (recently, almost none, lol), how much down time there is at my job (i wrote a large portion of ttnp in down time at my job, and there is not going to be job down time for the foreseeable future unfortunately, which has really put a damper on things). as long as i am at least mildly inspired or motivated, and have ample enough time, i can get a lot done, usually, but it all depends on a lot of factors.

💥how do you feel about criticism?

i am made of tissue paper pls dont hurt me akdshdjfhf i am actually very much okay with and welcoming of it, actually, bc without it, i would never improve. definitely needs to be in good faith, because being made of tissue paper isn't entirely a lie lol, but if there's something i have done poorly or something that i have the opportunity to do better next time, i am always happy to take it into consideration!

Well as with any writer, I love feedback! Though after being in some tiny fandoms (or at least tiny from a fanfic perspective) I've gotten more used to not getting much feedback. All feedback is very very very appreciated of course, but feedback/support from 1 or 2 friends tends to make me very happy regardless of what other kudos/comments I get.

😭I'm definitely more of an "I want everyone to be safe and happy" kinda girl. When I make the characters suffer it's usually very mild suffering. Though, fun(?) fact about me, when I daydream about my fandoms, the daydreams often get pretty angsty and rough. But those ideas usually remain as daydreams because it would be too hard to actually write them.

And I tend to spend less time reading the longer I've been in a fandom. But every once in a while I get hit with an urge to spend all night reading fics.

Oh boy let's see...I think I'm pretty good at giving readers warm fuzzy feelings? And I love when I'm able to do that.
