Nope. My mum just liked the name but we do joke that she subconsciously named me and my sister after a Dracula hammer house horror where the two women are named Alice and Lucy because she was a goth lol

Do you have kids?

Nope.

Do you use sarcasm?

Yes. I think it's honestly like a regional dialect thing because everyone takes the piss out of each other where I'm from and sarcasm is one of the way of doing so

What is the first thing you notice about someone?

Normally their voice but I'm shit at recognising accents so not the best thing haha but also hair. Not necessarily as a judgement but I just notice that first and I always remember someone by their hair

What is your eye colour?

Blue.

Scary movies or happy endings?

Scary movies but I prefer bittersweet endings that make me sob and stick with me for a week over happy endings

Any special talents?

I can hear plugs and shit. Like the high pitched squeal some electronics give out that others can't and it drives me insane but is handy knowing when something needs unplugged

Dream job?

To not have a job. I adore getting up and doing nothing but my hobbies. I work for my days off. There isn't a specific thing I'd love to do but I do love doing artist liaison at events because its stressful but fun and I've met some amazing people through it so yeah I do that on occasion but I couldn't handle it as a full-time thing

Okay so, it took me awhile BUTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT I managed to figure out a blurb for the enemies to lovers/fake "dating" thing for Aegon 🤭 enjoy - 🔥

The carriage ride to your family's annual hunt is silent. Both your mother and step-father had forced you to come, only just mentioning you finding a suitor there once you got far enough you couldn't tuck and roll out and back to the castle.

You notice the uncomfortable look on your mother's face. She was currently seven months pregnant. "Are you sure you can ride in your condition?" You ask.

Rhaenyra nods. "I will be fine, darling. The maesters said I will be be fine."

You nod before Daemond chimes in with a smile. "Hopefully you'll be with your own child sooner then late. Make me a proud grandsire."

You roll your eyes before continuing to look out the window. You never hated Daemon, its the fact of knowing your sole purpose was to pop out heirs for whatever lord you were sold off to that you hated. But you knew it was coming. You went out all night, drowning in your cups, hanging around company you shouldn't have, and showing to meetings either drunk or tired or if you were really unlucky, both. The last one having you fall asleep a couple of times. So, you knew Daemon had to get some control with you.

If you were being honest, you were absolutely terrified of dying in childbirth. You also hear its incredibly painful. You would rather do literally anything else than go through that.

Jace leans over. "Don't worry, sister, I'll make sure your betrothed isn't troublesome"

You laugh. Jace. Always the protective brother. You then ruffle his hair, which earns a laugh from Luke.

Once getting to the hunt, you immediately take notice of you Alicent and her sons. The family that joined your family many times over in the annual hunt. You liked them well enough, but a certain one pisses you off the most. Aegon. Alicent's first born. You were just a year younger and you don't remember much about him, besides him loving to lose it in his cups and go into the streets of silk. And the fact you bested him at practice sword fighting. He threw a hissy fit as you, Aemond, Luke, and Jace, laughed as he sulked off.

"You must be cheating!" Aegon yells at you. You had just swiped his sword from his hand and hand him on the ground.

"I'm just simply better then you, dear uncle," you smirked. You offer him your hand but he slaps it away before getting up and walking off like a child. You just roll your eyes before continuing to practice.

Aegon was still practicing his sword skills and you had to admit, he has gotten good. His hair was also no longer in his face but cut short. It suited him. And he grew. Then you almost towered over him but now he towers over you. He seems to notice that you were staring.

He smirks as he sees you before coming up to you and saying, "long time no see princess."

You give him a nod. "Nice to see you too, uncle."

As you all sit down for lunch, Daemon decides to make a toast. "To my darling daughter who will soon be married."

You half-way put up your cup up and you see Aegon doing the same, sending you a smirk. You can feel his eyes burn into you as Daemon says his speech.

Just as the things were looking up and everybody was getting along, Aemond decides to say a toast as well. You immediately sink back into your seat, knowing exactly where this was going.

"To my darling niece." Aemond starts, smirking at you. "Wise. Beautiful."

Don't say it. Don't say it.

"And Strong."

For fuck sake.

You open your mouth to speak up but Jace beats you to the punch. "I dare you to say that again."

Aemond turns to him. "What? You don't think your sister is strong? Hm?"

"Watch your mouth!" You shout, ready to charge at him.

Chaos erupts as Jace takes a swing at Aemond which in turns makes Luke try to take a swing at Aegon, which in turn has his face being slammed into the table, which ends with you pushing Aegon away and decking him in the nose. You're about to go after Aemond after he shoves Jace but you're held back by Sir Criston.

Your mother immediately pushes your brothers behind her as Daemon shoves Criston away from you.

Things calmed down and the hunt resumed. You were still pissed off so you took off by yourself. Unbeknownst to you, Aegon had seen but fought the urge to follow you. You wouldn't admit it but come to find out, you both had much more in common then you originally thought.

As you sat by the fire, soaking up the cooling night air, you wished it could be like this every night. But of course the calm and peaceful night comes to an abrupt end as a boar attacks you. You don't back down, of course, stabbing it until the squeals are no more. Now, you were drenched in blood. But hey, boar for the next night's dinner.

Walking back to camp with the boar tied down, covered in blood, you were met with nasty gazes by almost everyone and confused ones by Daemon and Rhaenyra. You do manage to get a peak at Aegon to see that he is smirking at you and he sends you a nod of approval.

That night you decide to get back at Aemond so, you end up giving a toast.

"To Aemond, the one-eyed prince and my wonderful uncle. I do hope that the pink dread wasn't difficult to tame."

You hear Daemon snicker at your remark toward Aemond and you can't help but smirk as you can see it gets to him and he huffs as he nods toward you. A mutual agreement of a treaty.

Aegon couldn't help himself, honestly. He couldn't sleep so, he decided to go for a walk, only to over hear Daemon talking to Jason Lanister. About you being betrothed to him. The man was old enough to be your father! Something in him told him he had to stop this. He couldn't have this. Oh no.

Making his way through the secret hallways of the castle, he stumbles upon your room. You were sleeping soundly. He couldn't help bur admire you as you slept but he stopped himself, he was on a mission. He casually shakes your shoulder, thankfully you're just as much a light sleeper as he is.

"Princess?"

You groan, rubbing your eyes. "What? Has something happened?"

He shakes his head. "No but come on! We don't have all night!" He throws back your covers and throws come pants and a shirt at you, along with a hat to at least attempt to hide your features. You don't question him as you knew what he meant. A night on the streets.

Almost like a puppy dog, you followed him, making sure you held onto his hand. Just incase.

You roll your eyes as he leads you to a brothel and the tension in it almost makes you pull him in for a headed kiss. Almost.

And after some fun, he decides to tell you about the plan. He knew you didn't know, otherwise you would be attempting to run.

"So, princess," he starts. "I may have over heard Daemon saying you are set to wed Jason Lannister if you couldn't find anyone."

Your eyes go wide and almost like a cliche, you drop your drink.

"But I have a plan."

You shake yourself out of the state of shock. You never knew Aegon to have plans. But you would do anything to avoid marrying Jason Lanister. "I'm all ears," you tell him.

"Marry me."

Again your eyes go wide.

"Not for real. We could make people think we forged a connection. That way my mother will stop breathing down my neck about responsibilities and you can avoid your obviously worse terrible fate." He says the last part jokingly.

You couldn't believe what he was suggesting. You think for a minute. Would it really be that bad? Aegon was just a year older, he was handsome, it left the whole betrothed thing behind, and you knew him. So, you agree.

The next morning, you were set to to meet Daemon as he requested but when you are about to open the door to the room, you hear glass shatter. You peep inside to see what was going on.

"You must not have a brain! I mean a brothel?!" Daemon yells. He sounds furious but you can't tell who he is talking to. "I mean, what lord is going to want her now?! In her condition?!"

You then hear a sarcastic tone of voice say, "better her first experience be with me then some whore."

You instantly recognized the voice. Aegon. More glass shatters and you are no certain you don't want to go into there.

"Wed her to me," Aegon says, the sincerity in his voices almost convinces you but you hadn't forget the plan. "I will take her as she is."

Your mouth drops open. You couldn't believe what you were hearing. You knew about Daemon and Rhaenyra's little escape from the castle when she was your age. And you knew what was said. And now you were basically hearing history repeat.

"Fine," Daemon says. "But you hurt her or I get word of you with another, I will have your head. And I will put it on a pike. Understood?"

Aegon lets out a firm, "yes."

"Good. Now, go."

You then hurriedly run as to not be seen.

The plan was in motion and you were ready. So ready in fact, you charged at Aegon and he catches you, pulling you into a hug. But he loses balance as a result of a leg wound he has suffered just a week prior and you both drop to the ground.

Aegon lets out a laugh before leaning forward and whispering in your ear, "remember, sweetheart, we're madly in love, so it's all right to kiss me anytime you feel like."

You feel a blush creep up to your face as you push yourself up and help him up to his feet. You mumble a small, "sorry."

Rhaenyra comes up to you, holding her swollen stomach. She gives you a smile. "Daughter, is there something I should know?"

You nod. You quite literally threw yourself at Aegon in front of the entire family. "Aegon had asked for my hand. And I said yes!"

Your mother's eyes light up with glee as she brings you in and gives you kiss after kiss on your head.

At the celebratory dinner, Daemon can't help but glare daggers into Aegon. He may not be your biological father but he still thought of you as his own flesh and blood daughter.

As the night continued, you retire to your chambers and of course Aegon comes to visit.

"You think they bought it?"

"Yes. My mother was over the moon. Good job."

Aegon chuckles. "I should be saying that. You were the one that knock me down today."

"Heh, sorry about that."

"Quite alright, princess."

You decide to bring up his conversation with Daemon earlier. "Why didn't you tell him nothing happened?"

He shrugs. "I truly don't know. Perhaps because if he knew the deed was already done, he would have no choice but to wed us."

"You're clever when you want to be."

Aegon chuckles agian.

And awkward tension fills the air as you don't know if you want Aegon to leave or not. You look up at him to see him tilting his head, looking you up and down. "Say, princess, you haven't done it yet?"

"Done...what?" Then it clicks to what he means. "Oh, no. I haven't."

A smirk reaches Aegon's face as he comes toward you. "Would you...like to?"

You think for a moment. You truly didn't think you would be ruined if you slept with Aegon before marriage. You didn't think the same of your beloved mother so why feel that about yourself?

You nod and Aegon gently pushes you back onto your bed and he tells you he'll be gentle.

The next morning, you and Aegon are entangled in the sheets, his arm around you. He wakes you up by peppering your shoulder with kisses. Your legs are sore but you feel more alive then ever. Even your mother sees it as she comments on how you are glowing as you sat down for breakfast. You try to hide your blush as you come up with a very different response.

As the wedding is set, you begin to feel this engagement is getting more real by the day. You and Aegon find yourselves starved for one another and he can always get a laugh out of you , even when you are upset, and he always seeks comfort with you. You begin to realize that the feelings you've been faking were real and so you confess as much to Aegon. His whole face lit up and he told you he was going to confess the same thing.

You were now finally content and actually happy. You were also happy you had finally met your match.

I am sorry but my first thought was pertaining Helaena. Like, are her and Aegon married? Does she have kids already? Because imagine Helaena's thoughts and feelings watching all her brothers fight over impregnating their Mother.

Alicent is a sweet girl who knows how to behave in front of nobles, who understands what she can do with the little power she possesses and how she has to rely on kindness to get what she wants (Sansa-coded <3) and then there's her only daughter, who sometimes cannot control what blurts out of her mouth, who's strange and off-putting and who Alicent has trouble connecting to.

The Daughter who gets married to her older Brother as is tradition, but all her older brother can think and talk about is their Mother. They make love and it's clear Aegon is treating it as a chore to make their Mother proud. Helaena gets pregnant and Aegon only starts smiling once Alicent hugs him and tells him he did good.

There's her two younger brothers, Aemond and Daeron, but while Daeron spends the precious few days he has with his family trying to impress their Mother, trying to get as much attention from her as possible, Aemond - who's arguably Alicent's favourite and the one she connects to the most - never has to try at all. Alicent's thoughts are always with him, when he isn't there he's the first thing she asks about (and not in the weary way she asks after Aegon, afraid of the answer; she sounds almost distressed to not have him at her side, within her eyesight).

And where does that leave Helaena? Always alone, always an afterthought within her own family. She's loved, she knows, by her Children and by her Mother and by her Brothers, but it feels almost like a sort of duty to love.

She's loved because she's a Sister, she's loved for being a Daughter, but never for love's sake.

Now suddenly, her Brothers are arguing over their Mother and getting her with Child and none of them ever argued about her like that. She was never wanted like that, not even by the Brother she had to marry and she's too much of a dutiful wife to let her affections ever stray but it still leaves her bitter.

She is their Mother as much as their Brothers are, why do they forget?

Probably not the kinda answer you wanted but I couldn't help myself.

There are several ways I could see this go down:

Helaena dyes her hair darker to look more like their Mother and her Brothers suddenly have very confusing feelings regarding their Sister (which could totally blow up in her face the moment Aegon has sex with her and calls her Mother)

Helaena's been angsting in her head but the only reason the boys never fought about her like that is because Aegon called dips ages ago and Aemond is actually waiting for Aegon to give his okay to make love to Helaena (because he's a dweeb and can only 'make love')

She teams up with Daeron because Daeron also feels like an afterthought next to the perfect son and (arguably but not to me) Alicent's favourite son and Daeron knocks up Helaena while Aegon and Aemond are busy arguing over Alicent

Helaena does not knock her Mother up (obviously) but she's the one who beds their Mother first (and it's kinda harsh because Helaena has to work through some things)

Somebody else (and I am voting Larys or Otto for the creep factor and Ser Criston for the 'I am still only coming in second after my Mother' factor) takes advantage of Helaena's vulnerable state and impregnates her and the Green boys are so very mad about it but also cannot do much because that's on them.

I just had to add this gem 😆

My baby girl Elyana Dondarrion, who can do no wrong 🥺

- her mother is/was a Dayne, it's where she got her Dornish looks from

- she and her older brother Tristan grew up with Criston Cole, who was the stewart's son

- the friendship between Tristan and Criston grew sour however when it became obvious that the lowborn boy and Elyana were falling in love with each other

- Tristan snitches on them, which ultimately ends in her father imploring Lord Boremund Baratheon to secure a place at court for his daughter as a lady-in-waiting for the young princess Rhaenyra Targaryen

- Elyana spends the next few years in KL, building a deep friendship with both Alicent and Rhaenyra, while Criston tries to make a name for himself, to "prove worthy of her one day".

- the two keep writing each other over the years and Alicent and Rhaenyra dub him her "secret suitor" and the reason no one seems to be a good enough match for her (much to her brother's anger)

- Elyana and Criston meet again at the tourney, but what was supposed to be the true beginning of their story is cut short when the queen and prince die and Rhaenyra is named heir to the throne...

I will put the rest under a cut in case some ppl don't want the whole thing spoiled ^^'

- suddenly the power dynamic at court seems to always be shifting and with Criston so close, Tristan watches her like a hawk, lest she costs the family the chances of marrying her off to the highest bidder in the years to come.

- meanwhile Criston is named Kingsguard - an honour virtually impossible to refuse and a future where they are together seems impossible like never before

- soon Alicent's new role at court will drive a wedge between her and Rhaenyra and leave Elyana caught between who she thinks are her two best friends

- just as Elyana and Alicent's friendship grows deeper as they spend time alone together at court, so does the relationship between Criston and Rhaenyra as he spends time with the princess as her sworn shield

- things come to a head when rumours arise at court that Rhaenyra spent the night with her uncle at a brothel, letting him have her and a guilt ridden Criston confesses to her that it was really him who spent the night with her

- Criston - insecure and always feeling like he isn't worthy of the woman he has loved for most of his life - is confused about the nature of his feelings for Rhaenyra and breaks Elyana's heart with the confession that he has fallen for the princess

- Elyana, feeling betrayed by both her lover and her friend, decides that she has spent too much time neglecting her duty towards her family and agrees to marry Borros Baratheon and become the next Lady of Storm's End

- she more or less flees KL as soon as possible and arrives at Storm's End to the news of the tragedy that struck during the wedding/welcoming banquet (Criston, broken both by Rhaenyra's rejection and the realisation that he threw away a life with Elyana for a tryst, lost his temper and beat Joffrey Lonmouth to death 😬)

- shortly after, she starts getting letters from Criston again - he admits to being a fool, he is a broken man who has lost everything and only now realises that what he truly wants never changed, he just lost sight of it blablabla.

- she never answers his letters, but he keeps writing them until in the last one he begs her for just one sign that he may hope, just one letter, one word and he'll come and take her away to that life they always dreamed of - but at this point she is already married to Borros and pregnant with her first child

- she never gives him that sign and the letters stop

- they don't see each other again until the king dies and Alicent sends for her, desperate to have a friend by her side as the Dance of Dragons begins...

so marlene knows, theoretically, that she's going to die relatively young. like she knows that she will likely not live to old age. but she very much just has not like...processed that or come to terms with it emotionally in any way, because where we are rn in the fic she's literally only 20. like. even though she knows, in theory, that dorcas will outlive her, she still thinks she has essentially a whole 'nother life to live, bc she thinks "hey, at least i'll probably make it to forty."

and so the cavalier attitude that marlene sometimes seems to have towards death is very much a front, bc the truth is that she's terrified of dying. and we see her forced to confront that in this scene from ch 44:

she cannot mentally or emotionally process it. she focuses so, so much on trying to do something for the "greater good" and fixates on this idea of being a hero because she is clinging to life, clinging to the idea that if her life just means enough then some part of her will "live on" after her death, the way all great heroes supposedly do. because she can't accept the idea that life just....ends, and hers will end sooner than most.

and because marlene has this mental block when it comes to her own death, we see her acting more recklessly than others, because she's telling herself, "fuck it, i'm gonna die anyway and i'd rather my life mean something before i go," but she hasn't actually let herself process the weight of what death truly means to her. death always has to be something that's going to happen later, in some nebulous future. marlene can't handle it any other way.

"but rae," u might say, "what about this scene in ch 40?"

to which i say ah yes, i can see why that would lead u to believe that marlene ponders the fact that her girlfriend will outlive her. but the thing is...even in this conversation, marlene isn't really thinking about death as like...death. she's asking dorcas these questions about marriage and children and futures the way you might ask a partner that u know ur going to break up with. seeing frank and alice get engaged made marlene ponder the subject of marriage and engagement in the abstract, and made her wonder if that's something dorcas might ever want someday. she doesn't really let herself consider those things as options in her own life, which is why she gets flustered when dorcas turns the question around on her--suddenly, marlene has to confront the thought of her own death again, and she retreats into this shell of acting like it doesn't matter

then, directly after, we see dorcas giving back the same energy, and marlene freaks out:

again, she refuses to actually confront the possibility of death--dorcas pointing out that they could both die anytime deeply, deeply upsets marlene, and she immediately demands reassurance and essentially tells dorcas to take it back.

honestly this whole scene in ch 40 is kind of like. the thesis of marlene and dorcas's relationship in this fic. dorcas views death in a much different light because of her own history with the subject, and her and marlene's different outlooks on life + death is one of the biggest issues in their relationship. it underlies many of their arguments and is this running thread of tension in the ways they both approach and handle the war. fun!
