Alastor with a female reader who is selectively mute Part 1
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I always wanted to know how Alastor would react to a demon character like this or who is similar to Komi-san from Komi Can't communicate, so this is going to be my take on it.
**First Meeting**
Your arrival in hell wasn't a pleasant one. Literally the second you fell, you were approached by demons left and right, either trying to rob you or offering to sleep with you. Yelling at them would have been easy, but you were a very anxious person to the point you were mute with everyone you encountered. Surprisingly, you were able to run away from the unwanted problems you faced in hell, and was able to come across a flyer that was taped to one of the alley walls. "Come stay at the Happy Hotel" it read, and you figured that it might be a good place to stay for a while and try to make a sense of what you could do now that you were in hell. Having followed the map that was on the other side of the flyer, you were able to come across the hotel, but the neon sign was different then what the paper said, but you figured they probably were remodeling it.
The hotel was huge, it was plastered with neon signs, but also had a radio tower on one side, a large fish like contraption, and a pirate ship. "Amazing" you thought to yourself as you made your way closer to the door, and lightly knocked. A cheery voice was heard on the other side and soon the door opened to reveal a pretty, blonde girl. She had devilish features, but a very adorable baby face, and her smile was quite cute as well. "Oh! Hello! My name is Charlie Morningstar. How may I help you?", she said to you with big bright eyes, as she was patiently waiting for your response. Clenching your jaw, feelings of anxiety began to well up in your stomach, but you bared with it and simply held up the hotel poster in front of Charlie. Charlie was a little curious about your strange response, but she put the pieces together that you were wanting to stay at the hotel. "SQUEAL!! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR COMING!", she said as she threw her arms around you in a bear hug, then letting you go as she pulled you into the hotel.
The inside of the hotel was nice, but needed some remodeling, but you liked it overall. Looking around, you noticed the other demons that were in the hotel. A mini demon was zipping around in a cute dress, cleaning the ceiling with a duster, a cat like demon was chugging a bottle of booze at the bar, and a very tall spider was standing next to the record player, picking out a song. Stopping what they were doing, they all turned to look at you, curiously. Nervous, you raised your hand at them, signifying a hello. The cat demon just nodded his head and continue chugging, while the fast demon zipped in front of you, waving back with a smile, before zooming away to finish cleaning. The tall spider gave you a wink, as they walked to the bar and took a seat. "Vaggie! We have another patron!" Charlie said, as she yelled out next to you, while also leading you to one of the lobby couches to have a seat. As Charlie walked away, your eyes began to scan around the hotel, taking in every detail, and also glancing at the portraits hanging on the wall with Charlie and what looked to be her parents.
"Why Hello there! Who might you be?", a static voice said, as you looked up to see a red suit man with a very sharp smile standing in front of you, leaning down to place his face closer to yours. He was dressed to the nines in a red striped coat, along with a monocle and bow-tie. He also appeared to be holding a microphone staff? Was he a singer by chance? Realizing you were getting distracted, you just nodded your head at the man, and pointed to the poster, similar to what you did with Charlie. The man raised an eyebrow, as he continued to lean closer, most likely waiting for your answer, as his smile got wider, almost breaking his face.
**Alastor POV**
Alastor's eyes continued to stare at the quiet demon, who was holding the poster and kept tapping against it frantically. Amused, Alastor leaned closer, while moving his staff to tap against her chin: "Something wrong my dear? Cat got your tongue?" Alastor watched as the demon remained silent, but he could tell by their eyes that they were nervous, oh how entertaining. "Oh Alastor! So nice of you to show up! This is our new patron who just arrived at the hotel", Alastor heard, as he turned to see Charlie smiling at him, while dragging Vaggie by the hand. Leaning back from his position, Alastor continued to gaze at you while turning back to Charlie. "Ah! So this wayward sinner is here to stay at the hotel! Excellent!" Alastor beamed, as he look down at you, while you shifted in your seat.
**Your POV**
You started to feel a little uncomfortable with everyone's eyes on you, making you clench your hands on your lap. You noticed the other demon next to Charlie. She had long grey hair, and only one of her eyes was showing. She did give you a hard gaze when she saw you, but it softened after few minutes. As she came closer to you, she waved her hand as a hello, while also asking what your name was. You stayed silent, as the butterflies in your stomach made you feel like you wanted to vomit, as everyone was watching you, waiting for your answer. "Whats the matter with you, toots? You deaf or something?", The spider demon had taken a seat next to you, while wrapping an arm around your neck with one of his arms, while poking your cheek with his other hand. Freezing up, you felt your eyes start to water, and you started to slightly shake. Charlie noticed your reactions and bent down on her knees to gaze at you, asking if you were alright. Taking a slow deep breath, you nodded then made a notion with your hands asking for something to write on. Charlie quickly got up and ran to the desk to grab a large notepad and pen, before coming back to you. Once you had the notepad, you began to write down what you wanted to say, before turning the notepad around for everyone to see, while giving them a shy smile:
"Hello my name is Y/N. I just arrived in Hell a few minutes ago and I saw your poster and wanted to stay here. I'm sorry for not responding to you guys normally, but I am selectively mute, I'm sorry again. Its very nice to meet all of you!"
Everyone around you slowly read the notepad and all turned back to look at you. Charlie and Vaggie looked very apologetic, the spider just shrugged his shoulders, the mini one just continued to smile at you, but more softly this time, and the cat demon just continued to drink from the bar. The man in red, or Alastor as they called him, continued to smile at you, seeming unfazed by what you wrote, but you noticed his eyes soften a bit, but he made sure to hide it from the others. "Oh! I'm sorry if we made you uncomfortable." Charlie began to bow her head, but you waved your hands, letting her know it was alright. Charlie raised her head, and soon her frown turned back into a bright smile: "Oh yes, let me introduce everyone! This is Vaggie, my girlfriend. The spider next to you is Angel Dust. Niffty is the small cute one. Husk is the one at the bar, and this is Alastor." You listened to all of the names Charlie said, and looked at everyone, while smiling and nodding your head. Angel Dust smirked while looking at you, turning you head to look at him: "You're quite a cutie aren't ya? I bet your voice sounds very sexy." Angel continued to wrap his arms around you, continuing to flirt with you, until Alastor's staff smacked him on the head. "Now my good fellow! It's not proper to talk that way to a lady! Please kindly remove yourself from them!" Alastor said, as he gazed at Angel, smiling still, but it looked more menacing this time. Angel let you go, while rubbing his head: "Satan F*** Al! You didn't have to hit me with that thing!" Vaggie then yelled at them both to be quiet, as she walked over to front desk and grabbed what looked like to be a room key. She walked back and handed it to you, telling you that your room is on the fourth floor and you can go up there and get settled. Nodding your head as a thank you, you began to walk over to one of the elevators and made your way to your room.
Arriving in your room, you scanned around the interior. The room had some dust and cobwebs, but a little cleaning would help with that. The room was decorated in a maroon red, with a large bed with black sheets, two large windows with curtains, a bathroom and a very wide closet. It almost felt like you got the home suite, which made you feel guilty as you really didn't need a extravagant room like this. Still in thought, you were alerted by a rhythmic knock on your door. Walking over, you looked in the peephole to see Al standing there with his big smile. Opening the door, you nodded your head at Alastor, as he smiled down at you. "Hello again my dear! I was wondering if you had time to chat!"
***Alastor POV***
The quiet sinner nodded her head at Al, while opening the door, allowing me to come in. How adorable! He thought, while making his over to the center of the room and turning back to look at them. "Now my dear! I am here wanting to apologize for how I acted in the lobby! I wasn't behaving like a proper gentleman and I understand if I made you uncomfortable, so let me offer you my sincerest apologies! Let's start over from the beginning, shall we?" Alastor bowed his head a bit, as a sign of him apologizing, and extending his hand out in a handshake. You appeared taken aback in Alastor's eyes, ,but you gave him a soft smile and shook his hand. Once you finished shaking hands, you grabbed the notepad and pen again and began to write to Al, as he gazed at you, wondering what you were writing before you turned the notepad around. Alastor leaned closer, and began to read the message:
"It is alright, Alastor. There is no need for you to apologize. And besides, I'm the one that should apologize for not answering your question when you asked me."
Alastor finished reading, and turned his eyes towards you. His sharp smile slowly turned into a soft grin and his glowing eyes had softened. "Don't worry about that my dear! Now I take it since you will have just arrived in Hell, you are lacking some necessities correct?" Alastor had moved away from you, as he continued to talk while walking around your room. Turning back to you, you gave him a small nod. "Then we will head to the city! Me and Charlie can accompany you! What do you think?" he said, as he turned back to you, with his large grin coming back. Nodding your head at Alastor was his indication that you accepted. Smiling wider, Alastor turned back to you, as he made his way to your door. "It feels that I have extended my stay, so I will leave you be darling! Do make yourself comfortable!" he said, as turned his head back to you. Pulling out the pad again, you wrote down another message and showed it to Al.
"Thank you."
"Your welcome my dear! Have a pleasant evening! Also don't forget to head to the kitchen later! My mother's famous jambalaya is on the menu for tonight! So good, it nearly killed her! HAHA!" , Laughing out his response, Al watched as he saw you give him a smile, a real smile this time. "My! What a gorgeous smile!" He thought, as he bid you adieu and made his way back to the lobby. As he made his way back, Alastor stopped and thought about you. Puzzling was a word he used to describe you. He had never encountered a sinner down here who chose to not speak while having the ability to do so. He mostly assumed you were terrified of him, due to his status as "The Radio Demon. Most feared overlord in Hell.", but that wasn't the case. Something about you made him feel odd, hell he even apologized to you, which he would never do given his massive pride/ego, so he wondered why. Seeing you write on the notepad and apologizing for not responding normally, made his heart ache. Why should you apologize for something like that? Realizing he had stopped in the middle of the hallway, he carried on back to the others, still thinking about you and also how would your voice sound when you spoke out loud. Alastor smiled wider, as he thought you were going to be a very special and entertaining sinner here at the hotel.

A new guest?!
(Let me know that you think, I like it a lot. Should I follow the show?)
~~~prologue~~~
Charlie; the princess of hell is pacing around the main lobby, mumbling to herself as she bits down on her nail.
“Oh, why isn’t anyone coming to the hotel!” She whines, digging her fingers through her hair in frustration.
“Well, Amore, it’s been two days since I make the account.” A voice replies to Charlie, making her turn to the lounge area where there sitting on the couch was her newly employed staff; the receptionist.
She’s focused on a card game she’s playing with The Radio Demon, Alastor. “I did tell you it was a waste of time.”
“You don’t know that, maybe someone will show up…eventually.”
“Mhm, whatever makes your heart sore, princess.”
Vaggie cuts into the conversation, placing her hand on her girlfriend’s shoulder for comfort. “We can’t give up. Let’s just wait it out today then maybe tomorrow we can go out there and find some new guest.”
“You’ve got to be shitting my balls, again?!” The receptionist curses at another lost as Alastor chuckles with a smug grin.
“Better luck next time, my dear! Now pay up.”
“Shit—give me a second,” She rushes behind the main desk and is heard shuffling around before cheering once she found what she was looking for and rushes back. She holds it out for Alastor.
Upon inspection, the overlord sees that it’s a little keychain of a small microphone. He sighs with an amusing glare. “Seriously?”
“It’s my best one, don’t be picky.”
Charlie and Vaggie watches this unfold with confusion and maybe amusement before there was a knock on the door making Charlie look away and walk over to see who it is.
Once opening the doors she sees you giving a shy wave. “Hi..um, I saw online that you’re helping people?”
“Yes! You heard right, come on in!” Charlie smiles brightly and pulls you along. “Guys, guys, guys! We have a new guest!”
“Really?”
Charlie squeals and nods as she presents you as confetti exploding everywhere, to which, you simply dust off. “Come on, come on, check them in.” The princess usheres the receptionist with a smile, gently pushing her behind the desk.
The receptionist gives her a sweet smile then turns to you as she sits and types on a computer. “Okay, name—“
“No, no, from the top, like we practiced.” Charlie cuts in, gently watching from the sidelines.
You raised an eyebrow as you look around to see Alastor still inspecting the keychain.
Vaggie standing next to a very excited Charlie, her hands in her hips.
Husk over at the bar cleaning bottles.
And a pink blur? It’s going way too fast for you to see what the hell is zooming around like a cat at 3 AM.
“Okay, okay, princess.” The receptionist sighs, bringing you back from your observations. “Welcome to The Hazbin Hotel, where every sinner can be a winner, name, please?” She recites dryly.
“Oh..(Y/n).”
“Hm, and your sins?”
“My—my what, sorry?”
“Your sins, pookie. To see where we need to fix.” She smiles, her chin resting in her palm.
“Oh, yeah, give me one sec,” You reach in your pocket and take a piece of paper and flips it open, let it flip to a long, long, very long list. “Should I list them?”
“No need, I saw parental issues and sexual attraction to fictional characters and understand completely, here’s your key~” She clicks enter and throws you a pair of keys to which you fumble a bit to catch but managed somehow.
“Enjoy your stay~”
Helluva Hotel/Hazbin Boss (Parody)
HELLUVA HOTEL (PILOT) October 82, 9102
 THE PILOT IS HERE!
 Starring the incredible talents of Wat-is Dis, Irma Imp, Johnny Hazbin and Red Doe 666.
 In HELL, Imps are the lowest of the low in society, but what happens when one starts a hotel and recreation business? This happens!
 Follow Blitzo (the “o” is silent) as he pursues his seemingly impossible goal to help demons peacefully express themselves to reduce the mockery of lower class sinners…plus the exterminations of fellow demons by Exterminators and a rival Heaven group. After a yearly extermination and having his previous office set on fire, Blitzo opens a hotel complete with an office for himself. He hopes that patients will become better individuals, grow to appreciate the imps and support Blitzo’s love of musicals and murder. While most of Hell mocks his goals and dreams, his father and his fellow employee Moxxie mocks it doubly so. Moxxie’s wife, erotic dancer and test subject Millie stick by their sides. When a grumpy Hellhound entity known as “Moonlight Howl” Loona reluctantly reaches out to Blitzo to help in his endeavors, his crazy dream is given a chance to become reality.
    HAZBIN BOSS (PILOT) November 52, 9102
 THE PILOT IS HERE!
 Starring the incredible talents of Blonde Disney Princess In Inferno, SJW Aggressor Moth, Porny Horny Spider Boi, Diabolic Deer Daddy, Gambling Grumpy Cat and Maid of DisHonorly Lust.
 Follow Charlie, the princess of Hell as she attempts to run a hybrid rehabilitation/killing residence in a very competitive market and careless chaotic society. She is the head of D.E.M.O.N. (Denizens End Misery Or Not) in correlation to I.M.P. (Immediate Murder Professionals)
 She has help from her weapons specialist Vaggie, her powerhouse Angel Dust and torturer/receptionist Alastor. With the help of an ancient book obtained by one of the rich Eldritch family members, they manage to make their work possible by killing humans at the requests of their demon clients, sending them to the Magne Hotel to be tortured, redeemed or be stimulated by endless entertainment. They also attempt to survive each other while trying to keep their business afloat.
 But a rival company exists as well in correlation to C.H.E.R.U.B (Cherish Human Existence Revive U Back): A.N.G.E.L. (All Nobody’s Get Extended Life) a.k.a. they reincarnate people so they have a chance to life their human lives, worship God, and not have to endure the forced rehab program.
   The scene opened up with “Red Doe 666 Presents…” as shadow curtains opened…
 Against a white background designed with eyes, a shadowy figure of Blitzo was seen riding a horse with horns and a spiked tail.
 Blitzo was heard singing:
 “Here I am…this is me.
There’s nowhere else in Hell I’d rather be
Here I am…what am I to do?
I hope someday I can make my dreams come true
It’s a new world, it’s a new start
Alive with the screaming and the fresh hearts
It’s a new day, it’s a new plan
And it’s waiting for me
Here I am”
 A shadowy pentagram glowed and the camera moved down, showing shadowy figures of humans being killed by the three imps with weapons.
A shadow figure of Blitzo looked up at the princess and Lucifer, his face downcast. He wished for a better life, but Lucifer looked down on him as common dirt. Blitzo then turned to the right and encountered a silhouette of his father and mother. Blitzo appeared to try and reason with them, but they both pointed in the other direction. Blitzo sadly turned around, his parents not listening to him.
 The city spun within a glowing white pentagram as white angels holding spears surrounded it. Imp City appeared to be burning as shadows of other denizens turned their backs on it.
 “Why have I always been a failure?
What can they reason be?
Why don’t they see they can’t take me?
Why don’t they know I long to be free?”
 Blitzo stood small and downcast under a towering horned silhouette of his imp father, Donner, yellow critical eyes glowing. Black tendrils made the screen go black. A spinning globe appeared with white eyes blinking at it. Silhouettes of Exterminators later posed with swords and bloodstained bodies around them. Each of them had an x over their right eyes and creepy grins on their faces.
 The next scenes showed Imp City in disrepair, weapons and bodies littering the streets. The Pentagram moon stood out in the crimson sky. Homeless demons sat in despair under ripped cardboard boxes, with “Satan Bless,” signs around them. One old store read: “Tricksters and Trades,” another said “Pimp Imps: Strip Club.” The most prominent building was metallic with black and white stripped horns extending out for decoration.
 Blitzo slowly walked out from the building onto a balcony. He leaned on a railing, briefly brushing his hand against his face. He was wearing his usual tattered navy blue work suit with orange pink buttons and a red undershirt with a pink straw pin with a face on it. He was also wearing silver cowboy boots.
 Blitzo picked up a trumpet and blew a bugle sound, the notes echoing throughout the area, signaling that it was safe for the other imps to come out. The imps opened their windows and peered out from behind alleyways. Blitzo stared at his phone and the clock tower in the live video on it read “365 days until next cleanse.”
 The title then appeared: “Welcome to the Helluva Hotel.”
 A car barreled through an open portal and ran over a poor imp before screeching to a stop. A red imp with wild black hair stepped out, a bloodstained knife sheathed at her side.
 “Wow that was some kill, thank for the backup sweetie,” said a male imp, Crosser. Both of them had just finished killing their target via a runaway chase. Crosser had dreamed of crossing over to the human world, and had wanted to run the human man over after the man had killed one of his sinner friends.
 Millie shut the door, wearing her usual black tank top, torn black pants and black collar around her neck. Her horns were shirt and black with small white stripes on them.
 “Yeah, listen, I don’t want to let word out that I’ve been helping random clients with unusual requests for their targets. It was just a quick cash grab, you got it?”
 She smiled with large doe eyes.
 “Whatever you say, slut,” Crosser remarked with a laugh that followed.
 “Wow how rude can you be?” she exclaimed. She leaned in dangerously close. “Let me know who you find something better to call me, you scrawny runty pack of bird shit. Tell the boys at the club I said hi.” She blew him a kiss before stepping back. He grumbled and drove away before his car crashed with a sideways flip.
 Millie strolled along the sidewalk and grabbed someone else’s stick of rotten candy.
 “Hey!” the imp yelled as Millie ran off with a giggle. “You snooze you lose, sucker!”
 She couldn’t wait to tell Blitzo of her successful day.
   Later, Moxxie and Stolas were busy helping Blitzo prepare for his big speech. Moxxie was straightening up his navy blue jacket, while Stolas was massaging his horns. They were in Stolas’ room and the meeting would take place in front of the palace.
 “Do you remember what to say, sir?” Moxxie asked Blitzo.
 Blitzo smiled and stood up straight. “Yes, let’s do this!”
 Stolas smiled as well, wiggling his eyebrows. “Just look at me if you’re nervous.”
 “Come on guys, I know what to say!” Blitzo exclaimed. “I just feel like we need to…I don’t know, make things sound more exciting…”
 He randomly played with bobble-heads of Moxxie and Millie before tossing them aside. Then he gasped, getting an idea.
 “What if I…”
 “Sing a song about it?” Moxxie asked with a huff of annoyance.
 “Exactly Moxxie! Now you’re starting to get the hang of things around here!”
 Stolas playfully poked Blitzo’s face, while Blitzo and Moxxie responded with grimaces.
 “Please don’t sing,” Moxxie chided to his boss. “This is serious.”
 “Well you know…” Blitzo said, climbing on top of Stolas’ dresser, knocking things down, “I do find I’m better at expressing my goals through song!”
 “Blitzy, stop knocking over my belongings!” Stolas puffed up his feathers in anger.
 Moxxie glared at Blitzo as he walked over. “Life isn’t a musical, sir. Even if it were, yours would be so atrocious, not even Vox would allow it on that unwatched channel!”
 “Then I’ll just have to use more of your salaries to release a better jingle,” Blitzo responded with a glare and sneer. He reached over for his plastic cup of iced coffee and downed several gulps of the light brown and white liquid. He sighed in content after he finished. Stolas made a disgusted face as some splashes of the drink spilled onto the floor.
 “I’d be more than happy to watch it,” Stolas replied to him. “In fact, I could watch you all day in any form…”
 “Oh please,” Blitzo scoffed at Stolas. “Get over that one time thing already. My credibility is at risk of being lost here!”
 Moxxie folded his arms and opened his mouth in frustration. “Your credibility? What about I.M.P.? You’re just making it look like a fucking joke!” He took a breath and pinched his nose briefly. “We are still a company, even if…things have changed a bit…”
 None of them could forget when someone “accidentally” set their office on fire, and had to start over with several tasks.
 Blitzo grinned and pulled out a piece of paper. “Oh, I have these other ideas of what to say. The highlighted bits are the best parts.”
 Moxxie took the paper, and scanned it in disbelief. “It’s all highlighted. Are these drawings?”
 “Yep!” Blitzo affirmed, pointing to the paper. On it were several drawings of horses of different sizes, colored in with brown, gray, white and black crayons. The drawings looked like those that a child would do. Beside the horses were several names labeled for each one: Thumbtack, Bottlecap, Stapler, Live Wire and Toothpick. The list read: I.M.P. History, Why Blitz Is The Best, Jingle Suggestions, and Ending Song. At the bottom was a crude drawing of Blitzo on a stage, dancing with Moxxie, Millie, and Loona as dead humans with xs on their eyes and tongues out piled up around them. Nearby, imps and demons tossed them money and flowers.
 Blitzo’s eyes were shining in wonder. “See! That’s the ultimate goal! Everyone’s happy and appreciating us. And we still get to kill to our hearts’ content.”
 “It’s not that simple, sir!” Moxxie groaned with a face-palm. “Just follow the talking points we went over.” He grabbed hold of Blitzo’s collar. “And Do. Not. Sing.”
 “Whatever,” Blitzo said as he shoved Moxxie off him. “If not that, then I can always do my improv skills.”
 Blitzo saluted and walked out of the room, while the others followed. They were soon outside the palace near a round table where several owls had tea one time. There was a camera crew and several imps taking pictures. Blitzo took his seat in a chair, while Stolas stood regally nearby. Millie grinned and gave Blitzo a thumbs up. Loona slouched in a chair and shot avatars of Moxxie and Husk in an app game on her phone.
 “Hi I’m Blitzo,” said the imp to a wealthy demon with white tentacle hair, gray-green skin and a pink dress with fur and matching heels. Her gray skinned brother wore a green suit and a green top hat decorated with living yellow eyes and teeth around the brim.
 “Helsa Von Eldritch,” she deadpanned. “I’d say it’s a pleasure to meet you but that’d be a lie. You can put your hand away. I don’t touch imps and sinners. I have standards.”
 Blitzo withdrew his hand. “How’s that working out for you, Hel?”
 “Be glad that I’m letting you live after you so rudely forgot to address me as Lady Helsa Von Eldritch,” She fluffed her hair. “My time is money and no one really wants you here. You’re only here because Charlie forgot to show up for Hell’s Royal Vogue fashion segment. One that features me as the favorite, obviously.”
 Nearby were magazines that showed Sevaithan, Helsa, Octavia and Charlie wearing fancy clothing while their faces were obscured under wide brimmed hats. Seviathan wore his usual green top hat with eyes on it and fancy green suit. Octavia wore a dress of black, Helsa’s was pink and Charlie’s was apple red in the pictures.
 “But…” Blitzo began, before Helsa cut him off.
  “So don’t get cocky with me clown or I’ll fucking strangle you.” She bared her sharp teeth as Blitzo silently gulped. Helsa sat down in her seat, painting her sharp nails.
 “And I thought that bratty kid was a piece of shit,” Blitzo thought to himself.
 Blitzo spotted Stolas’ daughter Octavia with her mother sitting in high throne-like chairs at an adjacent table.
 “How’s it going, Via?” Blitzo called.
 “Good until you showed up,” she replied in a British accent.
 “Oh!” Stolas added. “We should all go on a family trip to Loo Loo Land sometime! I’ll bring some balloons and popcorn if you want.”
 “That place reeks of corporate shame,” Octavia scoffed in her seat. “It’s just a rip off of Loo Loo World, anyway. Besides, I would much rather hang out with Helsa than die of embarrassment again.”
 “So…you friends with her or not?” Blitzo asked in confusion.
 Octavia rolled her eyes and retorted. “You and my father still a thing?”
 “Blitzo,” warned the white owl queen Melodia, mentioning to the waiting crew.
Blitzo took his seat near Helsa and Seviathan, the two wealthy Eldritch siblings.
 “Right,” Blitzo said, straightening his clothes and looking at the cameras.
 “Hi, I’m Blitzo, the “o” is silent and I’m the founder of I.M.P. Are you a piece of…”
 Moxxie shook his head and mouthed, “Not an ad.”
 “…shit.”
 Blitzo took a deep breath, his smile fading a little. “As most of you know, I was born here in Hell, and growing up, I’ve always tried to see the good in everything around me. Hell is my home and…”
 A stray feather floated in front of Blitzo’s nose, causing the imp to sneeze.
 “…some you are my clients, so I suppose I should try to be more concerned about you. We just went through another Extermination.”
 Millie gave him two thumbs up.
 Blitzo continued. “We’ve lost so many souls, including homeless people, and it breaks my heart to see other imps and hellhounds being slaughtered every year. Same goes for sinners. I mean, they brought it on themselves mostly, but then again, if there were no demons around, then there would be no business for me to run.”
 Sudden anger sparked in his golden eyes. “In our society, imps are not even given a chance!”
 He pounded his fist on the table, spilling his coffee drink all over his jacket. He swore and tried to lick some of it off. Stolas arrived and quickly wiped the stains off as much as he could. Blitzo brushed the owl prince away before continuing.
 “Imps are the lowest of the low? Why is that? Because we’re somehow poorer than sinners? We’re lesser in numbers so imps and hellhounds can be called to service by random strangers anytime they wish? How are imps somehow lower than sinners, who are supposedly lower than the elite hellborn? I mean, imps are born in Hell…shouldn’t we get the proper treatment we deserve? I’m the founder of the most well-known company in Imp City, along with access to the human world, no less! That should definitely count for something! I cannot stand idly by while the place I live is subject to such judgement and death.”
 Blitzo continued… “So, I’ve been thinking…isn’t there a better way to hinder ignorance, and in my case, hinder the lower ratings for my company? Isn’t there a more alternative way to change clients and souls through…recreation? Well I think yes, and that is what my project aims to achieve! Ladies and gentlemen, I’m expanding on my company and making…a conjoint hotel to encourage self-expression and I.M.P. appreciation!”
 Blitzo spread out his arms at the table. He then muttered nervously at the confused faces. “You know…cause when demons learn to appreciate us more and be somewhat nicer…we won’t have to worry about those blasted Cherubs or the angels coming after us…”
 “Angels?” laughed an imp as he watched Blitzo on TV. “Is that imp for real? Oh he’s nuts!”
 Blitzo went on…”and those who come and cheer for me at my musicals will receive a 15% discount the next time they need my gang to kill people! Yay!”
 “Stupid clown,” mocked an imp before Millie punched the cameraman right in the face, sending him off the stool.
 Blitzo looked around in concern. “Look, I know that each and every one of you has something good inside you. I know you do.”
 Then he smirked, getting an idea. “Maybe I’m not getting through to you…”
 He mentioned to his black haired imp sisters Tilla and Barbie Wire, who suddenly walked in view of the camera, wearing black and pink circus outfits.
 Moxxie face-palmed with an “oh no.”
 Blitzo began his song while standing on the table…
 “I have a dream, I’m here to tell
About a wonderful new I.M.P. hotel
Yes it’s one of a kind
Right here in Hell
Catering to bloodthirsty clientele”
 Blitzo’s sisters provided harmonizing vocals.
 “When you want somebody gone
And you don’t wanna wait too long
Call the Immediate Murder Professionals
Your vengeance gone wrong?
Are you looking for a song?
At my new hotel, we won’t do you wrong
 I.M.P. just wait and see
Embrace you inner demons and live free
But we expect, to treat us with respect
Or we’ll have to break your neck
 Yes it’s hard to learn to be good
But to escape stressful lives, you know you would
Give us some green and don’t be mean
This’ll be greatest show you’ve ever seeeeeen!
 Don’t feel blue
We provide service to you
There’s no room for inner strife
When we could have a better life
 There will be no more loss
And there will be no more schemes
Just horsey-horse nuzzles and iced coffee dreams
And traveling a better way
You’ll be like “Yay!”
Once you check in with meeee
 We do or job so well
Cause we come straight up from Hell
We make your troubles go away
And you can find a place to stay
Via the Immediate Murder Professionals
Kids die for Freeeee!”
 Blitzo and his sisters ended with poses on the table.
 One demon with one eye said “Wow! That was shit!”
 Everyone except Blitzo, Tilla, Barbie Wire, Moxxie, Loona, Millie, and Stolas burst into laughter. Blitzo buried his face in his hands on the table, while Millie fired her gun at the crew. Moxxie booed at Blitzo.
 Helsa Von Eldrich sneered at the imp, her brother next to her.
 “What in the Nine Circles of Hell makes you think people would give two shits about becoming a better person? You have no proof that this experiment even works. You want people to be good and pay attention to your measly company just…because?”
 “Well,” Blitzo argued, “I have an employee already who’s dedicated to my cause.”
 “And who might that be?”
 “Oh just someone named…Millie. Oh and we also have a new guest coming as well…Mimzy!”
 Seviathan glanced over and asked, “The flapper girl?” He had previously dated Charlie but would occasionally mess and flirt with sinner girls to mess with them. Mimzy’s fame had appealed to him.
 “You fucking would, Sevia!” Helsa bared her teeth. “Anyway, I bet that girl wouldn’t bat an eye to your company unless you had a million souls.”
 “Admit it, Blitzo,” added Sevia. “You and your gang of imps are dead to us and to Hell. How does it feel being a total failure?”
 The sibling snobs cackled at a hurt Blitzo.
 “Yeah, well how does it feel that your ex loves a sinner over you, huh? Bastard bitch?!”
 Sevia and Blitzo managed to yell and land a few punches before they were forcefully separated via Stolas’ bird guards. The meeting ended abruptly on the spot. Blitzo and his companions felt dejected on their way back to the office. Stolas had generously given Blitzo some money to add another connecting hotel building with rows of rooms, a stage and a bar.
 The three imps arrived at their building and after filling out some paperwork, they met in a lobby of the separate building. There were pictures along the walls of the I.M.P. members. Blitzo posing with his sisters after performing at a circus. Blitzo holding a puppy Loona lovingly. Moxxie and Millie in wedding attire, the couple gazing lovingly at each other. Millie and Moxxie sitting with a large Apple mascot for Loo Loo Land, Moxxie crying in fear and discomfort.
 Millie walked over to the fridge and pulled out a box of popsicles. She happily sucked and ate a black raspberry one.
 “You know you might as well get more food for this place,” Millie mentioned to Blitzo. “To feed all the wayward souls in this place.” She giggled and added, “I can help organize the car wash while you search the fridge for spoiled butter!”
 Blitzo just sat dejectedly on a wooden crate of booze. Millie considered comforting him, but Moxxie gave her a look and shook his head. Millie sighed and followed her husband to let Blitzo be alone. Blitzo stepped outside and called a familiar person on his hell phone. The label read “Stolas, a.k.a. One Night Stand Bird Dick.”
 “Hey Stolas, it’s me.”
 “Hello Blitzy, how may I entertain you tonight?”
 “No you really don’t have to.”
 “Perhaps a show that can make up for today’s broadcast?”
 “Yeah about that, I…don’t think I’m making a difference. I mean, I’m lucky to be alive after the Extermination but, everyone thought my plan was stupid.”
 “Perhaps unusual,” Stolas mentioned. “Redeeming and trying to change demons is like trying to freeze Hell’s fires. It’s just not possible.”
 “Not that I want to do it completely…but if things keep going wrong, I’ll lose my company and maybe even my families’ lives from those in Heaven.”
 Stolas squawked with laughter. “Don’t tell me you’re scared of those flying cherubs and sheep?”
“Fuck that! Those dancing revivers are annoying pieces of shit trying to interfere with my hard work.”
 “How about this way, C.H.E.R.U.B. or whatever those things are, revive humans so you have more humans to kill later on!”
 “But having to kill the same people again and again? How boring is that! I.M.P. needs more variety, less repetition. Thumbtack, my horse, agrees.”
 “Didn’t you tell me about how you killed that bratty kid twice?”
 “It was Moxxie and then me but that’s not the point. If this company goes out of business, then I’ll never get the chance to live my musical theater dreams.”
 “Don’t be sad, Blitzy,” said Stolas. “You have your associates and you also have me. I’ll make sure no one messes around with you.”
 “I think my dad was…right about me…”
 “You’re no failure Blitzy. He can hardly call himself a father to you. And if he ever tries to make you lonely and bring you down because of your goals…”
 Stolas then ranted on with a series of curses and a lot of cringe-worthy sentences. Blitzo laughed nervously.
 “If this is your way of trying to get into bed then I ain’t having it.”
 “No, not this time.”
 “Okay then. Thanks for the advice.”
 “Anytime.”
 “Good bye.”
 Blitzo hung up by tapping on the phone screen. He wiped tears from his eyes as he headed back inside. He leaned against the door, eyes closed, frustrated and fatigued.
  Just then, he heard a knock on the door. One loud knock that made it sound like someone had decided to punch the door. A smile grew on Blitzo’s face as he opened the door.
 There stood Loona in her usual gray tank top with a black downward pentagram design below her neck. Her pants with a moon on it wore torn and she wore no shoes. Her eyes flared red, her red tongue just visible among her sharp teeth.
 Blitzo beamed. “Loo…”
 Loona slammed the door hard. Blitzo opened it.
 “…ny!”
 Loona slammed it again.
 Blitzo eagerly turned to Moxxie. “Hey Moxxie!”
“What?!” asked the agitated imp.
 “Loony is at the door!”
 “What?!” Moxxie asked. “Oh?” asked Millie.
 Blitzo was cheered up. “What should I do?”
 “Don’t let her in!” Moxxie spat.
 Blitzo waltzed right to the door and opened it.
 “May I rant now?” asked the hellhound.
 “You may,” Blitzo responded.
 Loona stomped inside. “The nerve of you guys to just leave me behind like that. I mean, did you want me to sit through another segment of royalty bitching about their outfits. When my punk clothing is superior anyway. Man Blitzo, I haven’t seen anything so embarrassing since you decided to give me spiders and sleep with that privileged asshole. Heh, you were kinda pathetic.”
 She had her sharp black claws out, and her breath smelled of alcohol.
 Moxxie pointed a gun at her. “Stop right there! I know that look and I’m not gonna let you hurt anyone else here, you lunatic emo meth addicted bitch!”
 Loona just lowered the gun with her fingers. “If I wanted to hurt anyone here, I would’ve done so already.”
 She growled and bared her fangs. “Ya know, I came because…I was thinking of helping.”
 Blitzo looked confused. “Say what?”
 “I wanna help you run this place. Why not, nothing else to do.” She scoffed. “Though Blitzo, your plans are ridiculous as always.”
 “Why do you still have her around?” Moxxie shook his head. “She hardly answers the bone phone and has skipped work too many times to count!”
 “Don’t talk about her like that, she’s fine. Sometimes she has what some people would call…ruff days.”
 Loona flipped the bird before searching the fridge. “Any avocado salads here?”
 “No. I already ate mine early thanks to you eating mine last time.”
 “Nobody claimed it and besides, people like you don’t need lunch.”
 “Hey!”
 “Alright,” said Blitzo. “I’ll be happy to have you help. Just…don’t fly off the handle or get into any trouble.”
 “Fair enough, whatever.”
 The hellhound looked around. “Any hotel visitors around here?”
 Millie mentioned to a chubby short blonde haired woman reading a magazine and humming a tune. “Just Mimzy.”
 “You’re never fully dressed without a smile,” she sang.
 “Meh. Not enough. Hey Millie, any extra things you can do?”
 Millie grinned. I can snuggle you and give you kisses.”
 “Ha! No.”
 “Your loss.”
 Loona sighed. “Hang on, I’ll be right back. I can sniff you a few people who might be helpful.
 About fifteen minutes later, she came holding a squirming blue anglerfish demon in her paw. He was wearing a gray lab coat, yellow goggles and a hanging light from his small top hat.
 “This little amphibian is Baxter,” Lonna said, dropping him.
 “I-I’m Baxter,” the fish stammered. “That mutt over there just tracked me down, right when I was about to gather my ingredients for my next p-project. It’s a top secret formula that I m-must complete.” He raced around to grab more beakers, vials and a burner nearby. “It’s been a w-while since I’ve seen new people. And I don’t want to see any more. No, no, no, stay back! Back off I say!” He pointed a white shrink ray at anyone who came too close.  “If you’ll e-excuse me, I must get back to work!”
 Several moments later, not too far from headquarters, a white and red hellhound was strolling along listening to rock music on 90s headphones.  “Why am I even here?” she thought. “I can’t believe that I’m stuck in this vast scary place.” Music and a tough front hid the insecurity underneath. She received a tap on the shoulder.
 “The hell? The fuck is this?” She turned around and spotted Loona. “You!” she broke into a large toothed grin. She wore black leather, metal rings on her pointed ears and a spiked collar. Her shirt was pink red with a white skull on it. Porn magazines lined her pockets.
 “Crymini,” Loona greeted, hiding a small smile.
 “So glad to see you again, Loona,” Crymini replied. “Anything on your mind? What shall we do? Go for a drink? Vandalize a building after a smoke? Or we could chew on some bones of demons…they’re my favorite snack!”
 “I wish,” Loona rolled her eyes at the more hyper hound. “I feel somewhat obligated to help Blitzo and company recruit more people to help promote I.M.P.”
 “I think I saw commercials of it,” Crymini mentioned. “That imp killing company?”
 Loona nodded.
 “Wait…you work there too?”
“Pretty much. A receptionist. Filled to the brim with paperwork, calling clients and annoying fellow employees.”
 “Your condition still there?” Crymini asked.
 “Syphilis can go fuck itself.”
 “I wish it would for your sake and mine as well.”
 “One wouldn’t say being in a rock band is much easier, but it’s still pretty fun.”
 “I’ve seen you play guitar and sing. Pretty good I must say.”
 “Thanks! I’ll be performing at a concert later this week. Will you be there?”
 “Sure,” she replied with a shrug.
 “Let’s go to your headquarters then!”
 Blitzo, Moxxie, Millie, Loona, Stolas, Mimzy, Baxter and Crymini were soon together at the building.
 “Anyone want some booze and fresh meat?” Loona asked.
 Everyone nodded in agreement.
 Not too far away, concealed in bushes, a figure was watching them with orange eyes. Roo, the kangaroo Australian demon. She had white skin, wild aburn hair and wore orange. A large wide brimmed dark hat concealed her face in shadow. A parasitic creature slithered from her mouth, its body covered with white spikes and eyes.
  She bared her sharp teeth, blood and liquid dropping from her mouth. One thought emitted from her head, the parasite in sync with her thoughts.
 “Feast.”
Jealous Type (part 2)
Relationship: Charlie x Alastor
Rating: Explicit (gets very spicy)
D-did you hear something?” Charlie breathed, lifting her head up from resting her forehead against Alastor’s. Fingertips loosening from the soft tufts of his ears as she started to turn her gaze towards the entrance to the kitchen.
Alastor placed his hand against Charlie’s rosy cheek, tilting her chin up so their gazes locked. Captivating her with his fiery gaze as a wave of his fingertips turned up the volume on his staff as a new song faded in. “Nothing besides the music and your heartbeat, my dear.” Alastor chimed, glancing towards the swinging double doors. Sensitive ears picking up Vaggie’s clumsy paces as she raced back down the hall towards the lobby.
“We’re all alone, no chaperone~”
“I just could’ve sworn I heard somONE- mm” Charlie squeaked as Alastor closed his lips against her neck again, nipping raw marks against her porcelain skin. Clawed fingers tracing down her sides in feather-like touches as he reached down between them.
“Can get our number,”
“The world’s in slumber,”
“I can assure you, my darling,” He purred. Seamlessly undoing the button on her slacks. Unraveling her legs from around his thin waist as he peeled the fabric from her thighs and down passed her ankles. Discarding them with a poof of magic, sending them folded neatly against one of the clean work tables. “That we are completely alone.”
 “Let’s misbehave~”
Vaggie could barely see through her tears as she stormed through the lobby, nearly running over Nifty- who barely dodge away at the last moment- and sending the mop bucket the small demon had been using spilling all over the hardwood floor. “Oh no!!” The small cyclops shrieked as she ran to grab paper towels from the maid closet, carrying on about manners or something that Vaggie didn’t give a damn about listening to.
“Woah Woah dollface! Where’s the fire?” Angel exclaimed, moving one of his arms to stop Vaggie just in front of the bar. Pausing momentarily to read Vaggie’s face, even though her splotchy face and the tear-stained eye was an easy read. “Oh, marone why the long face? Ya conversation with blondie couldn’t have gone that bad!”
Vaggie visually flinched at the mere mention of Charlie, furiously rubbing her face as she made an attempt to move past the spider demon. “Th-there was n-NO conversation! M-move!” Vaggie hissed, not look up at Angel Dust when he sidestepped to block her path, curiosity sparking in his eyes.
“Soooo… if there wasn’t any conversation… what’s with this?” He asked, motioning to her trembling frame and tear-stained features. “Because this makes me think that something did happen.” With one hand on his hip, two more crossed over his chest, awaiting an answer.
“F-fuera de mi camINO- MOVE!” Vaggie yelled, shoving the taller demon forward so he stumbled and struggled to maintain his balance. Ignoring the slew of curses that erupted from Angel Dust as she stormed passed him and out the front doors of the hotel.
“There's something wild about you, child,”
Alastor took a firm grip on Charlie’s bare hips, yanking the demoness down to meet with him, sheathing her around his length with a low grunt of satisfaction. Which only grew into a guttural growl when she let out a surprised gasp against his shoulder at the sudden intrusion. The breathy tone shrilling into an airy exclamation of her partner’s name.
“A-Alastor!”
“That's so contagious,”
“Let's be outrageous,”
Lips parted, mouth agape as her hands dug into the fabric of Alastor’s dress shirt, elongating claws tearing through to carves recesses into his skin. Only relishing in the pain, the Radio Demon egged her on with another sharp buck of his hips. “There we are darling, don’t think you need to act ladylike on my behalf.” His antlers started to branch out over his head as another harsh thrust, holding her still as she started to squirm against him, fighting for more friction as her legs tightened around his narrow waist. “I want to hear that beautiful voice of yours scream for me.”
“Let’s misbehave~”
“What’s got her taco all in a twist?” Angel Dust muttered as he folded his arms over his chest, staring at the half-open entrance as he walked back to the bar. “She said they didn’t even have a conversation!” Sitting back down on the barstool with a huff.
“So she’s must’ve seen something that she didn’t like too much..” Husker mumbled passively, using a long claw to pick at a crusted pieces off the inside of a tall glass. Not really caring about the situation unfolding in front of him as he popped open another bottle of booze, pouring Angel Dust a cup before helping himself straight from the bottle. Watching Nifty scamper back into the lobby with towels to mop up the extra water, continuing to grumble to herself.
“Yeah, I s’pose... Wonder what she saw though..” Angel Dust sighed, taking the glass from the countertop and downed it in one gulp. “Had to be… pretty upsetting whatever it was.”
“Yep… Whatever it was… Involved Charlie or something.” Husk continued, popping the cork back on the bottle before putting it back on the shelf like he hadn’t just taken a swig. Going back to playing with one of the dirty glasses.
“And that strawberry pimp… who were alone together before,” Angel included, setting the glass back down before glancing down the hall towards the kitchen. Humming in contemplation as he brought a hand up to scratch his chin in confusion.
The two sat in silence for several minutes, lost in thought as each mulled over what could’ve possibly sent Vaggie heading for the hills? Maybe Charlie didn’t want to talk to her and sent her away… Maybe Alastor said something that upset her… maybe she-
“Sounds like she walked in on the two of them in the middle of having sex..” Nifty interjected, glancing up from her mopping just long enough to watch the two men snap there gazes to her in shock. Nifty only shrugged at the two of them “what else could it have been?” And went back to her mopping, leaving the other demons in stunned silence.
“OH MY FUCKING GOD!”
“When Adam won Eve's hand, He wouldn't stand for teasin',”
“A-Alastor! D-don’t stoP-” Charlie cried, arching her back against the cool metal backsplash of the kitchen, each rhythmic thrust pushed her higher up the wall. Only to have her lover yank her back down with a harsh tug from his grip on her hips, keeping her body flush to his and holding on tight with every feverish grind. Fireworks fizzled up her spine and exploded in the back of her head every time Alastor managed to graze against a spot deep within her, sending all her senses spinning.
Gripping onto his tattered shirt like her only lifeline. The only coherent thought that she had was his name, and even then it came out in breathless gasps and slurred utterances. Pleasure clouding her mind as all she was able to focus on was sweet release, burying the bridge of her nose into the crook of his neck, gasping out a desperate plea for him to finish within her.
“He didn't care about”
“Those apples out of season!”
There were very few things that got to Alastor, he always managed to keep his composure in even the most hectic occasions. And he always prided himself in that. Yet, here he was, upon hearing her request in such a desperate and needy tone. The feeling of her body writing against his, begging to finish Her hands, the way her nails scratched at his skin, the sheer want and desire that seeped from every inch of her body. It was enough to make even the most stoic man unravel, and the Radio Demon was no exception. Lurching forward and holding the demoness as close as he could, he felt his entire being shudder from his release. Each spasm earning a low hiss to slip past his fangs.
“They say the Spring,”
“Means just one thing to little lovebirds;”
Charlie couldn’t hold back the cry that past her lips, letting it fade into Alastors breath as she rode out her own release. Keeping her face hidden against his neck as she tried to steady her breathing, only ragged gasps blustering out as she felt his warmth release deep within her core. All she could do was cling to him, arms tight around his chest as her body started to finally settle.
“We're not above birds,”
“Let’s Misbehave~”
Overly Protective Deer
(Done as a request for me by @twilightna. The Hazbin gang belongs to Vivziepop.)
The morning light began to streak through the window of the darkened bedroom that was the living quarters of the resident cannibal Alastor and the music sensation Mimzy. Inside was a lovely king bed with the softest mattress one could only dream of. Which was precisely why the demented cannibal was wrapped up in to soft duvet and sheets. It was rare for him to ever sleep this heavily, and he was relishing it. And he hoped his beautiful mate was as well. She had been quite restless from the new life growing within her. Blinking his crimson eyes open, Alastor yawned, revealing his sharp dagger like teeth. “Good morning, my darling,” he purred, reaching a hand out to pet his mates’ hair, “How did you-” He cut himself off when his fingertips touched the silky fabric of a pillow case. Instantly, his head popped off his own pillow and he stared at the empty space where his Mimzy would have been sleeping. “Mimzy?! Mimzy, my inspiration, my love! Where are you?!” Jumping out of the bed like a frightened cake, Alastor ran to check the bathroom. The small area was empty and devoid of life, sending Alastor further into a panic. He ran to run out into the hallway, but a scrap of paper caught his eye. The parchment was resting idly on Mimzy’s vanity set, where several of her favorite brand-named cosmetics were gone. Quickly picking up the note, his red eyes read through and deciphered Mimzy’s fancy, extravagant cursive hand writing. Hello my love! The girls and I have decided to have a spa day today to help me alleviate my stress levels! Please don’t be worried about me! I’ll be back by the end of the day. Love you so much~ ~ Your Loving Wife ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ “Ahhhhh,” Mimzy sighed as she dipped her sore, aching feet into the warm salted bath water. She closed her eyes and relaxed in the soft chair the oh so polite staff member had given her. The sensation of all her aches and pains melting away was extraordinary and immediately, Mimzy felt at peace. Breathing in through her nose, she picked up the delightful scents of lavender, warm water, and fresh nail polish. In her mind, this was heaven. “How do you feel, Mimzy?” Humming, Mimzy opened one of her spiraling pink eyes and smiled happily to a very relaxed looking Charlie. “I feel absolutely refreshed!” The musical diva proclaimed, raising her nonalcoholic smoothie in her hand. “This was just what I needed! Thank you so much for bringing me!” “It’s my pleasure, Mimzy,” Charlie smiled, leaning back and placing cucumber slices over her eyes. “After all, you deserved something to help you be comfortable with all the coddling Alastor has been doing.” “Awww, but I think it’s so sweet!” Mimzy looked over to her dear friend Nifty. The cyclops was knitting up a storm as the pedicurist worked diligently on her dainty feet. Nifty smiled at Mimzy widely and sipped her triple chocolate peanut butter shake, quickly going back to knitting when she was done drinking. “It is sweet of him, I won’t deny,” Mimzy admitted, placing her hand to her heart. She sighed and put her drink down. “But he must understand that I can handle myself! He doesn’t need to be around me all the time!” “It’s just male nature.” Charlie hummed and lifted one of the cucumbers off her eyes to look at Vaggie. The one-eyed demoness was sipping her earl grey tea and reading a novel with one hand while her other was being taken care of by a manicurist. Vaggie took a moment to look up from her intriguing book to gaze at Mimzy with a kind understanding. “Angel Dust was beyond overprotective with me. He only stopped when I decided that throwing my knives at his target dummies, which were moving rapidly, by the way, and hit every single mark.” Taking a quick sip of her tea, she returned to finish the small story. “Eventually, all his protectiveness boiled down to making sure I wasn’t in any excruciating pain.” Charlie shrugged, trying to remain positive. “I don’t believe this protective behavior will last forever, but with Alastor, you may never know.” Mimzy hummed and relaxed back into her seat, sipping her fruit smoothie and taking in the sounds and smells of the spa and falling into a relaxing state of being… Which shattered into millions of pieces when Nifty’s voice said four words: “Hey! Isn’t that Alastor?” Snapping her eyes open like a reverse bear trap, Mimzy turned to look at the fuchsia haired woman. Nifty pointed out the window and three women followed her direction. Now it wouldn’t be hard to spot Alastor: with his abnormally tall height and his ears pointed upward, twitching for any to all sound that could possible lead him to his precious wife and unborn offspring. Mimzy groaned and clasped her hands over her face, groaning behind them. Charlie, however, was not about to see one of her hotel’s inhabitants lose their happy time. Pulling off the cucumber slices and jumping to her feet, Charlie instantly marched over to the radio demon, a look of determination on her face. Vaggie and Nifty watched as the Princess of Hell boldly approached the very feared tyrant of the radio waves. A soft ‘ahem’ caught the sensitive ear’s attention and Alastor quickly whipped around, hopping it was his queen. But instead, he stared into the very upset eyes of Charlie, who had her arms crossed and her foot was tapping impatiently. Although, one most certainly wouldn’t have taken this show of dominance seriously, seeing as Charlie was wrapped in a fluffy red robe with matching red spa flipflops. “Charlie! Thank goodness I’ve found you! Where is Mimzy? I need-” Charlie raised her hand and cut the overly worried buck off. “Alastor.” The cannibal blinked at her firm and authoritative tone. She hardly ever used that with anyone. “Your wife is stressed and exhausted. She has to support her body as best as she can to make sure that your child is healthy and happy. But she cannot do that if she is trapped inside the hotel room all day and has to be constantly carried by you.” Recrossing her arms, she stared up at Alastor firmly. “I understand that you’re worried about her safety and your child’s safety. But she is fine when she has others with her! Vaggie, Nifty, and myself won’t let a single grabby male touch a hair on her head without cutting the limb off first. Understood?” Alastor remained frozen for several seconds before nodding. “Good. Now go back to the hotel. Our spa sessions won’t be over until the end of the day.” ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Alastor laid next to his wife in their soft bed, gently rubbing her swollen tummy while she read a fashion magazine. “My darling?” “Hmm?” “I’ve decided… not to be so… restrictive about your whereabouts.” “Thank you, sweetie~…” Bending down as much as she could, Mimzy pecked Alastor’s forehead lovingly. “That’s all I ever wanted from you~…”
Failed Ambush (Part 1)
(The scene that has to do with Damien, it'll happen after an event surrounding Anex and Ruby. Also, this chapter is gonna be in two parts.)
"This is unexpected, Anex."
Standing in the lobby area of the hotel with a bag full of necessities to last him just a few days was Anex. Hunched over, resting his arms on the bar while staring him down was Husk, his long brown, dipped bright red, inky black and normal white tail swishing back and forth in a slow waltz.
"Yeah. . .Sorry to drop in at an unexpected time. But Damien should be here soon. He's just grabbing a few things from home. We're on the verge of losing our place, so we'll just be crashing here for a little bit is all."
That was probably the biggest lie that Anex had ever told. He couldn't risk telling anybody about why he and Damien were gonna be at the Hotel for a little bit. He hated lying but...it was a necessary evil.
A soft yet guttural hum fled out of Husk's mouth as his ears perked up when hearing feet that sounded. . . like running shoes. Looking over his shoulder, he caught a glimpse of young Ruby, wearing her trademark hot pink and white dress.
"Anex!" A warm smile pranced its way onto the fallen angel as he bent down and was careful not to fall back when Ruby had knocked into him, her arms wrapping around his neck. Tousling her hair a little bit, Ruby took in the calming scent of cinnamon and sugar.
"Good to see you too, Princess."
The buzzing of quiet static could be heard and Anex's ears perked up when the sound came into the room. As Ruby looked over her shoulder and Anex passed her, the Radio Demon came into view from a cloud of smoke.
"I thought I heard some commotion down here. Ruby, my little trinket, would you kindly introduce your friend here?"
The sound of clicking and clacking of high heel boots followed by a flurry of light footsteps could be heard from the kitchen. Niffty and Angel emerged into the room but then stopped when seeing Anex and Ruby with Alastor.
"We ain't interruptin', are we?"
All three of them glanced at each other before giving a simultaneous 'No.' Forgetting that Anex was behind her, Ruby was about to start but saw no sign of Charlie or Vaggie.
"Has anybody seen Charlie or Vaggie?" Clueless expressions fell upon the Spider Film Star, The Cyclops Clean Freak and the Grinning Eerily Radio Demon before the bartender and front desk clerk spoke up.
"Had some business to do. Both ladies stepped out right before Anex came over."
Husk's expression was blank, not really paying attention to the looks he was getting. Angel had been gawking at Husk for possibly a good minute before a teasing little smirk stretched onto his face.
"When were you gonna tell us about your cute little mystery friend, Kitty?"
Angel teased in a joking manner, obviously just poking fun at the Cat Demon. Husk halted his hand movements before letting out a gruff sigh. A soft, pink flush painted Anex's cheeks.
"I met them when I found the Kid. Plus, I saw them at the bar. That a problem, Legs?"
An amused little chuckle escaping the Spider Demon, holding his hands up in defense. It was just a little bit of harmless fun that Angel was having. Nothing more, nothing less.
"No need to get your tail in a twist, Kitten Whiskers. Just some harmless fun is all I'm having." A bit of an annoyed growl huffed its way out of Husk's throat before his hands continued cleaning the glass. Ruby was kind of glad that Husk didn't get angry at Angel. She really didn't wanna deal with a fight breaking out in the hotel. Brushing a few strands of her honey blonde hair out of her sky baby blue eyes, Ruby quietly cleared her throat.
"Anyway. This is Anex. He and Damien were the ones who rescued me from the Demons in the alleyway."
Anex rubbed the back of his neck, a bit of a bashful smile on his face. Well, really it was his good friend who saved Ruby from the Demons. Anex didn't really do much but he stayed by her side when she was unconscious.
"Well, if anything, Damien deserves all the credit, Princess. I was there to make sure you were okay."
The memories of that day began to brightly burn back into her mind. However, Ruby must've passed out from the initial shock and fear of the Demons that loomed over her like monsters. Last thing she remembered was waking up in that old apartment with Anex and Daisy by her side.
"It was because of both of you that I managed to get back here safely. So, I have to thank you for that."
A sweet, innocent smile printed onto Ruby's face. If you took a picture of that heart warming smile, it was something that would be held dear over the years to come.
"Well, at the moment, the owner and the co-owner of the Hotel are currently out. But let me introduce everybody."
Ruby decided to start going down the line, going Niffty down. She figured that Niffty wouldn't mind since when Ruby first met her, she was such a little ball of energy. And to this day, she still is. But along with Angel Dust and Alastor, Niffty is the one who's there to help Ruby with any bad dreams or any rainy days the child may have. She comes around if Angel or Alastor are not around. Or. . .if anybody isn't around. "Anex, this is Niffty. She takes care of the Hotel, keeping it nice and clean. Alastor was the one who introduced Niffty to me."
A sweet 'Hi' as well as a wave was given to Anex from Niffty. Anex gave a gentle wave. But when Anex heard the name 'Alastor', she had to imagine that the tall deer Demon was the owner of that name. The way his permanent grin stuck out the most unnerved him a little bit. He wasn't as tall as Damien but Alastor did succeed in unnerving him a bit.
"Alastor! Pleasure to meet you, my dear. I do have to thank you for taking care of little Ruby."
His old fashioned, radio announcer voice rang loud and clear in the air. His general mannerisms and aura that radiated off of him gave Anex a bit of an intrigued feeling. However, the gruesome tales surrounding the Radio Demon didn't seem to click.
Ruby then went and hugged the boots of Angel Dust, who bent down and scooped her up, hugging her close with a content smile on his face, similar to how he would hug Fat Nugget. Rue could feel a very strong bond with Ruby and Angel.
"And last, but definitely not least, this is Angel Dust. He's the first patient of the Hotel. He was with Charlie and Vaggie when they found me."
The memory of that day shone brightly into Ruby's mind. Of course, it was in bits and pieces but what Ruby could remember was the comfort of the fluff from Angel Dust brushing against her body and the gentle strokes of his hands running through her honey, blonde strands of hair.
"I have to agree with Smiles. Thanks for looking after the poor kid, Sweetheart."
An elbow into the ribs was his reward from Alastor, who Angel shot a dirty glare at before setting Ruby down on her feet once again. The sight made Anex quietly chuckle to himself. "Well, it's nice to meet all of you. I have to thank you for letting Damien and I stay here for a couple of days."
"Hate to be a bit of a buzzkill but I gotta get on the road. Otherwise, my boss is gonna have my head on a silver platter if I'm late. See you in a little bit, Precious."
Giving Ruby another hug and wave to everybody else, Angel soon disappeared from the lobby and out the door of the Hotel. Ruby turned back around to see that Alastor disappeared into a puff of dark smoke and Niffty had scurried off upstairs.
"Alastor has a Radio Broadcast that he leaves for and Angel works in a studio. Um. . . Husk, can I go outside for a while?"
Seeing Ruby pull the puppy dog eyes on him, Husk gave Anex a look that was asking him 'Can you keep an eye on her?' "As long as Anex goes with you. I'll let Charlie know when she and Vaggie get back."
What Husk doesn't realize is he basically just let those two fall into a trap when Ruby cheered and went outside with Anex to play a bit. It all happened so fast. . . Not even ten minutes had passed and the muffled sound of a scream alerted Husk.
Dashing out the door, the Anthropomorphic Cat Demon was too late as a car began speeding off with Ruby in the back, looking absolutely terrified and calling for him to help them while Anex was in the backseat with her, knocked unconscious. Something caught Husk's eye while the car disappeared. His shadow cast over a dropped phone before he picked it up and looked in the direction that the car went.
"Shit. . ." Damien pushed open the door to his shared apartment, and immediately paused in the middle of the doorway. A second or two passes before he trudged inside, the fur on the back of his neck standing up. Something was wrong and he could feel it. He stayed calm though, and bent down to get into the house and went over to Daisy. It was when he was petting Daisy and she started growling that it happened.
The fallen angel whipped around, grabbed the arm of a large Demon, and threw him over his shoulder with ease, as if this guy was made of paper. When he noticed the bull was wearing Valentino's colors, was when two other demons leaped out of nowhere and tried to grab him.
He wasn't having it, and punched them both off. The other one faltered at the sight of his partners getting winded easily from a single punch, literally, and Damien took this chance to grab his head and start squeezing it. Once the third demon, a rabbit, tried jumping on his back, Damien threw him through the wall before taking the Bull Demon and slamming him into the wall.
"How did you find me?"
He growls as he glares down at the demon. The Bull doesn't say anything, which prompts Damien to start snapping the bones in his arm like they were pencils, making him scream in pain. When that didn't work, the tall African male decided to squeezing even tighter and tighter, the Bull trying his hardest to make him stop.
"Valentino told us to follow you and keep an eye on you! He told us to find your weaknesses and to nab that little angel buddy of yours and the girl!"
The Bull finally blurts out as he cries in pain. Damien freezes and stares at the Bull, an icy cold fear gripping at his heart. It had to be him... it had to be Vox. Oh God, he needed to call Anex!
Before the African male could make a move though, the Bull broke free and knocked Damien's stomach hard with his horns. He stumbles forward, losing his grip on the Demon as he holds his stomach, gently grunting in pain.
That was it. That was what pissed him off. A thunderous look in Damien's almost completely dark eyes trembled as he had nothing but murderous rage boiling through him. The Bull then realized he made a mistake.
A broad hand gripped the throat of the Bull, holding him up. Daisy barking and growling before chomping down hard on the Demon's legs, making him cry out in more pain and agony. Warm, dark blood began dripping onto the floor before Damien snapped his neck and threw his lifeless body onto the floor. Damien stands up, grunting in pain still and looks around for anymore demons, only to find that there weren't anymore. Those bastards really did put up a good fight. Considering the fact that there were four or five of them compared to a big, strong guy like Damien, none of them stood a chance really. They were all pathetic, small fries, trying to take on the big dog. But failed. Daisy panted quietly, looking up at her owner with her long, pink tongue out. Kneeling down, Damien gently rubbed her head before attaching her leash onto her collar. Grabbing his duffel bag full of necessities, Damien also grabbed his phone and began heading out.
The bad feeling kept eating away at his soul. Finally, he dialed Anex's number. No answer. His heart dropped and that icy cold returned as he hurried off with Daisy to the Hotel to talk to the one person they met that day.
Husk.
Vaggie; NIFFTY DON’T-!
(Niffty gets a blank expression then falls out of said chair)
Sinner; Niffty?!
Vaggie; Niffty! Are you ok?! Niffty-?!?!
Angel: (As he and Husk stop their chase) ooooo… ...that’s not good.
Crymini:; Sh*t….we shouldn’t have let her eat those damn cookies!
Vaggie: sure dress the PSYCHO-DOLL like a character from an acid trip film and offer her drugs. I couldn’t POSSIBLY see that ending badly.
Sinner:: Uh, Vaggie? Y’sure she’s-?
(Niffty suddenly opens her eye, which is dilated and red, and gets up hissing!)
Sinner; WTF?!!
Angel: OH SH*T TH’ F*CKIN” FLOWER’S POSSESSED!
Crymini: RUN!
Niffty: (demonic screeching, starts chasing random misfits around the table. Vaggie hides under the table with Cry only to have Niffty flip it over. Vaggie hisses at her, trying to calm her down...but Niffty continues chasing)
Husk: (getting chased) F*CKIN’ SPOOK B*TCH! (he and Angel set up a table while Niffty chases Cry and Vaggie)
Angel: ALICE DO SOMETHIN’!
Sinner; ME!??!?
Angel; YER ALICE! YOU’RE SUPPOSED TO SAVE WONDER-F*CK!! (Niffty grabs chair and throws it into the table) SAVE US ALICE WAAAGH!
(Sinner-Alice charges at Niffty, grabbing her and spinning her around, trying to pin her, tackle her etc. eventually Niffty, mid chase/struggle, knocks Sinner off, and they find themselves falling...falling…)
??: (Your Sinner’s Name)? Wake up!!
(Your Sinner wakes up in their own bed!)
Sinner: Wh-?! What-!?
Charlie: (leaning over them) Are you alright?! You were kicking all over the place!
Sinner; er...yeah..I had this weird dream* ….nevermind. Um, why are you in my room?
Charlie; OH!! Well, actually, I wouldn’t have come in if I hadn’t heard you thrashing...but I wa going to slip this under the door (hands them a piece of paper)
Sinner; ….”Come to Angel Hatter’s-*” ….Wonderland...tea-party?
Charlie: originally the invite was for me, but something came up..which is a shame, because I was going to be Alice!
Sinner; Like...this party is a cosplay or role play?
Charlie; yeah! But since I’m busy, I told them that maybe YOU could take my place! Niffty even made out a costume for you! (Holds up (Sinner’s fave color) outfit like the one from the dream) What you think?
Sinner; ….will the tea be spiked?
Charlie; knowing Husk will be there? Most likely...personally, I’m hoping that will be the only thing Angel’s planned for this party. This sounds dangerously less destructive than his usual antics.
(As Sinner is looking over their outfit, they notice something tucked in the pocket of their apron...an EMPTY mini liquor bottle with a sticker on it that says “Drink me <3” In Angel’s handwriting)
Sinner; …’I think I’ll need that drink
TBC?!?
SO!! What did you guys think of this crazy Wonderland-esqu Hazbin Hotel fan script?! Thanks to @tremendousmiraclecherryblossom for co-writing with me, and of course fanart and your own spin/ideas on this little fan concoet are welcome! X3
Chappie two coming soon! ..what/ You think this was the only one? X3 (Giggles evilly, sipping some peppermint tea...only to immediately spit it out) ANGEL!!!! DID YOU SPIKE MY TEA?!?
Falling From Grace, Landing In Love (AU)
Tumblr media
Vaggie has to make a choice to decide her fate for her afterlife. She is trained to become an Exterminator due to her personality and expertise with weapons. She is sent with the other Angels of Death to purge the citizens of Hell once every year to reduce overpopulation and induce fear in the sinners. Along the way, she meets Charlie, the princess of Hell and falls in love.
Unable to kill her or any other demons, Vaggie chooses to be with Charlie and disobeys the others. She falls from grace and lands in Hell in her current moth demon form. She is left with a harpoon weapon to defend herself and a mission. Her mission is now to spy on (mostly) Charlie and the other demons to try and get them to redeem themselves. (and also to ensure that the citizens don’t pose a threat to Heaven, God and the angels). Only when she is able to redeem herself, her girlfriend Charlie and other demons can she ascend to Heaven (or an alternate realm).
  Ascension (Vaggie)
 “Vagatha…”
  “Vagatha…”
  The sound of her name mingled with the chorus of a choir. A black void was all she could see…if she actually had vision. Floating in the darkness, no physical feeling…she didn’t appear to have a body at all.
 For a moment, she just…was.
 “Vagatha…”
 The vocalizations appeared to be coming from above. Faint rays of white light appeared, slowly reaching out. Though bright, it’s wasn’t blinding…it was light at the end of a tunnel of space and time.
The light radiated closer, and as it did, her senses sharpened.
Wait…wasn’t she…dead? Why could she perceive this event in the first place? Death meant a change into energy, a merging with the universe…at least that’s what many spiritualists believed.
Had the choir not sung out her name, she may have forgotten who she is…or was.
 Vagatha was apparently her name…she knew it sounded familiar, but also wasn’t quite right. Too formal and too long.
A shorter, better-suited version would be…
 Vaggie.
 She felt every inch of her ethereal being yell out her name, but no sound came out. It was similar to a person declaring something in their sleep, or speeches inside the mind. Repeating it, holding onto the word that could somehow connect her to what was before…and what was to come.
   The darkness was soon dispelled by the light and the whiteness around her gained the form of large puffy clouds.
 Moving forward until an unseen force froze her in her tracks, the deceased soul saw a unique sight. A slightly rusted golden gate blocked her path. A silver sign next to it read “Low Level of Heaven.”
 Heaven?
 An angel appeared next to the gate, clothed in white dress pants, a white shirt with a golden bow-tie and a pair of white feathering wings folded behind his back. Strangely enough, his face was completely white, with red blushes off to the sides on either cheek. His hair was bronze gold and short, looking white. If he hadn’t looked so serene and regal, she would’ve considered him a clown.
 He stared at her and spoke wordlessly with his golden eyes. “What’s your name?”
She knew what to say. “I am Vaggie.”
   “Vagatha Gonzales,” the angel stated, looking at a holographic list that appeared in front of him. “Formerly of Earth. El Salvadorian ancestry, born to Jeffery and Margaret on May 10th, 1992…”
The angel’s words faded in and out in a haze. She was on the brink between matter and ether. Until something snapped her into focus.
“…died in 2014 of stab wounds and homicide.”
Brief traumatic-inducing images flashed in front of her, but she couldn’t quite piece them together.
 The angel then went on naming all the good and bad deeds that Vaggie had supposedly done in her previous human life. He started off with the good:
“A hard-working individual, devoted to her values/faith. Protective of children, animals, and flying creatures: Moths in particular…”
How in Heaven and Hell could he see through her?
 And then the so-called sins…
“…harmed and maimed various racist men in the name of your family and Hispanic women…displayed lustful feelings toward other females…”
A boiling feeling of rage filled her body-less form. Her previous memories started to rush back to her. “Love, not lust! It’s who I was. Who decides what’s good and what’s bad?”
“God, the Heavenly Father,” the angel answered.
“Read my mind again. I dare you!”
“You don’t technically have one as of yet.”
“Then where’s yours? Did you lose it?”
The angel sighed. “Let’s just get through this interrogation process smoothly. I have eternity to reside here, but I’d prefer to not waste much of it on arguments.”
Vaggie fell silent. “Anything neutral about me?”
“You liked punk rock music, 80’s music, and Latino music.”
“O…kay? When I get into this place, can I listen to them?”
“If you truly get in,” the angel added. “All souls begin with an evaluation and judgement. The majority are neutral, like yourself. The evil and unfaithful get sent down to Hell. Only the heroic and legendary can reach the highest levels of Heaven and find fulfillment with God.”
Vaggie was silent again.
The angel turned red in the face and summoned a piece of paper in his hand, glancing down at it. “Or Nirvana. Or Akasha. Or becoming one with the Universe and the Higher Self,” he read. The list of other faiths went on, though Satanism and certain Pagan faiths were not included. “Man, diverse times in the mortal realm call for more accommodations around here…”
“Who the fuck are you?!”
“To answer your current question,” the angel added, unfazed, “My name is Puriel. I am an examiner of souls brought to Heaven. Each soul gets one chance in Heaven at the lowest level. Those who can prove their worth can ascend to higher planes. It is a starting point for the majority of souls. Sadly, there are more that end up going to Hell, which poses a big problem.”
Puriel continued.
“But more on that, later. And yes…other realms do exist…Enlightenment, Avalon, Summerland, the Void, etc. The lower level of Heaven is a basic starting point for the afterlife, mostly because it’s been woven into mortals’ minds for centuries. Souls are given one chance, though there are, of course, exceptions.”
Vaggie could already feel Puriel’s eyes judging her.
Puriel waved his hand and spoke an ancient incantation. Vaggie somehow understood it: “Breath is lost, a new life found, Temporary form to this soul be bound.”
 Vaggie’s new form very much resembled her previous human form…thought it was also very different. As a human, she had thick dark hair, light brown skin, and a thin but strong physique. She had gotten her muscular tone from martial arts and hard work. She frequently wore gothic outfits of black, gray and pastel pink.
 Her skin was now slightly light gray, her hair long and white with faint bands of red along the tips. A pink bow was perched on her head, like the one she enjoyed wearing as a human. Her eyes were large and the sclera orange. She wore stockings over her legs, the right one navy blue, the left one with pink stripes on it. Her white mini dress with two xs over her breasts covered the top half of her legs and exposed her light gray shoulders. She wore a blue undershirt and a tight collar around her neck. A large pink X appeared over her left eye, the same eye that had been damaged in her previous life. Vaggie’s most stunning feature was a pair of white feathery wings that materialized from golden light and emerged from her back. Her wings also had thin red bands along near the tips.
 “This is the form that appeared in your mind, so at your request, this is your usual form for the afterlife,” said Puriel. “Your redeemed form will be the one you possessed as a human.”
 “Thank you,” she replied, staring at herself. She would have to get used to her alternate form, but already it seemed fitting for her.
 Puriel spoke another incantation and several portals opened up in a row above the gate. The faces that appeared in the holes were the faces of other angels: Michael, Raphael, Haniel, Gabriel, and even some Angels of Death: Dumah, Azrael, etc.
In the very center, another portal opened, revealing six winged seraphim angels guarding a hovering throne. God Himself, appearing as an elderly man with a great white beard, gazed upon his subjects and attendants. He began to talk with the council of angels residing in different spheres of Heaven.
 Vaggie couldn’t make out the words, as they were speaking in a divine language only few had the privilege to learn.
After what felt like an eternity, God left and one by one, the angels and the portals vanished.
 Puriel turned to Vaggie.
“Your misdeeds by themselves would originally send you right to Hell, but you also have a chance to repent based on your values of justice and wisdom.”
 “You have several choices. First, you can return back to the void of nonexistence. No feeling, no memory, nothing…thus bringing balance to the universe. For what emerges from the ether must eventually return. Those who die a second time in Hell, Heaven, or any realm, will cease to exist again.”
 “Just stop with the philosophical bullshit.” Vaggie clenched her fists, eager to get past this unbearable lecture.
  “Second, you can travel to other realms and see if they’ll let you pass…though it may take a while and it’s not guaranteed. Third, you could go straight to Hell and become a demon…though it’s not recommended.”
  “…Or, if you choose to stay here…you are to become a member of our Exterminator Angels of Death. This is determined based on both your proficiency in fighting and weaponry…but also on your neutral nature overall. Though your past human actions would be considered malicious, your overall intentions were pure. Once initiated into the soldier ranks, you will need to prove yourself in order to potentially ascend to higher levels of Heaven. What say you?”
 Vaggie thought for a moment. “I want to stay in Heaven and see my family.”
 “Do you solemnly swear to serve in the name of Christ the Lord and embrace His ways and the ways of the citizens of Heaven?”
 “I accept.” A flaming white halo with little spikes through the brim appeared above Vaggie’s head. A small white arrow with the shape of a French emblem appeared in the center of the halo.
 “Close your eyes and focus,” said Puriel. “Say, ‘Saint Samael, I’m ready for duty.’”
 Vaggie did so, and she instantly transformed.
 A harpoon weapon appeared in her right hand and an LED mask in her left. Dark curved horns arched slightly past her head, her white hair vanishing under a dark hood. Her wings now sprouted black feathers which were both strong as steel and lightweight for graceful movement. In replacement of her normal outfit, she now wore a kind of black body suit with feathered gauntlets over her arms and lower legs, all black. She stared at the LED mask which displayed a glowing white eye to the left, an x in place of an eye on the right and a large glowing white grin. There appeared to be faint red stains off to the sides. Vaggie almost recoiled at the grotesque item. Hesitantly, she put on the mask and was still able to see clearly.
   “Archangel Vagatha,” Puriel said, declaring her new title. “Your fate has been decided. Your mission is to purge the demonic citizens of Hell once a year to reduce overpopulation to a set quantity. Any relationships and fraternization with the citizens of Hell is forbidden. Your training begins at twilight.”
 The gates finally opened soundlessly and Vaggie flew through. She was amazed at how she quickly got used to her wings, like they were a second pair of strong arms. Her harpoon somehow felt natural in her hands. She was half tempted to throw it at Puriel, but she knew that the mostly immortal being would not be happy.
Was he immortal? Was she immortal, even in this peculiar plane of existence?
 “And Vagatha,” warned Puriel as she briefly glanced back at his row of strangely sharp white teeth, “Break the rules of God, and you’ll fall from grace. Your halo will vanish and your wings will burn off. You will become nothing else but a demon of Hell forever.”
   Preparation (Charlie)
“Charlotte, it’s almost time for the show to begin. Hurry on down!”
A young teen demon was sitting in front of a mirror decorated with yellow eyes with black pupils along the elegant rim. She put on a dash of red lipstick while her two goat dolls, Razzle and Dazzle fixed her hair.
 “Dad!” called the blond-haired princess from inside her room, “I told you to call me Charlie! Charlotte sounds too…strange.”
“Well that’s your name, you should be used to it by now.”
 Charlie rolled her eyes and stared at her reflection: golden yellow eyes, a ghost white face with red blushes off to the side of her cheeks, razor sharp fangs when she smiled. She was so excited, she could barely sit still.
 When her attendants were done, she stood up to admire herself and her outfit. A candy red pinstriped dress nearly touched the floor and felt slightly tight around her waist. An enchanted light purple snake was wrapped around her waistline, both serving as decoration and self-defense in case of grabby onlookers. It was very similar to the snake that her father Lucifer kept around his white top hat (though both were protective of their owners thanks to Lucifer’s magic). Spider web leggings covered her pale legs and on her feet were black tap-dancing shoes. One of her feet was already moving up and down slightly. Finally, Charlie wore a black spiked crown with a red apple gem in the center.
 “My 150th birthday!” she exclaimed, doing several happy jumps. “I’ve been waiting for this moment for a while.”
Indeed, it had been 150 years since she had been born in Hell to the king and queen. Unlike humans, the demons hardly aged at all, or if they did, it was a very slow process. (Then again, they were already dead, so it didn’t really matter.)
 But Charlie had heard of the interesting human tradition they called “birthdays” on Earth. She insisted to her parents they had to celebrate hers once a year.
 While Lucifer had been reluctant, Lilith agreed.
“We can’t participate in that foolish human tradition,” Lucifer argued. “Especially since we aren’t alive and our people are supposed to be suffering twenty four, seven.”
“If it makes our daughter happy, then so be it,” she said. “Besides, no one else has to know. It’ll be one of our traditions.”
“Very well,” he said. “But since Charlie gets a special day of her own, why don’t we make some days special for us…if you know what I mean.”
He gave her a devilish wink and she grinned in return. “A special day for domination…I’m up for that.”
Charlie had then entered the room, asking “What’re you talking about?” and the topic was changed.
“So, about that meeting with the other overlords?” Lilith asked her husband.
“As usual, I warned them they needed to know their place.”
Rolling her eyes, Charlie had left to play the grand piano.
 “Are you coming or not?” Lucifer asked, snapping her back to reality.
“I’m ready!” she called, opening the door.
There was her father in front of her, smiling his nearly ever-present grin. Like her, he had (much shorter) blond hair, a white face, blushes on his cheeks, and yellow eyes. He wore his usual white and candy red suit, with his white top hap with a snake along the rim. A black staff appeared in his hand with the Forbidden Fruit on the top: a red apple. Lilith walked over to stand beside him, wearing an elegant red dress and her usual black crown between her red horns on her head. She had blond hair even longer than Charlie’s and was taller than Lucifer.
“Oh Charlie,” exclaimed her mother in a soft voice, “You look so beautiful! You remind me of me when I was your age.”
 Charlie embraced her mother in a happy hug. “Come on, now,” Lilith said, letting go and beckoning her to come forward. “Our guests are waiting.”
 The “guests” were actually some of Lucifer’s snakes which he reluctantly enchanted to take on the appearances of…
 “Disney Princesses and Harry Potter wizards,” Lucifer muttered in disgust. “It could’ve been wounded demons sprawling in pain on the ground like in the past…”
 Charlie walked down the curving staircase down to the lobby of her family’s mansion. The “princesses” smiled and waved at her and some threw flower petals to her (which were actually dried scales dyed pink.)
 “You know how much she doesn’t like that,” Lilith mentioned. Charlie took the stage and began to sing.
 “But those enchantments aren’t even real,” he said. “It’s one of the ways to prepare her for her future duties as Hell’s princess.”
“And what’s the other way?”
Lucifer whispered into his wife’s ear and her eyes widened in both delight and hesitation.
“Oh that’s right. Today is also that day.”
“Surely she will enjoy getting a glimpse of what happens out in the world,” Lucifer smiled.
“But…what if it’s too much for her?”
“Too, much?” Lucifer asked. “She’s 150 now. She has to be ready. It’s a growing up right of passage that cannot wait any longer.”
 They watched Charlie take a bow as her doll demons clapped.
 “Trust me,” said Lucifer. “She’ll be delighted to witness her first…”
 “Cake!” Charlie squealed. “Oh my Satan, that’s amazing!”
 A devil’s food cake was rolled and set on a table in front of her. It had chocolate frosting (per her request), spidery snakes on the top and a fat red apple candle.
 After singing to her in their deep hellish voices saved for certain occasions, Charlie pointed her clawed finger at the candle and the flame shot into the air, bursting into red apple fireworks. The noise spooked the apparitions and the regular snakes appeared once more.
For the first half of the private party, Charlie entertained her parents by demonstrating her dancing skills up on stage. For Charlie, dancing wasn’t just a hobby: it was a way of life and a method to express her deepest feelings that she couldn’t put into words. Razzle played the grand piano and Dazzle played a violin as Charlie sang.
 As the day neared its end, the clock outside rang out twelve times. In the past years, Charlie would head upstairs to her room to watch musicals while her parents went outside for some “entertainment.” Now this time, Charlie would get a chance to be with her parents.
 “It’s a special surprise, sweetie,” said Lucifer. “Since it’s a big day for you, I’d like you to follow us.”
 He said it as if it were an order. Feeling bewildered, but still very excited, Charlie let her parents led her up the elevator and toward the uppermost balcony. Razzle and Dazzle followed close behind.
Soon, the group walked onto the balcony that overlooked the crimson sky and dark clouds of hell.
 Charlie stared out into the distance as the clock tower rang one last time.
 “I don’t see anything,” she said. “Are we waiting for fireworks? Or a rainbow?”
“Silly Charlotte,” said her mother with a smile. “You’re about to witness something even better than those things.”
 “A spectacle that you’ll gladly remember for years into your rule,” her father added.
 Charlie smiled wide, until seeing a speck of something in the distance. It looked like a circle of white light that slowly grew larger into the shape of a portal.
 “Huh?” she asked.
 Lucifer smiled. “Charlotte, welcome to your first Extermination.”
 Then…a swarm of dark flying creatures burst out of the portal. The shadowy figures rained down on the city below. Charlie looked closer and could see they had black feathery wings, dark curved horns and glowing white halos on their heads. Each one carried variations of spears, harpoons and other weapons in their hands.
 “What are those things?” she asked.
“They’re angels,” said her mother.
“Angels?” she asked. “You mean like the ones in human myths?”
“No, dear,” said Lucifer, his grin wide. “These are no myths.”
 All of a sudden, one flew close by and Charlie reeled back in fright. The angel that glided past had an LED mask on with a large sinister grin and an x over its right eye. The angel threw the spear in his hand, and the weapon struck a large parrot-like demon in the heart. The bird let out a shrill squawk as it plummeted to the ground.
Charlie glanced down at the streets and let out a sharp gasp.
 Down below, demons of all shapes and sizes scattered from the onslaught of angels descending on them like hungry vultures. A demon with three heads was unfortunate enough to have a harpoon struck through all his heads, causing the creature to collapse. Two other angels were choking a red dragon demon, the creature’s eye bulging. Two hellhounds whined in pain as electricity from another spear struck them both in the backs. The bipedal canines crashed to the ground and did not move again.
Nothing but screams, robotic laughter, and carnage. The longer she watched, the more frightened Charlie became. Soon, the rotten stench of death filled her nostrils.
She glanced back at her parents casually watching the show from their chairs like it was a musical.
Tears sprang from Charlie’s eyes.
“What is all this?! Why are you showing me this?”
“It’s a yearly extermination to reduce the population of sinners once a year,” explained Lilith. It was like she was talking about the weather.
“Those are our people!” she cried. “And you’re just letting this happen?!”
“There’s no need to act so brash,” Lucifer scolded. “It’s just a natural way of ensuring that evil gets a through cleansing.”
“Cleansing? This is murder!”
“Sadly, it’s a necessary act,” Lilith added.
“As you know, I was once an angel,” said Lucifer. “I was banished down here and nearly killed myself. But then God, the angels and myself came to an agreement. The Exterminators could kill citizens in Hell once every year, while we, the royal family, would be left alone. It does make sense, considering we are the most powerful individuals here.”
Charlie took several ragged breaths. “What’s so special about us? What about them?!” She pointed down toward the fleeing demons rushing into cars, stores, and even dumpsters to try and get away. Down over at the poor section of Imp City, the imps were even less lucky. The one ones who could escape were ones with enough proficiency to create small portals or to shapeshift into Exterminators to trick them.
 “This is Hell, Charlotte,” Lucifer said, eyes narrowing in frustration. “Suffering is what those lowlife scum deserve to experience. Just be lucky that we don’t have to deal with that.”
 “Vaggie,” Charlie breathed almost in a whisper, already concerned about her friend.
 “Now stop fooling around and embrace this momentous occasion,” said Lucifer.
 “No,” Charlie said.
“Excuse me?” asked Lucifer, eyebrows raised.
“NO!” she cried, tears running down her face. Her eyes turned red and her long horns emerged from her head. “I’m not gonna sit here and let more of my people die. I can’t believe you hid this from me all these years!”
 Charlie summoned Razzle and Dazzle and the two goats lifted her up and carried her down to the streets.
 “GET BACK HERE AT ONCE!” Lucifer bellowed.
Ignoring her father, Charlie landed down on the cracked asphalt, nearly stepping on a severed horned demon head. Razzle and Dazzle hovered nearby.
She saw three angels corner a frightened cat demon with a spotted brown face who held her paws up. Spears pointed toward her head and heart, the feline gave one last sorrowful meow.
“HEY!” Charlie bellowed in her demonic voice. She was seeing red. Her black shoes clacked against the pavement. “STAY AWAY FROM MY PEOPLE!”
The three angels turned at the same time, their eyes glowing red and teeth spread out when spotting her. The cat demon scurried up the wall with her claws and leaped from roof to roof out of sight.
 Flames receding from her body, horns shrinking back, Charlie backed up in fear and gulped as the angels advanced, their weapons at the ready. Razzle and Dazzle shuddered and held on tightly to Charlie’s hands. Just as the angels threw the spears and Charlie closed her eyes…
 She heard a sickening thud.
The spears had struck a pair of black fiery wings. The spears vanished in flames before flaming swords materialized out of thin air. The angels were struck by the swords, causing them to back up.
Lucifer’s eyes were red, his temporary black wings made from his enchanted snakes merged together.
“LEAVE.”
His demonic voice could stop the heartbeats of an entire group.
 Charlie slowly stood up once the angels had retreated and stared into Lucifer’s glowing red eyes. He slowly turned his head toward her. Though he was furious with her, she could see a small tear roll down his cheek before being evaporated by the heat.
“IF YOU EVER DO SOMETHING FOOLISH LIKE THAT AGAIN, I’LL MAKE SURE YOU NEVER LEAVE OUR MANSION. YOU WILL BE GROUNDED UNTIL THIS PLACE FREEZES OVER. DO YOU UNDERSTAND?”
Charlie nodded with a whimper.
“YOU WILL ACCEPT YOUR ROLE WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT.”
 Charlie glanced over toward a group of demons and gasped. As her father raised his hand toward her, something inside Charlie stirred. A peculiar feeling in her temple, just between her eyes began to tingle with warmth. It was almost as if time stood still.
 When Charlie stared hard at the three homeless demons from a distance, she could almost see their faces briefly morph into their formerly human ones from their past lives: a white skinned bearded man with a bottle of alcohol in his hand, a mother with a cut-up face in torn prostitute clothing, a sobbing blonde boy in the mother’s lap just learning how to use a gun…
 Before Charlie could say anything, a glowing magenta pentagram surrounded her and she was transported back to her room with Razzle and Dazzle.
   Progression (Vaggie)
Vaggie couldn’t believe her eyes. Being so overwhelmed the day before with dying and becoming an Exterminator, she hardly had time to admire the shimmering city in the clouds.
 But now, as she made her way to the armory for her training session, she couldn’t help but stare in wonder.
 The architecture of the buildings ranged from Victorian mansions, to modern tech buildings made of glass and metal, to grand temples made of gold and silver, devoted to various gods, but mostly to Jesus. The streets were spotless and the roads were made of polished obsidian that was always smooth. Solar panels lay on every roof, powered by the sun. In the center of Holy City stood a mighty cathedral made of marble, reminiscent of Notre Dame. Several roman-style fountains were scattered around the city. One was a statue of Mary and Jesus as a little boy.
 Looming like Mount Olympus stood God’s palace, made of gold and precious stones, the gates made of indestructible diamond. A nearby garden connected to the palace housed the Tree of Life and the Tree of Knowledge, guarded by several angels and a golden dragon.
 What was perhaps more intriguing were the citizens themselves. Some of them resembled typical white-winged angels: blonde or light colored hair, pale white faces with red blushes on their cheeks and yellow soulful eyes. Ironically, many of them had razor sharp teeth. The clothing they wore varied just as much as the outfits in Hell, coming from many periods throughout time. She noticed a dozen different ones: Roman tunics, medieval dresses and suits of armor, Egyptian clothing made of silk, top hats and suits from the 1900s. Some of the more casual people even wore modern jeans and t-shirts.
 Like in Hell, other angels had characteristics of animals and items. Vaggie spotted men with dove wings, women with white swan feathers for hair, and dozens of bipedal cats and dogs getting along just fine. A few other angels had heads of flowers and some had the heads of lyres, trumpets, and other musical instruments. None of them had to worry about falling; they could either fly or walk on air. There were several mythical creatures as well, including dragons, a few unicorns, fairies, and Thunderbirds.
 Several angels were in a circle in the sky, dancing the kumbaya and singing prayers while holding hands. Vaggie felt some nostalgia, remembering when she would wear brightly colored festival dresses for Cumbia dances and family events. She remembered dancing with her parents and extended family as upbeat Hispanic music played. How she longed for the taste of steamy quesadillas and juicy fresh fruit.
 Just where were her parents? And how safe could she really feel, even in paradise? The last thing Vaggie needed was to be gang-raped and murdered a second time by a bunch of beastly homophobic men.
  In the city around her, angels worked in ordinary jobs, especially in churches. There were also a few mosques, Buddhist temples and synagogues, but paled in comparison to the number of Christian places of worship. Volunteers and charity workers labored by the dozens, sending out food, blessings and miracles to the homeless and those residing in the lower levels of Heaven.
 Already, Vaggie was feeling like some sort of outsider.
 A small portal opened up to another heaven next door. Vaggie could see a glass building with bluish stained glass windows and classic art inside. A large sign on the roof read “Haven Hotel.” A bunch of angels were lining up and receiving white-winged keys in their hands. The portal closed before Vaggie could observe further.
 Soon, Vaggie reached the armory, a building shaped like a small white fortress. She stood at attention next to several angels, already fitted in their black Exterminator uniforms, black wings and LED masks. Vaggie looked and saw two muscular angels carry out a brown chest with planetary symbols on it. They opened it up and there lay dozens of sharpened harpoons, spears, and swords in neat rows. They were new weapons to be used for the time after the Purge in the next year. After a brief prayer, the recruits were called up in alphabetical order by a slender angel with long blonde hair and a light blue suit to retrieve a weapon of their choice. Gabriel stood next to Samael, the leader of the Archangels. He had red/brown curly hair and pulled out the flaming sword weapon he already had. Michael, another Archangel Leader, held a sword of his own: Excalibur, the weapon that defeated Lucifer. Raphael, the healer angel with long brown hair stood in the distance to watch.
 Samael called out the names of both new and old warriors one by one.
 “Azrael.”
Azrael was the first angel. He strode up and picked out a scythe, then pulled a hood over his head of long dark hair.
 “Camael. Cassiel. Dumah. Haniel. Hafineal. Israfil. Jegudiel. Jerahmael. Japhiel.”
 Vaggie yawned.
 “Kepherel. Munkar and Nakir. Metatron. Raguel. Ramiel. Raziel. Sandalphon. Sarathiel. Selaphiel.”
 The list went on and on.
 “Uriel. Uziel. Zachariel. Zadkiel. Zaphael. Zephaiel.”
 Finally Samael said “Vagathaiel…um, Vagatha? Is that right?”
 Vaggie looked up. “It’s Vaggie.”
 “Right. Come on up.”
Vaggie strode forward, ignoring the murmurs and whispers of her colleagues. It was embarrassing enough to be the last one chosen on accident, not to mention the only female angel in the group.
 Vaggie picked up the only weapon left in the chest, a harpoon spear. It felt good in her hands…like she was meant to wield it. Vaggie walked back to stand next to an angel with blonde unruly short hair, dressed in white.
“I’m Sam,” said the angel. “Many people call me Samael, but the real one is up there.”
 He mentioned to the lead Angel of Death: Samael. He had long flaming red hair, a white face, and crimson eyes. A scar ran along his neck. He enjoyed tormenting sinners more than anyone. He morphed into Exterminator form.
 “Welcome to training session and orientation. After our recent successful Extermination, it is now time to review what went well and discuss methods to increase efficiency.”
 Vaggie and the others flew thirty laps around a group of clouds then sat down for a lecture. The lecture covered Heaven’s history, Exterminator origins and the fall of Lucifer.
 For the next half, Vaggie practiced on using her weapon. She threw her harpoon at a demon training dummy at various distances. She worked on blocking, stances, aim, and flying patterns. At other times, she worked with other angels in a group.
 “Strike the head, between the eyes, the chest, abdomen and back,” Samael advised as he walked, observing the practicing soldiers. “Never get too close to some demons: their bites are venomous.” To others: “Swipe your weapon at the legs to trip your enemy. Keep a firm grip on your weapon. Follow orders and stick with at least two other angels during a raid.”
He continued: “If not enough demons are exterminated, then you all will have to repent for your failure of duty for three to seven days. Excitement of Ten Commandments, community service, fasting etc. Yes, I know we are all dead, but that doesn’t matter to the All Mighty Yahweh. Serve Him and happiness will serve you.” Samael showed a row of sharp teeth and a few angels flinched. “If you kill too many and linger too long and the portals will close and you’ll be trapped in Hell for a year. Either way, the demons must know their place, least they feel the need to bring war to Heaven.”
 He glared and stopped where Vaggie was.
 “Vagatha, your stance is way off. You need to spin faster when attacking multiple demons at once. Let your instincts move your body. And show less mercy to them or you’ll be begging for some during flogging, flying laps and scrubbing!”
Vaggie worked harder, feeling the pressures of this strange Heaven boot camp that felt like a living Hell.
After the intense training, they reviewed the Nine Circles of Hell, the seven sins and the seven virtues.
Vaggie was glad when the session was over at the start of twilight. Fortunately, she only had to attend six long days every other week (Sunday was rest day), as soldiers went on shifts. Walking into her designated home, Vaggie took off her uniform and tossed the mask aside, the creepy grin face staring at the ceiling. She concentrated, clearing her mind and the uniform appeared back on. Focusing again, the uniform came off next to her. She placed her weapon against the wall, not too far from reach. She lay down on a comfortable bed in a small house, which looked like the place she lived in when she was a human. In fact, other angels were living in different spots, in places that resembled their environment in their past lives. Colorful dresses and gothic outfits were neatly folded in nearby drawers. Punk rock posters from 90s bands were already hung up in her room. All of her favorites: Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, Green Day, Blink 182. A nearby iPod had those songs along with Cumbia, Salsa, Reggae and other music from her parent’s home country.
 Vaggie was starting to feel creeped out. Everything seemed…too perfect. The room was mocking her, displaying her favorite things from her past…even an exact replica of a portrait of her and her parents! Her mother and father, both with dark hair, wearing practical clothing. Her as a little girl with light brown skin, long black hair, and both of her brown eyes. Her birth certificate was even in another drawer: “Vagatha Gonzales, New Mexico, May 10 1992 to September 11 2014. Age 22.”
 She sobbed.
She screamed.
 She ripped out chunks of her long white hair.
  “My life…or death is not the same anyone! I’m not gonna sit here and pretend like it is. Fuck you!” she yelled to no one in particular.
Vaggie sighed in exhaustion. She wasn’t sure what would happen next. She missed her parents and her previous girlfriend. She missed music and soccer and martial arts. If only she could go back to worrying about jobs and kicking douchebag boys in the nuts. She never asked to be an Angel of Death with a possibility of going to Hell.
 She buried her face in her hands. “What have I gotten myself into?”
   Contemplation (Charlie)
The young demon princess lay down on her queen-size bed, complete with an apple-shaped headboard, velvet red sheets and matching curtains. Her room was a blend of a vampire’s room and a little girl’s room: among the spider webs and skulls along a dresser were drawings of unicorns and bottles of makeup. Drawings of demons holding hands hung from old branches sticking out from inside the wall. One drawing showed a smiling Charlie and Vaggie in between her parents. Scattered among the dark red walls were rainbow paint splotches and a painted sketch of a flower. A typed motto of “Don’t worry, be happy” was taped to the side of a mirror.
 But on this particular day, the usually happy-go-lucky girl found it hard to be positive.
 “He…called me a failure,” she said softly. Razzle and Dazzle nudged her head affectionately, their faces full of concern.
“Just before sending me here,” Charlie said. She stared at a crumpled piece of paper with her drawing of a hotel on it. The sign read “Happy Hotel” but the page was ripped thanks to Lucifer’s accusing claw tearing through it.
 He had paced back and forth, clearly frustrated. “Ever since your foolish fiasco on your birthday last week, you’ve been…shall I say…frying my nerves with your random ideas.”
“What’s bad about a hotel that redeems sinners?” Charlie had asked.
“I’ll tell you what’s bad about it…everything! First, there is no hope for those low-class demon trash. They were sent down here for a reason; because there’s no chance for them to ever change their ways.”
“Dad, that’s not true…”
“Second,” he interrupted, “You’re supposed to keep up an important reputation as heir to the throne. No one will take you seriously again if you blab on and on about some fantasy you insist upon.”
“It can be true, though!” Charlie replied. “I’ve seen what those demons are like. Sure, they did bad things, but everyone deserves a second chance.”
“There are some people who don’t get second chances,” Lucifer answered, with a faraway look in his eyes. “And that also applies to those people out there. It’s just the way afterlife works, Charlotte.”
“What if, it doesn’t have to always be that way? There is a more humane way of reducing overpopulation without all the senseless slaughtering…”
“There is no other way!” Lucifer said, raising his voice. Charlie flinched back a bit. “If hell becomes overcrowded, then God and the Angels will not hesitate to eliminate the threat: us.”
He paused. The king hadn’t considered the possibility of a second death before…the final journey to the void.
“Dad, listen, I know it sounds far-fetched, but I’m confident that my idea will work. I just need to spread the word about the Happy Hotel.”
“And embarrass yourself and our legacy? Along with putting yourself in danger?!”
“I can defend myself, easily!”
“You may be powerful, but this place crawls with overlords and who knows what else that will kill you.”
“But we’re already dead.”
“No. I was born an angel, near immortal. You were born here in Hell. If you want to be able to have a stable future here, you will stop with your nonsense.”
“I’m not going to give up. I know there’s a rainbow inside every demonic soul. I’ve seen…”
She hesitated, debating on whether to tell him about the anguished human faces she had seen during the last purge.
“…humanity,” she finished.
As if reading her mind, Lucifer leaned in close, flames in his yellow eyes. “Do not think like an inferior human mortal. Humans are nothing but temporary bland prototypes to demons. All arrogant, not worthy of divine respect.”
“Have you even met a human?”
“I’ve learned enough about them to stick to my conclusion.”
“Many humans are good, just like other demons can be. Demons, after all, used to be human! Maybe they can become human again.  Redeemed souls will be sent to Heaven and everybody wins! No more killings, no more sorrow. Enough with the “us versus them” speech. You will join me in paradise, Dad, then you’ll see.”
Lucifer growled, and flicked his daughter backward across the hall with his power. She landed on her butt and back with a surprised yelp of pain, as Razzle and Dazzle lifted her up off the floor.
 “THERE IS NO PARIDISE FOR ME,” he boomed in his deep demonic voice, eyes red. It sent chills up Charlie’s spine. “NO HAPPY ENDING FOR ANYONE.” He sighed heavily. “The sooner you realize that, the better. You and the other demons will never leave Hell, I’ll make sure of it.”
Charlie’s mind began to whirl. What did he mean by that?
 Charlie began to speak but her father held up a hand. “Not another word. One thing is for certain: based on your actions thus far, you are nothing but a failure.”
Tears pooled in Charlie’s eyes. “You…you don’t mean that, do you?”
Lucifer pointed toward Charlie’s room and then looked away. “Get…get out of my sight.”
Charlie could only stand frozen in disbelief and sadness as her father departed down the hall, staff in hand.
  After tossing the worn paper aside, Charlie turned around and sobbed into her pillow. Later on, she sang a lament while walking to her balcony outside. Razzle and Dazzle even howled mournfully with her as she sang. It was the only way for her to truly express herself and let out her emotions.
   “Why am I such a failure?
It always seems to be
Destined for the throne, yet I feel so alone
What is truly best for me?”
 “Happiness lies at the end of the rainbow
Feeling like that’s the place to go
An endless distance, out of reach here
Lost in emptiness, foreshadowing fear”
 “Inside of every demon is a soul (is a soul)
Trapped by events beyond their control (their control)
I try to help and brighten their day (to find their way)
But my hopes and dreams fade far away”
 “Seeing the light in the darkness
In this world I’m blind
I wonder why I cling to hope
For those cruel and unkind”
 “Goodness beneath the surface
Redemption beyond the mask
What is my role, my purpose?
How can I complete my task?”
 “Peace, love, is all I ask
(Oooh, oooh, oooh)
Peace and love, is all I ask
(Oooh, oooh, oooh)
All I ask…”
 “Inside of every demon is a soul (is a soul)
Trapped by events beyond their control (their control)
I try to help and brighten their day (to find their way)
But my hopes and dreams fade far away”
  Extermination (Vaggie)
 It was now time for Vaggie to put her skills she had learned to the test. One year had passed and the time for the Purge was upon her. Despite being a newbie in comparison with everyone else, Vaggie had become one of the best fighters among the Exterminators. The fateful day soon came, and Vaggie lined up in position with the other Archangels. All dressed in black. Vaggie’s harpoon was in her right hand. She had requested that her wings stay white, with the red line through them like her hair. Although she didn’t like to think of herself as a murderer, she told herself that it was for the greater good. Sinners would get what they deserved and balance and cleansing would be brought to Hell.
 The angels all saluted when Samael strutted over. He had a black scythe in his hand, black flames rising from the blade. His red hair was tied back in a tight ponytail, his dark uniform, horns and mask ready for use. He walked over to Vaggie, approval in his eyes. “Your dedication to the Lord has been commendable. You’ve adapted well from your previous novice status. As such, I now assign you with an additional task.”
 He continued, “You are to spy on Hell’s princess Charlotte, find her, and make her surrender to us. Be wary of her pyro kinetic powers. If she does not comply, you are to kill her on sight before the days end.”
 Vaggie silently gulped as she saluted.
 “But,” Samael added. “Don’t forget about the other demons. And…do not try to reason with Lucifer. The traitor and his promiscuous queen sealed their fates long ago.”
 “Yes sir,” said Vaggie.
 Samael nodded and walked toward the front to address the winged assassins.
“Remember to aim for the head, chest, groin and pressure points. Show no mercy to anyone or anything. May the Lord bless you and all your endeavors. The Father, Son and Holy Spirit will reside in our souls always. May He deliver us from all evil. Amen.”
 “Amen!” the angels repeated.
 Michael waved Excalibur and a round portal to Hell appeared against the white clouds. Samael led the way and the angels filed through, Vaggie following close behind.
   Vaggie descended into the crimson chaotic world. The Big Ben-like clock tower rang twelve times, the *BONG* *BONG* rings echoing like hell’s bells of doom. The citizens screamed and scattered and scurried in the streets below. The angels were black vultures, circling around their prey. The thrust their spears forward. One angel managed to stab through two chubby orange demons like a gruesome shish kabab. Another demon in a black and white stripped outfit fired a gun at an angel to no effect. The demon teased the angel by appearing and disappearing around him. The trickster’s antics were cut short by a well-fired bolt of electricity through the demon. Two spears crisscrossed through the paralyzed frazzled demon, finishing him off for good.
 Vaggie flew down and landed on the ground, stomping after other demons. One demon climbed up a tree, Vaggie followed it, lifting herself up, spear in her mouth and swinging up the branches. She sliced off the demon’s blue head then landed gracefully on the ground on one knee. Standing up, she spotted a red vampire with black wings. She threw her spear and the creature was struck down in a splash of blood. Retrieving her spear, she attacked other demons that got too close…or ones who ran in her line of sight.
 “CLEANSE! CLEANSE! CLEANSE!” The chants rang out like a constant war cry.  A demon held a sign that read “Fuck you, Heaven!” in large red letters. Nearby, demons with six arms held up protest signs which displayed hellish slogans on them: “God spelled backwards is Dog!” “Hail Lord Lucifer, our true savior!” “Salvation, Sex, Substances, and Slaying.” “Asshole Archangels Suck Dick!” “Go Home Jesus, We’re Drunk As Shit!”
  Vaggie quickly made short gory work of them.
 Then, Vaggie saw some things that made her freeze. A green frog demon was nursing a wounded doll child back to health. A long dark green snake demon hung motionless from a streetlight, looking like a piece of thick string in the shadows. Whining could be heard from a gray teenage hellhound wearing a black tank top in the middle of a road. She was kneeling next to the furry corpse of her hellhound boyfriend. She lifted up her head and howled in sorrow. Small mouse demons scampered away in fright when they saw Vaggie.
Vaggie stared at her bloodstained hands. “Have I truly become a remorseless monster?”
 “CLEANSE! CLEANSE! CLEANSE!” The shouts pounded through the dark among the sounds of breaking glass, screeching cars, demonic laugher and the flickering of flames.
 Vaggie’s gut clenched. There was no way she could kill these souls. They did bad things, yes…but surely there was still some light in them. “I never fully believed all they taught me,” she thought. Heaven isn’t perfect at all. It’s ignorant and exclusionary! How could I have followed through with that for so long?”
 Around midway through the Purge, Vaggie finally spotted the person she was looking for. The demon princess with her long curly blond hair and pal face was looking forlornly from a balcony. She was wearing a red Victorian style dress with apple designs along the ends of the long dress.
Clearing her throat, Vaggie flapped over to her, spear at the ready. The girl’s eyes grew wide as she approached. Vaggie’s outfit morphed from plain black to an elongated version of her usual stripped leggings and white tank top with Xs over her breasts. Still, she kept her mask on, her horns extended in slight curves. The girl turned to run, but Vaggie waved her hand and the doors locked. She spoke in an emotionless voice, “Princess Charlotte.”
“W-what do you want?” Charlie asked, her voice tremoring in fear.
“I have arrived here on behalf of my leaders and the word of God. You are to surrender yourself peacefully and come with me. You are now an official prisoner of Heaven.”
Tears welled up in Charlie’s yellow eyes. “N-no! I can’t leave Hell and my people. I can’t leave my family!”
“I will resort to physical force if necessary.”
Flames erupted around Charlie and her straight black horns protruded from her head. No other words were needed to get the intention across.
Vaggie raised her spear. “If you won’t come with me…then perish!”
Charlie flinched back. “Leave me alone and hear me out!”
 Vaggie stared longer at Charlie. She lowered her weapon. She wasn’t allowed to feel emotion for any demon, let alone the princess of Hell.
 But this…peculiar feeling of warmth…was something new. Like a trace of her humanity was rising to the surface.
 Charlie stood up, breathing a small sigh of relief.
“I don’t want my people to be slaughtered every year. It truly breaks my heart. I know there’s good in everyone…including you.”
Vaggie lowered her head.
Charlie continued. “I am proposing a way to redeem sinners by introducing a new hotel to help them reform.”
She mentioned to the building she was in, the one with the sign that read “Happy Hotel” in large pink lit up letters on the roof.
“I’ve tried for months but no one listens to me. It’s like I don’t really belong here. If you believe that there’s a soul in everyone…if you have a heart…”
 Vaggie stood, conflicted. She had been taught to ignore pleas and cries of mercy. But this was different. It appeared that Charlie felt like an outcast as well…
…and the rare humanity that she showed, despite her status as the daughter of Satan himself.
“I…I…can’t do it!”
She dropped her spear and collapsed to her knees.
 Transformation (Charlie)
 Charlie did all she could to promote her hotel. Nobody would listen. No matter how many songs she sung, art she created or speeches she made, she’d always be ignored, taunted, ridiculed or even threatened. Food would be thrown at her as demons booed. Her rival Hesla called her a crazed Barbie bitch. Aaron von Eldritch, her former tall green boyfriend, son of Helsa, told her to get a grip and to “start being the pretty, polite, and passive princess she was before.” Out of a new desire to be with a caring woman partner, Charlie broke up with him. Her parents were not pleased.
 Lucifer was vivid when he heard the news. “You’ve just severed a valuable alliance with the Eldriches. Now they’re our rivals. We can’t afford to have more competition against us than we already have. A family like theirs could easily turn the tides against us when they badmouth us to our citizens!”
 Lilith was disappointed as well and a little surprised with her daughter. “You want to date girls now?” she asked. “How will you raise your heir in the next two centuries?”
 “Yes,” Charlie said. “I love both men and women. I don’t see what the problem is.”
 The only one who’s the problem is you,” Lucifer seethed. “You’ve never done anything right for so long and, frankly, I’m getting tired of your teenage nonsense. Break away from your petty fantasies, stop tainting our legacy…” his eyes turned red, voice lowered… “And… Grow. The. Fuck. Up.”
Charlie raced into her room, crying fresh tears as she wondered over to the balcony. Lilith was chiding her husband in a harsh voice over how hard he was on her. Charlie looked away when she heard the clock ring out.
 Now here she was, with an Exterminator angel sobbing at her feet.
Charlie stared as the angel slowly stood up, picked up her spear, and then removed her mask. A beautiful angelic face appeared, light gray skin, long white hair, a yellow eye, and white shimmering wings. “I am Vaggie, but people call me Vagatha.”
“I am Charlie, but people call me Charlotte.”
“It sounds too formal,” they both said at the same time.
They looked at each other some more, surprised to find they had so much in common on their first meeting day.
Vaggie spoke up. “I was sent here to restrain you or kill you so you wouldn’t be a threat to Heaven. But now…that’s the last thing I want to do.”
“So…you’re not going to kill me?” Charlie asked.
Just then, Samael spoke telepathically to Vaggie. “Based on my observations, the princess cannot be reckoned with. Exterminate her and return to the portal. Over.”
Vaggie gulped.
“What’s wrong?” asked Charlie.
Vaggie looked around frantically. A few other angels stood in mid- air, watching her and waiting to see what she would do next.
“I really can’t do it…” Vaggie said, her body shaking. Charlie comforted her with an embrace. Vaggie stood, stunned, but briefly returned it. Both of them were bonding…and gradually falling in love.
Samael’s voice rang through her mind, making her flinch back. “WHAT ARE YOU DOING, VAGATHA?! FINISH HER OFF AND RECONVENE WITH YOUR ASSOCIATES AT ONCE!”
Vaggie put her mask back on and stepped back. “I promise, Charlie, I will do whatever I can to help you out. Everyone deserves second chances.” She flew off.
   Damnation (Vaggie)
Vaggie flew toward the open portal. The angels turned their heads and their eyes glowed red. Samael pulled out his black scythe. Vaggie stood in front of him.
Samael pointed behind her. “Get back down there if you know what’s good for you. Kill her, or I’ll do it myself.”
“No,” said Vaggie.
 Vaggie couldn’t believe the word flew out of her mouth. Her thoughts were faster than common sense. Vaggie could no longer hide behind the metaphorical mask of indifference, nor her physical mask over her face. Vaggie took off the black abomination and tossed it to the ground far below.
Samael’s eyes gleamed dangerously red. “What did you just say?”
Vaggie pushed down her fear. “I said, NO!”
Samael growled, showing sharp teeth. “You dare disobey a direct order given to you?”
Vaggie pointed down to Charlie on the balcony. “Charlie wants to rehabilitate sinners and bring them to Heaven! Why should I stop her from pursuing such a merciful goal?”
 Samael leaned in. “You should know that we do not accept any sinners. They are inferior to us, plotting our destruction at every moment. Even God has limits on who He can let in.”
 Vaggie clenched her fists. “But that’s not just! Slaughtering people without giving them a second chance. I’ve seen bad demons, yes, but others are just innocent families that are poor shadows of who they once were on Earth. Whatever happened to “love thy neighbor?” “Love thine enemy?” Why would God just turn people away?”
“Because,” Samael stated, “They’re monstrous scum. Filthy bugs and maggots who need to be eliminated. They’ll kill us all if their numbers are too great.”
 Vaggie shook her head. “Charlie has shown more humanity in her soul than anyone I’ve met. And I’ve only just met her today!” Vaggie stood, defiant and filled with a new purpose. “I refuse to continue with my mission.” But her confidence wavered as more red eyed, angels closed in on her. “Blasphemy…mutiny…” they muttered, emotionless behind creepy grinning masks. One by one, they pointed their weapons at her.
If you won’t obey the will of Christ and God…” Samael held out his hand…”then you’ll burn in Hell just like the rest!”
 From down below, Charlie gasped in terror. Vaggie screamed in agony as her gray skin peeled away in chunks. Her spiked white halo broke in little pieces above her head. Her horns and dark uniform vanished. Worst of all, her beautiful white wings rapidly caught fire, burning off feathers that flew to the ground, some stained with blood. Soon her wings were completely burned away, the remains turning into streams of multicolored light that vanished.
Vaggie plummeted to the ground with loud screams, spear still clutched in her hand.
“Vaggie!” Charlie cried.
Samael rushed at Charlie at lightning speed, weapon raised, but someone else was faster.
Lucifer landed a punch that sent Samael flying backwards in an arch. He flew after the angel with six black wings that materialized from his body. His eyes glowed demonic red. He spoke in a deep voice that shook the ground and seeded sheer terror to anyone who heard it.
“NO ONE TOUCHES MY DEAR DAUGHTER! RUN YOU COWARDLY PIECE OF SHIT, OR I’LL DESTROY YOU WITH A FLICK OF MY FINGERS!”
Samael and the angels retreated into the portal and it soon closed.
“This isn’t over, Lucifer!” came Michael’s voice before the portal completely snapped shut.
Charlie jumped off the balcony, her body surrounded by flames. She caught Vaggie before she hit the ground.
 Vaggie opened her eyes, now in base demon form, a large pink X over her left eye. White tank top and leggings, back to regular size. She gave Charlie a sad smile before passing out.
 Restoration (Charlie)
Vaggie woke up in a comfortable bed in the Happy Hotel. She opened her eyes and saw Charlie standing nearby. Her back and hands were bandaged up, her hair spread apart like resting moth wings.
“Charlie?” she grumbled.
“Yes, I’m here,” said Charlie sounding relieved.
“Thank you for saving me like that,” Vaggie said. “But…why would you do that? I’m your enemy.”
“Not any more. You’re my new friend,” Charlie mentioned. “I don’t want anyone to suffer, not even one of the Exterminators.”
Vaggie sighed, feeling her back. It felt naked and vulnerable without her wings.
“Well, I’m not anymore.” She glanced at her spear, leaning against the wall. “But at least I still have my spear. I think they let me keep it in the hopes I would repent and kill more demons. Which won’t happen,” she added. “But make no mistake. I will strike anyone down who lays a harmful hand on you. You’re too good for this world. Me though…I’ll never be redeemed.”
Charlie smiled and placed a small kiss on Vaggie’s head. She picked up a discarded pink bow and put it on Vaggie’s head of white hair. “You can redeem yourself,” Charlie said. “By helping others redeem themselves. Help me with this hotel. This is your new destiny. Our new destiny. We can live a new afterlife together, and we can get through whatever comes at us.”
Vaggie believed her words with all her soul. Then she glanced down, sadly.
“What is it?” Charlie asked.
“I didn’t get to see my family in Heaven.”
“I’m sorry,” said Charlie. “You must miss them. You were human once, right?”
Vaggie nodded.
“I was born here in Hell, but I can understand how you must feel. I promise we can make things right for both worlds. I’ve seen for myself that humanity can exist even in the blackest hearts.”
Vaggie sighed. “Not sure if I can agree with that part, but let’s see how it goes. You’ll need me to keep you grounded.”
Charlie rolled her eyes. “Don’t remind me, I’m still grounded by my parents. I broke up with this guy and challenged my parents’ opinions.”
“Do you feel guilty about it?” Vaggie asked.
“Sometimes I do,” Charlie admitted.
Then she squeezed Vaggie’s hand affectionately. Vaggie squeezed back. “But for now, I wouldn’t have this moment any other way.”
Vaggie laughed. “What do you see in the future, crazy girl?”
Charlie just smiled. “Rainbows inside every demon.”
