Vilhemina Steel-Veins is my dragonborn and she is added to my small collection of UwU princess cute girl ocs but is the only one who surrounds herself with people scarier than her. She’s in with the Dark Brotherhood, to the Theives Guikd, Companions , and even the Vampires. Like ,, damn baby. Mary Sue? Idk her. Nah but she’s actually much deeper than that but she is a cute girl and knows it.

okok for the oc thing: her name is vilhelmina and she was an angel but she got in trouble so they sent her to live a human life on earth but she was doing well so when she was 16 they gave her some of her powers back. shes silly and whimsical and very nice to everyone, she likes books and works in a bookstore. shes also a superhero and has healing powers. shes best friends with a sea goddess who eats people and theyre dating the same guy. hes a crime lord but its okay because hes normal about it. hes kind of a loser (hes cis) but his cringe fail personality and massive pecs have captivated the two supernatural beings. also vilhelmina collects rubber ducks

My Favorite Land

I always had a soft spot for Oneta, the Cradle of Antiquity. Ironically I created it as the capital marked by creepy silence. The people were overly formal, and their cultural norms encouraged an emotionally cold environment.

But... Oneta had much to teach me.

Slowly but surely, I realized I was wrong about Onetians. They didn’t change, but my views on them sure did.

“Creepy silence” became the silence of respectful listening. “Overly formal” grew to represent their clean, elegant style, showing they cared about presentation and how it might affect others around them.

And the “emotionally cold environment” was never there at all. Onetians are just as compassionate and loving as anyone else. Their culture might forbid them from expressing emotions openly, but there are other ways to communicate how they feel. Music, poetry, prose, small everyday gestures...

I fell in love with Oneta, but most of all, I fell in love with its people.

Seulame sighed, running her fingers through the morning waters of the creek.

“What’s up?” Leo asked, crouching down beside her.

“I don’t know. I guess…I kind of feel like I am water and the universe is the earth. All I can do is follow its path and let it push me around. I have no control over anything.”

Leo let out a breath, moving to cross his legs as he turned to Seulame. “Yeah, but as time goes on, the water starts to erode the earth, molding it to its own will. We all make a difference in the universe, even if it’s slow-coming and we don’t really see it.”

Genre: urban fantasy, contemporary fantasy, low fantasy, new adult 

Synopsis: Leo and Seulame don’t know each other, but someone has been watching them. After escaping from underneath a subway station together, the two come find themselves a target for a benevolent unknown entity that wants to give them everything they ever dreamed of.  Leo wants nothing more than to escape the humdrum of his life, but Seulame is wary. When Seulame loses her job, however, the two find themselves following a map with the key to their happiness. 

This story takes place in four parts: the city (Lachryphage), the road (Psychidae), the forest (Diphyllia grayi), and the sea (Anima mundi) and follows the adventures of Leo (disaster bi, sun child) and Seulame (general disaster, moon child) as they both work to overcome their childhood traumas that have made it difficult for them to navigate as adults. Basically, my children deserve to experience the childhoods that were robbed from them by visitations from all the local cryptids. 

Trigger Warnings: depression, anxiety, panic attacks, suicidal thoughts, child abuse, homophobia, racism (first four are heavy themes throughout, while the other three are just implied or slightly referenced)

Disclaimer: this story is not about the two overcoming their mental illnesses through love and nature!!! Although there is some recovery from having someone who understands them and having a chance to escape their stressors and triggers, the two still have recovery that needs to be made in the form of therapists/medication by the end of the story! I am a big believer in seeking professional help when you are struggling and encourage anyone who feels like my characters to seek these out!

     “Marisol, she ruled the school, so to speak.” Aliya nods again. There’s still no question. “Would you say you’ve filled that role?”

     Aliya pulls her finger away from the edge of her boots, forcing herself to clasp them together above the table. “Frankly, yes, but no. Marisol, excuse my language, was the head bitch in charge, that’s an undisputed fact.” She pauses, mulling the words over in her mind. “I was, for, like, two days this summer. Then I realized that I’m not interested enough in most people or self-obsessed enough with myself to wear that crown. I also don’t have nearly enough free time to keep track of anyone. I’m trying to get into Columbia, all that micromanaging’s not happening.”

     Her lips twitch up. “I mean, I’m sure you could find people that would say I’m head bitch, but I’m not in charge of anyone. I abdicated the title.”

★ writeblr introduction (@vilhemina) ★ -   hello! my name is harper but you can call me mina or auri. i’ve been thinking about joining the writeblr community for some time, so given the amount of free time I have now to spend at home, i thought why not! -  i’m dutch-indo and currently living in australia with the rest of my family (and five cats). being a writer, i love reading (obviously), but i also have interest in drawing, history, witchcraft, psychology, gardening and a bucketful of other things! - i’ve been writing for three or so years now so i’m still a bit of a newbie, but i’d like to think i’ve improved a lot in that time :’) my writing style is a little all over the place but i love fantasy specifically. i used to be a panster when i first started but now i find it hard to write anything coherent without an outline (if i don’t have one my brain just starts trailing off and waltzing around on it’s own). i love exploring fairy tales and myths, and characters are without a doubt my favourite things to write (although world-building is a close second).

Zephyr and Nuffink Headcanons, Part 1

cuz I’m one big mess of haddock family feelz and I’m obsessed with those beans

• Zephyr’s first word was ‘dada’. Hiccup wasn’t around when she said it because she was fussy with Astrid and wanted her daddy

• Astrid had her suspicions that she’d be a daddy’s girl

• Nuffink’s birth took a rough turn on Astrid. But since she spent more time with her little boy because of his health conditions, he became more of a mama’s boy

• His first word was ‘astwid’ because he and Zephyr went everywhere with their parents and he would always hear people call her Astrid more than momma

• Hiccup and Astrid are so amused by it that they have to start teaching him that she’s ‘momma’

• Every Snoggletog the kids barge into their parents room (very early) and start jumping on their bed to wake them up

• Astrid taught Nuffink how to make yaknog one year, and Hiccup comes home to find them a mess in the kitchen and Zephyr hiding upstairs so she wouldn’t have to taste it

• Surprisingly, Nuffink can cook and nobody knows where he got that skill

• Zephyr’s full name is Zephyr Vilhemina Haddock

• Nuffink’s full name is Nuffink Finn Haddock

• Zephyr always sneaks into her dad’s ‘office’ where he always is working on maps, and peace treaties with other tribes. She always bounces over and insists on sitting in his lap to watch him work

• He eventually teaches her how to draw. Whenever he had free time he’d take her to a nearby cliff and they’d sit in the grass and he’d show her how to draw dragons

• The twins are obsessed with Nuffink (mostly because his name and he’s pretty adventurous) so they get him a slingshot for his 4th bday.

• Astrid is furious when he starts to become a little destructive with it, and banned the twins from seeing him for awhile (that doesn’t stop them of course)

• Astrid teaches Zephyr how to braid and a lot of the braids in Nuffink’s hair are from her

• Zephyr and Nuffink are one of the closest pair of siblings you can find on New Berk. Obviously they have their little quarrels, but they are each other’s number one supporters

• Hiccup will occasionally take both of his kids to the cliff where all the dragons were seen last and tell them stories about the hidden world. He’d hold nuffink in his arms, and Zephyr would hold his hand.

• Nuffink is the child who has the nightmares. Hiccup comforts him by holding him close and telling him stories about Stoick

• When Zephyr is being a kid and falls and scrapes her knee, she will hysterically cry. She hates blood and injuries. Astrid will calm her down and tend to her wound, and then Hiccup will give her some snuggles and comforting

• Valka spoils Zephyr and Nuffink so much. She’s Hiccup and Astrid’s #1 choice for watching the kids when schedules just get too busy

• In counsel meetings Zephyr and Nuffink always come along and play in the corner of the great hall. When they get too fussy sometimes, Astrid will have to leave with Nuffink on her hip, and Zephyr close at her side

• Zephyr is the curious kid. Nuffink is curious as well, but he’s more of the adventurous and risk-taking kid

• Nuffink can be so wild at times that Hiccup and Astrid have to at times restrict him from stuff

• Whenever there are big feast and festivals in the great hall, the Haddock family is always last to leave. They carry an exhausted Zephyr and Nuffink home, and they peacefully snuggle up against their parents when the carry them home

• Hiccup will usually carry Zephyr since she’s bigger, but sometimes she insists on walking (but dozes off halfway home and Hiccup will have to carry her)

• Nuffink curls up against Astrid

• Nuffink loves piggy back rides. Especially when Hiccup gives him one, and pretends to fly like a dragon throughout the house with him on his back and Zephyr always begs for the next turn

• You mess with the Haddock kids, you mess with Astrid. One bad thing said about her children and she will make your life miserable

• Nuffink has a Toothless stuffed dragon, and Zephyr has a Stormfly one. But after they meet the dragons for the first time, they beg for little NightLight stuffed dragons as well

• Hiccup always talks about Toothless and Stormfly. The kids love his stories so much and beg their parents to take them to see the dragons.

• Hiccup and Astrid finally clear up a time to go and find the Hidden World, and leave Snotlout (and Valka to watch over him) in charge. And Gobber takes some reigns as well.

• They teach their kids how to sail, and on the way Hiccup’s excitement gets the best of him and he starts to retell his stories of Toothless all over again
