Artwork inspired by The Smile's A Light for Attracting Attention cover art by Thom Yorke and Stanley Donwood
My OC William again! He's literally Thom Yorke. I'm still thinking if Thom Yorke exists in his universe or William is the only one

An American hero, banned from the history books in the American South.
Mary Elaine LeBey: 60th Anniversary - April 23rd, 1963 - William Moore, a Baltimore postal worker, on a one-man Civil Rights demonstration where he set out to walk from Chattanooga, Tenn., to Jackson, Miss., to hand deliver a letter to the governor of Mississippi asking him to reverse his stance on segregation, was murdered with two shots to the head by KKK members... This photo showing his homemade sandwich-style sign, was taken just prior to his murder…
And, given this murder happened in Attalla, Alabama, it went “unsolved"... Just another martyr not taught about in American history classes…

John Lee Hooker
Growing up, the Hooker children were homeschooled. They were only allowed to listen to religious songs; the spirituals sung in church were their earliest exposure to music. In 1921, Johns parents separated and the next year his mother married William Moore, a blues singer, who provided John Lee with an introduction to the guitar (and whom he would later credit for his distinctive playing style) Another influence was Tony Hollins, who dated John's sister Alice. He helped teach Hooker to play, and gave him his first guitar.
At the age of 14, John ran away from home, reportedly never seeing his mother or stepfather again. In the mid-1930s, he lived in Memphis, Tennessee, where he performed on Beale Street, at the New Daisy Theatre and occasionally at house parties.
John worked in factories in various cities during World War II, eventually getting a job with the Ford Motor Company in Detroit in 1943. He frequented the blues clubs and bars on Hastings Street, the heart of the black entertainment district, on Detroit's east side. In a city noted for its pianists, guitar players were scarce. Hooker's popularity grew quickly as he performed in Detroit clubs, and, seeking an instrument louder than his acoustic guitar, he bought his first electric guitar.
This son of a sharecropper rose to prominence performing an electric guitar-style adaptation of Delta blues. He developed his own driving-rhythm boogie style, distinct from the 1930s–1940s piano-derived boogie-woogie. He was ranked 35 in Rolling Stone's 2015 list of 100 greatest guitarists.
John Lee Hooker was born in Tutwiler, Mississippi. He died on June 21, 2001 in Los Altos, California at the age of 88.

We all know the story that Captain Kidd struck his gunner William Moore with a bucket, resulting in the gunner’s death. But history has painted this as a murder, due to the results of Captain Kidd’s trial and of the famous ballad written about him just before his execution.
“I murdered William Moore,
As I sailed, as I sailed
I murdered William Moore,
As I sailed,
I murdered William Moore,
And laid him in his gore,
Not many leagues from shore,
As I sailed.”
When testimonies/trial records are cross examined against other resources and evidence that explain the events of voyage of the Adventure Galley, it becomes impossible to prove this was intended murder. The death of William Moore was most likely manslaughter - an act of sudden violent passion from the captain in a means to silence potential mutiny. The laws at the time did not protect Kidd fully to use violence on his crew to silence mutiny, due to the limitations of his privateer commission. However, it was widely accepted by most at that time for a ship captain to use any means necessary to stop mutiny and prevent his crew from turning pirate. So the court had to prove that the death of William Moore was murder.
At Captain Kidd’s trial, murder was defined out loud to the jury. Quote, “Law implies malice, when one man without any reasonable cause or provocation, kills another. If there be a sudden falling out, and fighting, and one is killed in heat of Blood, then our law calls it Manslaughter.” The fact that Kidd’s first charge in his trial was for murder appears to be a set up to ensure he received a guilty charge and sentenced to death, in the case that something went wrong and he couldn’t be convicted for piracy. However, Kidd should not have been given a guilty verdict for murder when it cannot be proven that it was intended.
Captain Kidd needs a Royal Pardon for the crimes he did not commit.

Matt works for Bill, Desmond's father. One day he met with him and wanted to talk.
- Matt, what do you know about that boy my son brought to the house? - He's just an ordinary guy, nothing special. - I want you to watch him, Matt. We do not need any problems. Especially now that our little experiment is almost over. - Yes, boss. You can count on me, as always.

#WODtober day 21 - First Bite Tastes Best
Veronica would argue if it tasted the best or if she could even remember what it tasted like - she can only remember insane hunger
But I wanted to draw this long ago anyway. William - Veronica's sire, fed her the mob boss that was holding her hostage (you can read more about it here) as her first meal. And then enjoyed watching her drink the man 🙃
