What really kills me about liberals is they use foster kids and the sex trafficking statistics in their abortion arguments while simultaneously being among the biggest supporters of the sex industry.

I just thought about the Bingqiu postcanon where they have to take care of a de-aged Liu Qingge. Maybe because of a qi deviation ??
Well, the important thing!!! is that Liu Qingge is those cuddly, terribly honest children, completely in love. And with no memories of his present other than remembering being a little boy, is being cared for by Shen Qingqiu, to the one who looks and simply says:
"You're beautiful. I'll marry you."
And Shen Qingqiu laughs heartily because, adorable!!! This Liu Qingge was surely one of those boys who wanted to marry their mothers. Cute.
"I'm already married" says Shen Qingqiu, trying to calm him down a little. Which doesn't work, because Liu Qingge would pout and snuggle further into his arms. "And you already know my husband. He's Luo Binghe. You've eaten his meals and we've combed your hair."
And Liu Qingge, pouting and fully determined, would simply say:
"Then I'll marry him too!!"
And Shen Qingqiu would laugh. A lot.
Their laughter would obviously stop when Liu Qingge returns to normal from his qi deviation, with no exact memories of his new childhood weeks, but completely obsessed with... Marry both of them!? Seriously, Liu-shidi!?

So, after going back to my reincarnations manwha phase and thanks to @la-patrona-magdalena's beautiful reincarnation au work, Don't Look At Me! (sí esto es culpa tuya pendeja) i'm afraid my head just got more ideas for drafts instead of finishing the ones i already have (i swear i haven't forgotten my other works, i write a little of each everyday, i just have the attention span of a fish hshshsh)
Anyway, to no one's surprise, my favourites are the ones about modern day people waking up as a novel's villainess or secondary character, and the ones where those same characters reincarnate in the past after dying. And so, to avoid that fate, they decide to take different decisions and sometimes atone for their mistakes against other characters, unknowingly changing the whole plot towards them.
Well...
Yandere! Batfam au where the former "villainesses" are Mrs Wayne, Batsis and Little Flower, Mrs Wayne's youngest daughter with another man. Stupid names, I know, but I can't exactly give them proper names yet. The plot about them is the same as my current au (because i love my ocs/reader-inserts too much and i always picture them when i imagine scenarios lol), except with a slight twist.
Mrs Wayne becomes known for being a snob, cruel woman who enjoys having power and uses it for her and her kids' benefit even at the expense of others. She has no qualms in enacting said power to humiliate others when she sees fit and even just to feed her ego. She's dangerous, twisted and too confident in her high-standing to realise her weaknesses. Her only redeeming quality in everyone's eyes is that she genuinely loves her daughters and has a good relationship with them.
Batsis, or the Wayne Heiress, is every inch of her mother's daughter. She acts like this stereotypical rich girl with everything handled to her in silver platter simply for being rich and pretty. She's manipulative and gets a kick out of treating people like pawns in her own secret games. A great actress who weaponises her looks and strong resemblance to Martha Wayne to twist the narrative in her favour and get away with anything she does. Her arrogance becomes her kryptonite.
And last, the Little Flower. Or just Flower. The youngest but not less dangerous. A spoiled and vain little brat used to being coddled and protected by both her mother and sister, growing up surrounded by luxury and a set of privileges that only belong to her through a stolen family name, which it's not actually hers. She charms grown ups with her innocent aura and cute smiles, but she hates when things don't go her way. And if determined, she can be as lethal as her mother. Her age is her allibi to avoid guilt for her acts. Until it doesn't work anymore.
Then surprise, the "protagonist" appears. It doesn't matter her name, for the fate is always the same. The Batfam become fond of her, obsessively so, and the villainesses, fearing their positions will be threatened, do everything in their power to get rid of the protagonist. Unfortunately, becaose of manwha logic, the girl survives everything and miraculously manages to get out by showing off how good and pure and so different she is from those three, slowly inserting herself in the narrative while they get pushed out away. Eventually, of course, the three of them meet their end. Mrs Wayne is murdered in a petty revenge plot, Batsis falls into a deadly trap because of her hubris and Little Flower dies in an accident. Their story seems over...until they come back, waking up in the past before shit went down.
Except it's not really them. The three new "villainesses" come from an alternative universe where they, well, they weren't great people either but things were definitely better than this one. Their memories are mixed with those of the real villainesses, and now it's up to them to prevent their horrible deaths and find a way to leave this forsaken family before the protagonist appears.
They do their damn best to avoid that fate, doing everything differently while also adapting to their new life and accidentally changing things. They're so focused on surviving that they don't realise their behaviour is drawing attention...too much attention. And the plot is going to change drastically as their family begins to notice them more. Will it be a good or bad change? The girls don't want to know.
But one thing they're sure of: This batfamily isn't the one they're used to...and they might not let them go so easily.

I had a shockingly in-character dream where I was showing Janeys photos of like, sexy men's halloween costumes + thigh high stockings and also various Breaking Bad characters under the vague premise of 'this is what it's like in The Future'. And he kept insulting our 'menswear' and then would get visibly shaken whenever a BRBA character came up.
It was like

i had a dream i was on a blog looking at rlly cute fanart of an au but then i woke up wtffff it was kind of like a reverse robins au i guess but only the ages really changed where jason was the oldest and dick tim and damian seemed sort of all closer in age. it was like jason living on his own but then having to take care of these 3 kids that wont leave him be... he got adopted for his weird stray dog swag. there were more characters but i only saw them listed in a blog post like more kids that were ocs with a similar dynamic with jason like the batkids but i cant remember their names :[ BUT THEY HAD A PET DOG I REMEMBER HER i was in the middle of reading a drabble w dick and jason ft the dog when i thought "if this is a dream im gonna be so sad" and then i woke up 😔
the fanart was jason reading and dick tim and damian leaning on him trying to read with him dick was standing behind him and tim and damian were sitting on either side of him it was so cute but in a style i cannot replicate </3 </3 </3 I MISS IT SO MUCH

i had a dream last night where there was some weird timeline stuff going on, and the losers could see like Richie and another person running around in the past. so Richie is being chased and kid Richie is about to come to the edge of this hill and fall, adult Richie runs out to save him and kid Richie breaks his fall on top of him. this makes their timelines merge, so kid richie is in the future now and the thing/person that was chasing him is gone. kid Richie hears the losers calling adult Richie his name and is super confused about whats happened and ben (or bill idk fs) just like looks at him and is like "kid, your day is about to get a lot weirder" and bev is trying to wake up unconscious adult Richie. He wakes up and that's where i woke up

just watched the barbie movie everyone was discoursing about last year and I can't help but feel like a lot of the problems in its execution could have been avoided if the kid character's arc had been about learning to embrace girly stuff as an act of rebellion against the adultification of teen girls while barbie went full butch transmasc
#deerchatter#i know why they didn't do that obvs the writers haven't a fucking clue what a feminism is and the bosses prefer it that way#but it's fun to think about what a good version of the premise could have looked like. there were interesting pieces on the board#the kid character could have been interesting if her arc had been about rejecting barbie bc of increasing awareness of the association#between femininity and weakness. but in wanting to gain respect she started acting and dressing like a young woman because she's at that age#where girls begin to be rewarded for being a more subdued and quote-unquote natural kind of feminine.#she could have become friends with barbie as a symbolic way to heal her inner child#meanwhile barbie takes the you-can-be-anything message to its logical extreme and decides what she wants to be is the one thing mattel will#never let her be: gender non-conforming#these 2 character arcs and where they intersect could have told the same story much better i think#emphasis on personal choice/growing up/social rebellion/embracing what will really make you happy#while also covering multiple ways to handle gendered expectations. pick out the parts you like or throw the whole gender out. both r good!#anyway i have to admit this movie was disappointing. i knew it wasn't gonna be woke but i thought it would still be a bit more fun ....#was hoping for a guilty pleasure kind of experience but even setting aside that hard thematic fumble it's underwhelming :(

wait the napping hc is so cuteeeee
((do u think anaxa ever finds them sleeping and gets annoyed? or just makes the blankest face ever and leaves))
hm… i don’t think he gets annoyed. probably a little exasperated, yes, and he’s not going to be lovely and gentle telling them to wake up if he needs them to move, but most of the time he’ll just let them chill. maybe he’ll make sure they’re in a relatively comfortable position or not in danger of being drawn on by students with marker pens while asleep
before leaving. i feel like there have also been a couple times where he’s had to lug them back to his lab/ office/ whatever for some reason… (meanwhile reader is asleep the whole time while being half-dragged across the floor)

Hot take: the Mimic fundamentally sucks as a main antagonist because it fundamentally isn't a character.
Like, comparing William Afton and the Mimic:
Motivation: while we're never directly told Afton's motive, it's made clear he has one and even hinted at in the books. For the Mimic, its motivation is simple, and also nonexistent at the same time. Why does it murder? Because it was shown violence, and it mimics. No other real reason (and I read Mimic, that doesn't give it a reason either)
Violence: While Afton's violence isn't quite calculated, it sure isn't indiscriminate mass murder. He seems to get something out of every murder, it's just the victim who's seemingly random. The Mimic just kills people because it was shown how to kill and it mimics.
(I'll do another comparison after SOTM comes out, but I'd like to compare behavior in their headline games and the Mimic doesn't have one yet.)
But my point is, the Mimic sucks because it's not a character, not really. It's just another robot trying to kill people in a franchise full of robots trying to kill people, and nothing about it really sets it apart. I mean, it's not even unique in its vocal mimicry abilities, we had that in Sister Location!
THAT'S WHAT I'VE BEEN SAYING

people who have what i might call a "quantitative political science" approach to politics seem to struggle to understand how american labor unions engage in politics. they don't know how to interpret it. attempting to analyze shawn fain's statements here with the usual tools doesn't work, because unions are not political parties or nonprofits.
consider that only a few months ago, fain was making speeches at rallies for harris. organized labor as a whole knows that republicans are an anti-union party, point blank. he knows which party delivers the goods, because that party supported the UAW throughout the sit-down strike and pulled up on picket lines in support and put pro-union people in charge at the NLRB. why would he say this now to the michigan democratic party🤨
well you have to put on your context hat.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
this is from his speech at the michigan democratic national convention. you know, michigan.
Tumblr media
shawn fain is a reform president. UAW members elect the union's president, so these initiatives need buy-in from the membership. because a union represents workers on the basis of their jobs and workplaces--and as a result, ideological inclinations tend to vary. i'm going to go out on a limb in say the angle he's taking is denigrating the party currently in power federally, i.e. the "get rid of OSHA" party. it's this kind of thing
Tumblr media Tumblr media
by staking out a position as an independent, skeptical political force, the union is communicating to its members that it is representing their interests in politics as it does in the workplace, and doing so effectively. members do not like the feeling that they're paying into the union's political action fund only for the leaders to endorse one party forever in exchange for nothing. members want to see their union play hardball on their behalf. (this is also true when it comes to handling grievances or bargaining contracts)
americans are suspicious of politicians in general, so this approach helps convey to the union's members that where politicians fail, their union can be relied upon to represent their political interests. a union's endorsements can only mobilize members if they feel that this is the case. also, continuing to apply pressure after a presidential election helps legitimize the union having a political action program, because members have to choose to pay into the union's political action fund.
again, the UAW's members are not uniformly partisan, but they share economic concerns/interests. he's telling the MI democratic party that it needs/ought to pursue a more aggressive agenda, and that the UAW is willing to be its partner in developing and implementing that agenda if the partnership gives the union real (rather than just nominal) influence over the agenda. implicitly, he also seems to be saying that the UAW's members can be convinced to cross party lines if the party delivers. because the republicans can't and won't do so, he is pointing out that while the state went to trump in 2024, the administration's failures are an opening for democrats to deliver.
