Emotional Motion Sickness {Angus Tully x Reader}
Tumblr media
Summary: When it's only you, your father, Mary, and Angus left behind at Barton for Christmas, you and the boy (who you were an asshole to, but in all fairness, he was one to you too) decide to get to know each other; whilst sneaking around the school.
Part 3 of ?? (Part 1 , Part 2)
Warnings: Teddy Kountze (but not for long), swearing, underage drinking, mentions of past harassment, mention of pornography, and extremely long monologues that I think would be great audition material because I'm delusional :) .
Come get y'all juice (this shit was so much longer than I expected). This may be part 3 in the series, but this is part 1 of songs that are Agnus Tully/Reader coded. And also part 2 of you guys not being able to escape being an awkward teenager just because this is fanfiction. Enjoy!
Word Count: 7.1k

You didn’t talk to anyone the day after you told Angus Tully he didn’t have any friends (well…of course you talked to your father and Mary, but the boys? No; not even the freshmen).
It was warranted; you punched Teddy in the face, you ignored Jason, and Ye-Joon and Alex were probably afraid of you at that point. Angus had the biggest excuse of them all of course, and while you actually felt bad (to your own surprise), you couldn’t bring yourself to actually approach and apologize at the time. Call it pride, call it cowardice, but you suddenly felt so ashamed you couldn’t even speak to him.
So, save for the talks you had with Mary in preparing meals, the nighttime check-ins with your father, you kept your nose stuck in a book. You ignored Teddy’s glare (while also checking over your shoulder every time you passed by him), only gave slight nods to the younger boys, and Jason didn’t even bother talking to you about what he said the day before. Angus, apparently despite not talking to each other, had perhaps the most civilized of silent discussions with you. You would only make eye contact with each other…but somehow, just somehow, there was a bit of understanding between the two of you.
You also had given him your spare toothpaste along with his payment of chocolates and cigarettes for waking you up because you noticed that he was running low. He gave you this…look. Not one of disgust, but he was confused beyond belief, and you swore he was in his own little world as you talked about your reasoning and all he did was stare at you.
Weirdo.
The day after that, making it the sixth day of being stuck at the school, you were sitting on a stool in the kitchen, reading to Mary as she prepped for lunch. “‘Reader, I married him. A quiet wedding we had: he and I, the parson and clerk, were alone present. When we got back from church, I went into the kitchen of the manor-house, where Mary was cooking the dinner and John cleaning the knives, and I said— ‘Mary, have you ever been in love before?’”
You paused, looking up from your book and watching as the Mary in front of you was doing what the Mary in the book was doing; cleaning the knives. She glanced back at you upon your quietness, giving you the eye.
“And? What did she say?”
“I don’t know,” you shrugged. “I’m waiting for her to answer.”
Scoffing, she turned away. “You’re not that funny you know.”
“Yet you’re hiding your smile.”
“Am not.”
“Well have you?”
“Have what?”
“Been in love?”
She huffed. “I’m too sober for that conversation.”
“There’s some wine in the chapel-.”
Mary turned, pointing a knife at you. “-Don’t you dare.”
“What?! It’s not consecrated!”
“Still, you’re a baby, you can’t drink that stuff.”
“I’m going to technically graduate in a few months.”
“Doesn’t matter.”
Sighing overdramatically, you leaned against the wall. “Can you just give me a yes or no?”
She turned and headed back to the counter she was at, looking at you. “Yes, I’ve been in love before.”
“When you were young?”
“Am I not young now?”
“You know what I mean.”
“Yes.” She began to chop vegetables.
“Was it scary?”
“Kind of.”
“Why?”
“I don’t know.” She shrugged. “It happened later for me than most of my friends, so that’s probably why.”
Before you could ask another complex question, a humming noise caught your ear. You thought you were going insane at first until it had also apparently got Mary’s. After taking one glance at each other, you both followed the sound, and it led you to the nearest window.
Outside, in the sky, a yellow helicopter flew above you.
The next thing you knew, as you and Mary were rushing to the library to ask your father ‘What in God’s name is going on?’, you ran into everyone in the middle of the main hall, including a man you had never seen before.
Apparently, Jason’s father cracked and decided to come pick his son up for Christmas at the ski lodge. He also offered to take the rest of The Boys Left Behind. So, there you were after Mary left, deciding to stand outside with the rest of them as Jason, his dad, and your father sat in the administrative office, calling up everyone and their mother (quite literally).
“So, Hunham,” Teddy asked, his voice so grating you would rather claw your brain out with a fork than have to listen to him. “what’re you gonna do when all of us go skiing? Take some pictures?”
You shook your head, not letting it get under your skin. “No, I’ll probably spend time with Elise.”
“Elise?” The boys questioned.
“Yeah, we met in middle school.”
“Is she anything like you or is she pretty?” Teddy prodded.
Angus rolled his eyes. “I don’t think she’d really want to hang around a cesspool like you.”
Holy shit…he was actually standing up for you? Even after you told him he didn’t have any friends? Perhaps men hadn’t failed you completely (your most famous last words of this entire winter break…maybe not for the most part, but still).
You snorted, crossing your arms while still holding Jane Eyre. “It’ll be a cold day in hell before I let you meet her, Kountze.”
Before he could even attempt a comeback, your father came out through the door, and turned to the boys. “Well, good news gentlemen. I was able to reach Dr. Woodrup and your parents;” He glanced at Angus for a second. “Most of them, anyway. I recommend all of you go pack, have a merry Christmas.”
The rest of the boys, including Jason who exited with his dad, raced past one another; all except Angus. You could see how he tried to hide his growing disappointment and went to the first stage of grief; denial.
“Could you try them again?” He asked your father.
Paul Hunham took a deep breath. “Alright.” He turned to Jason’s father, both men uttering a ‘Merry Christmas’, before yours went back into the office. Leaving you outside with Angus.
He leaned against the wall, folding his arms. Well…this was your chance to try and be nice to him again.
“If they don’t pick up, just tell him to keep calling.” You suggested.
Angus looked at you, shrugging. “Yeah, that was my plan already.”
“I always annoy him until I get what I want. Usually works for me.”
“So why aren’t you in Copenhagen?”
“…You.” There was a silence between the both of you, and to your surprise, you had to bite your tongue not because of anger, but to stop yourself from laughing. You gave him a nod. “I hope you get to go skiing; even if Kountze will be there.”
Not giving him time to respond, you walked right past him to your room in the infirmary. In your mind, best case scenario, everyone would go skiing and you and your dad would somehow make it to Copenhagen; middle case scenario, everyone would go skiing but you’d be left in Barton with Mary and your dad; worst case scenario, you were stuck with Angus…at Barton, over Christmas break.
While he was the one that irked you the least out of the boys your age, you weren’t really in the mood to be with him until the middle of January.
It was as you were sitting on the edge of your bed, reading the rest of Jane Eyre, when someone knocked on your door. Glancing up, you saw Alex. Smiling, you asked.
“You ready to go?”
He nodded, then walked into the room, holding out your mittens. “Sorry I forgot to give them back.”
You took them, standing and smiling. “No, you’re alright. If I’m honest, I would’ve let you keep them while you were here.”
“Are you and Angus going to be okay?”
Giving him a look, you chuckled. “Well, if there’s a god, then hopefully that means he’ll go with you guys.”
At that moment, both of your eyes were drawn to the doorway when you heard heavy footsteps and watched as Angus Tully stormed past.
“Okay, guess there isn’t.” You grumbled, then went back to sweet. “Don’t worry though, we’ll be civil with each other.”
“I think you should be friends.”
Well…that was unexpected. Still, you snickered. “Alex, are you saying neither of us have friends already? And I thought you were nice.”
“No just,” he sighed. “I heard Ye-Joon crying a few nights go, Angus told him friends are overrated, and Ye-Joon told me that Angus had been kicked out of a lot of schools…I don’t know.”
You nodded, completely understanding. “I’ll be nicer to him; I promise you that. Now go have a great Christmas.”
He grinned from ear to ear, unexpectedly hugging you. After freezing for just a moment, you hugged him back before pulling away. You bid each other goodbye, and he went running back to his room to pack. A few seconds later, it was Jason who was in your room.
“Hey.” He greeted.
“Hello.”
He stood there stiffly, almost as if he was nervous for the first time in his life. “Um…I just wanted to say sorry.”
This intrigued you. “Oh?”
“Yeah.” Jason fiddled with the bag in his hand. “I didn’t mean to upset you; Teddy was an asshole, end of story.”
You gave him a smile. “Thank you.”
The silence between you was different; not one of comfort, but not exactly discomforting either. Though, it was becoming that the more time dragged on.
“You know,” he grinned, and you couldn’t tell if it was genuine or a joke. “if we hurry, I could probably sneak you on?”
You merely kept your face the same; a pitiful, upturned mouth. “Merry Christmas, Jason.”
He nodded, taking the hint, wishing you a ‘Merry Christmas’ back, and left. Not exactly the best apology to receive, but you were more than happy you got one. Also happy that he didn’t call you names for refusing his advances; bare minimum, but welcome to the early 1970s.
Teddy followed soon after him, and he stopped in your doorway, turning his head to you. He only managed to take a breath to speak before you beat him to it.
“I hope you fall off the fucking ski lift, snap your fucking neck, and never recover.”
He only smiled. “I hope your business goes well. Tell Daniel I said ‘hi’.”
And that was the last time you saw him that Christmas break. He did indeed fall off a ski lift and snap his neck.
He didn’t actually, but you wished he did. When he walked past you, Ye-Joon was next, and you both just uttered a quick ‘Merry Christmas’, before he left. Knowing that Tully was still in the room, you decided it was best to avoid him, and went back to your father.
“No luck?” You asked him.
He shook his head. “No luck.”
Sighing, you glanced down at the floor. Great…it was official; you were still stuck with at least one boy who would for sure not have his brain developed until he was thirty at the youngest (or so you thought).
“Do you want to see the helicopter take off?” Your father asked.
You nodded, not knowing what else to do. So, that was how you found yourself, your father, and Angus (who surprisingly crawled out of the room to also watch it take off), in the snowy quad, watching as the ‘Boys Left Behind’ became the ‘Boys Who Are Now in a Damn Helicopter Going Skiing’. You thought the last title had a better sound to it.
Your father sighs from beside you, turning to look at you in the middle, and Angus to your right. “Well, let’s make the best of it.”
He went in soon after that, leaving you and Angus alone together. You wanted to say something, you probably should’ve. Yet, in all honesty, you had nothing to say, and you knew that if you forced yourself to come up with something, it would’ve been bad.
So that’s why you didn’t even look at him when you left. That’s why you avoided him for the rest of the day, luckily being able to spend most of it with Elise and doing nothing but making Christmas cookies with her and miss Crane (even though she’d already made more than enough to give to the teachers. They were…fine when your dad gave you one), and muting channels from the TV and voicing over them.
You and Elise had done that since you were kids…which actually wasn’t that long ago when you were still doing it.
When you got back, you helped Mary with dinner, than all ate in silence; save for your father trying to make conversation about your day since you were truly the only one out of all of you to have an interesting day.
That’s when the four of you found yourself in the teacher’s lounge; you reading Little Women, your father and Mary watching The Newlywed Game, and Angus reading Popular Mechanics in a chair far away from you.
As you were disappearing into your second read of the book, it was Mary who brought you out of it.
“Your daughter asked me an invasive question today.”
You looked up in alarm at the accusation. Paul Hunham sighed, taking his pipe out of his mouth. “And what, pray tell, was it this time?”
“Asked if I’d ever been in love.”
Your father said your name warningly. Of course, you defended with. “We were reading Jane Eyre! If I was reading this,” you held up your book. “I would’ve asked if she ever rejected a man before. I already know the answer, but still.”
“You know the answer?” Mary laughed.
“You probably had to beat them off of you back in the day, you were so pretty.”
“Were?”
“Fine wine, miss Lamb.” You hung upside down, tossing your feet over the back of the couch. “You age like fine wine.”
“Stop that.” She scoffed lovingly, then asked your father, almost as if it was a joke. “What about you?”
You looked at him. “Oh, I sure hope he’s been in love.”
“Well,” he said your name. “you know, it was purely for economic reasons at first, but then-.” The pillow you threw at him caused him to chuckle before continuing. “Yes, Josephine March, I was greatly enamored by your mother.”
“What was your favorite thing about her?”
“Everything.”
“Oh, come off it.” You rolled your eyes.
“Well then, if you’re going to be like that, then it’s her laugh.”
You sat up. “That’s such a basic fucking-!”
“-Hey!” Both him and Mary started.
In the corner of your eye, you swore you saw Angus smile for just a second. Your father continued. “I’ll tell you why her laugh was my favorite; it’s because she barely did.”
When you thought of it…she really only laughed around you. Were you that funny or did she just love you that much? Either way, you were more than happy about it. Your father continued.
“She announced in front of an entire class that she would more than likely laugh while being stuck in a brazen bull, then listening to my jokes. That was the first thing she said to me, and it’s still one of my favorite memories.”
Mary chimed in. “Not your wedding day?”
You and her shared a knowing look, trying not to burst out in laughter as your father just smoked his pipe, nodding. No time to unpack that.
“But you know, there’s more to falling in love than just with people.” He started soon to clear the air. “Imagine it, like a monk: forgoing sensual pleasures for the achievement of spiritual goals.”
“Spiritual goals, you?” Mary questioned. “What spiritual goals are we talking about? You go to church?”
“Only when required.”
“Exactly.” She mumbled. “Me having to save your daughter’s soul every Sunday since she was a kid.”
You only went because she’d take you and Curtis out to lunch every Sunday.
“When’s the last time you even left campus?” Mary asked him.
He almost looked offended. “I go into town all the time.”
“Oh!”
“For groceries, and errands, and various appointments.”
“Jane Bennett over here can’t drive and she gets out more than you.”
“Okay yes,” he sighed. “I don’t leave campus often. I don’t really feel the need.”
Mary nodded. “Let me ask you something. If you could go anywhere on earth, where would you go?”
“Well, we were supposed to go to Copenhagen…” nearly left your lips, but then your eyes caught Angus again, and looked away soon when his sight met yours.
“Oh,” your father grinned. “Greece, Italy, Egypt, Peru, Carthage, Tunisia now, of course. In college I started a monograph on Carthage. I’d like to finish that someday. A monograph is like a book only shorter.”
“I know what a monograph is.” Mary answered tiredly.
“Why not just write a book?”
That was the first thing you heard Angus say after hours of silence.
Your father shook his head. “I’m not sure I have an entire book in me.”
“You can’t even dream a whole dream, can you?” Mary asked.
If it were any other day, you would’ve laughed. But for some reason (that reason being you staring at Angus Tully), you didn’t. Still, once the two of you made eye-contact, you shot your gaze back to the TV, and then down to your book for the rest of the night.
What a strange person (he probably thought the same as you).
Tumblr media
Your father agreed to let you sleep in the free room of the infirmary on account of the fact Teddy and Jason were gone. He made the joke too that you could “Finally sleep” as if you already hadn’t been sneaking out to get sleep. Still, even though you could no longer hear his snores, you found yourself more awake than ever that night.
When you were a child, you used to go on nightly excursions. Those being where you’d walk down the stairs of your old house and see everything in the dark; a familiar place becoming the unfamiliar and realizing just how taller everything was compared to you.
You cried the first time that you did it, and your mother rushed down to comfort you; your father, of course, slept like a rock. You still went on the little adventures though.
So…why not do it at Barton? Surely you were old enough you wouldn’t cry this time?
Tiptoeing through the halls and into your father’s room after throwing on your boots and jacket, you somehow managed to grab the keys and flashlight without him hearing you. Then you saw the bottle of whiskey by his bed; checks out.
As you were exiting through the hall, you passed by Angus’ room. You stopped in the doorway, contemplating. Would he be more pissed at you for waking him up, or for leaving him out? Well…only one way to find you.
In the same way you did on the first night, you shook him awake. He flinched a little when he saw you but wasn’t completely frazzled. “What?” He groaned, more so out of exhaustion than annoyance.
All you did was hold up the ring of keys to him.
That got him to sit up, and you managed to smile, tilting your head back to the door. It still astounds you to this day just how quickly you both could communicate without having to say a single word. He got on his coat and shoes, and the pair of you were soon off, traversing down the halls. Your first stop was the teacher’s lounge.
“I just want to check on Mary.” You explained.
“Why?”
“Because she checks up on us.”
And he didn’t argue; poor, tall child was just happy to have some freedom for the first time in almost a week. So, you both just quickly peered into the teacher’s lounge, and sure enough, she was sleeping on the couch with the TV on. You both tiptoed out of there and into the darkened hallway.
“Turn on the light.” He whispered to you.
“I’m trying.” You felt around for the switch, and then heard a ‘bump!’ in front of you followed by cursing.
“Shit!” Your heart jumped. “What did you do?!”
“Just turn on the light!”
You did, and you saw him hunched over, cradling his left elbow. You made a face. “You okay?”
“Yeah, just maybe turn the flashlight on before going into a dark place?”
Oh, hell no, you weren’t taking that amount of sass. “Well maybe you should stop being so tall and stupid. Jesus wept, you make the ground shake every time you walk.”
He scoffed, though an etching of a smile played on his lips when he knocked on the wall beside you.
“What’re you doing?” You asked.
“She’s not going to wake up. It’s fine.”
“Still, I don’t wanna risk it.”
“Okay,” he shrugged his shoulders. “then could I have the light? Seeing that you can’t handle it?”
Oh, what a little shit. Rolling your eyes, you handed it to him, to which he immediately turned over his shoulder and started skipping down the hallway, making quite a lot of noise.
“Angus Tully, I swear to God!” You rushed after him.
He led you into the kitchen, but you led him to the freezer and the large tub of vanilla ice cream the cooks only used for ‘Special Occasions’. You grabbed spoons off the counter and ate from the tub for a few good minutes without saying a word to each other.
When you were finished, he asked. “Where else were you thinking of going?”
“I’m not sure.” You then glanced over to one of the ‘Staff Only’ doors. “I got an idea.”
After using the keys to unlock it, the door led down into a dimly lit tunnel. You went down first, the cold hitting your skin and you zipped your jacket up. Looking over your shoulder, you saw Angus still up at the top.
“Well come on, you’re the one with the light.”
That seemed to snap him out of whatever trance he was in, and he walked down the steps.
“How’d you know this was here?”
“That’s for me to know.”
And you just walked ahead of him.
He scoffed. “So, I don’t get to find out?”
“Nope.”
The tunnel was much longer than you initially thought it would be, but when you both got to the first door you’d seen, you were led into the sacristy of the chapel. Instantly, Agnus set down the flashlight and opened up the cabinet, taking out the chalice and jug of wine.
You snorted. “What a faithful altar boy you are.”
“Of course I am.” He responded, pouring the wine into the chalice and taking a huge gulp of it. “Want some?”
You tensed at first but responded quick enough. “Sure.”
He poured the wine into the chalice and took a small sip. It wasn’t as bad as when you first tried it; in fact, it was pretty good. You finished most of it after bringing it to your lips again.
“You’ve never had it before, haven’t you?” He grinned like the little shit he was (still is).
Shaking your head, you handed it back to him. “Just not in a while.”
You both got quickly bored in the sacristy after Angus had another drink of wine and went back through the door into the tunnel.
“Do you think someone died down here?” You questioned.
“If you’re trying to scare me, you’re doing a shitty job at it.” He answered.
“That sounds like something someone who’s terrified of ghosts would say.”
Sooner than you thought you would, and after a solid minute of you two going back and forth about the existence of ghosts, you found another door, which led you up into the auditorium. You’d only been there once for Curtis’ graduation the year prior, and you hadn’t step foot in there since then. Angus immediately went to the piano, sitting down at it and looking out to the sea of seats. You approached him leaning against the grand piano. He brought out a pack of the cigarettes you’d gotten him and a lighter.
“Mind if I have one?” You asked.
He nodded, placing a cigarette between his lips and then handing you one. He lit it for you, and you brought it up to your mouth. Somehow, you hadn’t coughed, and you were proud of yourself; you let your curiosity get the best of you, but it hadn’t killed you yet. Angus pressed a few keys on the piano, and you chuckled.
“You play?” You questioned.
“Not since I was ten. You know how?”
“Nope; all I know is Roman history and how to annoy men, apparently.”
“Can I ask you something?”
“Can I ask you a question after you do?”
“Sure.”
“Go ahead.”
He takes a puff from his cigarette before asking. “Why the book names?”
Chuckling, you shook your head. “It’s just always been a thing my mom did; they all mean different things. Countess Natalya when I’m being overdramatic, Jo March for my dad, Jane Bennett for Mary, Emma Woodhouse when I’m being stubborn, things like that.”
“Should I call you something then?” He teased.
“I’d prefer just my name from you, thank you very much.” You played along back, walking around the piano and plopping yourself down on the wooden floor. He soon sank down to be at your level, finding it awkward to sit above you. “Okay, my question.”
He nodded. “Shoot.”
“Why did you and Teddy get into a fight at the beginning of break?”
Sighing, he rolled his eyes. “Asshole stole my family picture and I knew it but he kept denying it; might’ve said some shitty things to him, but it’s not like they weren’t true.”
“What’d you say?”
“That he was a sociopath, and his family didn’t want him around.”
You almost choked on your cigarette but laughed. “Damn, that’s brutal.”
“Smith had to pull us apart, it was apparently that bad.”
Scoffing, you said. “You and him had to hold Teddy back after I punched him.”
“Asshole.” He muttered.
“Asshole.” You repeated.
Silence passed by the both of you for the hundredth time that day, and that was when you spoke up.
“I’m sorry I’ve been a bit of a jerk these last few days.” He arched his brow, and you just went on. “To be honest, you have been too, but I’ve been a bigger one; especially today. I wanted to say something before but…I didn’t want to be more of a bitch than I already was.”
He shook his head. “You’re not; I was kind of a dick when I first met you.”
“Kind of?”
“Okay, a lot.” He admitted. “It was honestly stupid luck I got that question when you first showed up at Barton, and I got carried away with bragging.”
“Don’t sell yourself short.” You repeated his words from a few days ago. “You’re actually the smartest out of all of them.”
“Really?”
“Not even close to me, but still.” You held out your hand. “Friends of some sort?”
He shook it. “Friends of some sort.”
You both pulled away, and after taking another drag of your cigarette you said. “I actually don’t know jack shit about you.”
“That a fact?”
“Yeah, and since we’re going to be stuck here for a while, I think that should change. How about this?” you scooted closer to him. “We ask each other questions. Simple at first, but more and more, we go a little deeper. How does that sound?”
He huffed. “Sounds like a regular conversation.”
“We get to refuse to answer one question.” You added. “Everything else after is free game. Sound more exciting?”
Angus nodded. “Alright, what’s your favorite color?”
“Pass.”
“Are you serious?”
“Fuck no.” You laughed, giving him your favorite color then asking him. “Favorite book?”
He responded much faster than you thought he would. “Catch-22.”
“Ah, a man of culture. Thank God, I thought I’d have to stop talking to you.”
Angus shook his head, chuckling. “If you could be an animal, what would you be?”
Ah…a bit of a stranger one, but you like that. You thought more on it, then gave him your answer. He nodded.
“Yeah, seems like you’d be one.”
“The fuck’s that supposed to mean?” You answered in a dead pan, and broke character the second you saw his face fall. “Just messing with you. Favorite childhood memory?”
He paused at that but didn’t show any sign of discomfort. Hesitance, yes, but he was taking more time thinking about your (frankly bizarre) question. Then, he answered.
“My dad took me on a fishing trip when I was twelve. Just for the weekend out in the woods with a small cabin. Talked to me about what it meant to be a man, telling me what he was like as a kid…I don’t even like fishing.”
The short story, even though it wasn’t yours, brought a nostalgic smile to your face for a moment. “I tried fishing once; not really my thing either.”
“Mr. Hunham took you fishing?” The look on his face made you laugh.
“Oh god no.” You shook your head. “Curtis did.”
Angus blinked upon the name. “Mary’s kid?”
“You’ve already asked a question.”
“What?”
“I just asked you what your favorite memory was as a kid, you asked me if my dad took me fishing. It’s my question now. Technically, I can ask two in a row because you just asked me what I meant.” It was your turn to have the shit-eating grin.
“I…” He tried not to laugh, unable to believe it. “So, our friendship is basically transactional?”
“Huh?”
“You’re having us say that if one of us asks two questions in a row, even if one isn’t really about getting to know the other-.”
“-It was about getting to know me; you asked if my dad took me fishing.”
“That’s a transactional relationship, not really a conversation.”
“Are you trying to explain to me what a conversation is, Tully?” You furrowed your brow, stomping out your cigarette. “Do you really believe women are that stupid?”
He shrugged. “Maybe, considering how you just asked three questions in a row.”
Never in your life (at least recently) had something thrown you off balance so drastically. You counted on your fingers, jogging your memory, and yes, you indeed answered three questions: freeing him from yours. You both made eye contact, and with the same, unspoken language, you both laughed. It took you a bit longer to recover, to which you then asked.
“Okay, and you can ask me two questions, do you genuinely think women are stupid?”
Angus shook his head, his cigarette on its last leg. “Everyone’s stupid in their own special way.”
“How poetic of you.”
“That’s the nicest thing you’ve said to me.”
“Shut up and ask me a stupid question because you’re so stupid.”
He threw the cigarette on the ground and stomped it out before turning to you. “Craziest thing that happened to you?”
Your face dropped for a moment at the question, before it soon morphed into a nervous smile. “It’s what made my dad start homeschooling me.”
Angus raised his brows. “If it’s not a fun memory than-.”
“-No it’s alright.”
“If anything,” you thought to yourself. “it’ll make me see who you really are.”
You set the scene. “You’ve been in eighth grade, right?”
“I though you said I could ask two questions-?”
“-For fuck’s sake, Tully.”
“Yes,” he grinned. “I’ve been in eighth grade, surprisingly.”
“Well, you probably remember how much we thought we were hot shit at that age, right?” You didn’t give him time to respond. “My friend Elise is Miss Crane’s niece, Miss Crane the secretary.”
“Yeah, I know who she is.”
“Elise only comes to live with her during winter and summer breaks. I met her when we were like twelve, and we were immediately inseparable. Summer of eighth grade going into high school, she takes this theatre summer camp hosted by some kids at Ridgeway.”
Angus scoffed. “That fucking shithole? My roommate had some of his friends over who went there; assholes.”
“Oh, that’s not the half of it.” You rolled your eyes. “So, one of the counsellors, I don’t know I think her name was like…Gloria, or something, really liked her, and invited her to a party she and the other theatre kids were having. She told Elise that she could bring anyone that she wanted. Elise thought that other campers were being invited, so she asked me because…okay shoot me, I liked theater growing up. Now Elise wasn’t going to Ridgeway for high school, but I was, so she thought it’d be great for me to meet the people. That’s what she told my dad and her aunt; that it was a part of the camp. God, we spent hours getting ready, I look at pictures that Miss Crane took of us, and we didn’t even look that good,”
You and Angus paused to relish your chuckling before continuing. “but what mattered was that we were excited. Miss Crane drove us to the house at seven, said she’d pick us up by ten, and then left. The only people there were us, Gloria, and two of the other counselors; one being her boyfriend, Bobby fucking Nolan. So, it was awkward for the first hour because, of course Gloria wasn’t supposed to invite two eighth graders, but it’s fine because she said ‘Elise is cool, so her friend’s probably cool’. I wanted us to call someone to take us home because there was a misunderstanding, hell, the counsellor that wasn’t Gloria’s boyfriend even offered to, but Elise said she wanted to stay. I wasn’t leaving her behind, so I stayed too. It actually got fun after that. It was more than obvious I was uncomfortable, so they asked me to pick a board game for us to play when waiting for other people, and I picked Clue. It went on for a while, and people started showing up, so it was really just me, Bobby fucking Nolan, and another random kid playing with us because the others, including Elise, left. Bobby said that I was purposefully hiding my cards because he assumed some things weren’t adding up. He did this the whole game, and he’d try to be teasing, but he always sounded like he was accusing me of murder. Which, okay, a part of the game but you know what I mean. I got fed up with it, so I told him a bit more aggressively that I wasn’t lying. This asshole reaches over and squeezes me here.”
Scooting closer to Angus where your face was just a foot away from his, you pointed to the base of your neck where your clavicle is. “So I freak out of course, and he just started laughing, saying he found out that’s a ticklish spot for everyone. My stomach started feeling weird, and I…a year before that, my dad told me that if I ever started feeling sick out of nowhere, whether it was because of a person or situation, than I’d leave. Doesn’t matter what, I’d just go. So, I say I have to go to the bathroom, get Elise, she sees that I’m starting to freak out, and we try to find Gloria, her friend, or just anyone who’d want to take us home. Bobby finds us instead, he’s lit, and he won’t let us out of his sight. He was joking at first, and I’m fucking terrified at this point, so Elise has to tell him we’re going home. He’s getting pushy now, and it takes him calling her a ‘bitch’ for people to notice. So, thank God, some of the others pull him away to calm him down because he looked like he’d start swinging, and one of the girls took pity on us and drove us to Elise’s house because we were supposed to have a sleepover. I was crying at this point, so I begged Miss Crane to call Mary, not my dad, she picked me up, I told her everything, she brought me home, told my dad, and the next day I told him everything I told Mary. He said I did the right thing in leaving and was pissed at the school. So, he called them, got most of the kids there in trouble; all except Bobby fucking Nolan. Because Bobby Nolan’s mom was screwing the principal, and technically besides underage drinking and minor harassment, he didn’t do anything wrong in the school’s eyes; so, he just got a few days’ worth of detention, but even then, that was probably wiped from his records…He was a freshman going into sophomore year, so if I went to Ridgeway, I’d be stuck with him for three years…everything else checks out.”
The silence was deafening. Angus had a face you had never seen on him before. “I…shit, that’s fucked up.”
Just like with everything else you did when things became too serious (because it was only then you realized that you just told him something that was somewhat traumatic and not funny), you made it funny.
“Oh fuck, you asked me about the craziest thing that happened to me. Sorry, I forgot to say that I was like a little tipsy throughout all of that.”
“What?!”
No one ever said you landed the punchline all the time. Still, you tried.
“Now I know that sounds bad-.”
“-It is bad. You were like what, fourteen?”
“…Thirteen.”
“Oh my god.” He groaned.
“How old were you when you first drank?”
“Sixteen.”
“That’s like three years.”
“It’s about maturity.”
“Oh,” you snickered. “and you have a lot of that?”
He shrugged. “Yeah, maybe I do."
Rolling your eyes, you said. “Go ahead.”
“What?”
“Ask your other question. No, that one doesn’t count, I’m actually tired of the rules I set up.”
He was still, understandably, thrown off about all that you told him. Still, he went. “How’d you know about the tunnels?”
“Curtis Lamb. We were friends for a while, and he told me he and some other kids would explore them. Mary never found out somehow.”
“Why’d you stop being friends?”
You shrugged. “We didn’t, he just died. Did your mom and dad get a divorce or…?”
You were always a hardball when it came to being blunt.
Angus tensed. “Pass.”
“Okay.”
“Can I ask about the letter?”
Oh…oh…
Well…what a spot you put yourself in…
“Pass.” You said without hesitation. Had he said that to get back at you for asking a stupid question or did he actually want to know?
Still, he respected it. “Your turn.”
And you decided to be slightly less bold, but not back down completely. “Have you been kicked out of school before?”
To your surprise, he wasn’t angry when you asked. A bit smug even. “Oh, who told you?”
“Alex.”
“Figures. Yeah, three.”
“Why?”
“‘Unruly behavior, instigating fights, stealing school property.’” He rolled his eyes. “If I get kicked out of this one, it’s off to military school.”
You nodded. “So maybe don’t then.”
“Seems like a plan.”
“When did your mom marry your stepfather?”
“Just last summer; that’s why they’re taking their honeymoon now. She’d only been with him for six months.”
“Shit.”
“Yeah.” He shook his head. “Just lonely I guess.”
You furrowed your brow. “She had you.”
He didn’t say anything, he stopped looking at you too. Well, new tactic now.
“What you did was nice a few nights ago.” Like Pavlov’s dog, he looked up at you. “Helping Ye-Joon out.”
His eyes drifted. “It was nothing.”
“It was everything to him and it meant something to me. It meant that you’re not a complete asshole you try to be, and I don’t know why you try to be one, but you’re not.” You saw right through him, and you both knew it. Still, to save face a little while longer, you added. “I’m sorry too about saying you didn’t have friends.”
“It’s fine-.”
“-No, it’s not, because I felt like shit as soon as I said it, and it’s a shitty thing to say to anyone.”
He stared at you the same way he did when you gave him toothpaste, and it unnerved you even more. Had anyone ever apologized to him?
“Thanks.” Was his reply, and the two of you stopped asking questions. You both sat in the auditorium for perhaps a small moment’s silence when he said. “I uh…we should probably get back.”
You nodded, getting up. “Yeah, sounds good.”
The two of you tried to make it seem like you’d never been there and made your way back down into the tunnel. The walk seemed much longer than it had previously, the two of you not seeming to have anything to say until Angus went-.
“I threw out the skin mag.”
Well…the actual last thing you thought you would hear from him that night.
You stopped in your tracks. “Huh?”
He didn’t look at you as he confessed. “I stole Kountze’s cigarettes to trade for it and practically waved it in his face the first few days. I know it’s none of my business, but after he read the letter…I just felt bad about it.”
What on God’s green earth were you supposed to say? Apparently, after a few moments of stunned silence, you knew.
“…Thanks? On behalf of all women, I guess?” He nodded, still not looking at you, which only added to your anxiety. “We’re good, right? Still friends of some sort?”
“Yeah.” He finally met your eyes.
You nodded. “Nice.”
And you walked ahead of him as if trying to outrun the light. You both tiptoed through the halls, setting the keys and flashlight back in your father’s room in the infirmary, and went into your own separate rooms.
As you laid down to sleep, the strangeness of the whole evening played in your mind. You had been so vulnerable with him, and he hadn’t thrown it back and spat it in your face; he let you talk about it for so long.
He didn’t blame you for what happened.
You never told anyone about that besides the people involved…
But he didn’t do the same. Yes, your friendship (of some sort) didn’t have to be where each of you dumped a lot of baggage on each other…but you still felt odd doing so.
You felt something in your stomach the more you thought about the whole night; being alone together and exploring the school as if you were both main characters in a novel, telling secrets in the dark…
You didn’t feel sick though; at least, not like when a boy touched you for the first time.

Can you please write some (optional relationship, if not, romanse) headcannons for Geo and/or Hyugo with a weeb MC? They don't have to be strictly into anime, but just really loving Japanese and Japanese culture (bonus if they don't know Japanese).
Chronic Love (Geo + Hyugo x Weeb! MC/Reader)
Enjoy my amazing little weeb, have an awesome day! Solemnly thanks for entrusting me with writing this for you.
Also, uh, a minor sidenote, I am not an anime enjoyer or even remotely close to a weeb; so if I get something wrong/too exaggerated etc. feel free to publicly execute me in the town square. <333
You can read this from any perspective, as in, both in an established relationship setting and a solely platonic one. :]
A/N: From now on, Geo and Hyugo will be referred to as Geode and Hyugeode, if anyone in the Geo religion utters 'Geo', they shall atone. 😊😊😊/hj
- Signed by biggest-geo-oogami-enjoyer
Chronic(ally): to a very great extent; extremely.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tumblr media
Hyugo is honestly surprised when he finds out of your...intense love for Japan and its culture.
He won't be opposed to it, he'd find it a smidge endearing, considering he's Japanese; and you seem to be willing to learn anything about it. He's more than happy to tell you what you wanna know.
Do you take advantage of this? Yes.
Would probably eventually, to your joy, start telling you cultural appropriations and norms, along with a couple generic Japanese words/phrases (you say them whenever possible, feeling the language fall from your lips and off your tongue feels so right, you can't get enough!).
You ask him to tutor you Japanese at some point, to which he politely declines (he's got enough on his plate okay?!), but is willing to converse with you if you ask.
Just don't nag him, he fucking hates being nagged.
You'd probably mispronounce certain words, to which he'd correct you, until you get the hang of it.
Might take you to a Japanese candy store to tell you his personal recommendations (they're great btw).
If you like anime he'll be chill with it, just don't act like the stereotypical weeb and he's fine.
Learning words is one thing, overdramatizing, glorifying and exaggerating Japanese things annoys him.
Fortunately, you're reasonably calm with your devotion for it, and he doesn't mind.
Would get a bit nervous if you decide to actively pursue Japanese, after all, what if you overhear him talking to one of his shadier acquaintances and pick out the context?
Would overtime subtly monitor you, gauge how much you know and how quickly you're progressing.
Overall supportive though, enjoys the fact you like Japan. :]
Tumblr media
Literally doesn't care. At all.
You like Japan? Cool. Good for you.
Much prefers for you to not harass him about Japanese words and phrases, unless he tolerates likes you enough, to which he'll blurt out something along the lines of: "Go fuck yourself".
Will probably teach you insults (he says it's to insult you, but we all know the real reason teehee)
If you're hanging out somewhere and Geo spies Japanese text, he might point it out to see if you know it, to which you'll be racking your brain until he relents and tell you.
Eventually will start briefly telling you things about Japans' history and art. Especially bonsais, he loves those. He'll never tell you though.
Will probably take you to a Japanese market/restaraunt eventually, if he feels you've gotten good enough.
If you order fluently enough he'll be genuinely pleased (won't show it though).
If not, he'll do it for you (internally cringes at the sheer thought aaaaaa).
However, in the rare event that Hyugo calls him "Subaru" and you hear? And understand?
That won't be good.
He'll tell you to drop it instantly.
And he will give you the most murderous glare if you ever ask him why he goes by Geo.
If he feels you've forgotten about that incident you haven't, he'll be more relaxed again, but will maintain a veil of caution now.
After all, you can understand what he says in private now.
That's not a good thing.
If you like anime he's chill with it, just don't be over-the-top obsessive towards it and he's cool.
Is satisfied you want to learn Japanese though. Likes you a lot smidge more for it too.

I could talk about Turbo’s death and its symbolism a lot but . Ok whatever IM GONNA TALK ABOHT IT RIGHT NOW.
Not only has he become this fucked up bug thing which is already giving “you would sacrifice your own identity for power and attention” but twisted to an extreme and ironic degree.. there’s also The fact he was essentially hypnotized by the light AND HE WAS TRYING TO FIGHT AGAINST IT. But ultimately gave in to his fate. He flew too close to the sun. It’s almost like that was his internal struggle from the very beginning.
Tumblr media
The unquenched envy… the vengeful urge to take over another game the moment people stop paying attention to his. Except at this point it isn’t even a choice anymore because he has gone so far, he has REINVENTED HIMSELF into something entirely unrecognizable and senseless and power-driven. He already did that when he altered his code and fabricated a new identity to infiltrate and usurp sugar rush. But now here it is again- but this time even more extreme and out of his control- he has been reinvented whether he wanted to or not. Playing god gets you in trouble. And now that his coding is combined with cybug coding he’s literally become a virus that has the overwhelming urge to take over and infect everything. But he was already like that in a sense
Tumblr media
It’s ironic how in this form he yearns for the Literal light, but that also translates into wanting the light symbolically- the spotlight… and the urge for this light is going to kill him. In every definition of the word. That symbolic yearn for the spotlight not only “killed” Turbo in the public eye but it killed a part of him that valued his own identity, greatly pushing the lengths he was willing to go in order to take that attention back. While chasing that light he fundamentally changed himself and hurt others to obtain it. And now, in this twisted form that embodies his consequences, he’s too far gone to resist it.
And so the light kills him
Tumblr media
Am I being overdramatic (yes). Does he have simple motives (yes). Does having simple motives make him a bad villain. NOOOOOOOOOOOO . What I find fascinating is how FAR he goes to fulfill his motives. Not only discarding others but discarding himself in a sense …..
maybe it was a programming oversight that made him so overcomepetitive ..? Or maybe he’s just an asshole and that was all his fault Lmao.

Hi, I hope you’re okay.
I’m a little nervous to ask this. I have a question and I just needed some advice really and I didn’t know who too talk to. I know your account’s 18+ and I’m slightly under that, (I’ll be 17 in a month) but I’ve seen how kind and honest you are on your page.
I wanted ask about taking contraception to help ease and later stop periods, not for any sexual reasons at all just purely period based. If this isn’t something you feel comfortable answering then you don’t have to, I promise I’m not asking this to be a creep or anything.
I get heavy periods and bad cramps when I’m on, the cramps vary but when I get them they’re really unpleasant and painkillers don’t do much to help. I’ve been thinking about get something like an IUD to help as a more semi-permanent solution now that I’m getting older but I don’t really know.
If feel like I’m being stupid and dramatic for even considering it and all I can think is “am I doing this for the sake of doing it.” I just need some advice without feeling like I’m going to be judged for it.
Am I possibly considering making a massive mistake and just being stupid? Perhaps I am just being overdramatic and should just suck it up, I don’t know.
I’d love your thoughts if you’re comfortable giving them.
(Btw, I’m from the UK)
{Let’s Talk Hormones and Contraceptives!}
Hey Sweetness…!! I really appreciate you reaching out like this! I am very proud of you for being so vulnerable and sharing. You are so brave. I hope you are doing well! ♥️♥️ I don’t think your ask is weird or creepy at all. I applaud you for asking!
First things first, yes I advise my blog as 18+. This is because I often write smut and harder core fanfiction, as well as I talk about sex and harder topics. If you aren’t 18, *sigh* I usually advise caution. However, while I do have a AMAB men dni, I do not have a minors dni. This is because there are some 17 year olds that are mature enough to handle my content. But in general, and as a rule of thumb, it’s 18+ with a kind of approach at your own caution rule.
Tumblr media
I am very sorry to hear about the pain you undergo during your period… And I’m sorry to hear that painkillers do not work. The unfortunate reality is that painkillers often don’t work to ease those pains, they do for some, but not for others. And if they don’t work for you, that’s okay; if they work for you, that’s okay.
So, to your question— What are my thoughts on using contraceptive methods to ease periods and hormones in vulva owners?
Before I give you my two cents, I want to preface by saying that everyone is different and what does and doesn’t work for me or you might be different for others. And that’s okay. ♥️
If you deal with harsh periods, excessive bleeding, hormonal headache, migraine, and more pain from your hormones as a vulva owner, I would absolutely recommend looking into and researching all your options. If an IUD or birth control pills are helpful, good, use that. Don’t be afraid to try it out. As long as you are being safe, don’t hold back.
Personally, I have migraine, and my neurologist recommended I get a hormonal IUD to try and balance my hormones better. Since getting my IUD, I don’t bleed, I don’t cramp, and my migraine episodes have gone down. It has worked wonders for me, and I am extremely grateful that I took the leap and did it.
Tumblr media
Don’t feel stupid, sweetheart. This is all extremely valid. I have questioned all of this in my life as well. You are valid. Your feelings are valid. Your experiences are valid. You aren’t being dramatic. Advocate for yourself, speak up!
I am touched that you reached out to me about this, sweet thing… 🥰 Thank you, truly. I wasn’t uncomfortable at all, and I loved answering and giving my thoughts. I hope to hear from you again soon! Have a lovely day/night!! 💞💞💞

I'm finally done. 738 issues in mainline canon, and they're all sorted. My great burden is off my chest.
Except for the roughly 150 issues outside mainline canon, fiftysomething episodes of TV, handful of youtube videos and animated shorts, six movies, and two podcast seasons.
Then I'll be free.
Send help.
Batman: Urban Legends #14
This is, imo, the best take on conspiracy theorist Vic. He's goofy and overdramatic, but he's doing it to get a reaction out of Bruce.
It's short and silly enough that it doesn't get grating.
Choosing to believe that he found out Bruce's identity because Ollie forgot that he can't firstname Bruce in Checkmate meetings.
I Am Batman #11-14
It's really fucked up that Renee's both a cop and the Question, actually! That's not any better than her being a cop! I do not get why this story doesn't see that!
It keeps laying out the reasons that policing is fundamentally broken but then walking it back to go "oh but Renee's a good cop" when she's not! She's not even the mythical Good Cop! The entire reason she's the Question is because she was not a good person on the GCPD and she wasn't able to fix the system!
Renee using her understanding of how the police protect themselves to push back against them is a good idea, and then nope never mind the anarchists are the murderers actually. Cannot believe Lonnie died for this shit.
This handoff sucks so much. Vic and Renee got an entire series to explore what Renee and Hadiyah do in two pages, and while I actually quite like the idea that Hadiyah's a closely guarded enigma with connections to people she really shouldn't know, two pages? Really? The event tie-in is more important? Couldn't have spread this out even a little bit more? Also Renee's motivation sucks but what else is new.
GCPD: The Blue Wall
This wants to be Gotham Central. It's not.
I'm being unfair. There's worse copaganda on the list, and Gotham Central is absolutely copaganda that fails to meaningfully engage with a lot of these elements, but it just keeps circling back to Gotham Central while dodging that Renee knows how she handled policing making her a worse person: she quit, and she started looking for the truth.
Look I have a lot of very complicated feelings about this, but the commentary on a spreadsheet assembly readthrough is not the place to do it.
From a strictly Renee perspective: it hauls her development all the way back to where it was right after Half a Life, has a police officer who's realized he's a bastard working for a corrupt system go evil and kill her brother, and has her acknowledge the futility of reform from the inside but doesn't actually have her quit.
Batman: Urban Legends: #21
I don't know how the hell you can write a comic about Renee's guilt over the lives she ruined while a police officer and the way the police system makes people worse and prevents reform from the inside, then end it by having her decide to become the commissioner. The argument for why that doesn't work is on the page.
I Am Batman #15
What did Dark Crisis even do? I thought the multiverse was already back? If not, the fuck was going on in Lois Lane???
I Am Batman #16-18
NOBODY!!!
I really love Nobody as a name. Extremely in the spirit of the Question for her to see one opportunity for a quip and latch onto it forever.
Yes it makes talking about her prone to devolving into a shitty Who's on First bit but so does Question and I think that's funny.
I like that Hadiyah's out there doing her own mysterious Question-flavored thing. Sure, I wish Renee didn't push the mask onto her, but reinvention after rough origins is kind of the Question's thing. Maybe she'll turn it around, or fade into obscurity until a different author picks her up, or become a recurring side character, or DC'll implode again and she'll get caught in the canon reshuffle. Who knows! Nobody does!
She's got a cool design and a few solid hooks - I'm interested to see if she sticks the landing in the next couple years.
Lazarus Planet: Legends Reborn
I still don't like her being the Question and a cop, but it's less bad when she's using her Question skills to chase a horrifying magic apocalypse monster.
It's solid. Not a fantastic characterization, but this is recognizably Renee as the Question.
Detective Comics #1069
Ram V. Please. Make this pay off. I beg you.
Aside from Renee looking at her Question mask, there's a blonde guy in a blue suit jacket who punches a soldier and then gets his shit wrecked, so maybe that upcoming Tec Question story is actually about how Vic's full of demons.
Detective Comics #1072-1074
Nocturne is worth reading for its own sake, it fucking rules, and this is so promising. Cmon, Renee! You can do it! Get out of the character reversion black hole!
DC's Ghouls Just Wanna Have Fun
A good little Halloween-themed Question adventure. She solves a mystery, gets a cape, it's cute and charming. Sort of kiddy but in a good way.
I'd call the art adorable but I think that's the wrong impression. There are some very cute panels, but also some excellent detail work and a great sense of movement. I really like it.
I love that her internal monologue is marked with a hat.
You know what? Things are looking up. It's easy to get depressed about the state of Renee, but it's only actually been about two and a half years in the Bad Zone, and that's... not that bad by DC standards? Sucks to live through, but as far as I can tell there was only one author actively invested in regressing her characterization, everyone else was just going along with that. With Ram V writing for Tec, I'm not enough of a fool to be confident, but I think the odds are decent that the worst has passed.

@juju-227592 replied: It’d be so sweet if he buys her house without telling her and put it under Glob name
That’s a cute idea but as we find out in chapter 19, Oc is fussy 🤣
@sweett-nightt replied: “Please, the big softy will love it.” yuna representing us all 🤣, and the JK meeting too i’m so waiting for more interactions between them
Seokjin is SUCH a big softy 🥺 and don’t worry, more interactions between Yuna and Jungkook to come!!
@0funsite0 replied: Love this!! And I always get sad that I have to wait 2 more weeks for the next one, but then I remember you have a consistent upload pattern ans schedule, which I'm extremely grateful for ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you! I’m very busy lately so it’s been hard to find time to write but hopefully during Christmas and New Year I can get a bunch written and post weekly next year 🤩
@8loominghell replied: Thank you J for doing the Lords work 💜💜💜 I read it as JK & Yuna pulling their heads in a bit because the day isn’t about them
Thank you for reading! and yes! that’s a great way of looking at it! The day was about Oc! they can bicker next time 😂
@firesighgirl reblogged and said: Jordan!!! I've missed 9mtfil couple and their little bubble of happiness so much🥺 it was so funny and sweet how she started screaming for seokjin to rush and feel their daughter kicking and rolling and punching!! Such a sweet bonding experience! And I'm pretty sure that even tho oc's body is getting bigger by the day, they will find new interesting ways to have sex and enjoy themselves!Don't get me started on the baby shower,,, Yuna should definitely be a party organizer, she's amazing! I snorted so loudly with the glob spelled frosting, glob globby globette globbina🥰 and the anticlimactic yuna-jungkook meeting versus the overdramatic jimin-jungkook instant bonding🤣 Yuna watch out for your man, you have competition!!! And I loved all the presents oc got and the slow and steady growth in her relationship with her father (and who hasn't received an accidental blurry selfe by their parents?)What a bittersweet feeling of oc deciding to sell her house and move in with seokjin. It was due time for it to happen, but still I totally get her. I hope the new house has enough rooms for both their gaming room pt.2, the in home offices, the library, globbina's room and rooms for her future siblings🤭
I missed them too! and I think you’re onto something! There’ll definitely come a time when Oc just DOES NOT want to do anything remotely sexual, but until then they can get experimental lol! That’s so funny you said that about Yuna, because originally I was going to make her a party/event planner!! If she gets bored of her job she at least has a back up 😅 and OF COURSE Jimin and Jungkook would become insta best friends. I agree, they really needed to move in together, but house hunting while she’s in her third trimester is so stressy LMAO lucky for Oc tho, she has a super rich boyfriend who can speed up the process by buying a home with cash 🤑🤑
@jovanaprime reblogged and said: This post was so statisfying to read Jordan , at every page break I kept thinking oh no I’ve reached the end but it just kept going .Now why did She scare Jin like that by screaming , but to know it was their cute baby worm , wriggling about about , makes me so sappy .  Her telling Glob to kick him in the nose , so funny . This is Jin , this is DJ (me) and we both have an pregnancy sex kink ? Wow the revelations I am making here , lol . The sex scenes are nice as always .Random side note do you think you could/would ever direct an adult film or write the script .  I would support your endeavor if you so choose to do so. I don’t get how OC sees clearly how much Jin wants to be accepted and liked by everyone else but thinks it’s doesn’t apply to her and their relationship . But I like that Jin in pushing forward and voicing his wants too .Thanks to Yuna for being the annoying yet loving push BabyMama need to move forward with moving in with Jin and possibly selling her place . Thanks you for posting I had been looking forward to Season Three!
The sex scenes are an added bonus! There hasn’t been many this story and there won’t be one until the epilogue now, but yup, Jin has definitely gotten used to having sex with a pregnant Oc hehe! I can’t imagine myself ever writing or directing an adult film, I would be too prudish 😅 which might sound strange considering lol. I think both Oc and Seokjin have their own separate insecurities that have gotten better over the months but still peek out from time to time. Moving in together is a big deal, but it needed to be done, and I think they are more than ready! Thank you for letting me know your thoughts, I always love to hear them! I hope you enjoy season 3 🥰
@jjungcookie reblogged and said: Aaaah Glob moved for real and Seokjin felt it!! That was such a soft moment🥺🥺 By the way with the amount of time they are calling the baby Glob I bet they are going to be calling her wrong for a while hahah or maybe they could keep it and it would become a nickname! Yuna is a force of nature. Planning a baby shower in the midst of her own wedding preparations, what a woman hahah. Jungkook and Yuna meeting was a bit anticlimactic yeah but I feel that's because they felt there was a lot of expectations on their shoulders and they were pressured. It's good to hear jk and jimin hit it off though hahah. Also, who even thought to mention Seokjin ran away after finding out he was going to be a father when the mc's father was in the party🤣🤣🤣 wrong move hahah thank goodness for YeonjaAnd they are going to be living together!! They are going to choose a house together and move their things there and they will be with each other aaall the time I can't wait to see the preparations for that! It was a great chapter as always and I will be patiently waiting for the next one😊
Glob is eager for her 9mtfil debut!!! and I love the idea of keeping Glob as a nickname! I can see them doing that. Yuna is amazing! How does she do everything?! She must never sleep! i am so fucking tired from walking around the park today and standing for most of the pride parade. i feel like my legs are just done. i saw several people with mobility aids and was thinking about how i need to look for a primary care physician so that i can get some of my own. there was someone with arm crutches and i was kinda jealous ngl. i hate how its so hard to get a doctor and its expensive and shit.
side note - all growing up, most of my pain was just dismissed as “growing pains” or “not serious” so i thought extreme chronic pain & fatigue is just normal. i was so jealous of people with mobility aids and i thought there was something wrong with me. i guess there is but the more i’m able to identify my issues, the better i’ve been mentally.
i guess it’s internalized ableism. or was. i’m doing better. the main issue is that i can still technically force my body to move around and do things even when in extreme and severe pain/fatigue. i rarely actually pass out (though sometimes yes) so people just assume I’m being overdramatic about the pain but like its bad.
its I’m a video game character being dragged around at 1% health until going to bed and also pain meds rarely work + other miscellaneous issues. just cause i can technically do things doesn’t mean that i should. cause owwie.

i haven’t kept up with rw.by for years, but i saw that there’s an anime coming out? so i’m watching the first three episodes and will just be writing my thoughts here.
(spoilers for both the anime and the original series under the cut)
i’m only like 10 minutes in but i really like how they’re incorporating the white trailer into the story, giving it context and actual stakes for weiss, though you probably won’t know what those are until the end unless you’re already familiar with rw.by. idk why it cut to blake and adam for like two minutes in the middle of the fight, though, that was weird.
i like the purple added to blake’s hair, it’s a nice touch.
oh, so they’re laying out some of blake’s backstory in episode one rather than making it a twist.
i like that we’re getting to meet the characters’ families and stuff right away rather than them showing up like four seasons later.
why is roman surprised ruby has a semblance, doesn’t everybody have one? or did they change the lore?
NOT THE NARRATION SAYING “EVEN THE MOST BRILLIANT LIGHTS EVENTUALLY FLICKER AND DIE” WHILE SHOWING PYRRHA ON THE SCREEN FOR THE FIRST TIME 😭😭😭
two questions: is jaune using motion sickness as a way to cover up the fact that he’s been crying, and did weiss just check out pyrrha’s ass?
i’m... not a huge fan of the art style, actually. the faces look weird and go off-model a lot, i don’t like the u-shaped mouths, and the eyes look kind of creepy and lifeless.
YES, the conflict between weiss and blake! i’m so glad they’re letting that happen and leaning into it!
YO, WE GET A COMPLETELY NEW CHARACTER FOR A COMPLETELY NEW PLOT AND I AM HERE FOR IT!
okay, so episode three was hella rushed. everything from scenes seeming to cut off a few seconds early, to them skipping an entire fight, to blake not explaining that she was in the white fang to ruby on-screen, to weiss just deciding she’s not racist anymore with absolutely no build-up. yang called her out on lying about wanting to be a good teammate and stuff, but they didn’t get to actually talk about it on-screen, leaving everything extremely unsatisfying and still unresolved. unless weiss is lying about this, too, to make herself seem better, but the triumphant music does not imply that and there are no more episodes yet so idk.
the way they handle weiss as a whole is really weird because on one hand, they hint that there’s a lot more to her than what’s on the surface and she’s so conflicted that one of the nightmare grimm has latched onto her, but they also treat her emotional issues like a bit of a joke and like she’s being overdramatic.
also, this is only episode three, and weiss and blake haven’t had the chance to really develop a bond yet so this emotional “payoff” between them feels shallow and narratively unearned.
okay, the end of the episode makes some of that better, but not all of it. i’m glad they’re making it clear that that wasn’t resolved so easily, and we will be getting a deeper exploration of it all.
final thoughts? it was good! i haven’t watched rw.by in years, and i really enjoyed watching this! i love how they incorporated the black and white trailers into episode 1 and let you get to know the characters and their lives and backstories a bit before they all met at beacon, especially since those will be important later on. i like the addition of the nightmare grimm, and some of the ways they consolidated the early rw.by episodes to make them more interesting and drag less. the show seems to suffer from pacing issues and wonky writing so far, and ruby and yang are less developed than weiss and blake, with yang being especially egregious. ruby does have a character arc set up for her, but honestly? if i didn’t know she was the main character, i’d probably think weiss is the main character, because she’s received the most focus and setup so far.
basically, the writing is really weird, and i’m not going to get my hopes up that this will be everything i wanted rw.by to be back when it was my hyperfixation or anything, but i really liked it for the most part, it’s enjoyable and i’ll probably keep watching when more episodes come out.

I haven't read everything on THOSE pics yet, but am I the only one that thinks Taron (if it's him) kinda looks like Leonardo DiCaprio there? 😅
You know what, Taron has reminded me of Leo so much, especially Leo from Catch Me If You Can, so this doesn’t surprise me at all. And you’re right, there is something Leo-esque about that mystery man. Oh dang, it probably is Taron in those photos.

YOU MET CHOI BEOMGYU THE DAY YOU SWORE TO NEVER FALL IN LOVE.
As dramatic as it sounded, the day hadn’t been quite so terrible. You were sitting cross-legged in the floor of one of the many practice rooms in your university’s music department with a bag of popcorn in your lap, your head leaned back against the wall as you stifled back a yawn. Your best friend, Yeonjun, was going on and on about his most recent breakup, but the story was so similar to all the other breakups he had gone through in the past two years that you were having a difficult time staying focused. The afternoon sunlight trickled in through the windows, reflecting off the symbols of the drum set that rested in the far corner. You scooted to the side a bit so that the light wouldn’t shine in your eyes anymore as Yeonjun paced back and forth in front of you.
“And then she just stopped talking to me,” He said, running his hands through his hair. “Out of nowhere too! Things had been going so well, but then it was weird. Next thing I know, she’s breaking up with me—get this—over text.”
You tossed a piece of popcorn into your mouth. “Tragic.”
“I know you’re being sarcastic, but yes, it was tragic.” He finally stopped pacing and collapsed to the ground beside of you, leaning his head against your shoulder. “Love is so hard. You meet someone, you think it’s going to work and that you’ll spend a long, happy life together. Next thing you know, you’re single and stuck with your best friend in a stinky music room, waiting for some club meeting to start—or whatever it is we’re in here for.”
“We’re here because we are in charge of organizing the music and theater departments’ performance at the open house next month,” You corrected, flicking his forehead. “And didn’t you only date this girl for like, a week?”
He sighed, sitting up to glare at you. “Love knows not the boundaries of time, my dear friend. You’ll understand once you find it for yourself.”
“Calm down, Shakespeare. I am not falling in love.”
“Unfortunately for you, I don’t think you have any control over that,” He said with a teasing smile. “But why wouldn’t you want to?”
You scoffed, turning to stare at him. “Well, for starters, you haven’t exactly given me a good idea of what ‘love’ is supposed to be, seeing as you’re crying about another ‘true-love-gone-wrong’ every three weeks. Why on earth would I want that for myself?”
“Hey, love is different for everyone,” He said. “Just because my love life is vibrant and exciting and full of various names and faces doesn’t mean the same will happen for you.”
“How do you predict my love life will go, then?”
He hummed, tapping his finger against his chin in thought. “Well, you’re pretty boring, so you’ll probably be the kind of person that waits until they find their soulmate, then you’ll settle down and live a long, safe and uneventful life with them.”
“Shut up,” you said as you shoved him, but you couldn’t help the laughter that bubbled out of you. “I think my soulmate is out of the question, though.”
Yeonjun frowned. “You still haven’t heard him since back then?”
You sighed, shaking your head as you leaned back against the wall. “Not a thing.”
It was quiet then as the two of you thought about what this meant. It wasn’t the first time you had been faced with the reality of your situation, but it still felt like a punch to the stomach every time.
In a world where people waited years, decades even, to hear the voice of their soulmate singing in their head, you had been considered extremely lucky to have heard the gentle voice of a boy in your mind at the age of thirteen. You knew that you had to have met him somewhere—at least in passing—in order to hear him, but you had no clue who he was.
Yet, in a way, it felt like you did. He sang often—so often you wondered if singing was as necessary as breathing to him. It wasn’t a bother to you though; in fact, it was quite the opposite. The songs he sang always told a story; some spoke of love and joy, others off loss and heartache. You felt like each song he sang held a piece of him, and that piece was something that was shared just between the two of you.
 Until his voice was gone.
It was rare for him to go a day without singing. Yet suddenly, in your sophomore year of college, days and weeks went by without a single note, and you had yet to hear his voice since.
Your soulmate had stopped singing, and it was difficult to not imagine that the worst had happened.
Yeonjun must have noticed the solemn look that came over your face, because he leaned over and gave your shoulder a squeeze. “Don’t be so gloomy,” he said. “He could still be out there.”
You smiled the best you could, although the pit in your stomach remained. “Yeah, I guess he could.” You tossed the popcorn to Yeonjun and stood to your feet, wiping the crumbs from your hands. “Wait here, okay? The other guy that’s supposed to be helping us is—” You paused to glance at the time on your phone, “—ten minutes late. I’m gonna make sure he knows where to come or see if he’s lost or something.”
Yeonjun nodded, helping himself to what was left of your snack. “Who is the other guy, anyway?”
You sighed, picking up the piece of paper that the department head gave to you when she asked you to organize the showcase, claiming that it would be a great deal of experience for you to acquire in your senior year of university.
You were mostly doing it for the extra credit points.
You began to read the names of the seniors that were in charge of organizing the project listed at the top of the paper. “From the drama department, Choi Yeonjun and Kang Taehyun.”
“Taehyun had an appointment,” Yeonjun said through a mouthful of popcorn. “He’ll be here tomorrow.”
You nodded, tracing your finger along the page, stopping beneath the next pair of names. “From the music department, Y/N and Choi Beomgyu.” You looked up from the paper, tapping your forefinger against your chin. “Choi Beomgyu? Do you know him?”
Yeonjun pondered for a moment before snapping his fingers. “Ah—that guy!” You weren’t surprised; Yeonjun seemed to know everyone in the performing arts programs at your school. “He’s one of the top guitar students, if I’m remembering correctly. Have you not heard of him?”
You shook your head, looking back down at his name. Choi Beomgyu. It did sound familiar, but no images or information came along with the words printed on the page. It was nothing more than a tugging feeling in your stomach that made you feel like you knew him from somewhere.
You began walking towards the door, still staring down at the paper. Just as the tips of your fingers brushed across the metal handle, the door swung open, and you barely had time to glance up and see a head of fluffy black hair and big brown eyes before the door crashed into your forehead so hard you fell backwards to the tile floor.
With a hiss, you brought your hand up to your forehead, relieved to find a lack of blood there. Your eyes were blurred with tears, but through the fog you were able to see the same round doe eyes you had caught a glimpse of before you hit the ground.
“Are you okay?” It was a guy’s voice, clear and ringing in your ears. You rubbed your eyes to clear some of the moisture and were then able to get a better look at the boy in front of you. Curly black bangs hung over his brows, brushing just over the tops of his wide chocolate eyes. His sun-kissed skin was sprinkled with a light spatter of freckles across his nose and lightly flushed cheeks.
You blinked several times before responding. “Y-yeah, I’m okay.” You accepted his hand when he offered to help you stand back up, and soon, you were on your feet once more.
“Sorry about that,” he said, brushing a hand through his already tousled hair. He leaned forward a bit, tapping his finger against your forehead. “Just got a tiny bump, though. You’ll be okay.”
You backed away from his touch, but he didn’t seem to notice as he had caught sight of Yeonjun. Your best friend was quite literally on the edge of his seat, perched on the ledge of the desk while shoveling the last crumbs of popcorn into his mouth as if this were some movie unfolding before his eyes. If you had been close enough, you would have hit him.
“Yeonjun?” Door Boy’s face lit up, and he strode over to give your pink-haired friend a high five. “I haven’t seen you in ages!”
“Hey, man,” Yeonjun said with a grin, ruffling Door Boy’s curly hair with his fingers. “I know, it’s been way too long.”
“I’m sorry, who’s this?” You asked, still a bit dazed from your unexpected collision with the door.
Yeonjun looked back at you, gesturing to the newcomer. “Oh, this is—”
“Choi Beomgyu,” he finished the introduction himself, giving you an overdramatic bow as he said his name. “And you must be Y/N?”
Things were beginning to click together in your head: Door Boy was Choi Beomgyu. In other words, Door Boy was your assigned partner—the one you would be spending the next four weeks trying to plan a performance with.
For some reason, the fact that you had met one another by him slamming a door into your face didn’t leave the best feeling in your chest.
“I look forward to working with you, Y/N.” He gave you a big, lopsided grin, one that any other person would likely find heartwarming.
You forced a smile in return, rubbing your hand across the bump on your forehead. “Same here, Choi Beomgyu.”
 -
PERHAPS IT HAD A BIT TO DO WITH HOW POORLY YOUR FIRST MEETING WENT, BUT SOMETHING ABOUT BEOMGYU REALLY GOT UNDER YOUR SKIN.
The day after you had first met one another, Yeonjun had asked everyone to meet up in the coffee shop inside the campus library. This time, Taehyun from the drama department was also able to be there. You had gotten to know him pretty well over the past four years because of how close he and Yeonjun had become, so the three of you hung out often.
In fact, for the first fifteen minutes of the meeting, it was just the three of you sitting there. You pushed your tongue against the inside of your cheek in agitation before taking another sip of your coffee. “Does this Beomgyu guy have a thing for being late?”
“Relax, Y/N,” Yeonjun said absently from across the table, his attention focused primarily on his cell phone screen. “Not everyone’s a time freak like you.”
“Time freak—What does that even mean?” You crumpled up the wrapper from Taehyun’s straw and threw it at Yeonjun. “Unlike you, I actually care about getting these extra credit points and would like to organize this event properly.”
“Hey! I care!” Yeonjun placed a hand over his heart, as though he had been wounded.
You and Taehyun exchanged a side glance with one another, eyebrows raised.
“Stop looking at each other like that! I do care!”
Before the point could be argued any further, a messy-haired boy crashed into the seat beside of you, out of breath, his backpack falling from his shoulder and onto the ground from the impact. You stared at him for a moment before realizing that it was Beomgyu.
“Sorry—I’m late,” he said in between deep breaths. “On my way here—saw one of the campus cats—got distracted.”
You stared at him again, almost laughing at how ridiculous of an excuse that was. However, considering what little you knew of Beomgyu, the thought of him being fifteen minutes late to a meeting because he got distracted by a cat didn’t seem all that unlikely. With a sigh, you slid a blank piece of notebook paper towards him and set a pen on top of it. “It’s all good. Mind taking notes?”
He nodded—a bit too enthusiastically, if you were to say so yourself. “Sure. Can I grab a coffee real quick?”
You were about to suggest that he should wait until after the meeting, since the three of you had been there for such a long time already, but Taehyun chimed in before you could say anything with, “Of course. We’ve got nowhere else to be.”
It took everything within you to not roll your eyes. You were usually on the same page as Taehyun, but of course, this situation had to be an exception, because Choi Beomgyu was there.
The slacker was rummaging around his backpack, searching for something. He pouted, looking up from his bag. “I forgot my wallet.”
“No worries! Y/N doesn’t eat breakfast, so she always has an extra swipe on her meal card,” Yeonjun said from across the table. Your mouth fell open, eyes wide as saucers. “I’m sure she wouldn’t mind letting you use it. Right, Y/N?”
You weren’t quite sure that you did want Beomgyu to use your meal card, but what kind of jerk would you be if you said no? With gritted teeth and a glare at your best friend, you fished your meal card out of your wallet and placed it into Beomgyu’s open palm.
The pout left his lips instantly, a big grin taking its place. “Thanks. I’ll return the favor sometime soon.”
Doubt it, you thought, watching him rush towards the counter to order. You’ll probably forget you said that by the time you get your drink.
Soon he was back at the table, caramel latte in hand, your meal card back in your possession. You cleared your throat, shifting in your seat. “If everyone’s ready, we can go ahead and get started. I met with my professor yesterday—she’s also the head of the classical music department. She’s technically our ‘overseer,’ but all the responsibility of planning the performance is on us. We’ll only have about forty minutes total to showcase the drama and music departments, so we need to choose our sets wisely.”
“Yeonjun and I were talking a bit about this earlier,” Taehyun said. “We’ve been preparing for our winter show since the beginning of the summer, so we figured we could just perform a scene from the play.”
You nodded, liking the idea. “That sounds perfect. What’s the play?”
 “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.”
“Right, I knew that. Could you guys work on finding a scene around ten or fifteen minutes long to perform for the open house, then?”
Yeonjun and Taehyun both nodded. You smiled, glad that you were finally starting to get some things together for the event.
When you glanced at Beomgyu to make sure he had written that down, the smile left as quickly as it had come when you saw that he was doodling tiny flowers and hearts all over the page rather than taking notes.
He must have felt your eyes on him, because he glanced up and caught your gaze. Seemingly unbothered, he simply smiled and said, “Don’t worry. I was just about to write it down.”
Your fingers itched to reach over and take the pen and paper from him so you could just do it yourself, but you kept your composure. “Beomgyu. Any ideas for what the music department could do?”
He finished writing down Drama Department—Scene from “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” before looking at you again. He shrugged, another nonchalant smile spreading across his face. “Not really. I’m down for whatever it is you decide to do.”
“Wow, helpful. Truly.” Your eyes went wide when you realized you had said those words out loud after Yeonjun and Taehyun began to snicker beside you. Your face flushed with embarrassment, but Beomgyu seemed unphased, that careless lopsided grin of his still on full display.
You sighed, brushing a piece of hair behind your ear. “Well, I was thinking about having the orchestra do a piece, and then having one of the student bands do a piece. That way we have something classical and something more contemporary. Thoughts?”
“I think that’s a good idea,” Taehyun said. “If we do our scene first, the orchestra could kind of act as a bridge between Shakespeare and more modern art.”
“I agree,” Yeonjun said. “And since Y/N is in the orchestra, she can get in touch with the director and have them prepare something. Oh, and Beomgyu!” The curly-haired boy looked up from his doodling when his name was called. “You know a few different bands, right? Think you could piece together a group of performers?”
“Definitely,” Beomgyu said. When he noticed your eyes on him, he quickly scribbled down Orchestra—Y/N. Band—Beomgyu Me.
“Well, since we all have our first tasks, I guess that’s all for today.” You were happy that the meeting was over; you were ready to get back to your dorm so you could get to work and actually get things done.
“Wait!” Beomgyu said as you stood up, slinging your bag over your shoulder.
Now you have something to say. You raised a brow at him expectantly.
“We should exchange phone numbers, right?” He smiled, standing up and holding his phone out towards you. “I have the others’ numbers, but I figure I should be able to contact my partner from the music department.”
You hesitated, but knew there was no logical reason why you shouldn’t give him your number. You were going to be working together for the next several weeks, after all.
After putting your number in, he took his phone back and grinned at you again, eyes scrunching up into crescent moons. “Perfect! I’ll try not to bother you too much, but I make no promises.” He reached forward and ruffled your hair, and you were too caught off guard by the sudden touch to back away, or to even react at all. He then waved at all three of you, throwing his backpack over his shoulder. “See you guys tomorrow then.” He turned towards you again, throwing you a casual wink that still managed to have you flustered. “I’ll be in touch, partner.”
You turned to watch him leave, face warm as you brushed through your hair with your fingers, trying to undo the damage your “partner” had done.
Something told you that he wouldn’t be keeping his promise about trying not to bother you anytime soon.
 -
OVER THE NEXT FEW WEEKS, BEOMGYU PROVED HIMSELF TO BE ONE OF THE MOST BOTHERSOME PEOPLE YOU HAD COME ACROSS IN A LONG, LONG TIME.
The worst part was the fact that he didn’t do anything blatantly wrong. He did everything he was asked to do when it came to preparing for the showcase. The first week of work consisted of the two of you gathering all the students who would be participating in the performances, along with Yeonjun and Taehyun preparing those from the drama department. Beomgyu performed all of his tasks just as he was asked to do, so it wasn’t as if he was bothering you by being unhelpful.
It was just something about the way he held himself that seemed to get under your skin for no apparent reason.
For the past week, your “partner” had basically been a tagalong—he would stand beside of you and do what he was asked without contributing much to the creative process of planning. You found it hard to criticize him up front, as he just did as he was told.
However, that was all he did. When the four of you would all sit down together to discuss plans or ideas, Beomgyu’s role never changed: he would sit beside all of you, jot down anything you told him to in his nearly-full composition notebook, and crack an occasional joke that would always send Yeonjun and Taehyun into fits of laughter, but only earned a stiff, forced smile from you.
You were starting to wonder why your professor had assigned him to your team. After all, putting on this open house was your last shot at making a lasting impression on the higher ups in your department. Everything needed to be perfect; mediocracy was not an option.
In other words, Choi Beomgyu needed to step up his game, and he needed to do it quickly.
You thought about this on the day of your first rehearsal, where all of the students who would be participating in the performances had gathered in the main auditorium of the music building.
Drama students were scattered in all directions, occupying the space around them with dramatic line readings and critiques for their classmates as they practiced their roles. Yeonjun and Taehyun were busy taking charge of the drama students, making sure everything was running smoothly amongst them. You watched as Kai, one of the freshman students Yeonjun had taken under his wing, followed your friends around like a baby penguin waddling after its parents, and you couldn’t help but smile at the sight.
Music students were spread across the stage, the orchestra setting up instruments and covering stands with sheets filled by notes and lyrics while the band tuned their guitars and plugged up their mics. Soobin, a tall, blue-haired student from the same year as you, waved at you from stage with his mic in hand. You waved back, happy that you had been able to snag him as the main vocalist for the band’s performance—his voice was angelic, able to captivate any listener.
“Hey.” You turned at the sound of the voice you had begun to grow quite accustomed to, whether that was for better or for worse. Beomgyu was standing beside of you, brushing a hand through the curly black bangs that hung just above his eyes. The tip of his nose was flushed pink, a sign that he had likely just been out in the biting cold that had begun to creep up as fall quickly approached. He had his backpack slung over one shoulder and his guitar case held in one hand.
“Running a little late, aren’t we?” You asked, glancing at the time on your phone with no attempt at hiding your frown. “Is this going to be a trend with you, Choi Beomgyu?”
He laughed, nudging his shoulder against yours. You wanted to be more irritated with him than you were, but he had the kind of laugh that put everyone around him at ease; the kind of laugh that filled one’s chest with warmth, as if you had been directly touched by a ray of sunlight reaching down from the sky.
So you settled with being only slightly irritated, pursing your lips to keep your expression in check as he responded with, “What fun would it be if everyone was on time?”
“It’s not about fun, it’s about making sure this whole thing runs smoothly,” you said as you turned to face him. “Speaking of which, since you didn’t have any suggestions, I went ahead and helped the band choose a setlist. They’ll only have time for two songs, but the ones I picked are really diverse and should be—”
“Ah!” He cut you off, snapping his fingers in front of your face, causing you to flinch back in surprise. “I knew there was something I forgot to tell you.”
 “What?”
He rubbed the back of his neck, grinning as he shifted a bit closer to you. You could smell his cologne—a misty citrus scent that was so light you could barely tell it was there. “Well, it’s kind of embarrassing, but the professor actually wanted the band to perform one of the songs I wrote. If that’s okay with you, of course—you’re the boss, after all.”
“You—you write songs?” You asked, trying not to get irritated at the sudden disruption of what you had planned. He had been complacent this entire time, so of course, the time he actually had something to contribute, he would be messing up what you had already set in place.
“Well, if it’s a suggestion from the professor, I can’t just deny you permission, can I?” You said with a forced laugh. “Do you have the—”
“Sheet music?” He finished your sentence, shaking a stack of papers in front of you. “Right here, partner. Want me to go tell the band?”
You sighed, crossing your arms over your chest. “Sure. Just tell them to switch the second song I had picked out with this one.”
He smiled at you again, ruffling your hair with the same hand he held the papers in. “You’re a saint. I’ll talk to you in a bit then?”
You had no time to respond before he was setting off towards the stage to talk to the band, papers and guitar in hand. You huffed through pursed lips, mumbling under your breath as you tried to put your hair back in place.
“What was that all about?” You dropped your hands to your sides when Yeonjun approached you, eyebrow quirked. Half of his cotton-candy colored hair was pulled into a ponytail, and he had on a pair of big round glasses with what you knew to be fake lenses—a fashion statement rather than a necessity.
“I don’t think Beomgyu knows much about personal boundaries or personal responsibility,” you mumbled, allowing Yeonjun to come up and finish fixing your hair with his fingers. “He decided to just now tell me that our professor wanted the band to use one of his songs in the performance.”
 “What’s wrong with that?”
“Nothing’s wrong with it, I just—” You hesitated, unsure of how to respond without sounding like a jerk. “I just wish he would have told me about it sooner. That’s all.”
“Y/N, you need to cut the guy some slack,” Yeonjun said, stepping back once he was finished fixing up your hair. “You act as though you have a personal vendetta against him or something.”
“I do not,” You argued, feeling you defenses flare up at his words. “Why would you say that?”
“I don’t know, maybe because every time he walks in the room you start to grimace, and every time he talks to you I can literally feel the amount of energy it takes for you to not roll your eyes.”
 “You’re exaggerating.”
“If you say so.” He put his hand on your shoulder, giving you a stern look that did, in fact, make you roll your eyes. “Give him a chance, Y/N. You may end up liking him more than you’d expect.”
You scoffed as your best friend walked away from you, returning to work on his previous tasks with Taehyun. A vendetta? Was it really that obvious to the people around you that Beomgyu got under your skin?
Perhaps Yeonjun was right—you did have a tendency to be extra sensitive when it came to your academic responsibilities. Maybe you were being too hard on Beomgyu; his goal was the same as yours, even if his methods differed drastically from yours.
You looked up to the stage to see Beomgyu laughing as he said something to Soobin, the rest of the band analyzing the sheets of music in their hands—Beomgyu’s song, if you had to guess. His skin glowed like honey beneath the stage lights, and you noticed that when he laughed, he laughed with his entire body; his eyes disappeared into crescents, his shoulders shook, he clapped his hands together and even stomped his feet a bit. You smiled slightly at the sight, before a pang of guilt hit you.
He did seem like a nice guy. It was time you gave him a chance to be seen as such in your eyes.
 -
ANY PATIENCE YOU HAD DESPERATELY TRIED TO HOLD WITH BEOMGYU WAS WEARING THIN, AND IT HAD ONLY BEEN AN HOUR SINCE YOU DECIDED TO GIVE HIM A CHANCE.
You had both stayed behind with Yeonjun and Taehyun to clean up the auditorium after the practice. “I think that we’re done, don’t you?” You asked everyone after picking up a few discarded sheets of paper left behind by the drama students.
“Almost,” Beomgyu said from the stage. You looked up at him to see him pointing at two large music stands left behind by the orchestra. “Someone left these behind.”
“Can’t we just leave them there?” Yeonjun asked.
Taehyun shook his head. “No, we were given specific instructions to not leave anything behind.” He glanced at his phone. “They’re about to close the building for the night, so we should hurry and put them up.”
“I know which room they came from, so I can take them back,” Beomgyu offered.
“They’re pretty heavy, Beomgyu. Are you sure you can carry them on your own?” Taehyun asked.
 “Yeah, it’s fine—”
“No, no, someone should definitely help you. You have to carry your guitar too,” Yeonjun interjected, a mischievous glint in your eyes that sent sirens blaring in your head. The feelings of disdain only grew when Yeonjun made eye contact with you directly, seeming to give you a sweet smile, but you knew the expression was laced with ulterior motives. “Y/N, why don’t you carry one while Beomgyu carries the other?”
You wanted to smack him, but that wouldn’t have been a good look for you, considering that everyone already thought you hated Beomgyu anyways. You glanced up at him on the stage to see that he had already picked one of the stands up, his guitar in the other hand.  He gave you a big grin, eyes sparkling like freshly fallen snow. “What do you say, partner? Care to give me a hand?”
You pushed your tongue against the inside of your cheek, knowing that there was no way you were getting out of this one. “Sure,” You said through your teeth, glaring daggers at Yeonjun before making your way up the steps to the stage. The music stand wasn’t too heavy, so you almost dared to ask Beomgyu to try carrying them both in one hand, but decided against it.
“We’ll go ahead and leave then,” Yeonjun said, throwing a taunting wink your way. “You two have fun.”
You hate to bite your tongue to keep from cursing at him as Yeonjun and Taehyun left the auditorium, leaving you alone with Beomgyu for the first time. You glanced his way, noticing that he already had his eyes on you. Instead of averting his gaze when yours met his, he just smiled wider, gesturing towards the door with his head. “Shall we?”
You forced another smile. “Lead the way, partner.”
You followed him out the doors and up the stairs to the first floor, where the orchestra’s practice room was located. You were very familiar with the area, being a violinist yourself. When the two of you reached the room, you rushed forward to open the door, as Beomgyu’s hands were full. He thanked you and stepped inside first, and you followed suit, letting the heavy door swing shut behind you.
“Where should we set them?” He asked.
You nodded to the far corner of the room. “Over there.”
The two of you set the stands down, and you instantly turned back towards the door, ready to get back to your dorm for some alone time after such a taxing day.
“In a rush?” Beomgyu asked from behind you.
You turned to look over your shoulder at him as your hand grasped the doorknob. “Nah, just tired. Aren’t you?”
He shrugged, shifting his guitar case from one hand to the other. “Not really.”
“Lucky you,” You mumbled, turning back towards the door. “Well, I guess I’ll see you tomorrow—”
You stopped mid-sentence, heart dropping to your toes. When you tried to turn the knob, it wouldn’t move. After a moment of shock, you tried again, and then again, violently shaking the knob, trying to get the door to open.
“No, no, no,” You said, shaking the handle desperately. “Come on, this can’t be happening!”
“What is it?” Beomgyu asked, setting his guitar on the floor before rushing to your side.
“The door won’t open.” You shook the knob more frantically than ever, the entire door shaking from the force.
“Woah, easy there, partner,” Beomgyu said, gently placing his hand on your arm. “Why don’t you let me try to—”
“What exactly do you think you’re going to be able to do differently?” You snapped, snatching your arm away from him. His mouth hung open, eyes wide with what you assumed to be shock. “We’re stuck in here, Beomgyu. We’re stuck, and we’re not going to get out for god knows how long, and with you as my ‘partner,’ I’m one hundred percent certain we’re not going to be able to find a way out of here on our own.”
You could tell that your words struck a nerve with him by the way his shoulders tensed and how his eyes went narrow. Looking back, you wished you could reel the words back in, but they had already done their damage.
“Why do you hate me so much?” He asked, his voice low and thick with irritation.
It was your turn to be shocked. “What?”
“I said, why do you hate me so much?”
You blinked rapidly, feeling exposed and vulnerable now that he was confronting you. “I don’t—I don’t hate you, Beomgyu.”
He scoffed, pulling his bottom lip under his teeth. “Come on, I’m not that much of an idiot. This entire time, from the moment we first met, you’ve been cold and snippy with me. You can barely hide how much you dislike me with your facial expressions. I thought maybe we just got off on the wrong foot, so I’ve been brushing it off and treating you kindly. But you still treat me like I’m some annoying fly that you can’t quite get rid of, and I want to know why.”
“That’s not—I don’t hate you,” You repeated, jumbling your words together as you struggled to figure out what to say.
 “Well, what’s the issue then?”
“You don’t take anything seriously!” Your voice wasn’t quite a shout, but it was almost there. Beomgyu took a step back, arms dropping to his sides.
“You’re treating this entire thing like it’s an elementary school play,” You continued, your voice getting louder and your words coming out more and more rushed the more you spoke. “You don’t contribute in the meetings, you show up late, and you barely do the things I ask you to do. I understand it may not be anything special to you, but this is my last chance to do something memorable here. I’m graduating in the spring, and up until this point, I’ve been nothing but another violinist tossed in the orchestra. I don’t stand out to my professors, or to scouts, to anyone.”
Hot tears began to well in the corners of your eyes as thoughts of your mother surfaced. Every word she had ever said about your pursuit of music being a waste of time, of how little a chance you had of making it, how your only hope was to stand out in the department, which, of course, she highly doubted you would be capable of doing.
“I have to do this, and I have to do it right.” Your voice wavered as you swiped at your cheeks, where a few tears had fallen. “If I don’t, then I’ll—I’ll—”
“Hey, hey, it’s okay.” Beomgyu’s voice was gentle, in stark contrast to the razor-sharp tone he had held just seconds before. You looked at him through your teary eyes to see that his own eyes were wide, this time with concern rather than anger. “You don’t have to explain, I understand, okay? I’m sorry, Y/N.”
You sniffed, more tears gliding down your cheeks as you did so. “What?”
“I’m sorry,” He repeated, looking as though he were about to start crying himself. “I had no idea that’s how I was coming across. I’m really, really sorry.”
You stared at him, dumbfounded. How were you supposed to respond to that? The last thing you expected to hear from him was an apology, especially since, now that you had yelled at him, you realized how unfair you were being towards him. You shook your head, wiping furiously at your eyes. “No, you don’t have to apologize Beomgyu. I should be apologizing—I’m the one being irrational, not to mention I’m also the one that locked us in here—”
“How about we just call it even then, hm?” He cut you off, looking around before he spotted a box of tissues on the front desk. He grabbed one and made his way back over to you, gently wiping the tears from your face, being careful to not touch you directly. “We’ve both apologized for something that the other person doesn’t think requires an apology. The grounds are neutral now.”
You laughed, gently taking the tissue from his hand so you could wipe your eyes on your own. He stepped back when you did so, smiling nervously at your sudden laughter.
“Thank you, Beomgyu,” You said quietly, wadding the tissue up in your hand.
He rubbed the back of his neck, rocking back and forth on his feet. “No need to thank me, Y/N.” He paused, seeming to be in deep thought. It was quiet for a moment before he stuck his hand out towards you, expression cautiously hopeful. “Now that we both understand each other a little better, do you think we could start over?”
You smiled, wrapping your hand around his to give it a firm shake. “Yeah. I’d like that.”
 -
THE WORLD ALWAYS SEEMED COLDER WHEN YOU WERE ALONE.
Of course, it could have felt cold because you were alone in a hotel parking lot, sitting on the cool pavement in the late hours of the night. You hadn’t brought a jacket with you, and your dress was sleeveless and made of thin fabric that didn’t do much to protect you from the wind that sent strands of hair flying across your face.
However, you were certain that if your mother or father had been sitting beside of you that early winter’s night, you would barely even notice the bite of the wind or the goosebumps that prickled up all over your bare arms. Even the stars had denied you their company; the sky was pitch black, void of any trace of light.
Lower lip trembling, you sighed as you kept your gaze on the sky above, thinking that maybe, if you kept looking, you’d find a single star shining amidst the darkness. Tears filled your eyes, but you wiped them away before they could fall.
“You’re a strong girl, Y/N,” Your mother would say if she were to catch you crying. “Strong girls don’t cry, do they?”
“No,” You whispered, even though she wasn’t there to hear you. “Strong girls don’t cry.”
 “What do you mean?”
You jumped at the sudden voice, placing your hand over your heart before you turned your head to see a boy sitting on the pavement beside you. He had curly black hair that stuck out from beneath a beanie, covering the top of his eyes, and a big jacket on over his clothes. He seemed to be the same age as you, but of course, you couldn’t be sure.
“W-what?” You spoke through shaking lips, pulling your arms around yourself in an attempt to stay warm.
“You said that strong girls don’t cry,” He said, eyeing you with curiosity. “What do you mean by that?”
“Oh,” you whispered, looking down at your shoes—a pair of black flats with scuff marks all over the toes. “It’s nothing— just something my mom says.”
He hummed, leaning back on the palms of his hands. “Well, I think she’s wrong. Everyone cries, even the strongest people alive. If someone tells you they don’t cry, then they’re lying.” He turned towards you, a big grin on his face. “You don’t seem like a liar to me.”
You sniffled, wiping your hand across your cheeks to catch the few tears that had managed to slip down. “Thanks, I think.”
“It was definitely meant as a compliment.” He sat up straight then, narrowing his eyes at you. You shrunk back a bit, shoulders shaking as the wind only seemed to get stronger by the second.
A moment later, he was sitting right beside of you, so close that his arm brushed against yours as he slipped his coat off, revealing an oversized hoodie beneath it. He wrapped the coat around your shoulders, and zipped it up, trapping your arms inside. He smiled again and sat back, but he was still close to you, so close that your shoulders were pressed together and his pinky was resting on top of yours.
Eyes wide, you slowly shook your head and slipped your arms through the sleeves so you could reach the zipper. “No, I’m okay—”
“Hey, keep it on, please,” He interrupted, placing his hand on top of yours to stop you from unzipping the coat. “It’s freezing out here, and you don’t even have any sleeves.”
You hesitated, not wanting to be a bother to this unexpectedly kind stranger, but you would have been lying if you had said that the cold wasn’t starting to bother you. Not wanting your lips to turn blue, you nodded, pulling your arms back into the coat to keep them extra warm.
“Thank you,” you said quietly. “What are you doing out here, by the way?”
“Me? Oh, I was just sneaking out to the indoor pool.” He pointed over his shoulder at the building with a large dome roof made of glass. “My parents are already asleep and didn’t notice me leave. You?”
“Ah, well, my family is staying here for the night. My parents and I are going out for dinner to celebrate my birthday.”
“It’s your birthday?” He asked, eyes growing wide. You nodded sheepishly and his smile grew bigger before he reached over to ruffle your hair with his hand. “Happy birthday!”
You giggled, smoothing your hair back down when he pulled his hand away. Your eyes met his, which seemed to sparkle with the light of billions of galaxies, paired perfectly with his beaming smile, and you realized that maybe you didn’t need the stars that night after all, because he alone shined brightly enough.
He looked around then, eyebrows furrowed. “But, where are your parents? Shouldn’t you guys get going before all the restaurants close?”
Your smile faded just as quickly as it had appeared. You swallowed, your eyes drifting towards a car that sat a few yards away from the two of you. The car was running and the lights inside were on, casting a yellow glow onto the two occupants seated in the front: your parents. Although you couldn’t hear what they were saying, you knew that they were yelling by the way they pointed their fingers at each other, and by the expressions on their faces, and the intensity with which their lips were moving.
The boy followed your gaze, his mouth parting slightly in surprise when he caught sight of your parents in the heat of their dispute. He glanced sideways at you before moving to sit in front of you, blocking your view of your parents.
“Why don’t you sneak to the pool with me?” He asked.
You shook your head immediately, a slight smile returning to your face. It was clear that he was trying to distract you, and you were grateful. That didn’t mean you were willing to sneak away from your parents, especially when the tension among your family was already sky high.
“Why not?” He whined, sticking his bottom lip out in a pout.
“Because I’m not supposed to move from this spot,” You said.
“And I wasn’t supposed to leave my hotel room, yet here I am.” He shrugged nonchalantly, brushing his bangs out of his eyes only for them to fall right back into place. “What’s the worst that could happen?”
There were a lot of really terrible things that could happen as a result of you sneaking away to go night swimming with a boy you didn’t know while your parents fought in the middle of a hotel parking lot. You could probably list ten off the top of your head. However, when you looked into the starry eyes of the boy in front of you, his lips spread in an encouraging grin that made you feel warm inside despite the cold, you hesitated.
What was the worst thing that could happen? The list seemed to be erased from your head as quickly as it appeared.
He tilted his head to the side, a playful glint sparkling in his eyes. He stood up and stretched his hand out to you, his fingers trembling from the cold.
 “Should we run away?”
Your fingers twitched, urging to reach out touch his own. You bit the inside of your cheek, trying to find the balance between being rational and following where your heart was leading. These two things did not seem to be lining up.
Before you could do anything, however, you heard a car door slamming shut. You jumped to your feet just in time to see your mother stepping away from the vehicle before your father drove off, leaving her alone in the parking lot. Eyes wide with worry, you watched as your mother brushed her hand across her cheeks before taking a deep breath and making her way towards you.
“Y/N,” she said when she reached you, not even glancing at the boy beside of you as she took your face in her hands. “Your dad is going to come pick us up in the morning. How about we just have a girl’s night to celebrate your birthday instead?”
With your heart dropping to your toes, you felt the tears welling in your eyes once again, but you refused to let them fall. You smiled and nodded, wrapping your hand around your mother’s. “Yeah. That sounds fine.”
You turned towards the boy to see that his face was full of concern. Forcing the best smile you could, you unzipped his coat and slipped it off your shoulders before placing it back in his outstretched hands.
“Thank you,” you said quietly. Before he could say anything back, you had turned away and began walking back towards the entrance, arm-in-arm with your mother.
“I was thinking we could order a pizza and rent your favorite movies,” she said, straining to keep the emotion out of your voice. “I’ll order the food once we get back to the room, okay?”
You nodded slowly, halting your footsteps just before the automatic doors that led inside.
But when you turned your head to catch one last look at the boy who shined brighter than the stars, he was already gone.
 -
IN THE HAZY PLACE BETWEEN SLEEPING AND WAKING, YOU COULD HAVE SWORN YOU HEARD HIM SINGING.
With your eyes still closed, the sound rang through your head, clear as day. It was comforting, as if you had heard it before. Yet it wasn’t a sound that only echoed around you. This voice, so gentle and sweet that it seemed to drip with sugar and honey, filled all of your senses to the brim. You weren’t just hearing it, you were feeling it.
“In moments like those, when tears fill your eyes, hold my hand tight. Should we run away?”
You sighed, swept away by the sound and the words that the voice sang. You felt as though you had heard it before, but you couldn’t quite think of where. Snuggling closer to whatever it was that you were leaning against, you allowed the faintest of smiles to trace its way across your lips.
 The singing stopped. “Y/N?”
“Hmm?” You pressed your face closer against the warmth you were leaning into, frowning at the sudden absence of the soothing voice.
 “Are you awake?”
“Yeah,” you mumbled, slowly forcing your eyes open.
You weren’t quite sure where exactly you expected to be when you opened your eyes, but it definitely was not on the floor of the orchestra practice room with your head in Choi Beomgyu’s lap. Beomgyu was smiling down at you, black curls hanging over his eyes, freckles illuminated by the faint moonlight that spilled through the windows.
You sat up quickly, trying to fix your messy hair as you felt your face grow warm. You didn’t remember falling asleep, but you were incredibly embarrassed that you had.
“How—how long was I asleep?” You asked, your voice hoarse.
“Just an hour or so. I think you got so stressed out after trying to call so many people that you just passed out,” Beomgyu said. He reached his hands toward you and helped you straighten up your hair, which only served to make your face even warmer than before.
“Sorry,” you said, gesturing to his lap. “For . . . that.”
He waved his hand at you before folding his hands behind his head. “Don’t apologize. Seems like you needed the sleep—you were dreaming pretty intensely.”
“I was? Did I say anything weird in my sleep? What did I say? Was it embarrassing?” You grabbed his sleeve, eyes wide as you bombarded him with questions.
He laughed, shaking his head in reassurance. “Don’t worry, it was nothing embarrassing. But you were talking.”
 “What did I say?”
“Hmm, something about it being your birthday?” He placed a finger against his chin, eyes narrowed. “I’m not sure exactly what else. It was all kinda random.”
You squeezed your eyes shut, biting the inside of your cheek as you let go of his sleeve. You remembered every bit of the dream you had—well, it wasn’t really a dream as much as it was a memory. It was embarrassing to think that Beomgyu had heard any part of the memory, but you tried not to think about it too much.
“Beomgyu,” You said, opening your eyes once more to look at him. “Were you singing just now? Before I woke up?”
He didn’t say anything at first, his expression blank. Then, he smiled, nudging your shoulder with his. “Of course not—you know I don’t sing. Why?”
“Actually, for the record, I did not know that,” You corrected. “And I don’t know, I just .  . . thought I heard someone.”
“Maybe it was your soulmate,” Beomgyu said, moving his eyebrows up and down.
You sighed, looking down at your feet. “I wish it was. I haven’t heard from him in two years.”
The smile fell from Beomgyu’s face right away. “Ah, sorry, I didn’t know.”
“It’s okay, you don’t have to apologize.”
“Do you . . . know what happened to him?”
You shook your head, staring at the moon through the window. “No. I don’t even know who he was.”
“Hey, why are you speaking in the past tense?” He turned towards you and grabbed your shoulders, forcing you to face him. “Think positively, Y/N. He could still be out there. When did you first hear him?”
“When I was thirteen,” You answered. “But he stopped singing two years ago.”
“And you haven’t heard anything since then?”
You hesitated, thinking back over the past two years and all the sleepless nights you had spent waiting and hoping to hear any trace of a note ringing in your ears, the faintest hint of a voice. Sometimes, when you were just about to close your eyes, you would’ve sworn that you could hear his voice for the briefest of moments before you drifted off, but you would always blame it on being sleep deprived.
“No,” you said quietly. “I haven’t heard anything. He used to sing all the time, too. I would wake up to the sound of his voice, and it would carry me throughout each and every day. I know it sounds weird to say this about someone I don’t remember meeting, but I felt . . . connected to him, if that makes sense?”
Beomgyu didn’t say anything, so you continued. “He’s actually the reason why I picked up the violin. I got so used to his voice, I would go around humming all day. I guess my mom got tired of hearing me, because soon after I started hearing him, my mom signed me up for violin lessons. And, well, now I’m here.”
You looked over to see Beomgyu smiling softly, but his eyes didn’t meet yours. “Do you have any idea of who it might be?”
You were quiet for a moment. The image of the boy from the hotel parking lot with his star-struck eyes and diamond smile came to your mind, as always.
“No. But I have someone I hope it is.”
You looked over at him again, and this time, his eyes met yours. The silvery light of the moon highlighted the right side of his face and the bridge of his nose, casting a stark shadow across the other side. He was neither smiling nor frowning as his eyes searched yours. What exactly he was looking for you couldn’t be sure of, however, you liked the eye contact well enough to let it go on for a moment longer before you cleared your throat, looking back towards the window.
“Did you try calling Yeonjun again?”
 “Yep. No answer.”
 “Taehyun?”
 “Nothing.”
 “The professor?”
 “Didn’t pick up—I left a message though.”
You sighed, allowing the back of your head to hit the wall behind you. “We’ll be stuck here all night at this rate.”
“Well, now that you’ve had a little nap, we may as well use this time to be productive,” Beomgyu said, standing to his feet and stretching his arms above his head as he did so.
You crossed your arms, raising a brow as you watched him pull his guitar out of the case. “What’s this? Choi Beomgyu taking initiative?”
“Hey, we said we were starting over.”
You laughed as he sat on the edge of the desk in front of where you were sitting on the floor. He pulled the strap over his shoulder and began tuning his guitar by ear, something you always struggled to do with your violin.
“What are you doing?” You asked.
He strummed through all the strings, nodding when he was satisfied with the sounds. Glancing down at you, he smiled. “What does it look like I’m doing? I’m going to show you the song I wrote.”
Interest piqued, you sat up straighter and smiled back at him. “I was hoping that’s what you’d say.”
He laughed, adjusting his position on the desk before his fingers found their place on the neck of the guitar. You listened attentively as he began to pick the first notes, watching the way his fingers moved deliberately across the frets, yet, his movements never lost their grace. At first, he kept his eyes focused on his hands. But as the song went on, his eyes slowly closed, and he played without seeing, relying solely on the sound of the notes he was creating and the feeling of the strings that pressed into his calloused fingertips.
Awestruck would have been an understatement for the way you felt as you watched him play. The way he became one with the sounds he created, the way his wrist twisted to strum and how his fingertips slid across the length of the instrument as if it was the very thing they had been created to do. You were hypnotized, allowing the music to seep into your heart and make it thump against your chest like a caged bird begging to be set free.
If you had to put a word to how he looked in that moment, “beautiful” was the closest you would be able to get.
He opened his eyes as he strummed the last note, a gentle grin on his lips. You noticed how his eyes sparkled in the darkness, despite his back being towards the moonlight rather than his face.
“What do you think?” He asked, his voice sounding sharp as it pierced through the thick silence that had settled over the room.
 “It was—”
 “It was real pretty, kid.”
You yelped in surprise at the sudden voice, jumping up to your feet as Beomgyu practically fell off the desk, nearly dropping his guitar in the process. You helped steady him, and together, you looked towards the door to see that it was wide open, fluorescent light from the hallway spilling into the room as the janitor stood in the entry way, arms crossed over his chest as he blew a bubble with the gum in his mouth.
“If you’re done serenading your girlfriend, would you mind leaving so I can clean up and go home? This building closed an hour ago, but if you both leave now I’ll keep quiet.”
Your cheeks went hot, and you struggled to form words as Beomgyu scrambled to put his guitar back in its case. “Girl—girlfriend? No, we’re not—I mean, I’m not his—we just got stuck and—”
“Thank you, sir. We’re really sorry.” Beomgyu cut you off as he picked up his guitar case with one hand and wrapped his free arm around your shoulders, pulling you into his side. You gasped, but were too stunned to do anything but follow Beomgyu’s lead as he pulled you out of the room.
“What was that about?” You asked once the two of you had safely made it out of the building. “You were not serenading me.”
Beomgyu shrugged, letting his arm fall from your shoulders. Your mouth fell open at his lack of a denial. “Choi Beomgyu! Stop messing around.”
“Who said I was messing around?” He teased, winking at you as he began to walk towards his dorm building, which was on the other side of campus from yours.
You scoffed but said nothing as you watched his back while he walked away from you, trying to piece together what had just happened.
“See you tomorrow, Y/N!” He shouted, turning around as he walked so he could wave goodbye.
You gave him a weak-hearted wave in return, pressing your hands against your flushed cheeks as you slowly began to tread back to your own dorm room.
How strange it was that just that morning, you would have given almost anything to avoid seeing Beomgyu.
But now, you found yourself counting down the minutes left until the next day so you could see him again.
 -
WHEN YOU GOT BACK TO YOUR DORM FROM REHEARSAL THE NEXT EVENING, YOU HAD A TEXT.
Beomgyu: I know we said we were starting over, but I can’t forget that I still owe you a coffee. Meet me at the library in 15?
You felt like an idiot, but you couldn’t stop the grin from taking over your face. Slipping your shoes back on, you typed out a quick reply before slipping out the door.
You: Make it 5. I’ll be waiting.
When you arrived at the library, you were surprised to see that Beomgyu was already there. The line for coffee was very short, as most students had settled into their dorms for the night. Only a few stray overachievers and those that were desperately trying to cram for exams were there, and Beomgyu had claimed a place in line amongst them. He held his guitar in one hand, as per usual, and you wondered if there would ever come a time in which you would see him without it.
“How is it that you demanded to meet me ten minutes earlier than I planned, and I still got here before you?” He asked once you had reached him.
“First of all, I did not demand anything from you,” You said, pushing your fist against his shoulder. “Secondly, that is so unfair, because you know that your dorm is way closer to the library than mine is.”
“Sounds like an excuse to me, but okay. Ah, it’s our turn.” He placed his hand on the small of your back and pulled you closer to the counter. Your stomach flipped, but for some reason, you didn’t mind.
After the two of had gotten your coffees, Beomgyu told you to follow him up the stairs. You expected to stop at the second floor, but to your surprise, he kept leading you. He took you through a door in the back that you didn’t even know existed, where there was another flight of stairs. At the end of these stairs was another door. You stepped outside and found yourself on the rooftop, with a great view of the campus below.
“Are you sure we’re allowed to be up here?” You asked.
“Well, no. But I’ve come up here a lot and never gotten in trouble, so what’s the harm?”
“That does not make me feel any better.”
“Come on, Y/N.” He took your hand in his and brought you over to the wide ledge, big enough for the two of you to sit on without the fear of falling off. “What’s the worst that could happen?”
You paused, eyes growing wide. He stared back at you as he hoisted himself up on the ledge. He took a sip of his coffee before asking, “Why are you staring at me like that?”
You shook your head, setting your coffee beside of him before bringing yourself up to sit on the ledge yourself.
“Nothing,” You said. “You just reminded me of someone.”
“Ah.” He stared at you for a moment longer before he slipped his jacket off and wrapped it around your shoulders. You opened your mouth to protest, but he placed his finger against your parted lips, which was more than enough to shut you up.
“Just accept an act of kindness, would you?” He said, zipping his jacket up over you. You watched him as he did so, noticing the way his chocolate eyes sparkled in the midst of the cloudy night.
You swallowed, averting your gaze. “Thank you.”
“You’re very welcome. That wasn’t so hard, was it?”
It was quiet then, but not in an uncomfortable way. You enjoyed sitting beside of him in the silence, watching the lights of campus below you, feeling the warmth from his jacket spread over your chilled skin.
“Actually, Y/N, there’s something that’s been bothering me,” Beomgyu said, breaking the silence.
You turned to face him, curious. “What is it?”
For the first time since you had met him, Beomgyu looked nervous. He picked at the skin around his nails, doing everything he could to keep his eyes from meeting yours.
“Remember how you asked me if I sang? When we were locked in the orchestra room?” His voice was a bit quieter than it had been before.
 “Yeah, you said you didn’t.”
“Right. Well, that—that was a lie,” He blurted, seeming to regret his words the second they had left his mouth. “Well, not a blatant lie, because I don’t sing anymore. But I used to.”
You were a bit confused, but seeing how nervous he was, you decided not to ask him why he would lie about such a seemingly trivial topic.
“What made you stop?” You asked carefully, not wanting to upset him.
He hesitated, wringing his hands together. After taking a deep breath, he spoke again.
“My father and I used to sing together,” He began. “I taught myself how to play the guitar, but he was the one who taught me how to sing. He loved to sing, more than anything else, and he always told me that I had a brilliant voice. He said it would be a shame to keep such a voice to myself.”
He smiled fondly as he spoke of his father, and you couldn’t help but smile as well. The joy slowly faded from his expression, however, as he began to speak again.
“I lost him two years ago,” He said quietly, voice thick with emotions that caused your heart to clench. “He was in a bad car accident. I was doing really well here, in vocals and guitar. But when I lost him, I just . . . I couldn’t sing anymore. I tried, I really did. I just couldn’t do it.”
“Oh, Beomgyu,” You whispered, gently placing your hand over his trembling one.
“It’s pathetic, isn’t it?” He sniffed, wiping his eyes with the back of his hand. “Singing was the one thing he wanted me to do, and now that he’s gone, I’m failing at it.”
“No, Beomgyu,” You said, your voice firm as you squeezed his hand. “It’s not pathetic at all. You’re doing the best you can, and you’re still here. And most importantly, you tried. That’s what matters.”
He brought his eyes back to yours then, glistening with moisture in the moonless, starless night. He smiled at you then, and you smiled back.
 “Y/N.”
 “Hm?”
“Have I told you yet that you’re really, really beautiful?”
Your breath caught in your throat, and you froze, feeling the blood rush to your cheeks. You were frozen for a moment before you scoffed, pulling your hand away from his and tucking it into your lap.
“I thought you were going to start being more serious,” You mumbled, refusing to look at him. “Stop messing around.”
Then, he moved closer to you, placing one arm behind you while he brought the other to rest against your cheek, gently turning your face towards his. He leaned in, so close that his breath brushed against your skin. He smelled of citrus and vanilla, and you found yourself leaning closer to him.
He glanced at your lips, then met your eyes once again.
“What makes you think I’m not being serious?”
His lips were soft when they pressed against yours, and it felt as though your heart would burst right out of your chest. You allowed your eyes to fall shut as he gently moved his mouth against yours, slowly tucking a piece of hair behind your ear as he did so, before allowing his fingers to gently trace their way along your cheek, then your jaw, until he rested his hand against your neck, pulling you a tiny bit closer to him.
He broke the kiss for a fleeting moment, just to open his eyes so he could look into yours. You liked the flecks of light that beamed in his irises, as though his eyes were made of starlight. He smiled, allowing his nose to brush against yours as his eyes moved back down to your lips. Once again, he closed the distance between you, capturing your lips with his for the second time. He tasted like coffee and cheap cherry chap-stick—and odd combination, but you didn’t mind as you brought your arms around his neck and shifted closer to him, twisting your head to the side as you moved your lips in time with his.
The moment was unexpected, to say the least. But perhaps that was what made it feel that much more magical.
At least, it was magical until you felt scalding hot liquid splash all over the side of your leg, seeping through the fabric of your jeans to burn your skin.
You gasped against Beomgyu’s lips before pulling away, staring wide eyed at your jeans that were now stained with coffee. Your cup, which had been sitting between the two of you, was now knocked on its side, the contents drained.
“Oh my god, I’m so sorry, Y/N,” Beomgyu said frantically. His lips were shining from the aftermath of your kiss, his freckled cheeks and nose red as a cherry. He gently pressed his hands against your leg, pulling them back when you winced from the impact. “Oh god—I’m sorry, I forgot that it was there and I was leaning in and I knocked it over and—”
You laughed at how flustered he had become, amused by this side of him that you hadn’t seen before. You grabbed his face and pulled him towards you, pressing your lips against his in a swift kiss, effectively shutting him up.
“It’s okay, Beomgyu,” You said once you pulled away, letting your hands fall from his face. “I guess you just owe me another coffee.”
The goofy lopsided grin you had grown accustomed to took place of the frightened expression he had worn just moments before. He hopped off the ledge, extending his hand towards you to help you down.
“Come on, partner. Let’s get you cleaned up.”
 -
IT WAS THE DAY OF THE OPEN HOUSE, AND YOU WERE SLIGHTLY UNNERVED BY HOW WELL THINGS WERE GOING.
You had hoped that everything would go smoothly. The past few weeks, you had spent all your time and energy making sure that the event would be as close to perfect as possible.
Well, you had also spent a bit of time with Beomgyu, but only when you had the time to spare, of course.
The performers were all setting up; the drama department was working on setting up the stage props, as they would be going first, and they were busy rehearsing with the orchestra for how they could effectively move the props to make room for the instruments in a timely fashion. Yeonjun was rushing about, directing them with the grace and efficiency only he could pull off.
Everything was going perfectly. You should have just been happy about that, but for some reason, it felt as though you were just waiting for something to go terribly wrong.
“Y/N.” You turned at the sound of Beomgyu’s voice, smiling as he walked towards you. He was dressed in a white button up shirt that he tucked into a pair of black jeans. His sleeves were pushed up a bit, exposing his forearms.
“Everything okay?” You asked once he had reached you. You glanced at the members of the band, who were talking in hushed voices right behind Beomgyu. Your eyes narrowed when you noticed that something was amiss. “Where’s Soobin? Is he on his way?”
Beomgyu sighed, running a hand through his already messy curls. “That’s what I was coming to talk to you about. He’s sick—he won’t be able to make it. I just got a text from him.”
You blinked slowly, trying to process what you had just been told. Soobin was the main vocalist for the band. Without him, or someone to fill his position, there would be no performance.
You quickly walked over to the band, desperately trying to think of something to fix the situation, and Beomgyu was following right behind you.
“Can any of you do lead vocals in Soobin’s place?” You asked.
“No,” the main guitarist said, looking just as stressed out as you were. “We’d have to change the entire key for it to fit my range, and even if we had time to do that—which we don’t—we wouldn’t have any backup vocals.”
You pinched the bridge of your nose, squeezing your eyes shut. “There’s got to be something we can do to replace him. We can’t just take the band performance out.”
 “How about Beomgyu?”
Your eyes flew open at the sound of Yeonjun’s voice, and you whirled around to see him standing behind you.
“When did you get there?” You asked.
“A minute or so ago,” He said, striding forward so that he stood on the other side of you. “But seriously, everyone knows Beomgyu can sing. He used to do it all the time. Why not have him take Soobin’s place?”
“It would make sense,” the guitarist said, his face lighting up with a glint of hope. “He’s been here for all the practices—I mean, he even wrote the song!”
You turned your eyes towards Beomgyu, worry overtaking you in an instant when you saw his expression. All the color had drained from his face, his lips pulled between his teeth. His hands were trembling, and he refused to meet your gaze.
“Beomgyu,” You said quietly, taking his shaky hand in your steady one. “You don’t have to. We can figure something else out—”
“I’ll think about it,” He said, eyes finally finding yours. He did his best to force a smile, but it was so strained, your worry only grew at the sight. “Just . . . can you give me a little while?”
You nodded, squeezing his hand. “Of course.”
He slipped away from you then, disappearing behind the stage. Your eyes followed him until you couldn’t see him any longer, worry creasing your brows.
“What was that about?” Yeonjun asked, stepping a bit closer to you. “I understand not wanting to force anyone to do something last minute, but we don’t really have many options.”
“There’s more to it than that,” You said quietly. “Just trust me, okay? And if he says he can’t do it, he can’t. We are not going to force him to do this.”
Yeonjun still looked confused, but he simply shrugged. “Whatever you say, captain. But just so you know, if he can’t do it, you’re gonna be the one singing in Soobin’s place. And trust me, no one wants to hear that.”
You fought the urge to flip him off as he walked away, wondering why on earth you still kept him around as your best friend.
The rest of the preparations went on, and soon, the audience had begun to fill the auditorium. You hadn’t seen Beomgyu since that moment during rehearsals, and you were beginning to grow worried.
You stood in the right wing of the stage as the show began with the drama department. You tried to focus on the performance—it was amazing, of course, especially since Yeonjun played a lead role in the scene they had chosen. Everyone knew he was an amazing actor. However, rather than being able to enjoy the show, you could only think about where Beomgyu was and wonder if he was doing alright, your stomach twisting itself into knots as the seconds ticked by.
By the time the drama students were finished, the audience standing to clap for their flawless performance, you had bitten your nails down to nubs as you grew increasingly worried. Yeonjun rushed over to you when he left the stage, smiling widely as he stretched his arms out to his sides. “How’d we do?”
“Hm?” You snapped out of your daze, shaking your head as you gave him two thumbs up. “Oh—wonderful. You guys were great. Hey, will you make sure everything goes well with the orchestra? I have to go find Beomgyu.”
“Well why don’t you stay here and I’ll go find him—”
“Nope, I’ve got it! Thanks best friend, you’re the greatest!” You gave him a quick hug before he could say anything else, quickly rushing out of the auditorium. You made your way down a few hallways, taking a couple of turns until you had reached one of the dressing rooms. You knew this was where Beomgyu had been getting ready because his guitar case was propped against the wall outside of it, so you hoped he was still inside.
You knocked on the door. “Beomgyu? Are you in there?”
It was silent, but you heard someone sniffle from behind the door. You sighed, leaning against the wood. “You don’t have to say anything, okay? But just hear me out.”
There was no response, but you could have sworn you felt someone leaning against the door from the other side.
“I know you may feel like you have to pressure yourself to do this, but you don’t,” You said gently. “Nobody is going to be disappointed if you can’t get up there to sing. Not me, not Yeonjun, not the band.”
You paused, biting your lip before you continued. “Your father wouldn’t be upset either, Beomgyu. The fact that you’re willing to even think about doing something this hard just to help out shows just how great of a person you are. He would be so, so proud of you. I’m proud of you, too. Whether or not you get up there and sing tonight, I’m proud of you. Okay?”
You stayed there, waiting in silence for a moment longer before you pushed away from the door, walking back towards the auditorium.
The orchestra was almost finished with their set by the time you returned to the wing. Yeonjun and the band were waiting with anticipation when you returned, eyes wide and searching behind you, probably hoping that Beomgyu was close behind.
 “Is he coming?” Yeonjun asked.
You sighed, shaking your head slowly. “I don’t think so. We’ll just have to call off the band’s performance, but it’ll be okay—”
 “That won’t be necessary.”
You turned at the sound of Beomgyu’s voice, unable to help the big smile that overtook your face. You hurried towards him, grabbing both his hands in your own.
“Are you sure?” You asked. “You know you don’t have to—”
“I know I don’t,” he said with a smile. “But I want to.”
He leaned forward and pressed a quick kiss against your forehead. “Thank you. For everything.”
He went up to talk to the band after that, leaving you a blushing mess. The orchestra had just finished their set and were busy making way for the band. Yeonjun walked to your side as Beomgyu and the rest of the band took their places on the stage.
“Did he just kiss you?” Your best friend asked. For some reason, he didn’t sound surprised.
Dumbfounded, you brought your hand to your forehead and nodded, unable to speak. Yeonjun laughed at you, causing you to snap out of your daze so you could punch him lightly in the shoulder.
Once the band had finished getting ready, Beomgyu cleared his throat, tapping the mic before leaning forward to speak into it.
“Hello everyone, thanks for coming out tonight. My name is Choi Beomgyu, and these lovely people surrounding me are some of the many talented musicians in our music department.” He paused when the audience clapped, waiting until the applause died down before he spoke again. “To wrap up this showcase, we’ll be performing a song I wrote myself. I wrote this about someone I met a long, long time ago.”
He turned his head to the side then, making eye contact with you from the stage. He smiled, not taking his gaze away from yours. He looked heavenly in the light cast from the spotlight, strands of his black hair seeming to turn silver beneath the glow, his golden skin shining brighter than ever. You were sure that if you were close enough, you would see the star-like sparkles in his eyes that you had grown to adore.
“I hope she remembers me, even after all this time.”
“Is he talking about you?” Yeonjun whispered into your ear, noticing the direction of Beomgyu’s stare. “You guys just met like, a month ago.”
You were just as confused as your best friend, so in response, you simply shrugged, unsure of what was going on. He was definitely talking to you, but you had no idea what he was referring to.
“I hope she remembers me, even after all this time.”
You racked your brain, trying desperately to think of what he could mean. Had you met him before? Did he remember you from somewhere, from a memory that had somehow slipped your mind?
The music began to play, and you took a step closer to the stage, eyes narrowed, ready to focus on the lyrics, wanting more than anything to remember what Beomgyu was talking about.
“In moments like those, when tears fill your eyes, hold my hand tight. Should we run away?”
Your eyes went wide. You stumbled back, reaching up to hold your head in your hands.
“Y/N?” Yeonjun’s voice was distant, overpowered by the sound of the honey sweet voice that filled the air. “Y/N, what’s wrong?”
You gasped, hands tangling in your hair as the singing continued.
“Be my forever, call my name. Run away, run away, run away with me.”
Your head was ringing. Not only were these words the same ones you had heard in your head the night you were locked in the classroom with Beomgyu, but the voice—Beomgyu’s voice—was the same one you had heard day and night while growing up.
 It was your soulmates voice.
You knew it was, not just because of the lyrics or the familiarity of the voice. You knew it was your soulmate because you didn’t just hear the words and the notes of the song, you felt them. Every inch of your being felt as though it had been struck by lightning. The voice filled up all of your senses, overpowering you in the most beautiful way imaginable.
But it was too much. His voice coming through the loudspeakers paired with it ringing inside your head built up so much pressure that it caused your vision to blur. You quickly stumbled out of the auditorium, fumbling your way through the front doors that led outside.
You sat down on the pavement, taking deep breaths as your mind began to calm down. No longer overwhelmed by all that was going on around you, you closed your eyes, listening to Beomgyu’s voice as it filled your mind.
“Don’t wanna stay, now we can go. Take me now to the magic named ‘us.’”
With those words, the voice died down, and you were surrounded by silence.
You simply sat there for several moments, your eyes remaining closed as you tried to understand everything that had just happened to you.
 Beomgyu was your soulmate.
Beomgyu was your soulmate, and he was alive.
Bit by bit, you started to piece things together. The night of your thirteenth birthday, the day before you heard his voice for the first time. You had met the boy with sparkling eyes and a lopsided grin in the hotel parking lot. He had offered you his coat, and then his hand.
“I hope she remembers me,” Beomgyu had said.
You smiled to yourself, placing your hand over your heart as it beat fiercely against your chest.
“Yes, Beomgyu. I do remember you.”
 “Y/N!”
Your eyes flew open at the sound of the door being thrown open behind you. You turned to see Beomgyu barreling towards you, practically collapsing to the ground in front of you. He took your face in his hands, eyes frantically searching yours.
“Are you okay?” He asked, his fingers gently running along the length of your cheeks.
You nodded, smiling even though tears began to pool in your eyes. “Beomgyu,” You said quietly, lifting your hands to hold his wrists. “You knew, didn’t you?”
 “Knew what?”
 “That you’re my soulmate.”
He paused, the worry in his face slowly being replaced by a wide, sparkling smile.
“So you finally figured it out, huh?” He said, brushing a strand of your hair back behind your ear. “If you didn’t figure it out after tonight, I wasn’t sure how else I was supposed to show you.”
You laughed, a tear slipping down your cheek as you tightened your grip on his wrists. His expression changed once again, brows knit with concern. “Are—are you crying? What’s wrong?”
“No, nothing, it’s fine,” You assured him, resting your forehead against his. “I’m just happy. I’m so, so happy, Beomgyu.”
He sighed with relief, wrapping his arms around you in a hug, pulling you snugly into his chest. His chin rested on top of your head as you slipped your arms around his middle, pulling him even closer than he already was.
“I was a little worried that you’d be disappointed when you found out it was me,” He said with a light laugh.
You shook your head against his chest, snuggling even closer to him. “Of course not. You’re exactly who I hoped it would be, Choi Beomgyu.”
The two of you stayed like that for a bit longer before Beomgyu pulled away and stood up in front of you.
The boy with stars for eyes and a smile that outshone the moon stretched his hand out towards you, fingers shaking from the cold, cheeks flushed from your embrace.
“Should we run away?” He asked.
This time, you placed your hand in his and let him pull you to your feet.

<Begin Interview log>
SCP-343: [it speaks very curtly] You were not who I expected today. You mask well... "Dr. V⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛".
Dr. V⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛: Thanks for the warm welcome. I would prefer you not say anything about... this.
SCP-343: [seems annoyed] If I do say anything, you know I can ⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛ ⬛⬛ ⬛⬛⬛, right?
Dr. V: I am very aware of what you can do. I still remember.
SCP-343: Of course you do. Answer me this... why on Earth are you even here?
Dr. V: To talk to you, idiot.
SCP-343: [It sighs] Ah, yes, back to the insults. I would have thought ⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛ ⬛ ⬛⬛⬛ would change you, but here we are. [gestures up and around and to Dr. V] Throwing insults like a child.
Dr. V: First of all, ⬛⬛⬛'⬛ ⬛⬛⬛⬛ ⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛ ⬛⬛ ⬛⬛⬛. Second, I only threw one insult. You're being overdramatic.
SCP-343: You're not making this easy for me, ⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛. You'll only make suspicion worse for yourself.
Dr. V: You're the one that brought it up. Why are you calling me ⬛⬛ ⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛ ⬛⬛⬛⬛? Would that not be suspicious in itself?
SCP-343: [long pause] So, where is he?
Dr. V: [Sighs] Changing the subject as usual. He's fine. Don't worry about it.
SCP-343: Your saying, 'don't worry about it,' makes me worry about it. I don't trust your type.
Dr. V: I have no reason to harm someone who ⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛ ⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛ ⬛⬛ ⬛⬛⬛. Plus, you made ⬛⬛ ⬛⬛⬛⬛ ⬛⬛⬛ ⬛⬛.
SCP-343: What do you really want?
Dr. V: [slams his hand down onto the table with a angry sigh] Damn it all, I just want answers.
SCP-343: [Another long pause] You don't need to throw a tantrum like a child. Just ask your questions and leave.
Dr. V: Is there a way to control it?
SCP-343: Vague question, [Dr. V opens his mouth but is silenced with SCP-343's hand] but I know what you're referring to. I feel I've already answered this question, though.
Dr. V: Just answer it again.
SCP-343: [crosses its arms] You're in a precarious position to be making demands, aren't you? You know how easy it would be for me to keep you here long enough for ⬛⬛⬛ ⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛ ⬛⬛ ⬛⬛⬛⬛ ⬛⬛⬛ ⬛⬛⬛? But here I am. Letting you off.
Dr. V: I don't need your threats, 343. Answer the questions so I can leave.
SCP-343: [waves dismissively] whatever. He needs to be more emotionally stable and learn how to... hm... how would I word this... be more sure of his humanity? [mutter under his breath]
Dr. V: [Angrily] You want to repeat that, but louder? Don't call him that shit! He didn't choose to be like that, you have no right to judge him based on what who his parents are!
SCP-343: Extremely protective ⬛⬛⬛⬛ ⬛⬛⬛⬛ ⬛⬛⬛, aren't you?
Dr. V: No shit. He's a good kid, he could do good things.
SCP-343: And bad things, which he has.
Dr. V: Shut the fuck up, he didn't mean to do that. It wasn't his fault.
SCP-343: I've already had this argument with him before. I don't need to hear it again. What's your other questions?
Dr. V: Is there anyway he can be free again?
SCP-343: No. Even if he did get out, they would send Dr. Clef after him... and he wouldn't be brought back alive.
Dr. V: ... alright...
[DATA CORRUPTED]^1
[About this time, Dr. V⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛ is seen exiting his office at Site-19, only wearing a t-shirt and sweatpants. He appears to be incredibly disheveled and is frantically looking around. He then runs down to the nearest desk and speaks quickly with the receptionist who then sounds a alarm of a potential containment breach.]
SCP-343: I feel like you have another question. Those were just lead ups, were they not?
"Dr. V": Don't do that bullshit. My last question- [alarms begin to go off]
SCP-343: [smugly] Better ask it quick, seems you've been found out.
"Dr. V": Where is she? ["Dr. V" stands and starts removing "his" lab coat quickly, then begins taking "his" tie and dress shirt off]
SCP-343: [unfazed] Really now? You ask me that? Do you honestly think I know?
"Dr. V": Well you should know! Please, I'm beginning you. ["Dr. V" throws the clothing onto the chair and steps away.]
SCP-343: I can give you a general location, otherwise I'm blind to that world for the most part. She's in the ⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛ Ring District.
"Dr. V": WHAT?! Oh, fuck! I have to find her, now! Thank you. [The camera shows static for five seconds before clearing up and showing only SCP-343 in the interview room]
SCP-343: Huh... 'thank you'? Didn't expect that. [Security personnel enter the room and look around for "Dr. V"] Oh hello, everyone! Shoot, you guys juuust missed him. We had a wonderful chat though. Don't worry about anything, alright? Everything is fine. [All security personnel relax and begin filtering out of the room and going different ways. SCP-343 is heard sighing tiredly.] I have a lot of work to do now... and here I was, on vacation, but nope! The world never stops. I just have to keep wo-[SCP-343 continues complaining and exits through the wall it originally entered from]

love me some savage haikyuu boys 😈
-
KUROO, TSUKISHIMA AND OIKAWA REACTING TO THEIR S/O BEING BULLIED
-
KUROO
kuroo is a perspective little shit
he analysis’ anything and everything
he isn’t called the scheming captain for nothing
so when he notice’s his s/o feeling down or acting different from normal he will find out what’s bothering them
he’ll ask you first
and if you’re not willing to give clear answers he’ll just find out himself
he doesn't want to overstep privacy boundaries
but if you’re being upset by something he feels like it’s his duty as your boyfriend to sort it out
so one day you’re waiting for him after practice
and you both usually meet outside the gym doors to talk home together
however
this time you’ve unfortunately encountered the people who have been making school life unbearable for you
“look its stupid little y/n!”
“why are you still here? waiting for your boyfriend like some sort of lost dog?”
“i don’t know how he puts up with you”
“so clingy and desperate for support i feel so bad for him”
they have you cornered and you’re outnumbered by far
kuroo has been waiting outside the gym doors for 5 minutes now and is confused
you’re never ever late
so he wanders around looking for you since you aren't answering your phone
now kuroo is annoying but he isn’t stupid
he’s had a hunch about what’s been bothering you lately
he’s noticed a few kids often hang behind class until you leave and they seem to surround you when you’re trying to leave your classroom
he never intervened because he didn’t want to wrongly accuse them of harassing you in case you were friends with them
but you still didn’t look particularly thrilled when you got away from them
so kuroo hears some familiar voices and he heads straight over to them
“don’t cry y/n you don't want to look even more ugly than you already do”
“oh look y/n’s crying they can't even handle a few jokes”
“your boyfriend might even dump you when he sees you”
“the only ones who need dumping are all of you into a pit of fire 🥰”
there stands the 6′2, muscular built, powerhouse school national level volleyball captain with the coldest look he’s ever had
the kids surrounding you are dead silent
“what? nobodies got anything to say now? i thought we were all just laughing and joking with each other so why’d we stop now?”
kuroos eyes soften as soon as they meet yours
he’s grabbed your hand and pulled you tightly into his chest
“i don't think much of a warning needs to be made but let me make this clear just this once because i don't like having to remind people things, come near her, approach, talk about or to her again and you’re going to have a personal problem with me and my team. got it?”
lmfao the little bitches nod trembling and run 🏃🏽‍♀️
kuroo is such a science nerd who makes awful jokes and has the worlds most obnoxious laugh
but he’s also a man and a captain and sometimes it’s easy to forget that
he can pick and choose when and what he wants to be perceived as
and right then he has chosen to show you who he really can be
“why didn’t you tell me angel?”
“i didn’t want to have to bother you”
“oh baby you’re never ever a bother to me. im sorry i couldn't help sooner please never hesitate to tell me if anything like this happens again”
kuroo’s warning sticks with your bullies and they don't bother you anymore
the volleyball team and coach nekomata are throwing dirty ass looks at them too nfjdsbfjs
all in all, kuroo just wants you to know he is there to support you
and he’ll do anything to make sure you’re happy and comfortable
-
TSUKISHIMA
lmao all i’ve got to say to your bullies is good luck
because if tuski finds out you’ve been bullying his s/o
you’re done for
this boy has no mercy
he doesn't even need to physically fight
his words can cut deeper than any knife and he knows it
so when he notices you've been feeling more anxious around school and clinging to him a little more
he grows sus
he’s immediately closing in on who is bothering you and what insults he wants to throw at them
tuski has an exam and it runs a little into lunch
he told you that if it runs over than you can just wait by your classroom and he’d come and get you
however while you’re waiting you have a run in with the students who have been giving you a hard time
just like tuski you’re a student who thrives in academics
so a few of your classmates aren't particularly fond of your constant reign of lead in your class
“ew y/n you gross weirdo why are you here?”
“they’re probably waiting for their boyfriend to come and pick them up”
“such an entitled little shit, waiting to be collected who do you think you are”
so far you’d done pretty well ignoring them
but that was in an environment with many other students who’d call your bullies out if they were to step out of line in class
right now you’re an easy target though
nobody to protect you
well that’s what you thought anyway
you feel your bag get snatched from your hands and thrown to the ground
the bullies are kicking your stuff around laughing while you have no choice but to watch is despair
that's until one of them is tripped up and lands face flat onto the ground
“you think i should kick them around and see if they can take it?”
tuski is standing there with a dark smile on his face
“so brave of you to pick on my y/n when you all have the audacity to look the way you do and don't even get me started on your academics”
“if i were you'd just apologise to your parents now because realistically what are you all going to do in your lives? success doesn't really look like it fits any of you to be honest”
the other students don't even know what to say
they can't exactly say anything
tsukishima is known to have a sharp tongue with an endless flow of direct insults
“it’d be a shame if a teacher were to find out about this wouldn't it. im thinking suspension maybe? perhaps you should all call your parents up right now and apologise for your inevitable suspension”
the bullies look at each other nervously
he couldn’t be serious right
“im waiting”
these kids whip out their phones and are calling their confused parents trying to explain about how they could be suspended
“now off you all go, get out of my sight and don't you dare come near her again”
they be sprinting out the hallways
“you weren’t actually gonna get them suspended were you?”
“it was depending on how fast they called their parents really”
tsukishima is on the floor helping you gather you trashed things
“im annoyed you didn't tell me. don't keep things like this from me yeah? cause not only am i here for you but, i get a kick out of it to. besides, im the only one who gets to be playfully mean to you.”
and he’ll make sure to keep a closer eye on you and keep you around him for a little longer just till he’s certain you’ve been left alone
OIKAWA
fangirls
the absolute bane of his existence
oikawa appreciated the support but it was overbearing sometimes
especially when he just wants to spend time with his precious y/n-chan
in front of him, his fangirls would be so polite and supportive
“you and y/n look so good together”
“i hope you’re treating them well”
“oikawa is is lucky”
but behind his back these girls were nothing but vicious and spiteful towards you
you knew you’d have to deal with his fangirls at some point
you’d decided to keep your relationship hidden for the first few months until oikawa suggested going public and you felt like you couldn’t say no
you’d hear comments as you walked through the halls
classes would’ve been a nightmare if iwaizumi wasn’t in your class
he knew you were struggling with oikawa’s fangirls but you pleaded him not to say anything to his best friend
iwaizumi didn't exactly want to keep this from oikawa but he also didn't want to go against your wishes
you compromised instead and told iwaizumi about everything the fangirls put you through and sometimes he’d even take it lightly into his own hand
despite the fact you had oikawa’s best friend looking out for you, this was also a reason the bullying got worse
“you think you can get iwaizumi to back you up now? you want the whole team or what?”
yes
“stop being so overdramatic oikawa shouldn’t have to put up with someone as fragile as you”
“he can do so much better did you manifest or do witchcraft to get him to date you?”
the comments had become so common to you they started to have no effect
you slowly became more and more emotionally unavailable and this was something oikawa had started to pick up on
“y/n-chan you’ve stopped smiling at me so much. have i upset you?”
at first he’d think he did something wrong and he’d desperatly rack his brain for anything he could’ve done to offend you
“no you haven’t tooru i’ve just been tired lately”
you’d lie and give him a small fake smile
but oikawa has given enough fake smiles in his life and is more than capable of being able to tell a real smile to a fake one
like kuroo though, he wouldn’t want to push any privacy boundaries and can only hope you’d open up to him soon
it doesn’t mean he’s not going to be watching you even closer now
he’ll ask iwaizumi whether he’s seen a change in your behaviour
iwaizumi has finally decided this has gone too far
“idiot do you not see it’s your shitty fangirls that are making them miserable?”
“my fangirls?”
“yes your fangirls. y/n can’t catch a break with them around they’re really nasty to her and i don’t know how it’s taken you so long to see”
now that oikawa thinks about it you do cling to him a little tighter when they’re around
you don’t thank them for their ‘compliments’ about your relationship with the setter
you go extremely quiet and anxious when they’re around
oikawa had just thought it was nerves from sudden attention
he didn’t realise they had been secretly harassing you
so oikawa goes to wait outside your locker when the day ends
“tooru shouldn't you be at practice?”
“come with me” he says sternly but he’s giving you a reassuring look as he grips your hand securely in his larger one
he walks you quickly through the halls and round to the entrance of the gym where his fangirls are usually waiting for practice to start
“oikawa-san! why aren’t you in uniform? is practice cancelled?”
“oh y/n is here... that's cute”
oikawa is beyond livid just from their presence alone
they even had the nerve to say your name?
“you know what isn’t fucking cute though? your disgusting behaviour”
the fangirls are look between each other innocently
“what do you mean oikawa-san?”
“don’t play oblivious with me you bitches! what was going through your heads when you all thought it was okay to harass MY y/n-chan?!”
the girls are silent now
oikawa is usually so charming and relaxed
nobody sees him worked up outside the court
“there’s a reason none of you have even been allowed to be considered to have the chance to get to know me, you’re all fake. every single one of you. i hate fake people more than anything. this behaviour is gross i want none of you associated with me get out of here and if i hear one more thing about anyone upsetting y/n hell will be broken loose and that won’t just be from me.”
oikawa did not stutter 😌
king
the girls leave immediately
“i think you’ve just lost yourself your whole fan club”
“oh y/n they were never fans if they have the nerve to upset someone they know i love. why didn’t you tell me i would’ve said something sooner”
“i just didn't want to upset you about your fans”
“you’re always going to be the first priority to me always if they or anyone else ever bothers you again, promise you’ll tell me straight away?”
“promise.”
after that he’ll take you to sit on the bench on the side of the court so you can watch him play and he can keep an eye on you
yeah oikawa may seem like a carefree people pleaser
but if you’re upsetting his s/o, you’ll be experiencing the side he tries to keep under control and he won’t be afraid to let loose.

“I’m doing this for you!”
Warnings: Mentions of death and war
Pairing: Sirius Black x PotterSister!Reader
Words: 2.2k
Summary: James forbids his reader from going on an undercover mission for his sister
(More angst for you all!)
Tumblr media
“Absolutely not.”
“It’s not up to you, James,” you argued.
“Like hell it is! You’re my little sister, and I forbid it.”
“James, perhaps if you’ve for once decided not to speak out of your arsehole, then we could continue. But I must insist, that this decision was not, and is not yours to make, entirely so.”
From where you sat, your older brother leaned against the kitchen counter. His arm crossed against his body and the other against his chin in frustration. The walls of his hidden away home were quiet as the Potter twins separated into the kitchen to speak amongst themselves as siblings.
He squinted his eyes, cleaning his glasses on the bottom of his cotton shirt before replying.“And if not mine, then whose decision?”
“It’s my own. It’s my decision.”
“You cannot! It’s... it’s not even debatable.”
“James,” you said sternly, “this is happening.”
James looked at his sister, only younger by several minutes, and yet still saw you as a child.“Don’t you understand it is dangerous? More dangerous than you could ever understand?” he wanted to take you by the shoulders and shake you vigorously.
“As if I were even slightly unaware of the dangers of this,” you said sarcastically.
“And yet you are still stupid enough to agree to it?” James slipped his glasses back on with shaky fingers.
“Stupid? You’ve always been overprotective, but now this is just bordering abusive.” you lightly joked, hoping to see a smile reach across his face to mirror yours. Your smile dropped when you noticed his grave expression, pale to the skin.
“James-”
“I’m delighted you can joke about it, the idea of dying a grizzly, cruel death.
”You groaned at his overdramatic stature, “You’re overreacting.”
“Am I? Y/N, you seem to be underreacting. This, this mission, this undercover assignment is mental, it’s practically a death wish.”
“I’m a skilled witch, I know what I’m doing.”
“I’m not arguing you’re not phenomenal at duels, but this is much different then Defense Against the Dark Arts class, Y/N.”
You thought back to your conversation with Dumbledore. He had admitted to a close group of the Order that they were in dire need of Death Eater intel. Most of the people he had told refused considering the danger it’d put themselves and their family, however, he turned to you, the youngest Potter to take up the responsibility of joining the inside ranks of Lord Voldemort. You agreed quickly, understanding the current losing position of the Order. It was telling James that was more difficult than ever.
“Do you not understand?” James asked sharply.
“Of course I do, James. But, it’s my responsibility.”
“It’s selfish, is what it is.”
“What!?” you exclaimed.
“You’re willing to risk your life, for what? What about us? Your family?”
“I’m doing this for you!” you shouted angrily. The door creaked open slightly, showing Lily’s figure holding tiny baby Harry in her arms.
“I’m sorry to interrupt, I’m putting Harry to bed and thought he would want to say goodnight to his favorite aunt.” You stood to meet her, gathering your nephew in your arms. “Is everything alright?” she looked worriedly to her husband and to her sister in law.
“Yes.”
“No.” the two of you said at the same time.
“I’m sorry, Prune, your father seems to be more of a prick today than usual,” you cooed to Harry who seemed to grow every day. You gave your nephew the nickname Prune after his birth when you noticed how wrinkled he was, like a dried prune fruit. You held Harry close, reminding yourself why this mission was of extreme importance. You were doing it to create a world for Harry to live in, a world that was safe from prejudice and violence. James whispered a soft goodnight and kissed his forehead, handing Harry back to his mother. She glanced between the Potter twins.
“Sirius and I will be in the living room,” you nodded in response as the kitchen door shut behind her.
“James, please.”
“I just don’t understand. I don’t understand why you would agree to this?”
“That’s the problem without a key or an answer. You wouldn’t understand, even if you were me, James, you’d never understand.”
James bit his lip and narrowed his eyes, “Explain it to me then, because it is rather unfathomable to understand why you’d go through such great lengths to ensure your own death in the unfortunate and probable circumstance that anyone finds out you’re a spy.”
“Fine then. For Harry.”
“Harry?” he asked confused, “What do you mean?”
“I’m doing this for Harry. You wouldn’t understand because he is your son, it is your job to stay here, in your home with your wife and protect your family here. It is my job to go out and protect your family from out here.” You said after taking a deep breath, “And, if I die, then at least I die trying to protect my own blood, my nephew. And that’s as good as any reason there is.”
“Y/N...”
“Don’t you see? It is not up to me, or you, it is about Harry. It is about winning the war. It’s about ensuring his safety, you know what the prophecy says about his birth! Sacrifices come in all shapes and forms, James. The entirety of this secret home is a sacrifice in itself. I just wish you could understand.”
“Right, well. What about us?” James asked firmly, “What about us? What happens if you die? What about us? Me? Harry? Sirius?”
“I expect you’ll understand the reasoning behind my death, then.”
“But I won’t! All I’ll even comprehend is the fact that my baby sister is dead and it’d be her own fault!”
“It’s not confirmed I actually will die, have you already picked out my casket then?” you said sarcastically once again making James roll his eyes in complete frustration.
“Yes, well, it may as well be in writing.”
You looked to the ceiling as if searching for guidance in this conversation. “If the roles were reversed if I had just had a child with Sirius, would you stay behind closed doors during this mission? Or would you go?”
“Yes, but that’s different-”
“How?!”
“Because I can’t lose you too!” James snapped making your heart drop. Just barely a year ago, your parents had passed away due to nasty Dragon Pox. Though it seemed to hit you harder, losing your parents, but James? He always placed himself as the protector, the brother, and he had never fully expressed his sadness but rather tended to your broken cries. He’d much rather focus on his friends and his growing son than the ache of losing his parents, but the idea of losing his sister? He could barely process the idea without being in utter agony.
“James...”“
Y/N, Dumbledore can find someone else to take your place. Stay here, we can set up the living room for you. I can’t lose my sister too.”
You swallowed back a lump in your throat and encouraged your tears to burrow back in your eyes in “I can’t do that. I leave tomorrow morning before dawn.”
“Y/N...” James nearly cried.
“I’m sorry,” you whispered.
“I’ll come with you.”
“You can’t do that, James. Not with Harry and Lily. Not with the target on your back. You know that.”
“But what if you fail?”
“What if I succeed?”
James swallowed and hurried to wipe his tears of worry, “You’ll come back?”
“I’ll try my hardest to.”
“I mean it, Y/N. You come back or I swear I’ll put dung bombs in your bed again.”
You sent him a sad smile, “I’ll try, James.”
James pushed himself off of the counter and entrapped you in a brotherly hug. He placed his chin on the top of your head, already missing his twin more than anything.
“Did you remember to pack panties?” he joked in a high pitched voice making you snort. That was something your mother used to ask before every family trip they took in the summer up to northern England. It was nice to hear it once again, maybe for the last time.
“I love you,” you said seriously.
“I love you too, now. Well. Go kick ass and make the Potters proud.”
You sent James a grateful smile before exiting to the living room. You passed Lily who gave you a knowing look and entered the kitchen, likely to convene with her husband. Sirius sat facing away from you, looking deep into the embers of the fireplace.
“Sirius?”
“I can’t believe you’re leaving.”
“Not you too!” you laughed,
“‘ve just convinced James now ‘ve got to convince you? Seems like you lot have already planned my funeral and everything.”
“Don’t say that. Don’t say funeral. You’re not going to die.”
“I hope not.” you sat on the arm rest where Sirius sat. Playing with the hair on the back of his neck, he shuddered under your touch.
“As much as I hate to disagree with James, I do understand.” Sirius huffed lightly.
“It’s a duty that we signed up for when joining the Order. And now, with Lord Voldemort and the whispers of a traitor in our ranks?”
“I know.” Sirius turned, holding your soft hand in his and placing his other on your thigh. “Will you at least promise me one thing?”
“Anything.”
“Will you marry me when you come back?”
You beamed through wet tears, breathing deeply, “I will marry you if I come back.”
“No,” you stopped, Sirius looked at you with a firm look, “When you come back, you will marry me.”
“When I come back, I will marry you.” You repeated before placing a loving kiss on Sirius’ lips. He brushed your tears away and kissed your cheeks and then your lips. He whispered words of love and courage to you.
That night was spent in front of the fire in the Potter home. There was a comfortable silence that settled into the bones and veins of each and every one of you, neither words were spoken but only small murmurs. And when the morning arose, you placed a confident smile on your lips and hugged your loved ones goodbye, giving Harry a gentle squeeze on his fat newborn arm. As you apparated away, James and Sirius both let out a heavy sigh.
“She’ll be alright,” Lily assured, rubbing James’ back.“I think so,” Sirius clenched his jaw, already missing you immensely.
As days, weeks, and months passed, you were barely able to send letters to Dumbledore nevertheless to Sirius. But, when they did receive letters, they were short and written in a hurry.
“All okay, don’t worry. Love you.”
“Easier said than done, missing you.”
“Awful people. Awful acceptance.”
“Dark mark. Love you always.”
It was only until Dumbledore told the Order that you had successfully infiltrated the Death Eaters in London. You had received classified information and had relayed it to Dumbledore meaning your homecoming would be within the next few weeks. James felt rejoiced in the idea of his sister coming home and nearly bounced across the walls. Lily noticed her husband was nearly going pale with worry each and every day you were gone, but the minute he heard of your future return, and excited redness returned and she sighed in relief. Sirius, with James’ help, purchased a ring they thought you’d rather enjoy cementing the engagement beyond just words. Sirius was nervous but mostly excited to be able to safely hold you in his arms without his horrifying imagination placing you in a dungeon being tortured somewhere. The day of your arrival, Sirius and James rocked back on their heels anxiously, constantly looking towards the fireplace for a floo.
“How about I put the kettle on, yeah? I’m sure she won’t be arriving till later this afternoon,” Lily bit back the nervousness and frightened feeling she had felt. Past five in the evening, nearly time for supper, James was already writing a letter to Dumbledore asking for sister’s return. He moved to the kitchen to open the window and place the letter in his owl’s mouth. His ears perked up at the noise of the floo explosion going off and raced to the living room.
“Blimey, thought you’d never get here!” He looked around the room to see his wife with her hand on her mouth in shock and his best friend on his knees on the floor. He shifted to look at Dumbledore who had just floo’d in.
“What’s going on? Where’s my sister?”He cleared his throat and sighed with a heavy frown. Upon hearing the news, James thought he’d nearly pass out. Maybe he did. Because he couldn’t remember sitting down on the living room couch. Sirius shook vigorously, the feeling of sudden grief and sorrowful stricken emotions that took over. Dumbledore repeated himself again. You were coming home, nearly two blocks away from the Order headquarters and more than a few blocks from the Potter home, when you were ambushed. Sirius found himself needing to throw up, but swallowed his bile. Death Eaters, who were earlier informed by a traitor that you were working for the Order, took you, tortured you, and killed you. Nothing was left but the broken and beaten body that was dropped off at the steps of headquarters. You were so close, you were so close to being home, to being safe.

The Savior - Chapter 35 (End)
Tumblr media
Summary: Negan and Y/N settle into a life of peace and happiness while being together with their family after all the obstacles they overcame to be together.
Characters: Negan, Reader (OC), Asher, Sherry, etc.
Warnings: Swearing & Fluff
AO3 Link: https://archiveofourown.org/works/11995341/chapters/70485267
Notes: This is the ending of the story. I just want to thank everyone so much for reading it. I have such a hard time saying goodbye to things and truthfully this was my favorite Negan that I wrote. So ending this was incredibly hard for me. I hope you enjoyed this story. I also want to thank @queenwinterz @abadamn & @insertneganhere for helping me create a name for a character in this.
Three Years Later
Stretching out in the comfort of her bed, Y/N let out a big yawn and felt the rays of the sunshine filtering through the blinds that covered the windows to her bedroom with Negan. It felt like for the first time in a very long time she was able to have a very solid night of sleep where she woke up feeling completely refreshed.
An uncontrollable smile pressed in over her lips when she thought about life. If someone would have asked her years ago if she would have seen herself actually waking up happy…she would have told them they were crazy, but Y/N appreciated life. She loved the people in her life and cherished every moment she had.
Slowly rolling onto her side, she expected to find Negan beside her, but let out a confused breath when she discovered him missing from his spot. Reaching out she caressed her hand in over the side of his bed. The bed beside her was cold and told her that he had been gone for a while. How did she sleep through that? These days with having a toddler, it was pretty hard for her to sleep through anything.
Looking over her shoulder at the clock on her side of the bed, she could see that it was hours after she would normally wake up and a shocked breath fell from her throat. Sitting up in bed, she pulled the sheets with her and reached for her phone. How did she sleep through all of her alarms like this?
Looking through her phone she saw that her alarms were turned off and assumed that meant that Negan turned them off for her while she was sleeping. She must have really been out cold for her not to notice that.
“Shit,” she cussed to herself, getting up from the bed and getting her clothes on for the day. She did it rather quickly knowing there were so many things she had to get done before going to class today.
When she made it downstairs, she heard laughing and giggling in the kitchen making a smile immediately develop over her face. Heading toward the kitchen, she stopped in the entrance way to see Negan feeding their daughter her breakfast at the table. Negan was making silly sounds and doing dramatic faces in order to get her to eat her food. The overdramatic motions made Y/N laugh and it drew both Negan and her daughter’s attention to her.
“Good morning mama,” Negan boasted with an over-the-top, happy smile, “Charlie and I were wondering when you were going to wake up.”
“Morning mama,” Charlie waved to Y/N from her seat before reaching for the spoon that Negan had been using to feed her. Charlie raised the spoon up to Negan and giggled when Negan groaned. “Eat.”
“Charlotte Rose, daddy is not hungry. This is your food,” Negan responded with a snort when she lifted the spoon up further and he opened his mouth to accept the applesauce that she was offering him. “Mmm…that’s good.”
“More,” Charlie got another spoonful and Negan let out a small huff as she raised it to his lips again and he took another bite. “Good daddy.”
“Thank you, sweetheart,” Negan snickered when Y/N moved into the kitchen to press a loving kiss over Charlie’s temple before moving to Negan to lean in to meet his lips in a tender caress. The sound of Negan humming was heard when she pulled away and a big smile flooded Negan’s face. “Good morning to you too.”
“Why didn’t you wake me up?” Y/N questioned while moving toward the fridge to get things ready for everyone’s lunch today. Opening the fridge, she saw that there were already things on the shelves packed and she looked over her shoulder at Negan who was watching her. “You already made the lunches.”
“Well I am a good daddy sweetheart. I know how to make lunch for my girls and my little man,” Negan reminded her with a bit of a shrug. A gasp fell from Negan’s throat when he felt the splash of some of the applesauce across the side of his face making Y/N snort when she realized Charlie flung her food at Negan. “Charlie.”
“Oops,” Charlie’s smile looked almost exactly like Negan’s when he was getting in trouble. Her dimples sucked in and her bright green hazel-eyes were extremely mischievous.
“Oops? Oops?” Negan laughed watching his daughter burst out in laughter and reached out to begin to tickle at her sides. Y/N couldn’t help but laugh while she watched the two of them playing together. The way Negan could make their daughter laugh with such delight made Y/N realize every day why she fell in love with Negan over and over again. Charlie’s laughter grew when Negan started to pepper kisses over her face and Charlie grabbed a tight hold of Negan’s hair. “I’m gonna get you.”
“No…daddy…no…” she continued to giggle and Negan pulled back enough to stare out at her with an amused expression. After a minute she reached out to him again clearly wanting him to tickle her again making him laugh out loud.
“Oh, so you actually like that, huh?” Negan repeated his earlier movements in pressing kisses over his daughter’s face while tickling her and he absolutely loved waking up every day to be with his kids and wife. It was the little moments like these that were special to him and he never knew he could love something like he did his children. The giggles from his daughter and Y/N filled the air making Negan honestly the happiest man on Earth. “I love you so much baby girl.”
“I love you,” Charlie’s little voice filled the air and Y/N watched her daughter cup the sides of Negan’s face to play with the short beard over his face. Stilling himself, Negan allowed his daughter to look over his face and he always found himself impressed with how perceptive she was of everything.
“You are so beautiful,” Negan muttered in awe of his daughter making her smile widely. “Mommy and daddy are so lucky to have you.”
“Thank you,” Charlie responded with a tiny laugh. Reaching for her spoon, she handed it back to Negan to continue to feed her breakfast to her. “Hungry.”
“Daddy looks hungry too,” Y/N grabbed a napkin and moved in beside Negan. Sliding her palm in underneath his chiseled jaw, she made him look up at her while she wiped the applesauce from his face. “He needs to be not so messy when he eats.”
“Daddy’s messy,” Charlie muttered making Negan snort when she said it. “Very messy.”
“Daddy is the cleanest one in the house,” he grunted, reaching out to tickle at Y/N’s ribs and she stumbled back away from him with a laugh. “I think mommy is ticklish Charlie. What about you?”
“Very!” Charlie nodded with an amused breath, reaching for the spoon to try and get Negan to feed her again. “Please?”
“Aw, anything for you baby girl. You are so sweet,” Negan pressed a big kiss against Charlie’s cheek and it caused her to giggle when he did it. “You remind me so much of your mama. You know that? You’re so sweet and adorable.”
“But she reminds me so much of you when she’s cranky,” Y/N spoke up with a smile and Negan released an amused breath. “Pretty sure the reason she keeps saying the s-word is because of you.”
“Oh, undoubtedly. It’s my kid, she’s going to swear,” Negan agreed with her before making a silly noise when he went to feed Charlie again. “Although, I do think when she’s grumpy there is a little bit of you in there.”
“The cute bit?” she teased and Negan laughed at her response.
“Yes, the cute bit,” Negan shrugged his shoulders, accepting defeat in that situation because Y/N got one of up on him with that.
“I’m going to gather all my work for classes,” Y/N stepped forward to press another kiss over Charlie’s forehead before moving back. “I left it all over the desk last night after I was done working.”
“Honey,” Negan called out when she headed for the entrance of the kitchen to go pick up her things for her classes. When she gave him her attention again, Negan nodded toward the corner of the room to show that her bag was already sitting on the chair. “I already put everything away for you this morning.”
“Wow,” she paused finding herself confused at what to do now that Negan had everything done. “What am I supposed to do? You’ve done it all by letting me sleep in.”
“Relax,” Negan suggested nodding his head to the seat that was across from him by Charlie at the table. “Daddy and Charlie let mama sleep so she could relax for once. That was the whole point. I was going to let you sleep until you had to be ready for classes. Daddy can handle lots of things you know. He likes taking care of his family.”
“You’re incredible,” Y/N moved in beside Negan to brush her fingers through his thick hair. Lowering, she pressed a kiss over his head and moved to the seat that was beside Charlie. “What would we do without you?”
“Now that’s a situation I never want to imagine,” Negan made a gasping noise when he brought the spoon to Charlie’s mouth again. “Isn’t that right baby?”
“Right,” Charlie repeated what Negan said and Y/N found herself smiling over how innocent their daughter was. She’d probably go with whatever Negan said. She was definitely a daddy’s little girl and that was obvious. When Negan brought another spoonful of food to her lips, she happily accepted. “Thank you, daddy.”
“You’re welcome baby girl,” Negan winked and continued to scoop together the rest of her breakfast. “With the plans for today honey, I’m going to take her to practice with me and then when you are done with classes, you will come and pick her up, right?”
“Absolutely,” Y/N reached out to brush her fingers through Charlie’s hair, admiring her daughter’s dimples when she smiled and looked back at Negan. “Are you sure they are okay with you bringing her to work? We could always find someone to watch her on the days I have classes.”
“Are you kidding me? Everyone loves her,” Negan responded with an overdramatic sound while setting the spoon in the empty bowl after they finished up the applesauce. Negan reached out to grab at Charlie’s hands, wiggling them while he played with her. “They just think she’s the cutest, don’t they?”
“Well, they aren’t wrong,” Y/N stated watching Negan playing with their daughter and she felt like the luckiest woman alive. He was so good with their children and it made her happy seeing him interacting with them. It was clear that the thing Negan loved the most in the world was being a father. “She is the cutest.”
“That is absolutely the truth,” Negan reached out to pull Charlie into his arms and Y/N scoot forward to play with Charlie.
“I just don’t want you to get in trouble for bringing her to work,” she muttered while Negan bounced Charlie on his knee and Y/N played with Charlie’s hands.
“Are you kidding me? She’s like a magnet to everyone I work with. On the days I do bring her people are coming to see her and bringing her things,” Negan informed her, the bridge of his nose wrinkling when he thought about all the times he had brought Charlie with him in the past. “They fucking love her. Well except some of the boys. When daddy gets mad that they are doing bad, Charlie does a killer spot on impression of her father angry. She may not be able to say what I’m saying, but the glare…that glare gets their asses in gear.”
“Negan,” Y/N raised her eyes to his and couldn’t help laughing. Negan never pretended to try to be someone else with his mouth, but she really couldn’t judge him. He was an incredible man and she couldn’t have asked for a better husband or father to her children.
“I’m only speaking the truth,” Negan reminded her with a cock of his head before leaning down to press a kiss against the side of Charlie’s cheek. “I just put her in the toddler carrier that straps to my chest and she likes the front row seat. Baby girl is going to be heavily into sports. She already is.”
“I think she’s just into whatever her daddy likes, isn’t that right?” Y/N spoke in a higher voice while talking to Charlie and she could hear Charlie laugh.
“Yeah,” Charlie squealed with delight when both her parents kissed at her cheeks making her fall back into Negan’s chest while he held onto her. “I love you.”
“We love you too sweetheart,” Y/N answered, reaching out to stroke over the side of Charlie’s face. Thinking back to when she was pregnant, Y/N had been so scared and worried about how life was going to be, but it was all for nothing in the end. There was no reason for her to really worry. They made everything work and it was easier than she ever pictured it being. They were happy. All of them and it was everything she could have hoped for and more.
“Oh, you also don’t have to pick Asher up after school today. Sherry is getting him so she can take him to lunch,” Negan informed her and Y/N let out a saddened breath. “What?”
“Well if I would have known that, I would have woken up to see him Negan,” she frowned at the news he gave her and he snickered. “Seriously. I would have rather seen Asher this morning to say goodbye. I feel bad now.”
“Baby, he’s going to be with us after dinner,” Negan pointed out, amused with her disappointment in not getting to say goodbye to Asher when Negan took him to school this morning. “You were so exhausted. You worked all night on your work for your classes. The kids and I could see it. Asher especially could see it. When I suggested us letting you sleep in, he was behind it. Sometimes you need to get some rest babe so you can continue to be the best mama possible to these rascals.”
“I just feel bad waking up late,” she sighed, brushing Charlie’s hair out of her face. “I worry it makes me a bad mother.”
“Well daddy woke you up early during the middle of the night, so if you want to blame him…that’s fine,” a wicked smirk pressed in over Negan’s features and she rolled her eyes at his comment. It made her cheeks flush over and Negan snorted when she reacted to his bluntness. “Seriously babe, it’s okay. You need to sleep sometimes too.”
“I know, I just like to see the kids every morning,” she informed him and Negan reached out with his right hand after securely wrapping his arm around Charlie to keep her safe. Stroking the side of Y/N’s face, Negan was in awe of his wife and how sweet she was. “I want them to know I love them.”
“They both know. If they didn’t, the thousand times a day you tell them probably reminds them,” Negan grinned, his eyes hooked on hers while thinking about their family. “If there is one thing these kids know, it’s that they are loved. There is never going to be a doubt in that.”
“Alright. So, I’ll get my classes done and come pick up Charlie,” Y/N lowered her gaze to see that Charlie was tracing her fingers over Negan’s arm where his tattoos were. Tilting her head to the side, Y/N saw that she was playing with the rose tattoo that he had on his arm. Originally it was dedicated to Y/N, but after they had their daughter and decided to name her Charlotte Rose, Negan added her name in there too. After having Charlie, Negan had gotten multiple tattoos in dedication to their daughter as well as a few on his body for Asher. It was odd, but his way of expressing his love was through his tattoos and at first when Y/N was young, she didn’t get it, but now she thought it was sweet. By now she had a few herself, but never got something quite as extensive as Negan did. “After that Charlie and I will get dinner ready for when you get home after practice.”
“Sounds good baby,” Negan slowly stood from the chair and pulled Charlie with him. “We’ll miss you.”
“Mmm, I always miss the both of you when I’m not with you,” she hummed when Negan leaned down enough to meet her lips in a kiss. Drawing out the kiss, she reached for Charlie from Negan’s arms and pulled her daughter close to her chest. “Just one suggestion before you go to work sweetheart…”
“What’s that?” Negan’s eyebrow arched in curiosity as she lowered her finger to point at Negan’s shirt that he was wearing.
“She didn’t just get your face with the applesauce,” Y/N finally spotted the food that their daughter had managed to splatter across Negan’s shirt. “You should probably get that.”
“Oh,” Negan reached for the bottom of his shirt and pulled the material from his slender body. “Thanks for telling me that before we took Honey and Bear for a walk.”
“What? You don’t want the dogs knocking you over?” Y/N heard one of the collars jangle from the living room when Negan had said the dogs’ names.
“Hey there Bear,” Negan lowered down to his knees when one of their German Shepherds came into the kitchen to be with them. Kneeling down, Negan reached to pet over the dog’s ears and leaned in to press a big kiss over its head. “You have no idea how ridiculous I feel saying honey bear all the time. I wish Asher would have come up with something not so…”
“Sweet?” Y/N cut Negan off mid-sentence and she felt Charlie reaching her hands out toward Bear. Lowering down with Negan, Y/N let Charlie stand on her feet before Charlie moved across to wrap her arms around their dog to give it a hug. They were very lucky that they had two incredibly good dogs that Negan seemed to also train amazingly. Before the baby was born, Asher had begged for a dog so naturally when they had gone to pick one out, they had come back with two when the owner mentioned people not wanting the runt. Bear was that runt. Negan was always one for a sob story, but it was nice to have two loving dogs that were ridiculously protective and loving of their children. “I think he heard you call me that once and he got the idea from you.”
“Yeah, but it should be something like Maximus and Apollo,” Negan rambled waving his hand in the air while the other still pet Bear. “But nah, every morning I’m standing at the back door calling for Honey Bear when we have two German Shepherds.”
“I like it,” Charlie lifted her head to give her father a pout. “Bear and Honey.”
“You tell him,” Y/N playfully cheered on her daughter while reaching out to wrap her arms around Charlie’s little waist. “Where is Honey?”
“I imagine sleeping on the couch,” Negan popped his head out of the kitchen to look on the couch to see their other dog’s head immediately lift when Negan saw it laying on the couch. “Yup, eating up the couch space. You lazy goof.”
Following Negan out of the kitchen and toward the laundry room with Charlie in Y/N’s arm, Y/N knew even though they had gotten used to this schedule it was always hard for her to leave Charlie to go to classes. Sighing, she leaned against the doorframe and felt Bear sit at her side while Negan searched for a shirt from the dryer.
“I hate leaving you guys,” she muttered hearing Charlie talking to the dog in words that she couldn’t quite put together yet, but it was cute hearing her interact with Bear out of excitement.
“Of course we hate being apart, but mama has to finish her classes so she can be happy and do the things she has always wanted while the family is here to back her with everything she does,” Negan lifted his head enough to give her a bright smile. “And we’re all very proud of you.”
“Aw, you’re sweet,” she sighed while he pulled a quick t-shirt on. “I love you; you know that?”
“Mmmm…the feeling is mutual sweetheart,” Negan hummed and moved in to give her another kiss before reaching for Charlie from her arms. “Baby girl and I need to walk the pups before I go to work and you need to get ready for class.”
“I know,” Y/N frowned while giving her daughter one last kiss goodbye. “I will see the both of you in a bit. I love you both.”
“We love you too mama,” Negan winked and followed her through the house while she gathered her things. When she left, Negan and Charlie stood at the door waving goodbye to her. She felt like the luckiest woman in the world having a family she loved and they loved her too.
Never in her life did she think she would be this happy and love someone as much as she did, but she did. Life was good and she was happier than she could have pictured herself being.
----
After finishing her classes, Y/N moved through the hallways of the college that both her and Negan were at. Since Negan was a professor at the college, it only made sense that she would take classes there as well which turned out helping them in the long run. It was easier to run a family like that. Being in the same place at once always made things easier for them. It was also nice being in school here because while she had friends, no one really gave a shit that she was married to the coach. Then again, here…people didn’t know them so they weren’t caught up in the drama of it.
When people back home had found out that they were married, they heard about the rumors that people had thrown around, but they didn’t care. They were gone and threw everyone from that point in their life out of it. Other than Simon of course. He had always been in their corner and always would be. Negan had made Simon the godfather to Charlie and Simon took the title seriously. Often, he would make trips with his family to come and see them so he was one person they welcomed back with open arms.
At one point when Charlie was born, Y/N’s mother had contacted her to try to ask to meet Charlie. It had led to her mother coming out with Y/N’s father unexpectedly to meet Charlie. Of course, it led to a huge lecture from her parents and her father got very lippy. Negan could only take so much of it before interjecting himself and since that day she had never seen her father again, but it was something she was completely okay with. She still allowed her mother to come and see Charlie, but her father wasn’t allowed at the house for obvious reasons and Y/N’s mother learned to accept them. While her father was a complete asshole that she had written out of her life, Y/N decided to give her mother a chance much like Negan had done with his.
Getting outside of the school, Y/N headed toward the baseball diamond and could see the team practicing. Surveying the area, she looked for Negan and could see that he was standing behind the fence. Watching from where she was, Y/N could see that Negan was talking to Charlie while holding her in one of his arms. They both were wearing a baseball cap for the college and it made her smile. It was clear that Negan was talking to Charlie about what was happening on the field while he pointed to things and it strangely seemed like Charlie was in fact listening to him while he talked to her.
Cherishing the sight for a moment, she just loved seeing Negan with the kids. Taking her time to watch them together was an incredible thing for her to remember. The bond Negan had with their children truly warned her to the core. After some time, she moved toward Negan with Charlie where they were behind home plate. Once Charlie saw Y/N, Charlie immediately reached her hands out to her and Negan looked over his shoulder to see Y/N approaching.
“Mama,” Charlie boasted hopping to Y/N’s arms from Negan’s grasp and Y/N let out a surprised gasp. “Hi.”
“Hello gorgeous,” Y/N steadied her daughter in her arms as Negan closed the distance between them to press a kiss over her lips. “Did you have a fun time with daddy today?”
“Yeah,” Charlie pointed toward the field where they were practicing. “They look good.”
“Oh, is that so?” an amused breath fell from Y/N’s throat knowing that she was likely repeating something that Negan told her. “You think they’ll win a lot of games this year?”
“Oh yeah!” Charlie boasted, her green-hazel eyes full of excitement. “Lots.”
“Let’s hope so,” Negan let out a long groan, dropping down to one of the seats behind the home plate and he was surveying all of the players closely. Moving in beside him, Y/N took a seat with Charlie in her lap. “They are pushing themselves well, but you never know how they will do.”
“They have a coach like you, I’m sure the fellas are going to do great,” Y/N insisted looking out at the baseball diamond. There was music in the background and Charlie had managed to wiggle out of her arms to stand on her feet to dance to the music while she watched the players as well. It made both Negan and Y/N laugh. “She is so cute.”
“She really fucking is. How did we make something so perfect?” Negan leaned his head in closer to Y/N’s so he could rest his head against hers. Their daughter was intensely watching his team like he had taught her to do when she was with him. “I mean she’s part you so that makes sense, but me…?”
“Oh hush,” she swatted at Negan’s chest hearing him snort when she did it.
“We should have another one,” Negan blurt out and he heard Y/N laugh making him turn to her with furrowed eyebrows.
“I’m sorry, I would love to have a bigger family with you in the future, but right now that’s a big no,” she laughed to herself and Negan let out a disappointed breath. “It’s not against you honey. We have Asher and Charlie. I’m going to school, you’re working…we just don’t have time for that right now.”
“I know, but picture having a little boy. Look at how fucking cute Charlie is,” Negan reasoned, looking to their daughter with a big smile. “I mean the idea has to appeal to you, right?”
“Yes. Yes, it does. When I’m done with my classes and have had a job for a while,” Y/N insisted with a hesitant sound. “Trust me Negan, I want to have a huge family with you. You’re a great father, so having more children sounds great…just better for when I’m older.”
“Yeah, we’ll see,” Negan grumbled and she nudged him with her elbow. “What?”
“I’m serious Negan, I need to at least finish school,” she grunted and Negan shrugged his shoulders. “Don’t you ever need sleep too?”
“The idea of having beautiful babies and getting no sleep is something I eagerly look forward to,” Negan nodded toward their daughter, his smile expanding over his handsome features. “Totally worth it.”
“Well, yeah. When you put it like that, they are worth all of it,” she confessed knowing that Negan was right. Things had been hard, but she wouldn’t give up a second of being with them. She loved her family and it made life feel worth it.
“So, don’t blame me if I want more,” Negan snickered leaning across to press a teasing kiss against her cheek, “my family just makes me happy.”
“You make me happy,” she hummed in approval, turning her face just enough to meet him in a quick kiss.
“Daddy!” Charlie exclaimed when the song changed and she looked over her shoulder at him. Her eyes were big with excitement and she turned to him, reaching her arms out toward him.
“What’s up baby girl?” Negan saw her bobbing her head to the music and Negan snickered.
“Dance,” Charlie requested and Y/N knew that Negan would dance with Y/N every morning. It was something that he had started from the moment she was a born and it always seemed to put her at ease when she was little, but now that she had grown a bit, it seemed to be one of her favorite things to do with Negan. “Please.”
“You wanna dance?” Negan blurted out and Charlie excitedly nodded. While Y/N wasn’t sure that Negan would want to do that considering he was at work, she realized she was wrong in doubting him when he swiftly got up from the seat and picked Charlie up in his arms. They twisted and turned while dancing together and Charlie’s laughter was like music to her ears while Negan did what she requested. “If my baby girl wants to dance…daddy will always find time to dance for her.”
After the song was over, Negan swung Charlie in his arms before playfully handing her over to Y/N, “Daddy has to go do some work sweetheart. I love you.”
“We stay?” Charlie looked back at Y/N confirming that she could watch Negan with the team.
“If that’s okay with daddy,” Y/N could see how happy Negan was at the idea of his daughter still wanting to be there with him.
“Of course it’s fine if you are alright with it mama,” Negan held his hand in the air and Y/N got comfortable in her seat with Charlie after nodding. Of course, if Charlie wanted to stay and watch Negan with the team, she was going to let her. “I’ll be back in a few girls.”
It was cute how Charlie stood behind the gate watching Negan working with the boys on the team. Often Charlie would get excited and point to Negan making Y/N giggle with her reaction to seeing her daddy doing his job.
Between watching Negan and dancing to certain songs that she liked, Charlie seemed to be having one heck of a good time there. Originally, they were going to leave when Y/N picked her up, but it was clear that Charlie liked where they were right then and there.
When practice was over, they had headed home and made a dinner together as a family. They were very open with always teaching and showing Charlie things. They were doing their best to make her aware of most things and they were already so happy with the things that she knew.
After dinner, they were all sitting together on the couch watching a comedic film. Bear was sleeping on Negan’s hip while Charlie was curled up against Negan sleeping. Honey was laying in Y/N’s lap and it was always like this. Everyone always liked to cuddle and be together which was something Y/N would definitely not complain about. It was very sweet and she loved how close they were.
The sound of the doorbell ringing was heard and Charlie let out an excited breath when she shifted awake in Negan’s arms. A tired yawn fell from Charlie’s mouth as she stretched out and pointed toward the door.
“Asher!” she called out and quickly wiggled herself off the couch toward the door. A worried Honey hopped off Y/N and followed Charlie into the foyer. Y/N and Negan were quick to follow and Negan rapidly picked Charlie up in his arms. “It’s Asher.”
Opening the door, Y/N saw Asher and Sherry at the door. Immediately upon seeing Charlie, a smile spread over Asher’s face and he swiftly moved into the home reaching for her from Negan. Carefully, Negan handed Charlie to Asher and watched as Charlie cuddled in against Asher.
“I miss you,” Charlie squeaked holding tightly to her big brother. It made Y/N immediately swoon over how fast and easily Asher was able to take to Charlie after she was born. They were the best of friends and it was moments like this that proved that.
“How was dinner?” Negan looked back over his shoulder Sherry noticing that she was still standing in the doorway just outside watching them. “You have a good time?”
“Yeah, I mean…I think so?” Sherry looked beyond Negan toward Asher who gave a small nod. “What do you think bud?”
“It was nice,” Asher answered, carefully setting Charlie down on the floor while reaching for her hand. “Can I show Charlie one of the drawings I made for her while I was in school today?”
“Of course you can buddy. Just go to the table. We’re going to have some ice-cream. I got some of your favorite today,” Negan gave a wink and looked back to Shery while she stood awkwardly at the door. “I’m glad to see you’re coming around more often to see him Sherry.”
“Well, I’m glad to see him. He’s turning out to be quite the little man,” Sherry answered folding her arms out in front of her chest.
“Sherry, do you want to join us for ice-cream?” Y/N offered behind Negan and it made Negan look back over his shoulder at Y/N with a surprised expression. “There is plenty for you to do that.”
“I couldn’t impose,” Sherry denied the offer and Negan let out a hesitant breath before shrugging his shoulders.
“Come on,” Negan waved her into the home and she reluctantly followed them into the home while heading toward the kitchen.
After Negan had pulled the stunt he did over two years ago with Asher, it was surprising how smoothly things had gone with Asher and Sherry. Y/N didn’t question it, but Negan did in fact know certain people that made certain results disappear and he did know the kind of lawyers he talked about to Sherry. While Negan was lying and she knew that, no one else did. It was something that no one would ever be able to know because it was something that Negan and Y/N agreed to never talk of again. Asher was Negan’s son, no matter what they both knew to be true.
There was only one point when they had become worried. Even though Negan had come into a positive test that Y/N knew was manufactured, Dwight was still convinced that he was Asher’s father. Somehow, he had convinced Sherry to do a DNA test with his own DNA and Sherry had done it. When Sherry had told Negan about Asher, she was convinced that Negan or Dwight was Asher’s father. Obviously, Negan was going to do whatever he had to in order to make sure he kept Asher, but surprisingly enough…Dwight had gotten the test back and it was negative. It was something that Negan didn’t even have to change because it was legit. So, while Y/N and Negan both knew that neither Dwight nor Negan was truly Asher’s real father, they kept it to themselves. When Dwight found out that he wasn’t the father, he just came to terms with fact Negan was clearly Asher’s father which made everything easier.
At first, Sherry had a hard time coming to the terms that Negan had set for her to get partial custody of Asher. Eventually, she was able to get her shit together without having Asher in her life and became desperate to see her son every so often.
“How’s work Sherry?” Negan spoke up when he headed for the freezer to pull out the ice-cream that Asher liked. “I know you were subbing at the high school out here.”
“Yeah, they gave me a full-time position. Hopefully I can keep it up because I…I honestly like it,” Sherry informed them, her face flushing over when she talked about it. It seemed like she felt a little bummed about it and Y/N reached out to squeeze over her shoulder.
“Well that’s good to hear. I know that Asher sure is happy that you are out here now,” Y/N urged Sherry on knowing that Asher truly was happy to know that his mother was attempting to do better for him. After two years, it was about time and Y/N wasn’t about to discourage her. They wanted Asher to have a relationship with his mother while still having him know his permanent home was with them. “I know he likes these dinners that you guys do.”
“Yeah?” Sherry confirmed and Negan nodded his head while popping open the lid of the ice-cream. “Me too. I like getting to see him. With that school he has learned so much.”
“He’s a smart boy,” Negan responded grabbing bowls for everyone that was there. The sounds of laughter filled the room and they looked to see Charlie with Asher drawing together. Both of them seemed to be beyond amused with whatever they were doing, but it was cute. “Though, I think he’s going to be an artist. Since I’ve given him that art kit, he hasn’t been able to stop drawing.”
“I never knew he liked to draw until recently,” Sherry confessed and nervously moved across the kitchen when they headed for the table with the ice-cream bowls. While they shared dessert with Asher’s mother, Asher talked to her about school and it was nice to at least see them interacting in a calm manner.
“You’re a sweetheart, you know that?” Negan leaned across to whisper in Y/N’s ear. He was sitting in the seat beside her with Charlie in his lap while the two of them shared his ice-cream. Y/N knew he was talking about the offer she made to Sherry, but she wanted Asher to believe he was loved. The more…the merrier, right?
“Here…” Charlie turned in Negan’s lap and reached for the bowl that Negan had. Scooping some of the ice-cream out, she began to feed Negan making Y/N smile. It was cute the bond both Charlie and Negan had. “Mama…here.”
“Mama has her own baby,” Negan snickered while Charlie raised a spoon out for Y/N to take a bite. “I guess we’re all sharing.”
After dessert Sherry had said her goodbyes to Asher and they went back to having a family movie night all together. Charlie was cuddled between them and Asher was laying against Y/N while they were on the couch. With their time together, Y/N had viewed Asher as her son. There was no doubt that she loved this boy as much as any mother could. Charlie and Asher were both her children. So, there was an incredible bond between the both of them as well. When Negan was working, they would always work on art projects together and Asher had become just as close to her as he had done Negan.
When both children had fallen asleep, they had made the decision to get them ready for bed, but when they got upstairs Asher suggested they all sleep together in Negan and Y/N’s bed. Once the idea was out there, Charlie was excited at the idea of it. With both of them desperately wanting it, Negan and Y/N couldn’t tell them no. So, they all got ready for bed.
“Hey ma,” Y/N heard Asher call out when she looked from where she was sitting on the bed with Charlie to see Asher standing beside Negan at the sink. Both of them were brushing their teeth together so Asher was talking with a mouthful. “Do you think I’ll be as tall as dad someday?”
“You’re already super tall dude,” she smirked feeling Charlie leaning further back into her chest while Charlie looked through the book that Y/N had in her hands. “I think you’ll be taller than him.”
“Yeah?” Asher lifted his head to watch Negan continue to brush his teeth and he let out an excited breath. “She thinks I’m going to be taller than you.”
“Even if you are, you’re always going to be my little man,” Negan muttered with a half laugh after he spit out what was in his mouth. “You know that.”
It was cute because Asher did a lot to try and act like Negan. He dressed like him and attempted to have the same mannerisms that Negan did. He started to do it so much that it was starting to become a second nature to him and Y/N found it cute.
“Charlie and I call dibs on the middle,” Asher hopped into the bed making Charlie bounce when he did it and made her giggle. “Do you want to sleep by mom or dad?”
“Uh…” Charlie saw Negan moving over to the bed and she made an expression that showed she was thinking hard about it when Negan laid down on his side of the bed. “Mama.”
Charlie crawled into Y/N’s arms while all of them got comfortable in their bed together and she could hear Negan cracking a joke with Asher while he held him in his arms.
“Hey guys?” Asher spoke up while Charlie reached for his hand to hold while they got comfortable. “I love you and I’m so lucky to have you as my family.”
“Love you too,” Charlie responded before Negan and Y/N could making them immediately smile. “Best big brother.”
“Can she be any cuter?” Asher blurt out making both of them laugh at Asher’s response. Leaning across the bed, Asher pressed a kiss over his little sister’s forehead and sighed.
“We love you too bud,” Negan stretched his hand across both Asher and Charlie to reach for Y/N’s hand. “We’re so incredibly lucky to have the both of you.”
Looking back on how things started, it was amazing that this was what life had become. A life full of happiness. One where every day was spent being a family and loving each other. This was the family that Y/N had always dreamt of, but never thought it was obtainable. Negan, Asher and Charlie were everything to her and she couldn’t imagine having life without them. Everything she had ever wanted was right here in her arms and she felt incredibly blessed to have it all.
“I love all of you so much,” Y/N squeezed her fingers around Negan’s finding the support and warmth she knew she would always have with him. “You’ll never know how much all of you mean to me. I love you with all my heart and I always will.”

A guiding hand
Royai week day 2 - Serene (let’s collectively ignore how late I am posting this ok thaaaanks)
Summary:   “She expected Roy to follow up with a flirty comment or joke; that was usually how this type of conversation went. Instead, after a moment, he let out a sight. When he spoke again, his voice had a melancholic tone to it.
"That right there is the one sight that I really miss. ” ”

“They had left their windows wide open, letting in a soft breeze to relieve them from the heavy summer heat. The curtains were rising and falling without a sound, fluttering in the air like ghosts. Even the streets around the house were quiet at that hour; the only thing that broke the stillness of the night was Riza's voice.
"As for Senator Harn's wife, she was wearing a very elegant apricot-colored dress. With her signature high hairdo, of course.”
Their blankets had long been kicked away to the bottom of the bed in a messy pile. Roy was lying on his back, facing to the ceiling, one hand playing idly with a lock of Riza's hair.
"Apricot?" His eyebrows furrowed slightly. "That's the yellow with a touch of pink, right?”
"That was pretty much it, yes." Riza was lying on her side, her head against her hand, elbow propped up on the pillow. The room was covered in shadows, but the flickering lights from the window on the street allowed her to see the outline of Roy's face.
"And you said Harn had a royal blue jacket...That must have made for an odd contrast.”
Riza smirked. "Yes, that's what several people seemed to think. It looked as if the General and his wife had not consulted with one another before coming to the gala.”
A sly smile spread across Roy’s face. "Ha! And you just know the rumors about their marriage are already flying high. It's sort of ironic, considering how Harn is constantly babbling to the Parliament about the “traditional family” and the “sanctity of marriage” and whatnot." His hand came to lightly circle Riza's wrist, his thumb tapping the back of her hand. "I’m sure you now understand how crucial fashion is in Central. It's not just a matter of taste: it's inherently political.”
"Sure," she answered, unconvinced. "Anyway. The Harns didn't capture the guests' attention that long, since the buffet was brought shortly after.”
Roy hummed appreciated. "And that was a good one. I've rarely tasted crab this delicious.”
"Yes, and they must have put as much effort into the presentation as in the cooking, because the set-up was magnificent. Everything was served on glittering silver plates, which reflected the glow of the chandeliers. On each table, the dishes were arranged in a sort of pyramid, culminating with the piece of meat or seafood. It looked extremely fragile, like...like some sort of house of cards, or crystal architecture, defying gravity - but they all stood the evening without crashing down. It was breathtaking.”
This had become the most constant part of their day. Almost every night, as they lay in bed before going to sleep, Riza would describe to Roy a long list of the things he hadn’t been able to see during the day. When they had first started this habit, as they were working on the the reconstruction of Ishval, Riza's descriptions had been much more pragmatic, like a mission report: which building seemed in need of repair? Which tribal leader looked unsatisfied during their morning meeting? She did her best to give him this information as the day went by, but there were always important details that she missed.
As the years had passed and the two had distanced themselves from the military, Riza's description had slowly become more lyrical. She began to tell him about beautiful sights that he was missing – a particularly colorful sunset, or the way the city lights looked at night. As time went by, she started to enjoy these conversations and more more, and they became increasingly long. It got to the point where, as Riza saw something pretty during the day, she found herself immediately thinking of the way she would describe it to Roy later at night.
"You should try to write a book," he had told her once. "You're so good at this - I can picture in my mind everything that you're telling me about like I was seeing it."
"It wouldn't be the same," she had answered, shaking her head. "I like hearing your reactions."
He had arched his eyebrows, smirking. "And yet you scold me every time I interrupt you.”
"Stop being overdramatic,” she had retorted. “Now let me continue." They had left it at that.
Sometimes Riza would rest her head on his chest as she went on with her stories. This was what Roy preferred.  Ever since losing his eyesight, he had grown much fonder of physical contact, even casual, with her - after all, it was the surest way he could know that she was by his side. But Riza liked to remain slightly further, just next to him, so that she would be able to observe him during their late-night conversation. His face would take on such a special expression at those times, almost peaceful, or...serene.
Serene. That would have been the last word anyone would have chosen to describe Roy under normal circumstances. Despite his reputation as a slacker, he was a man that was constantly busy thinking about one thing or another, pondering, planning his next ploy – or his next date with a certain Lieutenant. His eyes in particular had always betrayed the constant working of his mind: they were restless, always darting around the room to study the people they were talking to, noticing details in their postures, noting suspicious movements out of the corner of his eye.
And, Riza knew it well, even the moments of rest didn’t bring Roy much serenity. More often than not, his sleep was plagued by violent nightmares that would wake him screaming in the middle of the night - or at least, that tensed and distorted his expression as he slept.
This had not changed since the Promised Day. But since Roy’s fight in the underground of Central, his blind eyes had lost their piercing look and had taken on a milky appearance. In the first few weeks, Riza had hated meeting that blank stare - it reminded her too much of what his eyes used to look like, as well as symbolizing her failure as a bodyguard.
But eventually, she had come to see a certain beauty in them, and in the calmness they brought to Roy's expression. He was still as expressive as ever, with his trademark crooked smile and taunting eyebrows. But in the evening, when they were alone together, his face truly relaxed. As Riza described the day's events to him, he would focus entirely on her voice, letting his mind recreate the image she was painting. His eyebrows would loosen and his forehead became smooth, free of its usual furrow; his mouth would fall half-open. At this particular moment, Roy took on a serene expression that Riza had never seen on him before, and she never got tired of looking at it.
"I need to tell you, unfortunately," Riza broke the silence that had settled, "that you were not the best-dressed man at the reception.”
Roy propped himself up on his elbows, frowning with surprise. So much for serenity.
"What? Who was?”
“You’re not going to be happy about this,” Riza said, trying to hide the small smile in her voice. "But Colonel Birks made quite an impression. He wore a rather daring suit, made of a black  fabric from which red velvet patterns stood out.”
Roy huffed with indignation. "Velvet! Nonsense. He obviously can’t stop pushing the boundaries of extravagance – and of bad taste.”
"I don't know," Riza said evasively. “I thought it was pretty elegant…and I wasn't the only one.”
Roy ran a hand through his hair, ruffling it. "Outdressing the president should be considered insubordination," he muttered under his breath. "I'll call Ms. Zhao tomorrow. I need something more avant-garde for the next gala. Maybe with some silk mixed in with a cotton suit?”
He lay down again on the bed and raised his arm, inviting her to come closer. Riza moved to nestle up against him, putting her head on his shoulder, a hand on his chest. Roy wrapped an arm around her waist and buried his nose in her hair. Whenever he did that, his breaths would tickle Riza's neck, making her giggle; she would always pretend to be annoyed but it, but they both knew better.
After a moment, Roy tucked some of her hair away from her face. He brought his lips close to her ear. "Tell me again what you were wearing."
Riza felt a shiver go down her spine. That deep voice that Roy used when he whispered always got a reaction out of her, no matter what cliché or silly thing he would say.
A wry smile crossed her lips. "At this point, you know my wardrobe better than I do, Roy. ”
"I know," he answered, unabashed. "But I like hearing you describe it."
Riza chuckled. “Well,” she began, “I was wearing the flowy emerald green skirt that Rebecca got me for Christmas, a brown leather belt, and my white blouse. The one with the embroidery on the collar. ”
He hummed in appreciation. "With your golden high heels, I'm guessing."
"With my golden high heels," she nodded, "because even though my feet are killing by the end of the night when I wear them, they do really go well with that skirt." Her hand started to play with the ring that Roy wore as a necklace. "I didn't put much makeup on because of how humid the weather was. But I did wear my bright red lipstick."
She felt his cheeky smile even before he spoke. "I can recognize it by taste, now."
If they weren’t pressed so close together, she would have dug her elbow into his ribs. She rolled her eyes instead. "I also had my gold bracelet to go with the shoes, and the earrings you bought me to complete it all. What else...my hair was in a bun, and, of course, I had my necklace."
She expected Roy to follow up with a flirty comment or a joke; that was usually how this type of conversation went. Instead, after a moment, he let out a sight. When he spoke, his voice had a melancholic tone to it.
"That right there is the one sight that I really miss. ”
Riza felt her smile drop. A lump appeared in her throat. Roy rarely complained about his blindness; even in the months following the Promised Day, he had adapted to his new lifestyle with impressive resilience. At first, it seemed as if his disability had affected his Lieutenant, plagued by guilt, more than himself. Still, Riza knew that he must have carried a lot of silent regrets through the years. There was so much Roy had had to give up, so many compromises he had had to reluctantly accept on his plan to reform Amestris – and on his personal life.
Riza disentangled herself gently from his grasp and straighten up, half sitting, to observe him. One of his arms was folded under his head, and he still seemed to be looking at the ceiling - but of course, that was just an impression. She ran a hand through his hair, brushing them away from his face. He smiled slightly at her touch, but she didn't need to see the pupils of his eyes to know that his heart wasn't in it.
She didn't like seeing him like this. With thoses cloudy eyes, melancholy turned his serene expression into a confused one - like he was a child that got lost and couldn't look for his way home.
Riza laid down again and rested her head on the pillow, her face turned toward Roy. She started to gently stroke his arm. "At least, you can keep in your mind the image of what I – and you – looked like in the prime of our youth," she said after a moment in a playful tone, trying to comfort him. "You won't need to see us get all old and wrinkled.”
To her surprise, Roy's face saddened further.
"Don't say that. Beautiful women are like fine wine, they only get better with age - that's what Chris used to say. I always wanted to see how you would look as you grew old.”
Riza raised her eyebrow, surprised. "Really?" she answered in spite of herself.
He nodded. "Not everyone ages gracefully, of course. But I know that wrinkles would look flattering on you; you have such elegant features. And silvery hair never fails to give this distinguished look - at least on women," he added, running a hand through his hair, suddenly self-conscious. His eyebrows furrowed. "Do I already have grey hair?"
Riza felt her shoulders relax. "You're almost completely bald by now, Roy."
He winced. "Please don't joke with that. I don't know what I would do if this were to happen.
Riza simply smiled, and they fell back into a comfortable silence. She watched Roy’s chest rise and fall with his breathing, lulled by the calm rhythm.
"You know, I always wished I could see you grow old, also because it would have meant that we made it."
Riza felt her breath catch in her throat.
She reached up and placed her hand on his cheek, hoping her touch could tell him what her words couldn’t.
“We did make it, Roy.” Now of all time, she wished he could see her face.
"I know," he said. He took her hand and brought it to his lips, pressing a light kiss against her knuckles. "I know."
Riza propped herself up on her elbow. She close her fingers around his, and squeezed firmly.
"Listen. We'll just do like with everything else. When my hair turns grey, I'll describe it to you. And as for the wrinkles," she placed his hand on her face, "you can see that for yourself."
Roy made a small smile. For the first time, he turned to face her, placing the tip of his fingers on both sides of her face. That was something he never tired of doing. Before he had lost his sight, he had always been able to read her like a book, understanding the meaning behind even the most subtle of her facial expressions. Now, he could do it in a much more literal sense, by tracing the surface of her body, reading the lines on her skin as if they were words written in braille.
"And when my face is so wrinkled it's unrecognizable,” she continued, "you will know the story behind each one of them.” She injected a smile into her voice. “The ones I already have on my forehead, for example, come from the stress of having spent so many years asking you to do your paperwork.”
His fingers brushed her forehead, and he smiled, abashed. "And you're all the more beautiful for it, my dear." He reached toward her and, guided by his hands, placed a light kiss on her head. “I can’t wait to see the rest.” ”

ayo! (wait this might be a bit of a jumpscare dishdks i apologize) i’m op of That Post and was wondering what your opinions were on the whole woobification thing? /gen
because it’s a Tiny Bit widespread within the dream apologists to sort of,, overdramatize stuff like l’manberg hurting him. like they’re not a 100% wrong but if you look at it subjectively you can see some sort of bias going into that sort of thing that makes the character’s mistreatment a bit more blatant and intentional which,, it really wasn’t? and there wasn’t That Much of it either. especially on twitter (tumblr is much better about it) people just jump to conclusions it seems and yeah. since you brought it up i was wondering if you wanted to write a bit about it from your perspective!
we’re kinda from different corners of the fandom but i still notice that once you are too attached to a character you start taking certain evidence and giving it more weight than it actually has. there’s a blurry line between “taking away a character’s humanity” and woobification and it’s extremely difficult to find a balance when said character shows pretty much nothing of his emotional life (e. g. putting up the intimidating villain act in front of only c!tommy, pretty much everything he does making rational sense with no emotional subtext) and a lot of the fandom instantly jumps to one side or the other while it’s like.
we don’t know by far enough to say “he’s traumatized” or “he isn’t traumatized” or “he was villainized and it hurt him” or “l’manberg didn’t affect him at all”
as a very analytical person people constantly jumping to conclusions grinds my gears, but that’s about it for my own view of the situation - sorry for the rambling.
in general i agree with you that both dehumanization and woobification is Bad and i really hope getting Actual Context sorts this out (e. g. him saying he was betrayed by his friends doesn’t mean it wasn’t partially his fault or that they were allowed to leave him, but it also shows that he did care about that happening. mentioning the cat doesn’t mean anything about what happened to c!tommy but it also shows that he did care about what happened to it. it’s just always interesting to get more information about the way he feels because he usually does a very good job at hiding it.) because man.
it’s like being stuck between a rock and a hard place, especially if you also are attached to the character and are expected to automatically agree with everything the people on “your side” say. it just ends up with everyone being mad and the character being mischaracterised overall.
oh wow hello! i didnt expect the op of the post to find me you’re right lol
and yes i agree! you seem to have a lot of very good thoughts tbh.
and by woobification, i mean exactly what you’ve already pointed out— the people who will say l’manberg purposely villainized dream, the people who will say wilbur faked his mental illness to manipulate dream, the people who are pretty much always talking about how badly dream was treated by people who were acting only fairly for themselves, usually.
for example people who act like dream was a perfect peacemaker before tommy showed up, or that tommy started most conflict. these are just actual lies that are told by c!dream himself to justify his abuse of tommy, and people fall for them incredibly easily because not a lot of people watched early dsmp and know that truthfully it was chaotic even then, and that dream was chaotic too. not to mention wilbur soot tried very hard to secede peacefully with l’manberg and dream jumped directly into war with no warning. and then people say he was forced into their war when, no, he started it.
theres also people who will say like, dream and sapnap for example are such good friends. i’m sure they cared for each other, but dream on multiple occasions has done horrible things to sapnap with no regard for his feelings (like leading fundy to sapnaps pets during the petwar, leading tommy to sapnaps pets during the other petwar and encouraging him to kill them, handing mars over to tommy to use as leverage against sapnap, etc). george he’s been less awful too but he certainly spoke over him and ignored his feelings enough that george felt hurt. he had places in his hall of attachments for beckerson and mars. george and sapnap were right to walk away from being treated like that.
there’s also what you just said here — “dream puts on a villain persona for tommy”— but honestly he acts like that around quite a few people (example: eret) and it’s usually when he’s revealing crucial info, which leads me and many others to believe that ‘persona’ is actually a more truthful version of him.
there’s the fact that he really isn’t safe for people to be around (or at least he wasn't before the prison) because he was planning to come up with ways to control every single person by stealing and threatening their attachments (some of which were not items but were living animals, or a real breathing person).
and then people will say dream was doing exile to enforce rules, or to keep the peace— when it’s very clear in canon it was a deliberate plan to get tommy on his own and into the prison. (from the way he was framing tommy for multiple crimes, and having sam set up the prison, and kidnapping tommy instead of correctly exiling him, all at the same time).
not even going into how he wants to kill and revive people for fun or make tommy immortal.
it’s just— ignoring all these actual facts and saying “oh he misses his friends, let’s get him some friends now” reminds me of like. when people would put flower crowns on pictures of serial killers. and then, there’s hardly anyone on the server who wasn’t subject to dream’s plans, so there’s absolutely no one i would be okay with him interacting with.
just remembered about the torture thing, and wow i still hate it so much. it’s someone’s sick revenge fantasy twisted into a way to get a manipulative villain sympathy, and it’s just gross to me on every account. i do think dream is traumatized-- just not by l’manberg, which was a conflict he started on his own terms. i would think l’manberg did affect him, because he was scared of losing control.
i’ve said it before and i’ll say it again— my ideal ending for dream would be for him to be sent far away from dsmp to an island full of therapy animals and super strong therapists who have never met him before. and for him to get a shit ton of therapy until he becomes a halfway normal person. and then eventually he could get integrated into society again; but a different one with new people. (although maybe dteam + bbh + puffy can visit him, they might still like him.)
none of the people on the server (who have all been affected by dream) should be burdened with befriending him or rehabilitating him— look how that turned out with sam! sam had a personal grudge towards dream and it ended with the poor dude being tortured every day; and sam himself falling into corruption and literally cutting off his boyfriends arm. like we can all see thats fucking awful right?
no one who was affected by dream should have to deal with him ever again. and contrary to popular belief, that includes a LOT more people then just tommy. dream isn’t just tommy’s antagonist, hes almost everybody’s.
the only person on the server who might also be able to stand to help dream is techno, and that’s from sheer lack of ability to give a shit. but techno is probably THE furthest thing from a good therapist there is lol, and dream needs better then that.
this kind of just ended up being a rant about my thoughts on c!dream, so im so sorry op. especially since it was probably negative for you. i hope you’re doing very well.
i guess in the end it’s true what you said— people will highlight or ignore things based on what characters they like, and it’s especially easy to do in this fandom, where half the content doesn’t even get watched and then we become a big echo chamber of half-truths.
considering dream has hurt so many of the characters i care about, i almost can’t understand how he could be someone’s favorite or comfort character— but he is nonetheless, and it would be unfair of me to be rude about that.
essentially it just bothers me to see someone who was a perpetrator of accurately portrayed abuse and manipulation (using both those words in their actual definitions, not just as random buzzwords lol) being given the flower crown edit effect. especially since he’s hurt the characters i care about a lot.
ANYWAY all of that being said (this got LONG im so sorry op) i am so so excited to get dream’s pov, because although i disagree with his actions strongly i actually find dream’s character very interesting and cool, and watching his POV is going to insanely fun. i cannot wait to see what theories get confirmed or denied
ALSO incase it wasn’t clear this is all /nm at you! you seem lovely and smart, and neither of us can help what characters we get attached to :]
