#Yin Yue Dance

Hello. I was very inspired by your posts! Now I'm working on some Avatar-related drawing, I'm going to draw kuspuk and I want to ask you a few questions about it if you don't mind.

1 – can Yue wear a white kuspuk as an everyday outfit? I though it could reflect her Moon Spirit dress. But you said it is traditional for men as hunting clothes and is a formal wear now, so I am not so sure about this idea anymore. 2 – I remember that kuspuk was worn over parka but is it possible in Avatar-universe to wear it in a modern fashion, as a tunik? And make it a bit narrower, to fit the body more? It's just easier to animate this way. 3 – could Yue wear Sokka's kuspuk or is it allowed only on special events like the holyday you talked about?

I would really like to draw it as respectful as possible. Thank you very much.

Hey, sorry this took so long. I appreciate how organized and formatted this is, it makes it very easy to thoroughly answer!

1. There are two parts to this question; whether kuspuks can be worn as everyday wear and whether Yue can wear a white one. If this helps, you can think of kuspuks in the same way you think of aprons. The purpose of an apron is to be easily washable and protect the clothes under it, and with advances in the garment industry and laundering, there is much less need for them. That being said they remain an iconic part of folkwear that can be lovingly decorated or, on the other hand, a sensible option for any number of chores or lifestyles. A white kuspuk is traditionally for men who hunt big game, as they make for good camouflage in the snow, but why does this mean Yue couldn't wear one? She is associated in canon with the masculine yang of the yin and yang and the moon which, in most Inuit and Eskimo cultures, is considered masculine as well. While white kuspuks are associated with men and specifically family patriarchs, a feminine kuspuk in white makes plenty of sense for Yue's character

2. A kuspuk is baggy. Otherwise it's just a shirt/dress with a hood and pockets. There's nothing wrong with drawing Avatar characters in kuspuk-inspired garments, but a kuspuk is not fitted to the body. There are contemporary novelty kuspuks that are sideless for indoors and warmer months, but that's the closest i can think of.

3. There's nothing really against wearing someone else's kuspuk, but you typically wear your own. While there are shops and makers that sell them, a kuspuk is often made by or for you and shopping for the fabric and and trims is a treasured part of the process so there is some intention to the garment being yours. Not impossible, but not typical. That said, there is the traditional Competition Dance of King Island that involved men dressing as women and women dressing as men. That would be a good opportunity for the two of them to swap clothes if that's what you'd like to do.

Why does every girl Sokka dates, or who even expresses interest in him, end up liking women?

Yue becomes the moon spirit and ends up locked in an eternal dance with the ocean spirit. The ocean spirit which is depicted as the female half of Yin and Yang.

Meanwhile, Legacy strongly implies Sokka and Suki broke up eventually, and shows us that Suki eventually returned to Kyoshi Island to lead her warriors… with Ty Lee. The only image we have of adult Suki is of her with her warriors including an adult Ty Lee by her side.

Ty Lee also had a crush on Sokka and, well, see above.

What’s next, Sokka? Is Toph going to reveal a secret girlfriend too? Actually, I’d believe it. Technically, her first kiss WAS Suki. 😂

Chapter 1: The Pull of La

In the Land of Water, Earth, Fire, and Air. The land where humans reside who can bend one of the elements sans one being — the avatar who could bend all four and was known to bring peace to the lands as a balance between the Human and Spirit realms.

It was in this land that a demigod — the demigod child of the sea — was reborn. Perseus Jackson, who died much too young. But before we can get to that, Percy must remember who he once was. He must become.

~~~10 years after Percy's rebirth~~~

“Sea!” The older sister gasped laughing. The cold open air sending goosebumps across her skin, her breath warm and visible to the cold air. Still, her heart beat with excitement in the cold winter air.

“Moon,” the younger twin, Sea, said excitedly using the nickname and alias of their sister so no one would recognize their names as Sea pulled their sister along through the snowy and icy streets.

“C'mon we're almost there,” Sea said, urging their sister along.

The two children giggled along the way, sticking to the shadows, cloaks hiding their small forms.

“Up here.” Sea whispers to Moon.

Moon bit her lip, looking at the looming ledge to climb up.

Sea smiled and knelt on the ground, “Here, I'll help you up.”

“Thank you, Sea.” Moon said, a bright smile directed to her twin.

Moon got up, her sibling pushing her up the ledge, her cloak falling from her head, and great silvery white hair bounded down her shoulders.

“Alright now I'm coming up.” Sea said, putting use in all the trailing they're done in secret to the test. Girls weren't allowed to train, but well Sea has never felt like a girl. If anything, they felt more at peace being like a boy, but Sea still wasn't sure because of how other people would react, and so for now they settled to stay in the inbetween. They've only told Moon this because, well, they got the idea from her, but for now they're just glad that their sister is so cool and accepting.

Moon reached her hand out to help Sea get up the last bit, and Sea accepted their sister's hand.

Finally, both the siblings turned to what they came up to see. Sea removed their hood, the black hair with undertones of blue falling down their shoulders in waves unlike Moon’s straight hair.

Sea and Moon gasped as they looked at the sight beyond them. Out from their icy village were the glittering stars of the night dancing on the dark ocean waves, with a full moon lighting up the sky.

The moon and sea called on the both of them in indescribable ways. They felt the pull and lost themselves in the moonlight and lapping waves. It seemed to sing to them, a whisper to their senses.

Even as the siblings stayed rooted in place, too hesitate to take that leap, for they feared they would never come back. They felt the presence of the moon and ocean wrap around them, possessive and lovingly for the children they claimed as theirs, and the siblings’ skin glowed a bright silver. The siblings no longer felt the biting cold but felt as if there was a warm blanket around them — surrounding them like a hug.

Power called to them just as they felt the love of the moon and sea.

Moon’s eyes shone, her silver-blue eyes seeming to glow as brightly as the moon, while Sea's eyes glowed a beautiful dark blue of the sea. The two clasping hands in disbelief and awe. The two, a perfect balance of the moon and sea.

Sea leaned on Moon, and Moon leaned on Sea — the two siblings enjoyed the perfect night, trying to ignore that beautiful call that reached out to both of them.

The two smiled at the moon and the sea, and the moon and ocean seemed to pull back their call, sensing that the children would not come to them, but left a whisper to their senses that they were always welcome.

The twins were just glad they could escape their duties for just one night and just be children tonight and see this amazing sight.

“Where were you two?!” Their father shouted, his blue eyes narrowed in rage.

The two remained silent and still as a rock, fearing their father’s rage.

The father breathed out a tense breath and looked to Moon, “Yue, where did Umi take you two?”

Umi, or rather Sea, looks down in betrayal. Father always assumes the worst of them.

“We just wanted to see the moon tonight, Father, since it was full, so we watched the sky.” Yue, or Moon to Sea, answered, a perfect and poised response expected from the chief's daughter.

Father sighs, “Fine, but next time, alert me or your guards. I can not have my daughters just wander around like commoners now, can I?”

“Yes, Father.” Both siblings answer in sync.

“Good, now get to bed. You are only ten and need your rest before you begin to learn more lessons tomorrow.”

The two bow to their father, Chief Arnook, as he leaves the room.

When the twins feel that their father is out of earshot, they both slump in relief, “I’d thought we were done for.” Sea says.

“Me too.”

“I guess we should sleep.” Sea says.

“Yeah, I guess so.” Yue responds.

Still, as much as the two try to fall to rest, the mystical sight of the moon and ocean gives them a restless sleep at most.

Then, in the morning they are groggy at best, but at least they'll always have one another, so they'll get through all their lessons about what is proper for a chief’s daughter and at night they'll dream of the moon and sea.

~~~Six years later~~~

“The Avatar is here. Can you believe it?! Now things can surely change for the better!” Yue states excitedly, looking toward her brother in their shared room.

The room that they have had since childhood. High walls made of dark wood. Carvings of stars and animals in its posts. Two large beds placed on opposite ends with bunks at the end to place a few special belongings. Along with an ornate mirror and desk and chair for getting ready for the day in the left corner of the room placed beside their wooden wardrobe.

A room that held all the necessities for the chief's daughters but was not personalized beyond the two siblings's few well kept dolls and wooden trinkets adorning a small wooden dresser by their beds as it was not proper to have too many personal things as their duty was first to their village and not to themselves. Then, of course, a large bookcase with old and new books upon its shelves in the right corner opposite their dresser.

Sea returns his focus from their room and onto Yue. His sister with hope in her tone, but resignation in her silver-blue gaze. Sea wasn’t having any of that.

Sea rolls his eyes, “Yeah, well, Father just announced your fiancé who you barely even tolerate. I doubt that the kid will be able to do much as Father even used the Avatar’s notoriety to publicize his chosen partner for his daughter.”

Yue puckers her lips, “C'mon Sea. It's for the good of the tribe. At least you aren't being married off.”

Yet, but Sea holds his tongue because that isn't fair to his sister.

“Just try to look on the bright side, okay, brother.” Yue says, her bright silvery blue eyes showing sincerity.

Sea huffs, crossing his arms over his binded chest, “Alright, I will.”

Yue smiles and hugs Sea. “Everything will turn out alright!”

Sea smiles back, but for some reason, in his heart, he knows something is bound to go wrong.

“Yeah,” Sea says softly.

Then, to lighten the mood and tease his sister, Sea calls, “And don’t think I haven’t noticed you looking at the Southern Water Tribe boy.”

“Sea!” Yue yells and blushes, “It’s nothing, and besides I’m in an official relationship, you know.”

Sea feels anger rolling off him from that. His sister deserves to marry whom she pleases, not just be given off to someone that only pleases Father.

“Sea…” Yue starts.

“I know.” Sea finishes.

The two get ready for bed in silence. Sea is ready to call it for the night, expecting the night to continue in silence, but…

“Goodnight!” Yue calls happily, her voice already bringing a smile to Sea’s face, “Also, make sure to take the binder off before you rest or you'll injure your chest.”

Sea smiles. He is so thankful that his sister helped him figure all this out with him being male since the village sure wouldn't help out. Everyone in the village is rigid in their roles of what is expected of men and women, and Sea has never really fit it.

“I will,” Sea says, smiling softly, so glad that Yue wasn’t really mad. Sea loves his older twin sister so much, and he doesn’t know what he’d do if Yue pulled away from him.

From a young age, Yue was all Sea really had. Even now, Sea doesn’t really have anyone else. Sea has always felt so wrong in his own body, hated how everyone called him and perceived him. It caused him to isolate himself and hate himself. It felt like he was an outsider in his own skin. And Spirits, he hates his birth name, Umi. It just feels so girly.

Then, Yue just goes and flips Sea's world upside down by saying years prior, “Maybe you're not a girl.”

Since then, Sea confined more to his sister about his feelings, and they both figured out together what was right for Sea. That he was a man, even if he was born a woman. Even if only Yue knows, helps him with all of this, it’s enough for Sea to at least feel like himself. To feel like he’s a person again.

Thus, Sea takes off his binder that his sister helped him make, allowing his chest to be free even if it makes him uneasy in his body.

Still, Sea can now rest with a sound mind, and he whispers, hoping his sister is still awake to hear, “I love you.”

Sea waits a moment in silence before Yue whispers back, “I love you too.”

Sea smiles happily and lets himself listen to the wind outside their room. Lets himself feel the soft humm of the ocean’s waves beneath him, and he lets himself fall asleep.

“Percy.”

Sea turns around toward the voice. It sounds familiar and comforting like a mother's voice, but for some reason, the voice digs into his very soul. He feels tears pricking at his eyes. Sea lets the tears fall from his eyes and into the inky expanse.

His tears drop below him into the great chaos of darkness, and it ripples across the darkness and glows a bright aquamarine. Sea’s perspective shifts, and he sees currents shift by him, brushing by him as he breathes in the salty water as he would air.

Little one, It's finally time for you to learn.

The voice rumbles from all around, sounding like the crashing of waves, but its voice all too familiar. Sea recognizes it in his very soul. The ocean personified in this voice.

Sea kneels before the great spirit, his head bowed in reverence and respect for the one he owes his very life.

“Great La, Spirit of the Ocean. What must I learn?”

Everything.

Sea looks up momentarily, meeting the inhuman eyes of swirling whirlpools for pupils, eyes with from the deepest to shallow depths of the seas as its iris, and frothing seafoam as its whites. And great shimmering black and white scales of its koi body.

Sea falls into the Spirit's all-consuming embrace. The pull is too much to deny.

Sea begins to see everything. He sees himself as a baby too weak to live another day next to his twin, who is much the same. He sees their matching pure black hair and light blue eyes. Then, the twins are placed where the Spirits Tui and La reside. Two koi fish, forever pushing and pulling amongst themselves, who gave their power to the mortal realm to form the very moon and sea. A sacrifice and gift to the mortal realm in which they now forever reside. Their dance is fervent and slow, as their power and divinity seep from their small pond into blessing for the twins. Yue's hair becomes a shining white, her eyes now a silvery blue as Tui blessed her with life. While Sea's hair became tinted dark blue, his eyes forever changed to match the water's ever changing tides. The Spirit’s power resides forever now in the two mortal twin's lives, a soft glow around the two that is invisible if one is not blessed with the ability to see Spirits.

Then, Sea saw himself grow up more, saw how the ocean loved him, begging him to take a drive into the frozen waters down, down below.

Sea saw how he and his sister became so close to the Spirits’ might that fateful night six years ago. Only for his father to separate him from the tides and his sister from the moon. Saw as the twins became sheltered into a life that drained the ocean and moon from their lives.

Even as Sea was surrounded by the ocean, its power thrumming under his feet, he became disconnected from its tides.

Sea saw as Tui and La had finally had enough. Saw the furious ocean crash into the village’s icy walls, cracking them from the foundation, and saw a full moon become dark and make the benders' power over the coming tides weak. Tui and La were furious with their chosen being kept from them. Saw as Yue and him were smiling peacefully in their sleep, even as the ocean and moon reeked havek around them.

It was only a matter of time.

Sea saw how Yue started to lose her divine glow, mortality seeping more into her soul as she became burdened with Father’s goals, while Sea’s aura only became wilder as he sought, searched, rebelled against Father’s laws. The ocean called so strongly to him, and he was never strong enough to resist like his sister always did.

Sea wanted to reach out to Yue, but the visions shifted too suddenly.

Sea saw himself practicing water bending in secret. Saw as he hid amongst the Master Bender’s lessons and kept watch, so he became self-taught in bending. The ocean in his soul calling to him more and more.

Sea saw as he dove into the surely frigid waters after Father refused to see him as more than just a daughter who was weak and needed to be protected. Saw as the current swelled amongst him, and the ocean sang to him. Sea heard the fish whisper to him and heard their voices as surely as his own.

Sea saw the avatar making his way into their home. Saw the chaos he brought, but the hidden hope in his face that he could make a change. Saw that hope crushed in sad defeat when he realized that Aang was just a twelve year old kid, and his sister was being forced to marry anyway.

He saw everything.

Sea's eyes were opened wide, and he looked over seeing the glow of another in front of him. The other mirrored his expression. Sea saw himself in this person even as they looked different, Sea felt that he knew this person in strange clothes and scarred skin.

Brace yourself, young one.

Sea blinked, and the vision of the other person and La was gone. Sea felt himself fall more into the embrace of rest, but he would not forget what he saw even after he awoke from his eventful dreams.

METEOR GARDEN (2018 CHINESE ADAPTATION)

So the ending was Dong Shancai (SHEN YUE) was told by Ximen (CEASAR WU) that she rejected Daoming Si (DYLAN WANG) and he moved to London.

Then Daoming Si appeared making the same demands of when they met. Shancai denied him and he left. Then Daoming Zhaung (HSU DEE) appeared with two backup dancers and danced to the song RIVER (by BISHOP BRIGGS aka SARAH MCLAUGHLIN) which is a popular song in the states at that time.

She then tried to summon Daoming Si but instead got Hauze Lei (DARREN CHEN) Ximen (CEASAR WU) and Meizuo (LEON LEONG) having to choose one of them to marry. They all make their pitch.

After she turns them all down they summon Daoming Si who appears with every other guy that fell for our heroine Shancai including her best friend Qing He (LIN YIN HAO) Thomas (BLAKE ABBIE) and Tian Ye (WANG RUN ZE)

They were married by Daoming Si's sister without Shancai's parents or Daoming Si's evil mother who by this point wasn't trying to stop them in attendance. But the two mean girls that sent Shancai into a blizzard were there. But like @pose4photoml said...they got their happy ending.

Azulaang - happy ending

Aang: Azula’s plan worked. Raava is now the spirit of darkness/chaos/yin as well as light/peace/yang, the spirit of balance itself. She can now embody and control the sources of any/all bending. All benders will be empowered by the avatar spirit from now on. The eternal conflict between Raava and Vaatu has finally come to a permanent end.

Zuko: I don’t even know what to say.

Katara: You were incredible!

Ty Lee: And the way you turned all gigantic like that, wow! Yes, you did it, just when we were losing, a miracle happened!

Sokka: Are the elemental spirits ok? Appa? Yue? My dad?

Aang: Yes. All souls that were absorbed, including Yue, Appa, and your dad, are now free and are going in peace.

Sokka: Good. Thanks.

Suki holds onto Sokka’s arm and rests her head on his shoulder. Cut to Aang and Azula at the northern portal.

Azula: Now that you’ve reconnected with Raava, have you also regained your past lives?

Aang: No. I guess that link is gone forever. I am now the first Avatar in a new line of Avatars.

Azula: Ya don’t say. Let’s just close the portals and call it a day.

Aang: (Reaches for the portal but stops and hesitates) Maybe I shouldn’t.

Azula: What makes you say that?

Aang: I think with the spirit portals opened, it’ll restore the ancient balance between our world and that of the spirits and it’ll help eliminate the illusion of separation. Appa’s physical body may be dead but I can still sense his spirit. Iroh’s spirit is here too. What do you think?

Azula: You’re the avatar, this is your type of gig, whatever your decision is, I’ll support you.

Aang looks at the portal and smiles. Cut to the rest of the gang gathering together in front of the third middle portal. They all collapse in exhaustion. Zuko and Katara held on to each other, Sokka and Suki did the same thing as well as Aang and Azula.

Zuko: I can’t believe a year ago me and my sister’s purposes in life were competing against each other and hunting you down. And now…

Aang: And now we’re all getting along.

Zuko: Yeah…we are.

Aang: I can’t believe a year ago I was still frozen in a block of ice. The world’s so different now.

Zuko: Yeah���

Katara: The fight is finally over. But how long will this peace last? So much chaos and death have happened. I can’t help but feel like we’re the only ones left.

Azula: (To Aang) Hippie, what do you think? Are we the last ones alive?

Aang entered the avatar state and put his hand on the ground. After a few moments, he went back out of the avatar state.

Aang: No. Less than 50% of all living creatures in the physical world are still alive but all humans are headless. All of their homes and establishments have been destroyed. No nations to govern them. No rulers to lead them.

Azula: That’s where we come in. We’re the only ones left alive who know the goals of the white lotus, so it’s up to us to complete them. Even though we should learn from those who came before us, we must also forge our own path. So that is why we should tell everyone that we are bringing back the era of energybending and give everyone a choice to bend more than one element like Aang. The portals will remain open, which means Aang will no longer be the bridge and he'll continue to be the avatar only because of his avatar spirit. This may blur up the avatar cycle a bit but the avatar being able to reincarnate at all is good enough of a cycle for me. Humans, spirits, benders, non-benders, nations, and elements will all learn to live together as one, with us leading them. In other words, things will never be the same again, we are entering a new age and we definitely have our work cut out for us but with Aang’s new-found powers, our jobs should be much easier.

Chapter 80

   When the news came in, Pan'er was playing with the two children.

At first they could not sit, then they could sit and look around with their heads propped up, and later they could crawl.

It was also at this time that the two little ones became even more difficult to take care of, because someone had to keep an eye on them all the time, as they would crawl out of sight if they were not careful.

   It was so quiet that a pin drop could be heard, and only Wan Yin was still panting and straining.

   Pan'er was a little uncomfortable with the silence, and looked down at them all with their heads bowed, as if the sky was about to fall.

   She couldn't resist touching her face. Was she really as jealous as the prince had said, so jealous that even the people around her thought she would not be happy to hear the news?

   What had given them this illusion?

   Pan'er thought hard, but it had to do with the two times she had been jealous on the southern tour. The first time, when someone else sent a beauty to the prince, she invited her to come and dance for her. Which might have given the impression of her being jealous.

   The first time in the Jiang family, in order to dig a hole for the Jiang family's daughter, she said some little sour words to suggest that the prince was jealous.

But this is not the same time, this is the Eastern Palace, and even if someone comes in, it's a proper selection, a gift from the elders, so can she still not comply?

   She admitted that she was a little uncomfortable, but only a little. She knew her own weight and was definitely not as serious as they were making it out to be, and now she was neither jealous nor not jealous.

   Auntie Qing took one and broke it in half, giving half to Yue'er and the other half to Wan Yin, telling her not to fight with the kangtang table. But the little girl was stubborn, she usually liked it, but this time she just didn't see it in her eyes.

   She made a very unhappy whimpering sound and continued to fight.

   "I don't know who this girl follows, I wasn't so stubborn when I was a kid." Pan'er lost her smile.

   When she saw that Aunt Qing didn't say anything either, she glanced at Aunt Qing, "Aunt, you don't think I'm upset inside too, do you?"

   In the afternoon the Prince came, dressed as if he had returned from outside, and when he sat down he took her by the hand and looked her over.

   "Your Highness, what is wrong?"

   The prince did not say anything.

   When Pan'er saw the tightly wrapped clothes he was wearing, she could only change the subject: "Are you still going to the front? If not, I will serve you to change your clothes.

   The prince thought for a moment and said, "No, I will stay with you."

   Pan'er was shocked by the words "stay with you", generally speaking the Prince was not a sweet talker, and she knew that the Prince was very busy these days. The last time he had come to her was four days ago, and the time before that was five days before that, and she had wondered if she had fallen out of favour with him in her old age, but she had learned from Xiang Pu that he had not been in the backyard recently.

   Naturally, she hadn't heard the news from Xiang Pu, but from Xiao Dezi. Since the time she had admonished Xiao De Zi, the boy changed his ways and no longer reported the matter to her, but instead told Xiang Pu, who wondered for herself whether to tell her.

In the past half month, the Prince had come to the backyard three times, once at noon, for lunch at the Hall of Virtue, and came to her that evening, and then the last time he came to her.

   So for such a busy prince to suddenly spare half an afternoon and a whole evening for her, Pan'er was honestly a little flattered.

After the prince had said this, Pan'er naturally could not allow the servants to dress him, so the two of them went to the inner room, where she personally found the prince's house clothes from the cupboard and brought them out to him to change.

   She unbuttoned and unbuckled his belt, which Pan'er did with ease, but it was the Prince who looked at the top of her hair and was a little hesitant to say anything.

   What did he say? He wanted to say that he wouldn't leave her alone, even if there were new people in the house. That he thought the Crown Princess had learnt her lesson well, but she had learnt the lesson too well.

   The Prince himself could not say any of these things.

The change in the Crown Princess over the past six months was obvious to him, and he was actually quite relieved to see that the Crown Princess understood things.

He even considered that if the Crown Princess could keep going like this, he would give the Crown Princess another child after a few more years, when the first few children had established themselves.

   But as soon as the thought started, the Crown Princess asked the Empress Dowager for someone else.

   The prince felt a mixture of emotions in his heart.

   But can he pick on the Crown Princess?

   No, the Crown Princess has done nothing wrong, she is not even jealous, and she has taken the initiative to ask for someone from the Eastern Palace.

Could he say that from the moment the Crown Princess changed, he had been waiting for the Crown Princess to reveal her cards, and now that the truth has finally come out, it's all for this?

He cannot. To say this would really prove that his heart is skewed.

In fact, the Crown Prince's heart has long been biased, he just hadn't realised it yet, and only after this incident did he realise it.

The Prince Consort went to curry favour with the Empress Dowager as a backer, he thought there was something fishy here and turned his head to remind Pan'er that it was time to curry favour with his Mother Empress, at one end the Prince Consort had just asked the Empress Dowager for someone and the next moment the Prince felt that she had finally revealed her purpose, which was to deal with the woman he was protecting in the background.

But when he thought about it calmly, the Crown Princess had actually done everything right, at least on the surface, and it was his heart that was biased.

But to say that the Prince Consort's intentions were pure and that there was not a single intention to deal with Yuan Yuan in her heart, the Prince did not believe it either.

   If not, why would he say that the Crown Princess had learnt too well, look at that, bright and upright, no one could fault her.

And while he waited for Yuan Yuan to come to him, she seemed to have no idea why he was here, and sometimes the Prince didn't think he was wrong to be biased.

   If he didn't keep an eye on such a confused woman, she would not only become meat on the chopping block, but also drag the two children down with her.

The crown prince, who had been rendered helpless by his own brain, looked at Pan'er with increasing determination and grudging admiration.

   "Your Highness, what is wrong with you today? Your eyes look a bit strange." Pan'er touched his lapel and said.

   "Nothing, I was just wondering when you would learn to be wiser." The prince had the tone of an old father worrying about his silly daughter.

The smart Crown Princess is waiting to sit back and watch the tigers fight, and the smart Hu Liang Di is already planning how to give the Crown Princess a hard time with the newcomer, but instead of being smart, you've come to me.

   The man is sometimes quite selfish.    But how could it be nothing?

The prince wanted to say something comforting, but could not, and finally only reduced it to one sentence - "Everything is fine, but you are too jealous."

Pan'er, whose name was already firmly on his head as a jealous woman, signalled that she did not want to say anything.

   If you don't have to say it, then do it, so this evening Pan'er was particularly enthusiastic.

   It is fortunate that the prince is a man of good stamina, who has been abstinent for many years and is not too keen on such things.

Because of this movement, the Eastern Palace up and down again came to a conclusion - even if the Crown Princess turned a new leaf, Su Liangdi also did not lose favor ah, look at this situation, the Eastern Palace concubines have a calculating one, who is not easily beaten.

   The prince went through them and found that they hadn't improved at all, but were even worse than before. It just so happened that he had nothing on his hands at the time, so he went to Pan'er's courtyard.

Fall of the Water Tribe

[This was supposed to be an essay in school. Reading back, I see this isn’t even a fanfic, but an indirect transcription of an entire episode of Avatar: The Last Airbender. Despite that, and the fact that it was written long ago and in haste, I want to share this. So warning: the plot is not original, but the writing is.]

My trip to the spirit world was…. Never mind that. I looked at Zuko, hunched up in the cold, shivering but still unconscious. His scar on the eye… I can’t help feeling bad for the guy, especially since I went through the same thing: losing your family to the fire nation.

The fire nation navy is too strong and too numerous. Even with the sneak attack there was less to no hope of escape, let alone victory. Our fighters, though brave and skilled in the ancient arts, were far outnumbered. They were holding on a little better, now that the mo-

“THIS” A strange voice boomed from behind. Sokka jumped and put a protective arm around Yue, the beautiful water-princess. “This is what I came for.”

A man appeared into the sacred garden dressed in the bright red uniform of the fire nation navy, a commander by the look of him.

“The moon and sea spirits, Yin and Yang” he said, pointing to the two fishes, one white with a black spot and the other while with a black spot, circling endlessly and tirelessly forever and ever.

Katara, with an angry cry, went to her stance, ready for attack, lifting a blob of water. Her eye muscles twitching, her face set but flowing with emotion. One of the hair loops askew. Her blue eyes struggling not to show her fear, or her concern about Aang’s missing body .

The man, big and sturdy, faced her without a hint of fear at being alone in the tribe of enemies. his sideburns made his face comically wide. A scar on his left cheek spoke of various other wars and battles he had fought.

“The moon and sea spirits, they are the reason I traveled far and wide, in search for the library under-the-sand. If I kill them, the moon would stop glowing and the sea would stop flowing.” He bellowed the last two words, and shot out an fire blast at Katara. She danced away, but too late. The heat made her a shaky on the feet and second blast almost hit her in the face.

Sokka charged at the man, boomerang in hand, only to be cast aside like a toy. The next blast was aimed at the spirits, the immortal spirits that took the mortal form for the men and the women, and this is how they are repaid: with a fireball that shoved them to the brink of death.

The man thrust his head upwards and laughed a big throaty at his apparent victory, but he had underestimated Katara. She regained her balance, spread her hands, and impaled him with a 7-meter icicle she had formed out of the sacred water.

Darkness fell, the moon’s glow dimmed and diminished, the sea went calmer and calmer, and the hopes were dashed against the rocky shore of defeat.

Katara looked at her hands, her face bore the look of defeat and pain but still looked strong. She waved her hands and tried to bend some water and failed. The next attempt was just as futile.

Yue rushed to the fishes.

“Katara!” she called.

Katara ran to their aid, and tried to heal them, but the power to heal was the power that came from the spirits, and Katara could just barely bend any water.

“It’s no use…” Katara said, devastated, her thoughts finally comprehending what this meant.

They crouched down beside the two dying spirits. During this time the water-tribe felt their power flowing out of them. Making them weak. They couldn’t hold up to the flames of the fire-benders even with the power of the moon… the moon that was almost invisible in the sky.

“There is.. one way “ Said Yue, “When I was younger and dying my father brought me here and prayed to the spirits for my life. The spirits gave some of their life to me… they kept me alive. Perhaps if I could…” her voice trailed off.

“Yue, you don’t have to do this” Said Sokka, but Yue had already lain down at the pool.

Her body shimmered and then glowed; the same happened to the spirits.

Bit by bit the spirits started moving, the moon glowed brighter and the sea started raging.

“If there was no war, could we have been friends?” I asked, and got a blast of fire in response. I sighed and flew away, leaving Zuko in the cold.

Suddenly I felt my powers loosen. Not all of it, but just a part of it….

This is a rage I cannot control; I felt the power coursing through my veins. But this time, I was still me, I didn’t have control, but I was still me in the avatar state. The water enveloped me, turning into the moon spirit. A GIANT moon spirit.

The fire nation will pay for what they have done.

Our men despaired. The avatar slashed left and right, drowning our men, while the water tribe bowed their head like a dog kicked by his master. The monster strode right towards us, leaving a trail of drowned fire-nation soldiers… the moon and the sea aglow. One water tentacle slammed right into one of our ships at the front, splitting it in half.

By that time, the Avatar was at the gates where we had directed our main attack. Smashing left and right, sinking all of the thirteen ships that had reached the gates. A few ships close behind shot flaming rocks and fire beams at him, but they just struck the body with a loud hiss and did no damage. The rocks just bounced off the body and cracked. When the Avatar moved in the water the ships rocked violently throwing men overboard. The ones who held on sunk with the ships.

The men were in complete terror now, stumbling with the ships, losing balance, screaming in fear like spurned kittens. The battle, which was an easy victory at the worst, was now as good as lost. We would lose some of the best men in our nation tonight, and most of our best ships. There was no chance of steering aside and leading a different course of attack. Our best course was to retreat, save as many as we can. I was just about to signal when…

… came our beacon of hope.

The sun rose, and somewhere in the depths of the great southern water tribe, the spirits shivered and weakened. A little girl wasn’t enough to bring them to their full-power. The Avatar swung drunkenly.. staggered.. and fell…. Bringing a tsunami on his own people.

“YOU RISE WITH THE MOON, WE RISE WITH THE SUN” I called towards them. Our men got back to their feet and charged with the renewed power of the sun, burning every man of the water-tribe.

The Avatar fell, the spirits died, the moon darkened and the sun rose. A war cry tingled through the air. The spirits couldn’t handle such a great feat with such little power.

Dawn broke. The fire nation advanced.

This will be a long post, as a heads up.

@winterpower98 Since you said you were interested in hearing this. 😁 Also, a fair bit of this is geared towards the Cursed AU and the Flower Fruit Kings/Shadowpeach Family in particular.

This train of thought got started with a song called 'Bridge of Light'. The original is by Pink and was in the movie 'Happy Feet Two', but the version I was listening to was a vocal rendition by a theater group. The song is about even when you lose everything, as long as you have love, you have light which will be your bridge in tough times. Beautiful song. Highly recommend listening to it.

Also, I think about the symbolism surrounding the Sun and the Moon a lot due to a story I am creating and as such, my brain asked the question: "What is a Bridge of Light? Can it be connected to symbolism surrounding the cosmos?" And the answer hit me over the back of my head. Then I decided to see if this Bridge of Light could be applied to Monkey Kid.

Let's go through the family to see, shall we?

Macaque - He is the Moon. Once again, simple and understandable.

Sun Wukong - He is the Sun. Pretty simple and with no need to explain.

MK - Okay, hear me out on this one. When it comes to being the Monkie Kid, the Monkey King's successor, he is a Star. But! When it comes to being MK, the son of Wukong and Macaque, he isn't a star. He is the Sunset. Guardian of the Sun. Why? Well..

Mei - She is the Sunrise. Defender of the Moon. When it comes to the Sunset and Sunrise, I like to think of a sword and shield.

The Sun comes out to rule over the day and reaches the peak of power around midday before it begins to dwindle in it's power. At the end of the day, it has weakened significantly and needs time to regenerate its energy, but it also at risk of being overpowered by the Moon.

So why is MK the Sunset and Mei the Sunrise? Well, outside of the colors they tend to wear, they each have a close bond to one particular monkie dad a bit more than with the other. Mei was Macaque's daughter before becoming Wukong's and MK was Wukong's son before becoming Macaque's. They are the protectors of that Celestial body in a metaphorical sense.

The sun and moon balance each other in the cosmos, the Yin and Yang. They aren't allowed to overpower the other. As such, a guard/champion is each placed at the times of day where it is possible for one to be overpowered.

The Sunset protects the weakened Sun and makes way for the Moon, who is at full strength to come rule the night. The Sunrise does the same but opposite - protecting the weakened Moon and making way for the rise of the rejuvenated Sun.

So. Moving on to:

Cherry - Ri Shi. The Solar Eclipse. When the Moon covers the light of the Sun and all we can see in the sky is a ring of flames. She is quiet, but fiesty and dramatic (theatrical?) much like a Solar Eclipse. We know it is happening when it happens. It is hard to miss. And like how the Sun is covered up by the Moon, she hides her weaknesses and fear behind her anger and distrust/paranoia.

Apple - Yue Shi. The Lunar Eclipse. When the Earth blocks the Sun from the Moon. He is the one who usually speaks. Where Cherry only speaks every so often/rarely (like a Solar Eclipse), Apple will speak up often and with confidence in the same way the Moon is a constant. He is okay being in the background and less obvious akin to the Lunar Eclipse.

Nezha - He is a rainbow. Just as he has been adopted by only Wukong, a true natural born in the wild rainbow only shows during the day. While I don't know much about him from the show yet, (as I haven't seen S3 yet), I have a hunch he will be dramatic/eccentric and a somewhat colorful person and if that doesn't sound like a rainbow, I don't what does.

Yin and Jin - Here we have finally come to the Stars of the family. They have only been taken in by Macaque, just as the Stars are only really seen at night. Afar, they are but twinkling and dancing lights. Up close, they are completely different. The Chaos Twins are the same way-powerful in their own right, but prefer to be himbos himbros. Plus, the stars (for me at least) with twinkle between a golden color to a more blueish silver color.

And finally:

Zan - She is the one who answers the question I posed above. The Bridge of Light. The Aurora Borealis. Strategically chaotic, bright and beautiful to see in the night sky. The Bridge between the Sun and Moon. Zan has quite literally done this on many levels when it comes to Macaque and Wukong.

She was there when Wukong and Macaque finally talked and began officially courting due to Mac 'kidnapping' her to lure Wukong out since the king is impossible to kidnap as is common in the Demon Courting Customs. (If I remember correctly at least). She was the Bridge for them to be able to reach each other and become a couple.

Zan has also helped the Eclipse Twins integrate into the family. Inviting them to come do stuff or hang out, getting them used to being around other monkeys and around the dads. She likely was involved with the twins being able to befriend Bai He. She gave them love and comfort at times and in ways that others couldn't reach. She was the bridge to unite them with the family.

Zan is also the bridge in another BIG way. And it is due to being the reincarnation of the beloved Marshal Ma. Ma in the past brought the group together which lead to Ba and Beng getting married, Macaque finding a home, a family and eventually a mate. The one who advised Wukong in his duties as a king and did all she could to love and support her found family.

In recent times? Because of the situation surrounding her birth and being orphaned, she was brought into Wukong and Macaque's lives. She becomes close with Macaque in particular and has worked to help him in all she can. Zan being close allows the two ancient monkies to learn of her connection to Ma. This leads to the reunion of the original group, the Flower Fruit Monkies with Ma there in spirit. A family torn apart and reunited. This also leads to a reunion for the BlueHollys family.

Zan is the past and the present coming together in unison which will spear head the future. The uniting of the Old Flower Fruit group and the New Flower Fruit group. She is friends with all of them, (as I suspect she will worm her way into Nehza's heart as well).

Without her, Wukong and Macaque wouldn't have gone to see the generals. Ba and Beng would have likely never been reunited with their daughter while Bai He would have no sense of where she belongs. The Eclipse Twins would have had a EXTREMELY harder time connecting with their new family.

Zan is a bridge made with orderly chaos, love and light.

She is the Aurora Borealis.

2017 BJYX Timeline : At First Sight.

Everything starts with a blank canvass. Oh we painted each others lives inch by inch. from black, gray and blue to colors we never thought existed. Two photos from different places, longing to be one. 

Let’s start from the beginning of this whirlwind timeline. There will be very minimal interaction between our boys, but this will also be a good time to see how they were before working together. I wanted to paint a picture of  XNINE’s Xiao Zhan and Idol Wang Yibo. Before their names got tied to the Untamed and each other.

They were doing their own thing, working hard with their careers, no clue that one chance meeting will be so important. Warning, this post is video links, image and information heavy. I am missing some stuff because this hell site refuses to save things and continues to glitch.

🡆 MARCH 2017

03242017 : The story starts when XNINE was a guest in Day Day Up. When asked, they always say that this is the first time they met. However, they did not interact at all.

But there are definitely times on this episode where they pay attention to each other and it’s so cute. You can find different videos that will highlight these moments better than any screencaps can.

*** Note 01 : In 2017, XNINE was transferred from EE media to Long Danni’s Wajijiwa Ent. Company. Some initial problems that they had was that their company was more interested in promoting them as actors and not as an idol group. They were also not kept safe in public venues which will be a recurring issue to GG as we go along other timelines.

I straight up check your profile daily for the southern raiders analysis you’re working on. 👀👀 where IS IT 😩

bRUH I am so excited to drop this analysis you have no idea (It’s creeping up to 22k+ I am gonna cryyyyyyyyyyyy). The only problem is that my TSR analysis and “Moon theory” are so incredibly hard to structure and articulate. I’m happy you’re so excited for it, though!!! Truly, it’s an honor. I’ll give you a taste of my madness and what’s to come, but be warned: it may be a bit hard to follow because TSR (from how I’ve come to understand it) is about the vagueness of beginnings, endings, and cycles, so there isn’t really a starting point for me to begin with. (So it may seem a tad bit like a ramble in some points that I haven’t fleshed out yet/am summarizing for this ask)

This analysis has me on trails like THIS brilliant nonsense, and I am 1000000000% here for it:

Roku: “The spirit's name is Koh, but he is very dangerous. They call him The Face Stealer.”

Katara: “We’re going to find the man who took my mother from me.”...“That’s him. That’s the monster.”

Lion Turtle: “To bend another's energy, your own spirit must be unbendable, or you will be corrupted and destroyed.”

Roku: “When you speak with him, you must be very careful to show no emotion at all. Not the slightest expression, or he will steal your face.”

Hama: “Congratulations, Katara. You’re a bloodbender.”

(If Katara had killed Yon Rha, she would be giving up her identity--her face. Not only would she have become a killer, but she would be killing what made her Katara)

Aang: “Let your anger out, and then let it go. Forgive him.”

Forgive him--approach him for what he is, not the faces your memories or your heart are having him wear. See him for the pathetic man he is in that moment right in front of you.

Aang’s forgiveness is seeing someone for the sum of their parts. It’s judging them and seeing through into their very soul, just like the Firebending Masters saw through Zuko being the Crown Prince and Aang being the Avatar. That meant nothing to the Masters. What did matter to them was who the boys were right there, right then, right in front of them.

“Why should I hold a grudge against you for something you did in a past life? After all, you’re a different person, now. You’ve come to me with a new face.”

But anyways...

If I can give no other take-away from my analysis and moon theory, it’s that Yin and Yang are not two entities; they are three. I think the fandom’s misunderstanding of it may be why the discourse on TSR (and Aang, Katara, and Zuko) is so black and white (pun intended lol). 

“But Yin and Yang are obviously two things. Don’t you know the symbol?” I hear some people already saying.

Wrong, sir.

It has never been just Yin and Yang. Yin and Yang have never existed as just two things.

They are Yin and Yang and Wu Wei.

(Aunt Wu has her name for a reason, and she has the mark of the wise in her hair for a reason, too...AND she is at odds with Sokka in The Fortuneteller for a reason, too!!!...but that’s for the analysis😉)

Balance isn’t good triumphing over evil. Balance is good and evil. Balance is standing on the flow between two opposites--it’s the compliment that connects them. (The koi fish live in an oasis for a reason.)

I’ll explain what Wu Wei is later in the full analysis (like many things in here), but here’s some of my evidences and proofs for the “Yin Yang trio”:

The Tibetan “Wheel of Dharma”

(I’ll also explain the Wheel and Dharma and etc. later because it has everything to do with Koh and the moon) Long story short, the wheel and its spokes are representative of the 8 steps to enlightenment and the cycle of rebirth. 

Look at the hub of the wheel. It’s a swirl made of 3 parts.

It is also a white lotus

Here’s the colored version of the wheel (as an alter):

Recognize the colors?

BLUE, WHITE (or gold, depending), & RED

These are the “THREE TREASURES” OR JEWELS.

They symbolize DHARMA, BUDDHA, & SANGHA respectively. 

KATARA, AANG, & ZUKO

water, air, & fire

Bato: “Ice dodging is a ceremonial test of wisdom, bravery, and trust.

Bato: “The spirits of water bear witness to these marks...”

Why does Bato say spirit(s) plural? The Ocean and the Moon are only two spirits. The Ocean can’t be two things. Right?

WRONG

Yue: “The legends say the Moon was the first waterbender. Our ancestors saw how it pushed and pulled the tides and learned how to do it themselves.”

The Moon--singular. The Tides--plural (push and pull)

Lion Turtle: “In the era before the Avatar, we bent not the elements, but the energy within our senses.”

The moon pushing and pulling the tide is the moon bending the energy of its world. 

Katara finding balance between “being too weak to do it” or “strong enough not to” is her bending the energy within herself.

It’s two solutions written as a question but said as a statement.

Yue: “Our ancestors saw how it pushed and pulled the tides and learned how to do it themselves”

THE SOUTHERN RAIDERS IS ABOUT AANG AND ZUKO LEARNING FROM KATARA. Katara had already learned from Aang and Zuko all leading up to TSR. That was her studying. TSR was her test.

TSR is Zuko’s and Aang’s studying. Sozin’s Comet is their test.

Bato: “For Sokka, the Mark of the Wise. The same mark your father earned. For Katara, the Mark of the Brave. Your courage inspires us. And for Aang, the Mark of the Trusted. You are now an honorary member of the Water Tribe.”

Aang - Wise (”you’re pretty wise for a kid”)

Katara - Brave (the same mark her mother earned)

Zuko - Trusted (”I was the first person to trust you”)

Sokka - Bato ("I am to have no part in this--you pass or fail on your own.”)

Yin and Yang are nothing without their dance. The Avatar and the Firelord mean nothing if they don’t have a world to rebuild.

The valley means nothing if there isn’t anyone to live in it.

Fighting is useless if there isn’t someone to fight for, otherwise it is “selfish and stupid”

Katara had to have a reason to return from Yon Rha. She needed to have Aang waiting for her. If she didn’t have a reason to stay, then she wouldn’t have a reason to go.

To have a reason to sleep, a person has to have a reason to wake up.

Katara: “Aang. He just took his glider and disappeared. He has this ridiculous notion that he has to save the world alone; that it's all his responsibility.”

Hakoda: “Maybe that's his way of being brave.”

(Bato: “For Katara, the Mark of the Brave. Your courage inspires us.”)

Katara: “It's not brave! It's selfish and stupid! We could be helping him! And I know the world needs him, but doesn't he know how much we need him, too? How can he just leave us behind?!”

(It was, in fact, not easy for Aang to ‘do nothing’)

BECAUSE EVERYTHING IN THE SOUTHERN RAIDERS--RIGHT DOWN TO THE SOUND DESIGN--IS ABSOLUTELY MONUMENTAL IN UNDERSTANDING THE SHOW, ITS MESSAGE, ENERGYBENDING, AND LITERALLY EVERYTHING ELSE

TLDR: Idk how the heck I’m going to arrange or articulate this analysis because it is WILD. Be warned: There is literally no exact beginning and ending to this analysis because the whole point of Yin and Yang is that is has no beginning or ending (...kindof...), so you’ll have to bear with me once I’m done editing it into something that’s somewhat coherent.

These are just SOME of the things I’ve been able to answer with my moon theory and analysis of The Southern Raiders as it currently stands:

Why “letting go” isn’t really letting go (as we understand it...see: Aang’s confrontation with Koh)

Believe it or not, every time Katara mentions her mother, it is at specific times for specific reasons.

^^^same thing for the moon, lack of moon, moon positioning, etc.

Katara’s mother’s necklace is more important than we realize.

Who the faces of Koh are and WHY they are there.

The true meaning of Jet’s sacrifice.

Why Jet’s episode about the dam explains the entirety of TSR as it pertains to Katara (all the way down to the little girl who runs to get her doll after the dam breaks)

^^^^^Aang’s definition of forgiveness is completely misunderstood by the fandom, and the way he “forgives” is sososo much deeper than “moving on”, and it is DEFINATELY by no means “doing  nothing” or “excusing” past actions.

The ocean is a deep, dark, unknown place with a lot of hidden monsters (like Yon Rah). Katara needed a light to find her monster, but she also needed somewhere she could breathe when she came back up for air.

If she didn’t have both Zuko and Aang, Katara would have drowned. 

I wasn’t kidding when I said this was a thesis, and what I’ve said and listed here isn’t even all that I have.

btw This all does line up on the traditional Yin Yang symbol we know and see in the show, but I don’t have enough space here for that lmao. That’ll be in the analysis

A talk in the Moonlight

A little story of my characters having a chat only the moon hears~ (1.1k Mentions of Alcohol, French.)

The moonlight lit her frame with a glow. Soft music like a ribbon twirling around her and weaving through her steps as she danced. Gliding like the bow across the strings in a small circle to an invisible partner.

A swish of noise.

A darken window.

Her playing stopped abruptly as behind her closed eyes she saw the lighting darken behind her lids. A shadow draped over her like a blanket. For a moment neither said a word, neither moved. She played a few more notes letting the last one ring out before lowering her instrument.

“You’re late”

“Oh dear songbird, how could I ever be late? The moon is still high in the sky.”

“And I said by 3 AM. It’s 4.”

The figure in the window chuckled lightly stepping down from the window and gently taking her free hand and kissing the back of it, “Forgive me. I had a run in with our mutual friend. They wanted some information and I had to give my price.”

“For someone who claims to only feel certain emotions,” Her tone clipped, “Mischievous certainly appears to have no such limitations.”

“They would never anger you.” The window figure stepped out from the light, removing the veil of shadow cause from the backlight of the moon. Slightly made their way over to the dresser where a case lined with velvet sat open. “Do tell, what does the songbird have to ask of little me?”

“Like you haven’t already guessed,” The musician huffed, joining the other by the case where she methodically began putting away her violin into it.

“I do so love hearing it from your lips, humor me chère?”

“I heard talk at one of my shows. A piece of little worth hiding a gem,” She turned towards him, eyebrow arced, and lips curled into a smirk, “Nothing a certain fox couldn’t find.”

“Of course not,” The other purred their own smile growing more mischievous, “But that is not all the little bird heard?”

“There may have been more talk of the gem meaning to distract the fox from the real prize. How loose lips get when assumptions are made,” The case closed with a click as the woman set it down on the floor and took a seat on the stool. “I trust they will find the fox can focus on more than what shines?”

“I know how to avoid being blinded,” The man undid the other’s hair from its bun and opened the top draw with an instinctual ease taking the brush out.

“Yue this is related to what our friend has been chasing. It’s not just diamonds involved.”

“You worry too much Yin. I may not have the experience they have but I can take care of myself. I’m not trying to let my presence be known. This time,” Yue tittered gently running the brush through Yin���s long hair.

“I know. The Midnight Kitsune already made their appearance, no one is expecting anything more from them for a while,” Yin commented, tilting her head back slightly and closing her eyes as he brushed.

“So I’ve gotten my quota for attention out of the way early,” He sent a grin into the mirror to which she peeked her eyes opened at but closed them again and hummed in response. “Enough about me, I am very interested to hear about the details of your show. Which role did you play that day?”

“The one who doesn’t understand a word being said. What did you call it dear thief?” She peaked an eye open at him with a lazy grin, “Joli petit accessorie? Pretty little accessory? I smiled and nodded as if I understood none of it.”

Yin remembered the smell most clearly. A hazy fog of smoke with the undertone of chemicals. Turkeys trying to appear as peacocks. Speak of money they did not have, and people they never met. Cheap cologne with an expensive name and cigars placed in boxes that made them appear imported. A miasma of a smell that made her duck her head to hide her face of disgust.

“They spoke of me like a prize. So amazed their host could get someone such as,” She pauses grimacing at the remembrance of the other words, “myself.”

The grimace did not escape Yue’s notice whose casual smile seemed to sharpen in the low light.

“Crude language aside, the host was so content to keep me close he was delighted when told I could not understand a word.” The awful grin the man sported as he rambled off words she dares not repeat. The man would have his dues, she was sure.

The dim lights of the room had only aided her. Her music wound its way around them, ease their tension and loosened their inhibitions. The liquor flowed with the tune, and she heard everything. She danced just out of reach from any straying hands, leaving them unsure if she knew or not. And she heard everything.

“Perhaps,” Yue purred dangerously, switching the brush for a comb, “I will need to comb through his other belongings.”

“Do you enjoy that pun?”

“Immensely.”

“Do what you will with them after you secure the item.”

“Oh? I am being given permission then?” Yue paused in his care leaning over Yin’s shoulder and using a free hand to brush her hair behind her ear. “Well?” His breathing tickling the shell of her ear, eyes flashed dangerously in the mirror as Yin looked directly at the reflection.

“Take the words as you will. The consequences are your own,” Her eyes close and Yue hums happily before pulling back and continuing his combing.

“I’m sure the rest would approve,” He pulls out a hair tie from his pocket and runs his hands through her hair to separate it into strands. The movement drawing a content sigh out of her.

“Remember Fox,” Yin gives a hooded gaze into the mirror, “Work first.”

“Oh dear la chanteuse,” Yue’s gaze meets her own as he ties off the braid and rests his chin on her shoulder, “This is all play.” He pressed a kiss against her shoulder as she closes her eyes laughing softly. When she opens then again Yue was back on the windowsill.

“Of course, regular thieving is far too easy for one who normally announces their heists.”

“Child’s play,” Yue replies, bowing with a flourish and making his cape swish out, “Adieu Songbird.” He leans back and lets himself fall.

He had never startled her with that trick. Like every other time she walked to her window, closing it with a clink, and turns her gaze to a building across the way. A shadow moves.

Yin smiles faintly going back over to the dresser and picking up the white rose tinged with orange at the tips. They should have taken caution. Don’t they know what it means when a songbird falls silent?

Well.

That would be their undoing.

The fox will find them. And the Oni will take them.
