ive mulled this over for a few days now because its like, i can either answer what i think the plant equivalent of the term 'beast' is or what plant i think embodies the term 'beast' the best, but in the end for both of them... i think welwitchia mirabalis

ive talked about these before, would give context but theres really not much to give. native to namibia and angola. can get to be a couple thousand years old. all the leaves are actually just two leaves that grow endlessly from the base and get shredded into strips that go everywhere over the plant's lifetime, so for instance the dying brown ends in this pic are significantly older than the newly-grown parts of the same leaf at the base. each plant is either male or female and makes funky cones to match. this one is 13 feet in diameter. looks like a pile of something. what are you gonna do

Tim has no idea whether to laugh or cry. Bruce sends him away from Gotham to stay safe from Red Hood, yet who is standing there, in the Titan Tower, but the man himself. And if he was attacking or something then fine, he could deal with it. But no, the man is standing there, in the kitchen, cooking like it’s an everyday thing. Like sure he’s cooking angrily and Tim swears he can see some sort of eye glow in the helmet, but it’s not like he’s actually threatening any of them?? The literal crime lord has been hissing about them not having any food and being out of medical supplies and who decided to leave a bunch of teens alone to take care of themselves. Which. Rude, he’s been taking care of himself for years, and both Raven and Beast Boy have too! What type of scheme is this?!

Jason was going to go through with his attack on the Tower, he really was. But seriously, they didn’t even have any medical supplies, their cupboards were practically empty of food, and they didn’t even have any cleaning supplies. For fuck’s sake he’d gotten in so easily and it was a giant tower shaped like a T- everyone knew where it was! Honestly it’s not his fault the pit rage went from being pissed to the literal child- which uh, huh he’ll have to freak out about that later- to raging about how he took better care of the alley kids than the heroes were taking care of their kids so guess whose going to have to fucking step up!

There's so many layers to this whole scene but this exchange in particular. When experiencing the story for the first time, it's obvious that the attention is going to be directed to the reveal of Dazai having been Akutagawa's mentor, a fact up to this point unknown to the audience. But on a second rewatch, and knowing everything we know about Akutagawa and Dazai's relationship… I feel like the thing that might have actually sent Akutagawa over the edge might be Dazai simply addressing Akutagawa as his former superior; Akutagawa being someone he doesn't recognize anymore. Whereas after all those years (and after this scene, too) Akutagawa has kept considering Dazai to be his one and only mentor still. Here, Dazai saying that he's his past mentor must have came as experiencing the trauma of abandonment all over again for Akutagawa. Which might explain why it's something that pushed Akutagawa's most hurting buttons so much, to the point he'd even retaliate by punching his beloved mentor and most respected person.

About that, i really like how physical Akutagawa's reaction is during this scene. He punches Dazai twice. And to me it really uses to express how conflictual and oxymoronic Akutagawa's state of mind is. He loves Dazai, but he's also enraged at him, feeling so betrayed for having been left alone without a word, all those years. He craves his recognition, but right here and now even that can't placate the relentless rage boiling inside him. The overwhelming feeling of frustration for himself before anyone else, because it's his fault for being so weak and incompetent that Dazai left him behind; and yet he can't help but take that frustration out on Dazai himself, symbolizing just how overbearing Akutagawa's emotions are, how he's not in control of them. I just think this scene is neat.

im back!! also holy fuck the uber was even more expensive then i thought, it says 15 on the app and 26 on the website and then when i booked one in the app it CHARGED ME 35 !! guy i met there gave me a ride back tho 4 free very cool, he, never told me, his name, uhhhhhhhhhh but thank u ! guy who uses he/it pronouns n has red hair and a butch lesbiuan car that barely works :3 i was really just sitting in silence making little guys for most of the program, and sitting in silence waiting for one of the organizors to bake the clay for me, but after i actually like, got up n was standing around instead of sitting in a corner making silly cats some people complimented my boots n then i got 2 actualley liek, feel like im, allowed to speak, idk everybody kinda knew eachother so i felt weird ever asking for anything or commenting on anything,, but once someone acvtualey approached me and asked me abt smthn i liek 2 talk abt it was alot bettor n we sat n chat in the lobby foar liek a solid 45 min - 1hr im thinkin of coming back soemtiem soon but using the bus witch will hopefully be cheaper then THIRTY FIVE DOLLARS FOR LIKE A 20 MINUTE DRIVE tho that does mean unless i get someone 2 drive me again im gonna have to be on the bus and walking around for multiple hours at 7-9 pm when its rlly fucking dark out so idk hear are thea creechers i made theyr kinda bad but i love them anywaey
