When the cast was asked what Avatar related tattoo they’d get, Zach really said he’d get a full neck tattoo of Katara with his full chest 💀

BOOK TWO: EARTH 2006
You must never give into despair. Allow yourself to slip down that road, and you surrender to your lowest instincts. In the darkest times, hope is something you give yourself. That is the meaning of inner strength.

I speak 4 languages and my Tik Tok algorithm knows that, so now that I’m obsessed with ATLA again my tik tok is full of clips from ATLA in those 4 (English + 3) languages. And it’s a Nickelodeon show from 2005 so I guess they didn’t put that much thought or effort into who would voice those characters in all those different languages, so it feels pretty sloppy at times. So now that I’ve seen certain moments of the show dubbed in different languages, it makes me really appreciate the original voice cast. They did such an amazing job! Especially since most of them were still kids or teenagers. Seriously, they’re freaking amazing!
I have to give a special shout out to Aang’s voice actor, because his voice is the most different in other languages, it’s either obviously a woman dubbing Aang, or a grown man trying so sound young. It just sounds wrong, as opposed to Zach Tyler Eisen being a little kid and doing such a fantastic job voicing Aang. The way he hits those emotional moments as a little kid actor is just fantastic.
Seriously, I’m so thankful the creators chose actual kids to voice the main characters. Goes to show you another aspect of the show they put so much thought into.

Capturing the Avatar (in real life)
Since the streams were basically mini-Avatar reunions anyways, Basco thought a formal gathering was a natural transition. The final piece of the puzzle was enlisting Aang's voice actor, Zach Tyler Eisen, who left acting after the series. The familiar parallel of tracking down Eisen in real life was not lost on Basco, who jokes that his journey mirrored the Fire Nation prince's own goal to capture the Avatar in the series.
"Once we got Zach, then let's just do the reunion because everyone else we're connected to one way or the other in L.A.," Basco says. "And it's funny because I mean, Zuko is looking for the Avatar. The little inside pun is 'I found him!'"
After a photographer friend of Basco's found an email connected to Eisen, the former costars got on the phone. Basco says he hopes the reunion will only be the start of Eisen rejoining the Avatar world.
"When we did the finale of Avatar: The Last Airbender on my Twitch, he just popped in for a second. And so I was like, 'I really want you to reunite with the whole Gaang,'" he adds. "A lot of us, we do cons together around the world and we're all still in industry working… and so I was like 'You gotta join the world. It's really fun.' He's like 'I'd love to." I was like 'Cool, let's do a reunion. And then once you do the reunion, just run with it. Welcome back. We're back, the Gaang's back together.'"

I remember when Zach Tyler Eisen came on the show, who’s Aang, who no one’s seen him in forever. And I got to get him on the show. I ran into him in New York and it was really kismet because it was like me, Zuko, finally capturing the Avatar and getting him on the show. It was phenomenal. It’s just so many. I mean, every time we got a new voice actor on the show, it was like seeing an old friend I haven’t seen in a while. So they’re so fun.
THIS MAKES MY ZUKAANG FEELS SOAR

Same anon from before: Zach Tyler Eisen as Aang, Spencer Fox as Dash from incredibles, Macaulay Culkin, Jim Parsons, Greg Cipes as Beast boy, and Billy Crystal as Mike Wazowski
Okay, writing this soon after I woke up. I saw this last night but decided I'd save it for the morning so I can listen to the voices and stuff.
Zach Tyler Eisen... Hmm.. I can see that. Not much to say in how the characters match. I watched a compilation of Aang having savage come backs, which would fit for CK. He might be a kind soul, but he will roost you. Also there were some scenes of Aang's fight with Admiral Zhao, and I wanna say that CK would totally mess with his opponent in that way. His magic isn't the strongest, so if he can use his wit and cunning to use his enemy's attacks against him? He will. Also it's funny to mess with people trying to attack you. Overall, not my favorite pick, but I'll put it on the poll regardless.
Spencer Fox I had trouble finding a voice reel/compilation of. So I'm listening to a voice comparison video of all Dash's different voice actors. Before anything I can say that the energy of Dash definitely fits CK so I have some hope for this one. Both are energetic and fast as well as huge pranksters. Listening to all 3 voices of Dash (Spencer Fox for the first movie, Raymond Ochoa for Disney Infinity, and Huck Milner for the second movie) I'd say they're all pretty good. Just not as... I guess iconic as I want? It'd be difficult to pick just one of those actors for example since their voices sound so similar to me. (I mean, guess that's sorta the point) I guess I'd probably choose Raymond Ochoa over the other too as his portrayal seems to fit the most for CK. But also I need to keep in mind the voices people will know. People might be familiar with the Incredibles, but I'm not so sure about Disney Infinity.
Moving onto Macaulay Culkin, that's the actor for the kid in Home Alone right? I struggled finding a compilation of his acting, and in the end, the compilation I put in my queue to watch was just pictures of the boy. What I remember of the movie did have Kevin be a little trickster and if CK was left home alone, he'd definitely set up all those traps and stuff, regardless of if his house was being robbed by burglars or not. The thing is I don't recall Kevin speaking all the much in the movie. Something that goes completely against the loud and rambunctious CK.
OMG finally an actor I can find a voice compilation for on YouTube!! One I didn't know Jim Parsons played so many characters, two, I never noticed the guy who played Sheldon on The Big Bang Theory was the same person who play Oh from Home. He also had a small role on Pound Puppies? Omg who remembers Pound Puppies? I liked that show. Okay, back on track. Uuumm... Yeah I guess I can see it. Especially hearing him play more energetic characters like Oh or... Buddy the Elf? Okay apparently he played an animated Buddy and honestly it's a little weird seeing (or, well, hearing) someone else but Will Ferrell play Buddy, but Parsons makes it work. Though tbh, I think Parson is sorta with Zach for me. In the "Meh" area where it could work but I think there could be better candidates. If I can't hear CK's iconic "MWEH HEH HEH! ALL SHALL FALL BEFORE I, THE MIGHT KING OF COMICS!" in the voice after I've listened to some examples, then I'm less confident in considering. Okay, maybe not that line exactly, but it's important for me to hear something CK would say in the voice. Or envision CK saying something the voice actor's said.
Anyways, moving on. Greg Cipes was another I was able to find a voices compilation of. Cipes has voiced... a lot of animated comic book characters, and other animated charcters. However yeah I could see his portrayal of Beast Boy for CK. Loud, energetic, has the annoying younger brother vibes. I might have to listen to more examples of Cipes voicing Beast Boy specifically to get a better opinion. There's probably plenty of clips on YouTube for that though. I mean, I just need to search up Beast Boy Teen Titans Go and parse through stuff. Oh, also didn't know he played Michelangelo on 2012 TMNT. (... wait who played Mikey in RotTMNT?) ... okay now hearing his voice some more, yeah I can see it. On the poll it shall go! Alright who's last...
Ah. Billy Crystal. The first thing I think of is "Put that thing back where it came from or so help me!" While incredibly funny, the voice doesn't fit CK. Nor that line. That'd be something Chicago would say, and I already have a VA for my Chi-boy. (Thankfully.) Still, for the sake of integrity, I shall listen to more examples of the voice. I just doubt it's gonna be a fit. While Mike Wazowski is comedic and loud, that's where I see the similarities between him and CK ending. I don't see Mike as all that energetic and well, in a world of monsters, they all seem a little wacky and chaotic. (Though, couldn't the same be said of CK's world I guess?)
Okay. I probably should have enough to put up the poll now? Alex Hirsh, Nicky Jones, Greg Cipes... Okay maybe I don't have enough. I decided to drop Jeremy Shada, just doesn't fit well enough in my head.
I guess keep the head canons coming.

Avatar: The Last Airbender is NOT anime
"Avatar: The Last Airbender" is a cartoon that aired on Nickelodeon from 2005 to 2008. It was created by Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko. The story revolves around Aang, the last Airbender, and the Avatar, along with his friends Katara, a water bender, Soka, a warrior, and Toph, a blind earth bender. The show follows their journey as they travel the world, preparing to take down the fire nation while also being chased by Zuko. The characters learn and grow from the people and the world around them. The show stars Zach Tyler Eisen as Aang, Mae Whitman as Katara, Jack De Sena as Soka, Michaela Jill Murphy as Toph, and Dante Basco as Zuko. In the last season, Zuko joins Aang and his friends to help Aang learn fire bending.

Avatar has been in the news a lot recently due to the subpar, live-action series. With all of the buzz around Avatar recently, many people have been calling it an anime, which not only is incorrect but shows a bigger problem in the animation fandom as a whole. Anime is great, it's a fun medium created in Japan many things fall under it as an animation genre things such as Sailor Moon or Death Note are anime and they are both beautifully animated and enjoyable to watch. Anime is so enjoyable in fact many western animators take a lot of inspiration from it, which can be seen in 2003’s Teen Titans and of course Avatar: The Last Airbender. This, however, does not mean these works are anime or are even close, they are Western cartoons, and about time as a community people start to recognize that.
Western animation is pushed to the side far too often, which is odd because it is everywhere, Not only in Avatar: The Last Airbender but in shows such as Adventure Time, She-Ra, and Invader Zim, all shows with significantly different art styles that have good and compelling stories so why is Avatar subjugated to being called anime something that it's not. Avatar: The Last Airbender is a Western animation and good at that and it's time people started calling it what it is to respect the people who made it and to respect the art form of Western animation.

BOOK ONE: WATER 2005
You know what the worst part of being born over a hundred years ago is? I miss all the friends I used to hang out with. Before the war started, I used to always visit my friend Kuzon. The two of us, we'd get in and out of so much trouble together. He was one of the best friends I ever had... And he was from the Fire Nation, just like you. If we knew each other back then, do you think we could have been friends, too?
