The question, "am I queer enough" is irrelevant when "let's get gayer together" is the answer (you know it's the right one)

Last Line Challenge
Got tagged a while back by the brilliant @theredscreech and @hawthornsword (thank you both!!), and today I had a good few hours to block out for writing, and, well, since I got tagged twice, I feel it only makes sense for me to share a longer section...
When he turns around, plates in hand, Cody is smiling. Obi-Wan nearly drops the dishes. He has a list of Cody’s smiles by now. He’d thought he’d known them. There was the I have a reputation to maintain smile. Mostly in his eyes, with only the barest angling of the lips. The this is so not funny, can’t you tell how not funny it is smile, usually accompanied by a twitch of a muscle in his cheek. The really, sir? smile, usually accompanied by a proffered lightsaber and/or a roll of his eyes. The okay, maybe this is a little bit funny smile, with his lips pressed together in a thin line that curved upwards despite his best efforts. The I can’t believe we’re still alive smile– shattered with shock, bared teeth and cracked eyes.  His favorites, though, have always been the unguarded ones.  Mostly surprised, at the beginning. The first time Obi-Wan had called him by his name. The first time Cody had called him by name instead of title. The first time Obi-Wan had brought him caf, and the first time he’d asked for his opinion on a new flavor of tea. The moment he’d realized Obi-Wan’s tentative offers of library log-ins and rec equipment and holomovies for the rest of the battalion weren’t carefully-set traps.  Then, later, as trust had been earned and given and shared– The exhausted ones. Broad and uninhibited, too tired for restraint. The kinder smiles, too, the ones saved for shell-shocked shinies and wary civilians, filled to bursting with confident reassurance that he would never save for himself. Soft smiles that shone like a lantern in the dark, the memories of which Obi-Wan kept tucked tight and bright behind his ribs. This one, though– Peacetime smiles, he decides, might be his new favorite.
No-pressure tags for @themonopolyhat, @aquaticflames, @bumbledees, @foreverchangingfandomsao3, @shadow-pixelle, @knittedgauntlets, and anyone else who wants to participate!

Been watching through Link Click with my brother for Sibling Anime Night and, as this is my second watch, there are all these little details that are just driving me crazy. I have to remember not to say a darn thing because he doesn't know yet, but geez. They put some thought into this. They knew what they were doing.
Here are a few:
Qiao Ling telling Cheng Xiaoshi that Lu Guang is way more mature than him despite being the younger of the two.
Near the end of the first episode (in the sub), Lu Guang very insistently tells Cheng Xiaoshi to never ask about the future.
In the Noodle Lesbians episode, Cheng Xiaoshi telling Lu Guang, "Just because you don't see a glimmer of hope doesn't mean it's not hiding somewhere," and Lu Guang's expression fading into this soft smile as he chuckles, as if he's thinking, "It's just like you to say something like that."
In the basketball episode, how jealous Lu Guang sounds when Cheng Xiaoshi high-fives someone else.
When Cheng Xiaoshi runs out to start warning people about the earthquake, Lu Guang gritting his teeth and shouting, "You can't save them. They are already dead!" And then hurriedly lecturing Cheng Xiaoshi on how much of a fixed point death is no matter how much you might want to change it. "No matter how hard this is, you can't alter their fates!"
Lu Guang: "The future that we now know could completely disappear." (dub) "It could even cause the disappearance of the life we have now." (sub)
In the Aunt May arc, the three superheroes that our main three dress up as being the Star of Justice, Bringing Hope (Cheng Xiaoshi), Star of Courage, Conquering Fear (Lu Guang), and Star of Wisdom, Lighting the Way (sub)/Serving Knowledge (dub) (Qiao Ling). Gods, I could write an essay just on that.
I just... I just wanna grab some of these characters and shake them. Maybe slap them a few times. Why they gotta be like this?

@pilferingapples recently said that Valjean interacts with Javert at the barricade in the exact same way you interact with a spider that got into your house. Valjean just scoops him up under a cup and puts him outside. And while that IS very accurate, personally that scene at the barricade reminds me more of when a feral raccoon gets into your house and keeps HISSING at you as you're trying to very patiently & gently scooch it out the door with the soft end of a broom
"You annoy me. Kill me rather." "Be off with you."

its so sad to me how qbagi is trying so hard to protect qcellbit while he goes on a killing spree of federation workers. and she doesnt agree with that, and her brother in law doesnt see her side, blinded by an unconditional trust for qcellbit. and she KNOWS how much danger qcellbit is putting himself in, but shes probably reaching a point where she thinks she cant stop him. and yet. AND YET, she will not let him go. because thats her twin brother, and they are not getting separated again. so she tells the cucuruchinho that she is responsible for the death of the workers. she will carry qcellbits weight, she will sacrifice her freedom and safety for her brother.
and what are the chances of him understanding that? didnt he want cucurucho to see all of the killings? as a form of revenge, of showing cucurucho how much they made qcellbit suffer. how will he react when he realizes qbagi took that satisfaction away from him? will he understand she was trying to protect him?

MistyNat Podcaster AU: When Nat starts a true crime podcast to prove that her on-again off-again boyfriend's suicide is really a murder, she knows it's a long shot. So when fan and avid commenter, "AfricanGrey" posts that she might have real evidence, Nat agrees to meet her. Nat's self-proclaimed "superfan" Misty is unfortunately just as unhinged as Nat feared she would be, but the validity of her research is not something Nat is willing to turn her back on. She never expects that choice to lead to the most frustrating and eye-opening road trip of her life.

Let's say chocolate is a metaphor for traditional relationships that happen to appear good but are too sickly sweet for Sanji to handle and after WCI he ends up not liking chocolate. At least for a while. He needs to move on from what happened first. But he wants to force himself to like it because he should like chocolate. It is one of the most basic ingredients when making sweets and it is also everywhere.
So what if it makes him want to throw up? What if his stomach betrays him when cooking? What if he needs to stop every two seconds to breathe because his lungs don't work properly when he smells chocolate? He will keep trying and trying to make it work. Everybody loves chocolate, after all, he should too.
But then, one day, Usopp sees everything he has around the kitchen. Like. That's an awful lot of sweets and a disgusting amount of chocolate and he doesn't seem like he has slept in a week. So of course he is concerned. "Why- What's all of this about, Sanji?" He tries to hide his nervousness with a laugh.
Sanji grips the counter tighter. So much his knuckles turn white. "I- I don't know. I guess I was just. In the mood for chocolate." But he doesn't sound sure at all. In fact, he looks like he's about to cry.
"Well." He looks around the room without wanting to touch anything but approaching Sanji a bit to check on him. "Luffy can have all of my portions because I kind of... Not like chocolate?"
"You don't- You don't like chocolate?"
"No? Too sweet. I actually pretty much hate it? The smell already makes me ill."
"Me too."
"You what?"
"I think I don't- I don't think I like chocolate anymore. Is that- I don't know if I ever did. Is that alright?"
"Why wouldn't it be alright, Sanji? It's just chocolate. Nobody can force you to eat it. Or cook it if you really don't want to."
And Sanji realizes that maybe... Maybe it is alright for him to not want chocolate, and a wave of relief takes over him for a solid second.
