[Rook pops out of nowhere to help Cloche when she stops at the courtyard.]

Rook: What seems to be making you so frantic, la petite clochette?

[Cloche looks at Rook in shock, fumbles with her box as she tries to tuck it behind her back. She attempts to play it cool]

Cloche: Master Rook, were you always there?

Rook: Why I was just following you around! When I saw your nimble legs skitter through the halls, I knew I had to know you were seeking.

Cloche: Then would you like to help?

Rook: Oui! Tracking is my specialty.

[Cloche tactfully leads Rook to the botanical gardens]

Cloche: Master Rook, thank you for your service.

Rook: ?

Cloche: I was able to find what I was looking for, and that was you. How about a reward?

[Cloche hands the box to Rook]

Rook: How cunning, stringing me along until it’s just the two of us.

Cloche: Will you be mine? [Steps closer]

Rook: Hmm… Perhaps I’ll admit defeat, just for today. Know that next time I won’t be so easily lured, trickster. [Leans threateningly close]

[Rollo’s Win]

Cloche: Master Rollo, will you accept this as a token of my affection?

[Cloche hands the box to Rollo]

Rollo: What are you trying to pull, Cloche?

Cloche: This is a negative control. From my gesture, gift, and words, what would you guess my intentions are?

Rollo: Trying to buy my favour with flattery and gifts?

Cloche: Define your “favour”.

Rollo: You said “affection”, did you not? It’s obvious the connotation of your words and the heart-shaped box is referring to the romantic sort.

Cloche: Yes! So even you can know what it means.

Rollo: If that’s all you’re looking for, then am I done?

[Cloche clumsily pushes the box towards Rollo]

Cloche: Now you are.

Rollo: …Let me guess, you were rejected by whomever you tried to pursue?

Cloche: Consider it a peace treaty between us.

Rollo: Heh, so you were. As if anyone would want a shameless backstabber like you.

not to be insane on main but my friend pointed out something I haven’t noticed in GK’s chapter where koito gets kidnapped and I’m going a little coo-coo

pardon the russian frames, I can’t be bothered to find the ones in english, but look here: the second frame, ogata putting his hand on koito’s back after he hears that his father is going to let him die and apologizes for failing to be like his brother. is ogata showing fucking compassion here.

plus the fact that he gives him food and it couldn’t have been tsurumi’s orders since it’s the same snack he gave koito before and I could’ve ruined the whole plan

hmm. ogata showing something resembling humanity one time in the whole narrative and it’s when he’s pretending to be someone else. damn. fucked up if true!
