The only reason why people assume that I “sexually harassed minors” is because someone younger whom I met when I was 16 proposed to me first, and people rushed to assume the worst once they found out.

It also bears mentioning the concept of “Romeo and Juliet laws”, laws in some US states that rule that, if two people were both minors when they met and close enough in age (usually 5 years), statutory rape does not apply. It was made to correct this kind of stupidity happening, where two minors started dating and one turned 18 first so they’re called a pedophile.

A transmedicalist is someone who posits that being transgender is principally a physiological and psychological condition whose symptoms can be managed with the right healthcare. This shouldn’t be considered a bad thing, since it advocates for the right for trans people to get the care and resources they need to lead a better life, and to prevent people who would be harmed by the necessary harsh chemicals from getting harmed by them.

A TERF, however, is someone who doesn’t believe that trans people actually exist. To a TERF, a trans woman is “a trans-identified male”, a man who’s pretending to be a woman. This is incompatible with any view that defines transgender people in any way other than “they aren’t real men/women”.

“A transmedicalist TERF” makes as much sense as “the only choice”; if there aren’t at least two options, there isn’t a choice to make, making it not a choice. It makes as much sense as “a triangular square”; a shape can’t have 3 sides and 4 sides at the same time, nor can it have internal angles that add up to 180° and 360° at the same time.

Anyway, I’m getting sick and tired of being unfairly gatekept out of the fandom of a game that I grew up with and still care a lot about. But I think it may be time for me to let the trolls win and stop caring about it, if it means I don’t have to be constantly talked over by self-appointed e-vigilantes who barely know how productive I’ve been and how many friends I made in a new community I’ve created for myself. (It’s a certain trivia game that I’ve programmed, written, and voiced myself.)

I love these assholes! Whether together or separately, they're ambitious and awful and smart. A few starter thoughts:

Delilah's thoughts on her art, her art style and how she developed it! Talk nerdy to me. I love that about her, that her art is magic and evil but she's also a legit famous artist in-universe with a really distinct style.

I likewise love that Breanna also has a full-time job with a prominent social position and a heavy workload as the head curator of the Conservatory! What is her day-to-day life like? The notes we see from her about the magic she's working on are so analytical and scientific, too - I'd love to get into her head more.

Delilah/Breanna villain fluff

A World as it Should Be that's more like THIS, or at least more like in the closing narration where it talks about how all her subjects loved her and she had a bunch of adventures

Witch recruitment/assembling

I dearly wish the player could have recruited Jindosh, like we recruited Sokolov, who was equally horrible, in the first game. Jindosh's motivation is to prove that science is great, anyway; I bet he'd be persuadable. And then he could make machines for you!

Breanna and Jindosh's terrible friendship/working relationship. Is their distaste for everyone else enough to overcome their distaste for each other? Put them at a fancy party (Luca’s or otherwise) kvetching about other people. Get them drunk. Give them another project to collaborate on.

Fandom: Motherland: Fort Salem (Trick/Treat - Fic)

Character(s): Original Historical Witch(es)

The alternate history that the show has created is so interesting and I’m craving expansion of that through fic! Tell me about the Bellweather ancestor who was a slave and ended up powerful and influential enough to begin a dynasty, and how she met and was recruited by Alder. Or other enslaved witches, witches in the American Revolution or the Civil War, or the founding of Fort Salem and standardization of American military magic with its various influences. How were these women able to teach each other and to win not only freedom but power? Were they able to get other enslaved women free via their own position in the military? What even was the original original witch military like in the 1690s and shortly thereafter, the whole process of making this witchery into a military; who were the key people involved?

Or Chinese or Jewish or Mexican immigrant witches (that wasn’t an exhaustive list) who maybe came from different magic traditions and might have had to make the choice of whether or not to reveal that they had magic (if the system knows you because of your descent in the country?), serving their country but also binding their daughters and granddaughters forever. (I appreciate, for example, that there are a couple of Asian actresses in the cast and that some of them are even “High Atlantic” American royalty, but they all have English names - I want to know their families’ stories in the same way that we have an idea of how influential Black witches were to the witch military!) What did they bring to the American magic tradition and what did they have to lose or sand off?

Fandom-Specific DNW: I didn’t enjoy the overt eugenics plotline in season 2 and would prefer that nothing about breeding witches for stronger magic or particular traits (as opposed to any social reasons for arranged marriage and high society matching) be present in the fic.

'Tis the season for spooky Sleep No More fic/art! I love fic and art that allows me to mentally revisit the atmosphere of the McKittrick. (I apologize that I'm not a frequent art requester nor do I have an especially visual mind, so I don't have great or many art prompts, but the main thing I want out of SNM art is The Vibe, tbh. Non-drawn art, like embroidery or something, would also be really cool if that happens to be your jam?) Caution: Spoilers for Porter's 1:1, if you care about that.

You can probably tell from my character picks that I'm the sort of guest who sees any part of the actual Macbeth plot happening and wanders away to look at something else. Proud 4th floor stan here - I love all the small magic and folk magic up there, the precise little rituals that reach out to or guard against the world of darkness and magic that is Outside their town but also underlying/intertwined with it - but I also hung out with the Porter a lot last time and I love him now. I'm really interested as well in how magic and outsider-ness and queerness all interact in the world of SNM - stuff like:

the occasional new cross-casting of Speakeasy Bartender! (side note: I'd read the character as a butch woman, learned afterwards that the performer is nb and uses she/they pronouns, but either way, it's interesting to me that this Speaks is a gender non-conforming character in a way the usual one is very much not. I'm also pretty psyched that some of the show ephemera now refers to the character in a gender-neutral way. Please take it as read in this letter that Female Speakeasy Bartender refers to the gender non-conforming version of this character.)

the way that the Fulton/male!Speakeasy duet where they search each other for witch marks starts off like they're trying to pick each other up

the intense queerness of Fulton's trip to the speakeasy, whether that's about having an extremely homoerotic encounter with a male Bartender that he may or may not have partly sought out, or a confounding one where not only is he entering this underworld location to confront a creepy magic person, but there’s also the gender transgression aspect of f!Speaks (and on the other other hand, she’s not the way he might have envisioned a witch either!)

by structural design, the canon can't really engage with race and racism, but I'd be fascinated by a story that got into a character being a racial/ethnic minority in Paisley/McK in a non-race-blind-casting way

Anti Cassarian Post

TW: Mentions of abuse, drugging, assault/rape, pedophillia, incest, and proshitting (this will VERY much play into the topic)

Anytime I see some fuck-wad make a long thread or comment about why Cassarian isn’t a proship, or why its supporters are “victims of harassment from the anti’s and uWu” the only thing that comes into my mind are these images (if they’re different sizes, sorry)

My main argument against this ship is that Cassandra a 26 year old woman, and Varian is a 17 year old boy. That alone should be any good reason not to ship this. However an additional reason as to why this ship should die in hell is because Cassandra abuses Varian a lot throughout the series and this is the BIGGEST and by far the worst case for this. @rachelbethhines mentioned it in her review of Cassandra’s Revenge, and I feel the need to credit her for bringing this info to life, but Cassandra [off-screen] assaults Varian and knocks him out, and then proceeds to drug him in his sleep, and then coerces him once he wakes up. Not to mention he proceeds to re-imprison him and hold him over a far ledge where any attempt at escape would lead to his doom.

There have been MANY situations where someone will get their partner drunk in order to get them under the influence and do things that they wouldn’t agree on doing if they were sober. This is often called the “date-rape” and yes, it is illegal (or at least I very much HOPE it is). 

And before I get any comments on how “Duh, that’s the point, she’s the villain,” the show tried to paint her as sympathetic and she receives no consequences for this, nor does Varian get any form of justice for what she does to him or his home. Cassandra is and always will be Varian’s abuser and nothing can or will erase that. What’s also sick is that in the 2nd-to-last episode, Varian is shamed by Rapunzel for wanting to use a weapon to protect Corona from Cassandra. Y’know, after 5 episodes ago, she smiled at doing bodily damage to him, and one episode later, he mind-wiped his father, aunt and uncle. So we have the case of a victim wanting to stand up for themselves but being shot down by someone who has enabled said abuser.

And y’all still ship them?!??

NO.

If you have to age a canonically underage character up to ship them with a canonically adult character, you missed the point of why shipping them is wrong, and the point I made above, wouldn’t absolve this ship’s shittiness.

“But Rapunzel and Flynn had an age ga-”

FUCKING. NO.

Rapunzel and Eugene were both consenting adults who grew to understand each other and neither tried to abuse one another (at least in the film).

If you have to use the existence of another ship to justify your bad ship, guess what? That doesn’t absolve your ship as being bad! Especially if it’s a proship. You could easily just not ship it at all. It’s basic fucking logic.

That... literally does not mean anything. At all. Shipping minors with adults is still pedophillia and [hopefully] hella illegal. Fiction affects reality. There’s a reason we put trigger warnings on movies, tv episodes, or even fan-fics (assuming that you are actually considerate of people’s triggers unlike *SOME* people). There’s a reason why some topics like incest are never used at all (for example, the Lion King films had to re-write their stories to avoid incest in the final cut). Because fiction is a product of, and therefore affects reality. A child, or anyone impressionable in general, does not need to see fan-art of a child marrying an adult who previously tried to crush him to death. 

Imagine if someone who is a victim of pedophillia saw people shipping someone their age with an adult and defending it to the high heavens. Or if someone at the age of 20, or an adult in general saw people comfortable with shipping someone their age with a literal child. When you truly open up your eyes, this is actually a dangerous ship to support in a fandom filled with minors. 

Cassandra x Varian has the same problem as Chris Kratt x Martin Kratt. It’s downright abusive, offensive to people who have gone through similar situations, and the glorification of these ships can lead to impressionable minors mimicking these pairings and thinking it is OK. And worst of all, it’s usually adults who ship this. Like, human beings with fully developed cortexes, and one of the few creatures with the ability to speak and all you’re here doing is pairing an adult with a kid, or shipping two real-life brothers and making art-work of them? (I’ll give Cassarian credit that I am yet to stumble across any R34 art of them and I wish to keep it that way)

So bottom-line, Cassarian is a toxic ship, not only because it is a proship (pedophillia) but because it ships a victim of physical and psychological abuse, with their abuser.

The creator, Chris Sonnenburg himself even claimed that Cassandra loves Varian “as a friend.” Even though I call BS on the idea that Cassandra was ever a “friend” to Varian, or that Varian would reciporicate anything Cassandra throws at him (y’know that isn’t the embodiment of death), I do find some relief that this ship is offically non-canon and I hope the rumors of a storyboard artist confirming a ship are nothing more than false rumors (if not, I am genuinely going to burn my computer /hyp)

I frankly do NOT care if I get cancelled or sub-tweeted for this. I’ve been holding in this rage for soo fucking long and it’s time I get it out now because this needs to be said.

Excellent casefic setup, very interesting premise and some very dynamic characters. Also, really A+ backstory for Gavin. This is basically a classic for anyone who wasn’t around in the early days of fandom. Highly recommend!

3. His Robin by wolfetz Rated T (drama, language): Absolutely fantastic coming of age story set in a human!AU world. Really great character work for both Connor and Gavin and their relationship through the years. Love this one.

4. A Scratched CD/A Faulty Code by consecrated Rated T (mental health issues, language): Companion pieces told from Gavin and Connor’s POVs respectively. These were also very early fics I read when I was first getting into the fandom and I love them both dearly. The characterization here went a long way towards me loving the ship to begin with. A great intro to Convin.

5. That Boy is a Powder Keg by QueenHarleyQuinn Not Rated (language, violence, mature content, mental health issues): One of the most realistic takes on Gavin going from his canon asshole self to someone who could feasibly be in a relationship with Connor. 8. So Pathetic and So Lovely by alekszova Rated M (language, drama, mental health issues, mature themes): I think the fic’s description speaks for itself here: “ Neither Gavin or Connor think they are capable of being loved by the other, but that doesn't mean it's true.” Definitely worth a read.

This is kinda about pro- and anti-shippers, but it's really more about fandom culture in general and just my experiences. You can read it, if you want, or not.

I've been doin' this for a while. A good fifteen years at least, closer probably to sixteen. I've been doing things in fandom for longer than some of my mutuals have been alive.

And there's something I gotta tell you guys, both as a person who has been doing fandom-y stuff for years and for someone who literally has college degrees in English Literature and Creative Writing.

Being an anti is not normal.

And I know that comes across as harsh and mean and it sounds unreasonable but I'd like to explain what I mean by that.

I can trace back being an anti to two main sources: Voltron and Star Wars. I was never into Voltron or really even around anyone who was but I remember the screaming and fighting over the ships, and I remember the hellish crusade that began when people dared to ship Rey and Kylo Ren together. It was nasty, guys. It was absolutely insane that suddenly people were doing this over fictional ships, that people were being sent actual abuse and hatred because someone wanted the broody shitlord man and the unwashed desert scrounger to smooch. Like... imagine that in real time.

I was not, nor have I ever been, a Reylo shipper, but you know what I did, when that ship began, and I didn't like it? I ignored it and went about my day. Because that's how I was taught. Nothing in the fiction world was worth fighting over. It was not worth getting into arguments over. What was the point?

Then the antis got bolder, started branching out, and when people like me started standing up and saying, "Hey, stop being a dick to people!" someone hired the world's best PR machine and suddenly people who were not antis were pedophiles and abusive and incestuous.

How's that for some whiplash.

This anti movement of berating, bullying, harming, and threatening has been their MO, and it's dangerous. And now, they all buy their own bullshit. They actually think people like me are all out here twisting our mustaches like Snidely Whiplash and diddling kids. Without a shred of irony, they believe this.

Proship only labeled itself that as a response to the antiship, and antiship, make no mistake, named itself first. It was not anti-pedophile. It was not anti-incest. It was not anti-abuse.

It was all about disliking fictional ships that other people enjoyed, and thus attacking people over it.

And it's pointless. It's driven a child to suicide. It has gotten people fired. It has ruined careers, livelihoods, friendships. For nothing. For a boogeyman that doesn't exist.

Sex experts across the board all agree that what gives us our jollies is not at all what we want in real life. There's some wild statistic like 70% of women have had a sexual fantasy about rape at least once in their lives. About rape! That act that most AFAB people have a deep ingrained fear of! And we've used it to get off! Because sexual fantasy isn't that deep. Our brains are idiots. And since time immemorial, we as humans have written just the most fucked up shit.

It's even in the Bible. Humans have been nasty forever. And it doesn't mean shit.

It's in the TV shows. It's in our movies. It's in our books. It's in our music, our podcasts, everything. Being an anti is not the way of humanity at all. Ever. Except for like... maybe the puritans but they sucked so who cares about them.

Antis believe a lie. They believe a lie and they hurt people for it. I am not in any way, shape, or form exaggerating when I say I am fearful for those who regularly interact with me, because I am worried that one day the art they make or the "clout" they carry isn't going to be enough to save them from their friendship with me and antis will tear them to shreds. Because that is how they behave. They may not think they're bullies, and they may think they're in the right, but I want you to look up the Youtube RPF kid who killed themselves over anti harassment. Look at that horrible ask I just got. This is how they behave.

And that is what proshippers stand against. It's a stance against bullying, harassment, threats. That is it. There are plenty of proshippers out in the world that would never, ever think of writing anything involving someone underage, or between relatives, or involving anything gruesome. Because that's not what it's about.

Antis are new in the world of fandom, and they are the absolute root of toxicity. I do not exaggerate. They waste the time of agencies actually trying to eradicate CSAM by sending them art someone drew of a teenage character that isn't real. They've driven people to suicide. They've outright admitted to not caring about actual humans as much as they care about fictional ships. They have shown time and time again that they are not above abuse, vitriol, and bullying. There are blogs that post stories from ex-antis who say they were afraid to say anything different than their anti friends for fear of righteous backlash.

I repeat: I am legitimately afraid that my friends are going to get dogpiled and harassed because they dare to be my friend. That fear is not baseless. And it's all because of the way antis act.

I am liberal with the block button. I try to maintain boundaries because I don't want to see any of that shit as much as they don't want to see any of mine (though only a very scant few actually block me back, which is a joke in and of itself). But it still slips through. And I hate it, every time I see it.

Because this is not the way we're supposed to be. We are not supposed to be at odds with each other. We are supposed to share and have fun and be joyful about some people in lycra.

But because some people wanted to put on the pilgrim hat and play Morality Council to someone who's been doing this for years, I gotta tiptoe around people that think I'm actually out in the world diddling children. Do you know how fucked up that is. Do you know how that feels? To not only have someone make that judgment without any evidence, but to tell it to other people who don't know me either?

When someone finally snaps and starts biting back, it's not out of nowhere. And antis never, ever see themselves as doing something wrong. But they are. They are wrong.

Can I let you in on a little secret?

If you think it's wrong to bully someone because of fiction, then you're proship. That is the long and short of it. No more or less. I hate to break it to you, but that is the only definition, and anyone who says it's something else is lying to you for their own gain.

And sure, there are lots of people who try to hide behind the proship label as they do shitty things. But antis do the same. Humans being assholes and trying to blame it on something else is not new.

The fact that people have come to me and told me that the antis have made them feel uncomfortable, that they're afraid if they do something they might view as negative they might receive hate, that people are actually AFRAID of people in this fandom, is not okay.

There was a fandom I was involved in where one of the prominent people actively hated me and I was never afraid of what she would do. I am afraid of the antis in this fandom, though. Because they have teeth and they like to use them.

Fandom isn't supposed to be like this. Nobody should be screaming at teenagers for talking to adults in fandom, infantilizing them like they're not a whole autonomous human. Nobody should be telling someone to kill themselves because they ship Tuggerstrap. Nobody should be afraid of the other people in their fandom.

Antis, if any of them even read this (I doubt it, but just in case), I want you to look around. The people who are neutral are not afraid of what the proshippers will say to them. They are afraid of you. You and your ilk are the ones causing the damage, and you are the outliers in the entire world of fiction. You're a loud minority that thinks it knows better when it knows absolutely nothing.

Ruminate on that.

My blog is still a safe space from bullying, abuse, and nastiness. If someone is being mean to you, you will always find a friend here. And if you can't say the same, then what's wrong with you?

Hiya! I’ve seen you talking about ao3 a lot and up until recently I agreed with many of the posts you’ve been reblogging, but I think you have a little bit of a misinterpretation about why people r presently pissed off at ao3?

Sure, many people (perhaps even most) are angry for the usual puritanical reasons that you’ve been discussing, and I agree that for the most part fiction is fiction and idc what anyone does so long as I can filter it all out. You do you and all that.

But the most recent swell of criticism is bc ao3 has refused to take down rpf (real person fic) smut of minors—not fictional characters, real life children who happen to be particularly popular right now. The specific fic that spawned recent outrage is about a minecraft YouTuber/Twitch streamer who’s 16 years old, but obviously there’s many more which include his friends and other similar instances of rpf involving children.

I don’t think it’s a slippery slope to set the boundary at “don’t write about actual living children fucking” and to pretend as if this criticism of ao3 is equivalent those who want to wipe out all taboo topics or troubling fics involving fictional characters is just absurd. These are real people, real children, who are directly affected by people sexualizing them, especially if it’s left unchecked and allowed to happen more and more.

I hope you can understand where I’m coming from. Again, if this were just the same fandom bullshit over again, I’d fully agree with your opinion; I’m telling you this in the hopes of informing you more about the situation.

Ohh I didn’t know about this particular bit. First of all, let me just make it clear - that’s the most disgusting shit I’ve ever read - and I’m a die-hard “let people ship what they want” person. This sheds a new light on the whole thing.

Personally, i never liked the concept of real person fic. I see a lot of fics about bands like Rammstein where the members hook up and whatnot just as characters in fic do and not only it is not my cup of tea, it actually squicks me.

I wasn’t part of the Dan and Phil fandom generation but i do remember hearing about them being super uncomfortable with people shipping them, as I would be if I were a vlogging with my friend and people suddenly started writing stories about us falling in love/kissing/having sex ect etc.

The thing is, I don’t know if messing with the tags is even an effective form of protest - Ao3 already had a nearly finished, now released new skin that hides excessive tags. Anyway, that’s not the point.

It’s a complex situation. Older fandom people remember and dread events like the strikethrough - tons of stories lost forever because the “think of the children” crowd didn’t want anyone reading or writing smut fics about anne rice’s vampires or something, mainly driven by homophobia.

The Ao3 was built to be a space safe from censorship, and I, as an author of themes such as torture, abuse, gore, etc, am glad that my work won’t be suddenly pulled out thanks to their team of lawyers and their flexible terms of use. I believe that their issue with censoring these works is falling into a slippery slope of “ok so if you blocked rpf now you have to ban other ‘wrong’ content such as noncon/dubcon, abusive relationships, etc etc.” and then suddenly you can’t write anakin/padmé content anymore no matter how OOC bc he choked her to death in canon.

I have no answers for this particular conundrum. Like, me, personally, I would ban rpf. It’s in poor taste and there are actual living, breathing people whose lives could be affected by that. If I found a fic where someone had written my bff and I having raunchy, explicit sex, I would feel awkward being around them.

The whole ship-and-let-ship policy means - at least to me - “let people write what they want, these fictional characters are fictional and therefore they don’t care” and that argument just doesn’t hold up when it comes to rpf.

Maybe not giving reads, kudos or comments to this kind of fic is a start. Reporting these fics upon finding them outside of Ao3 (i.e: on twitter), too.

Report any and all attempts to send these fics to the kids themselves, they shouldn’t have to see/deal with this crap (seriously, have y’all learned nothing from the whole avengers mess, where ppl would send graphic porn art to the actors??), don’t do that shit! Aside from being abusive and gross, that’s a whole ass fucking CRIME. These are kids!!!

Since The Draco Trilogy had both Draco/Hermione and a lot of Harry/Draco subtext, fans of both ships flocked to the fic.

The Plagiarism 

Although she’d done it all along, it wasn’t until the second fanfic, Draco Sinister, that fans began to catch on. What was “it?”

Cassie including a lot of quotations from other work. And I mean a LOT. She lifted entire conversations and paragraphs from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Black Adder, Red Dwarf, and Terry Pratchett. At first she didn’t even mention this “inspiration,” so everyone assumed that this wit was all hers.

Once she was called out, she put a standard disclaimer at the top of her work, which was worded to imply that she might have borrowed a few, small quotes here and there, not that she was taking paragraphs and scenes. When she was called out for her continued plagiarism she switched to claiming that she “forgot” what her sources were.

Finally a former fan called Avocado got tired of it and reported her to ff.net. Within a day her works were taken down.

Predictably the fandom melted down over this and accusations began to fly. Cassie used her status as a BNF to ban anyone mildly critical of her from any message board or mailing list. A friend of Cassie’s claimed to be a real life lawyer and harrassed young fans with seemingly legal threats. There are even threats of people calling the police in an early form of “swatting.” Cassie tried to get a “hater” kicked out of university for “hacking” her and a REAL lawyer had to be involved before Cassie admitting to making it all up.

After all that began to die down, as she was working on the third installment of the trilogy, Cassie began accusing her friend and fellow BNF, Aja, of plagiarizing her. When that failed to incite the anger she wanted against Aja, Cassie began to claim that Aja was posting leaked spoilers for the Draco Trilogy. This infighting between the two lead to the collapse of The Inner Circle.

Laptop Gate

Although the third part of the Trilogy wasn’t as popular as the first two, due to the plagiarism scandal, it still racked up a ton of views when she began posting it. So when there was a potential threat to the continuation of the saga, readers were horrified.

This potential threat was a break in and the loss of Cassie’s computer.

Almost immediately after the robbery was announced Cassie’s lawyer friend (who was also her roommate) popped up again. This time, they were raising money to replace the laptops of Cassie and her roommates that had been stolen in the break in. Any extra money from the fundraiser would go to some vaguely mentioned charity.

Divisive comments poured in.

Some people expressed frustration that more “meaningful” fundraisers (like someone who had lost everything in a fire) didn’t get anywhere near as much attention and support.

Fans were even less happy when no proof was provided of either the break in or the charitable donation of excess funds (which was reported to be over $10,000).

When called out they changed the subject and posted links to another fan that was also fundraising (although they never posted any charity before or after, even when asked to do so the lawyer friend claimed to be “too busy” to share a link).

Published Works

After enjoying her celebrity as the Queen of Fanfiction, it’s no surprise that Cassie decided to venture into actual, original published works.

Except they weren’t that original, because it’s Cassie and she really, really seems to like “borrowing” from herself and others.

Let’s start with some name changes

Cassandra Claire (with an i) is her fanfiction name

Cassandra Clare (without an i) is her published name

You may be surprised by how well this name change suited her. For a long time, before exposes began to be posted, you could google her published name without finding out about her history in fandom. Additionally, some of her victims from her fanfic days read her published books without realizing who the author actually was (until they started to recognize the quotes and paragraphs that she’d lifted straight from her fanfiction)

Her Writing

“Mortal Instruments” is Cassie’s Ginny/Ron incest romance fanfiction.

“The Mortal Instruments” is Cassie’s published work, about two fake siblings who fall in love with each other.

Similarities to Harry Potter

Now I haven’t read Mortal Instruments or The Mortal Instruments so I’ll let someone who has read them both do some explaining:

When I opened the book, I knew that Clary was Ginny. Alec was Harry. Isabelle was Clare’s version of Blaise (who back then was not officially male or female, and could therefore be interpreted by fandom either way). Valentine was a strange mixture of Lucius and Voldemort. And Jace, of course, was undeniably Draco.

Jace is so Draco, in fact, that it’s impossible to see him as his own character. The way Clare characterizes Jace is the exact same way she characterized her Draco. They share lines (the ones she didn’t steal from Buffy, of course), they share nervous tics, they share appearances, and they even share memories. The second I read the scene in which Jace tells Clary the story about the boy and the falcon, I felt an unpleasant jolt of recognition: that story is one Draco tells in one of the Draco Trilogy installments. I couldn’t remember which one. I couldn’t even remember who Draco told it to (Harry? Ginny? Hermione?). But I knew it was if not word for word taken from her fanfiction, it was very, very close.

Yikes. That’s a lot of similarities.

The same person I quoted about went on to say that the fanfiction was still much better than her published work, and that she’d rather re-read the fanfic than the non-fanfic.

Sherrilyn Kenyon and Dark Hunters

Almost immediately after The Mortal Instruments (the non-fanfic one) became popular, Sherrilyn Kenyon slapped it with a lawsuit for copying her urban fantasy series, Dark Hunters.

Kenyon fans attacked Claire fans, Cassie’s history was brought to light, and Cassie got to pull out her favorite argument “you hate me because I’m Jewish.” Which is interesting, because I’ve been working on this for two weeks, and I only just learned that she’s Jewish when I read about her accusing others of anti-Semitism.

Now as Cassie apologists will tell you, Kenyon did ultimately lose that suit, but it’s really, really starting to get repetitive over here.

I’ll borrow a quote from Ryan Givens, “If you meet an asshole in the morning, you met an asshole. If you meet assholes all day, you’re the asshole.” Or in this case, maybe you’re the plagiarist.

And look, I’m not saying that Cassie is a narcissist, but here’s a fun little saying called The Narcissist’s Prayer:

Does any of that sound familiar, because it should. It’s basically Cassie’s text book responce of “avoid admitting fault until there’s too much proof, say I didn’t do it on purpose, blame someone else, claim to be the victim, find another person to accuse of drama.”

Now I’m going to again quote from ProblematicYA because I absolutely love their writing. In this quote, they’re talking about how all of Cassie’s books, even those set in different times or cities, follow the same pattern. Non-Shadowhunter meets Shadowhunter (who is basically Draco).

So what’s really my problem? My problem is the fact that Cassandra Clare is a marginally talented writer who has one story and one cast of characters up her sleeve, and yet somehow she’s sold millions and millions of books based on this. My problem is the fact that Cassandra Clare’s Mortal Instruments series was partially copied from her fanfiction trilogy, which copied a plethora of other authors, not even including J.K. Rowling, who provided her with the characters, premise, and setting for her beloved trilogy. My problem is the fact that Cassandra Clare is in the authorly equivalent of a time loop, and has come full circle. My problem is the fact that Cassandra Clare is, in essence, writing fanfiction of her own work, and it is getting published and she is getting paid bank for it, when other far more original and talented authors are getting absolutely nothing for their hard work. I may despise Stephenie Meyer and the world she’s created, but at least Twilight and its accompanying works are her own original product; at least she deserves to reap the benefits of the crazy fandom she’s inspired.

Look. I don’t believe in dredging up ancient history just to hurt people. Shit we did when we were teens shouldn’t be held against us as adults. People grow and change a lot from what they were as teens.

But bitch, you actually have to GROW AND CHANGE. And Cassie hasn’t.

Also, try actually apologizing for what you’ve done instead of silencing critics.

I’m usually so positive so now you’ve done it. You’ve unlocked me complaining about random shit that doesn’t usually matter. Because the damn busted wide the fuck open! Okay, so I’m going to approach this as outside of smut fics with intense kinks I can’t stand (vore, foot fetish, scat play, etc), because that’s me getting squicked and/or triggered and not just tropes that I wish would die in a fire.

My only disclaimer up front is that if you love most of these (hopefully it’ll be obvious which ones I will not forgive/excuse you from), that’s awesome! Go for it! Read it, write it, print it out to loving re-read and paste on the walls! Fandom is, in large part, about finding your niche and enjoying what you enjoy pretty much shamelessly. So I’m not passing judgement on anyone who enjoys reading or writing (most of) these.

Crossover Fics/Rule 50

My main gripe with this is that without fail a series I love get crossed over with a fandom I either don’t care about or hate. Every time I’ve tried to force myself to read one it’s never worked out for me. Sometimes fics aren’t properly tagged and I’m getting into the setting only for other characters from another fandom to suddenly show up and literally I instantly loose interest. The closest I got to writing a crossover fic, was on FF.net where I had all the characters I wrote for “talking to me” when I hit a big wall of writer’s block in the hopes that writing something so different and strange for me would help. It didn’t. It was interesting for 0.2 seconds to wonder how characters would interact, but then I instantly lost interest because I end up leaning so heavily of character tropes to make it work which, for me, isn’t fun to read or write.

Like, just write fusion! I like fusion! I’m currently writing a SPOP-SW fusion! It allows me to play with characters in a fun world that I already understand, but without the frustration of characters becoming more 2D or very OOC (or both) to force them to interact with one another. Rage Fics

Honestly? If you write and post rage fics, fuck you. Full stop. Fuck you. 

I’m about to tangent, but I swear it’s related. This is the equivalent of someone tagging a character or ship or fandom they hate in a post bashing them or blasting them to hell and back. Fucking beyond rude and obnoxious. That’s what rage fics are cranked up to 11. You are 100% allowed to hate on fandom/character/ship/trope/whatever the fuck, but when you do that shit you are forcing people who enjoy the media to see/interact with your BS because you fucking tagged it to show up where we are. A great example here in SPOP is Catra. I love her! I understand why some people don’t, and they’re 100% allowed to hate her and resent that so many people like her. Recently I went to the Catra tag to find art and fic, maybe some of the top notch meta this fandom puts out if I was lucky, and got stuck seeing post after post after meta post comparing her to another character in the show to explain why she’s an awful person, badly written character, and anyone who likes her (but didn’t like the poster’s fave) was an idiot/asshole/troll/bitch/dumbass and you know what? I went from having a decent time decompressing after a shitty day at work to getting fucking sent around the sun with stress. Like, bro, I’m here to ENJOY myself thanks, and when you tag things I go to for fun and fluff when I’m out of spoons and ready to snap to ranting about hating it, you make me want to scream.

Y’all don’t know how many people are lucky that I write up responses in word so I can get it out of my system and then just DELETE the whole fucking thing. Rage fic is that same fucking set up, but instead of being a relatively quick post (where I can block the poster here on tumblr), it’s a fanfic that people are going to continue to click into over and over and over again for fun only to get body slammed. There’s no way to warn people on AO3 if something is a rage fic beyond not leaving a kudos and dropping a comment. I don’t know a lot of people who read comments first so it doesn’t always work. 

If you post rage fics, grow up. Stop that shit. Fuck you. Instead, try not purposefully interacting with fandom that makes you so mad that you think doing this is an appropriate reaction. Block tags, block users, regulate comments, go whole fucking hog. You should be able to enjoy fandom too! But if you can’t do that without tearing down other people in fandom then you make me want to beat you over the head until you self-isolate to play by yourself in a different sandbox. Seriously. Fuck you if you do this.

Troll Fics

Did you think I came on strong for rage fics? This is worse. 

If you do this? Fuck you. You get NOTHING but my pure rage and if I find this shit I will report you however I can and then shout from the rooftops about it. And I’m sure if you do write troll fics because you enjoy being purposefully offensive and triggering then you’re probably delighted that my reaction to just thinking about this is wishing I had the power to fuck up your life. 

Like, the ONLY thing I can say for rage fic is that at least typically the person writing it actually enjoys some aspect of the fandom or fandom in general. 

Troll fics are just meant to be offensive on purpose and if you write and post that you’re a bad person. No exceptions. You can make different choices and work to become a better person or a good person, but right now, right this second as you do it? You’re a bad person. You should probably figure out why you get so much joy out of posting things with the sole purpose of hurting/triggering/being cruel to others. And you might need help to do that. I legit think you should reach out to people with different opinions from your own to try and break out of it. Get a therapist. Do fucking something worthwhile, because posting troll fics is not worth anyone’s while. Fuck you. Rape as a Backstory

I hope I don’t have to fucking explain why this makes me want to literally explode. I’m purposefully not writing that as R*pe so that people with rape tagged don’t see this.

If you think that rape is the only way to push your story forward or is a great way to give a character “free and easy trauma”, literally stop. Just. Fucking. Stop. There are other ways. Really look at your work, really think about /why/ it’s so important to you that the character /has/ to be raped. Most of the time the real answer is you don’t have a reason you just chose it because you either don’t care, think it’s not a big deal, or never considered other possibilities. There are stories where rape does need to be included, stories that address the topic kindly and/or tag appropriately for it. I’ve read some of these that were really amazing, both short (<1k) and long (>100k) because the author actually took a hot second to address the topic in an intelligent way. Whether that was to dive into how it’s harmful, address their own trauma, or (honestly) even for the smut porn of it but with all the proper tags on it. If you have it to be purely enjoyed by yourself and/or others with dubcon or noncon kinks, cool, good for you, TAG IT APPROPRIATELY. Fucking bless writers who still use “Dead Dove/Do Not Eat” tags y’all are doing great work. But the vast majority using this trope? 

They aren’t that, they aren’t anything like that at all, they aren’t always tagged correctly or at all and that’s by design, it’s often for shock value or a quick ‘well that’s why they’re anti-social’, it’s sometimes used as an excuse for one character to swear off sex until the “right person” comes along to “cure them”, and they shouldn’t have ever been posted.

Redemption Equals Sex/Sexual Karma

I know this is spring boarding a bit, but please stop writing these two tropes. 

I’m exhausted  y’all. And not just because I’m asexual. This trope is disgusting and usually comes with heaps of sexism, racism, and homophobia. If you want to write smut please just write the fucking smut. I’m literally posting smut fic and am planning to work on another one tonight! JUST WRITE SMUT WITHOUT MAKING IT DISGUSTINGLY ANTI-MINORITY GROUPS AND PLAYING INTO HARMFUL STEREOTYPES.  If bad guys become good(ish) guys because a woman saw past their barriers, took care of them, are a surrogate mother, and then had wild and kinky sex with them then it’s a bad fic. Likewise, if a character is punished for having sex, or is sexually assaulted to show that they’re now bad then it’s a bad fic.

If a character’s suffering is rewarded with sex to “cure” them and “make them better” then it’s a bad fic.

There are so many ways that this shit becomes a seriously harmful fic.

Please. Please, stop doing this. I am on my knees. Stop!

I am sick of ‘Draco’s in Leather Pants’ (can’t fucking believe I’m whipping that term out again holy shit what year is it) getting redeemed because they slept with someone and now found a reason to care. Sex leading someone on the path towards redemption is so EXTREMELY rarely handled in a way that’s well done. Just. Don’t. Be an unapologetic villain lover, slap them in an AU where they aren’t a pure villain, but don’t do this. Like I wrote above, I’m also just sick of (usually, but not always) dudes who put rape in to punish (usually, but not always) female characters or to punish weak/pushover characters (usually, but not always males). And equally tired of traumatized characters “casting off their shackles” to enjoy wild and kinky sex because someone with a magic dick/strap/fingers/tongue “showed them it’s okay” and “made it all better”.

Just, don’t. Be a fucking decent human being and don’t.

Character/Reader Fics

I...I really just don’t get this? It’s very uncomfortable to me and I’m assuming that’s due to me being aroace, I can’t read them and if I try to I either become so uncomfortable I stop or so rage filled I stop. 

I don’t mind 2nd person stories, but most of the ones I see are character/reader fics and it’s...like, it’s just bad. Not “cringe” just enjoyable for me. I can’t explain why I hate this so much considering I do enjoy some 2nd person fics. Idk, I really don’t have the words to explain why these bother me so much. :\

Sorry guys, I just hate it. I can’t really read a fic and listen to music at the same time, it becomes background noise 100% and detracts from both for audio cue fics.

Fuck, just realized I don’t know if people know what those are. Audio/Sound cue fics are fics where you’re reading along and all the sudden there’s a link or URL that you’re supposed to follow to help set up the next scene/enhance it. Hate it. Hate, hate, hate. It detracts from your story and makes it weaker while being annoying and breaking me the reader out of my enjoyment of your story. Hate! Telling me in the A/N that this (or these) are the song(s) you listened to while writing, song(s) you based the story on, or even that you think they’re good songs to get you in the mood for the story is totally okay! I’ll probably ignore it unless I went head over heels for it, in which case I WILL go back and listen to all of them. (Why hello Rhythm and Blues, you punched me in the face and I now listen to every song even vaguely mentioned in the story or A/N, you’re that good, it’s so fucking good guys, I can’t stop talking about this fucking series it’s just so good?????????) Song fics are also typically in this boat for me. And I want to be really clear, not fics where a character is singing in the fic with lyrics written out. That doesn’t bother me, that song is now effectively part of the story and draws me in. But if it’s paragraphs of description before suddenly cutting it’s annoying. So yeah I’m making an example to complain about the example. 

But question. 

Was that needed? 

All I did was make overly explicit my feelings in this text that was already there in what I’d written. Song fics feel to me like writers who aren’t confident that their writing is good/understandable/relatable and so they are desperately throwing someone else’s creation into their own in the hopes the reader will get it. Friend, I promise you, we’ll get it without the song! The song lyrics detract when they’re just floating out there, and have taken goods fics and made them frustrating. Either that or you think you’re so amazing that your shit don’t stink and the rest of us idiots can choke because of your brilliance. I’ve found several song fics that if I copy and paste them into a word document and delete the song out, I really enjoyed the fic itself on it’s own merits in a way I literally couldn’t with the lyrics in there. Again, if you are weaving music into your fic, weave it in. Have characters sing, write the lyrics out as a character is listening to the music, quote the song in your fic (preferably without it being super obvious. I’m not saying my take on that was the best, but I did write a Catradora fic on giftly request based on a song and I 100% used lyrics from it in my prose and built my whole plot around it without breaking out to quote the song explicitly), just do something that’s not, like, punching me in the face because “clearly I couldn’t get it” or from a fear that “they won’t understand”. At best you seem insecure and unsure about your story, which is fantastic without the song. At worst it seems like you’re saying your fic is so beyond the average reader that we would never understand your vision without someone else’s original content in it.

When I was 14 a friend got me into Hetalia, and being that Hetalia is a bit of a hot topic right now I wanted to talk a bit about my experiences within that fandom and how I saw it cause harm. This was my first real fandom experience, so part of what I experienced will have been somewhat common in any fandom around 2011 and possibly even today, but this is the lens through which I can attest.

I would also like to note that I am not proud of my engagement with Hetalia. When I came to be 15 I grew out of believing offensive humor was harmless and edgy, and I realized that Hetalia’s very source material was unapologetically racist, antisemetic, and pro-imperialist, so I cast off any association with the fandom and original media.

Under the cut my experiences will be divided between the topics of racism / antisemetism, homophobia / transphobia, and pedophilia, so please read at your own discretion.

Racism / Antisemetism

- It goes without saying that the premise of Hetalia is problematic. The series, initially at least, focuses on humanized versions of the countries within the Axis Powers during the reign of Nazi Germany. These nations are not only treated sympathetically, but are the main protagonists.

- It was not uncommon for fascist and imperialist iconography to be found prominently displayed in both fanart and cosplays. It was a bit of a joke between certain cosplayers to say “I am not a nazi, just a weeaboo!”

- Cosplayers would sometimes take photoshoots in which they would do the “Heil Hitler” salute, and also point (fake) weapons at the Star of David.

- All this being said, among the “ironic” Nazis there were some legit out-and-proud Nazis. I wouldn’t say that these Nazi’s had a significant voice in the fandom, but the fans didn’t really have an issue with them existing in the same space.

- It was not uncommon to see fanart and fanfiction of ships between a country which had colonized / occupied / invaded another and the country that was colonized / occupied / invaded. Some more obvious examples of this would be England x India or France x Seychelles.

- Within the show and most offical art, characters that were obviously supposed to be understood as people of color were usually drawn very pale. Sometimes fanartists would draw these characters darker and would recieve a lot of harassment in the comments and inbox. The fans that would draw characters darker were almost always people of color themselves.

- It was really common to try and represent Japanese accents in fanfiction by writing dialogue like “Herro” instead of “Hello”. Most people did not see the issue with this and would go on and on about how cute they thought Japanese accents were.

- I remember a young girl from Bangladesh speaking up about how she was uncomfortable with how the creator of Hetalia treated brown characters, especially India, and she recieved a lot of anonymous messages that threatened sexual violence in response to this.

- It goes without saying that criticism was not well recieved or encouraged in the Hetalia fandom. You’d be much more likely to see the word “squick” than “problematic”.

Homophobia / Transphobia

- There are a few canon LGBT characters in Hetalia, all of which are cis men. I would argue that every single portrayal of same gender attraction in Hetalia is shown to be predatory.

- There was a wide range of attitudes towards shipping in the Hetalia fandom. Some people saw m/m shipping as activism. Some people were blatantly homophobic and saw m/m ships as a guilty pleasure. Some people would exclusively ship m/f ships and pretend they were oppressed for it.

- There were a couple of gender-nonconforming characters and it was really common to hear them referred to as “traps” and be portrayed in fanart in various stages of undress. It’s worth noting one was a child.

- There was a big split in the fandom based on whether or not you believed trans people were their gender. Those who were “pro-trans” or whatever were often referred to as the “SJWs” of the fandom, and when people posted trans headcanons there would usually be lots of bigotry in the notes.

Pedophilia

- It is worth noting that there are some pedophilia jokes in Hetalia’s source material.

- It was a huge joke that the character France was a rapist. There were multiple stories going around of adult France cosplayers jokingly threatening to rape children at cons.

- Adults at cons were also known to attempt and solicit sex from minors in order to “make their ship come true”.

- Characters that were children were frequently sexualized.

- Not only did pedophilia fics and art exist, adults I would have considered friends at the time would message them to me as a “favor” if they contained my favorite characters.

- When I would post closet cosplays adults would attempt to solicit inappropriate pictures of me in cosplay.

- Adults approached me on multiple occasions in order to roleplay sex and romance between Hetalia characters. They would take time inbetween the roleplay to ask me intimate questions about my own sexuality and sexual desire.

- When I expressed discomfort with a very popular ongoing fic, “Giving In”, after one of the protagonists admitted to having raped children multiple times, I was encouraged by an adult to stick with the fic anyways because it’s message of forgiveness was apparently really important.

- Looking back I was being groomed in some pretty public spaces and no one at any point stepped in and tried to help.

- There were no healthy boundaries between minors and adults in that fandom. Questioning adults, especially popular creators, often came with consequences because they were apparently the backbone of the fandom.

- I would gamble to say that many of the predatory adults I interacted with when I was 14 may still be in the fandom, as well as their previous victims who have normalized what happened to them.

This is not a spoiler-free blog, obviously. There will be spoilers of the most recent seasons of most shows, with the exceptions of Fairy Tail and Sword Art Online, which I am still trying to catch up on. There will also be spoilers for plots of the Mystic Messenger routes. You have been warned!

RULES FOR REQUESTING

Please, for the love of god, be polite when you request. We're all human here (at least, I think so...) Let's act like it!

When requesting, please include the fandom and character(s) in your ask. I write for a lot of fandoms, so this will make it easier for everyone!

Please limit your request to one character at a time for all request types, with the exception of headcanons. For those, I will accept up to two characters. Any request that exceeds these numbers will be denied.

Also include the type of request you're asking for, basically any of the choices listed above.

Read the "Things I Will Not Write" section found underneath this paragraph. Do NOT request anything with those characteristics.

My writing defaults to the female gender, but I can write for anyone! If you prefer another gender, please include that as well in your request! Otherwise, my default will be she/her.

Anon asks are totally okay! (Anon hate is not, but I think we all know that by now.) If you submit an ask while logged in and don't want your username shared, please let me know ahead of time. Otherwise, I'll just assume it's okay to share it!

I also only do requests for the characters we've met in the anime. I'd love to spend my days scarfing down as much manga as I possibly can, but alas my day-job requires me to pretty much non-stop reading. Which means when the weekends roll around, the last thing I want to do is more reading. (Somehow my mind categorizes writing as something entirely different. Weird...lol)

THINGS I WILL NOT WRITE

Triggering requests, such as self harm, suicide, rape, etc. If you're not sure if your request applies to the guidelines, don't hesitate to ask! I promise the worst that will happen is I might possibly politely decline :)

NSFW, non-consensual, dub-con, yandere, or anything of that nature. I will do mild suggestive content or heated physical content, but no shmexy shtuff. Again, if you're not sure, just ask!

Pedophilia, incest, or abuse. If you request anything of this nature, you will be blocked immediately.

Character bashing, no matter the character.

Cross-overs, character ships, or match-ups. I only write character x reader, so please don’t request character x character.

Anything with specific MCs from Mystic Messenger. I will not write for them specifically because they are supposed to represent us and writing for MC3 (the redheaded MC, for example) might prevent everyone else who is not a redhead from enjoying that piece.

I also reserve the right to turn down a request based on my lack of knowledge of the character. Characters like Rika/Vanderwood from Mystic Messenger or minor, one-episode characters from other fandoms are good examples. I'll definitely try to fulfill any request I get, but some characters I'm just not familiar with. I won't insult your love for that character by bullshitting my way through a request.

REQUEST RATES

I generally post a couple times a week, but that can change because I'm still trying to figure out my posting schedule. Keep in mind that I have a full-time job that's only getting busier. I do requests in order of having received them. This can mean you might have to wait a little while for your ask to get answered, but I promise I will get to it! I'll never leave an ask unanswered, not intentionally at least.

However, a disclaimer: By day, I am a legal assistant at a fairly large firm and am currently involved in preparation for a very large trial. My days are getting longer and more tiring, and both my time and energy are being consumed by the law firm. I love it and wouldn't trade it for any other job...but sometimes that means I won't have as much time to write.

Ergo, until the end of the year, there might be weeks when you see nothing from me. That means I'm either tied up at work or, honestly, just too exhausted to put out anything of quality. But never fear! I will be back and will never just ignore an ask. I'll try to post an update when I know ahead of time, but most of this stuff happens last minute. I reserve the right to close requests at any time and will halt posting due to scheduling issues. I hope you can understand!

(Diff anon) Why do people think they can hide behind their age to avoid criticism? (Whether it's Sou/th Park or P/okemon, there will always be NSFW of some kind by fans. Unless you're on a 18+ site; where stuff is generally unfiltered, most people usually put a blockade or warning so minors can't access easily. Heck, the tagging is even for adults who don't like certain NSFW stuff, like extreme violence or gore.) Plus, the SP fandom isn't limited to Tumblr, it just currently houses the most art.

I don't know when I got this lol. And I honestly have no fucking clue. It's like they think just because they are a minor there is no repercussion for what they do.

It's like I lived though fanfiction.net. It was horrible! I am so glad that tagging exists so I can be like "Angst? Not today Satan! Underage? No thanks. ABO? Mmmm new tab for you! Pure fluff? Yeah baby!" I don't like some things, and I can see if it's something I'm into. There are fics out there that people will swear up and down are the greatest fics in the fandom, but I know weather or not it's for my before I even open it. I use to get chapters into something before I realized this wasn't what was advertised and would leave. It's a huge reason I dropped out of fandom for a few years. There are guides out there showing you how to exclude tags when searching on AO3! It's wonderful! These people just don't know how good they got it.

And this isn't even like an "All minors" sort of thing. It's legit a "these five assholes are ruining the party for everyone." I don't condone any minor who watches South Park or participates in fandom. Hell, I was 15 when I was introduced to Fanfiction.net. That was the website for fanfiction at the time. You gambled on what stories you were going to get and what the content was going to be like. It was legit like walking into a book store except at least book stores have better summaries. I seriously have nothing wrong with minors that want to gush about the fluff fics they find or the cute art. I have nothing against minors that don't want to see anything pornographic. I don't have anything against minors who do want to explore sex and sexuality through the written word.

I have a problem with these little shits who think they are the authority of all things and feel the need to police people over the dumbest shit then make up shit that sounds logical and factual but is actually lies that do nothing but hurt real victims by reducing the meaning of a word. Then when others won't bend to their will, turn into hateful fucking cunts and go on the attack.

You know for a group of people who are supposed to be like "Don't bully. Sex positivity. You don't have to know who you are right out the gates." Sure do spend a lot of time and effort going against everything they stand for. Like why? Why are you going to tell a 16 year old you were glad they were raped and you hope they kill themselves over a fucking cartoon you watch? Why would you spend the time and effort trying to doxx someone because they write about fictional characters who are aged up into adult hood and then thrown into adult situations? If you don't like what's out there, make your own or fuck off.

Just because you're young, doesn't mean you have the right to be an absolute fucking cunt to people. You should be ashamed of the type of person you are. You are literally no better than Trump. You're equally as bad as any Nazi or white supremacists. Also what the fuck is going on in the Pokemon fandom? I'm not huge on Pokemon (Magikarp best Pokemon) so I never know but are they really throwing a fit about fake humanoid animals being drawn for furry porn? Like is this an argument they are chosing to have in the year 2019? Is this an actual fucking thing? Like do they not know porn artists do a better job of hiding their work from minors than actual cartoon porn sites?

If your problem is really that minors might be able to find their work, then you're attacking the wrong people. Try the porn sites that dump thousands of dollars into ads that have a chance to run on gaming websites. Go after Google to better regulate their adds on sites. Go after parents that don't have up ad blocks and parental controls on young kids. And then fucking trust teens to know how to navigate shit. If you're a teen and you can't seem to avoid content that makes you uncomfortable, please seek your legal guardian for help. Because your bitching about how it's "the adults responsibility" is how you end up with shit like GRSM content being demonized on YouTube, thus helping to bury the content from the public. It's how you end up with Tumblr "accidentally" flagging the same content as NSFW and hiding it from searches.

Seriously. Pull your head outcha asses and see the bigger picture. Be glad you live in a place where you can chose not to see shit rather than be forced to use government regulated everything. Wanna tell the president he's the embodiment of a traffic cone that's been run over by a semi? Then maybe stop calling for censorship under the false disguise of "for the children."
