Fun Fact
BuzzFeed published a report claiming that Tumblr was utilized as a distribution channel for Russian agents to influence American voting habits during the 2016 presidential election in Feb 2018.
Hello, I just want to say that I’ve been loving all the comics you’ve made and how much character is in them! I also want to mention that I feel you’re the latest torchbearer in wholesome feedism art and comics department, as the two main artists I followed have moved on to other things (one of them even disabled their DeviantArt account btw, but most of their art was archived by someone else). Again, I really do love these characters you’ve made and how wholesome their interactions are with each other. Also, how did each of your OCs meet? I’m legitimately curious about that.
Sincerely,
Anon
oh wow thanks you for this, but it's a lot to carry lol
i can't be the only one out there doing feedism fluff!
If anyone has any recommendations (new or not, it could be a 2010 fanfic or a 2015 comic) on wholesome feedism art let me know in the comments below (or send them anonymously and i'll write them below) - or maybe link to someone's master list on the subject :3
(and anon if you can give me the names of the two people u where talking about i'd love to know)
i'm also very interested as to why they stopped? they said everything they had to and left? lack of care from the community? started doing too many commissions and burned out? - I listen religiously to burnout cautionary tales - i'm a "throw-myself-into-a-new-project-and-forgets-to-eat" type of person so i've learned to pace myself and stop from overworking
heavyheavycream is still new and shiny for my brain, and the response from y'all has been amazing and uplifting - but i know my brain all too well, and it's a miracle if it holds on to anything past 6 months - this could be different cos this project is deeply linked to my sexuality sooooo... i dunno we'll see :3
Edit since a lot of people seem confused - your "real" name is the name that you want to be referred to in real life. It doesn't have to be your legal name. So if you're trans and you have a different name to whats on your birth certificate, even if not many people call you by the name, it still counts as your real name.
Edit 2 : Holy shit guys please stop reblogging this post my poor inbox im getting like 20 notifs an hour asjfhkajshdkh /lh /srs
Recently I found a list I made several months ago of Big Mama words that she uses in canon, so I thought I'd share it. (Note: this is not complete and the notes on meaning/use are limited by what I guessed from context.)
Biddily-boo: auction, bidding
Bimbally bugs: no particularly new meaning, her way of saying bugs
Contrapulation: complex object, contraption
Crackadoo: mess, disturbance
Dimbally door: no particularly new meaning, her way of saying door
Fantumptuous: very good, fabulous, amazing
Fizzy-winkle: mess, chaos
Fuggy-doodles: thieves
Hollydoo: apparently a sort of limb
Malutacious monsters: positive apparently
Meddle-doos: meddlers, irritants
Oh, giggily-pin: exclamation
Scramulent: good, pleasing (occasionally used sarcastically)
Scrumbulent: good, pleasing
Silly-billy: silly
Skanktonious: stinky, repulsive
Tissle-tassle: problem, possibly a little issue that gets bigger
Thrashy-diddle: fight
And I organized them alphabetically because it was fun. If anyone has more, feel free to add!
always happy about the fact that in 2012, mikey often asked donnie questions if he didn't understand something and donnie always answered no matter what
this can be seen in a bunch of episodes but my favorite example of it it's the one in half shell heroes where mikey is extremely excited to be in the museums and is the one actively asking donnie questions about the exhibits they saw and also actively listening to donnie's explanation (before raph got silly lmao). he was very excited to learn!!!
And while it's true that mikey would lose interest quite fast if the explanation got too lengthy with too many technical terms, it doesn't change the fact that he does retain the info donnie is always rambling on about different things!!! (even if mikey himself doesn't notice he's doing it lol) and also i find it very sweet that no matter if donnie himself got annoyed, donnie would always answer the questions. no matter what. he would always try to explain if he didn't understand something
This is prob because mikey is the one brother who is often seeking out donnie to pass time around him Meaning that donnie might have used mikey as his rubber ducky whenever mikey hangs out with him while he's working (explained him a lot of his experiments and theories while trying to solve them himself and in this way mikey also learnt in the process WHILE spending time with his brother! win win!)
it also helps donnie because accompanies him while not letting him get lonely in his lab 24/7, sometimes explaining things to someone makes it better to understand it yourself AND it's shown in the comics that donnie is quite used to his brothers just Living as background noise and literally cannot function without it lmao
They are literally the two smart kids in the family even if none of them notice it and it's all because mikey looks up to his brother and is like an sponge with donnie around. donnie is actively teaching mikey and mikey is learning! even if they have no idea they are doing it
REQUIRED READING for any noisecouple enjoyers: @manicplank 's "the colour pink" fic ITS SOOOO GOOD and i just had to do a little animation of their date.... so so so so cute i love them forever
gif version under the cut:
idk why it loses so much quality . kind of annoying but oh well
the fact that ml has a built in mechanism for adrien to talk to the IDEA of emilie à la the steven universe episode “storm in the room” HAUNTS me. like if he got ahold of félix’s kwagatama he could have a full conversation with the version of his mom who renounced her miraculous (and who KNOWS when that was?? as early as when she got pregnant and then handed it off to the fathoms? she wouldn’t really have had a reason to use it again after that.) oh i can’t decide if he would find this cathartic or devastating or both. your mom is dead but she’s here and she can’t answer for any of her crimes because she’s hardly even committed them yet. the crime was you. she won’t believe you were a crime. your mom is dead but she’s here and she’s so young, she’s the age she was when she conceived you, when nothing bad has happened yet and she can’t stop marveling at your face and how it is so like hers. your mom is dead and she won’t believe you now when you tell her it was your fault. your mom is dead but she’s here and she loves you and you can’t touch her, she’s real and not real at the same time, just like she was when she was alive.
this is more or less just a late night personal anecdote (so please forgive my rambling), but hbomb's plagiarism video got me thinking the differences between journalism and marketing
during my undergrad in journalism, I was required to take an ethics course. we learned how to write our own code of ethics, as well as the core tenants in the SPJ Code of Ethics.
it was honestly one of the most invaluable courses I've ever taken in my life, and not only did I learn a lot about journalism through it, but I learned a lot about myself and what kind of person I wanted to be
then, when I studied marketing in grad school, I remember asking one of my marketing professors about ethics in marketing, and I remember him saying:
"ethical marketers starve."
I still think about that to this day. It's one of the main reasons why (despite having a master's in marketing) I did not pursue that field out of grad school
not to say that all marketers are unethical, I'm sure there are ethical ones that exist. but the fields of journalism and marketing are so diametrically opposed to each other, and the reason is because of ethics. one field is (or should be) in the pursuit of truth. The other is in the pursuit of profit.
the James Somertons (self-proclaimed marketers) of the world likely never consider the ethics of their work, but instead behave like marketers: try to appeal to the masses and sell themselves, try to get as many subscribers as possible, have fancy sets and lighting and props in his videos, churn out as many videos as possible to stay relevant in the YouTube algorithm at all costs, be "controversial" (even though most of his words were stolen or misogynistic or straight up lies).
our world is so centered on the idea of profit and self-attainment that we forget to ask ourselves if we're being decent human beings. I wholeheartedly believe that it's possible to be ethical AND successful, all while lifting up our fellow creators and writers without stealing from them. no one has to starve.
Thinking celebrity crushes was just an exaggerated way to say X is aesthetically pleasing and that people weren't actually serious. Making up celebrity crushes just to fit in.
Being able to acknowledge that someone is conventionally attractive by beauty standards but not feeling attracted towards them. Friend: "Aren't they hot?? I'm dying over those abs!!!". Me: "I mean sure, they look fit and healthy. shrug".
Making grossed out faces when asked who I would frick during the 'fuck, marry, kill' games. "Look here, the guys in our group are cool and all but even if the opportunity to be intimate with them came, I still wouldn't do it."
Thinking demisexuality was how attraction worked for the vast majority.
Being VERY confused on why the girls in my high school year thirsted over the young male student teacher.
Being genuinely surprised when peers in my high school year got into sexual relationships ("Huh?? Aren't we too young for this?")
Not understanding what people mean by "the butterflies". Never experienced the physical symptoms commonly associated with a crush.
Not understanding why thirst traps are used and thinking 'sex sells' is an obvious lie.
Not understanding the appeal behind hookup culture.
Reading smut fics and thinking the hyperfixations on a character's physical appearance was so "grown up".
Not understanding why abstinence is difficult. ("What do you mean you couldn't resist... just don't do it???")
Not understanding why couples broke up over sex. Not understanding why lack of sex is a deal breaker in relationships. Thinking that I would be perfectly fine if my partner didn't want to be intimate.
Happy ace week everyone. 💜🤍🖤
EDIT: To anyone that's questioning: if you do relate to some of these, there is a possibility you could be on ace spectrum. However, don't take this as THE guide, this is just a recount of my own personal experiences. Instead, I highly encourage you to read up more on asexuality and other ace people's experiences - asexuality is a wide spectrum, and I just happen to fall in the "no attraction whatsoever" side. I'm also happy to answer any questions, feel free to hit me up.
