next chapter does feature Quinlan Vos, a kit fic favorite, so i do like to imagine that in the time between anakin leaving to get Dex’s and coming back to find the door code changed, obi-wan calls up Quinlan for emotional intervention because Quinlan knows way too much about obi-wan’s unhealthy relationship with his padawan and is the only person in the temple who doesnt think anakin and obi-wan are married

and Quin’s the good friend who takes charge of the situation and tells him to change the locks and really actually start moving on from Skywalker and getting distance because this is just making obi-wan sad and it’s clear anakin is never going to leave his wife so obi-wan needs to temper his feelings and move. on.

so i downloaded twine because i thought they, making an interactive novel would be fun. still thinking about making that but in the meanwhile to play around with learning twine i decided to make a jedi lineage... with currently 42 characters. it all started with beader, the bunny rabbit jedi

ill probably incorporate some of them in a heavy burden to carry, a prequel sw fic im working on

anyways my current favorites are caskyl sopake, a togruta padawan who isnt accepted by most togruta because of his name which means that hes an exiled one. is really good at tracking, training to be a jedi shadow. he and his master, vonde rent, usually use bountyhunters as their cover. instead of a headdress, he wraps ribbons around his montrals and also someof the ribbons flutter on the side of his face as kind of a nod to his padawan braid. whenever he returns to the temple, he puts a chain of bells and beads in his ribbon-strands which jingles when he walks. arya rahl is an angsty little sephi padawan whos struggling after getting caught up humanitarian conflict. for two months she was part of the group of refugees fleeing from rising waters on a world with massive climate change. it was partially orchestrated by some darksider that she got into a fight with where she lost her left eye. she's like the cutest little gorl but she's so angry all the time. loves pink, has a pink lightsaber, will cuss you out. she's not full sephi so her white hair has a slight iridescence to it and when sunburnt, she gets pink "freckles". currently she wears her hair in short haircut with bangs covering her left eye. has a little butterfly skirt galleb mard is a beskalisk jedi padawan who loves blasters and weaponry so much. they feel like their faking it being a jedi because of the fact no other jedi they know likes blasters and uses them as weapons. will deny that they like blasters to everyone but refuses to have anyone ever enter their rooms ever. best friend with the engineers and quartermasters. will do their absolute best to pick up at least one new blaster per mission

navra prikin, a fairly old iridonian zabrak padawan who is just at this point refusing to become a knight because her master has jedi dementia. master saum is at this point constantly forgetful and navra is often taking care of writing mission reports, making sure they eats and everything. she knows she should let the healers know of their condition but she doesnt want to take away saum's ability to travel the galaxy, which they love doing. she is a shien user, with a blue blade. she loves plants and often takes detailed notes on ecology and botany for the agricorps while on missions. her most hated mission was when she had to serve as the protector for some newlywed royals but essentially she was playing therapist between them.

in an effort to stop hoarding all of my notes on rawl/the 77th like a dragon - im going to start periodically posting them here! (as long as it doesnt directly spoil or reveal anything about the fic im planning). starting with answering some of these questions for calla and cyrus!!!

(btw calla is my jedi oc and cyrus is her master. linked some art ive done in the past of them <3)

How did they meet?

Cyrus is meditating one day in a garden in the Grand Temple. Calla is a Jedi Initiate at the time, age 7, and has snuck away to the garden during lunch hour because she loves plants and being in the garden. (She will often come back at the end of lunch hour with dirt-smudged cheeks, dirt under her fingernails, and a big smile on her face.) When she walks into the garden on this day, Cyrus is meditating in a corner right next to her favorite sapling. He is sitting, but he is taller than the little sapling that she has started to think of as a friend. (She’s a little bit shorter than the sapling.) The first thought that strikes her is that he’s taller sitting down than her friend, which makes her giggle. Cyrus doesn’t react to her giggle and continues meditating. Calla is fascinated by his montrals and lekku. She has a friend, Kili, who is a togruta, but Kili is still a youngling like her, and she has only seen glimpses of Master Shaak Ti in the halls. She walks up to him and plops down in the grass in front of him. He continues meditating, and she waits patiently for him, doing her best to mimic how he has positioned himself. As soon as she settles into position, he opens his eyes to look at her. “Hello, youngling.” She asks if he likes her friend as well, pointing to the sapling next to him. “Yes, it is good company for meditation.” From that day on, Calla finds Cyrus in the garden very frequently during her lunch hour. She often talks his ear off about the plants and which ones she loves and how she takes care of them. He often meditates while she gardens and spends her lunch hour there. She starts mimicking him as well and asking him questions as soon as he opens his eyes to look at her crisscrossed on the ground in front of him. She can be impatient, waiting for him to open his eyes, but she tries her best because she finds him so fascinating. He begins providing her with instruction, for meditation in particular, but he answers all of her questions. He helps her with tasks in the garden when she asks. She completes the Initiate Trials four months after meeting him in the garden, and he selects her as his Padawan.

2. How long have these two characters known each other?

Calla is 24 at the start of the Clone Wars, so they have known each other for 17 years at the beginning of the war.

4. How would they describe each other if asked? Physically? In personality?

Cyrus would describe Calla as headstrong, stubborn and at times prone to impatience, but he would also describe her as an incredibly dedicated Jedi, one with an inquisitive mind, a drive to improve herself, and a boundless capacity to care for other living things. Calla is the first Padawan that Cyrus has taken, and he has a lot of respect and love for her. Calla would describe Cyrus as reserved and, at times, difficult to read. His silences hold as much weight with her as his words. (Not in a silent treatment way – he is just very careful with his words, especially once he becomes her Master.) She thinks he is wise, endlessly patient, and one of the most intelligent people that she has ever encountered. Beyond that, she knows that he is cunning – it is a trait that she associates most with him. And as with Cyrus, Calla has a lot of respect and love for her Master.

6. Do they have any shared interests/hobbies? Do they ever do these hobbies together?

They garden together, of course. It is something they associate so strongly with one another by the time Calla has become a Knight. It is one of Calla’s favorite things, to be around plants, and Cyrus initially uses it as a tool for his teachings. It eventually morphs into something they just do together, rather than Cyrus only using it as a teaching tool. They also play Go together. Cyrus loves Go and begins teaching Calla when she is young. Calla plays with him because she loves learning from him and asking questions, even though she isn’t very good at Go.

8. How do they communicate with each other? Are there any recurring phrases or gestures unique to their relationship?

Cyrus communicates more with actions than words. When he becomes Calla’s Master, verbal communication outside of what is considered “lecturing” is not something that comes naturally to him, but he works on it to be a better Master to her. Since Calla is young when they meet and eventually becomes his pupil, the way Cyrus communicates shapes her own communication as well. She often shows how she feels through action rather than saying it aloud. They are very different people, and are bound to disagree at times, though they have so much respect for one another it is not often a serious disagreement. When they do have a serious disagreement, apologies are shown rather than said. Calla will go get Cyrus’ Go board and set it up for them to play, or Cyrus will join her in the garden. As far as recurring phrases, Cyrus will often tell Calla, “Be calm. Look inward.”, at times when she is struggling or stressed. It is a phrase she begins saying to herself as she gets older – a comforting reminder of his teachings. As far as recurring gestures are concerned, Cyrus is not someone who displays physical acts of affection. He is very reserved, and though he isn’t truly isolated from the other Jedi in the Order, he does tend towards solitude. However, when Calla becomes his Padawan, he realizes that he can’t impair her development with his tendencies towards solitude. He encourages her to form friendships and doesn't discourage any physical gestures of affection she may show towards him, even if he does not initiate them himself. The gesture he uses most often to show affection/support/pride is resting his hand on her head. (He is 7.5’ tall, and I feel this is important to point out here lol.) He stops doing this as she gets older, but during some really trying moments during the Clone Wars, he tries to offer her comfort with this gesture. When Calla is younger, Cyrus is obviously so much taller than her. (He is like a giant to her, almost mythical in his size – this plays into some of her reverence for him as her master. He seems almost “larger than life”.) She gets his attention by tugging on his robes or fingers if she can reach them. She continues this into being a teenager – it is a gesture for attention but also one of affection. I would say that an act of unspoken communication or companionship between them is joining the other in meditation. Even once Calla is a Knight and no longer training directly on Cyrus, they meditate with one another often, and they always sit directly in front of one another – just like Calla did when she was a child.

15. Do they trust each other? Why or why not?

Absolutely. Calla would probably say that they have “unshakable trust” in one another. However, this trust is tested during the Clone Wars. Cyrus’ position as General of a battalion of spies, a battalion that typically deals with the darker sides of a war – like subterfuge, strategy and eventually assassinations, forces him to make decisions that a Jedi Master would not have had to typically make prior to the Clone Wars. These decisions shake Calla, and she begins to question many things, including Cyrus’ decisions. Cyrus trusts Calla as well. During the war, he trusts her with many thoughts and emotions that he does not trust with anyone else. He sees her resolve in him waver, but he always puts his trust in her. In a way, he puts too much trust and perhaps too much expectation on her and asks much of her during the war.

22. When were they the most vulnerable with each other?

There is A Scene during the war that I have jotted some thoughts down about, and it is where they are most vulnerable and at their most volatile with each other. :)

i have!!! honestly i'm obsessed with all of her star wars works. quite a few of them are on her tumblr but not ao3 and usually i do not read fic on tumblr cause i use app and it just doesnt work well for very long posts for me but oh my god. they are so good ive read them all and reguarly go back to reread. her roleswap au where obi wan is the padawan and Cody has this weird parental relationship with him changed how i view bad dads in ficition forever. their messed up relationship is my lifeblood. (there is this one moment where Cody relates it back to his own relationship with jango and OH MY GOD.) its just the most deliciously messed up thing ever. that Cody 100% fueled my current views when it comes to jango and being a dad and not being a dad.

yes thats it completely! Cody didnt ask for it it was forced on him. and why was it forced on him? what gave jango this weird obsession? what is he running from thats fueling this bizzare behaviour. so fun to think about! so fun.

yeah its just cycles of abuse. i like exploring it. but also. theres the potential of 'this stops with me' which can also be fun to explore. could cody overcome his weird relationship with jango and be a better parent, should he find himself in that situation?

Pairing: Echo x Jedi!gn!reader

Summary: Order 66 left the Jedi's all over the galaxy into shambles. You happened to stumble upon the best of the best clones but one of them really stood out to you.

Warnings/Tags: mentions of order 66, very minor violence, kissing (one of the kisses gets a teeny bit spicy), no use of y/n — tell me if I've missed anything!

The Clone Wars.

The name that could either bring fear to someone or pure hatred.

For some, it could be both or the polar opposites.

Noble Jedi Masters, Knights, and Padawans lead thousands, maybe even a million clone army's into a galaxy-wide battle against the Separatists. As it's heartbreaking to realise, it was all orchestrated by Emperor Palpatine himself. As the wars drew to a fiery close, his endgame was soon to be the downfall of the Jedi and their precious Republic.

"Execute Order 66."

The Emperors gravelly voice rang through transmission disks and the heads of the clone army's. Some of them would've thought they went insane until they weren't able to resist the order.

Blasters shot erupted throughout the inner and outer rims, planets and systems. The killing of a clones' General, Commander, Leader.

Their best friend.

The sound of your lightsaber hummed as you deflected the last of the B1s' shots, but the eerily noise of DC-15A behind you was enough to make you freeze.

"Commander?" was all you were able to mumble before a blaster shot came barreling from your left.

"No!—"

"Hey, hey! You're okay. Please look at me." Echo's voice was soft and reassuring. He caught you, once again, having nightmares about a certain incident. He pressed his lips together, grinning slightly as you made eye contact with him. Your panting slowed down and your posture eased up a bit.

You returned a lopsided grin when you came crashing back down to reality. You had no idea what time it was but you sounded like you were still rolling through hyperspace. The others were probably fast asleep.

Except Echo, of course.

"Y'alright?" Echo handed you a cup of water.

You chuckled, taking his offering into your hand, "Despite what you think, I'm capable of taking care of m'self." you took a sip from the cup.

Echo couldn't help the cheesy smile on his face as your stubbornness flourished, his hand resting under his chin to prop himself up. He was hypnotised as he looked into your eyes. He could stare at them forever. The odd warmth in his chest was growing again. Gosh, he had the biggest crush on you. Was it obvious?

"Not always," Echo took back your finished cup of water and placed on top of a crate he'd pick up on the way later — maybe. "Sometimes y'need help... like that time on Felucia!" he joked, nudging your elbow.

Your eyes rolled to the back of your head sarcastically, "That doesn't count! I can't believe you still consider it." your hand came up to rub your head in response to his stubbornness.

Echo chuckled before taking your free hand in his. Without a doubt, it sent butterflies throughout your body. Not even just your stomach; that's how he makes you feel.

"Rest up, 'lright? You've got a big day of training tomorrow." he rubbed his thumb against the back of your hand. Your ears felt hot like they could start a bonfire anytime soon. Echo patted your hand, placing it back on your blanketed lap before he stood up to walk back to his bunk.

You couldn't ignore the way he looked at you when he took your hand in his. It was so... caring. So comforting. Like the whole world of yours was in his eyes. The way his iris dilates like a cat staring at their favourite food. 

"Hey Echo?" it was record time when he turned around to face you, his eyebrows raising and a  small 'hm?' like whimper came out of him. "Thanks... for everything," you sent him a thin-lip grin, the corner peeking up just a bit to seem lovingly.

Echo's heart began to race at the simple appreciation. If anything, his heart would always race even just by the sound of your name. He sent you a toothy-grin, walking back to his cot. With a faint, warm blush on your cheeks, this is by far one of the best sleeps you had since Crosshair's chip incident.

As Echo tucked himself under his sheets, he had the biggest, cheesiest smile on his face.

He likes you so much.

No...

He loves you.

The hum of your lightsaber continued to deflect Hunter's stun gun blasters, the sound of them disintegrating as you successfully blocked yourself. This went on for about an hour and a half now. You insisted to train after the recent fight on Kamino and because Echo was going out with Wrecker for a supply run, Hunter and Crosshair offered to fill in for him.

There was something about Hunter and Crosshair. Sure, they're both attractive, fairly intelligent, fit, and caring, but they weren't Echo.

As you were lost in thought, Hunter hit the handle of your lightsaber. The saber quickly retracted, hitting the ground with a small, metal thump. Crosshair let his posture rest, his head tilted to the side at your mistake, "That's 24 already, where's your focus gone?" Hunter chuckled.

You rubbed the palm of your hand before holding out to your side to force-grab your saber. Hunter will never not get use to how cool using the force is. His eyebrows bobbed up then back down in fascination at how immediate you can get your focus back on track. He signaled Crosshair to get ready too.

"Oh, it's here, alright." it was almost teasing, a small smirk appearing on your lips before you heard the click of Hunter's blasters and Crosshair's rifle behind you.

Your eyes closed briefly to regain your concentration. Just like Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker said: "You need to remain calm; think. Feel the intention of the trooper who will fire first. You should be able to sense the moment before they even pull the trigger."

Just as Hunter's finger looped around the trigger, your lightsaber was already in front of your body as his stun blast barreled towards. You swiftly did the same thing behind your back, deflecting Crosshair's blaster shot.

The three of you exchanged grunts, Hunter strategically rolling across the ground to get angles below you so the difficulty went up a notch. Crosshair added his signature slide, making sure to aim at your blind side which was unfortunately blocked off with the bright light of your saber.

Echo and Wrecker came back to the space with a handful of crates and a market trolley for Tech who was inside, doing something with the control panel. As Wrecker took the trolley around to reach the Marauder, Echo stared at you in awe. You were so alluring.

He was mesmorised as he watched your figure do these spectacular jumps to block his brothers shots. The way you twirl the lightsaber against your hands to switch to a position more comfortable to hold depending on where a shot had been blasted from. The way your eyes scrunched up to focus and how your lips parted to receive air every time you whipped your head around to protect your back.

He pondered what it would be like to fight beside you again. Their most recent mission left you in shambles as your memory continuously reverted back to the trauma you experienced during Order 66.

Lost in thought once again, it was Crosshair's stun that knocked your saber out of your hand. Echo watched carefully at your expression and your reaction to yet another mistake.

"That's 25," Crosshair grumbled. "If we're ever going to be recruited again for missions, you can't keep doing this."

There he was. The Crosshair everybody knew. Echo rolled his eyes, beginning to walk towards where the three of you were training.

"We'll probably be ordered to do stuff like this 60 times more.” Hunter sighed, fixing the position of his bandana. You picked up your lightsaber but Hunter's words were the only thing ringing in your head. You groaned, catching Echo's attention, already worrying him.

"We'll probably be ordered to do stuff like this 60 times more," Hunter's voice rang through your head.

"...probably ordered... 60 times more!"

"...ordered... 60 times..."

"...ordered... 60..." 

Execute Order 66.

"No! Commander, stop, no!" it was lightning fast, the hum of your lightsaber igniting abruptly as it shocked both Crosshair and Hunter, but not Echo. He knew what was happening and what was about to happen was bad. It was even worse with your hand grasping desperately onto your saber to defend yourself. You were dangerous without focus and unaware of your surroundings.

"Hey! Hey, look at me!" Echo was quick to jog up to you, but had to duck down at the swipe of your saber. You were freaking out, the horrible memories circling back to you. Your commander, your best friend turning on you.

Your vision blurred, head light and heavy at the same time, "Get away! What are you doing?" you yelled with the might you had but it felt like nothing came out. Like no one heard you.

Like no one cared.

Everything slowly faded out from your vision, your knees hitting the ground first and then the metal thud of your lightsaber handle, "Echo...?"

Then you went black.

"Hey, you awake, you alright?"

"Come on, you're okay, you're okay."

It was Echo's voice. You felt at ease, calmer, and content when you slowly rose from your bunk. Your head still felt pretty heavy but it was put behind when the first thing you saw was him. Echo, your beloved.

Similar to your drunken state, your eyes relaxed and dropped slighty. You looked dazed from Echo's point of view and he couldn't lie at the amount of nervousness rushing through him. You were so beautiful, even like this.

"You doing okay?" his voice was soft, his human hand reaching for your cheek. He was warm and oh, so soft. You could rest against his hand forever if you were able to.

One of your hands came to cup his, the one still on your cheek. This time, it was you who rubbed your thumb against the back of his hand. You could hear a faint chuckle come from him and that was it. Something inside you snapped.

Your lips enveloped his, almost squeezing poor Echo's cheeks. You relaxed a bit more when you felt his lips move along with yours. It escalated quickly. Echo became more desperate and you became more passionate. As much as it was sloppy, it was loving. All of your feelings towards Echo was poured into the kiss. His scomp hand pressed gently behind your neck and his human hand still holding onto your cheek. It dropped to your lower back when you both pulled away.

When you opened your eyes, you giggled. The sight of Echo with his eyes shut gave you back your butterflies. Echo couldn't even begin to perform proper English when he did open them. All he was met with was you. You and your beauty.

"Wow... I.." he said, breathlessly.

"Sorry, just wanted to do that." you shrugged. It was true and Echo was more than happy to feel this mutual feeling.

"Please do it again." Echo begged, wanting to feel your lips on his again. This time, it was slower and steady. You both took the time to explore each others bodies with your curious hands. Echo found the perfect spot for his scomp to rest against so it wasn't uncomfortable for you and your hands found perch behind his neck. Perfect for pulling him closer than ever. A small moan escaped Echo's lips before you pulled away. You were both huffing and puffing for air, exchanging eye contact.

You chuckled, "Thanks again," your smile dropped as you finally remembered why you were sat in your bunk again. "Sorry... for uh, what happened out there. I didn't mean—“

"You didn't do anything wrong," Echo objected, pulling you into a hug. "D'you mind resting up again? I'll deal with the boys, okay?"

You nodded at him, a smile coming back to your lips make itself known.

"I love you, Echo."

Echo blinked a few times, shaking his head to make sure he heard it right. He couldn't leave you hanging when he felt the same way.

"I love you too."

coh-inspired star wars au based on the fact that anakin and turin are the same person:

an equivalent of the saeros incident happens when anakin is a padawan

why not during the clone wars? bc i want to save shmi

anyway. saeros is probs some dickhead senator bc i think for all their faults the jedi would've had an issue with his attitude sooner than doriath

obi-wan is on a mission without anakin. anakin gets assigned some lowkey diplomatic mission, possibly with another master (a mablung equivalent?) which involves spending time with dickhead senator

dickhead senator is a dick about anakin being from the outer rim/tatooine and as part of that makes some comment about the women of the outer rim/tatooine that anakin takes as an insult to his mother

(sidenote: while i generally think that if anakin and turin ever met they'd fucking hate each other, i could see them bonding over their opinions on what the appropriate response is to someone insulting/attacking your mother)

anakin punches the dickhead senator in the face but storms out before the situation can escalate further (he got some sleep the night before)

except whoops dickhead senator is pissed so he attacks anakin the next morning. this obviously does not go well for dickhead senator

also anakin at this point decides fuck it im done with self-control maybe some humiliation will teach this guy a fucking lesson!!

and so we get the whole. strip him naked and chase him at swordpoint through the forest (or i guess streets in this scenario?) until whoops he slips and hits his head and he's dead

and no one saw the initial attack so this looks pretty bad

so anakin decides that since the jedi will at best kick him out time to go on the run!

he ends up joining up with a crew of bounty hunters/pirates - whichever particular crew ur heart desires

and clocks that there's actually nothing stopping him from freeing the slaves anymore so...

in the meantime. obi-wan comes back like. what in the goddamn hell did i miss

does some detective work (he's beleg in this au) and finds out the dickhead senator attacked first!

either through a nellas equivalent (someone had a crush on anakin and expressed this via stalking and so saw the whole thing) or some other way you decide

reveals his discoveries to the council

the council is like. well he is causing problems with all the slave uprisings etc! and we're close to aotc so things are generally heating up in that regard as well

would actually be great to have anakin back in the temple and under control

so they send obi-wan to go get him and tell him he's allowed back

shockingly, anakin makes the same decision as turin does - he doesnt want to go back, hes actually doing something good here

unfortunately i dont actually think that obi-wan makes the same decision as beleg - he goes back to the order

anakin starts a land of bow and helm type deal with the worlds hes been freeing, and is v much at war with the hutts

this is where we diverge from coh, bc anakin isnt cursed

the clone wars probably look quite different

could be either a fix-it fic or a fuck-it-up-worse fic, dealer's choice

time travel and obi-wan kenobi equal so much pain and nonsense.

This man is a bottled up mess of anxiety, self worth issues, depression and ptsd.

He gets put in a toddler body and wants nothing to do with anything right now because the Force is once more an insistent thing tugging him to and fro.

He has masters and his friends worried because what little joy he did show previously, as a Vision having toddler, is now swept away and hidden and they have solemn, quiet Obi-wan who will go along with whatever you want. The only time he will deny you anything is when you cross one of the lines he set, unknowingly, and he goes to do whatever most will guarantee some alarm out of pure spite.

Despite not going out of his way, outside of a few instances to reach out when the Force pokes him to do, he does not intend to make changes around him.

Star Wars Prequels Headcanons from me and other fanfic authors

So Star wars Prequels headcanons. My personal ones, ones the majority agrees with, and ones you see in Fanfic. This is not including the Clone Wars headcanons except Ahsoka cause she's parts of this.

This is the Jedi we see and might need to spread into two or more parts. We have a lot to get through, so sit back and relax.

Disaster Lineage - its big, its chaotic and full of unstable people

Ahsoka Tano

- Bites people, from being a Togruta but also learnt that from Anakin.

- Eyes glow in the dark like cats and also pupils go wide like cats on catnip

- no ᑎO ᗷOᑎEᔕ so super flexible and can twist her head like an owl.

- She, i feel, is leaning towards more demigirl/genderfluid presenting female because a) vibes b) the way she acts and such and c) cause why not.

- was scared when she got two crystals cause she didn't know what it meant.

- very cute when she was younger

- Plo was absolutely her dad. Still is and will be

- messed around on the lower levels, with drugs, sex and all sorts of other stuff.

- knows bounty hunters and people on the black market.

- stays awake for 72 hours, eats very small meals and then crashes on the nearest wall. This has caused quite a worry with Healer Che.

- Hates Medbay, like the rest of the lineage and that's due to the war.

- Hyperactive and like Anakin, uses moving mediation.

Anakin SkyWalker

- When he joins the Jedi Order and such, he is bullied quite a lot

- Hasn't gone to therapy but in Fix-its he does and he doesnt turn if he goes to therapy.

- Anakin's ( and this is in some but i think agreed upon) name means Rain Bringer, as on Tatooine names have meaning.

- There is a multitude of ships between him and other characters.

- He knows a lot about biology and sex cause he had to go fix a bunch of broken machinery at the pleasure houses and learnt a lot from the " Colourful and Shiny ladies"

My personal Headcanons

- He knows slithers of langauges ( Mostly swears) because of traders/merchants, smugglers, pilots and so on.

- He bites people as a defensive maneuver when he was younger but I don't think he grew out of it.

- Definitely did not want to meet Palpatine at all but went to make Obi-wan and the Jedi council happy.

Obi-Wan Kenobi

- The force loves him so much and wraps itself around him like a blanket.

- He has too much trauma because of Yoda's meddling and Qui-gon being a dick.

- Most often found in Time-Travel fics cause why not

- He attracts danger, mandalorians, siths and darksiders and bounty hunters.

- An AU is when he gets de aged or sent back in time but gets chosen as someone else's padawan. Some of my favorite fics are like this.

- Absolutely hated tea and preferred caf at some point idk when.

- Has gone through so much trauma, bandomeer, Melia/Daan, On the run with the duchess of Mandalore, etc.

- Does Not like the New Mandalorians and prefers the true mandalorians instead.

- Time Travel fics get him either teaching himself, joining the mandalorians or freeing Shmi and Anakin before anything else.

- Also he speaks more than 37 languages because of qui-gon getting sidetracked on missions.

- ALso the council loves him and takes care of him sometimes.

qui-gon jinn - An Asshole

he doesn't get his name in capitals cause i hate him.

- an asshole and needs therapy.

- smokes space weed and is that weird uncle at family gatherings

- was SUCH an ASSHOLE to our smol bean obi-wan.

- ABUSED OBI WAN AND MADE HIM SUFFER

- picks up strays and other animals and creatures, resulting in obi-wan taking care of it.

- Repudiated his first padawan, his second fell or "sauntered vaguely downwards" ( Xanatos words not mine) and had Obi-wan who turned out traumatized and an teaholic.

- Yoda loves him, the Council hates him and Obi-wan's friends are the "we hate qui-gon club"

- Took Obi-wan cause of Yoda's meddling

there's nothing left to say about him but he can kriff off but also what the actual kriff was he thinking with Melia/Daan. Like I get your girlfriend is in trouble but still you could have not lied. Asshole

Yan Dooku

- Has high standards and is very dramatic.

- Him and Madame Nu definitely had something going on.

- Was never fully Sith.

- He's "Obi-wan's royal, dramatic grandpa" as Quinlan Vos states.

- Likes his Grandson very much and if he stayed he would absolutely spoil him. I think he does it by sending gifts and such and Obi-wan is so confused.

- Doesn't like his Great Grandson aka "walking disaster and not subtle at all" Anakin Skywalker, cause it reminds him of Qui-gon.

- If he was alive when Ahsoka joined ( idk what year he died aka got decapitated by his great-grandson) the linage, I can see him doing two things a) tries to get ahsoka to join him or b) Gives her advice on how to deal with politicians and teaches her to negotiate.

- Wine Mom or I guess Grandpa? Has a huge wine collection.

- I feel like excluding his lineage that he had a child who married and had a child meaning that in both in the Jedi Order and outside of it, he has grandchildren. Which means there's a descendant of Dooku running around space.

Yoda

*screams* A troll, goblin and menace to society. Put him in a nursing home. please

- Very chaotic and very old grandpa

- treats everyone like his kids cause they are

- taught kids how to speak like him and make no sense at all.

- The jedi council is just really tired of his billshit.

- Meddles in everything including who gets which intaite as a padawan.

- Gossips with other grandmasters.

- Makes swamp tea and stew which to everyone else is disgusting but they eat or drink it anyway to not get whacked.

- Yoda whacks peoples shins and most likely did it to politicians.

- very old.

Next time, the Jedi council and individual headcanons for them. I give up.

sudden crosshair future idea (more like fic idea but its nice to dream)

he pulls a jason todd

so the bad batch thinks hes dead (maybe the empire found footage of him fighting with the batch and declared him a traitor or hes listed as KIA cause the empire never comes back for him on Kamino and simply thinks him dead) and their distraught because thats their brother hes dead they should have brought him with them

meanwhile

crosshair has escaped the empires clutches and has decided to start taking over crime families/empires and starts to build his own empire (it wouldnt be a slave empire cause technically the clones were slaves so he doesnt want anything to do with it and kills slavers). itd probably be a spice (drug) empire that does bounty hunter jobs on the side like the guild in The Mandalorian.

and the batch sometimes takes jobs from crosshairs guild but they dont know its his (he knows who they are) and one day they discover it cause they have to meet the boss and just “cROSSHAIR???”

points if you give crime boss crosshair a wayward jedi padawan child

Started writing a Different First Meeting au where Ahsoka, 14-16 years old, crash lands on Kamino, only to find it almost solely inhabited by clones. In this au the war was stopped before it could be started and Palpatine is unmasked. Only, no one knew about the Clones, and the clones eventually are like 'fuck this' and rebel against the Kaminoians and take over. But bc the planet doesnt technically exist the republic has no idea this happened.

So Ahsoka crash lands there a couple years later and is like 'hello' and the clones are like 'oh, so this is a jedi' and just assume that the jedi are all like Ahsoka. Also Ahsoka has no idea that they dont know that shes just a padawan.

The problem here is that I really want ot go even deeper and have it so that all the clones have their memories of canon, but that would like tripled the length of the fic. Maybe I'll write an au of my au.

So for my ttau fic, i got thinking about contingencies that palps probably had. then i noticed something from canon.

the rest is under the cut

I know palpatine is smart. Jedi were falling left and right during the war, for good reason. their definition of dealing with trauma was "block it out and release it to the force" so not exactly healthy. so he wouldnt be short on potential apprentices.

but heres the thing: he's also in charge of running the military, meaning he puts people where he wants them. literally playing galaxy-wide 4-D chess. which means he plans for these things

him calling anakin back during the umbara arc was tactical. he knew krell would hurt the clones, the people anakin cared deeply for. and he also knew it would make him even less trustful of the order, because they didnt see a fallen jedi in their ranks, and now his men are dead because of it.

the zyggeria arc was planned too, but im thinking for more than one. He sent a former slave, sure, but he also sent a togruta. on a case involving enslaved togrutas.

the wrong jedi arc also showed that the government was willing to target anyone, and while he wasnt shown gunning for ahsoka's conviction, he no doubt had a role in it to try and further antagonize the order in anakin's eyes, but also ahsokas, and she left because of it.

palpatine has backup plans for his backup plans, guys. there is no way he didnt have at least two if not more Jedi he was considering for his plans.

ahsoka being one of them.

umbara would have hit her hard as well, she cares about the clones so much. knowing the order let a darksider who saw them as droids command them undoubtedly shook her.

seeing what happened on zyggeria would have shaken her as well. the republic was barely going to intervene. shaking her faith in the government she fights to protect.

the wrong jedi arc did both. the order expelled her because of the threat of political backlash, and the republic nearly convicted her under false pretenses. her own friend betrayed her, as did the people who she grew up with, and who raised her.

ahsoka and anakin are scarily alike. that's why they were put together as master and padawan. palpatine isnt stupid, he knows this. now, while canon doesnt confirm this, he had to have had backup plans in case anakin didnt fall.

and who would be better than his padawan?

So, I’ve got a few, though this is by no means a comprehensive list (and it’s almost exclusively gen, because this is me): 

Ensuring the Future, by Shouting_at_God_in_Latin, 79k, completed => AU where Obi-Wan has to learn to preserve his consciousness after death during the war. He’s the main focus, and it’s rather whump-heavy, but his relationship with Yoda is a delight. 

There (and back again?), by orphan_account, a 73k three parts series => AU where Cody and the Fallen Order cast travel back into the past. It’s Jedi Apprentice compliant but still a favorite of mine. The series is incomplete, unfortunately - but the first two stories are finished and they’re really, really good, and I especially love Cody and Yoda’s interactions in Galaxy Eighty Six.

Geonosis | Mustafar, by virdant, 346 words, completed => Just some character introspection by an author who really loves the Jedi as a whole! 

Always in Motion, by virdant, 1.5k , completed => Chewbacca time-travels. 

The Bust Busting, by virdant 1k, completed => Some fluffy worldbuilding about Jedi culture, and the statues made for the Masters who leave the Order. It’s some silly fluff with good (Jedi) Dooku & Yoda banter! I love it.

孝順 | filial, dutiful, by virdant, 1.7k, completed, part of a series on the Order showing love through sharing meals.  => Yoda shares food with his family. 

The Supreme Chancellor Kenobi AU (Ao3 link | tumblr masterpost), by @stonefreeak​, wip. There’s only 81k on Ao3, vs 127k on tumblr. => What it says on the tin - through a legal technicality, Obi-Wan gets elected as Supreme Chancellor. Yoda is amazing throughout, though I recommend chapter 25-26 specifically, where a nap is involved. (See Cody goes to see Yoda and Obi-Wan keeps working on the masterpost.)

Peppermint_Shamrock / @jedi-order-apologist has some stories featuring Yoda and it’s all gold.

From what I remember, Eirian Erisdar’s stories have a fairly canon-compliant Yoda, although it’s been a while since I’ve read them. The Silent Song is a 270k (wip) AU of Jedi Apprentice where Obi-Wan is mute, and it’s delightful. The author is @eirianerisdar on tumblr. 

Same goes for the entire Reprise series by Elfpen ( @elfpen​ ), a 500k+ behemoth of a time-travel fix-it Jedi Apprentice AU (wip) where Ben Kenobi comes back in Master Kenobi’s body and is introduced as Padawan Kenobi’s uncle. I don’t really remember Yoda’s characterization, apart from being pretty close to canon, but the author’s take on Mace is very refreshing and positive! 

My feelings on ruth baulding pretty much did a 180° after I re-read some of her characterization of Ahsoka (egregiously not good) but Interlude (6.5k, complete, post-Zigoola epilogue) and the rest of her Obi-Wan centric fics will always have a soft spot in my heart because of early high school years nostalgia. Yoda is a caring cackling troll in most of them. YMMV. 

Finally, here’s a bit of shameful self-promotion, ah ah.

Liberosis, by Be_Right_Back (me), 2.2k, completed => Anakin has to choose between Padmé and his place in the Order. I hope my love of Yoda shines through.

and an anakin who has a very deeprooted anger that comes out easily and is very stubborn but also an urge to care for the people around him? amazing dom. and an obi-wan who is used to being in charge and having his padawan listen to him and giving him praise to see him light up and being in control of the situation? also amazing dom.

so they get to be ~switches~ with each other because they complement each other's halves so perfectly that they fulfill their every need

Star Wars Visions: Overall Thoughts

The Duel: This was a very interesting choice for the first episode. Because this one both embraces the concept of "making a Star Wars anime" with the creative freedom of doing whatever the studio wants, while also challenging what, visually, an "anime" is. It's also one that combines STar Wars Mythos with a Kurosawa style to effortlesly tell a story that leaves the audience intrigued.

Tatooine Rhapsody: This one's boring.... Okay that's kinda rude.

Tatooine Rhapsody has an interesting premise, the problem is that everything about the "15 minutes format" works against it, because the story it wants to tell is stripped of everything but the essential, leaving a barebones story that only has the emotional cores, but not the scenes building and connecting those scenes. Which COULD work... if this was an animated musical.

That was the feeling I got when it started, making me think this would be one of those animated musical videos telling a short story alongside the music. Instead, it feels like a musical video in which they removed the music and replaced it with the dialogue, which puts in evidence how timportant music is in those.

To put in perspective what I mean I want to share this:

The Twins: AKA, "what people think when they hear the words "Star Wars Anime' " and it is... fine. It's fine. It's what it is and it's done really well.

I dont want to call it a "crowd pleaser". but it is the short that exists to fulfill certain expectations. To be the Bombastic type of raw emotional excitement and big proclamations alongside absurd physics and explosions.

A lot in it is nonsensical. Because the point is not to make sense, it's about shouting and being as huge as possible. This is what some people mean when they saw "Anime".

The Village Bride: This is the other series that someone would describe when hearing "Star Wars Anime". It has the same " animeenergy" as Twins, but in the exact opposite end of the spectrum. This is a quite story with quite, peaceful emotions, in which the story is not explained, it is shown. And it is done in the same way plenty of other anime shows of this kind do. I almost dare to say, this is a perfect short to show womeone and introduce them to Anime.

The Ninth Jedi: if Tatooine Rhapsody was also like a movie that had to remove everything but the essential. The Ninth Jedi feels like a Star Wars Movie that managed to tell it's story perfectly within 15 minutes. That was the feeling I got from watching it: This wasnt just a short story being inspired by Star Wars or giving it's own spin to the series. This felt Star Wars to me. It truly felt like I was watching the first part of yet another SW Trilogy, in a good way.

T0-B1: I want to like this one. It's Astro Boy wanting to be a Jedi with really neat animation and a subtle take on how the Jedi are supposed to be more than just "Fighting the Sith". But... It just falls apart in the second half. It just becomes dijointed and it just goes from one thing to the next without breathing room and no moment to let the audience process the weight of the scenes.

And the fight with the Inquisitor? it's neat animation, but it doesnt know if it wants to be a cartoonish Tezuka fight or a serious Jedi/Sith battle. and at times it's hard for one to process the fight because of how there is never any breathing room.

And that is the word I was left when it finished: BREATH.

The Elder: I mentioned how The Ninth Jedi just felt like Star Wars. How it managed to feel like one of the movies. Likewise, The Elder felt perfectly at home with any regular Expanded Universe stuff. I could totally see this story being... say... a one-shot comic. some extra content in any of the prequel movies or anything like that.

All of Star Wars Visions work on the premise of "we will give these creators complete creative freedom to tell a story with the Star Wars License". So in that context, of having the freedom of telling any story without having to remain "true" to the source material or "fitting" continuity, of being allowed to do whatever, THe Elder takes the creative decision of WANTING to fit perfectly with continuity.

There is no creative take, no creative license, on the mythos. It takes the firm decision of (and I dont mean this in a derogatory manner) wanting to be a Canon Compliant Fan-Fic. And on top of that, wanting to just be a very small tale of a Master and his Padawan and an Unusual event that happened. And it works.

Lop And Ocho: This was a pretty good short. kinda struggling a bit on the short format, but nonetheless still managing to be a good story about family bonds with a bittersweet ending. also Lop is adorable.

Akakiri: It was okay............. For some reason I felt someone had put the shole thing in fast-forward for a reason.
