Isn't it funny that most of the games in Kingdom Hearts end in tragedies, or very bittersweetly, AT BEST. And even the handful that are technically happy endings have the underlying pressure of the upcoming battle, so nothing is ever truly "outright happy."

#kingdom hearts #kh #i think that's part of the beauty and power of kh #the fact that it unintentionally and intentionally has that whiplash of the absurdity of mashing Disney and FF together #but still makes an earnest narrative that isn't afraid to explore things identity and trauma and mental health #is why it resonates so much with people who are willing to look beyond the “hehe disney x FF funny game lore doesn't make sense” image #and yes this series is ridiculous and goofy but also a lot of characters get fates worse than death and more often than not #have to keep pushing forward whether it gets addressed or not #my most favorite thing is seeing people who don't know kh not only get flabbergasted by the complexity (that stems from how abstract kh's #themes/concepts are) but be shocked by how moving and tragic it is #no kh does not have the typical “they lived happily ever after”#in fact they rarely do #but the fact it hinges so much on hope kinda hits differently #it's not hope full of sunshine and flowers but hope that stems from tears and separation and so much internal conflict yet carrying so much #love to not erase the cracks but fill them in gold #im starting to not make sense aren't i #anyway play kingdom hearts ehe #yoroshiu rambles

beatles poll, for research (reductive binary opinions only)

#i have a hunch that whether you think rubber soul or revolver is better depends on who your favorite beatle is #bc ive always liked revolver better and kaily prefers rubber soul. and kaily has always been a john girl and i. well i've always fluctuated #my favorite beatle as a kid was ringo but in adulthood i've never had a favorite; changes depending on the mood #i think paul is the better more consistent songwriter though #the beatles #john lennon #paul mccartney #revolver #rubber soul #beatles polls #like rubber soul just doesn't have any of pauls reeeeally great ones. i know it was a turn for their songwriting #but paul had stronger songs on pre-rubber soul albums like and i love her for instance #that's such a quintessential paul song even though it's very early for those. revolver is where paul mccartney became paul mccartney #john lennon was more or less always john lennon in that his songwriting quirks i think showed up pretty early #paul is like. to me. a master of his craft though. in his maturity you could tell he really became a virtuoso of composition #john became more john with age. as a songwriter. and i think his quality can be pretty inconsistent #but when john lennon was great he was great like only john lennon was #paul was stronger than john once they split. which is a hot take ppl don't like to acknowledge bc People Hate Pretty Boy Paul McCartney #i dont judge anyone for who they prefer that's just how i feel as someone who has listened to the beatles my whole life #i'm also totally discounting that ppl can have favorite beatles for reasons that aren't directly related to their opinions of the music #but abstract reasons for having a favorite beatle is too complex to incorporate in the reductive binary poll #this is a quadrant #and yeah i'm a strong paul/revolver fan. i mean ive said it a million times but here there and everywhere and for no one #some of my FAVORITE songs ever always for as long as ive been able to appreciate music and songwriting #they never get old to me #although i do kinda also like john's revolver songs better too. he's more even on both albums i suppose #like i wouldn't trade norwegian wood for i'm only sleeping. those are 2 of his best #tomorrow never knows and girl. yeah both of those albums had great john songs #oh i didn't even mention in my life. ok yeah rubber soul has the better john songs

#russian is like the surface of a feather like it's light but not exactly “soft” but still very delicate #german is . cute ? i think it's adorable . it has a lot of momentum it makes u wanna talk fast and talk a lot #like it's squishy . sleek surface w a soft inside #thai is like song . it's like interprative dance or maybe a trust-fall . everything follows from the previous thing #it feels like a little fairy flying up and letting itself fall and flying up again and so on (for fun). its so beautiful but also playful #mandarin chinese is like . idk why but it gives me the same vibe the concept of Observation does . like to read and to see and absorb #and then to translate that into smth else . like . imagine a poet people watching or an artist preparing a canvas w practiced hands. thats #the vibe. soft and elegant and musical but like...in a way that feels lived-in. arabic feels wise ? like music or poetry u read #and feel nothing about then years later u stumble on and it applies to everything in ur life. that kind of vibe. like it knows more than u #and itll make sure ur heart and soul grows as big as its lexicon . polish is like snowflakes falling . it has the feeling of complexity and #elegance but it's also so so light and slippery and...maybe not elusive but the feeling of losing a dance partner in a waltz ? like fun and #light but also an underlying elegance and somberness still . turkish is like the feeling when u get a text from ur crush #and your heart tightens and you cant tell if it's really painful or really amazing . it feels like unrequited love . or a caress #or making out with someone when you know its the last time you'll see them. its beautiful in a yearning longing way #korean is like joking around w ur friends and you've stayed up until like almost 5 AM and youre so delirious that everything is funny #and ur speaking kind of lightly and openly and everything you say holds a lot of weight and doesnt matter at all. you laugh at everything #and youre practically talking in inside jokes and watching the sunrise together . one of them hits u on the shoulder lovingly. ur by a fire #yoruba feels like the metatheory of the matatheory . abstraction until it circles back to intuition or maybe #it feels like plotting the route of a comet or maybe like the soft warm whirr of statistics. trying to verbalise beauty somehow #when you know the best thing you can show it is by telling everyone just look!! look at the sky just look!#anyway yh i think i could do this for every language ever tbh

just going on the record that the last scene with pelor and asmodeus last night where ayden finally drops away into his divine form is like. top 10 scenes in any actual play show ever for me. whew

#really enjoyed this little run.#i feel like it's the kind of thing that's not as accessible as like idk. calamity. bc it's wrapped up in so much esoteric lore #but i loved how ambitious that was and thought it was executed incredibly well.#like the whole thing felt so uniquely abstract-- while also just being about very human emotion and fear and rage and sadness #i know there's acting™️ involved but truly insane to watch for example nick just be like i AM the dawnfather and regardless of the fact #that as a human being on earth it is completely impossible for me to relate to his perspective with any kind of accuracy i am wearing that #shit like a coat. i feel what he feels.#all of them did this. just wild. the complexity of the divine perspective and that emotional landscape was just sooooo good #it speaks #cr spoilers #downfall #edit: watching the cooldown and brennan is just saying all of this lmao. 👑👑👑 w

C&A Complex Au

A human au where Caine is the landlord of C&A Apartments, and the cast are his tenants. The npcs are his staff, (ex. Receptionist Loolilalu, The Gator Handyman Crew, etc.) and the abstracted are just previous tenants that have moved out (or in Queenies case, is deceased.)

Equestrian Au

An au where Caine owns a ranch and the cast each has their own horse with a specialty profession. (Ex. Bronc Buster Kinger, Equine Vet Gangle, Farrier Pomni, Barrel Racer Jax, etc.)

Abstracted Queenie Au

An au where Queenie wasn’t sent to the cellar after she abstracted, becasue she wasn’t discovered. She abstracted at night, instead of day and Kinger was able to swiftly transport her from the fort and into her room and hides her from the cast and Caine.
