We had about 3 months to do all the art for this, which is tight considering we were all working on multiple projects. My fav thing about this series is working with Juliana, and how our house fills up with joke sketches.

Magical Girls In Progress

Icosa-Pink of my Shadow Girls series on the left, Aika from @kianamaiart's "I Don't Want To Be A Magical Girl" series on the right. After a few false starts at drawing Aika in the kind of proportions I used for 'Pink, I decided to just go with Kiana's style, which had the amusing effect of making 15 year old Aika much shorter than 14 year old Liv. (This is also the first time I'm drawing any of my magical girls above the tiny pixel art size, so I tried a bunch of twintail variants before settling on "looks like a heart" style. Oh, and the pose I wanted covered up 'Pink's gem, so I'll add a glow around the hands in the final art.)
