Like every Summer you spent most of your time trying to find something to do or trying to figure out was you could make a bit of extra cash for whatever you wanted or to pay rent if you struggled with it or got jipped at work. Your answer? A piece of paper that was stapled to a wooden pole that was a few feet from your apartment. “HELP WANTED! Please call...-” Perfect! Just what you so desprately needed. Your eyes quickly scanned the pale slightly crinkled page. A male aged 39 needing an assistant ASAP and is willing to meet with anyone who was willing at any time. You were quick to put the paper down and text his number to ask if he would be willing to meet up with you at the local bar. Luckily he agreed and you felt excitement bubble up inside of your chest. Finally your Summer wasn’t going to be boring. The bar was dim and loud. Music vibrated your body as you waited in your booth toward the back of the bar with a couple of drinks on the worn wooden table, condensation rings collecting on the coasters under the shimmering glass. Your heart was pounding at the thought that he might have forgotten or possible found someone else to be his assistant. The sight of a tall man with shoulder length dark hair, a black jacket and jeans caught your attention. Your eyes scanning up the tall figure until you were met with a dark gaze, a small smile on his face. You could feel your cheeks grow warm as he sat beside you, his large frame practically pushing you against the wall. “Hi. I’m Adam. It’s nice to finally meet you. Y/N, right?” His large hand wrapped around the thick glass mug and brought it to his soft pink lips. His voice was deep and booming. “Uh ye-yes, sir. Its um it’s nice to meet you too. So you’re looking for an assistant?” You asked leaning in so he could hear your soft voice over the music. “Yeah. Something like that and please call me Adam.I have a spare room for you to stay in. I’ll help you by guiding you through everything since sometimes its so much for first time helpers to get used to. Once you get used to it its smooth sailing.” He gave a soft smile. “Come by my place tomorrow with a weeks worth of clothes, toiletries, things like that and then we can discuss it further. Sound like a plan?” You gave a nod and smiled.

Once you got settled into your room, Adam stood at the doorway leaning against the frame, his arms crossed over his broad chest. He could since you were a bit nervous and let out a soft sigh. You were sitting on the bed with your hands clamped between your knees looking as if you were getting scolded by your parents for sneaking out late at night to go to a party.  “You didn’t read all of the paper did you?” He asked raising one of his thick dark brows.  “Noooope.” You drawn out with emphasis on the ‘p’ as you stared up at him, your mouth in a straight line.  “Oh boy. Okay so um... how do I?”  Your eyes widened and you felt as if all the blood was drained from your body as he smiled, sharp fangs glistening and poking out, his dark eyes now a soft honey color. When yous tood he quickly raised his hands up as if to show you he meant no harm.  “You drugged me. You drugged me and now I am tripping balls right now.” You panicked, your eyes glued to the sharp canines.  “Y/N. I uh I need you to remain calm okay?” He slowly approached you and took your hands in his, your hands looking extremely tiny compared to his. He had you sit back down so he could kneel in front of you. Both of you being at the same eye level. “The paper was to help with my need of survival. Yes I am able to eat and drink what normal humans can but I also need human blood to survive. I’m not going to force you to do anything you want, okay? I’m not like that. I want people who are willing and I care about your health both mental and physical. Tell me how you’re feeling now.” “You’re a vampire?!” You managed to squeak out. Adam gave a chuckle and nodded. “Can I... um could I touch your fangs? Sorry that was a weird as question ignore that. So um the whole thing... what um what am I needed for?”  “Well you’re going to be helping me with every day things as well as providing me my source of survival. But first I need you to sign a contract because I am not going to do anything until you’re 100% okay with it. If you want to go home and then thinka bout it or choose to never speak to me again then that is okay with me.” He gave a soft smile. “I just want to make sure you feel comfortable.”  After reading over the contract and making sure to double read the fine print this time you sat staring at the paper before picking up the pen, your hand hovering over the SIGN HERE line. You quickly signed the paper after double checkign one last time to all of the terms. The main one being at any time you are able to step back whenever you wanted. He wanted to make sure you knew that you were the one in control and whatever you wanted to know he would be there to help guide you.  “Okay. I’m ready now.” You stated with a shy nervous smile as he looked down at your signature before taking the paper and sitting it to the side on your bed side table before bringing a hand up to brush your hair back away from your neck, his arms wrapping around you further soothing your anxiety. You were more prepared and gripped his shirt as his fangs pierced your fragile skin at the crook of your neck with a small popping sound, the warmth of the crimson liquid pooling into his mouth as some trailed down your neck and chest.  This wasn’t how you expected your Summer to turn out but it was definately interesting and you got to spend it with a pretty cool vampire who suprisingly cared about your well-being and about how comfortable you were. And to top it off... you will know from now on to read the fine print.

4. Jack and Rose

Blame the door. Blame Rose. Blame James Cameron. Blame science. I don't care. I, and everyone else, HATED that Jack died. After all that.......... he dies? Seemingly in a dumb way.

James Cameron has obviously expanded on his decision making skills regarding deciding to kill Jack. Obviously while it was about Jack's science and the pure significance of the sum of loss the true meaning was......Rose. Rose went from her mother, to Cal, to Jack. She was always dependent on someone for survival, status, guidance or permission to live. If she had gone with Jack she'd be living Jack's life. Jack dying is what forced Rose to finally take control of her own life. I get that. It's noble. I also wanted Jack to live. The audience did as well and it did look like if she just moved over.... he would have.

Don't even get me started on "My Heart Will Go On" cause imma cry.

3. Buffy and Angel

Probably the greatest more tragic romance ever. A couple that defined the 90s with electric chemistry that saved this couple from being creepy instead made it sweet and chaste. Angel fell in love with Buffy the moment he saw her. It was her that motivated him to become A Champion. He gave her the iconic Claddagh ring.  That night, they slept together for the first time, which resulted in Angel experiencing the "moment of true happiness" required to end his curse. He was alleviated of his soul, and reverted to the guiltless, sadistic Angelus........ breaking viewers hearts. Especially this viewer. While Spuffy grew on me and Bangle grew apart..... it became clear even in the worst of times they were connected by the heart.

A romance destined to end in disaster all the same. This one was for the history books.

2. Augustus “Gus” Waters and Hazel Grace Lancaster 

Working through their illnesses together, the two manage a relationship that is mature beyond their years. Part of what makes the end of this romance so difficult to watch is the fact that though Hazel is much sicker than Gus, his cancer ends up making an aggressive and unexpected return. We should have known it wasn't going to end well, but we were hopefully, THEY were hopefully. The scene when Hazel gets the phone call that Gus passed away, pain just pain. Shailene deserved at least the very a nominiation.

Reylo

We could have had it all. Ben and Rey could have had the best of both worlds, powerful light and powerful darkness, a balance. Their love story could have brought balanced to the force.

Ben had felt alone and abandoned for a really long time, and had tried to channel those feelings to gain more power, but was clearly failing and having doubts. Then along comes a girl with whom he shares a fate-like connection, with a similar past of parent abandonment/betrayal issues, who opens up to him & seems convinced that he is meant to be someone better.... will become someone better.

But the internet is why we can't have nice things. Reylo benefited from it's fandom, it also was severely wounded from people determined to paint Reylo as something that it wasn't due to their own issues.

Prompt Idea: In need of Blood

When he found you, you were barely hanging on to life. Your eyes were glazed and lost in the murky waters, and your hair was tangled like broken vines from a willow. Your shirt was torn and shred from some animal he didn’t know; he’s never seen claws that big before. Whatever took you out and left you for dead wasn’t in a hurry; it took its time with you as if you were a plaything to its own muse.

Lester was gentle as he scooped your body in his arms and cradled you like a child. You were too light in his hold, and he could see the outline of your bones and veins under your skin and how they connected like a spider’s web. Your cold form shivered as his warmth kept you awake and relaxed. Your eyes fluttered then rolled as he removed you from the hellish waters and twisted tree limbs. You struggled a breath, and he hushes you like a mother towards a frighten child. In a way, you were a frighten child after the past few days in a hunter’s den. You were torn apart then stitched back together in an unforgivable fashion. You felt violated and stripped of what little you had left of yourself, of the line that separates you from monsters. Now, a stranger, kind and true, was carrying you out of the swamp and placing you inside his track with carefulness.

With the rumble of his truck, it roared to life, and he drove down the rough, beaten road to poorly done gravel road. The bitter smell of decay and dried blood was enough to make your mouth water, but you bit your tongue and clenched your jaw. You’re hearing wasn’t the best, but you knew the stranger was speaking to you. The voice was too muffled and quiet due to your ears ringing and buzzing like a light. Hunger was starting to set in, and it was burning a hole in your chest. You don’t attack humans; only animals. But the driver...you could smell his blood from under his skin and it flowed like a clear river. It was enough to make your stomach rumble and your fangs to grow. You felt your eyes change colors to a deep red. Even in his eyes, you saw your reflection and how it made him shiver once he realized who is in his truck.

Lester’s heard stories about what lurks in Louisiana shadows. He’s heard about the string of attacks in the cities and how there seemed to be a hive somewhere. Finding you out in the middle of the swamp after he was done setting up traps for gators should’ve rung alarm bells. But the claw marks on your body and the scratches that marked your body, making you look like a map of tortured and torn souls, should’ve made him run off for his shot gun in the back of his truck, but it only would’ve made things difficult. His hands aren’t as clean as Bo’s or Vincent’s, but it wasn’t as stained or darken by rich blood. It wasn’t as messy as the twins and their twisted artwork.

He saw you as a hurt deer, something that can be nursed back to health and let go into the wild after tending to your needs. He was Whatever called him to stay and help you...whatever possessed him to look after you, he’ll be as helpful as he could be. Besides, it’s his southern hospitality kicking in along with his nature to give a hand. He was always too kind, and it never scared him until the points of your fangs glowed in the starlight.

Lester swallowed the rock in his throat, his Adams apple bobbing like a toy boat down a rocky stream. The smell of his blood was intoxicating, and it drowned you in your own thoughts. If you had a taste, just a nibble, what harm would that do? He may be thin, but he had enough meat on his bones and blood in his system to serve you well and good. Only for emergencies, you bite humans. Only for emergencies, you feed off their blood and hang on their necks like a vise. The worry gleam in his eyes didn’t call you away or scare you; he knew what you needed.

The truck began to slow down until it stopped. He threw the car in park and turned off the engine, killing it with ease. He stayed in the driver seat as if he was reflecting what his next move would be. You watched as he closed his eyes and let out a soft breath.

“I’ll help you,” he said after a while. “I’ll help you, vampire.” His puppy brown and blue eyes looked down at you. “At least lemme getcha in the house before ya bite me, yeah?” When he saw you nod slowly, he unbuckles both himself then you and hops out of the truck. It wasn’t long until he was holding you once more in his arms. “You’ll be a’right, little vampire.” Why did the words make you blush? Why was the nickname repeating in your head over and over? “Les’ll make sure you’re alive after dis.”

Going into his house and heading to his little guest room by the back door wasn’t a long walk. From what you gathered from his little walk, his home wasn’t that big, but it wasn’t too small.

“Oh, I’m Lester, by the way,” he introduced himself as he laid you down. The mattress and cold sheets under your touch was soft like a moss bed, and he watched as your tensed body unfold like a blooming flower. “There you go,” he praises in a hushed voice. “I’ll get a rag; don’t know how long you were out there and—”

His voice trailed and stopped as soon as your pearly white fangs showed through your lips, plumped and bruised. Lester closes his mouth and swallows a thick, awed gasp. To him, you looked just as right as rain. A part of him hopes you drain every drop of him and turn him into a husk of a person. The way the moonlight laid over you like a blanket made you look like royalty. “Right, you need blood, little vampire.”

Lester lowered himself on the bed and awkwardly shifted you to be on top of him. He rubbed your back and turned his head to expose his neck until. You could practically feel it in your mouth even though you haven’t bitten down. You could taste it and feel it flow over down your throat ever-so-smooth and slick. His comforting warmth and slow circles on your back only made you feel more relaxed.

He almost felt like home.

Only for emergencies, you can break down and shatter the glass to that safety case. Only for emergencies, you can feed off humans and drink deeply in rich and sweet blood. Only for emergencies...just until your hunger is gone.

Some of my favorite unreliable narrator stories are the ones where you see the same story multiple times from different perspectives, and each narrator has their own biases, so you only get the complete picture when you’ve seen everyone’s unreliable version.

I feel like many people have a fundamental misconception of what unreliable narrator means. It's simply a narrative vehicle not a character flaw, a sign that the character is a bad person. There are also many different types of unreliable narrators in fiction. Being an unreliable narrator doesn't necessarily mean that the character is 'wrong', it definitely doesn't mean that they're wrong about everything even if some aspects in their story are inaccurate, and only some unreliable narrators actively and consciously lie. Stories that have unreliable narrators also tend to deal with perception and memory and they often don't even have one objective truth, just different versions. It reflects real life where we know human memory is highly unreliable and vague and people can interpret same events very differently

History/Fun Facts:

Severus’ childhood is pretty much the same, as in, it wasn’t the greatest.

When his mother and father first got together, they were smitten with each other, the two living their best lives together, Tobias getting his dream job and Eileen graduating from Hogwarts, now being able to stay with the man of her dreams.

Even when Severus was born things were pretty good, Eileen having always wanted a child, and Tobias’ job bringing in more than enough money to support them.

This was until Tobias lost his job, thanks to the company closing its doors.

This causes Tobias and Eileen to go into a depression, no longer having the money that they once had.

Eileen manages to find a small job, but it isn’t really enough to support the three of them, leading Tobias to turn to drinking to relieve his sorrow.

His drinking starts out as an occasional thing, the alcohol being like a reward at the end of the week. The drinking then turns more and more heavy, leading him to become abusive when angry, which was more often than Eileen or Severus could care for.

The only time would get relieved of the pain is when Tobias passes away due to his drinking.

After his passing, Elieen moves back to the wizarding world, bringing Severus with her, as she knew that this would be a safe place for them as they were both wizards.

This lasts until Voldemort rises and begins his attack on half-bloods, Eileen sacrificing herself to save Severus.

After murdering Severus’ mother, Voldemort offers the young boy to join him, who declines, having seen the strange-looking man kill his mother, the only person he had left.

As the mad sorcerer was about to murder the young child in front of him, a man appeared in front of Severus, protecting him.

This man was Albus Dumbeldore.
