I did manage to get some work done, though far from all of it. I felt a bit restless throughout the day but I stuck it out and managed not to get frustrated at myself. Go slow, don't stop.
Be kind to yourselves no matter how busy you are or how "easy the work is", you deserve it <3

📚 ADHD self-help book suggestions wanted!📚
Hello my fellow ADHD peeps!👋🏻
I am a graduate student currently taking a master’s in humanities. For my master’s thesis I’m going to write about self-help books directed to adults with ADHD. My main focus is going to be how these books describe ADHD.
I’m still going through the process of choosing my material and it would be really cool and super helpful if you could leave a comment/reblog and mention a self-help book you’ve read and why you liked/disliked it. It doesn’t have to be a whole review, a few words is enough. If you want to suggest several books that’s even better!
So let me know if you have any suggestions! ☺️ Thank you for taking your time to read, I hope you have an awesome day!🌻💛

My beloved Stats professor (that is still not a typo) just made me cry at my desk with the loveliest e-mail about ADHD brain and Stats and how anxiety cranks everything up. I'm still technically undx'ed but barring other things like PSTD or chronic anxiety (which don't fit my experience) I am extremely certain I'm a textbook case. And my prof has just been dx'ed herself and said she's had the same experiences all the way through. The difference is that Stats is her hyperfocus.
To know that she WANTS me to get through this course, and thinks I can more than succeed, and is working with me on deadlines and check-ins...it's huge. And while this is the last Quant Research course that is mandatory for my MA and prospective PhD programs, if I can hack my brain well enough in this course, there's no reason not to do the PhD level version.
But not till 2026 at the earliest.

Ngl i wish i had been able to learn math at my own pace and not speedrun it at everyone else’s bc I know I would have loved it. Puzzles are nice and math’s a bunch of number puzzles. But it sucks having to solve puzzles under stress and a short amount of time.

I started a bullet journal yesterday :-)
Recently I’ve been really struggling with remembering daily tasks, important deadlines, upcoming dates, etc. and I’ve also been finding it hard to keep track of which day of the month it is. My executive function has also been garbage and I’ve been finding it really hard to work on any academic projects. I’d heard that bullet journals can be more useful for people with adhd than regular planners since you can customise them depending on your daily and monthly needs and I’ve had a really positive experience so far! I’ve got daily task lists, post it’s for upcoming important dates and a list of The Big Jobs I Keep Putting Off Doing ^^’
It hasn’t fixed my brain or anything but it has really helped with the sense of impending doom I feel when I know I’ve forgotten something, because if I’m using it right anything I could have possibly forgotten should be in the journal! It’s also really helped with my executive dysfunction and I’ve definitely been finding it easier to start tasks because I know I get the reward of crossing it off my list when it’s done :3 I’m gonna try this system for a month and see how it goes, but hopefully this will be a positive adhd tool for me!

Trying to figure out what type of notes are best for me is actually driving me insane because I'm trying to cater to both my ADHD and ASD
My ADHD - needs colourful notes to help me keep the blocks of text seperated making them easier to read
BUT
My Autism - needs my notes to be simple and not overwhelming or overstimulating

My English literature professor: So this is how you read an academic text.
Me, thinking how I read them with headphones, text-to-speech on 1.5x and music blasting in the background: Yes, obviously
