Wow! You and the monkey king! What a pair of peaches you two are!
Did he make the first move or you? Surprisingly, I think you would have to be the one to make the first move. Obviously, Wukong could have easily done it—we all know how assertive and confident he is, but perhaps he wanted you to do it to see just how serious you are about courting him.
Sometimes, he'll drop certain hints or try to steer you in the right direction to confess. Things like 'I wouldn't mind if you stayed longer', 'You hungry? I know a great place we can eat at, just the two of us though', or 'We would look really good together wouldn't we? Ehh, maybe not…who knows?'
After you make that first step and confess, he'll act surprised before asking what took you so long to say anything. Wukong will tease you for weeks on end about how long you took to confess if you don't shut him up
Anyway-
Where do y'all usually do dates? Your home, his home(s), festivals, and rarely do the two of you go outside of China for dates unless Wukong is feeling extra adventurous. Since he's retired, Wukong has a lot of time on his hands when he's not helping MK save the world or training his successor. Other than the locations, I think Wukong would have a lot of things on his 'bucket list' for the two of you to do.
Gifts? Oh, oh, be prepared to be swamped with gifts ranging from random flowers that remind him of you, bugs, artifacts, and other extravagant things you couldn't possibly fit in your home. It wasn't until you piped up about the bugs did Wukong stop with the creepy crawlies.
PDA? Of course, but depending on your preference he can be full-on touchy and obnoxiously sweet, or he could be discreet and have a hand on you somewhere. Just expect to be kissed, hugged, or touched in some way every five minutes or so.
If PDA truly bothered you, Wukong would refrain from doing anything–but when the two of you are finally alone he'll stick to your side like glue and it'll take a while for you to peel him off of you. Good luck ^^'
First kiss? Perhaps after the first few dates you two shared your first kiss together.
How he acts around them vs others: I think Wukong would act the same, just more handsy and playful compared to others. Bickering about trivial things, pinching you at random times but not enough to hurt, getting in your face to stare at you whenever you aren't putting your full undivided attention on him, and that kind of stuff.
Of course, there's the omission of information and white lies that you will not tolerate. Wukong could fool others, but you wouldn't stand for dishonesty especially while the two of you were in a committed relationship.
At first, it was hard getting Wukong to understand this boundary, but not every relationship is perfect–still, trying to break habits that have lasted for who knows how long is VERY difficult. That's why the two of you started off with the little things. Sure, Wukong slips up from time to time, but he genuinely is putting in an effort to not withhold information from you whether it's regarding life-threatening situations or things like how he is feeling.
Wukong would definitely take every chance to show off to you, especially whenever he was teaching MK. Sparring without his top, taking a few moments to flex in certain angles–he'll even blow you a few kisses from time to time.
And you'll eat that shit up every.single.time.
Generally, you're going to need to have a lot of patience and be open-minded when dating Sun Wukong. If the relationship could be described with one word then it's a rollercoaster. There's the ups and downs, perhaps a lot of downs (like the fact that he's going to outlive you), but you wouldn't have had it any other way.

Strange Beginning AU(LMK)
Context: set in the Song Dynasty in China, humanity has never seen demons because they were in hiding to blend into the crowds of humans. However that changes when a certain demon monkey meets the monkey king and his warrior.
MK grew up in a small demon village, living with his adopted father Pigsy and his friend Sandy who supported him during his life. However MK was the only demon monkey in that demon village, that’s when he realized he must have been from The Monkey Kingdom in flower fruit mountain which he wasn’t fully aware of till he discovered the stories from Sandy and Pigsy. MK being quite adventurous attempted to travel all the way to The Monkey Kingdom.
During his travel, he’s met small human villages but knew a couple things of being hidden as he hid his tail and ears from them. It worked successfully and he managed to leave the villages and continue his journey- only to find the wrong location..The Bull Demon Fortress.
MK snuck inside only to meet Mei and Red Son. Who had caused the three to become startled by one another, the two royals were close friends- specifically only friends from being restricted by the outside world. Which makes them astonished to see a demon monkey in person, the two immediately started asking questions and giving MK a tour besides turning him in to their parents. After awhile, they let MK secretly stay for the night and find out MK was searching for The Monkey Kingdom. So the three had agreed to help each other.
The trip wasn’t long as MKs old trips before he met the two royals, and it was a relief for the young simian. As they inch closer to The Monkey Kingdom, they were ambushed by a group of simians who were in the lookout, startling everyone and preparing to fight. However during the fight it was cut off as Macaque had cornered the three down. MK was astonished by seeing many demon monkeys, specifically to Macaque by seeing his ears while Mei and Red Son were too busy trying to escape them.
Macaque had brought them in and informed the king about the three intruders, instead of them being taken to be punished. The king was quite immature than Macaque, laughing and joking towards the children- he was actually excited to see them and introduced himself as Sun Wukong.
Sun Wukong and Macaque had discussed with the three young demons, MKs main purpose was to find where had came from and lead him to travel here. It left the two simians confused as they had never been informed of a missing simian child from their kingdom. Leaving everyone concerned and confused, MK wasn’t originated from this kingdom and it left everyone wanting more answers. During the time, Wukong had decided to give the three children a tour around the kingdom since they never had guests at all. Macaque kept guard of him and Wukong kept teasing about it, MK had noticed their dynamic was strange but he didn’t know what it was.
MK has stayed in the kingdom for quite some time, having permission for Pigsy and Sandy to visit at any time. It was later announced that MK would be trained by Macaque to fight much better, seeing that he was a poor fighter in general. But as the two train more and more, MK learns a lot of things about the royal guard. Revealing that macaque isn’t a regular demon monkey but instead a celestial like wukong. Along with a possession of a strange ability that manipulates shadows. The two had kept it secret till it was the right time to tell the others.
Besides the demons point of view. humans were inching closer into finding out about their kind and beginning a uprising of killing all of them. A couple of demon monkeys were found and tortured as well as being held in captivity. Causing the monkey kingdom to grow worry as they noticed a couple of their friends and families going missing.
During that time, macaque and MK went out of the kingdom to start their routine, but while they head to their spot they found a human village near the kingdom. But what had caught MKs eyes were cages of bloody corpses of familar simians, MK informed macaque immediately and without macaques permission, he had went out to try and help a few escape. It was successful but unfortunately the two were caught and had begun running back to the kingdom, sadly the humans were inching closer to them and Macaque had decided to hold them back to let MK and the other simians to escape easier. Only for the dark furred simian to be struck in the eye by an arrow as he was too distracted fighting with many humans.
MK made it back to the kingdom and informed Sun wukong, seeing the king become pale and shock had startled MK of seeing his cheerful expression disappear.
Sun Wukong went out to save his companion, Macaque, only to see his beloved friend injured and bleeding out on the floor. However he wasn’t dead due to his immortality but he felt regular pain regardless. It had angered the monkey king and left him into a frenzy.
(THATS ALL I HAVE FOR NOW BUT HERES SOME INFORMATION OF THE LOCATIONS)
The Monkey Kingdom
Set in flower fruit mountain, this kingdom is filled with many primates from Large to Small. The main temple/castle is hidden behind the curtains of a waterfall and their emperor is none other than The Monkey king AKA Sun Wukong.
The kingdom is quite far and hidden, but they are known to be a good asset of strength and agility. However, they’ve never interacted with other kingdoms in the last century.
Besides their emperor, they have a second command and also the royal guard who protects Him, The Six Eared macaque.
They celebrate a lot and have many festivals with foods and drinks, known for their tropical fruits.
Sun Wukong wasn’t the original founder of the mountain but instead was the third (and permanent from being immortal)
The Bull Demon Fortress
It’s the second strongest kingdom in China, known for their manipulation of power and flames
The kingdom associates with the dragon kingdom making them close allies (which is why Mei and red son are friends)
Despite their brute force, they have exotic foods as well but mostly meat and spices which they sell and gain more wealth.
The Demon Bull King hates the monkey kingdom because the last time he visit wasn’t a warm welcome (so the relationship of these two kingdoms isn’t good but they keep their distance towards each other)

Left my own art, right commissioned from peacchip
ok ok I think I've vaguely figured out some of my OCs backstory for Black Myth Wukong.
She goes by the name Oz (奥兹 Àozī ) - it's not her "real" name, jsut what she prefers to be called. You can find more BMW verse info and OC fanart under the tag Cepheus Baskerville. A head's up that I've had her since 2017 and I throw her into any fandom I am obsessed with, so her backstroy gets adjusted according to my current obsession.
She is a modern OC that gets isekai'd into fantasy ancient China. Oz has met the Monkey King before as a kid, spending summer at her great-grandfather's house, and he has some random sorts of knick knacks lying around in the attic, one of them being a magic object that serves as a portal between two worlds. He was buried under the mountain by then already, she'd bring snacks and food and cake over and visit him and he'd tell her stories of the Great Sage Equal to Heaven. Also time flows differently between the two worlds, what is a day in her world sometimes it would be weeks or months or years that passes for Sun Wukong. Being the dumb 5 years old kid she is, she promises that she will save the Monkey King one day. He chuckles at the declaration and plays along with it.
And then summer ends and her great-grandfather passes away, and she grows up and forgets about the Monkey King, at this point it's just a vaguely rememebered childhood memory of an imaginary friend of a lonely girl that loved mysteries and stories about heroes and adventures. to be honest, SWK also forgets about her LOL like my guy was buried under a mountain for 500 years and he probably watched a lot of mortals growing up and passing away, she was just another one of them albeit an odd one out. Thinks she is already pushing up daisies by the time he got out under the mountain and journeys west
Fast forward to when she turns 2X years old and inherits her great-granfathers house and everything that is inside, finds said magical portal object again and what dya know, time to fullfill her promise and """save""" Sun Wukong, or help his reincarnation on his journey to obtain all artifacts.
As to why her great-grandfather has a magical object like that - maybe her ancestors were from that other world and escaped into this one through said object (probably because the Celestial Court is being a dick) and settled down and got married and had kids. Maybe there is some magic in her blood that has been dormant for centuries and with being back in fantasy ancient China, it slowly becomes active again? I can imagine that sometimes when they bump into Celestial Court members they'd be like "you seem awfully familiar your face but idk why and I don't like that feeling". probably gets called a traitor by the court a lot because of the actions of her ancestors LOL

Sun Wukong x Fem! Reader - Selfish
Paring: Sun Wukong x Fem! Mortal Reader
Rating: Rated E

︵‿︵‿୨♡୧‿︵‿︵︵‿︵‿୨♡୧‿︵‿︵
You were resting in your room, scrolling through your phone in your own world. You could hear the sound of your family talking and laughing in the front. You sighed as you lost yourself in the content before you on your phone screen.
You live a double life, to your family you're a nobody, you're a nerd, and you like games, anime, quirky music, cosplays, and fanfiction. However, they're unaware you're friends with the chaotic group.
The Monkie Kid: MK
The Horse Dragon Girl: Mei
The Noodle Master: Pigsy
The Mythology Pro and allegedly Professional Food Critic: Tang
The Blue Friendly Giant: Sandy and his sweet little companion Mo
The Fire Baby: Redson
The Shadow Monkey: Macaque
The Lotus Prince: Nezha
and The Monkey King himself: Sun Wukong
You were a strange group, but it was worth it, they were the best things that could've ever come into your boring life. You first discovered them through Mei's live streams that she would stream at the most random of times, but it was always funny to watch them goof around and sometimes it was eye-catching when a random monster would appear.
You met them by chance one day when your brother ordered noodles from Pigsy's shop, you were unaware of where he got his noodles from but you couldn't care less, you answered the door with a bored expression ready to make an exchange of money for food when your whole world was turned upside down.
You were overwhelmed with excitement when you saw it was MK himself, to say you were their biggest fan was an understatement. You fangirled, and you ranted your love to him and his friends, and he took in kind as he puffed up his chest in pride. You were able to get his number and that was a good day, then it became even better a few weeks later when he had to deliver another thing of noodles, this time he had Mei with him and she liked you instantly.
She and MK stayed at your home for an hour before she invited you to come with them to the arcade and after that, you were friends with them. Being friends with them started off normal, with sleepovers, hanging out, going to the movies or the mall, hanging out at Pigsy's Noodle shop... it was normal until you ended up going on one of their adventures due to chaos breaking out unexpectedly with you there.
Mei took this as the perfect opportunity to bring you with them on an adventure so that she could show off her and MK's powers. MK was hesitant, but it didn't take much convincing when Mei mentioned it. "You can show off your Monkey King powers!!" And he was sold instantly. You were terrified yet excited to be on the scene of the battle. The trembling of the ground, the bright glows of powers, the giant dragon, the Monkey Mech, it was all so addictive.
After that, you were always on their adventures with them, rooting them on from the side while also helping them plan out their battles. It's been like that for a few months now, and you've grown to love it. One day, MK decided to introduce you to the Monkie King, you knew of the legend of Monkie King, everyone in China did, it was a simple children's story that all children knew.
Before you met your new friends, you never believed in them, but seeing their powers in the flesh, you weren't so confident in your own skepticism anymore. So off you went, with MK, on his unstable and very quick pole. You clung onto his back for dear life as you hid your face from the winds that whipped past you both.
You and MK finally broke through the thick clouds, and you stared on in awe as you saw Flower Fruit Mountain surrounded by beautiful clouds. "Wow." You said breathlessly, MK chuckled. "YEAH!! IT'S PRETTY AMAZING, YEA!?" He shouted over the winds. You nodded silently as you stared at the view. It wasn't much longer after that when you and MK finally landed on the cliff of the mountain.
You looked around in wonderment, taking everything in amazement. You stared out over the vast lands that lay before Flower Fruit Mountain, and a small smile grew on your face. You jumped in shock when a little monkey landed on your shoulder. You stared at the little monkey in shock for a while before you smiled kindly at it. "Hey there, little guy, where you come from?" You asked sweetly to the monkey as you gently rubbed under its chin.
As you did, loads burst from the trees and higher rocks, you looked around in shock as they all surrounded you, speaking among themselves as they sat around or climbed over you. MK chuckled. "Oh, man!! Looks like they like ya, which is an extremely good thing." He commented. You looked over at him questionably as you held a monkey by its underarms.
"Oh yeah? Why's that?" You questioned. He was about to answer, but another voice beat him to it. "BECAUSE THEN THAT MEANS I'LL LIKE YOU TOO!! HANDS DOWN GUARANTEED!!" His voice echoed out. You looked around rapidly as you looked for the owner, but you couldn't find him, so you looked to MK for guidance, but he did nothing as he shrugged and smirked at you in amusement.
You turned back around to ask the little monkey in your hands, but you were met with a face instead. "Hi." He simply said with a relaxed smirk. You gasped dramatically as you stepped back doing karate chops and gestures before you took a ridiculous stance in shocked defense. MK, Monkey King, and all the little monkeys stared at you blankly. Your cheeks slowly warmed in embarrassment before you quickly straightened yourself up. "Umm, ahem... Hi." You awkwardly waved at him. He arched a brow at you as he looked you up and down before he shot MK a smirk. "I like her." He said as he jabbed his thumb at you.
"AWW YEAH!! I KNEW YOU WOULD!!" MK cheered in success as he fist pumped in triumph. You nervously smiled happy to have been accepted even after your embarrassing first impression. Monkey King smirked at his student before he looked over at you catching your attention. You straightened up and he chuckled at you before he walked ahead his hand waving for you to follow him.
"Come on, let me show ya around." He said, you nodded your head before you followed after him. MK continued to rant about how he must be Monkey King's psychic. Monkey King Shook his head in amusement as he comically grabbed MK by the back of his shirt with great ease.
He carried him on, while MK continued to celebrate, you chuckled at their antics as you followed closely behind them. He stopped in front of the waterfall, you watched curiously as he held up the ranting MK to the waterfall. You stared with an arched brow as you tilted your head. He looked over his shoulder at you with a proud smirk. "Give It time and watch the magic happen." He said You nodded slowly as you watched MK rant for another 30 seconds before he suddenly spread his arms wide apart and the waterfall parted like a giant beautiful curtain.
"Woah." You whispered in amazement. He looked back at you with a smug smirk. "I know, cool right?" He asked smugly and you couldn't help but just nod your head. He walked through the parted waterfall, and you followed after him, the little monkeys all followed as well, as they ran ahead of the three of you. "So, what's the story between you two?" Monkey King asked as he walked through the cave he calls 'home', MK still in his hand as he enjoyed the ride, his legs outstretched before him as he rested his hands on his knees.
"Me and MK met through my brother by chance." You explained as you looked around the place. He nodded his head idle as he listened to you speak. MK looked up at Monkey King with wide eyes as he nodded. "Mhm, her bro wanted some noodles so I delivered it and that's how we met." He said with a little smile as he pointed his thumb at himself proudly. Monkey King smiled down at him. "Oh yeah? Great job, bud, you found a keeper!!" He said cheerfully as he rubbed his head with his other hand.
You smiled at them. 'It's like a dad with his kid, cute.' You thought.
Your first meeting with Sun Wukong was very impressionable, he was funny, chill, relatable, and very family-oriented with his monkeys and MK. It was a pleasure to see, and you wanted to come by and visit more often.
Sadly, going to Flower Fruit Mountain was a rare occasion for you, it was usually only when the world was in parel or when you were all having a celebration party after defeating a villain. It was usually during those parties that you got to hang with Wukong.
You'd laugh and play, joke, and just enjoy each other's presence. Eventually, it went from that to him coming to visit you at your family home, but he always managed to disguise himself as some sort of animal, but you told him that a cat was more favorable.
This way, it wouldn't seem weird to your family if they saw you out petting a cat, he'd usually have to sneak in at night when everyone was too deep onto their own worlds to give a damn. Some nights he'd kidnap you and would just fly you over the city, take you to some cheap restaurant, or just go to Flower Fruit Mountain.
These slowly became yours and his guilty pleasure, going out on night adventures that could last till three in the morning. It was like having a best friend that your parents considered a bad influence. MK and Mei, were your best friends, but Wukong was special.
He was your friend who was over the best friends. It was like that for a while, a few years, actually... but eventually, those feelings began to blossom into something else, something deeper and scary. You didn't want to create distance between you two over some romantic feelings, so you tried to hide them, be normal... but it was almost like he knew.
He'd do things that would make your heart flutter, or he would say things that would make your breath hitched. It was a losing battle, and you were feeling cornered, so you tried to make distance between you two. Making up false issues that would postpone a hangout, you would fake being slightly unwell to make him leave you to 'heal' for a few days... you didn't want to, but it was all you could do.
But Wukong has learned a thing or two in his age, he knew what you were doing, what you were feeling, how you were taking it, he knew better than anyone else. But he'll give you your space, give you time to realize that your feelings weren't a phase and that they were real.
He wanted you to embrace your feelings, he'll help in doing so. He'll send you flowers, cake, chocolate, jewelry, makeup, that new game you wanted, clothes, anime merchandise, anything and everything you wanted, and he'll be sure to write his initials extra large on the little tag so you'll know who it was from.
You were a wreck, he was still so close yet so far, making distance only made it worse, the gifts he'd send would make you want to be close to him... He must've felt the same way... So, with that thought, you made up your mind, you packed a couple of bags, all of your personal belongings boxed up and ready to go.
Your excuse to your family? "I'm going to donate some of this stuff and get new things, I'm ready for a new look, is all." You'd say. it took you a few days, but eventually, your entire room was packed. You had to be smart with it, leaving things out that you would use every day until the final night you'd pack it all.
You wrote a note to your family, telling them that you're going to go away with the love of your life and that they'll see you again in the far future, you'll never forget them and you'll even send them gifts and letters once a month.
Once that was done, you opened your window wide, and you waited... it wasn't a long wait, not at all, he was there within minutes. Perched on his cloud, his goody smile you love so much on his face. He reached up and grabbed a few blade furs, he blew and created 5 clones. They made quick work of gathering your packed belongings. They all jumped out the window with a box or two in their hands.
You watched them with wonderment as they worked like a moving crew, one even grabbed your bed, how that was gonna work out you didn't want to know, but he did make it shrink, so that's cool.
Once they were all gone, you couldn't help but look around your now empty room, you were going to miss this place, your family, everything... You never thought that you would be leaving your family like this one day. You sniffled as tears unexpectedly gathered in your eyes as you hugged your arms around yourself, trying to feel comfort. You flinched in shock when a pair of arms wrapped around you from behind.
You looked back, and you saw Wukong, a sweet little smile on his face as he looked at you. You smiled before you looked around your room one last time. He gently guided you to the window, he jumped out first and onto the cloud, before he offered you his hand. You grabbed his hand as you placed your foot on the window seal, but you didn't have to put too much effort into it as he hoisted you up with ease.
Once on, you fished around in your pocket and you pulled out the folded-up letter, you held it in your hand for a bit, almost like you were debating on it, but with a brief glance at your empty room, you nodded to yourself. You leaned forward and placed the letter on the window seal. You stared at it sadly, but you were happy. With one last look around the room, you slid the window close.
You leaned against the glass for a moment before you pulled away, you released a sigh, a hand on your shoulder made you perk up and you looked over at him. A small yet understanding smile was on his face. You smiled back, you stood up and you wrapped your arms around his neck while he wrapped his arm around your waist, and just like that, you were gone.
The wind blew past you rapidly as your home quickly disappeared in the distance behind you, the moon that sits high in the sky made you smile as you leaned against his shoulder. You were going to miss your family, but for once, you were going to be selfish.

Journey to the West Chapter 38
Pigsy crawling out of a well with a dead body:
Tumblr media
In this chapter of Journey to the West with @journeythroughjourneytothewest we continue onwards with Tripitaka's ghost busting adventure. So let's get into it shall we?
We begin this chapter by checking in on the Prince who is currently sneaking into the city to visit his mother. Said mother is currently having a bad day, having been haunted by a spooky dream the night before. She is cheered up significantly however when she see's her son again for the first time in years. However that joy will soon diminish slightly, because he's not here for small talk he has an important question he needs to ask her. He asks his mother for a pardon before... asking her about her sex life with the king. Now knowing why he asked for a pardon just to ask a question the Queen dismisses her attendants before answering- that it was great! Until three years ago that is.
The Prince decides that the imposters lack of game is proof enough that Tripitaka and Monkey were telling the truth and he tells his mother the whole story and shows her the Jade Token as further proof. While they are on the subject the Queen brings up her spooky dream from earlier. In said dream the dripping wet king told her he was dead and had gone to beg Tripitaka for help. She's a bit peeved however that he apparently decided to visit both the Prince and Tripitaka before coming to see her though.
After talking with his mother the Prince takes his leave back to the Monastery to report back to Sun Wukong. So the Prince tells him everything and Monkey just tells him to head back for now and he'll join him there in the morning. The Prince however offers to stay with Monkey and they'll go together tomorrow, but Monkey points out that that would make the Daoist suspicious. To which the Prince points out that the Daoist will already be suspicious since the prince is supposed to be on a hunting trip right now, but they haven't caught anything. That or the king will just think the prince is an incompetent loser and throw into jail over it. And man, you can go to jail for anything in ancient China apparently, does that mean I can add 'incompetent loser' to Pigsy's crime list?
Luckily for the Prince's reputation, Monkey can handle the hunting thing just fine. He does this by summoning some local gods and ordering them to bring them some animals for the prince to take back with him. So the gods use some wind to capture a wide variety of animals and present them to Monkey. Monkey then orders them to pull out their leg tendons and leave them on the side of the road for the hunting party to gather up on their way back. So I'll be adding animal abuse to Monkey's rap sheet for that one. Anyways that done, Monkey tells the prince to head back with his hunting party and pick up all the game on the side of the road.
Monkey meanwhile returns to Tripitaka, they all have another meal together before heading off to bed. Monkey however is feeling rather restless and decides to bug Tripitaka about it and tries waking him up. Tripitaka, not really in the mood to deal with Monkey's nonsense, pretends to be asleep. An action he quickly regrets when Monkey grabs his bald head and starts shaking it to wake him up. So after yelling at Monkey for clamoring around this late, Monkey brings up the topic he wanted to discuss.
Turns out he's a bit worried about tomorrow, not about capturing the evil daoist of course, but more about the repercussions afterwards. The daoist has been disguised as the king for three years after all, so arresting and charging him won't be easy without some kind of proof. Luckily Monkey already has a plan, but there is just one obstacle in this plan, Tripitaka himself. Monkey explains that Tripitaka is rather partial to Pigsy and tends to dote on him, but Monkey needs to borrow him for his plan. The plan is to recover the old kings body from the well with Pigsy and use that as their proof while Tripitaka stays with Sandy. Tripitaka is fine with this plan, but is worried that Pigsy won't agree to go. To which Monkey insists that he will convince him as long as Tripitaka let's Monkey go near him.
So Tripitaka gives the thumbs up to sacrifice Pigsy to this plan, so Monkey excitedly goes to wake him up right away. So Monkey wakes up Pigsy by tugging on his ears, and if this is the kind of treatment the pilgrimage always gets in the mornings I feel sorry for them that the alarm clock won't be invented for another thousand years. Anyways once Pigsy is awake Monkey tells him that the Daoist has in his possession a treasure the could defeat 10,000 warriors, so they are going to steal it before he can use it against them. Pigsy is willing to go on the condition that he can keep the treasure after it. Monkey knowing that said treasure is actually a dead body, is fine with this deal. And tells him that he's only in reputation not treasure. Which brings up an interesting point, Money is Power, but to someone like Monkey who has *real* power, what does he really need money for? He can usually just get whatever he want's by strong arming people into giving things to him. Or failing that just outright stealing it.
So Monkey and Pigsy sneak into the city by jumping over the palace walls and make their way into the imperial garden which has fallen into ruin. They look through the garden and find a tree that is in a lot better shape then any of the other plants in the garden. They take a moment to admire it, before Moneky order's Pigsy to up heave it. Seems like Monkey hasn't learned his lesson from the last time he killed a tree. Hopefully this time an immortal isn't going to come in and whip that all for it.
Anyways so they kill the tree and find a stone slab under it, which Monkey has Pigsy open up for him. As soon as the well opens up, a beam of light immediately shoots up- always a good sign for treasure hunters. Except turns out the light is just the water reflecting the moon and stars. Since they don't have any rope to make their way down the well, Monkey has Pigsy take off his shirt in order to tie him to his staff and lower him in slowly that way. Pigsy yells at him to stop once he reaches the water, but Monkey just grins and plunges him headfirst into the water anyways. Pigsy is annoyed by this but just unties himself from the pole in order to look around. Eventually Pigsy dives down deeper to look and see's the words 'Water Crystal Palace'. Turns out there aren't just ocean dragon kings- even well's get a dragon king I guess.
A patrolling subject of the Well Dragon King spots Pigsy and goes to report his presence to their boss. Luckily the Dragon King is already well versed on the situation because a god had stopped by last night to give him an official decree to give the king to the Tang Monk. So the King invites Pigsy inside and Pigsy walks on in but naked like he owns the place and asks for his treasure. The Dragon King doesn't have any fancy treasure like the ocean dragon kings, but what he does have is a dead body! Hurray. It's the body of the king, and it has been miraculously preserved with a feature-preserving pearl. The King offers to let Pigsy take it with him to Sun Wukong who might wish to revive him as long as he carries it out. Pigsy wants to be paid for dragging the dead body with him, and when the King says he doesn't have any money, Pigsy leaves without the body. However the King throws the body in after Pigsy, and then disappears with his palace.
Pigsy freaks out when he feels the dead body in the well with him, and calls for Sun Wukong to get him out of there. Sun Wukong asks if he found the treasure and Pigsy explains that there isn't anything down here except a cheapskate dragon king and a dead body. Monkey explains that the dead body is the treasure in question and asks him to bring it up with him. Pigsy refuses because dead bodies are gross, and Monkey threatens to leave him in the well if he doesn't bring the body. With this ultimatum Pigsy dives back into the water to retrieve the water, and once he had the body, Monkey lowers his staff back into the well to bring Pigsy back up.
While Pigsy puts his clothes back on, Monkey observes the corpse, finding that it looks pretty good for a body that's been in a well for three years. Pigsy explains that the dragon preserved the body and Monkey orders Pigsy to carry it on his back so they can leave. Pigsy once again kicks up a huge fuss about the dead body ruining his clothes, and isn't mollified by Monkey's offer to trade clothes with him later- since Monkey's clothes would be several sizes to small on him and all. Seeing that trying to be nice failed, Monkey resorts to his tried and true tactic of just threatening to beat him up if he refuses.
This of course makes Pigsy comply, but it also puts him in a rather vengeful mood. While Monkey summons a wind to bring them back to the monastery, Pigsy plots his revenge by doing what he does best- manipulating Tripitaka into using the tight fillet spell on Monkey. He plans to do this by persuading Tripitaka to request the king be brought to life, and have him use the fillet spell if Monkey refuses. However the problem with that plan is, is that Monkey actually is perfectly capable of taking a casual stroll into the underworld and bashing a few heads in, in order to demand the kings soul. So Pigsy resolves to find a way to make it so Monkey can't go to the underworld, and instead find a way on earth to bring the king back to life.
So they enter the Monastery and Pigsy brings Tripitaka to take a look at the body they found. Tripitaka of course feels sorry for the dead king and cry's some tears for him. Pigsy meanwhile tells Tripitaka not to cry- after all, Sun Wukong says he can bring the king back to life! Tripitaka ask's if that's true and if he can really bring the king back to life, but Wukong denies it since the man has been dead for free years. Tripitaka is disappointed but willing to let it go, but Pigsy manages to convince him to use the tight fillet spell on Monkey in order to make him bring the king back to life.

Uhum, hi, I've seen some Wukong posts here and... Wukong is trans and asexual and a representation of the mind at the same time? or how is it? I'm a beginner in Journey To The West so sorry if this sounds ignorant, I don't want to disrespect something...
Hey no worries anon! It's honestly understandable that you would feel really confused about all the different kinds of Monkey King posting; there are a LOT of very different ways that this simian has been represented and understood throughout the centuries.
I think you could say that in his most basic of basic descriptions, Sun Wukong is a monkey born from a stone who acquires vast magical power through Taoist cultivation, and who is most well known for having accompanied the Buddhist monk Tang Sanzang on a journey from China to India in search of Buddhist scripture.
The thing is that he's one of the starring characters of the important Chinese classic Journey to the West, and this book is both a fun adventure story as well as a religious text about self cultivation, thus lending itself to many different interpretations. One of the most important and widely accepted of these is that Sun Wukong is metaphorically acting as the "monkey of the mind," which is a Buddhist term describing the unsettled, restless, and uncontrollable parts of ourselves that we must "tame" and "cultivate" in order to achieve Enlightenment.
Sun Wukong being described explicitly as asexual is something that I think started with the 1996 television series based on the book, but in the text of Journey to the West he shows 0 interest in sex and romance too.
The Monkey King as trans is (as far as I'm aware) also a pretty recent interpretation, but from what admittedly little I know it's one that's been increasingly adopted by the Chinese trans community for a number of reasons, one of the biggest being that Sun Wukong's story is largely one of fighting hard to genuinely be himself in every situation. @antidotefortheawkward knows a lot more about trans readings of the Monkey King than I do, so if you're interested I would definitely suggest giving his posts on this subject a look!
If you're interested in a very detailed overview of Sun Wukong and Journey to the West, you should definitely give Anthony C. Yu's translation of the text a look, or at least flip through the introduction! @journeytothewestresearch, besides providing a LOT of really good analysis and sources on many different aspects of this text, has also kindly provided links to free pdf copies of Yu's English translation. You can find them at the top of his blog here:
I hope that helps settle some of your confusion anon! I totally get that all the different interpretations and retellings out there can make trying to learn about Journey to the West and Sun Wukong seem overwhelming, especially when you're trying to be respectful. But I hope that you find these things to be a good start. Based on my own experiences, if you keep you mind open to new information then you'll be golden :)

SIXTHEAR || Liu'er Mihou from Mei Hou Wang (2009)
Long before the sacred journey to the west, Flower-Fruit Mountain was home to a clan of monkey yaoguai. It was here that the Celestial Primates, Xiao Shihou (who the world better knows as Sun Wukong) and Liu'er Mihou, were born and raised.
A prince in everything but name. The throne was rightfully his. One day, Liu'er would be wholeheartedly accepted into the troop and receive the recognition he deserved. Except that day never came. Xiao Shihou, his first and closest friend, was chosen over him to be the next Monkey King.
[ APP ] [ STATS ] [ TRACKER ] [ RULES ]
Liu'er is from a adaptation of the classic JTTW novel that follows the early adventures of the Monkey King! This Liu'er is his sworn brother— the first and closest friend he ever had.
Had his gradual descent into madness + accompanying villain arc. He's better now though, thanks to the power of FRIENDSHIP!
He's just a little guy! ...Ohhh he a little fucked up actually...
This Liu'er is a lot younger than most other adaptations! (The same applies to his wukong too!)
he's never been a city before. oh my god. help this monkey who's from ancient china pls...
like all monkeys he is a creature of cute and cheeky mischief at heart. he DOES genuinely want to just be a kid and have fun!!
you ever wondered what would happen if Princess Peach snapped? well...

Twilight being the Six Eared Macaque though would have some nice angst potential. In the OG alongside some versions of the story, the Six Ears was actually Sun Wukong's more malevolent during his Warlord.
Adventures From China: Monkey King had an interesting take where the Six Eared Macaque was more confused than evil. Like he came into existence with no idea what or who he really is. So instead of killing this darker side, Sun Wukong just remakes him into a baby monkey that would become Twilight. Giving Six Ears a chance to form his own path and identity.
And the himbo doesn't realize he isn't Hylian until some incident during childhood. Or Rusl and Uli just sees this strange monkey baby one night then deciding to take him in.
....Okay I've had three hours to think about this while I was in jail and like...what if..he becomes the Six Eared Macaque because of the twilight shard.
What if that's part of the changes he's forced to endure as the dark magic binds with him. Or at the very least what if it changes him into something similar to the Six Eared Macaque.
Maybe the Six Eared Macaque very much was more confused than evil and Sun managed to guide him onto a better path or tried and failed to do so during his journey? So later seeing his son being forcibly changed into something so similar he vows to make sure Twilight never has to go through what Macaque did?
My brain hurts a little but that's what came to mind.
