Aemond One-Eye rode Vhagar, and the peril posed by Queen Visenya’s mount could not be gainsaid
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In 110 AC, she bore him a second son, Aemond, who was said to be half the size of his elder brother, but twice as fierce.
By the time the stableboys finally arrived to pull apart the combatants, the prince was writhing on the ground, howling in pain, and Vhagar was roaring as well.
Even those who loved her best found Visenya stern, serious, and unforgiving; some said that she played with poisons and dabbled in dark sorceries.

Why a lot of sansa fans are simping for Aemond and claiming him a tragic character? Isn't hypocrisy when they pretend that Daenerys is not a tragic character and never has been a victim in her life ? while saying Aemond is a poor sad boi and the victim of luke when he literally attacked rhaenyra's children? Isn't sheer hypocrisy that they will claim everything Daenerys does in the book is a sign of madness and darkness while excusing Aemond's crimes and making a joke of them , laughing at Luke death , house strong and the riverlands genocide. Aemond is a tragic character when goes in his way burning everything, Daenerys is mad tyrant and a slaver when she goes on her way freeing slaves
I answer the question HERE. But I don’t mention Dany, so I will say here that yes it is hypocrisy.
And the hypocrisy points out/reveals the working misogyny against Dany, Rhaenyra, and Arya.
Because Aemond goes out and burns entire fields just to prove a point and rage, rapes a woman, kills an unarmed, fleeing child on dragonback, calls Rhaneyra misogynist terms several times....and Dany, who kills disgusting slavers who already nailed several children just to intimidate her, is the evil one?! Please.

I’ve never really seen anyone talking about this, but I noticed that one of the main reasons why I am team green is because team green feels like an actual team that is in this whole thing together.
Team Green feels connected, united, like a family.
Team Black on the other hand is… meh.
And let me explain why:
Rhaenyra being delusional and thinking that Daemon is actually in love with her when he literally just groomed her since she was a child because he has always been after her title and now wants to be her king consort. They have one of the most toxic, creepy and problematic relationships in the entire fucking show.
Then there is the very awkward and uncomfortable moment of Rhaenyra and Daemon having sex on Laena’s funeral, while Rhaenys, Corlys, Baela, Rhaena and Laenor are mourning the loss of their daughter, mother and sister. How fucking disrespectful is this. And then the fact that they have Laenor “killed” just so they can get married and have their own perfectly blonde targaryen babies.
And Rhaenyra lying about Jace, Luke and Joff to everyone in her very own “team”, trying to gaslight not only Corlys, and Rhaenys but also her own sons into thinking they are trueborn, when even Jace himself. as a child, starts asking questions.
Then there are obviously Rhaenys and Corlys, who for some fucking reason neglected their trueborn granddaughters in favor of some dark haired white bastards their daughter-in-law is trying to pass off as their son’s children. Rhaenys is trying sooo hard to please her misogynistic husband because he so desperately wants his name to go down in history. Then the disrespectful betrothal of Jace and Luke to Baela and Rhaena. Rhaenyra is literally robbing these poor girls of their rightful claim to Driftmark and usurping them. And now, with Luke being dead, Rhaena’s claim dies with him.
Baela and Rhaena losing their mother, and now their father suddenly remarries, and has two blonde boys. Rhaenys losing BOTH her children and then seeing her son-in-law and daughter-in-law getting married soon after that.
Everyone in team black is after their own ambitions. They lie to each other, they don’t trust each other, they suspect each other in different things, they cheat on each other (with each other) and lie about it, they give each other forced ultimatums, and yada yada. All their scenes feel forced, tense, awkward and uncomfortable. They look so miserable with each other.
Team Green in this sense is the exact opposite.
Although their dynamic is far from perfect, obviously, you cannot deny that they care about each other very very deeply.
Alicent loves all of her children, and even while acknowledging their flaws, she still loves them.
Aemond might’ve been a little envious of Aegon, but he would never turn his back on him. He would never betray his brother, be would never try to take his crown from him.
Aegon was far from being a perfect man and king, but, as we know, it was his love for his family, and the fear of them getting hurt that made him a more responsible person and a more protective father, husband and brother. Sure, he is a cheater, but at least he’s honest about it and doesn’t lie to his wife. He is not a hypocrite.
Criston is working for Alicent not for ambition or for self-gain, but because he genuinely loves her, whether it’s romantic or platonic, doesn’t matter.
Helaena would never betray her family, her brothers, her mother. They are all she has. She would never switch sides even if given an opportunity.
And even Otto, arguably one of the main villains of the whole show, still loves his family. Sure, he is ambitious, but he would never become Corlys level of ambitious.
Team Green feels like they are fighting against the enemy all together, they have the same goals, they feel united and you can feel their devotion to each other. Especially after blood and cheese, when they become closer than ever. They’re in this together and only if they stick to each other, they can make it. It feels genuine and honest. They don’t hide anything from each other, they always have their loved ones’ best interests at heart, they would never in a million years betray each other. Yes, they are all doomed from the start, but their dedication and love to each other is truly something else.

In the show, Rhaenyra is just as weak and self centred as Viserys is.
The fact that she repeats her father’s mistake, remarrying and producing legitimate children who would overshadow her chosen yet questionable heir, is so stupid.
Viserys desires another woman and male heirs, therefore he gives into the temptation of obtaining Alicent and having male children, without realising that by doing this he’s making it difficult for Rhaenyra, a girl, to keep the throne.
Rhaenyra desires her uncle above everything else, therefore she gives into the temptation of obtaining Daemon and having children with him, without realising that by doing this she’s making it difficult for Jacaerys, a bastard, to keep the throne.
The dance would have happened anyway, maybe it could be postponed for one generation had Otto not been so eager to chase the throne, but it would still happen.
And let’s be real: had Viserys not chosen Alicent, he’d pick another girl, like Laena, whose father would want the exact same thing Otto wanted: his blood on the throne. Corlys admits that’s what he’s after. Anyone would do the same thing. All the great houses are ambitious. The issue is that Viserys and Rhaenyra kept making stupid choices that made it easier for them to be undermined and then they cry about it.

Imagine that boyfriend that is always the hornier one in the relationship. Imagine him getting extremely aroused offended when he catches you touching yourself. Like, why would you do that??? 😭 You have him! His cock, his mouth, his fingers! Anything you want! All you have to do is say the word and he is ready to go 😢 Why would you deprive him of your wetness, your warmth, your pretty sounds? 🥺 Oh, the betrayal 😫 .........
Can he join you, pretty please? 🥹🙏🏻

Bowing her head in defeat, Queen Alicent surrendered the keys to the castle, and ordered her knights and men-at-arms to lay down their swords. "The city is yours, princess," she is reported to have said, "but you will not hold it long. The rats play when the cat is gone, but my son Aemond will return with fire and blood."
FIRE AND BLOOD by George R.R. Martin
That is insufficient. Aemond has been damaged, permanently, My King. "Good will" cannot make him whole. There is a debt to be paid. I shall have one of her son's eyes in return. He can choose which eye to keep, a privilege he did not grant my son.

I don't understand why people claim Al*s is going to be the only person the !Show Aemond ever cared about. Like we already know he's a dutiful son. He's also very protective towards Helaena (he literally shields his sister with his own body when Rhaenys ruins Aegon's coronation). In addition, Aemond's twisted relationship with Aegon is really interesting. I'd also say he's a father figure to Helaena's kids (judging from their reaction to Alicent, calling for her father Otto ❤️). Imo it will be such a pity if they reduce the realm of Aemond's feelings and emotions to just obsessing over his love interest.
Hello!
This will not happen, I am one hundred percent sure.
Alys stans says this because she wants to.
We have already seen Aemond in the first season: he takes care of his mother, Helaena, and children. I don't believe he will leave his family. Regarding Aegon, everything is complicated, Aemond demonstrates hostility (?) towards Aegon, there is no brotherly love between them (!). Relationship between Aegon and Aemond: "You may cuff him about as you wish at home, but in the world, we must defend our own" Sorry, but this is a fact. Perhaps everything will change in the second season? I really hope so.
Aemond doesn't abandon his family, not even in the book, I don't believe he did that, I think there's a lot left unsaid and unrevealed. Alicent said: "The city is yours, princess, but you won’t hold it for long. Rats play when the cat is away, but my son Aemond will return with fire and blood" Alicent knew her son better, and she knew that he would not leave her and Helaena. There must be a serious reason.
"Prince Aemond favored an immediate attack upon King’s Landing. None of the queen’s dragons were a match for Vhagar, he insisted"
I don’t like the character Alys, I’m not sure that I will have a different relationship with the show Alys. She looks a lot like Mysaria. I think Alys mur***ed all her children to preserve her youth - that's what you read between the lines.
I can’t support alysmond because I don’t believe in this ship, I don’t believe that there was love between them. Aemond destroyed House Strong, just as Aegon the Conqueror destroyed the family of Harren Hoar. alysmond is a crack ship, as if Harren had a daughter who, after her family was destroyed, fell in love with Aegon and had a child with him (If Helaena had fallen in love with Daemon). Maybe "stockholm sy***ome"? The whole story of alysmond is like a rumor - a rumor that Alys spread to establish his power in Harrenhal. Why didn't she save Aemond if she knew he was going to die and did she love him? Because from Alys’s side, Aemond’s death is an excellent revenge for the house Strong.
I think Alys will manipulate Aemond by threatening his family that she saw them die. I think there will be a deal between Alys and Aemond: he will spare her life, and she will look to the future for him.
I also don't believe Alys's child is Aemond's. You know, it’s very strange that she didn’t contact Aegon to make her son heir and marry him to Jaehaera. Alys called her son king, “kneel before your king,” but did not fight for his rights. Maybe because he is not Aemond's son? Maybe because she used this child, and when she realized that she had lost, she mur***ed him to preserve her youth? There are a lot of questions.
Aemond is a supporter of valyrian traditions “...strengthen the family. Keep our Valyrian blood pure” I don’t believe that after these words he voluntarily decided to conceive a child with Alys Rivers and be with her. Maybe Alys is a hidden Valyrian or Targaryen? (lmao)
It's funny that many of the TG (I'm not anti-TG) love alysmond ship, but condemn demira ship (I don't support daemira and tb) because of the large age difference between Daemon and Rhaenyra, although the age difference between Aemond and Alys is also very large, and this relationship can be called pe... too
Forgive me if you love alysmond and don't take my words if they hurt you, you can support any ship you want. You asked me and I answered you 🙏🏻
Thank you for your question. I hope you understand my English 🙏🏻

Why are team green stans always the first to talk about how Nyra didn't fight in the books? In the books Alicent was a grown ass women beefing with a child. In the books Criston was with Rhaenyra since she was seven and was such a creep even Alicent pointed it out. In the books Helena is not a dreamer. In the books Aemond is always making weird ass comments about female genitalia. In the books nobody cheered at Aegons coronation and were asking for Nyra. In the books Rhaenys is Rhaenyras number one supporter. The best is "fat Rhaenyra" What about fat Helena and Aegon? Both Helena and Aegon were said to be fuckin ugly but Rhaenyra was said to be beautiful before and after she gained her weight. Anywayssss

wait apparently people are saying that alicent and aemond and criston should've been punished after driftmark.
and i can understand why the antis think that alicent should be punished - anyone who dares to attack their qween (even if she suggested to have their freshly maimed child tortured) deserves death & hellfire , but aemond???? AEMOND??????? he claimed a dragon and got attacked. and criston was literally guarding alicent's chambers minding his own business.
if anyone deserve to get punished it's jace for bringing a FUCKING knife to the fight & trying to attack his uncle with a KNIFE because he insulted him. how is it ok to try and stab a person for insulting you?????? (telling the truth lol) and luke for taking someone's eye out.

I will never understand how people think Alys and Aemond's relationship was a love story just because she prevented him from killing a squire, he helped her getting down from Vhagar, kissed her and said to her "My Alys" and "My Lady" (in this case I've even seen some shippers arguing this is further proof they got married because why would he refer to her as "My Lady" unless he made her one by marrying her). The point is abusers often use endearing terms when referring to their victims, pretending they love them when the opposite is true.
We also don't know what Alys' thoughts and feelings about everything were yet they claim she loved him was proud to have his son. Do they really think she could've said NO to him? That he would've let her go if she wanted to? I don't think they even asked themselves this question, probably not.
Also, another crazy thing I've seen some Greens saying is that Alys saw Aemond's death in her visions, told him was going to die in the battle against Daemon and he accepted his fate, deciding to sacrifice himself to take Daemon out in order to save Alys, their son and his family from him.
You make great points, anon, esp the one that relationships with abusive partners don’t show themselves as obviously abusive. What you point out is related to love-bombing. Often people miss or misinterpret love bombing in the beginning of relationships or while dating when love bombing is really just that person trying to present a picture of affection and devotion rather than act those out. As a lure.
I also wrote about how Alys Rivers was a war prize/sex slave, the terms of her vulnerability, and why she wouldn’t be genuinely romantic HERE, HERE & HERE. And I do believe that Alys sent Aemond to his death. But I do not think Aemond just decided to give himself up. Why would Daemon hurt Alys or care about her when Daemon’s the one who actually waited at Harrenhal, cutting the godswoods tree in silent despair, waiting for Aemond to pop up for 14 days, the one who we, the reader, follow the perspective of for the last battle. He waited for Aemond, knowing that he was going to die:
Daemon Targaryen returned to the castle just long enough to break his fast with Lord Mooton. “This is the last that you will see of me,” he told his lordship.
AND
When he had gone, Maester Norren went to his lord to say, “Take the chain from my neck and bind my hands with it. You must needs deliver me to the queen. When I gave warning to a traitor and allowed her to escape, I became a traitor as well.” Lord Mooton refused. “Keep your chain,” his lordship said.  “We are all traitors here.”
AND
When the last of them was gone, Daemon Targaryen walked the cavernous halls of Harren’s seat alone, with no companion but his dragon. Each night at dusk he slashed the heart tree in the godswood to mark the passing of another day. Thirteen marks can be seen upon that weirwood still; old wounds, deep and dark, yet the lords who have ruled Harrenhal since Daemon’s day say they bleed afresh every spring.
We’re not in Aemond’s "perspective" or even just following his actions that are suggestive of a specific emotion; all of that battle followed more of Daemon’s actions down to the chains he doesn’t tie, Daemon’s feelings before and during the confrontation, even how he got there. And I’m speaking from a Doylist perspective here.
...And they’re are literally taking Daemon’s self-sacrifice narrative and making it Aemond’s and for no good reason nor good reading of the text. They literally have no goddamn imagination, just taking the narrative arc from Daemon’s story and making it Aemond’s....because they know Daemon is the star here, the focus, and the one we’re supposed to be feel for.
It’s not even cute how people deny this.
Some other things:
Even with it being suspect that we get all this when Daemon was alone and Aemond wasn't --Alys was with him, but would have interviewed her?--and the cuts in the tree possibly being just Harrenhal residents trying to gain some notoriety from Daemon's stay there, this alone still tells us the Daemon's legacy is more valued in Westeros than Aemond, more seen as heroic. Aemond is positioned as the enemy of Daemon, a threat. Daemon's pain rather than Aemond's pride--whether Daemon actually cut the tree or not--is the thing that's centered in this part of the narrative.
Alys really shines as a character when she is apart from Aemond and more words from her, while Rhaenyra could be argued to suffer apart from Daemon if only for how she herself has severed this connection with her paranoia brought on by blood purity and grief.
Aemond is boastful and fully expected to win/survive, Daemon fully expected to die but is determined anyway to kill Aemond without actually caring about his taunts. He persists in making things short so they can get on with the battle while Aemond wishes to intimidate and demean, flaunt. Aemond appears to be like Daemon's younger self before he went to the Stepstones and married (2nd time) and became a father specifically in his eagerness to prove himself a consummate warrior/fighter. (In the edits, below I note they are still different in what motivates them to be this way)
We remember how he expresses defeat with Mysaria turning Rhaenyra against him & Nettles.
Combining all these things, it is more than likely to me that Daemon dies for rhaenyra, and their kids' safety, while also trying to prove to her defiantly that he always worked towards her interests. Was never unfaithful or disloyal.
EDITS:
Also how Daemon is the one emotionally devoted to his family, yet we hear of Aemond being the protector of his family based on his love for them, some Green fans state.
(this link) It is possible that kinda similar to Dany and Khal Drogo, Alys grew some sort of affection for Aemond, but I'm loathed to see it as true love for him. He, however, might have "loved" her in his Aemond, nonhealthy way less because she wanted to hurt him and more because he wanted a sense of power that she made him feel through her attention and her maybe visions. they would have emotionally used each other, him emotionally using her more and her materially using him more. and frankly, that's deliciously ironic to me.
