I still find it funny that people call eleven a "deadbeat husband" and their marriage "toxic" but twelve is the "perfect husband" and their marriage "wedded bliss" all because of the few moments we'd seen between 11 and River were them being "toxic". yes of course! let's ignore how the minisodes show how that description isn't true and even how little moments in the episodes themselves – "what? that's it?" (why haven't you kissed me goodbye? are you being sly on purpose so I'd kiss you first?) and "they wouldn't bury my wife out here" and the music room is the heart of the home and it's not a ghost story, it's a love story – show 11 cared and put in the work and yes, they're going to have disagreements like the ones in TATM because duh who doesn't but it does not mean it is the entirety of their relationship but people have taken it and made it the entirety of their relationship.
If I hadn't already figured it out a long time ago, these 8 seconds alone of Kit glaring at Elora would have been a huuuuge awakening for me...!
There's just SO much going on here - it's pretty much a damn near perfect film-making cocktail of a sequence.
The lighting, the colour choices, the cinematography, the water, the editing, the music, the way the music kicks in, the backdrop, the breeze dancing through her hair, the tension, the insane level of effortless intensity washing over her face.
I mean, just look at this.....!!!
Then, the "Come with me" to Jade without altering her stare for a second. And then, I mean, just everything else that follows.
Ugh, it's just so, so good!
And because it really deserves to be enjoyed with sound, here's a full 45 seconds cut in all its glory:
i was reading a gendrya fanfic (what else huh) and actually read "arya watched gendry put his hand in his brown hair" and it really took me out, dear writer, that's joe dempsie's hair colour and not gendry's hair colour. you know gendry, one of a lot of baratheon's bastards, which are known to have blue eyes and hair black as coal. the damage that got and d&d did to the asoiaf community even if is something as minimum as this, will never end
