(Aka Dae-ho is regressing and Hyun Ju is taking care of him and gyeong-seok doesn’t know what’s happening and just wants to be with his GF)

im again very sorry for the wait u would think that bc im not at school i would be writing more but its acc the opposite 😔 anyway i started writing this on 26th of april so lets see how long it takes me to get it finished!! also this is written in the same au as a post i made a while ago where post game hyun ju, gyeong seok, dae ho, young mi, no eul and others who i prob forgot live together so yhyhyhhhh

Dae ho didn’t know when he started regressing. it’s just been a thing that’s there ever since he left the military. Maybe even before that, when he was a teenager. But nobody knew about it then. Because all the adults in his life sucked.

Not anymore. Because now he has Hyun ju. Currently, he was sitting in her bed in just an oversized t shirt (probably gyeong seoks) and shorts.

Gyeong seok had always found Dae ho a little questionable. The way his gaze lingered on na yeons toys for a little too long, the way he was sometimes a little more clingy than usual, and the way nobody else questioned it!

It was 9:30 pm and gyeong seok had just got home from work. young mi and no eul were on the couch and na yeon was in bed. She had brought home a cold from who knows where and had gotten everybody sick, apart from hyun ju.

Usually, gyeong seok would say hello to young mi and no eul, maybe sit with them, but right now, he was so tired and sick, all he wanted was to lie in his girlfriends arms and complain about his day. So he removed his coat and shoes and immediately made a beeline for his room.

When he opened the door, he was surprised to see the current situation - dae ho sitting on their bed and hyun ju sitting beside him, watching her phone while he watched a cartoon on the tv. This would happen sometimes if dae ho had had a nightmare, but it was like, 5pm.

That’s when he saw it. The pacifier.

Yup, Dae ho was a weird kid.

“Uh… babe..?” Gyeong seok called out. Hyun ju looked up at the door and smiled. “Hey, sweetie, how was your day?” Oh, so she was just acting as if everything was normal?! Gyeong seok trudged over to the bed and slumped down beside his girlfriend, his gaze not parting with dae ho. As odd as this whole situation was, dae ho was kind of adorable like this.

“It was… umm… what’s going on with him..?” As if on cue, dae ho looked up and smiled behind his pacifier. “Hi…” he spoke before letting out a giggle and hiding his face behind his stuffie. Gyeong seok also noticed the tight grip dae ho had on hyun jus hoodie sleeve, as if she was about to run away.

Hyun ju turned to look at him. “You remember that age regression thing i told you about?” Gyeong seok mentally slapped himself. Of course that was what this is, she had explained all this to him.

But that didn’t mean he… understood. “So he’s a child?”

“Well, not exactly. he’s in the mindset of a child.”

“So, a child.”

“No, he’s-“

Their bickering was cut off by a whine. Dae ho was holding his bottle, the last droplets of milk dripping down the sides of the hard plastic. “Oh, you want more milk, little one? There should be someone in the living room to do it for you. You wanna take it to them?”

Dae ho nodded enthusiastically and scrambled out of the bed, running towards the door and into the living room. Finally, some alone time. Just as Gyeong seok was about to rest his head on his girlfriend’s shoulder, she stood up. “God, he’s made such a mess with his toys, i need to clean up in here.”

He mentally screamed. His headache was intensifying, and now he didn’t even care about complaining. He just wanted to sleep. “Babe..?” His soft, tired voice called out to his girlfrieiend who was currently tidying a flurry of toys and stuffies scattered on the floor.

“Can i just… sleep, in my bed..? Y’know, i’m sick, and i’m exhausted, and i-”

“Yeah, of course, you don’t even have to ask. Dae ho can play on the floor.”

Gyeong seok almost actually screamed this time. Why wasn’t she getting it!!

”Yeah, but won’t he be loud? And besides, i kind of want just you-“

Just as he was about to finish his sentence, the regressed man ran in through the door again, a big smile on his face. He babbled something about “no eul” and “chocolate milk,” and something else which was mumbled behind his pacifier.

Hyun ju smiled at him.

“Did no eul get you a bottle? Im hoping you remembered to say please and thank you, kiddo. You can go sit on the bed, okay?”

She continued to clean up dae hos toys, as the mentally younger crawled into the bed beside gyeong seok. He probably had to speak to him, right?

“Hey, kid. That’s a cool tiger you’ve got there…”

Dae ho giggled and picked up his tiger stuffie, holding it in front of his mouth. “Mama go’ me it…”

Despite having it explained to him before, Gyeong seok was still very confused. Why was he doing this? Was he choosing to do it or did he actually believe he was a child?

No matter what it was, he didn’t really care. He just wanted his bed. And maybe hyun ju.

A tap on his shoulder snapped him out of his thoughts. Hyun ju had finished tidying, Gyeong seok barely noticing.

“Come to think of it, you do look tired. I think Dae hos got a lot of energy, do you want me to take him to his playroom so your alone?”

Gyeong seok looked up at her, giving the angriest look he could muster.

“Just send him in there by himself. He’s an adult. he’ll be fine right?”

He could tell that what he said had annoyed his girlfriend, by the slightly angry look he gave her. The look that just made him feel guilty, even though he didn’t feel like he’d done anything wrong.

“Dae ho, baby, we’re gonna go into your room for a while to give gyeong seok some peace. Is that-“

She was cut out by a loud whine and the thump of his bottle slamming against the bed.

“Come on, sweetie, please-“

Another whine. Another thump, although this one was a lot harder, hitting gyeong seok right in his thigh.

“Fuck- ow!! Dae ho, what was that for?!”

He snapped his head around to look the man in the eyes, but quickly realised his choice of words weren’t right for the regressed dae hos mindset as his bottom lip started to quiver.

“Oh- wait, i… uh…”

Wow, wasn’t he a clever one. Tears welled up in dae hos eyes and he whimpered before they started to spill.

“I- uh- shit…”

He looked at hyun ju, who had already taken to comforting him. “Hey, baby, can you look at mama?” Dae ho looked up at her, tears still falling.

Well, this was awkward. Looking into his desperate, glossy eyes made him feel something. He had just made a grown man cry, but was it the grown man who had chose to cry?

”Oh, baby, it’s okay, mamas here.” She pulled him into a tight hug, rubbing his back. Gyeong seok watched, wanting to disappear. He couldn’t tell her how much he wanted one of her hugs right now.

Hyun ju looked down at dae ho, whose cries had partially subsided.

“Hey, prince? Maybe mama should take you into your bedroom, i think-”

“No!!”

Gyeong seok hadn’t meant to lash out. He didn’t even mean to speak. He inhaled sharply, hoping that somehow, she would immediately understand and send Dae ho away. If only it was that simple.

Dae ho had long forgotten about the incident of a few minutes ago, and had now reverted to cuddling his stuffies in hyun jus arms.

“What do you mean, no? You want us to stay?”

“I want you to stay, not him….”

Hyun ju sighed. She can’t say she hadn’t expected this. For the first time today she finally showed her boyfriend some affection and held his face in her hands, immediately making him melt.

“Your not well, are you? Dae ho, can you go ask someone in the living room to get medicine?”

He groaned dramatically before sliding off hyun jus lap and stomping out the room, leaving gyeong seok and hyun ju alone. Finally.

Hyun ju lay down next to her boyfriend instead of sitting up, and held his hand.

“I’m guessing you don’t understand..?”

Gyeong seok looked away. “I know what it is… i just don’t..” he trailed off.

“Understand?” Hyun ju smiled at him, that smile that he loves, and rubbed her thumb on his knuckles. “He’s regressed. Mentally. around 2-3, probably. Hes sick as well, and hes too little to be alone. If I give him his iPad he might fall asleep, and then do you wanna cuddle and take a nap together?”

Gyeong seok nodded. His headache hadn’t subsided, but he was happy to be with his girlfriend. And maybe Dae ho.

Dae ho came back in with a bottle of pills and a glass of water, most likely given to him by no eul.

“Here go mama…” he mumbled as he handed them to hyun ju.

“Thank you, baby,” Hyun ju replied sitting up with a smile and a hair ruffle to dae ho. to which he giggled back and sat back down on the bed, beside the other two.

Gyeong seok sat up in bed to take the pills while hyun ju set up dae hos iPad, before dimming the light and pulling the blanket over all 3 of them.

Sure, this was odd. To gyeong seok at least. But the way he saw dae ho giggle whenever hyun ju spoke to him, the motherly look she gave to him, it made him happy.

He still didn’t fully understand the whole regression thing. But it didn’t look to bad.

Maybe he wanted to try it one day.

Ik i said i would have this out yesterday but i ended up having to go to work and then i was really sick today snd i also had no motivation like my writing genuinely looked ai generated. anyway if u have sent a request I HAVE SEEN IT I PROMISE i just idk why this took me A MONTH TO WRITE LIKE WTF anyway it’s here now its short, it’s bad but it’s here ❤️
