Having followers on Tumblr is like a totally different thing from other social media websites Like, for example, i have around 1500 followers, but i still have a lot of posts that have 0 notes This is not me complaining by the way, but it's just interesting how different it is For example, someone with only 10 followers can post something here that can blow up easily BUT it never feels as unfair compared to algorythmic driven social media websites like Twitter for example Because on Twitter it always feels "random" when a tweet blows up, you are at the mercy of the algorythm But on Tumblr, there is no such curse, it is completely non-random (aside from Blaze but we all use extensions to remove those lmao) I like it more here on Tumblr, because i often feel a lot less jelous or guilty here when a post i "really want to blow up" (for example when i post new music and art) doesn't blow up, because unlike algorythmic websites, you can at least understand the system behind it, rather than agonising over why you were not "blessed" by the randomness The algorythm giveth, the algorythm taketh, it is not a god that deserves our worship
