UA is just a breeding ground for abuse - if you have a teacher who doesn't like you, it's very easy for them to intentionally get you hurt or single you out given how free the teachers are in their curriculum.

Nezu tries to get All Might to guest lecture here but he refuses point blank and 'accidentally' lets slip that, because he was a late bloomer, even he was knocked back from UA without 2 different pro heroes recommending him.

Was thinking a bit about how “The Devil’s Playhouse” has a lot more comedy than people make it out to be, and while especially thinking about “The Penal Zone” I realized this episode is actually very very very very gay. Like, I’m pretty sure it’s the Telltale episode with the highest amount of gay moments (205 is second on this list, what with Sam getting catcalled by a moleman, Max flirting with Mr. Reaperphone, the whole bachelor party, Peppers etc).

I think what I really like about those moments is that it’s a great example of normalization. The characters are incredibly casual about it, talking about gay relationships the exact same way one would talk about straight relationships, it’s really neat to see! Especially considering that this game was made in 2010, a whooping 5 years before gay marriage was legal in the whole US. It's crazy and great how much they were able to get away with!

Unrelated but I'm tired of hearing about Rogue One's apparently tortured/chaotic/piecemeal development process. It's certainly not a perfect movie, I could (and would if someone sent me an intriguing enough ask) write the essay on what I personally think its strengths and weaknesses are, but 9.9 times out of 10 I'm just hearing people gesture vaguely at this as evidence that it's bad while failing to say anything about the film itself. Sure it has its flaws, but as a viewer I give precisely zero fucks about how chaotic the production was or wasn't. I'm judging based on the quality of what was ultimately put onscreen!

Listen. I know I’m like a dog with a bone here. Y’all are tired of hearing me talk about this. But if Between Us wants to skip all the plot-relevant DeanPharm scenes and relegate them to crumbs status, then they shouldn’t have shown the first meeting and InKorn flashbacks in Between Us. The show runners and editors have an obligation to make a coherent story even for the people who are watching Between Us with fresh eyes, and that is simply not happening right now. They either needed to lean in harder on the soulmates storyline or they needed to leave it out entirely. This unsatisfying in-between is driving me crazy. I want to enjoy Between Us but every episode feels like a missed opportunity to connect some dots and I feel like I’m the only person desperately waving a pencil around, begging for it to happen.
