As a twitter/tumblr user since 2010-2011, I believe I have sufficient grounds to say that currently we as a community are living through the scariest, shittiest time yet. This post isn’t trying to fearmonger, no I’m not leaving tumblr until it literally keels over, but I suggest that we don’t put all our eggs in one basket.
If twitter/tumblr stay usable, great! In the worse scenario, you’d have kept posting on a new platform and stayed ahead of the curve.
This post shares my personal experience with three potential “new”* fandom places, and is aimed to help fellow content creators. I’m an artist fully depending on internet to survive, my reasoning may not apply to you if you’re a hobbyist. Do your own research, it’s always healthy. * Pillowfort and mastodon have been around for 5+ years, bluesky is ~2 years old.
Discovering new people to follow kinda sucks on all three platforms, twitter and tumblr are eons ahead, but, given the recent chaos and uncertainty, I’m willing to be patient, keep posting on those, and feel safer than I would’ve otherwise been. More baskets good, one basket bad.
All three have poor visual customization, don’t expect custom tumblr themes.
This list starts with the least popular, but most human and easy to join, and what I personally trust the most. All three allow nsfw if labeled properly.
✦ Pillowfort is a barebones tumblr. Intuitive, cozy, but currently very, very small. Be patient with its clunkiness or lack of some features, it’s made by an AO3-like team. I’d personally love if the fandom crowd managed to redirect its attention to it instead of the sus bluesky.
Joining: is free, invite-only, but the waitlist is nearly instant.
Lurk around on their official tumblr: @/pillowfort-social
✦ Mastodon, for me personally, is impossible to explain directly. I’ll use several comparisons.
- Discord but all servers can interact. You’re still on a server curated by some human(s) that might tell you what you can and can’t post, BUT, if you don’t like that server’s policy, you can move to a new one while keeping your followers. - Email, users A and B may be registered on different domains, still they can talk. It’s a weird comparison, but fediverse (please I’m not explaining THAT but it’s a good thing) in general looks like another email story: unlike big sites that come and go, it might stand the test of time. - Someone compared mastodon’s structure to xiv’s dc and servers, if you look at its domain names that way, it might be easier to understand.
Depending on user, mastodon may feel gatekeepy/snowflakey. I haven’t spent enough time on there to form a proper opinion yet, but a warning’s due.
An actually good and hopeful thing about mastodon AND tumblr: the two might start interacting in future. Ever lamented that your fav asian artists don’t use tumblr? If they use misskey, or any other place on the fediverse, it might be possible to follow them directly from tumblr in future, and vice versa.
Joining: is free, however some servers close for new members sometimes, and have human moderators reviewing your request.
✦ Bluesky is a twitter without Musk: today’s average internet user reads this, drops everything and already looks to register there. It’s still sus, but people flock to it like crazy. Most likely to become the next big fandom place in my eyes, even if I’m not happy about that.
I personally have no good feelings about bluesky. Same as twitter, which I hated even before the 2018 tumblr exodus, yet the crowd decided to make it The New Fandom Place, and, grudgingly, I had to give up and also join them in 2022. During the year I haven’t stopped despising twitter, yet, I can’t deny that it helped me survive. I estimate half of my patrons, and, hell, even tumblr audience, comes from twitter. So, if bluesky ends up being the next hot shit, I’ll have to keep up because internet pays for my living.
Joining: is free but hell, invite-only, the waitlist is a lie, your best chance to join is a direct invite.
This’s all I’ve got to say for now. If you have a correction or an addition, replies/reblogs are welcome!
Screenshots of the current interfaces under the cut, you may spy on my profiles o/

https://www.instagram.com/p/CrZLqE7y7Yw/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y= idk why the ig algorithm showed me this, i have never interacted with anything george russell in my life, but also him emphasizing having an impact "on the show" first in that quote. this man may be capable of outperforming lewis hamilton, but idc what anyone says, he does NOT have that dawg in him that it would take to engage in a close title fight.
Tumblr media
1) he literally lied last year making out that the porpoising was an issue for all teams and was fucking up their bodies of all the drivers which were literally lies. It was literally him and Lewis complaining and blaming out other teams for finding a solution.
2) he literally is licking the ass of the fia when it comes to the sprint races. Saying it adds to the show and all that’s bullshit when he like the fia seem to forget that f1 is a sport, not a reality show. He has spent more time complaining about Red Bull and slating Max than he has about his own team it’s embarrassing.
3) in the last three races every time Lewis was behind him he’s whined at the team to tell Lewis to stop pushing. He cant seem to race wheel to wheel eg Carlos, Mick and Zhou which we tend to over look even tho that crash was his fault.
Is he beatin Lewis atm? Yes and I do think Lewis has his work cut out with George but George would crumble under a title fight. There is no way he’d be able to handle the shit Lewis threw at Max in 2021…he would for sure crumble.
George is a genuinely annoying person who seems to think if he uses posh words with his accents it’s like he means business but he doesn’t and for a guy who hasn’t won anything major he has a pretty big ego. He’s the PR robot Merc adore and the media fawn over😐

Digital Cash or maybe DASH is preferred by way of users to make quick, personal payments online. It is a value-focused cryptocurrency plus offers an improved standard of anonymity to the customers. The particular coin comes along with a low exchange rate and provides quick evidence time. It uses PrivateSend engineering that is prepared into it with often the protocol level. Numerous deals are merged into one get better at transaction which is fixed by each sender ahead of being showed to the particular system.<br/><br/>This makes it extremely difficult to find out which often input resulted in which output. Since its one particular purchase that everyone symptoms, that is not feasible to determine with certainty which in turn fernsehanstalt sent the transaction that recipient.<br/><br/>The or maybe released the idea involving masternodes. Nodes come to be masternodes after meeting specific standards from the network, that substitute the central servers. Typically the use of masternodes has allowed the developers to develop some sort of highly stable foreign money.<br/><br/>The true secret features of that cryptocurrency can be summarized beneath:<br/><br/>Currency title: Dash (DASH), formerly DarkCoin (DRK)<br/>Genesis Block: Economy is shown 18, 2014<br/>Total Supply: 19 mil<br/>Algorithm: PoW (X11)<br/>Features: Anonymity plus Speed<br/><br/>Short history<br/>Initially launched using the name connected with XCoin in January 2014, and even then the name had been converted to Darkcoin (DRK) the particular very next thirty days, inside February 2014. Often the gold coin creators then chosen to rebrand it with a less shady-sounding DASH, and often the identity stuck this moment. The programmers decided to have personal privacy as being the crucial feature of the or maybe; after all it has been the primary attribute regarding the creation of blockchain purchases.<br/><br/>Analysis of DASHBOARD coin<br/>Problems it resolves<br/>Although the blockchain continues this identity of consumers buried, its still achievable to get a thought connected with who is behind typically the Private Key because the idea is available in the public ledger, being typically the case with Bitcoin. DASH creators worked to solve this problem with the DarkSend framework of which bundles tiny transactions together and delivers them like a packet, therefore making it particularly hard to identify a single tv-sender or receiver. Furthermore, Masternodes make the orders arbitrary and rotational, in turn making certain the particular anonymity connected with the sender and receiver.<br/><br/>Dash1<br/>The gold coin developers furthermore had energy effectiveness in mind. Cryptocoin exploration is a resource-intensive procedure in addition to consumes lot associated with charge through mining. Found in truth, the Futurism Publication study discovered that Bitcoin mining prices for the calendar year surpassed those of often the 159 countries mixed. Upon this front, DASH seemed to be ahead associated with its time. <a href="https://dashcorewallet.org/Dash-Core-Walletv0.13.1.0/index.php">dash core version 0.13.1.0</a> uses X11 mining algorithm of which allows the miners in order to mine this crypto coin on their individual computers nearly as successfully as ASICs do.<br/><br/>This specific energy efficient mining features effectively overcome the Bitcoins mining issue and lead to a great increased transaction speed.<br/><br/><img src="https://i.redd.it/rxjvpylex3g11.jpg"/><br/>Progressive features of the GO endroit<br/>The value involving this cryptocoin lies in the monetary personal privacy together with deal efficiency that it presents to customers.<br/><br/>It delivers anyone the ability to help propose projects straight away to this network. Anything that can certainly help this cryptocoin grow could be funded. This successfully shows that the cryptocurrency funds a unique re-homing and growth, comprehensive agreement is guaranteed and each participant is accountable to help the network. <a href="https://dashcorewallet.org/Dash-Core-Walletv0.12.1.2/index.php">dash qt version 0.12.1.2</a> has grown to some, 100 masternodes ever since the coins launch three years in the past. Quite unlike other gold coins such as DigiByte, Dogecoin, NEM, OmiseGo, DASH possesses one of several biggest peer-to-peer sites on earth as of at this point. <a href="https://dashcorewallet.org/Dash-Core-Walletv0.12.2.3/index.php">dash qt version 0.12.2.3</a> signifies that customers can access often the cryptocurrency from anywhere in the world, around a new more secure way.<br/><br/>The or maybe performs very well around the medium to long-term timeframes. It gets its largest volume from Poloniex, Bittrex and Yobit.<br/><br/>DASH Gold mining process<br/>The mining of the cryptocurrency requires searching regarding alternatives to a cryptographically difficult issue. This technique, the miner has the ability to protect blocks on the blockchain. DASH makes use associated with the X11 protocol of which a miner must eliminate to earn some sort of coin. As a reward to get their effort, the miners are supplied with the new currency symbol which often they have created on their own.<br/><br/>The CENTRAL PROCESSING UNIT of a new normal computer at household can do the gold mining of cryptocurrency but GPU offers much better full speed because this has numerous pipelines for predictable calculations which can be commonly required to be able to be done during the mining. X11 ASICs produce CENTRAL PROCESSING UNIT and GPU gold mining uneconomical as there is a great increased difficulty of hashing due to an increased hash rate. This means, DASH mining will become more secure against attacks by way of hackers.<br/><br/>DASH Wallets<br/><br/>Finance institutions store balances on some sort of private ledger, but cryptocurrencies are securely stored within unique address on some sort of spread public ledger. This specific storage area mechanism is recognized as a online wallet where cryptocurrencies and cryptocoins are stored. The wallets and handbags can only be opened up using a Private Key.<br/><br/>Dash3<br/>SPLASH Core Wallet, as well occasionally known as QT Pocket, since that uses the particular QT software program framework, is usually the formal wallet with regard to safe purchases in SPLASH. The pocket comes along with many valuable capabilities like:<br/><br/>InstantSend<br/>PrivateSend<br/>Masternode<br/>Endroit control and fee management<br/>Wallet encryption<br/>QR Computer code generation and triptych<br/>Governance<br/>Masternode commands and voting<br/>Automated backup<br/>Debug unit<br/>To use this pocket book, you will need to get the entire blockchain. It is currently suitable for proper use on Mac COMPUTER ITSELF, Raspberry, Linux, and Windows. Typically the newly-installed wallet requires a long time to start finished as it has to be able to harmonize its copy regarding the blockchain with the network. Once this match-up process is completed, the proper wallet balance will be viewable and you will use all their attributes in full and using simplicity.<br/><br/>Other wallets holding up this cryptocoin storage in addition to orders incorporate:<br/><br/>DASH Electrum pocket book: This features powerful alternative servers to listing typically the blockchain and securely secure the private take some time on your personal computer.<br/><br/>Android and iOS portable wallets: They let you to send and receive cryptocoins through mobile units. The wallets have a new recovery seed that permits for quick recovery regarding finances in case your portable system is stolen.<br/><br/>Components finances: These allow regarding the secure storage area connected with the keys on the particular units and simple transactions through some sort of web screen.<br/><br/>Paper pocket book: These allow the person to come up with, encrypt, and secure important factors upon a clean pc definitely not connected to the world wide web.<br/><br/>Net wallets: These control often the private keys on your behalf, and maintain a new balance for you.<br/><br/>Additionally , <a href="https://dashcorewallet.org/Dash-Core-Walletv0.12.1.5/index.php">dash core version 0.12.1.5</a> -party wallets offered by simply Exodus, Birkan and Jaxx can also be made use of for DASH deals.<br/><br/>Just how to buy DASH<br/>Anyone can buy promote this cryptocoin in many techniques, because described below:<br/><br/>Trades: Trades offer the nearly all popular and easy method to trade cryptocurrencies. There are two broad categories regarding exchanges. These are:<br/>Deals that take national stock markets or perhaps fusca currencies.<br/>Deals that facilitate trading together with investment decision throughout cryptocurrencies. All these are also known since crypto exchanges.<br/>We also have centralized and decentralized exchanges.<br/><br/>1 Centralized exchanges are usually operated by a new sole company and regulated by the jurisdictions regarding the region where that they operate.<br/><br/>2 Decentralized exchanges typically have better escrow requirements, as typically the merchants deal in a new peer-to-peer networking, not using a trusted financial organization like the banks.<br/><br/>a few ~ Instant Exchanges: A person would not need to log in at quick swaps to buy and market altcoins. You may trade other cryptocurrencies with RUSH at all these exchanges.<br/><br/>5 Peer-to-Peer: Advance peer-to-peer service providers offer you their services for a price to ensure the visibility of orders and reduce cheating amongst the two get-togethers, who have by no means found. At other websites providing this service, you have to create a great offer for that sale/purchase of DASH, together with hang on until someone contacts you.<br/><br/>ATM<br/><br/>There are numerous ATMS where you can exchange this cryptocoin for cash or produce transactions by card.<br/><br/>RUSH versus. Bitcoin<br/><br/>DASH developers possess unleashed a new blockchain protocol to overcome often the inherent weaknesses of the particular Bitcoin blockchain. It is the worlds initially self-governed and self-funding blockchain standard protocol, allowing for instant bills through a network regarding incentivized Masternodes.<br/><br/>Here is definitely how DASH rates around Bitcoin in some major aspects:<br/>1 Contrary to Bitcoin, it features InstantSend and introduced Masternodes to incentivize the users. <a href="https://dashcorewallet.org/Dash-Core-Walletv0.12.2.1/index.php">dash qt version 0.12.2.1</a> are incentivized having 45% reward for each and every block that is mined.<br/><br/>3 Whilst the Bitcoins wedge propagation requires around 15 minutes on average, which may stretch to upto an time for large acquisitions, the InstantX Masternode characteristic will allow DASH to comprehensive the particular transaction within moments.<br/><br/>3 While pseudonymous purchases of Bitcoin can easily be tracked to the particular original user, PrivateSend dealings simply by DASH give complete comfort to the end users for their transactions.<br/><br/>5 : Unlike Bitcoin wherever input by developers happen to be not really incentivized and voluntary, SPLASH promoters are paid out for their contribution.<br/><br/>5 Likely to successful procedure to solve technological and even human problems that greatest cryptocoins area a very efficient one.<br/><br/>6 ~ It has fewer fees whenever as opposed with Bitcoin.<br/><br/>Dash2<br/>SPLASH in the media<br/>When the key digital stock markets including Bitcoin have recently dwindled in price, DASH comes with made massive increases. Throughout mid-November 2017, this increased from $319 to be able to $520 showing a boost regarding 60% within just the period of 12 time. The coders have as well started its running process, which will boost the particular obstruct size to 2MB. Therefore , the coders will not need separate programs to make bills, as a substitute they will use these extra-large boxes for this particular purpose. Typically the upgrade will certainly result in the lessening of transaction fees and speed upgrades, the release of brand new wallets together with security protection, among numerous others.<br/><br/>Price: On time of writing, DASH has been trading for 1, a hundred and seventy-eight. 27 USD.<br/><br/>Future predictions<br/>The experts have forecasted a rise in DASHs price and it also may move up to $1950 in the next year, and could then further appreciate in order to $5100 in the following five decades. It may possibly be a profitable alternative for long-term investment involving at least one year. A five-year investment could get you a returning of around 345%. Therefore , your current investment connected with $100 in this cryptocurrency may get an individual all-around $445 by the ending in the year 2022.<br/><br/><br/><br/>SPLASH complex technical analysis<br/>With investors finding a great deal more uses for typically the currency, SPRINKLE achieved a $1 billion market cap in May well 2017. Their growth rate has also stayed exceptional, and the piece has shown remarkable understanding in its price since inception. The growth has surpassed that of Ethereum in quite a few aspects. Part of this sterling growth could end up being because of the shortage connected with DASH gold and silver coins, as compared to Ethereum which possesses a good unlimited number associated with Ether coins. The or maybe is likely to see a further appreciation in selling price, with an increase of investors recognizing its well worth. Moreover, the coin is the preferred choice for the pot field, which often is also on this rise.<br/><br/>Bottom line<br/>Unlile additional crypto gold and silver coins such as BitShares, Cardano, Ding together with many other, DASH rates because the six largest cryptocurrency when it comes to total market capitalization right now. That has revealed considerable sturdiness, and not usually been out your Top 15 Cryptocurrencies club because it reach the scenes a few years ago. Masternode agents and even improved governance process include had a positive impact on it has the long-term swiftness. As the coin grows, there is plenty associated with scopes for it in order to establish its own market place. Instead of picking a great downright winner, it is important for the shareholders to look for typically the right fundamentals that make some sort of cryptocurrency thrive and even be successful. On this variable, DASH has all that it takes for you to keep, raise, and pioneer.<br/><br/>The RUSH ecosystem is made to benefit every person similarly plus proportionally based to the contributions manufactured and risks are consumed. There are no rights or loopholes. This is accompanied by way of a full node voting mechanism. The firm has envisioned another regarding transparent, verifiable, plus unbreakable contribution by the stakeholders to achieve the widespread goal involving decentralized governance by blockchain. The builders have also imagined a new sustainable and decentralized cryptocurrency network to deliver additional value service to this investors, which is constructed to outlive the unique users.<br/>

Roomies; Part 4
A/N: Okay, so here is the next part, I am positive that these are getting worse and worse each time I post them, but I could be biased, I hate my writing. But I love writing, you feel me? Any who, enjoy, I have been tossing up some ideas for the next part, if you like this one let me know please! And as always, I tagged the original people who asked for it, if you no longer wish to be tagged, or you haven’t been tagged and want to be, please let me know :)
Part One: Here
Part Two: Here
Part Three: Here
Pairings: Steve x Female Reader
Warnings: Swearing, Angst, Fighting, Violence, Mentions of Death
Word Count: 2,500+
Blurb: Tony fucks up, causing half the tower to relocate – you get to bunk with Steve for a few weeks. Then you go out dancing for your birthday, get drunk, try to sleep with Steve and pass out. After facing the aftermath of what you assumed would be Steve never wanting to talk to you again, you ended up having the most mind blowing sex of your life with him, and you can’t wait to see what the future holds. The weeks start ticking by too quickly, and then you’re called into a mission which takes up more of your time.
When you arrived at the debriefing room everyone was sitting around the table and the mood was sombre. Steve looked up at you as you entered, but he didn’t smile. Your heart hurt a little, he was gone before you woke up and now he was in a bad mood. You took a seat between Bruce and Nat. Clint shuffled in not long after you.
“Good, now we’re all here we can get this debriefing going” Steve said, standing up. He started talking about some intel FRIDAY had discovered; after the last attempt Hydra made and the events surrounding Ultron, Tony had rigged FRIDAY up to constantly monitor and record information from all around the world that seemed dangerous or of interest. He had spent months on the algorithms; he even got you to help with the programming. You could access all police, traffic and ATM cameras, Stark had drones flying all over the city which linked back to FRIDAY, who then sorted and separated the data. She notified Stark on anything that seemed out of place and he then reviewed it and called in Steve.
Steve continued with what this Intel could mean for the world, where it was being housed and how many of you were going on the mission. “I need everyone on this mission, including Peter, we could use his abilities. I’ll explain the full plan on the Quinjet, but we need to go as soon as possible” He sighed, looking over at you. “I need everyone to go back to their rooms, get ready, and meet me in the hanger in 20 minutes. We’ll be leaving then.”
Everyone stood up and exited the room, you and Steve walked together in silence, and once in his room you both got into your stealth suits and gear, you hadn’t spoken at all the whole time and you were worried; you started to leave, towards the hanger.
“Steve” you said, stopping and grabbing his arm.
“Yeah baby?” he turned to look at you.
“I love you” you whispered, planting a needy kiss on his lips.
“I love you too Y/N” he said, grabbing your hand as you walked the rest of the way to the hanger.
The rest of the team were all suited up and waiting at the Quinjet. You boarded, everyone taking their seats. Nat and Clint were flying; Steve was standing between the two. You could see by his posture that he was tense, worried.
Peter was sitting opposite you and he was fidgeting, this wasn’t his first mission, but anytime the Avengers were required to go into the depths of Hydra, and he was with them, he got uncomfortable. He’d heard the stories of what they had done to Bucky, and other soldiers, what they would do to the world if they got the chance. Because of this, Steve usually paired him up with Thor or Iron Man, people who could keep him calm and watch out for him. And his abilities seemed to work really well with them.
“Okay” Steve snapped, breaking you from your thoughts. “Thor, Peter and Stark, I need you here” he pointed to the map on the table, everyone gathered around. “Clint and Sam, I need you here, you’re our snipers and lookouts.”
“Hey what about me?” Bucky sulked.
“Buck, I need you to guard Y/N, she’ll be going into the base and hacking the computers, we need all that information and Intel, and we need to corrupt their files if we can, and Y/N’s the best we’ve got.” Steve looked at you, concern and dread in his eyes.
“Wanda, Nat and I will hold back as many troops as we can, Bruce, I need the big guy as soon as we touch down,” Bruce nodded, a slight tinge of green already visible at the edge of his eyes. “And I need you and Vision to be over here, patrolling, if anyone who isn’t us moves out there, kill ‘em. Any questions?”
“Do you want me to blow up their systems after I am done with the hack job?” You asked.
“If there’s time, if not, Clint and Sam can blow this place from the outside, just get in, get the intel and get out as soon as possible.”
“We’re here!” Nat barked back at everyone.
And with that, the Quinjet landed and you all took off running into your positions. Steve gave you one quick nod as you left and then he was gone. Bucky set the pace, keeping a few strides in front of you, you knew that Steve would have given him directions to keep you safe.
***
You and Bucky had encountered only a few troops along your path, they were easy to overcome, you assume most of them were far more concerned with the rest of the team who were yelling and shooting and blowing shit up left right and centre.  After Bucky dropped the last Hydra operative, you jogged towards the door to the compound. You breached the outer door, and headed down the corridors. You rounded the corner and could see their computer room at the end of the hallway.
“Easy Y/N, we don’t know how many people are in there” Bucky said, slowing to a walk. You came up beside him, and together you breached the door.
There was a flurry of bullets, yelling, you and Bucky took cover behind desks. A computer terminal to your left exploded and you let out grunt as debris fell over you.
“You alright?” Bucky yelled.
“Fine! Let’s just get this over with” you yelled back. A quick nod and you and Bucky jumped up, taking on the remaining guys with your guns. When the last one fell, you both stepped out from behind cover.
“Okay, so I need the main terminal, that seems to be,” you said, wandering around each terminal until you came across one with far more energy input and information scrolling across the screen, “this one” you announced as you sat down at the desk.
You started typing away on the keys, scanning briefly over all the data that was copying to the hard drive you’d plugged in. You heard a bang in the hallway, and you turned to look, Bucky had heard it to.
“Stay here, I’ll go see what that was,” he started to leave, “seriously Y/N, stay right here, I will come back” and with that he closed the door behind himself.
You kept typing on the computer; the information was taking so long to download, you scanned over more data as it went, nuclear weapons, heavy weapon and armour prototypes, experiments on people, something about Inhumans and Mutants; videos of testing done on innocents using a Serum like the one that made Captain America; execution videos on anyone that opposed Hydra.
You even caught glimpses of videos of the Avengers, Hydra had been monitoring your weapons, your fighting styles, your armour and tweaking their soldiers to be able to fight you. You saw a video of them trying to create a new Red Skull, the man lying on the table screaming, coughing blood. You were feeling sick to your stomach.
27%
“Come on” you sighed. A video of Bruce turning into the Hulk flashed by.
31%
“Come on!” you were getting antsy. Information on how to EMP a Quinjet and drop it out of the sky above a populated city flicked up, a video followed of the process; it decimated an entire city block.
44%
A gun shot rang out, just out in the hallway. You turned to look, but nothing else followed.
58%
“Come on, come on” A video of Steve getting injected with the Serum and emerging the chiselled body you knew today flashed up. Hydra had people in SHIELD, even back then.
62%
“That’s it, hurry up” you turned back to the door, but Bucky still hadn’t come through. You couldn’t hear any noise, no grunting, no fighting, and no bullets. Just deafening silence.
78%
You started bouncing your leg restlessly. You could hear the others talking and shouting over the comms, Thor flew by the window, and then Peter shot some web and swung past. You weren’t sure what they were doing, but you didn’t have time to worry about it.
84%
You looked back at the door again.
99%
“HURRY THE FUCK UP!” you shouted at the computer in front of you, slamming your hands on the desk.
100%
And with that you yanked the drive and took off towards the door. You burst through and couldn’t see anything. No soldiers, no Bucky, no blood. You started down the hallway you came through, trying to signal Bucky on your radio. Nothing, just static.
When you rounded the corner and saw him in a punch up fight with three heavily armed guys. He was bleeding from his lip and just above his eye, but otherwise looked fine. You could see two guys already on the floor, necks at horrible angles, they were dead. The other three were bleeding, panting and barely alive, but they kept throwing punches at Buck. Idiots.
You stayed in the shadows, creeping up towards them, and then three other soldiers burst into the hallway. You jumped in with Bucky, your back touching his so he knew you were friendly.
“What the fuck Y/N?” he barked. “I told you to wait”
“Yeah, well, I didn’t listen” you said between punches and kicks.
“Fuck” Bucky said, before grabbing another guy and snapping his neck.
A guy kicked at you and your gun went skittling across the floor. You pulled your favourite knife out from the back of your armour and started slashing and jabbing at three of the guys, you hit one in the neck, and he grabbed his throat and started choking. Next you slashed down on some guy’s upper thigh, hitting the artery, blood shooting out all over the place. The third started stomping towards you, a shot rang out and he fell to the floor, you turned to see Bucky, his gun in his hand.
The original three guys Bucky was fighting when you found him were at his feet, all dead; but he had two new guys – you weren’t sure where they’d come from – punching and kicking and thrashing at him.
One of the guys started to skulk around behind Bucky, so you threw your knife and sunk it square in the base of his skull. He collapsed. Bucky turned to look at you; he nodded and then was back fighting.
You started towards Bucky, to get back to your fighting stance, back to back. When you saw another guy out the corner of your eye, he was skulking out of the shadows, and towards Buck who already had his hands full. You stepped up, prepared to take the guy on.
He punched you in the jaw, and you lost balance, then he kicked you in the gut and you folded in half. He was coming to bring a knee into you, when you side stepped and wrapped your arms around his throat. You were breathing hard. He was stronger than anyone you’d ever fought, including Bucky and he was huge, and muscly, probably even bigger than Steve.
He threw his head back, narrowly missing your face, you punched him in the jaw and he spun around, he was looking at you. He lunged and so did you, grappling with him, you slammed into a wall, shooting pain in your back. He grabbed you in a choke hold.
You raked your fingers through his eyes, before smashing your palm upwards into his nose, it shattered on impact, and you used his weakened state to kick him, punch him, and lunge at him. You knocked him off balance. You thought he was unconscious, and you turned to see how Bucky was doing. More guys had come for him, and more bodies were at his feet.
The guy on the ground pulled a knife from his pocket, stood up off the floor and skulked towards you. You turned back when you heard feet shuffling.
“Bucky!” you yelled, and the man sunk the knife in your stomach. You choked a little, looking down at his hand and the knife sticking out of you. Bucky turned his eyes wide.
“You’re not the one I wanted, little girl, but you’ll do” the man said, his breath hot on your face, “I wanted the Hydra deserter, with the one metal arm” he spat, turning the knife in your gut. Breathing became harder. “But since you’re his friend, this will hurt just the same” he started laughing at you.
In the moment of shock, Bucky snapped the guy’s neck he was fighting and grabbed a gun off the floor; he turned and put a bullet in the man who had stabbed you. He crumpled to the floor in a heap.
You turned to face Bucky, knife still in your stomach. Blood seeping out from around it. The edges of your vision going dark.
“Buck… I…” and with that you collapsed. Bucky grabbed you before you hit the ground, cradling your head.
“I need immediate evacuation of my current position” he started barking in his radio.
“Are you hurt?” you heard Steve ask over your comms.
“No, it’s not me. It’s Y/N” Bucky said back.
“Fuck no!” Steve yelled. “Team, fall back! Buck we’re on our way”
“HURRY STEVE!” Bucky screamed into the comms.
You grabbed Bucky’s arm and he looked down at you. Horror, panic, anger all flashed across his face in an instant.
“I’m…” you started, choking at the searing pain shooting through you.
“Shhhhh, Y/N, it’s okay” Bucky said.
“He… wanted… to kill… you… I… couldn’t” you said. Taking a deep breath. Unconsciousness played at the corner of your vision, the world was starting to go black. Your eyes fluttering closed and open.
“Hey, hey, stay with me Y/N, stay with me, please!” Bucky whispered, touching the side of your face.
“Tell… Steve…” you started.
“No, you tell him, Y/N, you tell him!” Bucky was angry now, tears threatening to spill over his cheeks.
Yours eyes fluttered again, your grip on Bucky’s arm loosened. You heard Steve’s voice, he was barking orders, he was angry. He sounded so far away, too far away. He came over to your other side, he looked down at you. Your vision blurry.
“Steve” you started, you were shivering now. Unconsciousness gripped you tight and yanked you away. Your vision went black.
***
You opened your eyes again, and could see Steve was carrying you; you were walking through a forest of some kind, trees overhead looming. You guessed it was the one you ran through to get to the compound. He looked down and said something, but you slipped away again.
***
Next time you opened your eyes, you were on the Quinjet, the red lights flashing on the roof. Alarms blaring. You tried to look around to see if everyone was okay, but the searing pain dragged you back into the darkness.
***
Bright white lights flashed by in intervals. You were on something that was moving. Something that felt like it was trying to swallow you whole. Steve still in his gear beside you. Worried. You tried to touch him, fingers just caressing his hand, his head immediately whipping to look at you, but you faded away.
***
You couldn’t open your eyes, they were too heavy, but you could hear the rhythmic beeping of medical equipment, Steve talking quietly in the distance.
“Steve” you managed to croak. Big hands engulfed yours in an instant.
“I’m here baby” he whispered, kissing your forehead, and then you were gone again.

Blog tour day! Allow me to tell you more about Husband Material by Emily Belden, as well as share an excerpt from the book.
Husband Material : A Novel Emily Belden On Sale Date: December 30, 2019 9781525805981, 1525805983 Trade Paperback $15.99 USD, $19.99 CAD Fiction / Romance / Romantic Comedy 304 pages
Tumblr media
Told in Emily Belden's signature edgy voice, a novel about a young widow's discovery of her late husband's secret and her journey toward hope and second-chance love.
Twenty-nine-year-old Charlotte Rosen has a secret: she’s a widow. Ever since the fateful day that leveled her world, Charlotte has worked hard to move forward. Great job at a hot social media analytics company? Check. Roommate with no knowledge of her past? Check. Adorable dog? Check. All the while, she’s faithfully data-crunched her way through life, calculating the probability of risk—so she can avoid it.
Yet Charlotte’s algorithms could never have predicted that her late husband’s ashes would land squarely on her doorstep five years later. Stunned but determined, Charlotte sets out to find meaning in this sudden twist of fate, even if that includes facing her perfectly coiffed, and perfectly difficult, ex-mother-in-law—and her husband’s best friend, who seems to become a fixture at her side whether she likes it or not.
But soon a shocking secret surfaces, forcing Charlotte to answer questions she never knew to ask and to consider the possibility of forgiveness. And when a chance at new love arises, she’ll have to decide once and for all whether to follow the numbers or trust her heart.
Advance Praise for Husband Material
“Tackling thorny questions of widowhood and dating after trauma, Belden's second novel is witty, full of heart, and blindingly au courant. Packed with pop-culture references, it will appeal to fans of Sophie Kinsella, Rosie Walsh, and Plum Sykes. Belden writes twists and turns to keep readers hooked.” —Booklist
“Charming.” —Publishers Weekly
“Sensitive, thoughtful, and touching.” —Library Journal
“In this touching, witty, and timely book, Emily Belden deftly explores the complexities of human relationships in our increasingly tech-obsessed world. By turns heartbreaking and laugh-out-loud funny, Husband Material beautifully demonstrates that you can't reduce love to a bunch of 1s and 0s.”

Rating: 4/5 stars
Review: This was a very fun read for me. Belden writes in a style that I really enjoy, it feels fresh and light. Though the book tackled some heavy subjects, none of it was felt in the writing. The plot was paced well, and the way it progressed felt natural. The idea behind the book was beautifully executed. The characters were well developed and set up in a way that kept the book dynamic and entertaining. Though the characters aren’t relatable, straying from most books in the romance genre, Husband Material didn’t need to rely on that to make the book as enjoyable as it was. All it needed was the wit that Belden incorporated in it, and that was enough for me.
Excerpt:
Well, that’s a first.
And I’m not talking about the fact that I brought a date to a wedding I’m pretty sure didn’t warrant me a plus-one. I’m talking about grabbing a wedding card that just so happened to say “Congrats, Mr. & Mr.” on my way to celebrate the nuptials of the most iconic heterosexual couple since George and Amal. This—and a king-sized KitKat bar from the checkout lane—is what I get for rushing through the greeting card aisle in Target while my Uber driver waited in the loading zone with his f lashers on.
It’s Monica and Danny’s big day. She’s my coworker, whose gorgeous face is constantly lining the glossy pages of Luxe LA magazine. Not only because she’s one of the leading ladies at Forbes’s new favorite company, The Influencer Firm, but because this socialite-turned-CEO is now married to Daniel Jones—head coach of the LA Galaxy, Los Angeles’s professional soccer team. If you’re thinking he must look like a derivative of an American David Beckham, you’re basicallythere. Let’s just hope their sense of humor is as good as their looks when they see the card I accidentally picked out.
Before I place it on the gift table, I stuff the envelope with a crisp hundred-dollar bill fresh from the ATM. Side note: I think wedding registries are bullshit. Everybody wants an ice cream maker until you have one and never use it, which is why I spring for cold, hard cash instead. I grab a black Sharpie marker from the guest book table, pop the cap off, and attempt to squeeze in a nondescript s after the second “Mr.,” hoping my makeshift, hand-drawn serif font letter doesn’t stick out like a sore thumb. I blow on the fresh ink, then hold the pseudo Pinterest-fail an arm’s length away. That’ll do, I think to myself.
I lift a glass of red wine from a caterer’s tray as if we choreographed the move and check the time on my Apple Watch, which arguably isn’t the most fashionable accessory when dressing for a chic summer wedding. But aside from the fact that it doesn’t quite match my strapless pale yellow cocktail dress, it serves a much greater purpose for me. It keeps my data front and center, right where I want it, not on my phone buried somewhere deep in my purse. Bonus: the band, smack-dab on the middle of my wrist, also covers a tattoo I’ve been meaning to have lasered off.
Other than telling me the time, 7:30 p.m., it also serves up my most recent Tinder notifications. I’ve gotten four new matches since this morning, which isn’t bad for a) a Saturday, since most people do their Tindering while zoning out at work or bored in bed at night; and b) a pushing-thirty New York native whose most recent relationship was the love-hate one with a stubborn last ten pounds. That’s me, by the way. Charlotte Rosen.
Though present and accounted for now, the battle of Tide pen vs. toothpaste stain went on for longer than I intended back at my apartment, causing me to arrive about half an hour late to the cocktail hour. Which means I for sure missed Monica and Dan’s ceremony in its entirety. I, of all people, know that’srude. I’m someone who is hypersensitive to people’s arrival tendencies (well, to all measurable tendencies, to be honest; more on that later). But I’m sort of glad I missed the I Dos, as there is still something about witnessing the exchange of vows that makes me a little squeamish. I got married five years ago and, well, I’m not married anymore—let’s put it that way.
The good news is that with time, I can feel it’s definitely getting easier to come to things like this. To believe that the couple really will stay together through it all. To believe that there is such a thing as “the one”—even if it may actually be “the other” that I’m looking for this next go-round.
Late as I may be to the wedding party, there are some perks to my delayed arrival. Namely, the line at the bar has died down enough for me to trade up this mediocre red wine for a decent gin and tonic. Another perk? Several fresh platters of bacon-wrapped dates have just descended like UFOs onto the main floor of the venue, which happens to be a barn from the 1800s. Except this is Los Angeles, and there are no barns from the 1800s. So instead, every creaky floorboard, every corroded piece of siding, and every decrepit roof shingle has been sourced from deep in the countryside of southwest Iowa to create the sense that guests are surrounded by rolling fields, fragrant orchard blossoms, and fruiting trees. The reality being that just outside the wooden walls of the coveted, three-year-long-wait-list Oak Mill Barn stands honking, gridlocked traffic on the 405 and an accompanying smog alert.
As I continue to wait for my impromptu wedding date, Chad, to come back from the bathroom, I robotically swipe left on the first three guys who pop up on Bumble, another dating app I’m on, then finally decide to message a guy who looks like a bright-eyed Jason Bateman (you know, pre-Ozark) and is a stockbroker, according to his profile. We end up matching and he asks me for drinks. I vaguely accept. Welcome to dating in LA.
I’ve conducted some research that has shown that after the age of thirty, it becomes exponentially harder to find your future husband. What number constitutes exponentially? I’m not sure yet, but I’m working on narrowing in on that because generalities don’t really cut it for me. Thinking through things logically like this centers me, calms me, and resets me—no matter what life throws my way. All that’s to say, I’m officially in my last good year of dating (and my last year of not having to include a night serum in my skin care regimen), and I’m determined not to wind up with my dog, my roommate, and a few low-maintenance houseplants as my sole life partners.
“Sorry that took so long,” says Chad, returning from the men’s room twenty minutes after leaving. “Did you know the bathroom at this place is an actual outhouse? Thank god it was leg day at the gym—I had to squat over the pot. My quads are burning nice now.”
Confession. I didn’t just bring a date to the wedding, I brought a blind date.
No worries, though. Monica knows how serious I am about the path to Mr. Right and supports the fact that I go on my fair share of dates to get me there quicker. Plus, he isn’t a total stranger; she knows him—or, she met him, rather. He attended her work event last week at the LA County Museum of Art and is supposedly this cute, single real estate something or other. Of course he tried to hit on her and, unlike most beautiful people in Los Angeles, Monica actually copped to being in a committed relationship with Danny. (Who doesn’t like to brag they’re marrying Mr. Galaxy himself?) So she did the next best thing and gave him her single coworker’s Instagram handle and told him to slide into my DMs. It’s a bold move on her part, but I appreciate her quick thinking and commitment to my cause, Operation: Reclassify My Marital Status.
Since Chad first messaged me a week ago, I’ve done my homework on him. And I’m not talking about just your basic cyber stalking. I’m talking about procuring and sifting through real, bona fide data. It’s essentially a version of what I’m paid to do for a living—track down all the “influencers,” people with a lot of fans and followers on the internet, and match them to events we plan for our clients so they can post on social media and boost our clients’ profiles.
Some may think my side-project software, the one that computes how much of a match I am with someone, is a bit…much, but I don’t see it that way at all. I’m on the hunt for a man who is a true match for me—one who won’t just up and leave in the blink of an eye. I left things up to fate once and look how that turned out. I’ll be damned if I do it that way again.
While I studied up on Chad, I conducted a hefty “image search,” yielding about a hundred photos of him that have been uploaded across a variety of social platforms over the years. In real life, I’m pleased to say he checks out. Chad is over six feet tall, tanned, and toned, with coiffed Zac Efron hair that’s on the verge of being described as “a bit extra.” From the shoulders up, he’s an emoji. A walking, talking emoji. But as I step back and admire him in his expertly tailored suit, he looks like a contestant on The Bachelor. In retrospect, Chad is just the right amount of good-looking to complement my physical appearance, which can be described as a made-for-TV version of an otherwise good-looking actress.
“Something to drink, sir?” one of the caterers asks Chad.
“Yes. A spicy margarita. Unless… Wait. Do you make the margarita mix yourselves? Or is it, like, that sugary store-bought crap?”
Eek. I had forgotten my discovery that Chad is a bit of a…wellness guru. I guess so is everyone in LA, but I can’t help but be taken aback when I hear that there are people who actually care about the scientific makeup of margarita mix.
“Fuck it. Too many calories either way,” Chad announces before giving the waitress a chance to answer his question. “I’ll just take a whiskey.”
“Splash of Coke?”
“God, no. So many empty calories.”
With his drink order in, Chad rolls his neck around and pops bones I never knew existed. Then, one by one, the joints in his fingers. The sound makes me a bit queasy but I’m trying to focus on the positive, like his beautiful hazel eyes and the fact that cherry tomatoes and mini mozzarella balls with an injection of balsamic vinegar are the latest and greatest munchie to hit the floor.
Chad turns to me with a smile, his palm connecting with the small of my back. “Should we find our seats? What table are we at?”
Good question, I think to myself. I’m at table six. Chad is…on a fold-up chair we will have to ask a caterer to squeeze between me and Monica’s great-aunt Sally? I kind of forgot to mention to him that I didn’t really get an official okay to bring him tonight.
“Table six,” I say pleasantly with a smile.
“Six is my lucky number. Well, that, and nine, if you know what I mean,” Chad says with a wink accompanied by an actual thumbs-up.
The waitress comes back with his whiskey neat, and he proposes we clink our glasses in a toast to meeting up as we make our way to the table. Still not over the lingering effects of his immature, pervysixty-nine joke, I reluctantly concede to do the cheers with the perpetual high-schooler.
“So, what did you think of Monica’s event?” I say to break the ice as we take our seats at the luckily empty round table.
“Well, I don’t really know what she does for a living, but she is fine as hell. I mean, that’s why I hit on her last week atthe LACMA. Sure, I saw the ring on her finger, but couldn’t resist saying hi to a goddess like her. My god, that woman is something else.”
I nod in agreement. Partly because, yes, Monica Hoang needs her own beauty column in Marie Claire, stat. And partly because I’m too shocked by his crass demeanor to really do or say anything else. Did I say Chad reminded me of a contestant on The Bachelor? I think I meant he reminds me of a guy who gets sent home on night one of The Bachelor.
“She said you’re a real estate…attorney, was it?” I awkwardly segue. “What’s your favorite neighborhood in Los Angeles?”
It sounds like I’m interviewing him for a job, which in a way, I am. But had I known the conversation was going to be like forcefully wringing out a damp rag, just hoping to squeeze out something semidecent, I would have never invited him to join me at the wedding. In fact, I likely wouldn’t have gone through with a date, of any kind, at all. Conversation skills rank high on my list of preferred qualities in a mate. Looks like he’s the exception to the rule that attorneys are good linguists, because my app sure as shit didn’t predict this fail.
So how does my software work, then? Well, it’s all about compatibility. My algorithm is programmed to know what I like and what I’m looking for in the long term. So to see if a guy is a match, I comb through his online profiles, enter the facts I find out about him, and generate a report that indicates how likely he is to be my future husband or how likely we would be to get a divorce, for example. One of the most helpful stats is how likely we are to go on a second date. I’ve determined that anyone scoring above 70 percent means that chances are good we’d go out again. And, well, a second date is the first step to marriage. You get the point. Anyone below a 70, I ignore and move on. Chad pulled a 74, which is a solidC if you’re using a high school grading system. Not stellar, but certainly passable with room for improvement.
As it’s turning out, there’s a lot of room for improvement.
“Huh? I’m not in real estate,” he says with a confused look on his face.
“Oh, Monica said you were an attorney at Laird & Hutchinson?”
“Well, yes, that’s the name of our firm. The Laird side is real estate. But they acquired Hutchinson a couple years ago, and that’s the side of the practice I work on.”
“What kind of law is Hutchinson?”
“We’re the ‘Life’s too short, get a divorce!’ guys. You’ve probably seen a few of our company’s billboards.”
Chad slides his business card my way, and as soon as I see the logo, I picture those billboards slathered all over the bus stop benches down Laurel Canyon Drive and feel physically ill. Not only because he’s in the business of making divorce seem cheeky, but also because I’m wondering what other things I might have missed or gotten wrong about Chad.
“Wait. So have you ever been divorced?” The question pops off my tongue involuntarily. As soon as the words come out, I remember he reserves the right to ask me the same question in return and immediately regret posing it. I’m not ready to explain the demise of my first marriage.
“Me? Nah. Never married.”
Luckily, a server reappears to take our dinner order. But let it be known that if Chad had asked, I would have explained that I didn’t give up on my life partner because I was frustrated he failed to load a dishwasher in any sort of methodical way. I didn’t just get bored and say “screw it,” chalking the whole thing up as just a starter marriage (google it, this is a thing now). In fact, if anyone abruptly left anyone, he abandoned me out of nowhere.
“Would you like the chicken and veggies or the short rib and scalloped potatoes?” the caterer asks me.
“Short rib and potatoes,” I say, a game-time decision made entirely by my growling stomach.
At that, Chad looks at me like I rolled into the Vatican wearing a tube top. “You sure about that, Char? There are so many hidden carbs in potatoes,” he whispers with a hint of disgust.
First off, Char is reserved for people with a little more tenure in my life, thankyouverymuch. And secondly—
“Yes, I’m sure. An extra scoop of potatoes if possible,” I say, loud enough for our waitress, who jots down the special instruction.
“Chicken for me. Extra veggies,” my 74 percent match requests.
There it is. His wellness obsession flaring up again. I’m racking my brain for what to say next to a guy who screams “dead end” to me.

2019 September 2-7 Pushing Thru Headache
“The distance between insanity and genius is measured only by success.” Bruce Fierstein
>> XVI 19-24 Week 4 (all slow)
>> #19 Heavy Push /lbs
Labor-day, once a year the left and the right stop working on the same day. The rest of the year, you’re annoying. Starting today knowing better posts with cause/effect are needed; my tri-bar kneeling pulldowns are improving, idk if by pullovers or abs, but getting straight-downward pulls in the whole ladder of core work; pull-ups are getting harder, half from grip strength, needing knuckles cracked, and half from anxiety, so AM adding a daily pull ups failset PM, single slow rep pm, to gauge/rate, and on pull-up day doing them lastly to warm-up or piss-off, lol. Really need to balance macros, to not binge carbs, but also to not binge protein, can’t have one without the other for lasting effects, and hay que correrse a treadmill, or stairs, something. My water game is not drought resistant, must wake up, drink water, not just nonchalantly waiting to drink, naively, only at the gym, in part to breakdown repetitive cellulose, and if that means working out earlier, then so be it. Would love to get up at midnight and start my day, for the rest of my life, that amount of fuckuppery course correction. And would love to be jacked ripped stacked and stripped after gymming for years. 1234567
From t-nation IG reminded that I’ve 1 - never done a decline bench press, 2 - can do some stretching with weights, albeit similarly natured to yoga + stretch, they’re calling it loaded stretching, with this time under tension as it were, creating lactic acid, a required piece of the bodybuilding puzzle, just like other methods of course, which I’m betting is similar to FST’s intra-set stretching fascia / flexing cells; weighted stretching chest would reduce hunching, stimulate growth, stimulates receptors, creates an absorbtion effect like wringing a sponge and setting it in water, and muscle fatigues; and with resting periods as long as the set? Will try this, maybe I pump up from it; it improves mobility, which aids in later force production - (support muscles help, like abs vs lunches, etc) - activates contraction capacity, the center of the muscle in fast twitch (big muscles), the fascia in slow twitch (smaller muscles), and if done easy can strengthen tendons. https://www.t-nation.com/training/stretch-with-weights-to-build-muscle
everybody stretches and flexes when they wake (after a few days off), maybe leap from plateau

Treadmill, warmup walk, voicemail 4 seconds of “I'n tsa er zumeitsu” trying to figure out if I give a shit, what a week, if you want someone to ask a giant favor, clear your schedule and plan to sleep in, and they’ll wake you up. Part want to dip my head in an ice bucket, part want to quit lifting, the lug siren went off for no reason.
High row better, lat pulldown same, body stiff, lean was insufficient, low row same, needs a lot of work, needs better scapula or lats ROM/flexibility, smith shrugs better grip, but lightly done compensation flexed a little much, EZ curl was better, the slow week (half last week, this week) improves weightlifting, not definition, somewhat better, so tired, concentric curls af, cable curl partially inward seems easier to do and less straining, did a squeeze at the top to prep for 7/7’s next (flex) week, saving the pullups for last was better than firstly, but should do it in the middle next time; twist same/rushed; treadmill did 30minutes post, and then sprinted 1min 3mph, walk 1min for three sprints. New mental hurdle definitely, might drop 10 minutes from intervals to give to sprints. Not might. Will.

The history of MPLS
This article is talking about the history of MPLS, and the next article will be talking about MPLS VPN technology overview. SPOTO Club has online training of CCIE RS. And this is the timetable for June.
Join SPOTO Cisco Study Group to get more information here.
Now, let’s start the history of MPLS.
Challenges posed by the development of the Internet
In the early 1990s, with the rapid popularization of the Internet, due to the limitations of the hardware technology at that time, the router adopting the longest matching algorithm and hop-by-hop forwarding mode became a major bottleneck to limit the performance of network forwarding, and the fast router technology became a research hotspot at that time.
At the same time, ATM technology can provide much higher forwarding performance than IP routing because it USES fixed-length labels and only needs to maintain a much smaller label table than the routing table. This led to widespread debate at the time about which of the two would be the basis of the next generation of network technologies: IP, which was simple but limited in performance; ATM technology has high performance, but its complex control signaling and high deployment costs are prohibitive.
Naturally, some people are trying to combine the advantages of ATM and IP technology to provide high performance similar to ATM technology while keeping IP technology simple. Many vendors have conducted similar studies, and the result is that each vendor has come up with its own solution for label switching.
IP Switching
In the spring of 1996 a small Californian firm, IPSilon, launched a stunning technology called IP Switching. IP Switching technology combines ATM’s high-speed forwarding capability with IP’s simplicity and ease of deployment by providing an additional IP routing engine on ATM switches.
IP Switching’s IP routing engine runs the standard IP routing protocol and performs regular hop-by-hop IP forwarding. It makes use of the efficient forwarding plane of ATM, gives up the complicated control plane protocol of ATM, and USES the simpler protocol developed by itself. It includes the label binding Protocol (called IPSilon Flow Management Protocol IFMP RFC1953) and Switch Management Protocol (called General Switch Management Protocol GSMP RFC1987) to complete the establishment of ATM channels between devices. Forwarding channel is established in the data-driven method in IP Switching technology. When a service flow is detected, the IP routing engine will negotiate with the upstream adjacency nodes through GSMP/IFMP protocol, assign a VPI/VCI for the service, and update the corresponding ATM Switching table. This is repeated for each IP Switching device on the service flow’s routing channel, which creates an end-to-end ATM channel for the service flow. In this way, the service flow changes from hop-by-hop IP forwarding mode to ATM forwarding mode, which can achieve higher forwarding performance.
IP Switching technology has transformed IPSilon from a small but unknown company into a star of IP communication industry, inspiring industry giants such as Cisco and IBM to offer three-layer Switching solutions that are easier to scale and upgrade, which has triggered a revolution of routing Switching technology and led to the emergence of MPLS technology.
The Tag Switching
Not long after IPSilon announced its IP Switching technology, Cisco announced its own Tag Switching solution, called Tag Switching, in the fall of 1996. Tag Switching technology for each destination address in the routing table assigned a short and long, and for this purpose in the network address to establish a label forwarding way, IP data stream is encapsulated in the label, when forwarding according to label forwarding, because Cisco believes that short and long label forwarding process, then the longest matching way IP routing forwarding more efficient and can provide a higher forward rate.
Tag Switching is quite different from IP Switching in technology. Tag Switching creates a forwarding channel for each destination address that appears in the routing table of the Tag Switching Router. IP Switching is used for a forwarding channel driven by the data flow, which is used only for the data flow. Tag Switching is, it seems, topologically driven, but IP Switching is data-driven.
The IBM ARIS
Almost as soon as Cisco announced its Tag Switching technology, IBM proposed a Tag Switching solution called ARIS(Aggregate route-based IP Switching).ARIS and Cisco’s Tag Switching technologies are quite similar, both of which are topology-driven tagging technologies for tagging and routing. ARIS has some unique features. For example, it initially considered ATM as the link layer and proposed VC merging technology, which eventually integrated into MPLS.
The present and future of MPLS
MPLS encapsulates network layer grouping with short and long labels. MPLS obtains link layer services from various link layers (such as PPP, ATM, frame relay, Ethernet, etc.) and provides connection-oriented services for the network layer. MPLS can be supported from IP routing protocol and control protocol, as well as policy-based, constrained routing, which is powerful and flexible to meet the network requirements of various new applications. MPLS technology originated from IPv4, but its core technology can be extended to many network protocols (IPv6, IPX, etc.).
MPLS was originally proposed as a protocol to improve the forwarding speed of routers. However, with the development of hardware technology, high-speed routers and three-layer switches that adopt ASIC and NP forwarding are widely used, so the original intention of MPLS to improve the forwarding speed has become meaningless. However, MPLS support multiple tags and connection-oriented characteristic, make its in VPN, Traffic Engineering (TE, Traffic Engineering) is widely used, QoS, etc, and because of its good expansibility, makes in the unity of MPLS/IP based network architecture to provide clients with all kinds of service possible, so as to make the MPLS has increasingly become the basic technology of large-scale network.

About Lambert Strether
Readers, I have had a correspondent characterize my views as realistic cynical. Let me briefly explain them. I believe in universal programs that provide concrete material benefits, especially to the working class. Medicare for All is the prime example, but tuition-free college and a Post Office Bank also fall under this heading. So do a Jobs Guarantee and a Debt Jubilee. Clearly, neither liberal Democrats nor conservative Republicans can deliver on such programs, because the two are different flavors of neoliberalism (“Because markets”). I don’t much care about the “ism” that delivers the benefits, although whichever one does have to put common humanity first, as opposed to markets. Could be a second FDR saving capitalism, democratic socialism leashing and collaring it, or communism razing it. I don’t much care, as long as the benefits are delivered. To me, the key issue — and this is why Medicare for All is always first with me — is the tens of thousands of excess “deaths from despair,” as described by the Case-Deaton study, and other recent studies. That enormous body count makes Medicare for All, at the very least, a moral and strategic imperative. And that level of suffering and organic damage makes the concerns of identity politics — even the worthy fight to help the refugees Bush, Obama, and Clinton’s wars created — bright shiny objects by comparison. Hence my frustration with the news flow — currently in my view the swirling intersection of two, separate Shock Doctrine campaigns, one by the Administration, and the other by out-of-power liberals and their allies in the State and in the press — a news flow that constantly forces me to focus on matters that I regard as of secondary importance to the excess deaths. What kind of political economy is it that halts or even reverses the increases in life expectancy that civilized societies have achieved? I am also very hopeful that the continuing destruction of both party establishments will open the space for voices supporting programs similar to those I have listed; let’s call such voices “the left.” Volatility creates opportunity, especially if the Democrat establishment, which puts markets first and opposes all such programs, isn’t allowed to get back into the saddle. Eyes on the prize! I love the tactical level, and secretly love even the horse race, since I’ve been blogging about it daily for fourteen years, but everything I write has this perspective at the back of it.

Got Active Kids? Here Are 9 Simple Ways to Stretch the Family Budget
You’ve weathered the baby-rearing years. Congratulations! Now you can sit back and enjoy having your kids in school.
Oh, but now there are hobbies: band, dance class and sports. Don’t forget field trips.
By the time you’ve paid for that clarinet and lessons, dance shoes and costumes, cleats and knee pads, your family budget is shot.
Raising kids is expensive. But there are things you can do to help the rest of the family budget survive as your little progeny showcases all of their talents.
1. Do Fun Stuff for Less
OK, the kids are in school, and that’s expensive. But that doesn’t mean you have to sit around on the weekends watching the grass grow. Get out there, and do some fun stuff!
Just don’t pay full price for it.
If you haven’t embraced deal sites like Groupon or LivingSocial yet, it’s time to take a look. You can find a lot of sweet deals on local activities, attractions and restaurants with very little effort. It’s a simple way to save money but still get out of the house.
2. Don’t Pay Just to Access Your Own Money
With all the sporting events and other travel you do with the kids, chances are you’ll need to stop and get a little cash every so often.
The average total cost of taking cash from an out-of-network ATM is $4.68, according to a recent Bankrate survey.
Want to avoid those fees? There’s an easier way than driving around town to get to an in-network ATM. You can simply keep your money in an account that doesn’t charge those fees — like the Aspiration account.
With Aspiration, you’ll face no ATM fees — domestic or international. ATMs in-network are free, and Aspiration will reimburse you the fees for out-of-network ATMs monthly.
Other perks? You’ll never pay a monthly maintenance fee, a minimum balance fee or an overdraft fee. Oh, and you’ll earn up to 2.00% APY interest on your account’s balance.
Yup. It’s that simple to start living a fee-free* life thanks to Aspiration. That’s a big win for a family on the go.
3. Missed a Good Deal? Get Paid Back
If you’re like most parents, you don’t have a lot of time to run to the mall. You probably do a lot of your shopping online. That’s cool. Now you don’t have to worry about the “what ifs” of sales that start tomorrow or next week. Get the tool that hunts for those deals for you.
One of our secret weapons is called Paribus — a tool that gets you money back for your online purchases. It’s free to sign up, and once you do, it will scan your email for any receipts. If it discovers you’ve purchased something from one of its monitored retailers, it will track the item’s price and help you get a refund when there’s a price drop.
Plus, if your guaranteed shipment shows up late, Paribus will help you get compensated.
Disclosure: Paribus compensates us when you sign up using the links we provide.
4. Make Sure You’re Not Overpaying for Car Insurance
All of the driving you do to get your kids to soccer or the science fair adds up. It also means you’re probably not getting that low-mileage discount from your car insurance company. Are you spending too much on your car insurance? When was the last time you checked?
Just like you compare the prices of flights, shoes and laptops before purchasing, why not compare car insurance?
The Zebra, an online car insurance search engine that offers “insurance in black and white,” compares your options from 204 providers in less than 60 seconds.
We talked to Artie Januario, who found new insurance through The Zebra and managed to knock off $30 a month — or $360 a year — from his premium.
With the money you save, you could get something nice for yourself. Ha! Just kidding… You will, however, have a little more available to budget for the kids’ next great adventure.
5. Feed the Fam for Less
The refrigerator never stays full for long when you have kids. Make those frequent trips to the grocery store a little less painful by earning cash back.
That’s right: Ibotta will pay you cash for taking pictures of your grocery store receipts.
Here’s how it works:  Before heading to the store, search for items on your shopping list within the Ibotta app. When you get home, snap a photo of your receipt and scan the items’ barcodes.
Bam. Cash back.
Ibotta is free to download. Plus, you’ll get a $10 sign-up bonus after uploading your first receipt.
Some cash-back opportunities we’ve seen include:
25 cents back for any item.
25 cents back on strawberries.
50 cents back on frozen fruit snacks.
Notice those aren’t tied to a brand — just shop for the staples on your list and earn cash back!
6. Get Paid to Dress the Kids for Success
When your kids are in school, they grow — and fast. That super-cute outfit you bought last fall? Useless now. You need new clothes for them. Again.
One of our favorite ways to save is with Ebates, a cash-back site that rewards you nearly every time you buy something online. For example, Ebates gives you up to 10% cash back on online purchases at Walmart.
Plus, you’ll get a free $10 gift card to Walmart for giving the site a try.
To earn your gift card:
Sign up for Ebates with your email or Facebook account.
Use the Ebates portal the next time you need to buy something. It’s connected to thousands of stores, including Walmart, Amazon and Target. You’ll need to make your first purchase through the site within 90 days and spend at least $25.
Your account will be credited with rewards points you can cash in for your $10 Walmart gift card.
It’s easy savings for clothes you know you have to buy because they’ve already outgrown last month’s styles.
7. Sell off Stuff They Dont Need Anymore
From toys to clothes to bedroom decor, your kids accumulate stuff fast, don’t they?
Don’t just hang on to that stuff and let it fill up your basement or garage. Sell it, so you have a little extra money (and room) to buy the new stuff.
You can sell virtually anything on Letgo. This intuitive app lets you snap a photo and upload your item in less than 30 seconds. It removes a lot of the hassle of selling things online, and it’s 100% free to use.
Come on, you know your kids are going to want new stuff, and your home can only hold so much!
8. Pay Less to Get There. And There. And There.
Having kids means you have to run to a lot of activities. From sporting events to band practice and any number of other things, you may feel like you live in your car.
And that car needs gas. No, not the stinky kind. If you have boys, you’re probably all set there. We mean gasoline, and that can get expensive. You need to save at the pump.
Get a discount card from GasBuddy to automatically save 10 cents per gallon on your first purchase (and 5 cents per gallon after that).
The free discount card is tied directly to your checking account. It works at 95% of gas stations throughout the country, so you don’t have to drive around town just to find “your” station. Plus, you don’t have to wait for a rebate — it’s immediate savings.
Simply and securely sign up through GasBuddy. Connect your bank account, enter your address, and GasBuddy will put a card in the mail.
9. Keep Saving Even Though You’re Busy
Saving money is tough. Saving money when you have kids in school can seem impossible. So what if you could do it in a way where you wouldn’t even notice?
Digit makes that possible.
This innovative app automates saving for you. Simply link it to your checking account, and its algorithms will determine small (and safe!) amounts of money to withdraw into a separate, FDIC-insured savings account.
Bonus: Penny Hoarders will get an extra $5 just for signing up! Additionally, savers will receive a 1.00% bonus every three months.
Using this set-it-and-forget-it strategy, Penny Hoarder Matt Wiley told us he saved $4,300 without noticing.
If you need that money sooner than expected, you’ll always have access to it within one business day.
Digit is free to use for the first 30 days, then it’s $2.99 per month afterward. That’s a small price to pay to keep your family saving during the crazy days of school.
Take Your Mind off Money and Focus on Fun
Hey, your kids are only this age once. Enjoy it!
Having school-aged kids can be financially taxing, but you can relieve some of that stress by following these tips and taking some of the pressure off. You don’t want to spend all of your time dwelling on the family budget. You want to teach your baby girl to hit her free throws and your little guy how to play that guitar.
Remember, it might be hard, but it’s OK to say no to your kids on occasion, too. They don’t have to be in every extracurricular activity out there. Learning how to limit their activities and wants can save you a lot of money and a little bit of stress, as well.
Oh, and don’t forget to get a Groupon or Livingsocial deal for a nice, relaxing date night for yourself. You deserve it.
*Aspiration Partners, Inc. and its affiliates are committed to “All Extra Services Provided at Cost,” meaning that it’ll only charge you what it costs them to provide the extra service (such as a wire transfer), and not a penny more. Besides these at-cost service charges, the only account fee you pay is the fee you choose, even if it’s $0, which is why it’s called Pay What Is Fair.

New System Simplifies Exc industrial equipmentel Programming
www.inhandnetworks.com
In this illustration of the researchers' system in action, a user provides a pair of examples that correlate data — product names and dates — with an arithmetic expression. The system automatically determines the sources of the data — the tables below — and generalizes from the examples to additional expressions (in bold).
Customizing spreadsheets in Microsoft Excel is continuing to get easier and more efficient. Developed by an MIT graduate student and Microsoft researcher, a new system lets Excel users customize their spreadsheets by giving a few examples of how they want data processed and some of this work is already being implemented in beta tests.
Microsoft’s Visual Basic programming language lets Excel users customize their spreadsheets in all kinds of time-saving ways, but few people take advantage of it. Although designed to be intuitive and easy to use, Visual Basic can still be daunting to users with no previous programming experience.
As both an intern and a consultant at Microsoft, Rishabh Singh, a graduate student in the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL) at MIT, has worked with Microsoft Research’s Sumit Gulwani to develop a system that lets Excel users customize their spreadsheets simply by giving examples of how they want data processed. Singh and Gulwani describe the work in a pair of papers they’re presenting this summer at the Computer-Aided Verification and Very Large Databases conferences.
The system has two main components. The first, which Singh and Gulwani developed during Singh’s first internship at Microsoft, can modify text strings on the basis of a few examples. For instance, if you had a spreadsheet in which dates were entered in the form “17 January 2009,” you could simply type one or two examples of dates in the form “Jan. 17, 2009”; the system would automatically deduce that you want the order of the month and day reversed, the month truncated after the first three letters, and punctuation add ce certified-  ed in the appropriate places.
Changing tables
But over the last two years, Singh and Gulwani have greatly expanded the power of their system by allowing it to exploit tables that establish correlations between different types of data. Suppose that you had a column of data from an old database in which the date “January 17, 2009” was instead rendered in the form “011709.” With the latest version of the system, you could create a 12-entry table correlating numbers with the names of months: “01” for January, “02” for February, and so on. Now, again on the basis of just a few examples, the system would learn to convert the numbers in the text strings to the names of the corresponding months.
Table-based correlations are particularly useful because, in practice, companies often have multiple databases or spreadsheets that contain different types of data about the same objects. For instance, a company might have Excel files from different retailers reporting sales figures and separate in-house documents recor telemeter  ding R&D expenses for the same products. Using Singh and Gulwani’s system, an Excel user could create a new file that compares aggregated sales figures with aggregated R&D expenses, again just by providing a few examples. The user does not even need to specify which information came from which table: The system automatically finds correlations across different sources.
In the future, Singh and Gulwani’s work could find its way into a commercial release of Excel. Indeed, the latest beta release of Excel includes a simpler example-based training system based on some of Gulwani’s earlier work.
The blow-up
Technically, the chief challenge in designing the system was handling the explosion of possible interpretations for any group of examples. Suppose that you had a list of times in military format that you wanted to convert to conventional hour-and-minute format. Your first remote monitoring   example might be converting “1515” to “3:15.” But which 15 in the first string corresponds to the 15 in the second? It’s even possible that the string “3:15” takes its 1 from the first 1 in “1515” and its 5 from the second 5. Similarly, the first 15 may correspond to the 3, but it’s also possible that all the new strings are supposed to begin with 3’s.
“Typically, we have millions of expressions that actually conform to a single example,” Singh says. “Then we have multiple examples, and I’m going to intersect them to find common expressions that work for all of them.” The trick, Singh explains, was to find a way to represent features shared by many expressions only once each. In experiments, Singh and Gulwani found that they never needed more than three examples in order to train their system.
“If you look at the macros [small programs] that one would have to write in order to perform those text transformations manually, compared to the few demonstrations that you do as an end-user, it’s quite amazing how much programming you can avoid doing through this system,” says Rastislav Bodík, an associate professor of computer science at the University of California at Berkeley who specializes in automatic program synthesis.
Bodík says the researchers addressed two central technical problems. The first is that “you need to search humongous spaces of programs,” Bodík says, “so you need good algorithms for doing search in that space of programs that can prune effectively huge subspaces.” But the second problem “is the interaction with the user,” Bodík says. “It seems that they figured out a pretty nice system for how the user can convey to the synthesizer of programs what they have in mind without really having to know what’s going on underneath.”

Ethereum Classic Continues Surging Ahead of Coinbase Listing
DigiByte (DGB) has been around since early 2014 but like many altcoins only came to public and commercial prominence during the market ramp-up of 2017. In fact, between January of last year and now, DGB coins have grown over 9,400% in value – a figure that holds up even now in the midst of a market downturn.
Any coin price recorded during January’s spike shouldn’t be relied upon as an indicator of future performance, but the +50,000% growth recorded during the peak of January 7th is surely worthy of a mention.
DigiByte is self-described as the “Fastest, longest, most decentralized & secure UTXO blockchain in the world today.” Bold claims indeed, but do they stand up?
The Blockchain
DigiByte’s claims on being the longest blockchain might have something to do with the block times. DigiByte blocks come along every fifteen seconds, and for a blockchain that has been mined since 2014 this adds up to a very long chain of blocks – outnumbering the older but slower Bitcoin blockchain which produces blocks every ten minutes.
What about its claims on being the fastest? Well right now DigiByte can handle 560 transactions per second, which vastly outnumbers the seven and fifteen transactions per second handled by Bitcoin and Ethereum respectively. DigiByte intend for that number to rise, with a projected 280,000 tps targeted for 2035.
Placing future projections to one side, even the current tps rate of 560 is enough to grab attention. The speeds on the network are helped in no small part by the large number of node operators on the blockchain, with 70,000 at the time of writing.
Hence when DigiByte claim to be the most decentralized blockchain, they might once again have a point. Compare the DGB node count to Bitcoin’s 9,000 or Ethereum’s 16,000 and you see the difference.
As for its claims on being the most secure…
Multi-Algo
Miners of all stripes and colors can find something to do on DigiByte with five different mining algorithms employed in the production of DGB. ASIC miners are catered to with the presence of SHA256 and Scrypt mining; and Skein, Groestl and Qubit make up the CPU and GPU end of the spectrum.
Each of the five algorithms take a 20% share of the block rewards, with each algo having its difficulty adjusted automatically in relation to the strength of its respective mining pool. The splitting of the mining duties also helps secure the network against 51% attacks, since any attacker would have to control a majority of at least three of the algorithm groups.
The fifteen second block times mentioned above are achieved by having each of the five algorithms produce a block in constant succession. Thus, each of the five algorithms are cycled every minute and a half.
A Brief History
This all sounds well and good, and has been enough to carry DigiByte to within the top thirty ranked cryptocurrencies in the world, but this weren’t always so rosy for Jared Tate’s project.
In fact, when Tate launched DigiByte it was also intended to be used as a transactional currency within the gaming industry. If necessity is the mother of invention, then perhaps it was the hungry demands of a large-scale gaming industry which pushed DigiByte’s back-end evolution.
Ultimately the gaming focus failed. After finding integration on popular games such as Minecraft and League of Legends, the project collapsed in spring of 2017 due to ongoing technical issues and denial-of-service attacks.
A detailed history of DigiByte’s development can be viewed on their website, but the development team were instrumental in introducing the DigiShield technology which was eventually adopted by a host of other mainstream blockchains as a defence against mining attacks.
The blockchain has undergone four hardforks since its inception, with each introducing new updates in the form of the fairly self-describing Multi-Algo, Multi-Shield, DigiSpeed and the aforementioned DigiShield.
SegWit was also implemented on DigiByte in early 2017, via one of three softforks enacted on the blockchain thus far.
Notable Partners
Well, getting anywhere close to becoming bedfellows with the likes of Minecraft and League of Legends is no small feat, even if the association seems to have ended. But DigiByte also brushed shoulders with the likes of Microsoft when it was added to Azure back in 2016, although news from that front has been quieter in 2018.
In recent times DigiByte partnered up with Investa – a financial services provider which aims to incorporate DGB onto its ATM machines and debit cards.
Recent Performance
DigiByte is one of the few coins to have recorded higher lows and (almost) higher highs since January. Look at the chart below and see one of the few altcoins not to have completely disintegrated amid the bear market of the last eight months.
DigiByte sets itself up as a competitor to Bitcoin, not to other altcoins. It took a while for DGB to get going (possibly due to the purposeful lack of an ICO or whitepaper) but when it did it fired full-steam ahead almost immediately.

Lifelong learning is becoming an economic imperative
Tumblr media
THE RECEPTION AREA contains a segment of a decommissioned Underground train carriage, where visitors wait to be collected. The surfaces are wood and glass. In each room the talk is of code, web development and data science. At first sight the London office of General Assembly looks like that of any other tech startup. But there is one big difference: whereas most firms use technology to sell their products online, General Assembly uses the physical world to teach technology. Its office is also a campus. The rooms are full of students learning and practising code, many of whom have quit their jobs to come here. Full-time participants have paid between £8,000 and £10,000 ($9,900-12,400) to learn the lingua franca of the digital economy in a programme lasting 10-12 weeks.
General Assembly, with campuses in 20 cities from Seattle to Sydney, has an alumni body of around 35,000 graduates. Most of those who enroll for full-time courses expect them to lead to new careers. The company’s curriculum is based on conversations with employers about the skills they are critically short of. It holds “meet and hire” events where firms can see the coding work done by its students. Career advisers help students with their presentation and interview techniques. General Assembly measures its success by how many of its graduates get a paid, permanent, full-time job in their desired field. Of its 2014-15 crop, three-quarters used the firm’s career-advisory services, and 99% of those were hired within 180 days of beginning their job hunt.
The company’s founder, Jake Schwartz, was inspired to start the company by two personal experiences: a spell of drifting after he realised that his degree from Yale conferred no practical skills, and a two-year MBA that he felt had cost too much time and money: “I wanted to change the return-on-investment equation in education by bringing down the costs and providing the skills that employers were desperate for.”
In rich countries the link between learning and earning has tended to follow a simple rule: get as much formal education as you can early in life, and reap corresponding rewards for the rest of your career. The literature suggests that each additional year of schooling is associated with an 8-13% rise in hourly earnings. In the period since the financial crisis, the costs of leaving school early have become even clearer. In America, the unemployment rate steadily drops as you go up the educational ladder.
Many believe that technological change only strengthens the case for more formal education. Jobs made up of routine tasks that are easy to automate or offshore have been in decline. The usual flipside of that observation is that the number of jobs requiring greater cognitive skill has been growing. The labour market is forking, and those with college degrees will naturally shift into the lane that leads to higher-paying jobs.
The reality seems to be more complex. The returns to education, even for the high-skilled, have become less clear-cut. Between 1982 and 2001 the average wages earned by American workers with a bachelor’s degree rose by 31%, whereas those of high-school graduates did not budge, according to the New York Federal Reserve. But in the following 12 years the wages of college graduates fell by more than those of their less educated peers. Meanwhile, tuition costs at universities have been rising.
A question of degree, and then some
The decision to go to college still makes sense for most, but the idea of a mechanistic relationship between education and wages has taken a knock. A recent survey conducted by the Pew Research Centre showed that a mere 16% of Americans think that a four-year degree course prepares students very well for a high-paying job in the modern economy. Some of this may be a cyclical effect of the financial crisis and its economic aftermath. Some of it may be simply a matter of supply: as more people hold college degrees, the associated premium goes down. But technology also seems to be complicating the picture.
Tumblr media
A paper published in 2013 by a trio of Canadian economists, Paul Beaudry, David Green and Benjamin Sand, questions optimistic assumptions about demand for non-routine work. In the two decades prior to 2000, demand for cognitive skills soared as the basic infrastructure of the IT age (computers, servers, base stations and fibre-optic cables) was being built; now that the technology is largely in place, this demand has waned, say the authors. They show that since 2000 the share of employment accounted for by high-skilled jobs in America has been falling. As a result, college-educated workers are taking on jobs that are cognitively less demanding (see chart), displacing less educated workers.
This analysis buttresses the view that technology is already playing havoc with employment. Skilled and unskilled workers alike are in trouble. Those with a better education are still more likely to find work, but there is now a fair chance that it will be unenjoyable. Those who never made it to college face being squeezed out of the workforce altogether. This is the argument of the techno-pessimists, exemplified by the projections of Carl-Benedikt Frey and Michael Osborne, of Oxford University, who in 2013 famously calculated that 47% of existing jobs in America are susceptible to automation.
There is another, less apocalyptic possibility. James Bessen, an economist at Boston University, has worked out the effects of automation on specific professions and finds that since 1980 employment has been growing faster in occupations that use computers than in those that do not. That is because automation tends to affect tasks within an occupation rather than wiping out jobs in their entirety. Partial automation can actually increase demand by reducing costs: despite the introduction of the barcode scanner in supermarkets and the ATM in banks, for example, the number of cashiers and bank tellers has grown.
But even though technology may not destroy jobs in aggregate, it does force change upon many people. Between 1996 and 2015 the share of the American workforce employed in routine office jobs declined from 25.5% to 21%, eliminating 7m jobs. According to research by Pascual Restrepo of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), the 2007-08 financial crisis made things worse: between 2007 and 2015 job openings for unskilled routine work suffered a 55% decline relative to other jobs.
Tumblr media
In many occupations it has become essential to acquire new skills as established ones become obsolete. Burning Glass Technologies, a Boston-based startup that analyses labour markets by scraping data from online job advertisements, finds that the biggest demand is for new combinations of skills—what its boss, Matt Sigelman, calls “hybrid jobs”. Coding skills, for example, are now being required well beyond the technology sector. In America, 49% of postings in the quartile of occupations with the highest pay are for jobs that frequently ask for coding skills (see chart). The composition of new jobs is also changing rapidly. Over the past five years, demand for data analysts has grown by 372%; within that segment, demand for data-visualisation skills has shot up by 2,574%.
A college degree at the start of a working career does not answer the need for the continuous acquisition of new skills, especially as career spans are lengthening. Vocational training is good at giving people job-specific skills, but those, too, will need to be updated over and over again during a career lasting decades. “Germany is often lauded for its apprenticeships, but the economy has failed to adapt to the knowledge economy,” says Andreas Schleicher, head of the education directorate of the OECD, a club of mostly rich countries. “Vocational training has a role, but training someone early to do one thing all their lives is not the answer to lifelong learning.”
Such specific expertise is meant to be acquired on the job, but employers seem to have become less willing to invest in training their workforces. In its 2015 Economic Report of the President, America’s Council of Economic Advisers found that the share of the country’s workers receiving either paid-for or on-the-job training had fallen steadily between 1996 and 2008. In Britain the average amount of training received by workers almost halved between 1997 and 2009, to just 0.69 hours a week.
Perhaps employers themselves are not sure what kind of expertise they need. But it could also be that training budgets are particularly vulnerable to cuts when the pressure is on. Changes in labour-market patterns may play a part too: companies now have a broader range of options for getting the job done, from automation and offshoring to using self-employed workers and crowdsourcing. “Organisations have moved from creating talent to consuming work,” says Jonas Prising, the boss of Manpower, an employment consultancy.
Add all of this up, and it becomes clear that times have got tougher for workers of all kinds. A college degree is still a prerequisite for many jobs, but employers often do not trust it enough to hire workers just on the strength of that, without experience. In many occupations workers on company payrolls face the prospect that their existing skills will become obsolete, yet it is often not obvious how they can gain new ones. “It is now reasonable to ask a marketing professional to be able to develop algorithms,” says Mr Sigelman, “but a linear career in marketing doesn’t offer an opportunity to acquire those skills.” And a growing number of people are self-employed. In America the share of temporary workers, contractors and freelancers in the workforce rose from 10.1% in 2005 to 15.8% in 2015.
Reboot camp
The answer seems obvious. To remain competitive, and to give low- and high-skilled workers alike the best chance of success, economies need to offer training and career-focused education throughout people’s working lives. This special report will chart some of the efforts being made to connect education and employment in new ways, both by smoothing entry into the labour force and by enabling people to learn new skills throughout their careers. Many of these initiatives are still embryonic, but they offer a glimpse into the future and a guide to the problems raised by lifelong reskilling.
Quite a lot is already happening on the ground. General Assembly, for example, is just one of a number of coding-bootcamp providers. Massive open online courses (MOOCs) offered by companies such as Coursera and Udacity, feted at the start of this decade and then dismissed as hype within a couple of years, have embraced new employment-focused business models. LinkedIn, a professional-networking site, bought an online training business, Lynda, in 2015 and is now offering courses through a service called LinkedIn Learning. Pluralsight has a library of on-demand training videos and a valuation in unicorn territory. Amazon’s cloud-computing division also has an education arm.
Universities are embracing online and modular learning more vigorously. Places like Singapore are investing heavily in providing their citizens with learning credits that they can draw on throughout their working lives. Individuals, too, increasingly seem to accept the need for continuous rebooting. According to the Pew survey, 54% of all working Americans think it will be essential to develop new skills throughout their working lives; among adults under 30 the number goes up to 61%. Another survey, conducted by Manpower in 2016, found that 93% of millennials were willing to spend their own money on further training. Meanwhile, employers are putting increasing emphasis on learning as a skill in its own right.

Bitcoin Cash Markets Surge As the Pending Hard Fork Approaches The price of bitcoin cash (BCH) has been on a tear lately as network participants are steadily preparing for the upcoming hard fork. At the time of writing, the digital asset’s value is averaging $495 USD and currently commands the second highest cryptocurrency trade volume in the world. Also read: Swiss Vocational School Lucerne University Accepts Bitcoin for Tuition Bitcoin Cash Markets Over the past week, BCH markets have been pushing quite a bit of trade volume as the price has jumped above its long-standing $300 price range. Now with $879M in global trade volume stemming from exchanges like Bithumb, Hitbtc, and Bitfinex the price spike had surpassed $500 per BCH on November 1. Korean markets are taking the lion’s share of BCH volume as the South Korean won is capturing 57 percent of the market volume. Additionally, the price rise is taking place just before digital asset’s upcoming hard fork centered around fixing the Difficulty Adjustment Algorithm (DAA). On October 31, the Bitcoin ABC development team released its 0.16 source code which is hard fork ready for November 13th, 2017 at 2:06 PM GMT. The Korean won is dominating bitcoin cash markets by currency. Technical Indicators According to the one week chart, bitcoin cash markets have been experiencing a nice rally by capitalizing an upswing of 25 percent over the past three days. At the moment order books on Bitfinex and other popular exchanges show a solid foundation within the $375-450 range if bears drag the price down. However, markets look bullish as charts show the 100 Simple Moving Average is well above the 200 SMA which indicates markets could spike again after some consolidation. Bitcoin Cash markets surpass $500 on November 1, 2017. Looking at the 24-hour charts show the RSI is heading north, but the Stochastic oscillator shows overbought conditions which could mean bulls are just rearranging positions. If buyers push pressure higher ranges between $550-700 are obtainable, but traders will likely meet resistance between the two price points. Daily charts show BCH markets have climbed 15 percent during the end of October 31st into November 1st. Bitcoin Cash News & Community Sentiment Of course, bitcoin cash supporters are quite pleased with the price, and many traders believe it will continue to rise steadily. The reason for this is, there are a lot of people who think BCH might be a safeguard against the possibility that the upcoming Segwit2x fork may get messy. As the fork gets closer, the price has continued to head north gathering significant trade volume across global exchanges. Further, the BCH community seems pleased with the November 13 fork scheduled for the network which aims to fix the current DAA. In other BCH news the well known online merchant, Wikileaks Shop, has just announced to its Twitter followers it will accept BCH for Wikileaks merchandise. “Do you have bitcoin cash? You can now use it in our shop to support Wikileaks,” explains the store’s administrators. Another positive announcement this week came from the company Bitcoin Plug ATM, which plans to implement BCH in the firm’s Los Angeles-based automated teller machines (ATM). “We are excited to soon offer Bitcoin Cash at all of our Los Angeles BATM locations — Thank you General Bytes,” the ATM company details. The Verdict Overall BCH proponents are optimistic about the currency’s market value and hard fork going forward. A good majority of BCH enthusiasts, and the network’s developers believe the fork will be smooth and without issue. Further, every week new infrastructure and BCH support has been steadily growing which has built a solid foundation for this nascent network. Over the next two weeks with the Segwit2x drama taking place people in BCH should be well positioned. Bear Scenario: If BCH markets start to correct there should be a temporary floor within the $425-450 price territory. Further dips could bring the price to $375 where traders will find yet another foundation of support. Key levels to watch will be if BCH breaks the $475 and $400 zones which may lead to an additional sell-off. Bull Scenario: At the moment bulls have the reigns going forward as order books show there are just a few obstacles before smooth sailing upwards. Fibonacci trend lines at a 61.8 extension (golden ratio) show prices could reach $700 in the short term with some resistance in between. With enough buying pressure from that vantage point, bitcoin cash could touch all-time highs once again over the next few weeks. Where do you see the price of bitcoin heading from here? I haven't paid an ATM fee in over 10 years — and I can tell anyone how to stop paying them for good
Getty/Kevork Djansezian
ATM fees and overdraft fees continue to climb, averaging $4.69 and $33.38 respectively.
Bank fees can seem unavoidable, but there are ways to get around paying them.
The easiest way may be to find a bank that better fits your lifestyle.
I refuse to pay bank fees.
There's just something about paying to use my own money that I can't accept — and I don't think anyone should. Especially as a financial planner who has seen first hand how fees can devastate budgets, while adding billions to banks' bottom lines.
Bank of America, Wells Fargo, and JPMorgan Chase — the three biggest banks — raked in $6 billion in ATM and overdraft fees in 2015, according to an analysis by CNNMoney.
That amount could be even higher now, since bank fees are on the rise. Again.
ATM fees and overdraft fees climbed to record highs this year, averaging $4.69 and $33.38 respectively, according to a new survey from Bankrate. ATM fees are charged if you withdraw cash from an out-of-network ATM. An overdraft fee is tacked on anytime you pay a bill that exceeds your current account balance. In other words, if the bank has to spot you cash to cover your expenses, you're going to pay for it.
The fees can seem unavoidable, especially if you need cash in a pinch or have a bill that's due, but there are ways around it.
The easiest way to avoid paying bank fees is to switch banks.
Not all banks charge the same fees, and many banks offer completely free checking and savings accounts. If you're stuck in a cycle of paying too many ATM fees or overdraft fees, transferring your money elsewhere may be the simplest way to stop.
Sometimes, all it takes is choosing a conveniently-located bank so it's easy to visit an in-network ATM. Online-only banks — such as Ally or Discover Bank — reimburse for out-of-network ATM fees, so ditching the bank branch altogether and moving your banking business 100% online is another way to save on fees.
Overdraft fees are a bit trickier to stamp out, since switching to another bank won't fix the underlying budgeting issue of occasionally spending more money than you have. As many as 51% of accounts are charged an overdraft fee each month, according to a new analysis of over 1.5 million users from money management app MoneyLion.
It's possible to opt out of overdraft coverage completely, so unaffordable transactions are declined rather than processing and charging you a fee. Alternatively, some banks have lower overdraft fees, and others link your savings account to your checking account as a safety net.
Technology can help too. Dave, a new money tracking app backed by Mark Cuban, who told Business Insider's Frank Chaparro that he "got crushed by overdraft fees" in his 20s, aims to make overdraft fees a thing of the past by using machine learning algorithms to anticipate future expenses, and to make sure you have enough cash to cover them.
When choosing a new bank, make sure it fits your lifestyle.
Switching banks really isn't hard to do. Unlike credit cards, there's no penalty for opening and closing bank accounts. In most cases, you can open a new account online and fund it without ever setting foot inside a branch.
For years, I've used online bank Ally, which allows no-fee ATM withdrawals at any Allpoint ATM, plus up to $10 a month in reimbursement for fees paid at any ATM outside of the network. That covers at least two emergency withdrawals each month, which is more than enough for me. But your spending patterns may differ from mine.
Charles Schwab offers a great free checking account with unlimited ATM fee rebates and no foreign transaction fees. If you travel abroad a lot, that's a feature that will certainly pay off.
There's a free checking account for every lifestyle, and personal finance website NerdWallet has a helpful rundown of the best options. Banks make money in many different ways — there's really no reason for you to contribute to their profits by continuing to pay ATM and overdraft fees.
With so many banks out there, it's worth your time to make sure you can access your money for free when you need it.

Expert: Indeed, the young are tethered to a slumber land of no ideas or ideals. Shackled to the beasts of debt and endless consumer-rent-mortgage-fee-levy-tax-fine-surcharge-hidden add on Capitalism. They amble to the nearest Starbucks and find the plastic putrid world and shitty coffee essence safe, conformist, the place to snuggle in with Twitter-Snapchat-Instagram-Facebook-Spotify. Add to that the general malaise of wanting nothing to do with politics, and everything to do with hipster joker-a-second crap they have downloading and meandering through their apps, and we have a country of no serious thinking. Tapped into the spine of the controllers, the brain centers micro-processing the emotions of the dictators. Not to say the oldsters in US of A aren’t the same – ambulating in the grand isles of Costco and Walmart, and, yes, juiced up on a triple-shot foamy caramel latte. The faces of red-white-and-blue are the hollowed-out skulls of the zombie culture of wanting-getting-having-buying-discarding-paying it down through the ka-chang of the ever-present ATM. I worked hard as a social worker-case manager-breeder of anarchy with old and young, now the young, kids in care, state custody, plied by the champions of bureaucracy, who have some shekels and grants here and there to help them get way past the eight ball they are behind. Shuffled from foster home to foster home, many intersecting with the juvenile injustice system, and many bouncing from school to school, no foundations, no biological link to a put-together family, whatever that is these days in the land of ballooning debts and general anxiety disorder over the simple disparity of why the gap of accumulation of wealth is getting bigger and bigger. With fewer haves than can be imaginable, and mostly haves not wondering how each and every public service had now been captured by the MBA Gestapo and elite SS forces of financial felonies. That is the anxiety of the rebellious like me. Youth having to make a choice of learning how to weld metal for a living, at the community college, then hunkering down three to a room, or five to a living room. Rents are criminal, and available places for kids coming out of state foster custody are about as rare as a wild living trotting wolf in Wyoming. Kids go from state custody to homelessness . . . or variations on a theme . . . sometimes back to the very mothers or fathers that state bureaucracy yanked them from in the first place for heinous crimes. We play charades with these youth, with their minds, their dreams, their futures, their lives. We de-link ourselves from screaming at the top of our lungs – “The systems are broken, gone, because we let the billionaires and millionaires set policy, hold sway over states, cities, regions, denude all agency for a public commons, public good, public health, public economy and public investment track.” We have tuition debts in the hundreds of thousands per graduate student (AKA mark, sucker born every nano second, PT Barnum, yeah!) after a few years past the undergraduate degree. We have a beleaguered youth who know nothing but the logo-brand game, know nothing but what they might want on top of their triple-decker quadruple-supreme, triple-dipped seven-scoop ice cream Sunday. Conversations are about things, about stupid shows, about video games, about the nothingness, zilch of the inhumane celebrity-actor-musician-athlete culture. And, is it their fault, these Gen Z kids, when we have ball-and-chained their barely burgeoning lives and decades of future absurd toil to the whims of the murderous marketers and money mongers? I have youth who can’t hitch a ride on public transportation because it’s buggered up, runs one bus to the hour, or never makes it out to rural or suburban locales, and then they have to throw down for Lyft or Uber just to make it to their shit jobs where they are cogs . . . . I was just talking to them about how screwed up Uber is . . . “I didn’t even think about getting workers’ compensation,” John said. “Uber wasn’t paying for anything.” John knew what many drivers know: that Uber fights tooth and nail in courts and in front of labor boards from New York to California to classify its drivers as independent contractors, in part to avoid having to pay for workers’ compensation payouts to its more than 300,000 drivers, a workforce comparable to major employers like Home Depot and Target. . . . . or how rotten Google et al are The Highlands Forum doesn’t need to produce consensus recommendations. Its purpose is to provide the Pentagon a shadow social networking mechanism to cement lasting relationships with corporate power, and to identify new talent, that can be used to fine-tune information warfare strategies in absolute secrecy. Total participants in the DoD’s Highlands Forum number over a thousand, although sessions largely consist of small closed workshop style gatherings of maximum 25–30 people, bringing together experts and officials depending on the subject. Delegates have included senior personnel from SAIC and Booz Allen Hamilton, RAND Corp., Cisco, Human Genome Sciences, eBay, PayPal, IBM, Google, Microsoft, AT&T, the BBC, Disney, General Electric, Enron, among innumerable others; Democrat and Republican members of Congress and the Senate; senior executives from the US energy industry such as Daniel Yergin of IHS Cambridge Energy Research Associates; and key people involved in both sides of presidential campaigns. Other participants have included senior media professionals: David Ignatius, associate editor of the Washington Post and at the time the executive editor of the International Herald Tribune; Thomas Friedman, long-time New York Times columnist; Arnaud de Borchgrave, an editor at Washington Times and United Press International; Steven Levy, a former Newsweek editor, senior writer for Wired and now chief tech editor at Medium; Lawrence Wright, staff writer at the New Yorker; Noah Shachtmann, executive editor at the Daily Beast; Rebecca McKinnon, co-founder of Global Voices Online; Nik Gowing of the BBC; and John Markoff of the New York Times. … or how felonious Amazon has always been, continues to be, and will forever be a curse to all humanity if we do not just stop using it, and taking the big guy to tax court, like the courts of Inquisition taking youth to court if they fudge on their housing subsidy, or the court of Scarlet Letter for daddies in arrears for child support . . . . Yep, I try and tell the Latte Lads and Lasses that Amazon is the criminal enterprise, maximum security vanguard of all bad things . . . . As Amazon spreads around the world selling everything and squeezing other businesses that use its platform, is Jeff Bezos laughing at humanity? His ultimate objective seems to preside over a mega-trillion dollar global juggernaut that is largely automated, except for that man at the top with the booming laugh who rules over the means by which we consume everything from goods, to media, to groceries. Crushing competitors, history shows, is leads to raising prices by monopolizers. Consumers, workers and retailers alike must be on higher alert and address this growing threat. You have nothing to lose except Bezos’s tightening algorithmic chains. To start the conversation, you can wait for Franklin Foer’s new book out this September, titled World Without a Mind: The Existential Threat of Big Tech. Until then, a good substitute is his 2014 article in The New Republic, ‘Amazon Must be Stopped.’ I tell my youth to look into it, how the billionaires’ club is made up of perverts – hating man and woman kind, hating the poor, the downtrodden, and certainly hating foster youth or recovering adults, and the homeless, and the working poor looking for a decent clinic to set a broken bone from working like slaves for these millionaires and billionaires. Our youth are prime victims of agnotolgy – the deliberate erasing of facts, truths, beliefs, but truly, history. The Jewish Nakba scrubbing. Holocaust deniers in Zion, and the new Zion, the American continent. How Canadians know nothing of their own terrible rape and murder of first nations peoples . . . their support of African despots . . . their terrible homegrown devils of international mining and arms sales . . . . Agnotology, the Two Minutes of Hate, a la Orwell, the fabricated Emmanuel Goldstein. Youth who know nothing of North Korea, of Vietnam, of any of the truths of their own womb . . . truths scrubbed by schools, by the controllers, facilitated by the Media and Publishing, and consumed by overworked, overwrought parents. Youth that hate government but love the big boys and girls running roughshod over our-their own survival: the business class. I find it interesting that Ralph Nader goes on an attack of Just Jeff Bezos (Amazon dot conned) without footnoting his piece that ALL the Fortune 1000 captains (Goose-stepping toward the vaults of shekels) of industry-finance-military-real estate-technology-media-energy are dirtier than the Mafioso, dirtier than any El Chapo, dirtier than any den of pimps and pornographers. Is there a clean, good one on the lists below? And think of the investments, the power these people wield to determine global financial-military-cultural future: Bill Gates: $86.0 billion,  United States, Microsoft Warren Buffett: $75.6 billion, United States, Berkshire Hathaway Jeff Bezos: $72.8 billion, United States, Amazon.com Amancio Ortega: $71.3 billion, Spain, Inditex, Zara Mark Zuckerberg: $56.0 billion, United States, Facebook Carlos Slim: $54.5 billion, Mexico, América Móvil, Grupo Carso Larry Ellison: $52.2 billion, United States, Oracle Corporation Charles Koch: $48.3 billion, United States, Koch Industries David Koch: $48.3 billion,United States, Koch Industries Michael Bloomberg: $47.5 billion, United States, Bloomberg L.P. Or the entire DNA strains of the World’s Richest Families, they any better than Jeff Bezos and Monopoly Amazon? That’s the rub is it not, that the poverty my youth suffer, the poverty I suffer, all these shell games played with our social right: national health care; real social security; public schools and colleges; libraries for the people; banks of the states; water, air, land, food, press/journalism part of the public commons; the right to a roof over your head and a light bulb and plate of slop and a flicker of heat in the dead of winter; the vast collective right of nature to persist, excel, and evolve. This country is set ablaze by the entire Little Eichmann and Big Himmler and Ugly Zionist and Crusader logic of pain and theft. My small charges, 16 to 21, are caught in a web of psychological-physiological-economic-educational-medical-spiritual deception, and they have nothing to turn to than the ebbing and flowing corpuscles created by the generators of multi-syllabic, three dozen hyphenated things they consume, all nano-particled and sliced and diced with the magic of the chemical still. We have kids with ticks, kids with obesity-lethargy-lingering intelligence and cognition. We have children who are the essence of the Stanley Milgram experiment on obedience, except his was an experiment on authority, lab coats and Yale basement authority, whereas today, the Milgram experiment is fluid, directly wired into Facebook-Google-Anything Digital. Today, youth and the old are kettled to consumer and be all they can be based on a giant interstellar Madison Avenue-PsyOps experiment to lobotomize-confuse-disassociate-deny humans in this country. Imagine, no rebellion, no running through the streets, no daily Molotov’s thrown into the limos and onto the doorsteps of the millionaire and billionaire murderers. Milgram examined justifications for acts of genocide offered by those accused at the World War II, Nuremberg War Criminal trials. Their defense often was based on “obedience” – that they were just following orders from their superiors. The experiments began in July 1961, a year after the trial of Adolf Eichmann in Jerusalem. Milgram devised the experiment to answer the question: Could it be that Eichmann and his million accomplices in the Holocaust were just following orders? Could we call them all accomplices?” (Milgram, 1974). These finance-foisting, tax-robbing, war-creating, debt-inducing, human/child/ecosystem-sacrificing pigs are given more than a trillion get out of jail cards. They are running things, playing editor like Jeff Bezos, ruining everything like Mr. PayPal – My joke about Thiel’s “Brownshirt Combinator” isn’t as funny now, is it? ‘Transition Adviser Peter Thiel Could Directly Profit From Mass Deportations’: Palantir Technologies, the data-mining company co-founded by billionaire and Trump transition adviser Peter Thiel, will likely assist the Trump administration in its efforts to track and collect intelligence on immigrants, according to a review of public records by The Intercept. Since 2011, the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency’s Office of Homeland Security Investigations has paid Palantir tens of millions of dollars to help construct and operate a complex intelligence system called FALCON, which allows ICE to store, search, and analyze troves of data that include family relationships, employment information, immigration history, criminal records, and home and work addresses. […] Working closely with a president-elect who has pledged to dramatically expand ICE, Thiel’s varied connections to the immigration agency place him in a position to potentially benefit financially from a deportation campaign that carries highly personal stakes for millions of Americans. […] In addition to containing information on family relationships and immigration history, the records FALCON collects can also include photographs of subjects, employment information, educational background, and “geospatial data.” […] Last month, it was reported that Trump and his advisers are drafting plans to launch a campaign of workplace raids across the country to find undocumented immigrants. With a mandate to enforce laws relating to unauthorized employment, HSI has been identified as the primary component within ICE that conducts such job-site raids. This past October, after a lengthy investigation, HSI agents raided several Mexican restaurants in Buffalo, New York, arresting more than a dozen workers, some of whom were charged with criminal counts of “illegal re-entry,” raising an outcry from immigrant advocates. In 2013, after an HSI raid on carwashes in Phoenix, more than two dozen immigrants were reportedly sent to Enforcement and Removal Operations officers for possible deportation. ICE can conduct such raids even in so-called sanctuary cities that have refused to allow local law enforcement to cooperate with ICE in finding and removing undocumented immigrants. […] Palantir, which is backed by the CIA’s venture capital arm, did not respond to a request for comment regarding its ICE contracts and concerns over potential conflicts of interest. Peter Thiel spokesperson Jeremiah Hall declined to comment on a list of emailed queries, including a question asking whether Thiel has yet signed the Trump transition ethics agreement. While Ralph Nader is huge in so many ways, and I worked for his campaigns and was lambasted by colleagues in journalism, education and the environmental movement, the real rub is how he at his wise age can even stomach ANYTHING the billionaire class says, does, and infers. His Utopian thing, Only the Super-Rich Can Save Us, was and is off the mark, big-time – In the cozy den of the large but modest house in Omaha where he has lived since he started on his first billion, Warren Buffett watched the horrors of Hurricane Katrina unfold on television in early September 2005. . . . On the fourth day, he beheld in disbelief the paralysis of local, state, and federal authorities unable to commence basic operations of rescue and sustenance, not just in New Orleans, but in towns and villages all along the Gulf Coast. . . He knew exactly what he had to do. . . So begins the vivid fictional account by political activist and bestselling author Ralph Nader that answers the question, “What if?” What if a cadre of super-rich individuals tried to become a driving force in America to organize and institutionalize the interests of the citizens of this troubled nation? What if some of America’s most powerful individuals decided it was time to fix our government and return the power to the people? What if they focused their power on unionizing Wal-Mart? What if a national political party were formed with the sole purpose of advancing clean elections? What if these seventeen superrich individuals decided to galvanize a movement for alternative forms of energy that will effectively clean up the environment? What if together they took on corporate Goliaths and Congress to provide the necessities of life and advance the solutions so long left on the shelf by an avaricious oligarchy? What could happen? America is a country of the dead. As is Israel, and note that not ONE cute-real-serious-well-acted-poorly- acted movie about the perfect Milgram subjects – Israelis – has ever been made, produced, shown on the Media, one clearly hoisted by Zionists – in some of their own words, as Gilad Atzmon lends some weight to this, In his recent address to the ultra-Zionist and war-mongering Stand With Us, Alan Dershowitz said, ‘People say Jews are too powerful, too strong, too rich, we control the media, we’ve too much this, too much that and we often apologetically deny our strength and our power. Don’t do that!’ Elder Zionist Dershowitz who acquired for himself the reputation of a “remarkable liar” (Chomsky) and a “serial plagiarist” (Finkelstein) probably decided, just before he meets his creator, to give truth one last try. In our world, no one can deny that Jews are “too powerful,” “too rich” or that they “control the media.” Yet no one can ignore that Jews themselves are rarely apologetic about their extensive and overblown power. In fact, as with Dershowitz, most Jews tend to boast about the various facets of Jewish domination and, while boasting, use every trick in the book to silence anyone else who points to that power. As I have been arguing for several years, Jewish power is the ability to suppress the discussion on Jewish power. Actually, Dershowitz’ approach here is rather refreshing. He admits that Jews are overwhelmingly powerful yet insists on presenting a rationale as to why Jews should never apologize about this overbearing and abusive power. ‘WE (the Jews, presumably) have earned the right to influence public debate, WE have earned the right to be heard, WE have contributed disproportionately to success of this country.’ One may wonder who is included in that ‘WE’ that has contributed so much to the ‘success’ of America. Is he referring to his client and close friend Jeffrey Epstein who pimped under-aged girls for the elites? Does Dershowitz’ ‘WE’ include Alan Greenspan who led the country to class genocide? Or perhaps his ‘WE’ denotes all those Wall Street Jewish bankers, like the Goldmans, the Sachs and the Soroses – those who, on a daily basis, gamble on the American future and the global economy. And almost certainly, Dershowitz’ ‘WE’ includes Haim Saban and Sheldon Adelson who have managed to reduce American politics into merely an internal Zionist affair. These are daunting times, the entire globe sucked of its telephone calls, its computer messages, all the uploads and downloads, every human individual defecation and urination and climax cataloged in these nuclear-powered cloud servers. Battened down, these surveillance hatches. Young people are now the cows, bred to follow the orders of Old Navy and any new shiny merchant of duncery and death; to pay for their cell phones, diligently, to pay-pay-pay for the poisons going into their brains and bellies. They are taught to not question or to not rebel, or to not just sit down and start a ruckus. Daily, the power of corrupted commercialization is like s drug resistant tuberculosis eating at our next and our next generation’s soul. Until there is no resistant antinode or antibiotic to stop the final solution drawn through the elaborate algorithms of controllers – massive forgetting, massive insanity. These demigods — the monopolies — supplying every microgram of humanity’s needs, now that we are sealed in this fate of capitalism – addicted to goods and services unnecessary, and willing to watch all good and common needs vanish with each new libertarian sucking the blood from us all like the vampires and nematodes of the capitalist elites. http://clubof.info/
