Sorry for the double post with a similiar picture but this fullbody was initially just a design test so I figured I'd use it as a reference sheet too! I've drawn Jenna a bunch, but I've never actually introduced her, so here's some info about her!!
--> JENNA
Dog alien + protomorph mix
She/her - 8'0ft | 2,4 m
She's a character I'm writing for fun, she's not supposed to fit the Alien lore.
Jenna (nicknamed Ring Pop sometimes) is a sweet and kind hearted xenomorph, she comes from a unique hive that doesn't work the way hives usually do so she doesn't attack humans or behave aggressively at all.
She can speak and enjoys upbeat music and all things pink and glittery.
Her story is set between 1990 and the early 2000's, she owns some tech from that period: for example a little pink portable radio and a phone with a sliding keyboard.
She often wears clothes, her outfits can be anything. She dresses sporty or casual usually, whatever doesn't limit her movements.
She enjoys jewelry too! Especially colorful and/or clear beads, big charms, rubber bracelets and accessories.
She's a very fast runner, athletic and a good climber. She has quite a lot of strength too, she isn't aggressive though so she doesn't fight.
Her nails, teeth and tail blade are made out of metal.
Her fur tufts are also made out of thin metal hair, her fur is very dangerous as it's easy to get cut. For that reason she doesn't allow people to touch it.
Her ears are purely aesthetic.
This is all! She's just a girlie in the end🎀

CARMEN SANDIEGO CHARACTERS + MOVIES
Boo I felt like making headcanons again bc I spend more time wondering what these assholes do in their free time than I do on my job
CARMEN
Didn’t have access to movies growing up so Player, Zack, and Ivy have been catching her up on the most popular ones
HORRIBLE to watch with. Doesn’t really understand “suspension of disbelief” as a concept and will ask stupid questions the whole time. Player almost ended their friendship because she nitpicked Lord of the Rings for being “unrealistic”
Enjoys low stakes 2000s girl chick flicks like mean girls and legally blonde. She has enough stress in her life man she just wants to relax
HATES heist movies because of how innacurate they are. Team Red has taken to watching them JUST to hear her pick them apart
PLAYER
Sci-fi/fantasy junkie. Anything and everything that has aliens/magic and shitty practical effects from the 80’s/90’s he is all over
Has never said a single kind thing about the Star Wars franchise in his life. They are his favourite movies of all time
ADORES Edgar Wright and has slowly been converting Team Red to his movies. Zack loved Baby Driver. Ivy loved Shaun of the Dead. Shadowsan loved Hot Fuzz. He considers Scott Pilgrim the pinnacle of Canadian cinema
Cannot STAND the amount of remakes happening in Hollywood recently
ZACK
Canon enjoyer of blockbuster action movies. Everyone dreads the nights when he gets to choose a film bc his taste is so generic
Does not know what the Snyder cut is. Thank god
His only redeeming quality is a love of early dreamworks. Will not stop quoting Madnagascar
Has seen every Marvel movie and thinks all of them are good. Player has BEGGED him to watch better movies but he won’t. He’s the type to rag on Scorsese for being “boring”
Has seen Kevin Feige’s extended filmography. Does not know who that man is
IVY
Horror fanatic
Banned from choosing movies for film night after convincing them to watch her “favourite lesbian romcom” with her. That lesbian romcom was Saw
Ellen Ripley was not only her personal hero but also her gay awakening. The Xenomorph queen was her second gay awakening
Also loves period dramas. Enjoys the tiddies and knows she would look SO good in those fancy waistcoats the men wear
Watches old slashers with Carmen and laugh whenever someone dies in a stupid way
SHADOWSAN
Faculty considered movies “low brow entertainment so he hasn’t seen a movie made before the year 2000
Loves a good mob flick. Got into Scorsese specifically because Zack hated him. Goodfellas is his favourite
Everyone assumes he enjoys samurai movies but he actually HATES them. Hideo would ramble about historical inaccuracies the whole way through and he’s still bored just thinking about it
Used to love Yakuza films back in the day but they were soured for him after actually living as one
Loved Knives Out, found Daniel Craig VERY attractive, and has since fallen down the James Bond rabbit hole
CHASE
The most pretentious film hack you’ve ever met in your life. He is taking you to a back alley screening of some arthouse eastern european gay porn on a first date and it will be the most profound thing you’ve ever seen in your life
Detective noir movies and cheesy black and white romances are his favourites. He likes falling asleep to them
He and Player both appreciate animation as a form of cinema, but while Player is referring to like. the Mario movie, Chase is talking about some 3 minute Russian stopmotion surrealist piece from 1951. He attends Annecy every year and has been banned from the Oscars due to threats of violence
He likes Poirot tho. Transmasc king
JULIA
If she has a few hours to herself she’d rather watch a documentary than go to a movie theatre, but she loves historical dramas
Enjoys biopics but thinks it’s stupid to make them for people who are alive
Likes watching movies for the sake of trash talking them, so she is the only person who can tolerate sitting through one with Carmen
LOVES Wes Anderson though. Chase got her into his stuff and the symmetry scratches an itch in her brain. But don’t tell him that
Also enjoys period dramas for the tiddies
CHIEF
Shitty cop movie enjoyer. The kind of person who insists that Die Hard is her favourite christmas movie
LOVES heist movies because of how inaccurate they are. Will mentally nitpick whatever secret service is going after them and be like “ACME wouldn’t do that lol”
She’s semi aware that she’s the antoagonist in Carmen’s own heist narrative so she’s started having fun with it
Closet lover of b-tier comedy movies. Like the ones with Adam Sandler and Kevin Hart on the cover
Does not enjoy watching movies socially. That is quality time for her and her cat. She does not have to shush Commander

Hello! If it's okay to request/ask, A transformers animated request. TFA Autobots x Human Reader, can be Romantic/Platonic
Reader, A very normal human, who keeps moving out, every time they get to a city/town/place, because of different species of aliens keep appearing (Yautjas, xenomorphs, anodites, friendly ones, hostiles, neutrals, etc.) and they either befriended it and/or deal with it
They also have albums or pieces of stuff that's given or dedicated to or from their alien friends and they've been visited by their alien friend(s) and sometimes with Alien's friends/family
Now, this is an interesting request. Thank you for the request dear anon, here is the transformers animated x human reader that you requested
Note: this can be read as romantic or platonic, but I wrote this with platonic in mind
TFA Autobots with a Human Reader that's friends with a lot of aliens
Finally, after moving out of your last place, you can finally get a break from aliens. Don't get you wrong, you liked your alien friends...but, sometimes, it's a bit exhausting meeting aliens every time you moved.
Thankfully you managed to get a long deserved break in Detroit. Sometimes, your alien friends visit, and you welcome then with open arms into your apartment.
You thought you weren't going to see another alien again...that is, until one day, you were out getting groceries and saw the alien outside...with alien robots... "Fuck." You muttered under your breath as one of the robots get you out of the way
Optimus Prime
Tumblr media
When you first told Optimus that you've befriended aliens before after you had gotten to know the Autobots, he was a bit inclined to believe you
That was, until you showed him your photo album filled with photos of you and your alien friends/family
To say he was shocked was an understatement
He was curious by the aliens you called your friends, and asked you questions about what species they were. He had only read about some of them back on Cybertron, but most were unfamiliar to him
Admittedly, he kinda wanted to see them up close.
He didn't anticipate that his wish would come true
Optimus stared at the creature infront of him - well, alien infront of him.
Optimus couldn’t believe the sight. You were talking with an alien— well, another alien — as if it was the most normal thing in the world.
He’d never admit it outloud but he felt himself jump slightly as you introduced him to your alien friend, trying to ignore the immense staring from it(them?)
Eventually, he gets used to your alien friend(s) as they visit more often. He even befriends some of them himself!
Of course, he’s still wary sometimes but he’s on friendly terms with them
Your alien friends are, in turn, also friendly with him, and don’t dislike him at all
Ratchet
Tumblr media
Ratchet didn’t believe at all when you first told him. He just thought you’d gotten crazy
To say his jaw dropped when you actually showed him evidence was a complete understatement
He didn’t think you had actually befriended some of the aliens, even making some of them family. He’s seen a lot through his life but this, this was the first time he’d ever seen it
He recognized some of the species you had befriended, he’s seen his fair share of aliens too during his time. Because of that, he’s bewildered yet again when you say you’ve befriended one of the dangerous ones.
Safe to say, you’ve earned his respect
When he first saw one of your alien friend’s visiting, he was alarmed at first
It was the middle of the night. The others had already slipped into recharge, and the only one awake was Ratchet. The gurmpy medic thought he was alone as he worked in the medbay, grumbling about how untidy it was after Bumblebee had messed it up.
Then, he heard a loud thud and an undescribeable sound. His electro magnets pop out of his forearms, incase of self defense
He walked out of the medbay, looking around until his optics landed on a shadowy figure. He prepared himself as the figure walked out the shadows. However, he quickly came to a realization when the figure - ahem, alien, fully became visible.
He let out a sigh. Your friends really needed to pick a better time to visit.
Your alien friends and family didn’t like him at first, due to him scolding them each time they visited in the middle of the night. But eventually, they grew to respect him when they realized he simply cared for you - in his own grumpy way
He also grew to respect your alien friends and alien family, as they genuinely cared for you
He isn’t friends with them, but he is on okay terms with them
Prowl
Tumblr media
Prowl, like Optimus, he was inclined to believe you when you first told him
He’s read about a few alien species, as Yoketron most likely taught or told him about some, and while a few you mentioned were friendly, the other most were not that friendly
You managed to convince him after you showed him your photo album
He asked you question after question, wanting to know more about the aliens you grew to think of as friends and family
He found himself wanting to talk to them. He only saw your bond with them through the photos you showed him, but he could tell you all were close
His wish came true after you introduced him to your alien friends
You watched as Prowl and your alien friend talked animatedly. Prowl was clearly curious behind that visor, and was asking your alien friend questions left and right.
Thankfully, your alien friend didn’t seeme to mind - actually they looked like they were enjoying answering the Autobot’s questions
You couldn’t help but smile as they continued to talk. It warmed your heart to see them getting along so smoothly.
Your alien friends and family like Prowl. He’s respectful with his questions, good mannered, and has a kind demeanor. He’s definitely their favorite
Prowl’s on very good term with them, as they sedate his curiosity by answering his questions
He’s friends with some of them and is on very great terms on them
Bulkhead and Bumblebee
Tumblr media
Bulkhead and Bumblebee were very fascinated when you told them you had alien friends and even alien family
They’ve never read about other aliens, let alone seen one themselves - so when you show them your photo album their optics light up like kids in candy shops
Bumblebee is pointing out things left and right and chatting your ear off, very eager to know more about these cool aliens
Bulkhead’s also pointing some things, but he’s more meek and shy as he asks you questions
When they actually meet them, they’re definitely looking at them with sparkles in their optics
You let out a sigh as you watch Bumblebee chat off one of your alien friends ear off, their annoyance evident.
Thankfully, Bulkhead wasn’t as bad as Bumblebee, as he was shyly asking questions - to which, your other alien friend happily answered.
You were just glad they hadn’t annoyed them. Though you can tell Bumblebee’s stepping on thin ice
Your older alien friends definitely take up the roles of the auncles. Teaching Bulkhead and Bumblebee all about their culture, fighting techniques, and teaching them other things that they were tuaght during their youth aswell
Most of them are on good terms with Bulkhead, as the gentle giant’s demeanor was often endearing to them
Bumblebee’s on thin ice but they endure him for you

That Omega Ridley vs Sauron (the Marvel character, yes the guy who turns people into dinosaurs) poll in the Metroid tag (a bunch of pages back now) reminds me of how at some point when I didn't know much about Metroid, I thought, because of his relatively mundane human name, that Ridley had been human once. Basically that he was this Mad Scientist type character (not exactly incorrect, but more so) who had used himself as a test subject a liiiittle too much, and now he looks like this. But no, turns out he just. is a space dragon, because that's a normal sapient extraterrestrial species in this series, and honestly that's even better. As for the name,
The serious, semi-TragicBackstory hc: It's a translation of his original name, which is unpronounceable to most other species, and might also just be what the Federation knows him as, while he and the other Pirates call him a related word in their own language(s). Ridley spent his early childhood as a feral little critter in the wilderness of Zebes, mostly the surface and shallow caves, which are not exactly known as an environment the most hospitable to life. He presumably had biological parents, but by the time he hatched they were nowhere to be found, so he raised himself from birth (and he turned out fine!). "Ridley" as a name derived from Old English means "reed clearing" or "cleared land", but he's been around for a while and his name has gone through several languages and a few broken-telephone mutations along the way, starting out with a meaning closer to "empty/barren land". Sometimes people are named after their parents, Ridley named himself after the only one he had.
The funny hc: Ridley's name is an Alien reference in-universe, too. Assuming Metroid takes place in the future of our universe, that would probably mean all real-life media other than Metroid itself exists there, and, well, Ridley just really likes Alien. The xenomorph was his first crush (they look like him!). But he figured it would be less embarrassingly obvious if he picks something like the movie's director's name instead ("Sigourney" was a close second, but a little too traceable to the source).
Also space dragon called Ridley is just the reverse of human trans people deliberately naming ourselves things not usually considered to be names.

I'm thinking about maybe trying to write a first draft of The Night the Stars Went Out this month - specifically as a stageplay rather than a novella, which made me think about how to structure it so it could theoretically be performed in, like, a black box theater with minimal sets and a cast of, like, six or seven actors tops.
BUT ALSO, simultaneously, how I could then adapt that stageplay to a stop motion movie, since I haven't made one of those in like... over ten years. I wanna do stop motion again!
So I did some more experimental sketches of Paris (site), some with the intent of how to translate her to a human costume, and some with a stop motion puppet in mind. I also tried to give her an equivalent of those weird tubes Xenomorphs have on their backs just to see how it'd look - I'm probably going to cut them, though, working those weird tubes/wings just feels like a needless pain in the ass.
I then tried to design the creature she'd chest-burst out of at the beginning of the play - something big and monstrous that could ultimately work as a simple puppet given its small role in the play, but still look sufficiently alien in a 1960's creature feature way. Very late into it I had the idea that the hatch built into its humps for Paris to burst out of could be shaped vaguely like a clamshell, and thus Paris's entrance into the show could homage the Birth of Venus in a twisted way.
I also wanted to figure out what kind of flora we could put on the scenes set on the surface of the alien planet to match the wild-ness of the two aliens fauna on display - I decided all the plants should look like the psychosexual nightmares of a person who spent far too long looking at anatomy textbooks, as H.R. Giger would have wanted.
Finally, I tried to figure out what faceplates a Paris puppet would need. She doesn't need to do lip synch, but some basic expressions would be required, as would a few to transition from her normal face to her "I'm going to bite your head off" monster mouth.

It Drinks Light: The Origins of the Xenomorph and LoadingReadyRun's Heat Death
Tumblr media
In previous drafts of this essay I spent paragraphs outlining my love of the Alien films, defending Alien 3 and Resurrection, and using that to lead into why you would enjoy an Alien RPG actual play series called Heat Death. But I just spent a lot of money on a tattoo that I think will speak to my bona fides:
Tumblr media
I like the Alien franchise. I like Geiger’s xenomorph, I like the clunky cassette futurism imagined in those 80’s movies. It feels increasingly like a much needed antidote to modern digital interfaces, and the maddeningly undefiled aesthetics of the corporate digital age.
But after I saw Prometheus and then Covenant it became very apparent to me that Ridley Scott isn’t interested in the parts of the universe that I am interested in. Or at least, his answers to those questions aren’t particularly satisfying.
There are some good things in those movies, don’t get me wrong. The moment when the two Michael Fassbenders have flute lessons is some of the gayest shit in the series, right alongside Ripley and Call having come good ol’ fashioned knife play in Resurrection.
Tumblr media
The prequels also continue the theme established in the first few movies that the whims of the rich and powerful will doom us all in general, and the people who work for them specifically. Their corporations are shown time and again to be fundamentally opposed to human flourishing. True as it ever was.
But that’s kinda it for me.
The question at the heart of these prequels is “Where did the xenomorph come from?” to which they answer:
Some sort of chemical weapon or tool synthesized by tall aliens called engineers for ambiguous purposes. Millenia later this was discovered and hijacked by a singular android of human design, flawed in all the ways its creator was flawed. Some iterations and experiments later we get the xenomorphs we recognize.
Admittedly there may be more nuance than that. But as far as I can tell any further details are all muddled in cut content and unskilled storytelling.
Ultimately, according to the prequels thus far, the xenomorph is something we did to ourselves.
That is not a particularly engaging answer to me. I don’t really care about how the titular alien came to be. I don’t need to see the engineers, or the origins of the space jockey. I liked it when it felt like that tall alien was merged with the cockpit, when it looked like one organism, a new and novel form of life from another evolutionary path completely unlike our own.
And if you feel the same, I have something to recommend to you.
Heat Death is an actual play series made by the Canadian comedy/streaming troupe LoadingReadyRun in 2020 as part of their Dice Friends series. They did 6 episodes where Cameron, the GM, leads 4 players through their own scenario in the official Alien RPG.
And it’s one of the best Alien stories I’ve ever seen.
Tumblr media
Cameron provides much more interesting answers to the questions Ridley Scott keeps asking, and in a method that compliments the familiar set up of Alien films. A typical day in the life of spacers is interrupted by a combination of corporate malfeasance and/or the existence of the xenomorph.
The setup of Heat Death is thus: The crew of the research vessel Ludomia, our PC’s and NPC’s for the series, wake up on a strange and grandiose space station called New Eden. Their vessel is missing, the rest of their crew is missing, and they have no idea where they are. They seek answers, they seek escape, and they try to figure out what was happening here hidden in the shadows of space.
And in typical Alien fashion, it all goes to hell.
Part of the reason the series works so well for me is because the GM has a background in the sciences. This helps when the characters are confronted with the truly alien things they find. I am an amateur appreciator of things like biology and astronomy ,and so there is just enough detail to make me feel like I know what’s happening, but also enough unfamiliar jargon that I feel an appropriate sense of awe and dread. Cameron doesn’t talk down to his audience or his players, he describes the world in ways that would make sense to the character’s point of view, and offers explanations and details when prompted.
The xenomorph’s biology is described as being reminiscent of Teflon, an immediately startling non sequitur.
Tumblr media
The primordial black goo from the prequels is described as incredibly hazardous to human beings through exacting technical terminology. It makes it seem real and dangerous. In the prequels it always felt flat and… out of place.
Tumblr media
I like Heat Death because Cameron and the players are actively investigating the question of the origins of the xenomorph without limiting the possibility space. It’s not a closed loop that begins and ends at LV-426 with the space jockey and its ship. Instead we see a possible answer to what is waiting for us in the stars, a galactic ecology that we have stumbled into and are ill-equipped to handle. It makes the machinations of Weyland-Yutani seem even more feeble and doomed.
Tumblr media
It also works so well because the players are all in on it. They lean into the themes of the franchise, of roughnecks who shoot first, of commanders in over their head, and corporate representatives quietly manipulating things to their own end. There’s no power gaming or looking to get the upper hand or finding an optimal path to survival. They see the awfulness coming and they don’t look away.
There’s more that I could recommend about this series, but I run the risk of giving away too much. There’s the poetic introductions to each episode that give breadth to the fiction. The investigations of different bits of lore and tech, from faster than light travel to how synthetics work. But I guess I’ll end by going over all the players and their characters.
First there’s Commander Roman Moritaka, played by Ian, who I think more than anyone leans into the doomed nature of the storytelling. Ian is always ready to make the obvious mistake and try to do the most reasonable thing in an unreasonable situation. One of my favourite moments in the game comes from Roman making telemetry calculations. How many AP’s do you know that bother with the drama of rocket science?
Then there’s Clinton Barker played by Alex, a colonial marine who thinks in equipment and utility, and has no time for metaphor or theory. Alex is also obviously an Alien fan and someone who knows military tech and lingo, which lets him launch into interesting asides and funny anecdotes that punctuate the story.
Tumblr media
There’s Gregory Sinclair Jr., the corporate liaison played by Cori. He is a perfect mix of uselessness and cold corporate comfort. Cori plays him relentlessly, a perfectly willing pawn right into the final moments of the final episode, and a constant needle in everyone’s side.
And then there’s Harris Schafer, played by Adam. Harris is a laid back academic and scientist, which makes them a great foil for the other characters and the perfect POV character to let us know just how bad things are, much like Adam himself. Adam is a great addition to the table, always willing to ask the basic questions and react in relatable ways.
I’ve already mentioned Cameron, and as GM he plays all the NPC’s with depth, and deftly cuts between scenes, heightening moments of tension and underlining moments of impending dread. His obvious writing ability is on full display. It feels like he loves this stuff. And in a way that Ridley Scott kinda doesn’t. Not in the same way. There’s curiosity and time and thought on display here, and I really appreciate that.
Tumblr media
And that’s it. You should watch it, especially if you like the alien series and the art of actual play. It’s good. It’s on Youtube and it’s on podcasts. Check it out. Let me know what you think. Recommend me some other Alien fanfiction.
And if you would have liked to have read this earlier, or would like more essays and stuff like this, kick me a couple of bucks on Patreon. If folks like this sort of thing, I may do more essays. Heck, I'll probably do them if you hate it.

how would the Hephaestus crew respond to the alien from alien being aboard? what about when SI-5 are there as well? asking because you probably know the crew better than most people(or at least know the most about eiffel :P)
they probably would not like that very much.
slightly more serious answer, i think that really depends if we're operating by the themes and rules of alien's universe, or wolf 359's. they're very different stories, and i'm not much of an AU person, so it's kind of a tricky thing to conceptualize, for me.
you could maybe frame it like a goddard training simulation? but they'd be bad at it. eiffel is too genre savvy to survive anything but a horror comedy; he's gotta be the first to go. hera's lack of physicality is maybe a strength against a very biological enemy, but if hilbert could just rip out her personality core, a xenomorph could deal with her easily. hilbert is the person who suggests they keep something they shouldn't "for research purposes." minkowski has experience hunting the plant monster, but she couldn't capture it, and it didn't even want to kill her. lovelace might stand a chance, but she won't be happy about the outcome. if the si-5 are there, kepler's convinced he's better prepared to deal with an alien encounter than anyone else, and makes things worse.
the si-5 can't be there, though, because the only wolf 359 character that could handle a xenomorph is the plant monster. that sounds like a joke answer, because it is, but it's also true. they have a godzilla-style showdown in the hallway while the crew hides around a corner, the plant monster wraps it up in its tendrils, swallows it whole, and digests it like a snake. eiffel and minkowski look horrified and then go to hilbert, who says something about how minkowski dousing the plant monster in acid must have increased its natural tolerance. and then they just have to live with the knowledge it can do that, and go on with their lives like normal.

Hello dear angle. I'm back with an ask that idk if it's wierd or not. Actaully I'm trying to start a fanfic about a civilizade xenomorph society and I'm turing everthing I like to these cute little parasites. So… I wanted to ask what do you think about an android Desmond with his three white xenomorph ancestors? I've read several comics and novels of alien and what I discovered was that xenomorphs were created to be a biological weapon. So I was thinking what if Desmond android was created by abstergo to controll the xenemorphs. He is like a queen to them because of the DNA they share. In this au the assassin-templair war is not still over. And even in the sky they are trying to take cotroll over the galaxy. What if Desmond works in one of abstergo's labs. Until he saw a xenomorph for the first time in his life. It was pure white with a strange looking mark on its forhead. Some thing about this mark was familiar to him which he didn't know why. The first time he saw it he felt a strong bond between them. He felt so safe around that monster. It felt like family. Like home. He put his hand on the glass. The creature came closer with curiosity and placed its hand where was desmond's. And suddenly something flashed before Desmond's eyes. A face. A man with white cloak that was standing there and staring at him in a kind smile. And then he was in the lab again. He stared at the monster and smiled. "Ezio. So it's your name."
I will leave it from here for you. I belive in you. You can turn this to a movie that worths watching. And mabey it's ezides? I love ezides fanfics and i don't know why. They're kinda apposite but still cute. Your blog is wonderful 🤩
(Thank you! While I cannot promise I can make this a movie worth watching, I will do my best to make this something monster fuckers would at the very least be curious about XD)
It’s not weird. I mean, I’m fine with weird ideas XD
Also, Alien is one of my favorite horror movies.
For this one, what if we just throw away Alien/Prometheus canon and spin this into another AU (mainly because this gives us an excuse to not use the canon explanation of white xenomorphs and the proto xenomorphs.
For this one, let’s set up Abstergo as being sorta in a decline after humanity decided to live among the stars. While they had been focused on profiting and trying to eradicate the Brotherhood, Weyland-Yutani slips pass them and became the juggernaut corporation that more or less controlled human settlements.
DESMOND was meant to be the prototype of an android line that should have exceeded everything Weyland-Yutani approved androids could.
But there were a bit of problem with DESMOND. For one, he appeared too cold, less expressive than the cheapest android and has a hard time understanding orders.
It was a failure.
So Abstergo had to pivot and create a new product. They manage to get samples of Weyland-Yutani’s ‘prized’ secret project and a basic ‘overview’ of what it’s meant to be.
Unfortunately, the samples didn’t have enough genetic information to complete their version and they thought, “Hey, you know what we have? The DNA sample of some dude that died during the 21st century! That might work!”
In their defense, the lead of the project, Dr. Vidic (relation to the late Warren Vidic is unknown), believed in this ‘rumor’ that Sample 17 is the golden ticket to Abstergo’s success. It was the key to the success of the Animus Project. Why not this project as well?
If the human DNA is unusable for this project, Sample 17’s Isu DNA might be what they needed.
For this one, they made three Prototypes to use for different ‘experiments’.
They were called Zero-One, Zero-Two and Zero-Three.
Zero-One is taken to the deepest part of the space station to be experimented on.
Zero-Two is kept in one of the more secured floors to be observed with limited ‘contact’.
Zero-Three is kept on stasis while Zero-One and Zero-Two are being ‘observed’. Once the observation period is over, Zero-Three will be eliminated and dissected to gather more data using what data they gathered from Zero-One and Zero-Two.
DESMOND has been turned into a messenger android, delivering devices and other items and acting similar to someone who takes picture of the person who took a package.
It was one of the few things it could do without having to be supervised the entire time.
It is during one of its delivery to Dr. Vidic that it sees Zero-Two.
There was something about Zero-Two that makes it feel something.
Makes him feel something.
Their first meeting ends with him calling Zero-Two ‘Ezio’.
His Ezio.
DESMOND starts visiting him whenever he has the chance.
And Abstergo sees this all.
Hard not to considering the floor Ezio is in is covered in surveillance tech.
Dr. Vidic thinks this is a good thing.
DESMOND can communicate with Zero-Two. With enough time, DESMOND can be used to control Zero-Two.
No.
Control an army of them.
So he takes DESMOND under his wing and starts to supervise the meetings.
The tried and true method of carrot-and-stick.
With DESMOND being the carrot.
During that time, the team in charge of experimenting of Zero-One fuck up big time.
Maybe they didn’t take in consideration the idea that Zero-One would use its acid blood to destroy its cage.
Maybe they underestimated Zero-One’s intellect and it manages to get them to open the cage by pretending to be sick or dead.
Whatever the reason will be, the end result is the same.
Zero-One kills the team that has been experimenting on it and starts to hunt down everyone in the Space Station.
During this time, Dr Vidic gets the idea of hunting Zero-One using Zero-Two.
And he does it by having DESMOND become bait because he knows Zero-Two will protect DESMOND.
He didn’t take in consideration that DESMOND’s connection might not be exclusive to Zero-Two alone.
So when DESMOND sees Zero-One, he sees him about to kill another Abstergo personnel. The personnel begged for help but DESMOND simply stood there.
Dr. Vidic thought (as he watched the feeds from a drone) that DESMOND is doing as ordered, to find Zero-One and to place himself in danger until Zero-Two gets to his position (Zero-Two has been fashioned with a device that would push a strong sedative inside him in a push of a button, deliberately placed in a part of his body that he cannot use his acid blood to dissolve it)
Zero-One kills the personnel and starts moving to DESMOND’s position on all fours. A predator slowly making its way to its next kill.
That’s when Dr. Vidic sees DESMOND take a step towards Zero-One and reach a hand.
Without any mirror, DESMOND touches Zero-One as he says, “Altaïr?”
“You want to kill them all? Okay.”
“… We can do that.”
.
Unorganized Notes:
They take Ratonhnhaké:ton out of stasis during Altaïr’s rampage and DESMOND stays with him because he hasn’t gotten used to moving yet and is the most vulnerable of the three.
Considering it’s me, I would suggest we just turn this into all three main couples (AltDes, EziDes, ConDes) for triple the ‘fun’.
They feel a connection to DESMOND because he is created to be a complete copy of Sample 17 with an android body. Technically, his ‘genetics’ is more or less in that ‘white fuel’ he creates himself and a bunch of 1s and 0s makes up Sample 17’s entire DNA.
In a more… ‘strange’ level, they feel a connection to DESMOND and DESMOND feels a connection with them because they’re the closest species to one another. Both created from Sample 17.
If you want smut in this one, well, they see DESMOND as their Queen and they have the instinct to mate with their Queen because Sample 17’s genetic code had a hardwired ‘order’ of needing to reproduce sexually. (to create Desmond Miles but the order is still there). Otherwise, they feel the need to protect DESMOND and to satisfy his every desire.
The xenomorphs take one more and more characteristics of the ‘target’ ancestor in terms of personality and habits. On the flipside, DESMOND starts acting more… ‘selfish’ the longer he stays with the three.
This would end with the space station succumbing to the xenomorphs but Dr. Vidic manages to send out an SOS before he dies.
This is the part where we can focus on developing DESMOND’s relationship with the xenomorphs (insert smut here if you want).
Then… an Abstergo rescue ship is pinged on the radar and… more cannon fodders as well as the possibility of finally leaving the space station.
The twist is there’s an Assassin aboard the rescue ship and this Assassin would get in contact with DESMOND and realize who he is based on because the Brotherhood never forgot Desmond Miles. (this gives us the chance to make this either (1) DESMOND and the xenomorphs joining the Brotherhood for a sorta morally gray good guys scenario or (2) they kill the Assassin and go on full on corrupted “the world against us” setup)

Alien Day
Host a movie marathon, read a graphic novel, or break out the Alien video games to honor Ridley Scott’s iconic and beloved science fiction franchise.
The alien creatures and environments were designed by the Swiss artist H. R. Giger.
Alien day is an awesome day to recognize and appreciate the fantastic world of the Alien(s) franchise. Beginning with the first film released in 1979 and spanning more than 40 years since, Alien (including the many films, books and games) has been an intense, unique and fascinating look into the question of whether other life exists in the universe.
Whether or not life exists elsewhere is exactly the kind of question that should be asked on Alien Day!
How to Celebrate Alien Day
For fans of the franchise, enjoying this day can be fairly simple or super extreme, depending on preference. Try some of these ideas:
Host an Alien Movie Marathon
With six different films in the franchise, watching them all sequentially could certainly take most of the day! But diehard Alien fans won’t mind! Watch the films in this order:
Alien (1976). Starring Sigourney Weaver as Ripley, this classic sci-fi horror film has certainly gained a cult following.
Aliens (1986). Reprising her role as Ripley, Sigourney Weaver is the sole survivor of the alien attack on her ship. This is considered by some as one of the best sequel films ever made.
Alien3 (1992). Again, with Weaver’s character as the sole survivor (along with alien life), she must try to survive.
Alien Resurrection (1997). Set 200 years into the future from the time the last film ended, this time Weaver is joined by Winona Ryder.
Prometheus (2012). A 15 year gap between these two films was a very long wait! This prequel stars Noomi Rapace and Charleze Theron, centering on the idea of finding the origins of humanity.
Alien: Covenant (2017). Another prequel, again with Michael Fassbender (who was also in Promethus) who plays an android.
Read Alien Books or Graphic Novels
Alien is more than just a series of films! It incorporates a whole host of written and illustrated books that provide even more interest and entertainment in the world of Alien. Many times, special releases of novels and comic books have been coordinated to align with Alien Day. So check out the local bookstore to see what new releases are available!
Play an Alien Video Game
Fans with a computer or mobile device can download Alien video games to their heart’s content! Beginning in 1982 (on that classic Atari game player, no less), the Alien brand began releasing its video games and has been continuing for many years.
Since then, they’ve also been playable on PC, XBox, Playstation, Gameboy and now mobile phones. The most recent video game in the franchise is Alien: Blackout, which was given away for free on Alien Day 2020!
Grab one at a local game shop or download it online to get started!
History of Alien Day
Alien Day was created by a Sci-Fi subculture of people who wanted to honor not only the Alien film series. The first “unofficial” Alien Day was celebrated in the spring of 2015 by a group of folks in Brooklyn, New York, USA.
The choice of the date itself holds meaning: 4/26 refers to the designation of the moon in the 1st Alien film: LV-426 is the name of the moon where the xenomorphs are discovered in the 1979 film by Ridley Scott.
Beginning in 2016, Alien Day commenced as a more official celebration when the maker of the Alien movies, 20th Century Fox, got involved with sponsoring events for the day. One of the events for that year was a trivia challenge that lasted an entire 24 hours. From midnight to midnight, Alien trivia questions were posted on Twitter every 42.6 minutes (a total of 35 questions) and prizes included collectibles and wearables related to the film.
2016 was a particularly important year because it was timed to coincide with the 30th anniversary of the release of Alien’s sequel, Aliens. However, rather than taking place on the exact day of Aliens’ release, the date was instead a reference to the planetoid on which the film is set — LV-426 (otherwise known as 4/26).
The idea of and hope for Alien Day is that more people around the world can learn about this great day and celebrate the wonderful world of Alien(s). And that continues to come true as Alien Day is now acknowledged and enjoyed by Sci-Fi fans all over the world!
Alien Day FAQs
Why is Alien Day on April 26?
Alien Day is held on 4/26 in a nod to LV-426, the name of the moon where the aliens were first discovered in the 1979 Ridley Scott film.
How are the Alien and Predator films related?
The spinoff film series, Predator, began in 1987, eight years after the release of the original Alien film and just a year following the second film. These two worlds originally met in a 1989 comic book series, Aliens vs. Predators, published by Dark Horse Comics.
The crossover films didn’t come out until more than a decade later, with Alien vs. Predator (2004) and Alien vs. Predator: Requiem (2007). None of the plots from the original Alien series references these crossovers.
What is the film Alien about?
In the future, a space crew responds to a distress call on a remote moon named LV-426. The crew discovers some strange eggs and when one attaches itself to a crew member  it eventually births the Xenomorph, a horrific and terrifying creature that is set for destruction.
Who directed each film in the Alien franchise?
With different directors for each film (except for the original director, Ridley Scott, who directed three), the Alien franchise creates an interesting look into what different directors choose to do with a story theme. Here’s a list of the directors that correlate with each film:
Alien (1979): Ridley Scott
Aliens (1986): James Cameron
Alien 3 (1992): David Fincher
Alien: Resurrection (1997): Jean-Pierre Jeunet
Alien vs. Predator (2004): Paul W.S. Anderson
Alien vs. Predator: Requiem (2007): Colin and Greg Strause
Prometheus (2012): Ridley Scott
Alien: Covenant (2017): Ridley Scott
What order should I watch the Alien movies in?
Of course, watching them in the order they were released makes perfect sense. However, since the Alien films tend to go back in time, it’s also fun to watch them in the actual order in which they occurred in this fictional universe:
Prometheus (2012)
Alien: Covenant (2017)
Alien (1979)
Aliens (1986)
Alien 3 (1992)
Alien: Resurrection (1997)
This, of course, doesn’t include the Alien vs. Predator spinoffs, which adds a whole other element to the story.

ALIEN ROMULUS
SPOILER WARNING
From Below the Cut
just want to say this is all my opinion but let's get into a rating from me lol
So overall I set a rating for Alien Romulus to a 8.5/10
This movie to me was great. there were a few drawbacks overall in which I feel took away from some of the horror elements in this movie like the amount of references to all of the other movies before it, and when I say all, I mean ALL of the movies both new and old
The thing about this movie is that I both hated and loved the fact that it was a mash up of every single alien movie before it, love in the fact that the tech was the same as the original movies (something people complained about in Prometheus) and that the original alien designs stayed the same in both looks and mannerisms
The thing I mainly disliked was the fact it was a mash up of every single movie, don't get me wrong some were really good and well done but others were kinda... cringe? In a way that you almost get second hand embarrassment from knowing them but in a laughing way
The actors I think did an amazing job and the general cinematography is great, it feels modern without taking away the old charm and tricks
The settings and placement of the general look and feel of everything was great with certain references to all movies and I believe even the game
Now I'm going to talk about the scenes in specific
just so everyone knows I'm not doing a summery I'm just talking about my favorite and or least favorite scenes
--
So in the beginning I just want to praise the use of the colony, an ALIVE colony I might add, and even though it's only a short part I do like the little insight you learn about the lives of the people and main characters, I also do like the clothes and lighting of these scene(s)
However in the beginning beginning aka the opening, they get transported fossilized rock and take it into research or whatever, not much is known other than the fact that the alien is back lol, it did kinda remind me of dead space with the artifact and it bringing the aliens along
And I think it was coolI also love the use of the androids in this film, with Andy being known as an android in the very beginning which proves to be useful later (Also I might add I do find the brother sister dynamic of the two bittersweet)
As for the facehugger scenes I absolutely loved them, I do think it was a little cliche with the whole body temperature thing and the fact that they couldn't see them because Andy said that if they sweat at all they kinda die and I felt like you would definitely sweat at that temperature especially with that stress but honestly it's kinda the nerd in me
However for the alien scene I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT I loved the use of a cacoon and the remembrance of acid for blood playing an important impact
I don't like the use of pressure in here I do feel like in space the pressure would definitely kill faster than it did/didn't but I appreciate the mention of it mainly in the ending scenes where her helmet is cracked and she didn't die? Maybe I need to catch up on space and pressure but idkkk anyway still the nerd in me
My favorite scenes were in the beginning they were walking down the halls and the lights was muahhh chefs kiss loved the tension and shot
I do genuinely like the lab part in the movie where the black liquid goop was shown as something good but was actually bad as seen with the rat transforming into its own thing
Because in the end although the Xenomorphic are parasites they are their own species in the end meaning they are going to be separate form whatever you put them in (idk if that made sense)
Now I will say I was a little hesitant when I realized in the end it was going to be a spin off of alien resurrection (aka alien 4) but I will say they did it amazingly
I do absolutely love their take of the human alien hybrid baby and the love the thing of the creature/baby eating its own mother like many species do and the creatures design is something that I will admit truthfully disturbed me the uncanny but also very human face and expressions made my skin chill a bit
I did not like the acid seen I feel like it could have been better
Final notes
--
I wrote this in my car directly after the movie so it's a little scatter brained but I needed to get it out lol
Okay truthfully that was all I really wanted to talk about I genuinely love this movie and thought it was great, and I will say that I'm just waiting for fanfiction of xenos of that one scene in the elevator where it caught Rain with it's tail, I feel as if people are going to eat that up 😂
Overall 8.5/10
Some cringey lines and scenes which are sooo obviously ripped from the past movies along with concepts but I think the movie was great and a fun time for sure
--
Also a thank you to @ozzgin for hyping the movie up for me 😆

G, I, Q, W for taea, ilya + vivienne!
thank you darling xoxo we love treats in this house and i've been spoiled <3 // oc asks: AU ABCs
G. gods. What would your OC be the god of? If they were a demi-god, who would their divine parent be?
ALATAEA – me @ me: look what you did. you fucked up a perfectly good demi-god. look at it, it has anxiety. genuinely though, i don’t even think taea is even a demi-god, i’d kind of put her into that tier of lesser gods that are technically immortal but Can still die (like greek nymphs, but make it celestial instead of natural). she’d be intrinsically linked to the moon cycle and celestial bodies and magic related to divination, all that mostly comes from her father, but her influence in and of itself is relatively small! her symbol would be the full moon surrounded by smaller stars i think <3
ILYA – goodness. the range he has. but i picture him best as an all-seeing god, truly omnipotent. he’s Ancient and knows the secrets of the universe, but such knowledge comes at a price, and there’s very little that’s hidden from his gaze but probably only so much he can access and share at any given time. his would be a power he ascended to, he was worthy of it so he took it for himself, or so he claims. his symbol would be something like the eye from the magnus archives tbh, something that follows you everywhere.
VIVIENNE – oh, its war. war and power and might. but not in decimating your foes, not truly, and certainly not violence. a goddess of war to defend all people from peril, to inspire and unite, to stand defiantly in the face of adversity. she would be a demi-god that rises to the status of a full fledged god, and it would be a curse more than a blessing, but it’s her duty to bear it. it has to be someone. i'm not sure for her symbol but i'm thinking almost atlas style holding up the world?
I. intellectual property. Are there any popular series or franchises that your OC is well-suited for? Which 'verse(s) and what makes them so well-suited?
(just gonna do one example per otherwise this will get so long lol)
ALATAEA – she’s rooted in d&d / baldur’s gate 3 so that’s definitely out but i think grishaverse would suit her well? the world has enough strife in it without it being extremely life threatening, but there’s still plenty of risk associated with being grisha. she would love the small sciences and exploring magic in that way. she wouldn’t be a sun/shadow summoner even though her main vibe is celestial bodies, so honestly i think being a durast would suit her well in terms of exploring new things to make and also.. purple robes…
ILYA – put this man in game of thrones. once upon a time he was built for the kind of scheming it takes to claim the iron throne and hold it. the kind of king that is both feared and loved, whose lineage is above reproach, and who has the kind of tactical mind to wage and win wars. he’d be out here 1v1’ing the night king and be back home in time to crawl into bed with his beautiful wife and tell her the sun will rise tomorrow, like he promised.
VIVIENNE – because i’ve been neck deep in it, i’m gonna say the alien franchise! sci-fi and still right up there in her ally for dealing with a dangerous threat that seems impossible to destroy. she’s out here studying it with professor mordin and having a running contest with wrex and grunt about who's killed more xenomorphs. i think the best thing that suits for this is the Company / Citadel link. an overarching authority she chaffs against because they want to use the xenomorph as a weapon, and if we look at alien: resurrection well there’s a pretty good connection to be had about vivienne dying to stop the spread of the alien threat and then being revived/cloned by Cerberus. now that i’ve thought about it I’m lowkey obsessed with it. fuck.
Q. quiet. What would a quiet and peaceful life look like for your OC? Would they enjoy living a simple life or would they get bored?
ALATAEA – please it’s all she wants and more. the perfect life for her is working in an observatory, making discoveries and learning something new every day. she’d have a garden for nocturnal flowers and someone by her side to help her manage her anxiety and make her feel safe, and her family nearby to see them often. that's all she wants for.
ILYA – it's maybe not quiet, but the peaceful life he wants is raising children with maeve. being with her every day and seeing their kids grow into beautiful souls who have the same passion for life their mother has. he would never be bored, raising amadei was full of adventure and his children with maeve would be no different, and he’d love every second of it. he's an avid lover of history and stories and seeing maeve pour her heart into masterworks and supporting her in that would be pretty fulfilling i think.
VIVIENNE – a quiet and peaceful life after the reaper war is almost unimaginable, but after waking up in hospital after the final battle with no enemies left to fight, well, one has time to think about it. it’s not immediate, there’s lots to do to rebuild and keep the systems safe. but it eventually means settling down with garrus, hanging up the armour and putting away the guns, and probably adopting a few troublemakers orphaned by the war. i don’t think she’s get bored but there would be other struggles, wondering when these peaceful times will end, never trusting that another threat isn’t right around the corner, doubting the safety that’s been hard won.
W. werewolves (& vampires). Is your OC more of a vampire or a werewolf? How would they feel about being turned into a creature of the night? Would they be part of a clan, a pack, a coven?
ALATAEA – i could see her being a dhampir! the idea that aleaniryn is a vampire and jocelyn a human is really appealing and it tracks with jocelyn’s existing trend of dating people with a significantly longer lifespan than herself. alataea would struggle a lot initially, trying to adapt to the new lifestyle and ugh drinking from people. i feel like for the looongest time she’s drinking from blood bags, can’t take it from people without being that clip of brennan-dracula being disgusted by blood. she’d be part of her dad’s clan and would feel safe with them, it’s just a huge adjustment period.
ILYA – vampire fits very well for ilya honestly. incredibly long lifespan, insanely powerful, and he already has the haunted castle. vampire ilya is built for that joke about getting soaked in the rain and taking shelter in the mysterious castle in the woods. i think he'd handle the transition well enough but he wouldn’t be part of a clan, he’s very much a solitary creature.
VIVIENNE – there is something about having died horribly and being brought back in a body that’s yours but has been changed irrevocably against your will and doesn’t quite feel like you any longer that screams werewolf to me and god i think that’d be a lifelong battle. it’s a given she’s in a pack given how close she is with everyone on the normandy and she’s so protective of them.

Alien: Romulus (2024) - REVIEW
Tumblr media
youtube
With Alien: Romulus, we're back in familiar territory with a sequel/prequel that opts for a more back to basics approach. Director Fede Alvarez moves away from Prometheus and Alien: Covenant by taking the series back to the visual style and tone of the originals. As a homage to the Ridley Scott and James Cameron era of Alien movies, Romulus is a triumph as it looks, moves and sounds like it could've been made in the late 1970's/early 80's. But perhaps the notable thing for me is that this has that same sense of dread that an Alien film should have as Romulus delivers on the chills, gore and thrills that perhaps the more recent films were somewhat lacking. Whether Alien: Romulus is the next major step forward for the series is up for debate as there's very little here that we haven't seen before to an extent.
Tumblr media
It all starts slowly and spends time introducing Rain (Cailee Spaeny) , her synthetic brother Andy (David Jonsson) and the standard rag tag group which, this time, is comprised of worker friends who decide to infiltrate the decommissioned (or is it?) Romulus and Remus station. The film spends enough time to ensure that you do kind of care about them to an extent especially when you consider their lives against the hellish backdrop of the Jackson mining colony where the Weyland-Yutani Corp are essentially working them all slowly to death. However much like with Prometheus and Alien: Covenant, none of the leads are a match for Sigourney Weaver's Ripley although I do feel that Cailee Spaeny has come the closest with her relationship with David Jonsson's Andy being the most interesting in the film. The MVP of the film for me is Jonsson's dual performance as two versions of Andy with the secondary version in particular adding some some additional tension and unpredictability.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The use of practical effects gives everything a really dirty, gritty and lived in look (like the originals) and is especially effective on the station itself. But it's the use of darkness, shoulder based camera shots that limit the field of vision and the interjecting use of both silence and sound that really ups the tension once the group reaches the station. With the added impact of the score, sound effects, moments of claustrophobia and even arachnophobia, I often found myself tensing up and on the edge of my seat not knowing where the next scare is coming from or what horror might suddenly reveal itself. These are old tricks that have all been used before, but that still doesn't stop it from being effective here and make no mistakes, Alien: Romulus is as tense and scary as you'd hope it be.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But there's also no question that the film offers fan service in a way that Prometheus and Alien: Covenant didn't, for better or worse. Elements of the story naturally link back to 1979's Alien but there is also a surprising reference to Prometheus and the origins of the Xenomorphs as well. While these sort of references in the story itself didn't bother me in the slightest, the repeated use iconic lines from the series as well as the structural similarities may prove to be more challenging for others. There's no question for me that the worst offender is the use of a classic Aliens line in particular that is misjudged and took me out the movie for a moment. Whether this is all enough to hinder your enjoyment of the film is for you to decide but for me however, none of this took away from the quality of the filmmaking and the overall roller coaster ride that this film takes you on. The Xenomorphs in particularly are gloriously realized using practical effects and there are a number of tense and fun set pieces that made me sit up think that they are back to their full glory.
Tumblr media
VERDICT
Alien: Romulus may lack originality but it looks and sounds fantastic and is a scary and thrilling roller coaster ride of a movie. The best Alien movie since Aliens.

Hello!! Random question about NN Freddy: If I remember correctly, there’s a scene in the movie where someone says the Entity taking on Freddy’s form has probably taken on the form of other characters in the past. Do you have a headcanon for other forms that Entity has taken on?
Holy SHIT I love this question thank you so much. Please excuse the length I have a lot of thoughts.
SO.
Given that the Entity is said to feed on fear and “the death of innocence”, I think he’s been the villain of the story about 95% of the time. He’s cruel and vain and sadistic, and I think he enjoys it.
With all the religious imagery and themes associated with the ANOES franchise and in New Nightmare itself, I think the Entity played the role of the serpent in the Bible. I mean, it’s one of the most widely known loss of innocence stories. Plus, I feel like it’s a bit implied in the movie itself. The Entity summons a snake to prevent Dylan from escaping, and he transforms into a demonic horned creature before his defeat. I also think he’s occupied the villain/monster role in a variety of other regional myths and legends – including Greek and Roman, judging by the architecture in his hell world.
But going into pure headcanon territory, I headcanon that he was the dragon that killed Beowulf, Kronos in Greek mythology, and Dracula in the original Bram Stoker novel. He found a home in quite a few German expressionist films, including Nosferatu, before being attracted to American horror cinema with 1931’s Dracula. I also headcanon that he occupied the roles of the Wicked Witch from The Wizard of Oz and the alien from Alien (I hc the latter because of Freddy's propensity for using his tongue, considering what the xenomorph does with its own oral appendage).
And then, of course, in the early 1980s Wes Craven started crafting a certain little slasher flick…. and, well, we know the rest.

So we went to see the new Aliens movie Alien: Romulus. I can honestly can say I'm not a huge fan of the Alien(s) franchise I like them and I have seen them all and have some of them on disk and in the digital collection. I say I'm not a huge fan I just like Predator more. I think Predator is more interesting design/style wise and story wise nothing against H.R. Giger of course its just a preference as a fan thats all but yeah we went to see this new terrifying chapter. Also yes there was collectable goodies which you can see here.
Anyway about the movie I thought it was great I really liked it. I felt it was very reminiscent of the original 4 movies like they took aspects of them and put them into this even some stuff from the two prequel movies Prometheus and Covenant.
but I would have to say this movie drew more on the first 2 movies Alien and Aliens then any of the other ones. Also this is like a direct sequel to the original Alien being it takes place like 20 years after the events of that movie being they talk about in this.
the basic story for this a group of people are wanting to escape their lives working in the mines on a mining colony planet and discover what seems like an abandoned ship and they are going to use cryo pods to escape to another planet. So they go up to the ship and find out that it is a derelict space station which unknown to them had found the remains of the Alien Xenomorph from the first movie and were doing experiments on it. So while these people are looking for the cryo pods they inadvertently unleashed the aliens and now have to survive in order to get off the station.
I knew this was going to be good being it was directed and co written by blank who did both Don't Breath and the recent Evil Dead which were both amazing movies so I knew that this was going to be very good and being he is a horror director this movie played up the horror alot which i think this franchise should be. It did have some actiony bits to it but was as actiony as say Aliens which was good. like I said it should be a horror franchise.
The the visuals were of course impressive the production and set design were all really good and felt like the same time period as the first movie. also the creature effects were excellent. There was an amazing amount of of Facehugger action which was cool I think maybe this is the most you seen them scurrying around on screen? I'm not sure but you actually got to see them almost stalking the human characters. Also the character called the "Offspring" was crazy weird and creepy and its kind of hard to believe that the character is not CGI but an actual person in a suit with like prosthetics?!? That alone is a bit terrifying in itself I was shocked to find out that was a real person in a costume.
In the end the movie was great I enjoyed it alot and I think any fan of the Alien series would enjoy it being it brings the movies back to their horror roots.

A Hundred Some New ATOM Kaiju Pt. 6
In this installment of the unfinished ATOM kaiju showcase, we're looking at some aliens. A lot of aliens, actually.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
One kaiju archetype I didn't manage to figure out how to put a spin on while working on the first two volumes of ATOM was the blob monster. Then, sometime after Vol 2 was published, I finally struck on a design I liked - just enough identifiable features to stand out without losing the amorphous quality that defines the blob monster archetype. I even illustrated it in three configurations to show off that this isn't a creature with a set form, and how the recognizable parts of it - the needle "teeth" and four eyes - aren't set in one place, with those teeth being repurposed as spikes/claws in (at least) one of its forms.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
While ATOM's design influences mostly draw from the 50's and 60's, as Pathogen and the Writhing Flesh show, they're not the sole decades of influence. So I thought it'd be fun to have some Giger-esque monsters. Gygwin, the one on the top, is specifically trying to be part of the distinct lineage of "Xenomorph knockoffs who are kind of sort of not really trying to hide that they're xenomorph knockoffs," while Campron, the lankier fellow, combines the Giger homage with the related sci-fi concept of a Space Vampire, being a sort of xenomorph-ish Dracula kaiju.
Tumblr media
Speaking of specific homages, Kraynia and Torzo here probably seem obvious on the outset, being very clearly based on the Mut-Ant from This Island Earth. However, Kraynia can also detach from Torzo and wiggle around as a crawling brain, making it double as a Fiend Without A Face homage (and The Crawling Eye too if you'd like).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Four more aliens to round out this batch. We've got a kaiju take on the Fresno Nightcrawlers that plays up the "it's... it's just a pair of walking pants" vibe, a bug-eyed monster, a two-headed freak, and finally, an alien with a weapon for a head. Gotta have an alien with a weapon for a head.
