The End Of My Candy Love

Warning!

Alright, so. This post will contain a lot. First of all, it's gonna be really sloppy. I'm very emotional person and I easily get attached to games, movies and stuff. I know it's a bit weird, but yeah, I'm a weird person. Anyway, that's why there's a warning: there's gonna be a lot of sloppiness, grammar mistakes (at least I think so, specially since english isn't my native languange) and it's probably going to be long. So, if you're intrested in reading my thoughts about everything - good luck.

First Adventure

I first heard about "My Candy Love" in 2015, six years ago. So, I was basically a baby (I'm pretty young). And I started playing a year after, I got totally obssesed with Lysander and I fell in love, seriously, haha. I was into writing back then, but I couldn't find any ideas on "what to write?" and MCL gave me just that - inspiration (that's most likely why I'm just a romance freak).

My Story

You know, I was a child so I couldn't really pay for AP, but I always found some kind of way to get them. But then I got my phone I just used money from that, geez, I was nuts. The old AP system was so iconic, looking for Nathaniel, finding Kiki, I'm gonna miss it.

Anyway, I got along with Castiel pretty well (which suprises me 'cause I found about walkthroughs in 2017, like year after, so maybe it was because I was a brat?), but I adored Lysander. Oh, I also loved Ken (I was so sad when he went away) and Nathaniel. After I met Armin, I liked him too.

Again, being a child and playing a game like this I came across all diffrent kinds of emotions. I was laughing, crying, dying from embaressment (this thing with Nath and locker room, aaa) and getting seriously mad (Deborah's arc, Priya, Charlotte). I remember impatiently waiting for new episode to come out or crying my eyes out during Lysander's amnesia plot. Jesus. I loved the way Castiel was teasing Candy, I loved this cute-clumsy Kentin, I loved the old Nathaniel, I loved Armin and most of all - I loved my precious Lysander. I adored the interactions between characters, how funny or cringy they were and how much fun I had. I even like this secret-dating plot even when it got on my nerves. I still remember staying up late to watch videos like "lysander illustrations" and stuff. I also really enjoyed reading MCL manga and I spent hours trying to translate it from Spanish to English or my native languange (funfact: I still haven't finished it! I don't know where to find those mangas) or trying to draw something from the game up ending up terribly failing. Anyway, I was crying during the prom thing, my Candy was so grown-up, I got emotional, haha. So, 40 episode came in. I was pretty excited 'because, me, being extremely naive (I got to say, I've never had a problem with Beemoov before, I started playing MCL in 2016 and Eldarya in 2017, so there were no major issues with them, only the price of PA, I think) thought that my Lysander is going to propose (I was a child, ok?) and maybe, there's going to be a second season with us living together. Haha, how naive I was. Whole episode 40, really got me tearing up, I was a wreck, seriously (When Kentin couldn't take Candy's bra off I lost it or this whole ananas thing in Castiel's route, omg). But I finished it feeling happy. I truly enjoyed spending my time on this game. But, then this whole university thing came out. And the fact, that Lysander, Armin and Kentin won't be with us foe the next season. I spent entire vacation crying (I was a kiddo, ok?) and being mad at everyone. I felt like I got robbed. It was horrible.

"A New Chapter"

I was one of these people who just couldn't accept the change. Not in the world. Never. They stole my Lysander, Kentin and Armin from me and changed AP system to some kind of bullshit. God, I was mad. Really mad. Seeing Castiel was quite nice, but I didn't fill the void of my baby. But, oh, my, God. When I saw Nathaniel I just couldn't believe. I said I was mad? Then I was furious. I really liked the old Nathaniel, he had his own vibe, his backstory, his character and it was just, damn, amazing. But they changed him completely, for what? They wanted the second Castiel? Yeah, they got it. Priya as a love interest was quite a good move, tho. I even though I didn't like her (in highschool or in university) I liked the idea of adding a female interest. But the thing that hurted me, was the fact that Lysander was taking care of the farm. Like, no! He didn't want that. He didn't like the countryside. He had such a potential to become a author and Beemoov didn't let him. God, that broke my heart. Anyway, I didn't spent a single penny on MCLUL, but I have to say - I kinda enjoyed it. You know, it was the guily-pleasure kind of thing. I didn't like it as much as I liked highschool, but there were some good or funny moments. I loved Rayan's kiss scene. I adored Chani. Or Hyun making us watch "Toy Story". Nathaniel's ulgy green hair or all these crazy threesomes. I liked it. Kinda. I hated Nath tho. The ending, hm, it was okay, I guess? I do feel sort of nostalgic thinking about it 'cause I got some nice memories from it, in the end. But yeah, going on.

Love Life

Oh. My. Lord. I was so sceptical about it. Like, I was sure that, at this point they're going to do "My Candy Love Mid-Life Crises" next or some other shit. But in the end, I "kinda" like it. It wasn't good like highschool or fresh like university, but I was nice to see new chapters with our annoying-cringy Candy, that I love (btw, I started playing other otome games and I realized that Candy wasn't that bad). Meeting Eric was nice, even tho, this whole cheating plot really got me ragging. Like, damn, Beemoov, seriously? And if you going this, why not with old LIs? Just kidding. Anyway, I truly enjoyed meeting Dan and Eric, the two of them were quite a characters. I won't forget them, hah. I was happy with single ending, 'cause I think about it as a "open ending" when my Candy can go back to my baby and everything's going to be alright.

Regrets & Complaints

Now, now. Where do I start? AP system was a freaking nightmare. Replacing old Nathaniel with some kind of weird Castiel was a nightmare. Removing Lysander, Nathaniel, Armin and Kentin was a nightmare. Not finishing plots was a nightmare. And why in the whole Love Life I haven't seen Amber once? Why Alexy never mentioned Evan like they're not brothers? Why Castiel doesn't care that I was dating his bestfriend? And why, in the world, after changing the system finding Kiki is so damn easy? Why AP is so expensive? So many questions!

All The Good Times

But, I got to say. I will never forget this bitchy Castiel, cookie-monster Ken following us around. Or cute Nathaniel. Castiel buying Candy some kind of weird McDonald's. Or Lysander's parents exposing him having crush on Candy. Or seeing Kentin kissing Amber (ew). This super akward-funny sex ed lesson. Deborah's arc and losing my shit over it. Or Thomas (this weird child) stalking my Candy and her LI in the park. And Lysander asking us how to hide a body, aaa. Or Armin telling us he loves us. Or Kentin. And Cookie ripping this huge teddybear apart. Or the water fight in Kentin’s spin off. And crushing on Alexy and later on finding out he’s gay. Or spin-the-bottle game and Lysander getting jealous. Or Dake, being a creep for entire game straight. Or guessing what was guy's surnames. And for sure, I will never forget this demonic Kiki dog.

What it worth it?

In the end, yes. Have I ever told you that I want to become a professional writer? Silly dream, I know, but writing is a huge passion of mine, and well, my first story was based off My Candy Love (it is cringy as hell, but I feel kinda nostalgic thinking about it). All these years spending on playing game that I wasn't supposed to be playing was amazing. It was one of the best experiences I had in life and I will never, ever forget that.

What now?

Well, Beemoov is working on a new game and I'm kinda optimistic. I know, it's really naive of me, but I want to believe that they won't f*ck this up, this time. And going back to Sweet Amoris, well, I truly missed this place! And the teachers... And Kiki. I wonder, when it will be released and will Beemoov finally open up about telling us surnames and ages of love interests. Anyway, I want to believe they learnt from their mistakes.

In the end. Thank you, My Candy Love, for creating so many memories. I will be forever grateful.

AEW ALL OUT 2021

In which, not to get ahead of myself here, AEW puts on one of the best major wrestling shows in several years*, following the simple yet effective principle of giving the people what they want and sending everyone home happy and hungry for more.

- The incredibly 'Nitro' ending of the go-home Dynamite, which ran a little long on the 'heels beat everyone up and strut around like assholes almost too in desperate need of comeuppance' bit, short of garbage raining into the ring, did actually increase the heat for both promoted matches. Again, not rocket science, but executed perfectly. Catharsis was on the card, and catharsis went over several times Sunday. - Again, it's time to move on from the Casino theme, shuffling the deck and drawing suits really only detracted from the Battle Royale and seemingly always throws the production crew a curve. If they haven't hammered it by now, it's not going to happen. - Bit unhappy about the PAC/Andrade situation, but still over the moon with Andrade's promo style and Chavito being unhelpful at best.

*Pre-Card

Best Friends and Jurassic Express v The Hardy Family Office and The Hybrid 2 (**) - Not usually much to say about a loaded-up multiteam boondoggle, particularly when the show has yet to begin, but there were some moments worth sitting up to take notice -- there's a lot of talent in the ring, even if Jack Evans/Angelico aren't going to be more than mid-level mooks, little matchups with guys like Luchasaurus and Chuck Taylor are opportunities for innovative/weird spots. - Really this match exists to show-off Jungle Boy, play his theme song twice, and work him in to the aforementioned spots. I don't rightly know what Jungle Jack's ceiling is, but it sort of feels like he's plateauing, at least this version of himself. - Dan Lambert thing is interesting in that it doesn't seem to easily lead to something obvious... I mean who are Scorp and Ethan Page feuding with by proxy here, the concept of contemporary professional wrestling? Orange Cassidy and Kenny Omega?

*Main Card

Miro (C) v Eddie Kingston for the TNT Championship (***1/2) - 'Redeem Deez Nuts' T-shirts now available -- and made immediately redundant now that Miro has graciously redeemed Eddie's nuts. - Imagine looking at Miro, listening to Miro talk, and not really being able to figure out this guy is money. Also imagine panicking when he took a little while to find his groove in AEW. 'The Redeemer' is both entertaining and terrifying, and this match delivered heavily on the promise of two big fellas smacking together repeatedly. - Not only does Eddie's arsenal of power moves target Miro's neck, he may also be quite difficult to put in the full reclined camel clutch. Or he'd quite literally snap in half. It didn't come to that. - Weird heel turn by Bryce's attention span and the overall weirdness of the finish is all that kept this from being an excellent match, otherwise this was a tremendous curtain jerker and started off a dangerously fun run of pure adrenaline.

Jon Moxley v Satoshi Kojima (****) - The stakes were nebulous, the build was abrupt, yet this was a fantastic match and tremendous showcase for an underappreciated great who has been more or less just toiling for a bunch of years as a NJPW Dad. Same deal for Nagata, and I assume Tenzan is the same, Taka Michinoku even -- let's see it. - I have to assume the Cozy Lariat might have put Mox down, but Kojima otherwise played the hits (Koji Cutter, Piledriver, Brainbustaaaa) in a big way and Moxley once again proved he's become a very well-rounded wrestler who can match the intensity of just about any former IWGP champion. - More to the point-- KAZE NI NARE -- out of nowhere, too. Or out of nowhere to those not paying attention to the whereabouts of Minoru Suzuki (Right, he's just over here to fight Daniel Garcia and not Mox?), which I guess is to my own peril. Wow, though. Surprise Number 1- a complete surprise, and a welcome one. Let's have it.

Dr Britt Baker, DMD (C) v Kris Statlander for the AEW Women's Championship (****) - I love Kris and her best friends but she didn't have a prayer of dethroning Britt. She got one promo, several weeks ago, and though she did make a meal of Hayter and Rebel, the chase has been abrupt and not given much discussion, other than Mark Henry and whomever else acknowledging what is extremely evident -- Statlander is stronger than she looks, and she looks really strong. They've got her doing Cesaro-level 'modify your grip while holding your opponent's entire weight' nonsense, and it's amazing and scary. - Even with the reign of the good doctor not being credibly threatened, this was an excellent match that demonstrated the continued growth of the competitors in the women's division, even as it underlined that their storylines remain undercooked and perfunctory: Orange Cassidy whipping off his shades to urge Stat to get up was a beautiful moment. Britt's Panama Sunrise, also, too sweet. Statlander eating shit on her 451 and her pendulum moonsault was properly brutal, as were Britt's curb stomps. Really great match between these two. - Again, if they had bothered to write anything into this story, such as Kris' alien physiology making her immune to the lockjaw or something... actually, maybe that's a terrible idea. it's an idea. Undefeated challenger is defeated, on to the next for Dr Britt. Statlander and OC should tag against some of the boys.

The Young Bucks (C) v The Lucha Bros for the AEW World Tag Team Championship(*****+) - Can't not mention the insane entrance lined up for Fenix and Penta. It was bewildering, it was enchanting, it was aggressive, it was hype. It also reminded everybody how very badly we all wanted the Lucha Bros to win. The crowd has been setting new peaks with their volume since Punk showed up, but things were absolutely thunderous and ecstatic at the end of this match. Absolutely valid response. I yelled on the couch. - Nick's facial hair was a bigger tell that it was time for the Bucks to lose than anything else about this build. There's literally nowhere to go from there -- they've done the hair, the bandanas, the kicks, the animal print, the dangly earrings -- peak visual heel for this time and place. - Sincerely thought this was going to be too much of a full sprint spot-fest (the PWG-esque circle of trading blows is not really 'my thing') but even so they kept finding gears, and ramping and ramping and adding blood and brutality along the way. Even a bit of levity, with the tacked up sneaker, followed by the sincerity of Penta throwing himself in harm's way to protect his brother. Immense match, I think you'd have to go back to the Bucks vs the Addiction and MCMGs Ladder War to find a more thrilling tag team gimmick match. - If there's a single flaw to be found it's in the production not really settling on wide angles for simultaneous action at the start of the match. They figured it out. - Rey Fenix is the best luchador in the world.

Women's Casino Battle Royale (**1/2) - If nothing else, this really shows off that they now have a surplus of women's wrestlers who deserve time to hang in the ring. Unsurprisingly, the match picked right up when Thunder Rosa and then Jamie Hayter got to the ring, with additional props to Tay Conti and Jade Cargill, who was dumped rather unceremoniously given her general booking... - Okay, there was something else. Welcome to the rechristened Ruby Soho, who I've not seen a lot of outside of her extremely limited showcase in WWE, but she has so many friends in the back and in the industry and that's never for nothing, not in wrestling, anyway. Intrigued to see where she fits, and if the women ever get more than a match per show. - Touched on this in the preamble but this was the roughest part of the night for the home viewer, just weird decisions on cutting away from various entrances to show... nothing in particular happening. Also while the commitment to not-kayfabing the countdown clock is... admirable? It makes the pacing hinky. - Almost everyone who got new gear for tonight was looking like the white ranger -- Nyla, Swole, Bunny, someone I'm missing. Except Anna Jay, whose stars and glitter gear looked great.

MJF v Chris Jericho for the fate of Jericho's in-ring career (***) - MJF's unauthorized homage to Y2J's entrance: good. Fozzy's guitarist going off tempo with the instrumental Judas: weak, and would've been sad if this were the end for Jericho. Especially as the build has felt... muted, somehow. - Props to the commentary for continuing to feed the red herring of 'in AEW,' as a caveat to stipulation, it did feel like... a remote possibility that MJF would win. - Credit to Aubrey for calling this one down the middle and not putting the fix in for her friend Jericho, and I guess the Dusty finish will give MJF plenty to gripe about. - MJF wrestles with a pure heel style, holds, chops, blocks, and Jericho is fifty years old, so the level of wrestling on exhibition in these matches is well beside the point. It was solid to good, and I was fighting burn out from the first half of the card's level of excitement.

CM Punk v Darby Allin (***1/2) - There are a couple benefits of Darby as a dance partner, and it's certainly better than having to watch Punk return against like, QT Marshall or Shawn Spears. Darby does make everyone look slow, but he can also be tossed around, and this raises his profile even in defeat, obviously. That said, the stakes here are... meta, at best, in that we want to see the man look good and justify the hype. It's a weird thing to root for. He certainly does look good. (Tights? Tights!) - It's fun to theorize about actually booking an angle where Punk is rusty and needs to regain his prowess, and maybe he'll stumble, but maybe the most we get out of that angle is hitting the GTS a little close to the ropes so Darby falls right out of the ring, in what was, for me, the spot that justified this whole match. - Sting's proud step-dad aura is still a hell of a thing, I really liked the end of the match kudos all around. - Match was good, hard to hang my emotions on. I wasn't watching WWE when Punk was in WWE. Definitely feeding off the excitement of others a bit here, and he sure can talk. I'd like to see him cultivate a stable, certainly.

Paul Wight v QT Marshall (n/r) - ...popcorn match? QT Marshall is like the anti-Daniel Garcia in that while his prominence and presence is just as inexplicable, I don't want it to continue, and he doesn't justify it in the process. - Match was two minutes longer than it needed to be.

Kenny Omega (c) v Christian Cage for the AEW World Championship (****1/2) - Crowd was both burnt out and more or less waiting for the post-match angle. Which I get. it's hard to cruise to the main event and having seen all the different things we've already seen on this card, even a singular performer like Kenny Omega and a legend with whom he (surprisingly? fittingly?) has superb chemistry with in Christian Cage were up against it to deliver something memorable. - Context dependent, I can definitely see rating this below their Rampage match, especially since... I mean Christian isn't winning the AEW title off Kenny at this or probably any other event. - But! It was really good! It was very good! They really do match-up well, and Kenny's v-trigger has rarely looked more devastating than when it knocks Christian flat. Christian got cut open in a novel and initially worrying way, and Kenny followed up a botched moonsault with a harder version of the same move off a rail, but it was a really great match and it deserved more energy than was available.

Post-Show - Calling back and inverting the end of Dynamite, The Elite strut about the ring, slightly less stoked than they were on Wednesday, but with the Bucks smiling through the pain, and Jungle Boy once again subjected to violence for his misguided heroism, Kenny 'not much a promo' Omega lays down a killer line about nobody being fit to challenge him who isn't unavailable, already tired or dead. - The Undertaker ADAM COLE, BAY BAY as Surprise #3 was a minor stroke of brilliance, and a fun swerve because while it's exciting to see him, his appearance at this point in the narrative does nothing to solve the problem of The Elite beating up Christian and Jungle Boy. Unless he's still sore about his unsolved murder, which he isn't. Storytime with Adam Cole is back and it's beautiful. Also Jungle Boy died for this. - Okay. But. Just. Okay. CM Punk and Bryan Danielson are All Elite. They will hopefully tag together. Bryan will head to NJPW, almost definitely. Minoru Suzuki just walked in and started slugging on Mox. The Forbidden Door is wide open. Will Kenny Omega one day return to Wrestle Kingdom? There are so many possibilities and they are all very exciting. This was a phenomenal show and it didn't have Hangman Page, Cody Rhodes, FTR, Santana and Ortiz, PAC, Andrade, Sammy Guevara, Team Taz, and the rest.

- Wrestling is good, actually. Imagine watching like five hours of wrestling and loving wrestling at the end of it.

wooow ,  two  years.  it’s  been  a  ride ,  i’m  not  going  to  lie.  i’ve  had  ups  and  downs ,  friendships  lost  and  friendships  gained.  but  through  it  all ,  i’ve  never  given  up  on  my  brainchild.  she’s  grown  and  evolved  from  a  simple ,   “ what  if  i  made  a  stephen  king  oc? ” ,   to  her  whole  entire  entity  with  a  universe  of  her  own.  it’s  truly  become  the  phrase ,   it’s  x’s  world  and  we’re  all  just  living  in  it.      this  one  thousand  precent  has  become   jackie’s  world.   and  i  am  so  glad  to  be  living  in  it.  jackie  has  become  such  a  huge  fixture  in  my  writing  life  that  after  being  told  time  and  time  again  if  her  story  was  a  book ,  so – and – so  would  read  it ,  i’ve  started  to  conceptualize  an  adaptation  that  can  be   published   one  day  without  being  sued  by  mr.  king.  lmao.

honestly ,  i  would’ve  never  imagined  being   here  with  her  and  having  such  a  positive  feedback  consensus.  so ,  there’s  a  few  people  who  have  been  around  from  the  start  or  has  just  given  so  much  to  myself  and  jackie  that  i  can’t  see  her  being  where  she  is  without  you.  and  i’d  like  to  take  this  moment  to   acknowledge   those  people.

note  :   this  is  going  to  get  long ,  so  i  need  to  put  this  under  the  cut.  i  also  need  to  say  this  isn’t  a  bias  list  or  meant  to  make  anyone  feel  badly.  these  people  have  just  been  absolutely  crucial  to  her  creative  process  and  i  feel  they  deserve  that  acknowledgement  and  thanks.

𝒂𝒔𝒉   ‘ aka ’   @blondemattel  +  @unbelong​      ––––––      so ,  you’ve  become  an  absolute  joy  in  my  life  that  i  never  knew  i  needed.  but  now  that  i’ve  got  you ,  tough  shit  and  good  luck  getting  away.  a   huge  part   of  my  current  and  future  arcs  happened  because  of  you ,  whether  you  think  about  it  and  realize  it  or  not.  when  we  talked  about  andy  and  how  jackie  could  have  an  it  verse ,  she  also  adopted  danny  and  pantu’s  eddie.  which  then  stemmed  the  want  for  a  part  two  section  of  her  life.  she  had  a  child ,  she  wrote  all  these  books ,  she  went  through  hell  losing  danny  and  andy  both.  the  single  mom  then  translated  over  partly  to  her  alternate  timeline.  all  the  books  she  wrote  and  things  she  experienced  +  having  to  eliminate  the  sydney  equation  translated  into  arcs  six ,  seven ,  eight  and  beyond.  i  may  not  have  ever  told  you ,  but  you  have   punched  yourself   permanently  into  who  she  is  and  will  be.  and  that  is   everything   to  me.  just  as  much  as  you’ve  been  integrated  into  jackie’s  lore ,  you’ve  been  fit  into  the  jigsaw  puzzle   ( smirk_emoji  @  the  reference )   of  my  life.  i  adore  you ,  you’re  one  of  my  best  friends.   thank  you   for  always  staying  true  and  staying  you.

𝒔𝒆𝒓𝒂   ‘ aka ’   @shinedied  +  @arbitaer      ––––––      so ,  this  all  started  from  a  multi  where  jackie  nor  any  sk  muse  existed.  you  let  me  slide  into  your  dms  and  gush  over  our  mutual  love  of  the  torrance  family.  i’ve  always  felt  weird  approaching  torrance  muses  with  jackie  until  i  know  the  mun  because  she   is   such  a  canon  affiliated  muse.  not  everyone  is  comfortable  about  familial  original  characters  to  their  canon  muses.  but  you  gave  me  a  chance ,  you  looked  at  her  blog ,  and  at  a  time  where  i  really  needed  someone ,  you  didn’t  even  know  it  but  your  interest  and  willingness  to  write  with  her   gave  me  hope   that  continuing  with  jackie  after  losing  someone  i  cared  for ,  was  the  right  decision.  you  and  i  don’t  write  ic  nearly  enough ,  but  the  massive  amount  of  talking  ooc  we’ve  done  about  daniel  and  his  cousin  have  warmed  my  heart  so  damn  much.  you’ve  helped  me  develop  her  relationship  with  dan  so  much  more  than  i  originally  had.  fuck ,  you  even  made  me  know  just  how  much  he  has  her  back  by  having  him  want  to  go  to  ‘salem’s  lot  with  her  to  kill  syd.  you’ve  allowed  me  to  just  know  and  explore  the  climax  of  her  story —   finding  her  family ,  getting  sober ,  and  getting  back  to  living.  that’s  just  so  important  to  me.  you  have  no  idea.

The Bear’s Famous Invasion of Sicily

Movie, 2019, Italian/French

9/10, a delightful little movie with amazing visuals. It feels like an animated picture book.

One of those “plot is in the title” media! I had never heard of this before but was heavily recommended it by my family members, who all loved it! It’s a sweet story, nothing groundbreaking but the unique colorful visual style alone makes it worth it.

The Castle of Cagliostro

Movie, 1979, Japanese

10/10. Reminded me of all the books i loved reading as a child

I assume its because it’s so old and the art style and themes are so different that it gets little to no love compared to other Ghibli movies, which is a shame! It’s fun with an endearing cast and as always, great animation and music

Mushishi

Series, 2006, Japanese

10/10 three episodes in I knew it was going to be my favorite series ever

One of the few things I’ve seen I’ll describe as life-changing. It’s absolutely lovely but never toots its own horn about it. Humble, calming, emotional and surprisingly mature. It’s pretty impossible to binge due to how intense the experience is. I just want to walk in the forest now...

6/10 Dissapointing adaptation of a classic story

I read the manga for this when I was in middle school and remembered loving it. The animated version does an ok job of presenting the characters and worldbuilding and has some nice action scenes but overall looks really damn cheap and just. Not very good. Seeing I already knew most of the plot I did not have the element of discovery that made me marvel so much reading the original. It’s still a nice series but I really recommend reading it instead.

Code Lyoko (s1+2)

Series, 2003, french

3/10. 1.5 being for the opening song alone

This show sucks ass if I hadn’t been watching this with my bestie I would have dropped it two episodes in. The art style is ugly the stories are always the same and the first season has a (later removed thank fucking god) LITERAL “erase any consequences” button as a plot device in every episode. If you watch it for one thing let it be the nostalgia factor of early 00s Vidya Game Plot

The Legend of Hei

Movie, 2019, Chinese

7/10. Impressive visuals and a poor story

I finally watched this, peer pressured by the load of gifsets on my dashboard! It’s a sweet movie with really impressive animation, sometimes a bit too flashy for my taste (the action sequences go so ham they become not very readable...) but the story was just ok? The setting is barely explained and you are instead bombarded with vague epicspeech about powers and stuff that made me fondly remember Kingdom Hearts lol but that asides it’s a really good time! I need to watch more Chinese movies the few I know are just delightfully off the shits in how they approach action and I love that

Hunter x Hunter

Series, 1999, Japanese

9/10. Superior to the recent one!

I first got introduced to the series via the 2011 one. Comparatively, the 99 series focuses way less on action and way more on the characters, which I love because that fits my personal preferences! Despite mediocre filler episodes and some weird slight pointless plot changes, what it changes from the original manga doesn’t have much of an impact on the characters. The animation quality isn’t always consistent including a huge art style change for an arc (???) but it’s overall pretty nice. The series really shines in the last arc it adapts.

Oban Star-racers

Series, 2006, Japanese/french

9/10 a lovely surprise

This series is completly obscure despite having been created by people famous for their other series (Cowboy Bebop, Code Lyoko that i can name) and it’s a crime! It’s a kids show but without being stupid about it who tells the story of an inter-planetary race. If you liked that one scene in the star wars prequels you know what I mean. It’s got surprisingly nice animation for a TV series, and some truly great character design. The art style is a bit unique in a not for everyone sense, but I didn’t mind it much. It’s also THE most offensively 2000s series i’ve seen in terms of visuals. y2k kids assemble

The Little Prince and the Eight-Headed Dragon

Movie, 1963, japanese

8/10. Classic fairytale format with incredible visuals

Watched this for the art style because I know it inspired Samurai Jack, and it delievered! I dont’ have much to say about this one, it’s a very simply film but it’s sweet. For my pirates out there if you want to find it in good quality with english subtitles it’s VERY hard to find. If you just want to see the looks of it, it’s on Youtube with portugese subs.

10/10. Underrated as hell

Watched this fully blind for the first time in an animated festival and rewatched it with friends. It’s a crime I never see anyone talking about it given the amount of whining I see about the lack of both adult animation and 2D movies? This film is a unique love letter to art in the form of a weird mix of charming crime story and psychological horror with amazing visuals. I recommend watching it blind and also buying it to show appreciation for how nice it is!!! WATCH THIS MOVIE...

Mononoke

10/10 Visual/storytelling masterpiece in the weird shit departement

If you can stomach intense stuff watch this. The visuals are incredibly unique and beautiful and under the jewel tones and art direction high takes it’s a really cool horror series. My only obstacle to enjoying it the first time I saw it was how dense it is - simply put, it’s so...culturally Japanese it’s not very accessible to me who doesn’t know anything about the culture? Watching it for the second time helped understanding the stories more! 

Corto Maltese in Siberia

Movie, 2002, french

9/10 but really close to ten. A great adaptation!

I’m a huge fan of the original comic so I entered this a biiiittttt suspicious it would suck but it was a really pleasant surprise! It has all the wonder and charm of the original and the animation was surprisingly good for the little budget. If you’re not familiar with the series, it’s a sort of geopolitical action/adventure movie but with it’s own really poetic vibe to it. It’s almost impossible to find online but happens to be fully on YouTube so go ham I guess?

10/10 cinema was invented for this, actually

Every review of this movie i’ve seen gives it five stars and starts by talking about how immensly stupid it is. I’m no different. It’s a masterpiece of escalating energy with the depth of a puddle and it fucking rules. It’s free on YouTube too so there really is no excuse to not watch it. Watched it for the first time on a huge cinema screen and despite this my second rewatch on my small laptop was as/even more enjoyable. If you watch this stoned with friends you might travel to another dimension

I watched this a single time as a kid and had little memory of it! I mean it’s Ghibli you know it’s going to be good as hell but this one rly shines in how colorful and detailed it is and in it’s world! It made me remember I had a huge crush on the dragonboy as a kid. I’m gay now

Honestly my favorite franchise of the whole disney/dreamworks/pixar hydra. It’s fun as hell, doesn’t skip a single beat and has amazing animation and character designs. If something is a good time I will not care if it’s deep or not and boy I fucking love these movies

I tend to hate american cinema and this includes that era of animation I have no nostalgia for. Sinbad is in a weird place because I love adventure stories and the visuals of the movie absolutely deliver but it’s very predictable and TANKED by the addition of the female character, pushed in your face as “look we have woman!!!” despite her writing being misogynistic as hell lol. The evil goddess rules tho. This movie would have been a solid 9 if instead of the girl the two dudes had kissed

ok so like. here’s my harry potter house thing. i’m ngl i tried to do this but then i deleted it bc it was getting too long and i didn’t have the attention span but. it kept sticking in my brain so i decided to pick it back up and as such, i’ve lost the original post but it was a quarantine activity (sort drivers into houses, assign quidditch positions, explain) posted by @verstappened​. houses done first, then positions, then explanations for both. i tried to make feasible teams, i.e making sure there arent too many of a single position per house, so this really screwed some of the sorting but oh well.

i did the houses first, then positions, then explanations in that order for the most part.

Lewis Hamilton:

Slytherin: THE GLORY MAN. the aloof kind of superiority, confidence, is top dog, he’s simply the pinnacle of it all. kind of lethal and doesn’t do the whole ‘looking up to others’ things (outwardly, but he seems very soft on the inside tbh). very majestic and is almost a gryffindor, the kind of slytherin that Merlin is. hard-working, got here from incredibly humble beginnings, which kind of stands out from the rest, but he’s clearly now at the top level of society. still very protective of Others. scarily ambitious. Was originally a gryffindor but I wanted the brits to be in different houses for their quidditch positions to work. Could honestly go either way though.

Seeker: more glory. periodt. he stays winning and scoring the most points. clutch-man. Speedy boy, kind of in a different world than everyone else when competing (he’s always at the front lifetimes away from everyone else lmao. playing a diff game.)

Valtteri Bottas:

Hufflepuff: HE SEEMS. LIKE. A. BIG. CHILD. always relegated and brushed off but is literally God-Tier and no one can convince me otherwise. i consider him to be rather reliable (reflecting only the 2019 season at least lmao). a bit of a vindictive streak bc he knows what he’s Capable Of even when others underestimate him. has a very bright smile.

Beater: have u seen him. he’s a big boy even though he’s 5′8 and only an inch taller than lando norris he seems bigger than he is ok

Charles Leclerc:

Slytherin: this bitch. what a snake. hiss hiss.

Chaser: he wants what lewis hamilton has but chose the wrong position. still a star in his own right. pride and joy of his house, will be at the lead of every formation play unless told otherwise by his head of house, to which he will brood and complain ab but comply in the end bc he wants Team Success and loyalty to his Family. scores the most points on the team and people act like he carries even though he literally has a partner(s).

ok but fr my gut said charles is a slytherin (do i really need to explain why? very critical, doesn’t accept inferiority, somehow succeeds. just a feeling his brain seems to fit motorsport politics well), but i was seriously contemplating whether he’d be a gryffindor to max’s slytherin instead. but then i saw someone mention the whole lion schtick and i was like for all of max’s brattiness he is Gryffindor so sharl is snake. sorry don’t make the rules just follow them.

Sebastian Vettel:

Ravenclaw: idk for all of Seb’s goofiness he just seems cerebral to me. Seems to know mildly irrelevant facts and is really quite smart however is hopeless in the modern age. Kind of that wise old(er he’s not that old) man knowledge. I’d trust him to give me all the life advice I need but also to write a 10 page essay on the nuances of the effect of emotion on verbal language (which we all know he is very experienced with).

Keeper: it’s the protective Dad Power.

Max Verstappen:

Gryffindor: WAS REALLY GONNA PUT HIM IN SLYTHERIN BC HE’S A NASTY LIL SHIT. TOTAL BRAT. GIVES FUCK ALL WHAT OTHERS SAY. BUT HE IS LION AND LION IS HE SO GRYFFINDOR IT IS. also just bc he needs to oppose sharl in every way possible it’s called Poetic Cinema. also his driving style is clearly the bravery and confidence to the point of recklessness that is prevalent among gryffindors.

Chaser: again, he must oppose Charles. so, not a seeker although he’s clearly singularly the most prized competitor. just like Charles, pride and joy of house, their star chaser. the comparisons never end. the competition never ends. the fighting never ends. one of the most interesting and dynamic performers to watch, is predictable in that he’s not predictable except that he will always be aggro to the max. will always be in trouble for getting rough bc that’s Not His Job but that’s just the gryffindor disregard for rules. master point scorer.

Alex Albon:

Gryffindor: was really a toss up btwn this and Hufflepuff but the ultimate deciding factor was the fact that I wanted all the British Boys to be seekers. he really just sticks it out as max’s teammate like a real one (nothing against max, everything against Helmet Merco) for the good of the team, still is sweet with max anyway. fitting that they’re in the same house too.

Seeker: he’s not the small boy that lando and lewis are but he is (thai/)British. very special boy (big ups on the promotion even tho it was Sad Times for Pear) deserves very special job. also he has a hot girlfriend (alex albon who i only know lily he’s boy toy) idk how that’s relevant but it seems fitting.

Carlos Sainz:

Ravenclaw: bc he’s a spaniard but is still better at english than Lando (i think everyone is tbh). Seems to be a quiet type of smart, sensible, but perhaps this is just the consequence of being compared to Lanno at all times LMAO (no hate all love bby Lannd). would be the type of ravenclaw to follow his friends on absolutely idiotic ventures but would step in to prevent near death or likely-legal-problem causing actions (and only then; otherwise it’s every man for themselves and everyone is free to make a fool of themselves and break some laws. carlos may dabble in such practices.)

Chaser: seems to be a go-getter, not going for points doesn’t even cross his mind. will always be the one driving up the pitch, the strategist of sorts bc he seems big(ger) brain (than lando lololol).

Lando Norris:

Hufflepuff: you all know why. zero explanation needed. like, none.

also has a bit of an aggressive streak which tends to catch ppl off guard. is not afraid to confront u (hello pageNO) and at times defies the hufflepuff stereotype of being perpetually happy go-lucky (he has his bad days!). but when with His True Crew he is absolutely a hufflepuff ball of energy.

Seeker: small and speedy. energetic to the max. small. quirky and different from the rest, so he gets the special job. small. everyone would kill to protect him. small.

Daniel Ricciardo:

Gryffindor: AW I DIDN’T EVEN REALIZE THAT I PUT HIM AND MAX TOGETHER. LOOK I EVEN MADE THEM BOTH CHASERS. AH HOW BIGBRAIN MY MIND IS. everything ab dan is gold. golden skin, the colors in redbull and renault, his smile, just the vibes. he’s just got the enthusiasm and charisma and this intensity of a gryffindor. super aggressive, his late breaking (from his rbr at least) is legendary and maddening with how he pulls it off. is almost a hufflepuff but the gut said no.

Chaser: is Max’s teammate. so yeah. was obviously the star until younger max came to the show. a bit lost in limbo bc of it but they still work well together.

literally want to make him a hufflepuff so. bad. but i couldn’t split up maxiel. also his vibe is just different from other ‘puffs like stroll so.

Esteban Ocon:

Slytherin: ask max.

Chaser: being characterized off of their relationship with max seems to be a theme here. will go head to head with max w/ absolutely zero shits given. talented, but the rivalry with max is entirely secondary to charles imho. still yet to show his full potential but is still quietly a thorn in max’s side. many are interested to see what he is able to do in the immediate future.

Pierre Gasly:

Hufflepuff: GUYS HE WANTS TO OWN A PANDA

Chaser: constantly trying to prove himself and score big boy points. had a stint as seeker until lando came along. did not do as well as ppl had hoped, returned to chaser and proceeded to crush it from there. praticed a lot with charles as children (the friendship dynamic w/ their houses was definitely unforseen but is amazing).

Daniil Kvyat:

Hufflepuff: really wanted to make him a slytherin but the quidditch positions didn’t work out. firmly believe this works though. more of the rough and tumble type, definitely the kind that will sock u in the nose if u write off hufflepuffs as a joke. could honestly probably be a gryffindor too with how unapologetically aggressive he can be in the name of His Beliefs. gives me big dumb himbo vibes now that i think ab it tbh which is mostly the justification here. also he has a child omg.

Chaser: but the one that’s always headbutting bludgers out of the air (torpedo bitches). also had a stint as seeker before but it Was Not His Thing. he’d much rather be chasing and throwing things than seeking things. also he’s pierre’s mate :,) would’ve been a beater but romain and valtteri will not be anything else so daniil took the boot whoops.

Sergio Perez:

Slytherin: it’s just the vibe. knows his weaknesses and is able to make up for it with his confidence and talent in his strengths. very ambitious, plays the right cards at the right times to get the right results. something ab him puts me on edge, but like in a good way; i feel like there’s always a trump card up his sleeve, like when he gets to q3 out of fucking nowhere in a racing point.

Keeper: he gives me the same vibes as seb idk what it is. very dependable, backbone of his team.

Lance Stroll:

Hufflepuff: guys have u seen the guy. he’s just here to have a good time. may seem a bit airheaded at times but he means well 99% of the time. untapped potential. seems like a no thoughts head empty canadian hockey boy (and every one of these types is a hufflepuff don’t fight it); may or may not be the only accurate description of him.

Chaser: he’s just trying his best out here. i

KEEPER?: SO I DID A QUICK GOOGLE AND HE USED TO BE A HOCKEY

so scratch my initial thoughts (tbh i didn’t really know where to put him and i originally had romain as keeper but that’s an issue to fix later on now) BECAUSE LANCE STROLL IS A keeper GOALIE AND NO ONE CAN REFUTE THIS. ABSOLUTELY NO HUMAN OF THIS EARTH. WHAT GLORIOUS INFORMATION TO STUMBLE ACROSS.

Kimi Raikkonen:

Slytherin: guys i really don’t have an in depth analysis of this but i don’t think iceman needs one.

Beater: see above^. y’all must get the vibe.

tbh could also be a keeper tho similar energies to seb and checo, but honestly his no fucks given attitude is ultimately what swayed me

Antonio Giovinazzi:

Gryffindor: he just has that majestic quality (that could also fit a slytherin but i only see red when i see antonio). look at that lion’s mane. also he’s one of kimi’s to paddock friends? seems fitting that he’s a gryffindor to kimi’s slytherin.

Chaser: plays second fiddle to the duo that is max and daniel, often regulated to vibing on the side. but he’s there and he’s important and he has potential (i’ve been seeing ppl talking ab a ferrari move and i’m positively shaken). [edit: again, this post is old.]

Ravenclaw: I’VE SAID IT BEFORE AND I’LL SAY IT AGAIN THIS KID. is so marvelously well spoken and he just has such a simple yet effective way with words. he knows what’s reasonable to expect but never fails to expect the most that he can given his circumstances. again, mentioned this before but a lot of it is his accent. the glottal stop is a historically stereotypically rural (i.e. “uneducated”) thing but I’m American and I Don’t Listen to the Rules, so the accent just makes him seem so sophisticated to me especially when he’s saying things like “horriiiiiiiific” and presenting his hefty powerpoints.

King of the Road: A Tribute to Roger Miller - Franny recorded a cover of The Moon Is High (And So Am I) for the album. There’s a really cute video uploaded on her YouTube channel of her recording the song and she’s playing acoustic guitar and dancing around in place as she sings in several takes. It’s one of the few internet videos where her husband is seen, because sometimes the camera pans to the sound engineer booth when he’s sitting next to Serghei, her go-to sound guy.

Songwriting

Franny’s even more active as a songwriter than a recording artist. She’s got over 1,000 songwriting credits to her name.

She began writing songs “when I was 11, but they were atrocious, unsalvageable things. The first song I wrote that ever saw the light of day even after heavy edits was first thought up when I was thirteen.”

Franny is openly bisexual and explores that in her songwriting-- however, most of her songs about women or her sexuality that she wrote “pre-2009-ish” she’s scrapped or sold to other artists. Why? “Look, I’ve been married to my husband for almost twenty years now. And that doesn’t make me any less bisexual. But a lot of the songs I’ve written about women are from the perspective of a thirteen through twenty year old me, and at forty, I’m not the best narrator for those stories anymore.They are my lived experiences and my lived feelings, but I want to see how someone actually going through that will take it and interpret it. The songs I write about women loving women now are about characters I make up for the purpose of storytelling so they’re about women closer to my age, it’s about big girl love, not adolescent love.”

Common themes in Franny Sor Robinson songwriting: geography, vivid imagery like she’s showing you a picture of what she’s singing about, Buddhist themes, Christrianity (she’s a Buddhist but grew up in the Bible Belt so she’s very familiar with Christian themes), alliteration

Franny came under a degree of controversy in 2014 with the release of a song called “The Sabbath” because it was a tasteful song about how much she likes sex with her husband after they’ve been apart for a while, and Franny was like “you know you’d think the pearl-clutchin’ folks would be glad I practically worship my husband, but I forgot women ain’t supposed to actually enjoy sex.”

She's written another really sweet song about making love with her husband that did Not get hate because it was Acceptable TM and pretty romantic actually. Think along the lines of Josh Turner's Your Man or Dierks Bentley's Come A Little Closer. Songs deff about how they wanna get down but sweet.

After Franny retweet a clip of that Tyler Childers song in 2019 with the caption “big relate”, she was asked in a tweet if a follow up to The Sabbath was in the cards. Franny replied with “there’s a demo recorded for a song I wrote about six years back and that’s that on that.” Yes, Franny Sor Robinson indeed has written a song about masturbation. She’s performed the song live a few times, however, it is still unreleased officially

Franny’s written songs with lyrics alluding to her family’s experiences under the Khmer Rouge and escaping and resettling around the world, she cleverly hides them among her albums so people accidentally digest some education

Cornelius is the well-documented muse for “every love song I’ve written that I don’t specify in the album notes or an interview is written about a character. My husband is the love of my life and had given me twenty years and counting of great material to write about.”,

Franny’s been on both ends of this story. In 2019, a song Franny wrote but didn’t record became a smash pop hit after she and her producer sent it around to other producers. They recorded Franny’s demo in mid-2017 and they and the bigger pop producer that worked on the song with them listened to over 20 demos of the song until they found the right person to sing it.

And in 2013, Franny got a huge boost to her fame when she was the featured vocalist on a pop song that became a global smash hit. Franny doesn’t typically do like...super top 40 pop type music, but she liked the song so when her agent suggested she record a demo for it and send it back to the producer looking, she was like “sure, okay” and then was absolutely surprised that they chose her over some of the names she knew also recorded demos for the song.

In 2019, a group of NYU students (where she did her undergrad) made a Franny Sor Robinson tribute album project; the majority of the students were Asian students in the university’s music programs who cite her as a big inspiration for them pursuing music. She 100% cried

In 2020, to celebrate the 10 Year Anniversary of her biggest solo album’s release, she pulled a The Story And Cover Stories (we stan Brandi Carlile) where it was re-released along with cover versions of each song by other artists including some of Franny’s biggest living musical influences. All proceeds for the album were donated to Cambodian Living Arts.

Franny has openly admitted in interviews to using mushrooms, LSD, and DMT before in songwriting sessions. Her stance is Kacey Musgraves’ stance. Franny quote from 2019, “Used responsibly, I think psychedelics are a worthwhile experience to have. But safety and education are key. I truly don’t believe they are party drugs. Psychedelics aren’t a party, they’re a deeply spiritual and philosophical journey.”

Written for @sudden-sky because they sent a hilarious photo in discord of a text by a guy on Grindr asking the person they matched with to pick him up a drink from 7/11 and it made me want to write that into a fic version lol 

It had been a lonely Thursday night for Dan. He was keeping himself busy by switching between Bumble and Tinder, swiping left and right on people just to see if anyone was going to actually match him. He wasn’t looking for a hook up tonight, but if the opportunity presented itself, he might just be willing to do something to escape his lonely night.

He’s ten swipes in on Tinder when he goes to grab his glass on the floor beside his couch and as he’s bringing it up to his mouth, he sees its empty. He groans. Now he’s going to have to get up and get something else.

Dan stands up from the couch and walks into his kitchen with the empty glass. He opens his fridge and immediately is shown nothing. His fridge is completely empty save for the very flat bottle of coke that’s from the rum and Cokes he made on Halloween, nearly two weeks ago.

When he grabs it to test it anyway, nothing comes out. No hiss. Zero carbonation. He groans. It’s undrinkable. He needs to dump it. He begins to dump it down the drain when his phone pings on the counter and he turns his head.

He has a new match, and it’s with a guy named Phil. He vaguely remembers seeing Phil when he was swiping and his pictures caught Dan’s eye. Dark black hair, bright blue eyes. A puppy in the third photo. Yep, he checks all of Dan’s boxes.

But as the bottle empties just a bit more into the sink, Dan suddenly has a master plan because he could maybe get a drink and have a hook up in one night if he plays his cards right.

He drops the empty plastic bottle in the sink and picks up his phone, typing out the message.

Hey. So I know we just matched on Tinder but I have a proposition for you. I’m currently alone in my flat, nothing to drink. Not even any soda. I’m thirsty and I need company. So pick me up a drink and drop it off at my flat and I’ll give you a blow job?

Dan feels no shame hitting send. He washes out the sink and then throws the empty plastic bottle into his recycling and picks his phone up again. He’s already got a new message.

Dan feels his eyes widen and smirk curl into his lips as he types out his next message.

Phil texts him back a smiley face and then asks for Dan’s address and Dan gives it to him as he sits back on his couch and waits.

It’s nearly 20 minutes later when he gets a knock on the door and his heart is fluttering in his chest. This has to be Phil. He opens the door and sure enough, there he is.

And he’s even more beautiful than his photos. His hair is pushed into a quiff and he’s wearing glasses perched on the edge of his nose. He’s also very well dressed with a jean jacket, red striped shirt, and a pair of tight ripped black jeans. Dan feels his mouth water and his bites his lip as he notices the Starbucks cup in Phil’s hand.

“I got you Starbucks because most people like Starbucks, I hope?”

“I love Starbucks actually.” Dan says with a laugh. He takes the drink from Phil’s hand and takes a sip of it.

It’s an iced caramel macchiato, one of his favorite drinks. It’s kind of amazing how Phil managed to get his favorite drink by total chance.

“I suppose you want your reward now?” Dan asks, backing up into his flat and letting Phil inside.

Phil shockingly shakes his head. “I wasn’t doing it for the, you know, blow job. I just wanted to be friendly more than anything.”

The words cut deep into Dan’s core and he blushes a bit at Phil’s generosity. That’s actually kind of sweet, he thinks.

“Oh, thank you. That’s really sweet.”

“But I won’t be like...be opposed if you wanted to give me a blow job.”

Dan let’s out a snort and sets his drink onto his kitchen counter as he walks Phil into the living room. He pushes Phil back into his couch and Phil goes easy.

Dan sinks to his news because as shocking or not shocking as it may seem, he’s not inexperienced with giving blow jobs. He’s definitely given his fair share of them and he really enjoys them.

He manages to undo Phil’s jeans and open them enough to reach under his boxers and pull him out and damn he’s hung. Dan groans outwardly and Phil looks down at him with flushed cheeks. His cock is heavy and hot in his hand and he strokes a few times up and down to get him riled up.

“If you’re really tired, I can get going.” Phil says standing up and Dan just flashes him a sleepy smile and nods.

He follows Phil to the door and he notices his melted drink still sitting on the counter, a bit sad. As he opens the door and Phil’s heading out, they both stop and Phil turns to him.

Phil gives Dan his number and Dan puts it into his phone and then Phil leaves and everything is lonely and quiet again.

But not for very long as he gets a text from Phil nearly a half an hour later asking if he was free that Saturday...and yes, yes he was.

Summary: Lucy goes to throw eggs at her ex's house and finds some else is already doing it. She joins the strange, pink-haired boy and gets to know him in the process.

 Lucy parked down the street, just for safe measure.  Taking a deep breath, she threw her black hoodie on to cover her golden locks of hair, which would only serve to help identify her if left exposed.  She couldn’t have that happen.  Not when what she was doing was technically illegal.

Stashing her wallet in the glovebox, she grabbed the carton of eggs that was sitting on the passenger seat.  She turned on her phone’s flashlight, for she needed to make sure she got the right house.  Taking another deep breath to calm her jittery nerves, the girl mustered up some courage before swinging the car door open and heading out into the night. 

Lucy Heartfilia was a good person.  More than good, actually. She was exceptional.  She had straight A’s, never missed a class, and spread kindness through every person she met.  But tonight, she was going to channel her inner rebel for some revenge.  Tonight, she was going to egg someone’s house.

Not just anyone’s house.  Her ex-boyfriend’s house.  The sleazy dude deserved it after everything he had done. 

Clutching the carton of eggs to her chest, Lucy kept looking over her shoulder to make sure that nobody was around.  It was nearly two in the morning, so the chances of someone going on a stroll were slim to none.  So far, the odds were in her favor.

As Lucy approached the correct house at the corner of the street, her heart dropped to her stomach as she saw someone else.  They were clad in similar clothing as her, black sweats and a black hoodie that shadowed over their face and hid their features. 

Lucy stopped in her tracks.  What kind of person goes out at that time of night in all black clothing?  Only murderers do that!

Then again, I’m out here…”

But that was different.  She was there for justice!  This person, she had no idea what they were doing. 

Swallowing thickly, the girl was about to turn and head back to her car.  Perhaps she could get revenge a different way.  A less dangerous way that wouldn’t get her in trouble.

But then the person turned towards her.

Lucy stifled a scream, willing her legs to turn back and run.  To just run to her car and get the hell out of there. 

“Shit,” she heard the person mutter.  It was a boy judging from their voice. 

Lucy shivered in her spot, sweat dripping down her face.  Her stomach felt like a washing machine as the person began to walk towards her.  Unfortunately, Lucy wasn’t a fight or flight type of person.  She was the kind of person who froze in times like these.  All she could do was watch as the boy approached. 

He stopped just in front of her.  Lucy couldn’t make out any of his features thanks to it being nearly pitch black, along with his hoodie shadowing over his face. 

Great, if he hurts me, now I won’t be able to identify him.”

Lucy squeezed her eyes shut.  If the guy was going to kill her, she’d rather not watch.

“Who the hell are you?” he asked, shocking her.

Lucy opened her eyes, peering at him again.  At his rude tone of voice, the fear that had consumed her before was replaced with irritation.  Glaring back at him, she shot back, “Who the hell are you?”

“That’s none of your business!” the boy replied, looking over his shoulders.  “Just get the hell out of here!  And don’t tell anyone you saw someone here!”

“So you are a killer?” Lucy asked, her brows drooping in concern as she took a fearful step back.

“What the hell?  Of course I’m not a killer!  Why would you think that?”

“You just said-!”

“I’m not a killer!  I’m just egging someone’s house!”

Lucy closed her mouth, her eyes growing wide.  Sure enough, glancing down at his hands, she found an egg resting in one of them rather than the gun she was imagining.

“No way,” she breathed out.  “Me too.”

“What?”

“Me too!”  Lucy showed him the carton of eggs. 

“No way!  That’s awesome!”

Lucy pointed her flashlight at the house she was going to target.  There were already some egg remnants splattered over the wood frames.  She turned towards him.

“Wait, why are you egging this house?  Do you know Dan too?” she asked.

“Nope.  I lost a bet and as punishment, I’m supposed to egg this entire street and try not to get caught.”

“Well, you chose a stupid time to do that then.”

“Oi!  You’re out here too, you know!”

“That’s because I know Dan and his schedule.  He’s out right now. But with everyone else, I’m sure they’ll be home sleeping, and throwing an egg at their house will just wake them up.  You need to do it while they’re at work.”

The boy brought a hand to the back of his head, rubbing it as he gave an awkward chuckle.  “Huh.  Guess I didn’t think about that.”  He glanced towards the house.  “So, wanna join me?”

“Okay!”

Lucy set down the carton of eggs on the pavement.  Opening it, she grabbed some ammunition.  Her heart pounded in her chest, a wave of excitement rushing over her.  She’d never done anything like this before, and once she was done, she was never going to do it again.  It just wasn’t her scene.

Looking over her shoulders to make sure nobody else was around, the girl chucked an egg at Dan’s house, wincing as she heard it crack against his door.  It was fun, but also terrifying at the same time.  It was exhilarating.

A giddy laugh slipped past the girl’s lips as she covered her mouth with her hands. 

“Wow.  This is actually kind of fun,” she said, turning towards her partner in crime.

“It is, huh?” he replied.  He threw an egg at the house again.  “So, what’s your name?”

“Why?”

“I’d like to know who I’m breaking the law with.”

She giggled.  “I’m Lucy.  And you are?”

“Natsu!  Nice to meet ya, Luigi!”

“It’s Lucy!”

“Yeah, yeah.  Lucy, Luigi, sounds the same to me.”

She rolled her eyes.  “Shut up.”  Grabbing another egg, she furrowed her brows as she threw it as hard as she could at the door.  It landed on the doorknob, bringing a grin to her face.  Next time Dan went to open his door, his hand would land on the slimy yolk.  “He deserves it.”

“So, why’re you egging this dude’s house?” Natsu asked, bringing her out of her thoughts.

Lucy shrugged.  “He deserves it.”

“What’d he do?”

“He’s my ex.  He cheated on me.”

“Oh.  Sorry about that.”

“Don’t be,” Lucy replied, waving him off.  “Don’t get me wrong, I’m pissed he cheated on me.  You shouldn’t cheat on anyone.  But we weren’t together that long so it doesn’t sting that much.”

“Then why are you doing this?” Natsu asked.

“Because the girl he cheated on me with is a girl I know from school.  She’s one of the sweetest girls I know, and once she found out he was cheating on the both of us, she was devastated.  Turns out they were together longer than we were, so her feelings ran pretty deep.  I’m doing this for her.  She didn’t ask me to, but the guy deserves it.”

“He sure does,” Natsu replied, throwing three eggs at once.  All of them landed on the window.  “You don’t think he’ll blame you for it if he calls the cops?”

“If he does, I’ll just tell them I saw you doing it.”

“Oi!  That’s just evil!”

“I’m kidding!” Lucy replied, followed by a soft giggle.  “Dan won’t go to the cops.  He hates them. Not to mention there are a lot of people that hate him, he won't be able to pin it on me.”

“Hope you’re right about that,” Natsu replied.  “I can’t afford a ticket, and I especially can’t afford goin’ to jail over a few eggs.”

A content silence fell over the two as they continued to throw eggs at the house.  Every crack against the wood frames made Lucy feel a little bit better.  She’d never been cheated on before now, but it wasn’t a good feeling, no matter how serious she was with Dan.  Revenge was sweet.

And enacting her plan of revenge with an interesting guy at her side was just extra icing on the cake.

“So, do you go to school?” Natsu asked, bringing her out of her thoughts.

“Yeah, I go to Magnolia University,” she answered.

“Same here!  Whatcha majoring in?”

“Creative Writing.  What about you?”

“I’m a STEM major.”

“Seriously?”  Lucy turned towards him, her mouth parted wide.  “You don’t strike me as the type.”

“How so?” Natsu asked with a chuckle.

“Well, I just figured STEM majors are stuck studying all the time and not out breaking the law.”

“Ehh, well, studying’s not really my thing.  Breaking the law usually isn’t either, but dares and bets are.  I’m just really good at math and science, and my friend told me I should just get my major and then I’ll be able to get any job I want.”

“Sounds smart enough.”

“What about you?  You write stories?”

Warmth traveled to Lucy’s cheeks.  “Uhh, yeah.”

“You should let me read one!”

Lucy arched a brow.  Was he implying that he wanted to hang out after this whole fiasco?  Her blush deepened.  She wouldn’t oppose to that.  However…

“Nope.  My friend is going to be my first reader,” she said.  Picking up another egg, she aimed for a part of Dan’s house that hadn’t been marked yet.  “But if you want, I can lend you some other books that I like.”

“Nah,” Natsu replied with a shrug.  “I’m not really into reading.  I just wanted to read yours.”

Lucy was glad that it was dark out.  Otherwise, her tomato-red face would have been visible.  

“W-Well, too bad.”  She chucked another egg.  “So, what was that bet you lost anyways?”

Natsu snorted.  “I was at the pub with my friends- you know the one downtown, Fairy Tail?  I was there and my friend Gray dared me to get this one girl��s number.”

“What happened?”

He shrugged.  “Somethin’ about my eating habits disgusted her, so she turned me down.”

“Eating habits?” Lucy thought, trying to imagine someone with bad enough table manners that would prevent them from getting a date.  “I’m sorry you got turned down.”

“Ehh, I’m not,” he replied.  “I wouldn’t wanna go on a date just because of some bet anyways.  Especially with some random girl I don’t even know.”  He turned to her, and the only thing she could see beneath his hoodie was a wide grin.  “Thanks to me losin’ that bet, I got to meet you and end up egging this guy’s house!”

A bright smile spread across her face.  “Then I’m happy you lost.  Now I have a partner in crime.  Literally.”

“Yep!  How old is my partner in crime, by the way?”

“Twenty.  What about you?”

“Twenty-one.  Ha, I’m older!”

Lucy nudged him playfully.  “Don’t get so cocky, it’s only by one year.”

“Listen, kid-!”

Lucy slapped his arm.  “I’m not a kid!”

Natsu cackled, his mischievous laughter filling the air.  Lucy couldn’t help but join in, his laughter contagious.  It wasn’t too high, nor too low.  It was just right.

Talking to Natsu was easy.  Even though they knew next to nothing about each other, she felt like she had known him her whole life.  He was down-to-earth, funny, and had a personality that made her want to get to know him even better.

She hoped he would ask her out by the end of the night.

As Lucy was about to throw another egg, a blinding light appeared as a car turned the corner right next to them.  Squinting at the car, her stomach dropped to the ground as she recognized it to belong to a certain ex of hers.  

“Shit,” Lucy muttered.  “That’s Dan.”

“What!?” Natsu replied, whipping his head towards the car, in which a man started to climb out.  

“Who are you guys?” Dan asked, taking slow step towards them.  “Wait, are those eggs?  Are you egging my house?”

“What do we do?” Natsu whispered to her.

“It’s simple,” she replied.  “Run!”

Grabbing his hand, she made a dash towards the end of the street.  Turned out she could be a flight kind of person as long as she had someone with her. Her heart thrashed around in her chest, partly due to the warm hand locked with hers, but mainly because of the man that was chasing after them.  At least Dan wasn’t much of a runner.

“Where are we going?” Natsu asked.

“My car!  We’re getting the hell out of here!” she answered.  “There it is!”

Reaching the car, Lucy let go of his hand to go to the driver’s door.  She unlocked the car for them, sliding into her seat and locking the doors once Natsu was settled.  She could see Dan charging towards the car in the rearview mirror.  Her hands shook trying to jiggle the key into the ignition before Dan reached them, otherwise he would recognize her.  

“Uhh, feel free to speed it up!” Natsu exclaimed.

“I’m trying!  My hand won’t stop shaking!” she shot back.

Natsu groaned before taking her hand in his.  His large hand covered her smaller one, guiding it steadily towards the ignition.  Once it was in, she quickly turned  key, bringing the car to life.  

“Let’s go!” Lucy shouted, flooring it just as Dan reached the bumper.  The tires screeched across the pavement as the two made their escape.  As Dan’s form slowly started to disappear from the rearview mirror, a boisterous laugh slipped past her lips in excitement.  “We did it, Natsu!  We-!”  

Glancing over at the boy, she found him slouched over and giving hushed groans and occasional whimpers.  

“Natsu?” she asked, her voice laced in concern.  “What’s wrong?”

“Motion… sickness,” he answered, followed by another whimper.

Lucy blanched.  “Motion sickness?  Are you serious?”  He nodded. “That is the lamest thing I have ever heard.”

“Shut up.”

Lucy turned on the carlight to see how he was holding up.  Glancing over at him, she could see that his face was pale and dotted with sweat beneath his hood.  His cheeks were puffed out, a sign that he was going to throw up any second.

A shrill squeal escaped Lucy’s mouth as she shoved her hand against Natsu’s cheek and pushed him towards the window.

“Don’t throw up in my car!” she shouted.

Rolling down the window, she peeked at Natsu and watched as he stuck his head out the window.  His hood flew back in the wind, revealing pink tufts of hair.  Her eyes went wide, her mouth parting slightly.

“You have pink hair,” she said absentmindedly.

“Yeah,” Natsu grumbled in reply.  His voice was strained from his sickness.  “Probably another reason I got turned down for that date.  People aren’t really a fan.”

“I-I like it.”

“You do?” he asked, turning to look at her.

Lucy nodded, ignoring the blush rising to her cheeks.  “Pink is my favorite color.”

Natsu’s lips twitched upwards into a small smile.  “What about you?  I haven’t had the chance to get a good look at you yet. Are you bald or something?”

“Oh, right.  And no I'm not bald, idiot.”  Lucy brought her hand up to her hood before taking it off.  Natsu’s eyes went wide.  “Yeah, I’m just a blonde.”  She’d heard enough blonde jokes to last a lifetime.  She figured he might as well get them out now.

“Your hair isn’t just blonde.  It’s golden!”

She flushed, keeping her eyes on the road.  “Th-Thanks.  So, where do you live?  I need your address so I can drop you off.”

Natsu opened his mouth to reply when his eyes grew to the size of golf-balls.  Shoving his head out the window, he hurled what felt like all of his insides.  Lucy screamed.

“You actually barfed!  It’s illegal to throw up out of a car window while driving!” she cried.

“Well then…  that’s two illegal things we did tonight,” Natsu replied, his head hanging out the window.

“Forget it!  I’ll just bring you over to my place!”

“Wow, Luce.  Shouldn’t you at least ask me on a date first?”

“Don’t joke about dates after throwing up!”

They drove in a content silence until Natsu spoke next. 

“You know, I never finished my punishment for the bet,” he stated.

“What do you mean?” Lucy asked, peeking at him.

“I was supposed to egg the entire street, but we only got Dan’s.”

“Who cares?  I think egging one house is good enough!  I’m sure your friends will understand.”

“Nope.  They won’t.  Only way I can think of getting out of another punishment is managing to get a date like I was supposed to.”

Lucy glanced towards him.  “Oh?  With that girl from before?”

Natsu rubbed the back of his head, his cheeks starting to match his hair.  “I’m sure they’d accept any girl.  So, what do you say?  Wanna go on a date, Luce?”

Lucy’s cheeks were set ablaze.  “A-Are you serious?”

“Yeah of course.  Why wouldn’t I be?”

“Well, I don’t want to go on a date just to get you out of your punishment.”

Natsu sighed, running a hand through his hair.  “Luuucy!  That was just my attempt to be smooth and you ruined it!  Of course that’s not why I’m asking you out, weirdo!”

“Oh.  Then yes!  I’d love to go on a date with you, Natsu.”

The two shared an eager grin.  Their night was crazy, to say the least.  To think that such a good thing could come out of getting cheated on and losing a bet made them think that maybe it wasn’t so bad after all.

Extraordinary You Thoughts Ep 1-8 feat. Differences From the Webtoon

Okay, so first things first... I AM LOVING THIS SHOW SO FREAKING MUCH! I love absolutely everything about it! The characters are amazing, Dan Oh is so much fun, I can’t get enough of her. Haru is so beautiful and cute and ahhh. Kyung is such a jerk but he wears it so well??? Plus, knowing he really doesn’t have much choice in the matter helps. Ju Da and Nam Ju’s story is actually so much fun BECAUSE they’re in a Boys Over Flowers remake but our mains are aware of how dumb it is so it’s actually very enjoyable!

I am actually looking forward to watching this one every week, it’s given me my much-needed drama obsession for the next couple of months or so.

It’s VERY different from the webtoon, but I think it kind of works (for me) because of that? Like, I keep looking forward to figuring out what those changes mean. I am excited to see where they lead! But I do want to talk about them for a sec. 

A short disclaimer: when I talk about the “comic” I am actually talking about “Secrets” - the original comic from which Dan Oh comes and lives inside. It’s a romance comic that has its own plot and all the characters of the webtoon are part of it.

When I talk about the webtoon, I am talking about the actual webtoon that you can read, in which Dan Oh is a self-aware comic character trying to change her fate as an extra. 

SPOILERS FOR THE WEBTOON!!

The Set-Up

In the Drama they went for a more “Boys Over Flowers”-esque type of story, with three hot friends who are the highlight of their rich kids' high school, and the one poor girl who transferred in and has the guts to stand up to the leader of them. It has scenes like girls ganging up on her to bully her, the leader saying “don’t touch what’s mine” and being all contrary, the special F4 A3 club room/space that makes you wonder about this school funding and if this is really where it should be going and more familiar hits.

And you know what? I totally get it! It’s a cognetive shortcut. We don’t need anyone to explain to us what’s going on in the Comic Plot because we’ve all been there and done that before, allowing the drama to focus on Dan Oh and her reactions to everything around her. Plus, it allows for some very fun commentary from Dan Oh that proves dramas have come a long way and now recognize how exceptionally dumb and cringy much of what we see in them is. 

I do wonder if they are going to incorporate their original backstories somehow, the same as they are doing with Baek Kyung, because the comic is still named Secrets, and that was a very big part of why. 

Basically, In the Webtoon, you still have three hot friends, but they don’t have their own special area and all of those things. Many of the BOF scenes are not part of this setup. Instead, Ju Da, the main character of the Comic “Secrets” is actually a childhood friend of the comic’s second male lead, Do Hwa. As a child, she went through a horrific experience, which Do Hwa is aware of. She has PTSD and selective amnesia, which means she gets panic attacks from loud sounds and glass shards but has never actually dealt with her trauma because she can’t remember it. She transferred to their school with Nam Joo’s help after her grandmother’s death and has a contract with him that has to do with his secret. They also share a childhood connection. Their relationship is different and more complex than what it is in the drama (so far). Therefore, their interactions are of a different nature than they are in the drama.

Part of what is so great about the webtoon is that it deals with really difficult subjects. The drama so far looks so fluffy and fun in comparison, that I can’t help but wonder how these elements would be incorporated, if at all.

Dan Oh & her Family Life

Webtoon Dan Oh is a much more reserved character than Drama Dan Oh. She is not innocent sweet in her “comic version”, and she is not energetic say-what-comes-to-her-mind in her self aware version, either. She is cool, both in a “she’s so cool!” meaning and “wow, she doesn’t show many emotions” type of way. 

Her parents care mostly about money, and actually, don’t pay her much attention. They use her about the same way Baek Kyung’s asshole dad uses him. They are both alive and in the picture, too.

And, most importantly, she is terminally ill from the get-go and she finds that out in her “character concept” from the comic. So, her actions are in part directed by the unfairness of knowing that the author probably doesn’t even mean for her to survive until the end of the comic. Her story is full of emotions, heartbreak, and hope, and it’s really touching. But she does it all more subtly and quietly than Drama Dan Oh. 

Webtoon Dan Oh is also very much an extra. At least as far as the main comic story is concerned. Yes, she obviously has her scenes with Baek Kyung that give her some more story and relevancy, but in most of the scenes she appears in with regards to Ju Da and Num Joo’s story, she is a one-liner character if at all. She often wonders why the author brought her all the way to the scene just for this. 

Drama Dan Oh is very different, and, look, I ain’t complaining. Drama Dan Oh is all I said Webtoon Dan Oh is not, and that makes sense. In a Webtoon, we have free access to the character's thoughts. Even if she is not as expressive, we know her true thoughts and feelings and so we don’t need that extra energy. A drama doesn’t have that luxury--if we spent all the drama just hearing her thoughts without her really emoting, I don’t think we’d be all that interested. And Drama Dan Oh is so much fun. She is what makes it breezy and funny and refreshing. But that also means her story, so far, is not as poignant and painful. That’s not to say we won’t get there--but for now, it’s lighter and more fun.

As for her family, Drama Dan Oh has a father who would die for her and a loving mother who has already passed away. I kind of feel like thanking the script-writer of the drama for giving Dan Oh something. In the Webtoon, it felt very unfair that the comic writer thought to saddle her not only with a terminal illness and a jerk of a fiance who hates her but also with a greedy, money-hungry family. C’mon, give a girl a break!

Drama Dan Oh is not really an extra, is she? I mean, in the drama, she feels much more like a side character, especially as they made her the “love bridge”, as she calls it, between Ju Da and Nam Joo. It means that she actually appears in many scenes related to Nam Joo and Ju Da. I get that because you do want to give your main character more screen time, but at the same time, it’s a bit weird that she’s considered an extra in this world? 

Haru

boy do I have things to say about this one. Because they gave him so much to do in this? Not that I mind, of course. Haru is beautiful and I am here for him to grace my screen for as long as he possibly can, but it does make me wonder where they are going with it.

In The Webtoon, Haru’s role within Secret really is a nameless extra. He has nothing specific to do, no role in Secret’s story whatsoever. He barely appears on stage and when he does it’s background. His relationship with Dan Oh is so bittersweet because it is filled with waiting and lounging--waiting for scenes in which they both exist, so they can sneak off and be together while the script is running around them. They communicate any way they can, looking forward to the quiet moments they can spend together, alone, away from the cold hand of the author. He only becomes active when it becomes dangerous for Dan Oh, and even then, he needs the help of a main character,  Baek Kyung, to be able to do something.

The drama is taking a different approach, which actually makes me wonder if the Drama is combining Haru with Dried Squid Fairy from the webtoon, what with the questions about flowers and secret places he shouldn’t know about, the cautious way he approaches Dan Oh, and the allusion to historical places. 

Drama Haru actually has a talent that differentiates him--he can draw, and really really well. He appears to have been self-aware long before Dan Oh, which doesn’t necessarily contradict the webtoon, but the fact he appears to have been following her--from afar--for quite a while, is. And why? 

the biggest, most groundbreaking difference... Drama Haru actually appears on stage! With Dan Oh! And Baek Kyung! He is literally becoming a part of Dan Oh’s comic book plot. That... that doesn’t happen in the webtoon! For Baek Kyung to get angry at Haru and Dan Oh for having fun together, and for other people to remember it, is actually extraordinary when you look at it in the context of the webtoon. It means that in this version, things really are changing, and changing drastically. Is Haru actually going to be a love rival for Baek Kyung, not just in the Shadows, but on Stage as well? 

While I don’t mind that idea at all, it changes everything. Like, for real. It changes the idea of fighting your destiny and carving your own, against impossible challenges. It changes the tone and nature of his and Dan Oh’s relationship. It changes the type of heartbreaking scenes we can expect.

Dried Squid Fairy

possibly the dumbest character name to ever appear in a drama, but what can you do.

A little bummed he doesn’t have a bunny companion like in the webtoon, but it’s not like that bunny made sense in the webtoon context, either, so I’m not surprised.

A little bummed he doesn’t have long blond hair, because it was so funny when he pointed out how that hair made NO SENSE for a cafeteria worker. 

I feel like his backstory might have been given to Haru, which is a bit of a bummer. In the Webtoon, he is actually a character from a different comic--a historical one--in which he originally became self-aware to disastrous results. The author loves him so much that she/he has given him more than “one life” in his/her comics, much to his aggravation.

I get the feeling they just want a break, really.

You look over to the man sitting across you and a smile appears on your face as you continue to watch him devour his favourite, waffles and blueberries. You cannot help the giggle that escape your mouth when Ben accidentally drops his blueberries before the fork actually reaches his mouth and he glances at you, quirking one of his eyebrows.

“What’s so funny?” Ben pouts as he picks up the blueberries that he dropped, and you giggle again. Ben’s cheeks flush slightly but he lifts his fork up towards you. You lean over to eat the blueberries, nodding your head at the very familiar taste. “Thanks for accompanying me here today, babe.”

You shake your head, swallowing the blueberries. “The least I can do after that.” You point to his busted lip, a frown appearing on your face when you recall the incident that happened the night before. The two of you had gone out on a date and had been walking from the movie theatre towards your apartment when some men had decided to do one of the most disgusting things on earth: cat-calling you and in his attempt to stand up for you, he had gotten punched on the face, busting his lips. “I love you, Ben, but I can handle myself.”

Ben sighs and reaches over to hold your hand. You intertwine your fingers with him and Ben gives you a small smile. “I know you can, Y/N, you are one of the strongest ladies I have ever met but I still want to be able to be there for you. What they were saying last night was just disgusting and downright despicable.” Ben grumbles, furrowing his eyebrows together. Honestly, there is nothing Ben would not do for you – even if he gets punched in the face because of his own actions.

You give him a small smile at his sweet words and lean over the table to press a light kiss on his lips. “Love you very much.” You pull back, only to see Ben smiling at you widely and you blush slightly at the amount of adoration and love you seen on his face. “Did your family say anything about your lip?”

Ben chuckles, nodding his head. “Klaus would not stop laughing at me but Allison sort of disapproved and agreed on how I handled the entire situation.” He had gotten an earful from Pogo though when he came back with the busted lips. Thankfully, Pogo only saw the busted lips and not the bruise on his rib. Pogo would probably have made Grace give him the once-over and deem him unfit to leave the house for a while.

“We should just walk away next time. I rather you not get hurt anymore; I don’t like seeing your handsome face all busted up like this.” You wink at him and Ben laughs, wincing slightly at the pain on his rib and he shakes his head. “Let’s go; I want to visit the bookstore before heading home.”

“Anything for you, babe.”

True to his words, the next few times you were catcalled, Ben merely glared at them, wrapping his arm around your waist tighter as he pulled you close, making sure that you are walking on the opposite sight from the men. It sickens him how women are often treated as objects but he did promise you that he would try to down his overprotectiveness and Ben doesn’t go back on any of his words.

That was until that one night.

Allison had come back to town to do some press tour for the new upcoming movie she is starring in and Ben and you had only just left the after-party. You are wearing one of the dresses that Ben absolutely adores on you because not only did it show off your figure, it also highlighted your beautiful eyes and truth be told, Ben has always have a weakness for your eyes. So, it wasn’t really a surprise when Ben stops you from walking just so he can give you a good kiss at the side of the road, ignoring the whistles and catcalls from other passers-by.

You pull back, breathing heavily as you stare at your boyfriend and Ben gives you a knee-wobbling smile as he pushes your hair away from your face. He leans in to give you one more kiss when someone slaps a hand on your ass, causing you to squeal in surprise, bumping in to Ben.

“Nice dress, babe – do you mind sharing?” The man guffaws as he stares at you lewdly. You immediately furrow your eyebrows, frowning at him and the man laughs once more, wetting his lips. “What a feisty one; are you just as feisty in bed?”

Ben’s trembling with anger and he clenches his fists, trying his hardest not to let his grip on his powers loose because that’s just going to be a pain in the ass and he isn’t looking forward to hearing any lectures from Pogo or Sir Reginald himself. “What did you just say?” He growls out in anger and the man laughs right in Ben’s face but before Ben could even lift his hand up, you had moved past him, surprising Ben and he stumbles backward and his jaw drops the moment your hand connects with the man’s nose so hard, Ben hears the crack. “Shit, Y/N!”

The man falls on the ground, groaning as blood spurts out of his nose and his words are mumbled as he shouts something at you incoherently. You are about to kick him again when Ben wraps an arm around your waist, pulling you to him and away from the fallen man.

“That was so amazing – where the hell did you learn how to punch like that, babe?” Ben asks incredulously, looking back at the man who is being helped by his buddies. Ben presses a hand on your back, making sure that the both of you are safe from the man. “Your hand alright?”

You nod your head, smiling at Ben who still looks like he is in awe over what you have just done. Normally, you wouldn’t resort to using violence but that man deserved it for slapping your ass like it was his property! You nod your head at his question, letting Ben take a look at your hand. He presses his lips gently on your knuckles, staring up at you. “Well, did I never tell you?”

Ben pulls back, shaking his head. “You’ve told me quite a lot of things and I would normally remember most of them but…” He trails off, racking his mind to see if you ever told him anything else that is important. He shakes his head once more. “No.”

Your mouth forms a small ‘o’ when you realize you hadn’t exactly told your boyfriend. You shrug your shoulders. “I am a 10thDan in Judo.” You tell him cheekily and Ben’s eyes widens. “That’s why I keep telling you that I can handle myself, babe.”

“Damn.” Ben chuckles amused by your revelation. He pulls you into his arms, hugging you very tightly, and you laugh into his chest as you wrap your own arms around his torso. “You’re amazing, Y/N.” He presses his lips on your temple and you grin at him.

“You’re amazing too, Ben.”

No one really knows about TRR Main characters past …. Most of this series is based on flashbacks from her childhood. I’ve changed the main characters name to, Freya Johnson as Riley Brooks is used in my other series.

Freya is in love with Drake, but he hasn’t returned the feelings- instead just acts horrible towards her. Will Freya return back to Cordonia with the court or will she stay in the USA after the UN party.

Daniel remembers back to the last time he did something behind Freya’s back. She was so sweet but a psycho when mad. Last time he interfered in her love life she didn’t talk to him for a week, but last time he did punch her cheating boyfriend. This time, he was trying to help Freya’s life by guiding her friends to understand the secret she had kept from them.

“Good job I brought my daggers with me! Why on earth are we at a grave yard? I could be sipping champagne now!” Olivia snapped at Daniel, his eyes widened at her attitude- she scared the shit out of him already.

“Right, erm. Please don’t hurt me Miss Olivia. There’s two ‘people’ I’d like you all to meet.” The gang looked at each, confusion written all over each of their faces. Daniel continued.

“This is Grace and Paul. They were sadly taken away from us eight years ago. Myself and Freya used to come here all the time- but especially on one date. On that date, Freya would write a diary and explain everything that they are missing... myself and Freya came here earlier on before she stood you all up...” As Daniel continued speaking, Liam and Drake bent down and looked at the grave closely.

“Grace and Paul Johnson.” Drake turned to Liam as he said it.

“Her parents..” They both said in unison- as they looked concerned, they stood back up and continued to listen to Daniel.

“... anyway, she finally came here and updated her diary. I can’t believe what all of you have been through- it’s like you’re all staring in reality tv.” Daniel jokingly said to them all. The were like Aliens - not understanding exactly what reality tv was.

Daniel pointed to the diary and read it out to them all. Afterwards he pointed over to each of the photos.

“I hope y’all don’t mind but she put some pictures of her journey with you all and wrote something about each of you. Maybe if you all read them she... she cares for you all. And trust me, she is stubborn so for her to care about so many people is amazing.”

They each picked up their picture with the note attached, they read it out loud to the other friends. Liam began..

You remember when I told you fairytales are silly and only happen in films? Well, little Freya just the waitress actually stared in ‘one of those films’. I met a Prince at our bar one night- the night that I could have killed Dan for leaving me in the shit. His name is Liam. Crown Prince- now King Of Cordonia. For some reason he and three of his friends stumbled into our bar. If you ask me they really chose the shittest place in New York to come for food and drinks.

As the evening went on, I could see Liam’s eyes locked on me. This was kind of intimidating. Why would a stranger keep looking over? I was really ready to kill Daniel now. After closing time, I went out with them all and we had some kind of connection. He was so lovely, charming and someone who would make a great friend. I thought I’d never see him again. When I entered his social season, I instantly fell in love with his personality. He is now classed as my friend. Little Freya having royalty as friends- you was correct to believe in fairytales mom.

This morning, Liam asked me out to breakfast. I didn’t think anything of it so agreed. Instead he took me for a walk near to the Statue of Liberty- we sat on a bench it was full circle, where I had taken him that first night. Liam is a kind man and I know he will find the most perfect Queen, he told me he would have proposed to me. If he had physically asked those four words, I couldn’t say yes. I opened up to him about everything - explaining that I couldn’t return to his country. Suddenly by my surprise, he understood my reasoning - I think and surprised me again by explaining that he was going to offer for me to become a duchess. He has so much faith in me, if I didn’t get my new job I’d have possibly been contemplating this role. He is a young king with a great future ahead of him- I am grateful to have him as a close friend.

Hana. What can I say about Hana. She is absolutely amazing at everything she does. I’m kind of jealous of all the talents she has. Anyone would be lucky to have her, I am privileged to call her my best friend. She is the most kind hearted woman I have ever met, even behind all that shyness. Apart from Maxwell, she was the first friend I made in Cordonia- I actually walked into the boutique and embarrassed her as she was stood in only her underwear. Since then, we keep laughing about the awkwardness on our first meeting. When I returned to Cordonia, she also returned- together we make the A team. We are so different, I tell people the truth about what I think- I defend myself. Where as Hana will play things down to not hurt anyone’s feelings. She has a heart of gold, but damn this girl needs to stop with the low esteem- she is amazing! And I am honoured to call her my best friend.

Maxwell. This man. If I could choose anyone to be my brother, it would be Maxi. His personality is so hyperactive, where does he get this energy from? He’s not a typical Lord- he’s the fun one! I’d need to sup a hundred black coffees before I caught up to him. This man is the reason for my adventure beginning in Cordonia and Europe- if not I’d still be stuck at that shitty bar. Thank you Maxwell. He’s known as the spare heir, thank goodness- I don’t know how he’d cope being head of Beaumont- it would be a disaster due to him enjoying having too much fun. Or maybe that is what a Duke should be like? Maybe his brother is just too uptight? Maxwell is the most sweetest and kindest person I have ever met. He always thinks positive! The way any person should think- he’s a role model to us all with that. Dad you’d have loved Maxwell, he could have shown you how to ‘not dad dance’. Dancing is Max’s forte- but I also taught him how to slut drop- sorry not sorry. Thank you for everything Maxi.

The Scarlett Duchess, Olivia. My god I hated her at first, I’m sure the feeling was mutual if not more. She tried to sabotage my image at court and embarrass me. She is in love with Liam, I honestly think behind all of those layers and daggers- yes I mean real daggers- she would make the best queen for Liam and Cordonia. As our time together has gone by, I have began to love her, she’s sweet but a psycho. And I will continue to try and knock those walls down. Even if Olivia doesn’t want to admit it with her sharp tongue, she is the best friend who will help come through any shit storm with all her determination. I’m a hugger, I’m a lover, she will always refuse to hug back- but one of these days I will get her to do it. Even if she won’t admit it we are FRIENNNDDDSS.

Drake Walker. Known as Liam’s shadow. But there is so much more to this man. When I first met him, he was so laid back, cocky and handsome. Drake has had a hard time, he lost his father like I lost you both. I feel this is one of the connections that draw us close together and the fact that he isn’t noble but also half American. Fate I’d say. Shame he doesn’t feel the same towards me. This man is the most loyal man I’ve met, but such a cynical bastard and a total jerk to me. Like Olivia he has built walls around him and I was determined to knock each and every one down but failed. When I’m around him I feel vulnerable and my heart flutters- he doesn’t know this. I first started to fall for him at Olivia’s duchy, when I followed him out in the snow after defending him- don’t worry I was wrapped up. Drake has always had my back through the shit even if it did take him ages to open up to me. He rescued me when one of the nobles was so close to raping me, that was the first time that he seemed sincere towards me and not a cocky bastard. At that moment I’d fallen hard for him. My feelings towards Drake are uncontrollable- never wanting to leave his side even if he insists that he gets ‘lumbered’ with me. I need to follow my head rather than my heart, I never thought I’d find love until I met Drake. Without him in my life I need to keep occupied. He will always be my jerk best friend.

After Drake finished reading his note, he was shell shocked, her honesty was exactly what he felt towards her. Guilt panged in his heart after making eye contact with Liam. Loyal as he was, he would have never told Liam about his true feelings- the only person that knew was Maxwell. They had been best friends since a young age, he didn’t want a girl to cause friction between them no matter how much they both loved her.

“Li. I- I.. I’m so sorry.”

The friends all looked concerned. Daniel suddenly regretted bringing them here now. He didn’t realise they would read their notes out to each other- just assumed they would read it between themselves and keep quiet. This was one of the worse decisions he had made in his life, he thought.

“Drake.. I- I don’t know what to say. Did you know she felt that way? Do you feel the same?”

“You’re my best friend Li. I knew she had some feelings, she called me her ‘hot date’... I can’t help how I feel about her. I didn’t want to let her know how I feel- I was assuming she would choose you. I text her how I felt, and she never mentioned about it- she must have blocked me or deleted it without reading it. You out of everyone should know how she makes people feel. Shit! I’m so sorry.”

“Would you have told me? If we didn’t find out this way? What if I did propose and she had accepted?”

“Li, I don’t honestly know? I’d have probably left for Texas or to stay with Sav.”

“Drake, this morning I was going to ask her, but I thought I’d mention it first- she remained silent so I knew she didn’t want it, the colour from her face drained. But I understand that people have to follow their hearts. Now it all makes sense, I asked you to keep an eye on her during my social season. I want her in my life. Even if that is as a friend. I love her. I always will do. You’ve never been good with feelings regarding relationships have you?”

“I guess not.”

“Drake Walker, you need to look after her. It’s up to you to convince her to return with us. Don’t ever give up on her, promise?” Liam went to pat drake on the shoulder. Then whispered in his ear, “You have my blessing.”

A moment later, everyone’s phones started buzzing.

Hey guys, sorry I stood you all up. Being back in New York has made me feel sentimental. I hope you all understand that I needed a few hours to myself. I’m safe. Don’t worry about me. I will meet you all at the hotel later on. Freya x

All her friends check their phones and were all relieved that she was fine. They all begin to head back saying bye and thank you to Daniel. Just then Daniel handed an envelope to one of them discreetly. Inside the envelope there was a note

Meet me on your own. I need to talk to you. Daniel will drop you off at the location. Freya x

“Er, I’m just going to walk Daniel back to his car. I’ll see you at the hotel.” They all nodded in unison, as they waved goodbye.

Freya was waiting at the beach taking in the beautiful sight and the cool air swaying her long brown curls. Unaware that her friends stormed into her old bar and gave Daniel abuse about her whereabouts- she felt relaxed.

She kept thinking about her parents, it was so hard being back in New York. All the memories, then thoughts about that person she needed to confide in.

Will that person even come? How am I going to say what I need to say? Should I tell the truth about my past? I know all about everyones past. Why am I so confused about what to do and say?

Daniel arrived at the beach with the one person that Freya wanted to see. Parking up the car, she wanted to talk to them on her own without everyone there and she trusted Daniel to get that person there. The awkward silence was then broken.

“This is where we came that night of the bachelor party.”

Smiling thinking back at the memory of how beautiful she looked when she joined the four men after the bar closed. The green dress made all their eyes go wide.

“Does she know? That we all know about the diary and her parents?” Daniel looked over towards Freya, feeling guilty. Suddenly it dawned on him, wondering how she would react.

“She wanted me to find you after my shift to tell you to come here. I don’t think she expected for you all the storm into the bar looking for her. I.. I shouldn’t have taken you all there and Frey is probably going to kill me. But she poured her feelings out through words and eventually she would have told you all. I’m sure.”

“I feel like such a jerk. As we all do. We all spoke about our lives to her. Opening up about our pasts. And not one of us asked about hers. She just listened to all of us and gave us support and advise. And...”

Daniel smiles. “That’s just it. That’s what Freya is like. She’s been through so much. But she understands that there is someone out there who’s worse off than she is. That’s what makes her the best friend anyone could ask for and a selfless human being.”

They both look at her. She looked beautiful sat on the cliff, watching the waves crash against the soft sand.

“Go and get your girl. She’s waiting. Convince her to not move away.” Daniel said encouragingly- hoping he would follow his advise.

Please just go and get her. You belong together! Don’t waste anymore time.

“I don’t know what to say to her?”

“Be spontaneous. She loves you. She doesn’t need to physically tell anyone- you can see it in her eyes when your name is mentioned. In fact she told you all, in your note where her heart lies. But she is so stubborn to make the first move. I’m going to leave you together. If you need me to pick you up just drop a text.”

“Thanks Daniel. You’re a great friend to Freya and she is lucky to have you.” Daniels pats him on the shoulder and walks back to the car leaving him alone.

Get a grip man! She loves you. You love her. How did I get this lucky to find someone who loves me for who I am? This never happens to someone like me.

He slowly walks towards the cliff to where Freya is sat. Hearing a car drive off, she turned around and saw him in the distance.

“Drake?”

Drake suddenly began running towards her, Freya ran towards him. When they got within arms reach, Drake picked her up and spun her around. His eyes never leaving hers. When he lowered her down, his hand brushed through her hair. Cupping her cheeks he was desperate to kiss her, but prevented it. He didn’t want to hurt her again.

“Hey!” Freya said as she smiled relieved that Daniel had brought him to her.

“ είσαι όμορφη αγάπη μου! I’ve missed you!”

What language is that? He sounds so sexy. He could have said anything. Shit this is frustrating what did he say?

“You’ve missed me? I’ve missed you too Walker. I’m sorry I didn’t meet you all. I just needed to clear my mind. I need to talk to you.”

“Please let me talk first?”

“Sure.”

“Jono, Freya. I was such a jerk when we first met. I just didn’t want to you know how I felt about you. You were Liam’s suitor. I didn’t want to let my feelings get hurt. Yeah, yeah I’m a total marshmallow before you say it.”

“I wasn’t- well maybe?” She laughed. Her gaze never left his eyes.

“Anyway... I just wanted to say... Σε αγαπώ.” Drake could see confusion written across Freya’s face, before beginning to laugh.

Freya and Hana excel in everything they do. That is probably why they are best friends. But I bet neither can speak Greek- she has no clue what I’m saying, according to her face expression. In fact it wouldn’t surprise me if Hana was fluent in Greek too. This is cruel Walker. Just tell her you love her.

“I love you Freya Johnson. I started falling for you at Lythikos too. I realised I’d fallen in love with you when I thought I’d lost you after you was dragged out of the Coronation ball.”

Lythikos too? How does he know? Daniel!

Come on Freya, I feel like a dickhead if you don’t say anything back. Have I said too much? Shit.

“I love you too Drake. I always have and I always will but....”

“Please don’t stay here. Come back with us. I know I’ve been a jerk. I know I always said I got ‘lumbered’ with you but deep down I was glad. I sent you a text I don’t think you received it. I confessed everything after I hurt your arm. Is it okay?”

“Yeah it’s fine. I got it. I just didn’t read it fully.” Feeling guilty, she retrieved her phone out of her pocket and read it eventually. Her eyes widened at his honestly, before she began to cry. “I’m sorry I didn’t read it, I was tired. I was getting ready for the wedding shower. Why didn’t you tell me?”

“I don’t know? I honestly don’t know. I know I have a funny way of showing it but I do care about you- a lot. I’m sorry for all the hurt I caused you. I've been waiting for you, to come around and tell me the truth, ‘bout everything that you're going through, my girl you've got nothing to lose.”

“You’re an arsehole, you know that? Maybe I’d have told you the truth before, if you was nice to me.” Playfully nudging him, she smiled properly for the first time in a while- Drake noticed this too.

“I can be an ass. I can also be loving. Freya, if you’ll have me I’m yours.” Holding her hands, he hoped he wasn’t too late and she would stay with them all.

“You want me? As in us become a couple?” Looking into his eyes, she needed reassurance- she had never seen Drake look this vulnerable before. Cupping her cheeks, his thumb brushed over them, she inhaled his scent. Her heart began to flutter uncontrollably. Shit Vegas.

“I do.” Standing on her tiptoes, she desperately wanted to kiss the man she had been fantasying over ever since meeting him. Placing her arms around his neck, she pulled him down to her level. Their lips almost touching- Drake decided to take the risk and finally kiss the girl he had hidden his feelings about.

“Can I hold my girl?”

You sat in the Red Bull Racing garage in México City, Michael, Dan's trainer and also lover to both you and Daniel was sitting next to you, you were watching the Qualifying session with your fingers crossed that Daniel would have a good day.

Everyone around you all claimed that Max would get pole, but you and Michael kept your faith in Daniel and prayed that he would get pole, Or at least hope the car wouldn't stop on the track like it has done several times now this season due to reliability issues.

As the final stages of the qualifying came everyone was putting in fast sectors and fast lap time, you were becoming nervous so Michael placed an arm around you.

"It's okay.. even if he doesn't get pole, he still has the car to win." Michael reassures you, you nod your head, Sebastian crosses the line but didn't improve on his time, then it was Lewis that crossed the line and went faster, then Max, but he didn't improve on his time, Daniel crosses the line and his name went to the top of the sheet, the entire red bull garage mechanics jump up.

"Yes!!" You say loudly, Michael stood up from the chairs taking hold of your hand.

"Come, let's go congratulate him when he comes." Michael says, you stood up from the chair and follow Michael over the pit lane to the pit wall where they had opened up a gap, several people already surrounded the open space, David interview the top three and before you knew it Daniel was making his way towards you.

"I did it!" Daniel says excitedly. "I got Pole." Daniel says pulling you into a hug.

"You were wonderful!" You say. "That was amazing."

"It was." Michael says, Daniel pulls back from your hug and pulls Michael into a hug.

"I couldn't have done it without both your support." Daniel says and pulls away from the hug. "I'm so lucky."

"Come on, let's go back to your room." Michael says, Daniel nods his head taking your hand in his, the three of your walk through the red bull garage to Daniel's cool down room in the red bull paddock.

"I'm so proud of you, Dan." You say leaning up to kiss his cheek as the three of you enter the red bull paddock.

"Then allow me to dedicate it to you and Michael." Daniel says. "If it wasn't for the support from the both of you, I don't think I would have gotten pole."

"You would have." Michael says, the three of you walk into Daniel's room and Michael closes the door. "You did absolutely great, Mate."

"Thank you.." Daniel says. "It means a lot, tonight we'll celebrate it."

"You have a race tomorrow, afraid not." Michael says.

"I don't care, I want to celebrate this pole." Daniel says. "We're going to celebrate it."

"Name the place and the time." Michael says knowing it won't help to argue.

"I don't know.." Daniel says. "But as long as you guys are with me, I don't care."

"Aw, aren't you just the sweetest." You say, Daniel smiles wide.

"I'm more than just sweet." Daniel says jokingly.

"Oh, we know." Michael says. "You're naughty also."

"Very naughty." You say. "Maybe he should actually get a reward tonight."

"I think so also." Michael says.

"Maybe I should get pole more often then." Daniel says. "Let me go take a shower then we can go."

"Don't take too long." You say. "It's going to be a long night, we don't want to waste a minute." You say, Daniel quickly grabbed his clothes and made his way to the bathroom.

"I'll be two minutes." Daniel replies, you smile to yourself.

"It's going to be a long night." Michael says and you couldn't agree more.

Erin and Ania are like holy fuck I can’t even. But for real Neil sees Abby as a mother figure in the book so like is it the same for Ania? Andrew too? Idek I just need to know their relationships with everyone

It’s time I map out their relationships anyways lol so thanks, love!

Let’s start with the lovely Ania 

Dan, Allison, and Ania are roommates. It’s tough after Seth’s death bc Ania has to face her all the time. Erin tells Allison her theory too so Allison is avoiding Ania so :////

Dan is essentially what Matt was to Neil. She sees Ania and her first thought is ‘baby’. She adopts her so fast. Every morning before class, she’ll pinch Ania’s cheeks and kiss her fingers, chef-style Idk man. It’s just something my mom does to me ok. Let me be soft. 

Renee rooms with Erin so Ania isn’t comfortable with her. Anyone that can spend the night in a room with that girl has to be hardcore. 

Allison also gives Ania a lot of shit about her wardrobe. At some point it starts to get to her so when the monsters head to the mall, Erin catches Ania drifting towards the girl’s section on her own. She’s high so she follows her around, prodding her about it. When Ania tells her, there’s this moment where Erin’s drug haze parts for a second. Ania could have sworn that she saw anger flashing in Erin’s eyes for half a second. She shrugs it off until Allison shows up at the dorms with a bruise on her jaw. Erin knows Ania hides her body bc scars and bc she doesn’t like men staring at her. She refuses to let Allison shame Ania into doing something she doesn’t want to. In general, Allison and Ania have a rocky relationship because Erin keeps interfering. After Christmas, the two of them end up getting along a lot better bc they bond while Allison covers Ania’s bruises with makeup. Also after Christmas, Ania and Renee trade dorms so she and Allison aren’t in constant contact. Part of their friction was due to the amount of time they spent together. A lot of things have happened to Allison this year and the fact that she constantly has to see the source of a lot of her problems makes it hard for her to heal.  

I’ve considered Fem!Nicky but I personally prefer Gay/Lesbian solidarity between him and Erin a lot better so yeah (However if you want me to run a few Fem!Nicky hcs, hmu and I’ll do it. She won’t be a part of the fem!verse but it would be fun). He’s exactly the way he is in canon. However, he is constantly trying to set Ania and Erin up and Erin? Doesn’t? Stop? Him? She’s so desperately in love with Ania that if Nicky wingmanning for her is what it takes to win her over, then she’ll take it. She also has a really dirty sense of humor. The jokes he makes fuel her late-night fantasies. 

Aaron is disgusted with Nicky and, more importantly, himself. Ania is incredibly beautiful and he’s incredibly straight. He doesn’t like her bc he’s so gone for Katelyn. That doesn’t make Ania any less pretty. He finds himself staring at her all the time but so does every other fox so he doesn’t feel bad. 

Katelyn thinks Ania is hot. She’s bi but leans heavily towards guys. It takes Aaron a long time to unlearn his homophobia but he manages it because Katelyn is bi and he couldn’t possibly hate anything about her. Once Riko is gone and Ania is safe, she starts to develop feelings. I mean, she always had feelings but now she doesn’t try to suppress them. She lets herself want to be friends with people. Katelyn happens to be at the top of her list. While the twins are with Bee at their sessions, Katelyn and Ania hang out. Sessions are only an hour/hour and a half long so the girls just grab a soda together or go window shopping in Reddin. I hc Katelyn as a genuinely sweet VSCO girl. Let me have this! Ania has a grunge/goth aesthetic because Erin buys her clothes for her but she thinks Katelyn’s clothes are cute too. Erin wants to hate the thousands of scrunchies and anklets she finds strewn across the dorm but they make Ania so happy. Once on a double date, on Bee’s insistence, Katelyn catches sight of a bubblegum pink scrunchie in Erin’s hair. It’s a stark contrast to her all-black outfit but it’s really cute. When Aaron goes to grab their drinks from the barista, Katelyn tells her so making sure to stay well out of Erin’s reach. Erin just grunts and turns to look out the window. The twins don’t blush with their whole face. Instead, their ears turn red. With Erin’s hair pulled up and out of the way, Katelyn has no trouble seeing her burning red ears. It’s progress! 

Ania spends a lot more time out at Evermore as a kid than Neil did. As a result, she was really close to Kevin and Riko. She only knew Jean for like a month before she dipped. I got a request for Fem!Jean so you’ll see Ania’s relationship with Jeanie soon. Kevin sees her as a baby sister. He and Kayleigh were actually at the hospital when Ania was born. There’s a baby photo back at Kayleigh’s old house of 3yr old Kevin carrying a newborn Ania. He’s crying rivers in it. There’s an actual video of it as well. In it, Kay asks him why he’s crying. “She’s sho shmall!” little Kevin sobs. “Can I keep her? Pleashe, mom. I’ll be nice to her and take care of her and I’ll tell her I love her all the time.” You can hear someone laughing in the background. The camera pans across the room to reveal Wymack sitting in a chair by the door, cackling

TANGENT BUT I WANT TO TALK ABOUT WYMACK FOR A MINUTE! So Wymack and Kay are friends with some obvious benefits. He flips his shit when Kevin is born because what if that’s his kid??? Kay is just like, I was with a lot of guys and brushes it off. She’s lying through her teeth. Wymack is the only man she’s ever loved. Tetsuji is salty and I will go into this in another post but I think that Tetsuji really hated Kevin because he was Kay’s son but not his. I absolutely believe that Tetsuji was in love with Kayleigh Day and was pissed when she had a kid. Anyway, Wymack flies out to Ireland a lot to check up on Kay and Kevin because Kay is crazy. How could the inventor of exy not be? It’s literally murder lacrosse. He goes out to make sure Kay isn’t overworking herself and bc Kev has no father figure. Kev grows up knowing Wymack and absolutely adores him. When Kay dies, Wymack wants custody of Kevin. Kay knows who the Moriyamas are and recently she and Tetsuji have been fighting a lot. She’s scared that something is going to happen to her so she writes her will and emphasizes that she wants her son sent to Wymack if she dies. Her fight with Tetsuji comes to a head and the car ‘accident’ happens. It’s not an accident. Tetsuji ordered her killed in a fit of rage. He’s devastated when it actually happens. He loved her and now she’s dead. Well, who’s fault is that, ya dumb bish? He flies out for the funeral and so does Wymack. Tetsu finds the will first and is anger. He has it burned and has Nathan forge a new one where he gets custody of Kev. It breaks Wymack’s heart bc now he thinks Kay didn’t want him around Kev. Kevin is five and he’s crying because his mom is dead and now he can’t live with Wymack. He calls Wymack Dad and Wymack can’t do anything about this. Instead, he just hugs little Kev close and tells him it’ll be okay. Wymack tells Kev that Tetsu has a niece his age. Maybe Kev and Riko can be friends. Maybe they’ll even get married. Kevin says that’s disgusting and Wymack laughs a hollow laugh. Anyway, that’s how Kev gets shipped to Evermore. Tetsu doesn’t allow Wymack near Kev bc he knows the truth. The reason why Wymack always has a sports channel on because he used to keep it on in case Kev ever showed up. He watched every one of Kev’s games and interviews and everything. Wymack doesn’t get to be there to watch Kev grown up so he just watched from a distance. I'm not crying you are. 

Wymack is a father figure to Ania and Erin. He’s there when Ania is born bc he went to visit Kay and Kev who were in Baltimore to meet baby Nathania. Kay carts him out to the hospital to meet her too. Nathan Wesninski was not in the room when his daughter was born. He doesn’t even meet her until she’s six months old. Wymack is the first man Nathania meets and she doesn’t even know. Mary didn’t want to hand Nathania over to Wymack but she and Kay are friends and she knows that he’s her baby daddy. Wymack doesn’t recognize Ania because he only knew her for a month when she was a newborn. Of course he doesn’t recognize her. However, he thinks about her a lot. She’s actually the first baby he’s ever held. He didn’t get to hold Kevin until he was two. Wymack treats Ania the same way he treats Neil but he puts in a bit of extra care bc he knows about Millport incident. 

Abby is definitely as much of a mom figure as she was to Neil. However, after she shows her her scars, Ania gets a lot closer to her. She refuses to tell her things but when Erin gets sent to Easthaven, Ania has a hard time staying at the dorms. She spends all her time at the court bc she has to. She hides in the library bc it’s the one place she wouldn’t see Erin anyways. She crashes at Abby’s a few times because there are times she can’t stand the thought of going back to the dorms without feeling the brush of Erin’s hand on the back of her neck. 

Oh. That’s a thing. Every night after midnight practice n Kev has gone to his room, Ania says goodnight to Erin. Erin will trail her hand across the back of Ania’s neck as she passes in response. It makes Ania shiver because her neck is as much of an erogenous zone as Erin’s is. Erin always watches it out of the corner of her eye bc God it’s the most amazing thing she’s ever seen. It makes her feel. Ania doesn’t really realize???? She’s so dumb. She knows it makes her feel good but she just can’t for the life of her figure out why. 

It’s time I addressed the real psycho lesbian… While Erin’s is a facade, Riko is genuinely psychotic. She’s seven types of crazy. Actually, it skews a little more yandere but I will go into depth about it in the Fem!Jean fic. Rn, I’ll try to keep it short. Riko has her first crush when she’s eight? Nine? She kisses her crush on the cheek when she’s ten and Tetsuji… doesn’t take it well to say the least. The bit about it’s easier to remain straight? It’s the thing Kevin hears Riko say to herself every morning in front of the mirror. Regardless, Riko never gets over that first crush. Riko will never not miss Nathania Wesninski. When she finds out who Ania really is? She loses it. It’s fate, she tells herself. She will have Ania or die trying. Christmas at Evermore is a thing so I mean, I guess she does have Ania :( But she wants Ania to love her. She tells Ania as much and Ania spits in her face. :)

Most of Erin’s relationships are the same except for the Matt and Renee thing I covered earlier. The only other one that changes is Kevin. I know I say this a lot, but she really thought Ania and Kev would be a thing. She says no to Kevin for everything bc she’s petty.  Kevin has always gotten everything that he wanted handed to him on a silver plate. Now he’s taking the one thing she really wants.  If he gets Ania, he can’t have anything else. Again, I’ll cover her relationship with Jean later.
