“Goddamnit!” you groan, as you fiddle with your violin. (LMAO PUN!! sorry) 

Your fingers ached, as you tried to nail down the pizzicato run at the top of the page. However, your fingers refused to move with the fluency they used you, and you felt the calluses starting to develop on the surface of your fingertips. 

Self-teaching yourself to play the violin was a pain in the ass, but you were determined to go to a performing arts school once you graduated junior high. 

The only problem? 

Your father was Shota Aizawa, underground pro hero Eraser Head, and was not only a pro, but also a teacher at UA High School- one of the top schools for pro heroes in training. 

You loved your father to the ends of the earth, as he did you, considering your small family only consisted of the two of you, your mother having died during childbirth. Aizawa, only 19 at the time, struggled with the loss of his lover, but you helped him get through it. 

You were his pride and joy, the perfect combination of his love and himself, his precious daughter. 

Nothing you could do could make him hate you. 

And you knew that, but your insecurities were bigger. 

What if he wanted you to become a pro hero like him? 

In all honesty, you didn’t see that future for yourself. It was an honorable job, one that you knew was very important, and a job many children wished to have in the future, and yet, that was never your dream. 

Pro heroes went out every day, fighting with their lives on the line, patrols constantly, dealing with paparazzi, not to mention the

It wasn’t that you weren’t ambitionless, no, certainly not, but it wasn’t something you found passion in. 

But to be fair, if you were successful in your career path, there would sure be a lot of paparazzi either way. 

You were set on following a path into the performing arts, but it was always a little disheartening whenever you heard your Uncle Hizashi or Auntie Nemuri go “Awww Y/N! You’re going to be an amazing pro hero when you’re older, so kind and so determined” 

You knew they meant well, but still. 

Sighing you set down your violin, gently setting it down in your case and safely securing you bow in before tucking it underneath your bed. That’s where most of your instrumental arsenal lived, all compact and tucked away, awaiting your every musical whim. 

You worked tirelessly to earn enough money for each of your instruments for the past two years, combing through online marketplaces and sales to find decently priced quality instruments. 

Grabbing your keyboard and setting it up, your fingers find their way to ivory keys that played a sequence you knew well. 

The notes left your fingers immediately, music filling your bedroom walls as a stream of tunes flow like a waterfall, smooth and connected, and yet, somehow still intense in its own way. 

Music is a form of communication, you always thought. The right notes paired together convey moods, thoughts, feelings. It always amazed you how something as simple as sequential pitches could convey something words never could.

You finish the song with a resounding chord, the room eerily quiet without any music flowing through it, until a slow clap breaks the silence. 

“Well, what do we have here?” 

You jump in surprise, scrambling away from the keyboard to see your father standing in the doorway of your room, the look on his face unreadable. 

You turn bright red and feel your heart sink. 

You never told your father about your dreams and aspirations for the future- what would be say now? 

You steel yourself, taking in a deep breath. 

Calm down, Y/N. He wouldn’t disown you because you don’t want to be a pro. And plus, it’s my life! I should have a say in what I want to do. You think to yourself. 

“Dad, I don’t want to be a pro hero...” you mumble out, refusing to look at him. “I want to be a musician, or a singer! I really like music and it just...really makes me happy.” 

He doesn’t say anything for a few seconds, and you think with a sinking heart that he’s furious, but then a chuckle is heard, almost deafening in the silent room. 

“Oh, thank god.” he exhales in relief, leaving you staring at him, dumbfounded. 

“Y-You’re not mad...?” you ask, extremely confused. 

“Oh no, of course not hime - don't even think that. I'm so sorry you felt like you couldn't tell me anything. ” he says, and you’re put at ease. “Everyday, pro heroes go through pain and hardships to try to save the people of this world.” 

He sighs “Many pros lose their sanity and fall into an abyss of depression and despair because it’s too much for them. “he looks at you, his eyes genuine and sincere. “I don’t want that life for you.” 

You hug him, and his arms wrap around you comfortingly. 

“I love you dad.” 

“I love you too, hime.” 

Then he pulls away with a sly grin on his face. “So, you gonna show me what you’ve been working on?” 

Your face flushes and you shove his arm playfully.

welcome to the usual keep reading lore yapping section. will try to keep this fairly concise but i make no promises it did not stay concise. im sorry in advance

aoharu - park sekai vs theme: high school students in a band, but unlike leoni vs, their afterschool practices are outside of the school

miku - the "cool senpai", except shes not actually older than aoharu... in fact, shes younger than all of aoharu (if only barely younger than ichika)! shes a 1st year high schooler like ichisaki! but she is the mentor figure to them in her experience with music. - shes also not actually that "cool" once you get to know her, although shes pretty chill shes also got some rather silly interests. including collecting stickers to stick on her guitar case. - the main vocalist of the band, but shes got a bit of experience with most of the instruments that the others play. shes no expert but she knows how to play any of them. currently trying to improve her guitar skills! she brings it around with her a lot of the time for the impression it gives to others

len - alongside rin, they main guitar and keyboard. most of the time its len on guitar and rin on keyboard, but theyre both capable of filling both roles and swap occasionally. hes the one usually helping miku improve her guitar skills! unlike miku though, he doesnt carry his guitar around everywhere he goes. - playful but laidback. hell mess with his friends but hes not going around getting into trouble besides that, really - also a 1st year! in fact, the kagamines and miku are childhood friends :) theyve managed to stick together for a long time

yyj - backstage sekai vs theme: idols who have been kind of... abandoned by their management and have to take up those roles themselves

miku - cheerful, bubbly, what you'd typically expect from an idol... except shes also stressed out of her mind because yeah, the sekai isnt exactly... hospitable, to say the least. it doesnt always show and she can cool down from it, but when you live in a world of sprawling hallways and rooms that should have people in them but dont, it definitely has some Effects. - when shes not worrying about that shes quite dedicated to her practice, after all, an idol never stops! - her energy transfers into a bit of everything she does, really. fast talker, fast walker, she can be hard to keep up with if you arent ready for it.

luka - a more mature, gentle idol. she can put on plenty of energy when performing, but she takes things at an easier pace outside of practice. she enjoys her quiet free time. - a lot less tense than miku is about the whole sekai situation, not to say she doesnt feel the effects of it either. shes just better at hiding her feelings about it.

fts - alleyway sekai vs theme: street musicians, but in a darker, rougher direction than vbs

miku - is this a miku or a mikuo? no one really knows and theyre not telling. theyll answer to miku regardless. - very much a troublemaker, gets into fights a lot. can be tough to get along with because theyre pretty abrasive, but they also know their purpose as a sekai miku. getting help from them can just be frustrating sometimes - kaito has been trying to get them to cool down a bit, to mixed success

kaito - livehouse owner (i havent named his livehouse yet...), kind of a stern dad guy. cool, tough, serious, you get the idea. not a bad guy, but he will be hard on fts and the other vs when they need to be straightened out. - despite that, his livehouse is open to performers of all experience levels. just prove youre willing to give it your best shot and hell let you perform. this is a problem for fts, when theyre struggling to get things together as a unit.

hapisen - headquarters sekai vs theme: comic book/cartoon superheroes! they even live in a superhero tower!

miku - shes kinda your straightforward superhero prodigy type, extremely talented as a hero despite her young age. loud, energetic, but very kind and happy to help anyone in need. - by extension shes also got your very typical superhero powers. flight, super strength, etc. she doesnt use them that often around the base though, in fact, most of the vs dont use their powers in the base that often. better off saving them for when theyre out doing hero things!

rin - one half of a superhero pair, obviously. her powers do function on their own and shes capable of doing things without help, but shes a bit weak on her own. but when together with len, their powers amplify to something stronger than either of them separately. i think they probably have electricity powers. - shes a bit reckless in the field, but shes very enthusiastic about being a superhero! super high energy girl, always bouncing around the base getting ready for whenever shes needed next

kyushumi - woodland sekai vs theme: fae royalty, specifically with a butterfly style focus

miku - very quiet and reserved, shes a bit awkward during interactions with most people, but shes well meaning. no ones sure where she came from, even the other vs, and that might have something to do with how she acts - she will stare at you from the bushes and youll just have to get used to it. shes just curious about things, and she wants to observe kyushumi to figure out the best ways she can try to help them.

meiko - technically the fae queen? but she doesnt often act like it, she tries to be more approachable. shes still got a bit of an imposing aura, but shell act more warm and kind to those around her. she is secretive though, and despite her kindness, theres a bit of detachment from everyone. - mikus guardian, since no one really knows how miku got here, so someone has to keep an eye on her. she also considers herself kyushmis guardian, but since theyre not always within reach due to the disconnect between sekais and the real world, theres only so much she can do. she tries her best with what she can

i often long for a cover of a song i like, because the official version is good but the idea is good enough it deserve to be done multiple ways. but the thing is, your average cover, if there are any covers of the song at all, are basically the same but more poorly performed. same arrangement, same notes, except usually stripped down for someone's smaller resources. stripped down CAN work, but it has to be done carefully, and often isn't. i mean, no hate, its just not valuabale to me. and when i have this unsatisfied desire, the instinct is of course, why not make it yourself. which would be cool! but the problem is, in order to be able to do this, i wouldnt just have to know guitar or whatever, i would have to be good enough at music to re-arrange the song. id probably have to be doing music, a lot, for like, 5 years! and even then, i might just not have the knack! very unfortunate! so frustrating! i mean, second best time to plant a tree is today but also i think i genuinely lack some sort of general music instinct other people have. i know learning an instrument takes a lot of work i havent put in (i spent a couple years playing trumpet in middle school) but i think theres another...piece of brain machinery, im missng. im prone to assuming im missing pieces of brain machinery which seems kind of cringe and defeatist but this is sort of inherent to being autistic. like. theres definitely motor coordination machinery im straight up missing, in addition to not having practiced many physical skills. even the thigns ive practiced a lot i do different style

since none of y'all know how the music program at my skl works i can rant so bands for next year came out today right

like 5 minutes ago

and in that time i have screamed eight times, lied down on the floor twice and almost broken my clarinet three and a half times this is because:

1. how the fuck did j move up and i didnt i am like 20 times better than him and this isnt ego its literal facts (but hey at least he's gone)

2. jazz bands havent come out yet ???????? why

3. i just found 2 new keys that dont work on my clarinet and i realised that i broke the barrel even more

4. also we have no fhorns cos they all moved up or are still in the band below which is sad but also wtf why we deserve fhorns

5. mhgfgjhkgybj i thought the tree licker was gone but i forgot she also does percussion so i still have to deal with her unfortunately (she moved up for trumpet btw)

6. why did s move down a band he deserves better

7. my sister didnt move up to the top band but other worse people did and thats not ok she deserves better

on the top are the girlfriends :) i bought my BEAUTIFUL showstopping incredible matte black electric guitar off of a guy on ebay who had already named her mina, so when i got my bass guitar (also off ebay) to be mina's huge girlfriend i named her lucy. my acoustic western is called oscar because i literally dug him out of someone else's trash. (its a sesame street reference.) the electric violin i somehow convinced my parents to gift me as a teen was named quincy by gc, the accordion's name is van helsing. :) (the accordion is from a fleamarket and presently only half of the keys work) (im sorry about the bow dear violinists im sorry im sorry i havent touched it in ages im looking to get it replaced soon im sorry)

well for ones i know how to play- well i used to know how to play anyways- i played the clarinet in band! n at some point i got an ocarina n tried learning that but never worked on it much. i used to be able to play a couple little tunes on it tho (like the jigglypuff song from the pokemon anime. or part of it at least). someday ill get back to it...

for my fave instruments... id probably say the violin and piano. i really love the sound of them, and i like how much emotion they can evoke!

one genre of music idk if ill ever like or enjoy is metal. like all of it really. im like a "everything but country and rap" guy except i like country and rap, just cant stand metal. i have had people repeatedly try to get me into it n its just never works. i love music and listening to new things though so maybe ill find something eventually!

i think my main issue is so much of it seems to lack RHYTHM. its like, just mindless screaming/singing to me. i have found some metal adjacent music i like bc it has actual rhythm (or what i think of as rhythm to it), but its never anything that would be considered like Metal Metal.

my other issue is how repetitive the instrumentals are to me. they are a more 'traditional' genre in how they tend to be set up - vocalist, percussion, guitar n bass. i like a little keyboard! a synth! a sample here n there! digital noise! non-traditional instruments! an orchestra! but they largely lack that variety so it gets repetitive when i try 2 explore someones discography

one of my musician friends said that metal is a genre that tends to play into its 'tropes' a lot and that i wasnt crazy for thinking it all sounded the same so i feel more affirmed in that.... i hate to be the person who says something sounds the same bc usually that just means u havent listened to enough but believe me i have TRIED. im like 15 albums in, 25 diff artists, and dont like any of it

also i find metal fans incredibly annoying im sorry. ive been seeing genre infighting for years and its incredibly annoying to me , like stfu u all like the same shit to any outsider................. i have some ok metalhead friends online but every metal fan ive met irl has been incredibly grating to be around lmfao

Music Conservatory AU "Meeting(s)"

It’s warm. That’s the first thing Rudolf notices. The air itself seems different, soft, and comforting. He relaxes without even thinking, before his eyes even find the man sitting behind the desk.

“Professor Tod?” Rudolf is only just inside the doorway of the man’s office, rapping his knuckles gently on the open door. These are the posted office hours, but it is quite late on a Friday. And Rudolf has never been the best at meeting people. It’s natural that he’s a bit nervous. Or rather, was a bit nervous. He’s not anymore, and he doesn’t know why.

The professor gestures for Rudolf to sit, and Rudolf scrambles to obey. He wants to please this man. Rudolf has always been a people pleaser more than really he should be, but he still wants to please the handsome man before him. “Rudolf Habsburg, was it?” There is an undeniable music in the professor’s voice.

Rudolf nods. “Yes. From the 9 o’clock Music Theory II class, Professor.”

Professor Tod nods at that. 

Rudolf almost forgets what he came to say in the first place. “I-” he swallows. But Tod is so patient, waiting with that gentle expression. And Rudolf finds the last trace of nerves dissolving. “I’ve never been the best at Theory, Professor. I-” Rudolf flushes a bit and looks away for a moment. “I thought it might be best to ask sooner rather than later. For help, that is.” There are echoes of his father’s disappointed words from previous years. Rudolf has never really had a mind for theory.

“What about it troubles you?” Tod’s voice pulls Rudolf from his thoughts.

“I’ve always just felt the music. If that makes sense. I’ve never needed more.” The words sound arrogant to his own ears, but Tod is nodding as if Rudolf has made perfect sense.

“It does.” 

The professor is gently smiling now, and Rudolf is struck by his beauty. He’d heard a few mutterings that the man was pretty - usually quickly followed by some vague curses about how difficult his classes were. And it wasn’t like he was blind - he’d noticed the handsome face in class. But there was something about being so much closer. About being alone, even if the door was ajar.

“You’ll be fine, Rudolf.” And Rudolf believes the professor in a way he never would believe himself. “It’s very different from just playing an instrument. And that takes time to adapt to. I’m glad you’re here.”

Rudolf finds himself nodding at that. He remembers his grandmother’s difficulties finding a music theory tutor she approved of. She’d wanted one that was a mathematician as much as a musician. And those were hard to come by. 

“I’m glad to meet you, Rudolf.” It’s a greeting, but also the beginning of a dismissal. “And remember, even if it’s not my office hours, if the door is open, I’m happy to take your questions.”

Rudolf nods again. “Thank you, Professor. I-” but he’s not sure what else there is to say. “Thank you.”

It was fucking freezing. Of course, the bastard would keep his office at about forty below, that seemed about right for his fucking frozen heart. But it’s Tod’s eyes that catch Wolfgang’s attention first. Pale blue. Icy, and altogether fitting.

“Professor.” He spat the title.

“Wolfgang.”

Wolfgang holds the crumpled papers up. “A C-? I-” But he finds his mouth shutting at less than a wave from the bastard’s hand. It’s as if a cold wave of air swept through the room, taking with it any breath Wolfgang had in his body.

“Generally, Wolfgang, I do recommend following directions.” Each word is an insult, though Tod never so much as raises his voice.

Wolfgang looks as he glares at the man. The bastard does look like Colloredo - enough that they could be brothers, though they dress so differently. Tod is always in black. Or rather, every time Wolfgang has seen him he has been invariably in black. Not that Wolfgang would ever win any attendance awards - his inspiration can be so mercurial and it is important to pursue it to the finish when it strikes. Class is less important.

Colloredo, on the other hand, favors business suits with slightly over-the-top flourishes. And conspicuously expensive ones at that.

“I did.” Wolfgang half snarls. He’d composed his piece. There had been a few more bars than asked for, but they were needed for the flow. And he’d bent the chord progression a bit. Or perhaps more than a bit. The bastard’s choice had been boring, and Wolfgang had been struck by a moment of inspiration.

The cock of Tod’s eyebrow is slight, but the incredulity is obvious even from the small gesture. And it doesn’t end there. The bastard methodically turned to the side, plucking a particular paper and beginning to read.

Wolfgang finds his eyes rolling as Tod coldly recites the instructions. They were guidelines, nothing more. The man before him was obviously more a mathematician than a musician and couldn’t recognize the genius of Rudolf’s music.

He has no response. Retorts stream through his mind, each more childish and disrespectful than the last, but on a single glance from Tod’s eyes he doesn’t have a way to say them. It is too cold to even open his mouth.

Wolfgang turns on his heel and exits without another word, his tongue seemingly released to mutter insults as soon as he is beyond the threshold of the bastard’s office. Any idiocy on the part of a mere mathematician, uncreative and blind, would do nothing to dampen Wolfgang’s work. And, a vicious and victorious thought comes to his mind, there was always Colloredo. The Dean was wonderfully malleable, and he certainly recognized Wolfgang’s genius. 

He almost runs into another student in the hall, heading toward the bastard’s office. Dark-haired and fair-skinned. Another victim. Wolfgang imagined that Tod had more than a few with how many had to take advanced music theory. The poor bastard. Wolfgang felt for him.

What did I do instead you may ask???

Open the Sheet music app and began retooling my song front two years ago that was originally the main theme for the first act. Or at least the first half of the first act. I took advice from friends and family that it just needed a little something more at the start and end. There was a good oomph as start made me think battle scene... but it needed something. I finally thought of the sound I wanted.

Found the Drum Rills I wanted (Though it took hours to find the exact one I litterlaly typed the exact words in the name and toik hours to find some reason and countless searches).

Found a bell sound I was totally like Yeha that could eb a fun opening..

Theb thought, eh I made the document. Might as well plop the opening down.

I have problem currently staying up all night zi guess.😓🤣😂😅😅😅

Yep, spent all night working on the song. I ahve to admit the guitar part so uh nds coll. The opening including open ik gn chorus. Sounds awesome. Maybe a few tweeks here and there. I restyled and also redid the notations and the octaves of tlntoss as well as their notation time signatures to fit with the new speed and design I'm going foe with the comic. And funny enough didnt even get the main theme in there this was all the themes that combine with it

Later parts are a but messy. But blhoenstly first minute sounds pretty cool, totally plants an image. So I hope it works out. Just have to retools thjnklgs Inliked about the old open in ng a but more before ri works. But after alls said and done what leads into the opening a piano followed by a guitar pick iij ng up thebebat a bit. Can say it sounds far better then the old music.

All the same cnat believe how much time I spent on it. But I got started on the new angle I'm going for. And it kinda gives a real atmosphere to it. Hopefully you guys will like it I've studied both college level and under music practically my whole life but I'll say 25 years practically since I was 5. So writtinflg music is soemthing I often do. I just havent really performed my lyrical stuff. I even have a lyrical song or a few I came up with for the comic. Although, I'm not sure they will fit with the comics main theme.

I will say thebprologues theme has been ready and done for 2 years now. And yeah I'm not changing that puppy. Its... well saying anything will give away a plot point. I'll just say it will get you're heart pumping... in a scary kinda way. Showed it to friends and family and they are like "Okay that was freaking creepy. That, you wrote that miss ray of sunshines?" I just knew what I wanted for teh prologue had a certain tone I wanted setting in. And it worked.

Well heres today's update for you. I'll probably post some pic later today. But till then take care. I'll see if I could post a snippet of the song later tod sass y or in the next few days. Probably will have to use one of my actual music programs to do that without saving and unfinished product.

(Ps. I knwo how to play the harp and paino. However, I dont own a harp anymore where I used to rent closed its doors long ago. And my piano is a keyboard I've had since 7 whose cord keeps absconding from me, so if your wondering I can play instruments I jsut have difficulty keeping track of them thus I use programs instead) I recently fo uh nd recordings I made at my families property two years ago on the old family piano, just me silently at night alone plucking out cords and slowly creating a song, and occassionally messing up... it was when I was first figuring out Lenna's theme. At the time trying to keep it more towards H.S. in theme and sound. This has since changed and I'm leaning more towards the other inspiration that shaped most of the characters since the start. So the sound has since changed. It used to have a country western sound to it.
