If Reddit goes quiet, how're we going to find answers from real people anymore?? Most search engines are unusable due to SEO grifts. Quora is an annoying hellscape with a distracting layout. Yahoo Answers, Yahoo Answers . . . *starts weeping openly on her grave*
Humanity has been removed from our virtual human playground.

Current hyper specific plotline in my head:
Specific brand of equipment that everyone in a specific field bought because it was “top of the line” turns out to be faulty and all end up causing fires of varying sizes
Because of the fires, all these people who work with this specific plant have lost theirs, and now everyone thinks the plant is extinct
After a little bit of time has passed, one character (a Vulcan) remembers their Human friend, who also owns a plant of that species, declining to get that equipment from that brand because of a “gut feeling”
They know this friend loses track of time easily and can go months without speaking to another person because they don’t realize how long it’s been, so it’s likely their Human friend has no idea that all these fires even happened and it’s very likely that their plant is still in perfect health
So they go over for a visit and find out that not only is their plant still perfectly healthy, but they also have other healthy plants of the same species that they have no problem sharing with their friend
The Vulcan is so overwhelmed that this specific (Vulcan) plant isn’t actually extinct and that their friend gave them some without a second thought that they actually hug them…which causes a loud cracking noise and their friend being like “Vulcan affection is dangerous”
But hey, they’re gonna accept their friend’s affection as long as they’re willing to give it, so they just hug them back tightly and ignore the fact that it feels like they can’t breathe
(Also that Vulcan is never gonna badmouth “gut feelings” again)

literally freaking out over an akishinji fanfiction where they bring in 13 year old kanji from persona 4 and akihiko and shinjiro become the older queer male role models that i think kanji desperately fucking needs
there’s no chance in hell atlus would ever write a story like this but god. GOD. i wish so badly that kanji could’ve gotten this in game. the party members in p4 make kanji feel like garbage for how they perceive his sexuality, and seeing an alternate universe where he finally gets people to show him that yes, it’s perfectly normal to be queer, is so goddamn cathartic.

i think simon does end up physically back to where he started, mostly because i really want to explore the idea of simon emotionally hurting himself by trying to draw a line between himself and ice king. because the thing is that even if hes physically back to normal, he still is mentally afflicted by the remains of magic insanity and all the memories of those 900 years. hes extremely forgetful. he loses his temper more easily than before, or will start crying for reasons beyond his understanding. his physical coordination isnt as good as it was before. he feels godawful when magic queen puts the daily checklist back on the wall, because hes normal now, why cant he just remember to eat every morning? why is he getting lost 2 blocks away from his own home? why is he losing his temper over incredibly mild things?
its about the internalized hatred for himself. cutting a piece of his own identity away because hes not as well as he once was. he was ice king for longer than he was simon, but he doesnt want to acknowledge that it is part of his history and identity. itd be easier if ice king was a stranger who took control of his body for a while.
and he really needs to come to terms with the fact that he IS ice king, ice king IS him, just a different phase of his life, because pushing that fact away is only hindering his recovery.
