Thoughts on Descendants 4 the rise of red…..
Can’t even lie, they had me in the beginning, they popped off with that first song and the nod to Cameron Boyce and lmao it sorta lowkey went downhill from there but also didn’t?
You can clearly see that Kenny Ortega did not have anything to do with this movie lmao like sorry but I wasn’t feeling it, I think there was 2 songs that the group dancing actually went off, but other than that? Nope not for me lol it seemed like a jumble of nothing happening, and that is probably just me comparing it to the first three movies too much but yeah
Also, the plot was like super fast, we didn’t get to see the big prank that created the queen of hearts villain, we didn’t get to see enough of the villain kids at Merlin Academy, we didn’t get to see or hear about anything in between, like what did the Queen of Hearts to do make wonderland the only kingdom to not be welcome in Auradon? And like I get the ominous ending but like idk it felt like it was missing something. But my god I WISH we saw more of the VKs like I’m telling you, I’d watch a whole show of young Hades, Maleficent, Uliana, Hook and Morgie(is that his name? Lol) anyways yeah it was rushed imo, it was shorter than the first three movies too I think, and maybe by only 15 minutes, but that extra few minutes in the first three movies really helped
So I’m about to point out some plot holes so don’t mind me lol
-Chad being Chloe’s older brother but also that he got into university lmao. Are we assuming he’s adopted? Because Chad is white boy blond hair Chad, and as much as I love that Brandy and Paolo were Cinderella and Charming again, it wasnt exactly adding up. That and why did he randomly get a sister? Was she ever mentioned before this movie? And how did this boy get into university? They mentioned tourney so maybe an athletic scholarship lmao
-Hades and Maleficent are clearly together at Merlin Academy, yet it’s a secret that he’s Mals dad, wouldn’t they all like know lol? Uliana is Ursula’s little sister, and Hades and Maleficent are part of her crew, so she clearly knows, and Fairy godmother/Fae, went to school with them, but even she didn’t clock it???
-Aladdin and Jasmine are there, but Jafar isn’t, which fair, but they are specifically mentioned and shown, but I can’t even lie, what purpose did they serve? The plot would not have changed with or without them? Also, they looked much older than all the other characters so idk, it just felt off to me.

chaos theory trailer moodboard (+insane rambling below the cut)
THE INTRO TOOK ME OUT. i’ve literally envisioned what the newscasts/interviews about the nublar six would be like after their return and AUUUGHHHH. “we survived because we had each other” YEA YEA YEA THAT’S IT THAT’S MY FUCKING THESIS FOR THE ENTIRE SERIES SUMMED UP IN A SENTENCE I’M. INSANE. ohhhh i teared up seeing all the kids again, and ben giving the peace sign that’s my boy that’s my fucking son boy 😭😭😭
darius living in an isolated cabin with extensive DIY perimeter warning system and reacting to unexpected visitors with the business end of an electronic prod MY BELOVED. he is traumatized and i’m so so here for it. part of my issue with the epilogue at the end of jwcc was how… well-adjusted they all seemed but of course that was just a BRIEF snapshot to their current lives. i don’t think anyone could go thru what they did and just move on with their lives completely unaffected.
BEN…. either he responded to his trauma by completely immersing himself in gym culture, like many teenage boys, or his work on manta corp island with mae has involved lots of manual labor bc GODDAMN HE GOT BIG. i can’t say i’m a huge fan of his design, i actually prefer the jwcc epilogue ben, but at least they fixed his eyes. and ben and darius have always been one of my fave duos so i will take them in any capacity. even with chad!ben 😔
but the premise has me SO excited. as thrilling and compelling as classic dinosaur danger is, the real villain of the jurassic park franchise has always been humans. human greed, human cruelty. the commodification of science, disrespect of natural law and order, disregard for safety and due diligence. so seeing they’re being targeting by a mysterious someone (daniel???) in a thriller-type story, while dinosaurs ALSO HAPPEN TO BE RUNNING AROUND, has me PUMPED. it’s very in-line with jwcc’s theming so it should feel like a natural continuation.
animation looks about on-par with the first show, and it’ll be neat to see new backgrounds/settings. no hints of any new characters yet, and while it seems like darius and ben’s goal is to warn the other campers, not sure how much we’ll actually get to see of them. sadly i cannot fathom jenna ortega returning to voice brooklyn, she’s been rocketed to an entirely different level thanks to wednesday. i wouldn’t be opposed to a recast if they could make it believable. and GOD i’d love more yasammy to make an appearance 🙏

What I would have done
If you have been keeping up with my posts for the last week, you may have noticed that I fucking despise the new Descendants movie
There’s a lot of reasons behind this. One, nostalgia, I love the original ones (Harry Hook is one of my all time favorite characters lol I think he’s fun). Two, I expected more of the franchise, because it’s fucking Disney, and while I know Kenny Ortega wasn’t the director this time, there would at least be people who worked on the original movies involved in the process, so I thought they at least knew what they were doing. Three, nothing in the movie makes any fucking sense, and I’m not usually a person who gets hung up on nitpicks, like if you entertain me then do whatever you want, but my god it’s impossible to ignore.
But most of all, the story they were trying to tell just isn’t interesting.
Like, if I would tell someone what the best part of Descendants is, it’s not the songs, or the cast, or the costumes, or even really the characters. Don’t get me wrong I love all of those parts, and I doubt the movies would be even close to as good as they are if you removed one of these things. But the best and most interesting part to me, and to a lot of people in the fandom as well, is the concept of The Isle Of The Lost.
The concept of taking all of these classic Disney Villains with wildly different aesthetics, motives, ideologies, and overall moralities and placing them all on an island and make them build up a society, that shit’s fascinating, but the core movies do next to nothing with it cause they spend all their time on Auradon. The second one focuses the most on it, and guess what, that one’s the best one!
(I know the books exist, I read them, but they just weren’t that good, like it felt like I was reading bad fan fiction)
So what would I do for Descendants four?
Well, I’d set in on the fucking Isle.
Actually, I think this would genuinely work better as a series. Not that long of a series tho, maybe like eight episodes, each episode like 40 minutes long.
Each episode would focus on a different VK, set a few years before the first movie, and have a short composed story about their general life.
I don’t know which VKs exactly, but I think Harriet Hook could be interesting, her episode being like four or five years before the first movie so we can see preteen C3, I think that would be cute, also a young CJ.
Possibly the Gaston twins, though Lefou Deux could work too. Whichever it would be, the other would feature.
Jade, Jay’s cousin, could be a lot of fun, maybe have like a rivalry between the two.
Freddie and Celia, I think it’s insane that they never mention Freddie in D3, but like I wanna know what their relationship is like.
And of course, Red! Queen of Hearts is a villain, she should be on the Isle. And if any of you dare tell me that she’s from wonderland and they couldn’t like, capture her or whatever, they got fucking Hades on the Isle, they resurrected some guys to place them there, Queen of Hearts is not a problem.
(Also like, Morgie could be there, but this time as a real VK)
But yeah, lot of options lol.
Every episode would show just the grim reality of what these kids would have to live through their whole lives, the complicated relationships they would have with their parents, and really emphasize that fact. D1 was the only one that really focused on how the Isle kids were kids who were all victims of insane abuse their whole lives. I mean, in D3 they all like happily run to meet them once the barrier is down, which is crazy.
Also, the show would be rated PG-13. Like, I’m not asking for graphic scenes of abuse, but I do want it to be kinda gritty and grim, with some more psychological and mental abuse taking place. Also, we’re told multiple times about gang wars, but we aren’t really shown any. Maybe one episode could focus on that, like idk Clay Clayton (insane name btw) and his gang.
But most importantly, we’d have all the Disney villains in cool new leather outfits, which is what I think everyone wants tbh. I have gotten that one part of ‘Life Is Sweeter’ where the villain comes up more than any part of the movie, like people like the villains more than anything. And yeah I know they wouldn’t be young and hot anymore, but like we can have some extreme Milf and Dilf looks, it will even out.
Descendants is one of, if not the most popular franchise Disney Channel has made, it deserves a better continuation than Rise of Red.
Also, if the show is popular then we could have a season two/sister series, about the kids of Auradon, that could be interesting too, and also have some dark shit in it, idk. The way that Queen Leah spoke to Audrey in D3 had some dark undertones, so I think her episode could be interesting. Could also feature the political implications of The Isle, potential protests and propaganda, idk.
Also, Chloe can get an episode, so boom we got them both!
So what I’m trying to say here is this:
Disney hire me

Okey, I finished Rise of Red.
—First, what a strange movie, truly. It wasn't like, terrible, but...
—Did it feel cut out to anyone else? Like incomplete? Or like they cut a lot of scenes? Some dialogues are strange and the movie expects us to feel things when everything happens so fast there is really no time for it. (And this is without even mentioning the ending)
—You can tell the director was trying to give this movie an entirely different look, and I dig it, honestly. I think this movie was very experimental and in the visuals at least, I have no complaints. The scenarios were more like what I wanted to see in a fantasy land like that, coloful, fun, a bit more creative.
—I miss Kenny Ortega's talent in musicals.
—Okey, the songs, I don't think they were bad, but because the movie is already so short sometimes it feels like a never ending music video instead of a movie.
—I def liked the songs from the second half of the movie better, they felt more in line with the kind of music secuences everyone loves about Descendants.
—Oh, the fist one in Wonderland I liked too, it had energy.
—I would kill for a scene of Chad with the rest of his family.
—I love how in Descendants, you can just intantly tell if someone is an extra or a character with name.
—Mad Hatter??? I liked to see him, he seemed like a potencially interesting character.
—The entire plot needs you to turn your brain off so it makes sense, and after over-analyzing this movies for years I can't do that 😅
—Obviously the the timeline we all though with the Disney Movies is destroyed.
—I loved seeing Merlin, he was kind of fun.
—Honestly they could have just made a movie about Merlin Academy with no conection to Descendants and it could have been more interesting. The movie didn't even seemed interested enough in the two main characters anyway.
—The message is strange too, the way they handdle moral dilemas is so strange. I don't have the energy right now to get into detail, but yeah, there is some strange things there.
—Like, we save Bridget not for Bridget but for Red, and still the possibility of finding redemption for Ulyanna's group is never brough up, even when they have kids who will get abused and neglected in the future too. Why? Because Bridget was "good" from the beggining? Because she didn't beloged with villains, but Ulyanna and the other's did?
—Also, why are they called VKs? I thought the term meant it was because they were the kids from the villains, not because they were kid villains.
—The ending was so?? This movie felt like it had no stakes despite Cinderella getting killed halfway through. (That scene with Charming was really dark, btw)
—The entire movie felt like it was building onto something, like some plotwist, some climax, and there was no payoff. We didn't even see the Dance they kept mentioning like it was going to be an important scene.
—I am not letting go the implication that even if the Queen of Heart's wasn't evil, Wonderland still refused to be a part of Auradon and Red still wasn't invited to Auradon Prep.

ej!!! im about to buy fernweh book 1 after looking through it on your account, do you have any other IF recommendations? i read wayhaven chronicles due to your posts and it was 🫶🫶
Tumblr media
hehehehe EXCELLENT >:D I LOVE FERNWEH!!! I absolutely have other recommendations!! >:3 I'll stick with completed games, as demos break my heart, but here are a few favourites!!
Fallen Hero Rebirth & Retribution: @fallenhero-rebirth - on steam, but also found on the app store. Start with Rebirth, then import your saves into Retribution to continue the story. One of the best written games out there, play as an ex-vigilante hero turned villain. Ortega is one of my favourite characters of any game okay
Blood Moon: @barbwritesstuff - okay so technically so the full game isn't out until June, but this remains one of my favourites. Werewolves, and just beautifully nuanced and fleshed out characters. play the demo, and get excited with me for the full release!
The Passenger: @the-passenger-if - horror, you're literally an eldritch horror being hunted by another horror. mind the content warnings, but this is a ROMP. again, wonderfully fleshed out characters, fall in love with Roach with us >:3
Blooming Panic: on twitch here! - a visual novel, but absolutely fantastic. it's free, and I recommend playing all the routes to unlock the true route - it's a love letter to fan communities and I love it.
Bad Ritual by @heart-forge- I've been following this for a long time, and it's also a romp, and wonderful. Unleash a demon and learn about the inherent prejudices of society. Siruud, beloved. <33
The Fog Knows Your Name - on the app store, I just finished this, and it was fun. Solve the mystery of an ex-friends death, and save the town!
Okay, so this should be a good start? ANYONE ELSE GOT RECS? >:3

Never-ending list of things I want from Wednesday S2
Sun-blocking contact lenses invented! Now Yoko can walk around without her sunglasses! This is exclusively because I want to be able to see Naomi J. Ogawa's beautiful face all the time on screen and she deserves to be seen goddammit! Also Yokovina canon.
Divina gets a surname and a backstory. Confirmed non-binary and in-lesbians with Yoko. Good relationship with her brother, who is an idiot but in a good way.
Yokovina are a very stable couple. They know each other's parents, etc. Healthy relationship. Good representation, please, thanks. Needed.
Kent supreme himbo confirmed. No thoughts head empty.
Ajax does something useful this time challenge. Also good friends with Enid because they are both sweethearts.
Time-traveling shenanigans allow young-Weems to become part of the gang. Young!Larissa is a 6′5'' shapeshifter played by a non-binary actor. You don't throw a character away like that. Bring them back!!!
No need for new characters. I want to know more about the ones we already have and love, I want to know them deeply, connect with them, empathize, know their stories.
Cousin Itt new teacher at Nevermore. Not entirely clear of what though.
Also: we get to know the staff. Who are the other teachers??
Enid fluffy CGI quadruped wolf – NOT ugly cheap biped CGI thing.
"Xavier Thorpe found dead in Miami". No further inquiries.
Or maybe Vincent Thorpe had a vision about it but did nothing to stop his son's dead? Wednesday surely would be intrigued by that.
Monsters and ghosts and whatever all around, cool, but never forget who the real villain of this story is: Esther Sinclair.
Wednesday finally realizes she likes to be bossed around by Enid. She doesn't know what to do with this information.
Bianca realizes she cares a lot for Wednesday and can't stop thinking about her. She doesn't know what to do with this information either.
Enid realizes lots of things.
Jenna Ortega enters the writing room yelling: 'Wenclair or you find a way to shoot Wednesday without Wednesday, motherfunkers'. Tim Burton nods sagely and says: 'It was wenclair all along, my child'. He's wearing a yokovina t-shirt. An intern cries.
Lukas gets a redemption arc (because he deserves it) and Bianca helps along.
Tyler does not get a redemption arc (because he doesn't deserve it) and Enid bests him in combat. No CGI combat juts fencing or something. I want to see Emma Myers fighting not a CGI wolf!
Bianca is trans but they forgot to make it explicit last time. No Terfs allowed at Nevermore. This is not Hogwarts.
Goody haunting Wednesday but it's basically trolling for a whole episode.
Like any of this? Hate it? Reblog and add stuff and discuss! Let Wednesday writing team watch it! They monitor social media closely so keep the conversation going! We have to queer-up the show!

Lady Argent: What is hotter than a woman with a sword(hand)? Nothing. She knows what she wants and she's going to get it. Literally bites your lip so hard you are injured you when you kiss. She demands you stop killing if you're a murderstep and kiss her but like!! THAT DIDNT EVEN STOP HER FROM KISSING YOUR HELMET?? ALSO JUST. KISSING A VILLAIN??? This woman has no fear.
Her mindscape has sharks. you like sharks, i like sharks. vote argent.

12 favourite things about Beetlejuice Beetlejuice
So I saw the Beetlejuice sequel over the weekend. I saw the original in the theatre nearly 40 years ago. And I admit was a bit nervous about whether the film would live up to the original, or would it be derailed by so many of the things that have caused remakes or continuations of legacy properties to fail in recent years. (Those factors vary from person to person but often boil down to either failing to recapture lightning in a bottle, or going against the spirit of the original in some way.)
I'll put in a spoiler break before I pass along my favourite things about the film, but the tl;dr is I had a blast, and I should never have doubted Tim Burton.
The following includes not only plot spoilers for B2, I also have to mention a major spoiler for the Wednesday series, so you are warned.
Favourite things about B2:
Jenna Ortega
Michael Keaton has managed the near impossible - reprising a role from decades ago without losing anything. It makes me sad that we'll never see his proper return as Batman in the now-lost Batgirl movie. I won't name specific names, but with only a couple of exceptions (most of them in Deadpool and Wolverine), so many times an actor reprising a role from years past has either failed to recapture the magic or does a good job but is still missing something that makes their reprise feel lesser in some way. You could splice together scenes of Keaton from B2 with scenes from B1 and you would be hard-pressed to tell the difference.
Jenna Ortega
Winona Ryder is terrific as the older Lydia. I loved the fact they made her a "paranormal-reality" TV star; I figured Lydia would have grown up to be either that or a goth-rock singer. I am not in favour of always darkening characters when they return after a while, but I think the idea of Lydia being haunted (literally) by her past and seeing dead people was well handled and does put a bit of a dark spin on the happy ending of B1. But in a way that works.
Jenna Ortega
For reasons best left to a google search, Jeffrey Jones was unable to appear in B2. His absence was well-handled by way of photographs, having his character lose his head, and a very clever and unexpected stop-motion sequence that at times looked like it was one of those wild AI-generated shorts.
Jenna Ortega
The change of style - the stop-motion, and the Italian art film pastiche that served as Beetlejuice's origin story - were a couple places where the film distinguished itself from the original. Same with Beetlejuice pulling a Deadpool a couple of times and talking to the audience.
Jenna Ortega. OK, seriously, she's a lot of fun in this and is a highlight of the film. My only complaint is they're not completely successful in separating her from Wednesday, both when she gets involved in a Beetlejuice-driven dance sequence, and a subplot where her character falls in love with a boy who turns out to be a villain - which is identical to what happens in Wednesday; the actors even look similar (there is the big Wednesday spoiler I warned about). That's one of the only major criticisms I have with B2, made a bit more glaring as Burton produced Wednesday and I think the film and show used the same writers. Jenna is in danger of being typecast which I'm sure she wants to avoid. I hope her star just continues to rise.
Bob. 'Nuff said.
Burn Gorman of Torchwood fame makes an unexpected appearance in the film as a preacher. He's quite funny to watch in his few scenes. He's become quite a good character actor over the years.
The Disney joke. Aside from the fact I know it'll play well with the many who have been turned off the House of Mouse for various reasons (including their treatment of various franchises and the never-ending Snow White saga), it has a different meaning when you realize that reportedly Burton had a bad experience making the live-action Dumbo for them, so this wasn't just a topical dig at Disney (like we saw in Deadpool) - this one was personal. When film scholars of the future write their books examining Burton's films and he and everyone else involved in his movies have collected their copies of the Handbook, the joke will probably get covered in quite a bit of detail, even though it comes and goes so quickly on screen.
One criticism I have is that Monica Bellucci's character doesn't really do too much. Reportedly Burton and Bellucci began dating while making the film so at least those two got something out of it. But her end was a bit overwhelming. I also felt Willem Defoe's character was underused. But if someone decided to do a spinoff of his actor-turned-underworld cop character, I think it could do well. I know both Bellucci and Defoe were playing plot maguffins - their purpose was to push things along to get to the Beetlejuice/Lydia reunion. But there could have been more. (I also didn't care for the fact no one thanked Beetlejuice for saving the lives (and souls) of Jenna's character by dealing with the boyfriend and everyone else by helping dispose of Monica. That's the only part of the film I disliked, but a minor point.)
Is B2 better than B1. I would say no, but it is an excellent film. I don't know if a third movie is justified, but the prospect of releasing a film called Beetlejuice Beetlejuice Beetlejuice may be too much temptation to ignore.

Stuck to my guns and doodled my second-favorite (and absolutely never gets mentioned) Step, Dante. He’s really only existed in my head as a punky Cheshire Cat grin before, so it’s nice to give him a real face. :3
Silly Quick Notes Because Why Not?
• Nonbinary (he/him, or whatever.). Puppetmaster scar. Wants the good life. Hero Hunter (prepare).
Why Dante picked Hero Hunter over like, idk, mob boss, I have no idea. Dante is a mystery sometimes. He's gonna prep those lazy heroes though, and he can finally live his best life. Let's go!
• Pre-Heartbreak, he was a lot more grumpy and pissy. Just lots of >:( and >:l faces. Rarely ever smiled. His new chill and happy-go-lucky personality is Extremely Off-Putting to his old acquaintances, I imagine. :) He also never really stops smiling now, often with teeth. If you piss him off (Ortega's special talent), his smile just gets more sharp.
• He's also easily my most Ruthless Step. Definitely the most manipulative and at ease with being a villain. It's a good time~.
• I'm pretty sure I created him to romance Herald, but Dante made chaos goblin heart eyes at Chen instead. Best decision ever, I'm sure I have a 5-page phone note screaming about it from my first game. <3
Also, something something about the first time Dante does even slightly drop his walls (dog park), Chen is the one that sees it. Idk what, but he’s probably the only person who gets close to seeing whatever Dante considers honest is.
• Is a dramatic soul, but less theatre vibes and more just being a card vibes. Like I’m fairly certain he just stole the fragmented bits of Ortega’s mask he remembered and envied to be his own, post-Heartbreak.
Tumblr media
Dante in a nutshell~~~ ✨💃✨
• If Dante ever meet Vendetta, he would instantly adopt nem and desperately try to get nem to be a little manipulative menace to society. :D Vendetta would instantly bite him. :)
Thank you for indulging me if you read this far too, and have a lovely day~~ <3333

pairing: m!ortega x f!sidestep (arabella aveiro)
word count: 775
warnings: angst and a confession <3 but at what cost?
tags: @masonscig @farahhauville
notes: yeah idk what i'm doing either! i've fallen (haha) into the worst fallen hero hole imaginable it's all i can think about as of late and this fic is the proof of that. basically arabella tells ortega how she feels. and they discuss the past. just a tad. as a treat! anyway i hope you enjoy 🙏 the title is inspired by unknown/nth by hozier because i listened to it a lot while writing this and it feels fitting. you'll find out why if you read!
[read on ao3]
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
love is as foreign of a concept to you as anything else. feeling safe. grounded. at peace. you know you'll never feel any of those things. and if you have, it's never for long.
why would love be any different?
could it be different? allowing yourself to feel something other than anger, or fear?
no. what a stupid thought. it should be entirely out of the equation.
but the way ortega is looking at you right now is making you question it. for the second time in your life, but with the same person, seven years later.
the person you were then - sidestep, the vigilante, the sidekick - could have seen herself following through with it. but fear and anger always came rushing back to bring you to your senses.
now, there's a whole lot more to deal with.
the person you are now - retribution, the anarchist, the villain - can't get caught up in this. you're lying to him. constantly. more than you ever did in the past. almost everything you say to him is a lie.
except for those rare occasions when you let your true feelings slip. that you love him back, despite everything in you telling you not to. what you just told him, and why he's looking at you the way he is right now. as if you're the only thing on this earth that matters to him, his brown eyes lighting up with the adoration you've tried getting adjusted to ever since he found you back at that diner. his eyes are crinkling in the corners, more than they ever did seven years ago. the smile on his face still gives you butterflies, like it did when you first saw it.
there's a beat of silence, the only sound occupying his apartment being the ceiling fan swinging above you both, a futile attempt to cool down the temperature in the infamous los diablos heat.
futile also because your own body feels like it's overheating, sweat accumulating on your forehead, your hands warm and clammy.
“you love me.”
you roll your eyes. “don't make me repeat it.” even though you want to. until the words don't make sense anymore. until you grow tired of saying it, but part of you knows you never would.
a knowing smile graces his face. you want to hurl. “i won't.”
he holds your hands in his, one of his thumbs rubbing over the jagged edges of a scar you don't remember how you got. there's so many, you gave up trying to.
“i wish i had told you,” he starts, uncharacteristically nervous. “i wish i had told you all those years ago.”
would it have changed anything? a part of you wants to believe it would have. a stupid, stupid part of you wants to believe that.
“it would have made things worse,” you decide, refusing to meet his eyes. “it would have made…”
even now, you can't bring it up.
the heartbreak incident. jumping from the roof. vaguely hearing screams that you know came from him. your skull cracking against the pavement. being put in an ambulance. being taken to-
he tilts your chin up, taking in your wide eyed expression and your heavy breathing.
“it's okay,” he assures you, and you desperately want to believe that. another stupid part of you.
“it wouldn't have made it worse,” he says, “i was in love with you then, too. i should have told you, bella. i’m sorry i didn't.”
his eyes shine with unshed tears, and it takes everything in you to not respond with tears of your own.
it makes no sense. you've fought him, broken his nose, put him in the hospital. cleaned his blood from your suit, your gloves.
and yet, this makes you feel something. remorse. regret. that foreign feeling of love that you're still trying to understand.
you don't deserve him. you didn't then, and you certainly don't now.
“it's okay, ricky,” you finally respond. “we didn't know.”
he chuckles. “no,” he pushes a strand of hair away from your face, and you hate how calming it makes you feel, “but now we do, and we have all the time in the world to make up for it.”
time.
how much do you really have left? being here, in this moment, on his couch, inching closer and closer to each other. you almost didn't realize you were doing it.
as his lips meet yours, warm and familiar, you want this moment to last forever.
you know it can't. it won't.
but for now, you'll enjoy it. even when it all inevitably comes crashing down around you.
that's what you're used to.

♦ and ♡ for Antoine?
Thank you glitchy!
♦ - quirks/hobbies headcanon
I think I've compiled enough hobbies for this guy over the years that he might have to retire from the villain business to have time for them. Since answers are spread out, I'll just put them all here:
He collects things which include vinyl records and rubber ducks
He likes to doodle, usually on newspapers or scrap paper, but sometimes on walls who doesn't love a little property damage, might even get spray cans if he's feeling fancy
He sews patches on his clothes and does other repairs himself, he gets very attached to his clothes and doesn't get new ones often
♡ - romantic headcanon
Antoine is pretty much aromantic, mainly in the way that he doesn't see the difference between romantic and platonic actions. He understands that other people place some sort of importance in certain gestures and while he also would only consider doing certain things with people he feels close with, he would not consider those things to make them exclusive, or to alter their relationship any more than other bonding-activities might. This outlook doesn't make things easier with Ortega who I see as having been very ambiguous about their relationship in the past. He's doing slightly better with Danny though, because it's a fresh start and he's learned what people expect from him (but even so he sort of falls into that relationship while juggling both Ortega and Argent as well so maybe not). Let's just say even now he vibes more with the re-gene definitions of relationships.

Descendants we meet again
So yesterday I watched Descendants The Rise of Red twice and it's not great but surprisingly entertaining I can't explain it
Starting with the good stuff, I liked the songs they don't go as hard or iconic as the first movies but they're good I've been listening to the soundtrack nonstop, I liked Rita Ora as the Queen of Hearts how she portrayed being an tyrannical ruler, an abusive mother and a hurt resentful person she was the one who surprised me the most honestly (her outfits and makeup 10 outta 10) , Bringing back Brandy and Paolo Montalban as Cinderella and Prince Charming was such a great idea and their scenes where so nice,I did like our main leads and their story arcs specially Chloe's they finally give a kid of a hero something, Bridget was adorable, I love her she was so sweet and deserved better and last but not least I did like Cameron Boyce's tribute it was sweet and heartfelt and sad that Carlos's also gone in the descendants world.
And nooooow to the bad stuff oh boy.
Visual effects mediocre like always in this franchise come on Disney you can throw a couple of bucks to the budget you have the money, so the story and logic in this movie is whack and makes no sense I won't repeat them here but if you seen any reaction or review you know that there are several plot holes in the conclusion of the story, what was the point of introducing all these younger versions of the villains of they are not gonna do anything with them??? The only one who gets a modicum of depth was Uliana and even then her motives are just laughable when she was the cause of her own humiliation. (Also the level of disrespect they do to Maleficent's character being a lackey to a lesser known villain like what happened to her being the most evil villain?!?)
They bring back Uma and she only gets like less than 10 minutes of screen time I was excited to see her as the principal
Why do the heroes and their kids now have colored hair?!? I only thought that the VK got the anime treatment and it doesn't work on them, like what was that random blue streak on Prince Charming (me and my cousin were laughing when we noticed it), younger Ella's hair was just tragic and they had a lot of inconsistencies with the volume of Chloe's hair.
Couldn't we get a flashback to the infamous prank I wanted to see it so badly, could have been like Carrie made us understood better Bridget's turn to evil and how she stopped being friends with Ella.
This movie out of nowhere ends like the pacing was good and with the buildup of castle coming you think the main characters are gonna be in it and see history change but nope they go back to their time and everything is good like what?
It feels like they ran out of budget while making this and had to hastily do some rewrites to the ending so they can have a movie.
Even though this movie has many many many issues I had a good time, it was entertaining I was jammin to the music, the characters were good (well the main ones at least) but the story was so so bad it has potential and like any descendants it ain't the end so hope they learned their mistakes for the sequel or bring back Kenny Ortega.
Can't rate this movie it has me so dumbfounded by how bad it is but at the same time how much I enjoyed it maybe because I have a soft spot for Wonderland who knows.
