"Trev's freaking out because of you." The middle Hughes brother announced, looking down at his phone. The girl rolled her eyes at his statement.

"He can survive one hour without talking to me." The singer said, making Luke chuckle slightly has his eyes focused back on the TV.

Alanna scoffed as he eyes looked at the chain of message the Zegras boy had left her.

"Excuse me." She whispered before standing up from the couch and walking into the bathroom.

"Finally!" Trevor exclaimed as he answered her phone call.

"Leave Jack alone."

"Lanny, I am getting eaten alive in my comment section, and all you have to say is leave Jack alone?" The boy spoke, clearly being dramatic.

"Trev, just ignore it. No ones actually gonna send you their therapy bills or try to kill you."

"You don't know that." The younger boy sassed through the phone, making Alanna sigh.

"You kinda deserve it, babes."

"Hey!"

"You broke my heart!"

"But I also fixed it!"

"Yeah, and now you're Becky's number 1 public enemy." It was now her turn to sass the boy, who let out a gasp at her words.

"I am not! Becky loves me!"

"She said if you broke my heart again you're never gonna play hockey again."

"It's all jokes, baby. She doesn't mean it... I hope." The boy mumbled, making the girl giggle slightly. "I'm really proud of you, Lana." The boy added, all the playfulness in his voice gone. The girl smiled to herself in the mirror slightly.

"I'm proud of you too, Trev." The girl answered, and at the same moment, a manly voice spoke to Trevor in the background. The hockey player sighed a bit before focusing back on the girl.

"Listen, I gotta go back to training. I'll call you tonight, alright?" The boy announced, making Alanna frown slightly.

"I'll be waiting."

"I love you."

"I love you more, Trevs." The line disconnected after that, the girl now standing silently in the bathroom. Her phone screen black when she pulled it away from her ear and placing it into her pocket before walking back to the living room.

"I still can't believe you got back with him." Jack whispered after a couple of minutes of the three of them just watching the movie that was playing on the TV. The girl was now sitting on the same couch as Jack, since Luke had decided to lay down on the other.

The girl's eyes looked away from the screen and over to the boy, who was already looking at her. Luke's attention remained on the movie, not even hearing Jack's words.

"Do you think I'm being stupid?" The girl asked, her voice just as low has his. Jack nodded his head no, a slight smile appearing on his face.

"You make him happy, and he makes you happy. That's all that matters, Lanny. I don't know what he was thinking when... that happened, but he's so in love with you. When he came back from training camp in 2019, you were all he could talk about. It was always Lana this, Lana that. He's still like that." The boy mumbled, the memories of Trevor never being able to shut up for months because if the girl coming back to him.

"But that if that happens again?"

"Then he's the biggest idiot in the universe. You're the best thing that's ever happened to him, and he better be worshiping the ground you walk on for giving him another chance." The boy reassured her. Alanna would be lying if the thought of Trevor seeing other girls behind her back again wasn't constantly swimming inside her head.

"Thank you, for always being there for me."

"You're like my sister, Lanny, I'm always gonna be here."

you can't keep a straight face as joseph goes into a deep talk about how his vecna song is up and down by venga boys.

the thing is, he looks so fucking passionate talking about a euro trash song. but you can see the playful twinkle in his eyes as he does so, ever so often shooting you a quick glance to tell you that he's never serious when it comes to venga boys.

you hide your laugh in his arm, turning away from the person he's talking to and you hide it as a way that shows you're shy. joseph's got a secured arm around your shoulders, rests his cheek on top of your head as you nestle your face deeper into his blazer to cover your laugh.

perhaps you'd drunk too much of that drink.

"you should listen to it," he tells them. "it's so funky and amazing. it'll definitely help you escape vecna. i mean, i'm sure he'd like it too."

jamie's behind you, a drink close to his lips, and it looks like he's hiding his laughter with you. 'coz at this point joseph's talking about the meaning of the song. "see i chose it because it's up and down. y'know, because of the upside down. up...and down....upside down?"

you're thanking vecna it didn't last more than eight minutes.

"i'm sad no one has asked me what my vecna song is," jamie sighs. joseph still has an arm around your shoulders, swaying you both side to side to a music you can't understand but vibe to. "i mean, i'd like to talk about how fearless is my vecna song."

"how will you have a vecna song if you are vecna?" the question doesn't make sense, you think, but maybe it's the inebriation that took over your thoughts. "what, is he like, trying to escape himself!?"

"definitely," your boyfriend quips. "he needs therapy. he can't go off killing children."

you take joseph's right hand when he places his glass on a nearby table. and you find your fingers twirling the ring on his hand as a form of distraction, maybe a bit of boredom as jamie goes on a rant about how vecna still needs a vecna song

joseph's fingers fiddle with yours, a silent answer that says he's also getting a bit bored now. he argues still that vecna needs therapy not a song.

"hey, 'y hear that?" joseph whispers in you ear. you'd gotten too distracted from playing with the ring on his finger. "its head over heels, baby."

you look up at him, removing your cheek from his bicep. "tears for fears?"

"head over heels."

you squeal. you place your glass beside joseph's and take his hand, bringing him right in the middle of the bright multicolored floor. he's more than happy to come with you, holding your hand with just as much fervor as he spun you around until you're in his embrace, hands around your waist and swaying you to the song.

with hands around his neck and fingers pulling on the curls from the back of his head, you drunkenly smile up at him. joseph takes note of your intoxicated state, remembers not to trick you into thinking the glass was alcohol but really was just water.

"y'know, this would be my vecna song," you tell him, breath fanning over his face. joseph nudges his nose with yours as a gentle kiss, looking like two drunk teens at prom. but he doesn't care.

"still doesn't beat up and down,"

"ugh, shut up!" you throw your head back, whining a bit louder than you're supposed to. he laughs and his hand comes up over your mouth. "we both know you only say that for shits and giggles."

"you're right, lovie." he chuckles. he straightens your hair, hand coming up from your waist to your shoulder, dragging down to raise your interlocked hands. "you wanna know what it is?"

"to make myself stop laughing everytime someone asks you what your favorite song is, yes please baby," you smile at him.

joseph spins you around, eyesight blurred by the quick spin until you're back in his arms and your focused fixates on him and him only. "it's golden years by david bowie."

you beam. "really?"

"yeah!" he furrows his eyebrows for a second before he's smiling again. "i'll stick with you, baby, for a thousand years. nothing's gonna touch you in these golden years,"

"sap," you tease him, but press a kiss to his cheek because why not. "simp?"

"simp."

"oi," jamie cuts in between the two of you and hugs joseph, a similar pout on his face. his face is a bit pink, you observe. "i miss my girlfriend. wanna dance with you guys."

by the time the song ends (with jamie holding both you and joseph's hands as he sways to the song), the party does too. you're tripping down the carpeted floors of the hotel hallways, barefoot with your heels held by joseph who's leading you to your shared hotel room.

"i can't believe we're in brazil," you giggle at him. joseph shuts the door behind, placing your heels carefully on the side for you not to accidentally step on them. "ah, correction brazil!!!"

you mimic him from earlier, where he'd trilled the word 'brazil' for an interview. joseph shushes you by placing a hand over your mouth, lipstick staining his palm as he does so.

"you gotta keep quiet, baby," he warns you. joseph sits you down on the bed, goes to the other side to pour you a glass of water, and comes back with a slightly concerned look. "drink up, dove."

too tired to protest, you drink the water from the hotel glass, joseph holding it for you. you don't realize as soon as you swallow the drink you'd fallen down to the bed with a small pout.

"what's up, darling?" joseph discards his blazer, unbuttons the first three of his dress shirt and places his shoes aside next to yours. "tired, huh?"

"yeah," you exhale. "y'know, i saw a puppy down the hallway earlier. maybe we can shout at it and ask why it didn't come near you back at buzzfeed."

joseph's chuckle warms your befuddled heart. "we shouldn't shout at puppies, baby." he takes your hand into his and pulls you up. "now how 'bout a shower then i'll love on you, yeah?"

your eyes widen. "sounds like a great idea."

So i was listening to slay the princess soundtrack and i noticed a few details on some soundtracks and i wanted to share them so here we are! :33

(aka me sharing the noises that I didn't heard/didn't payed attention to in games soundtrack while playing)

In The Damsel soundtrack, occasionally there's a noise of someone walking through the grass. There's specifically a sound of the rustling grass under someone's feet as they walk. This sound is rather quiet and appears mostly for a second or two here and there and i never noticed it in game, and only noticed it when i was listening to this soundtrack in my headphones, purely because this noise is really quiet

Also, note, despite"I Just Want to Make You Happy" soundtrack being a "distorted" version of the Damsel soundtrack, this noise of the rustling grass doesn't appear in it!

Both Adversary and Prisoner soundtracks share a noise of a clock, somewhat old one, in their soundtracks, but while in Adversary it's more loud and prominent, in Prisoner it's more subtle(also, note: it's can be better heard in "I Don't Like Small Talk (The Prisoner ||) then in regular The Prisoner soundtrack where it's more subtle, while in Adversary, the clocking noise is more subtle on the Eye of the Needle soundtrack and more prominent on Adversary)

There's this scraping noise of something (probably claws), well, scraping against glass, metal and maybe even strings(?) through the whole "Two Miserable Wretches (The Witch |||)" soundtrack. It's especially loud in the beginning and middle parts of the song, while in other parts of the soundtrack, this noise is more subtle(or doesn't appear at all). Also, the sighs!!! I think they're more obvious, but they do appear more often with this scraping sound(not counting the end of the soundtrack) than in other parts of the song

"Eyes on Me (Prisoner |||)" soundtrack has occasional noise of something, similar to someone trying to say something, but their speech sounds cut of and almost like, reversed(?), not sure how else to explain. It appears around beginning of the song, and near the end, otherwise you won't hear it. But it's rather prominent when it appears

In very beginning of "The Fury" soundtrack, if you listen closely, you can hear a sound of distorted weeping. I couldn't hear it after 00:29 mark, so i guess it doesn't appear for the rest of the song, but damn. This weeping sounds really pained despite the distortion. Also, since The Fury soundtrack is right after The Tower/Apotheosis soundtracks in the official playlist, i think this weeping is supposed to reference the Broken crying over Tower being killed in previous chapter, but maybe im just overthinking :PP

Clocking sound appears again, in Mutually Assured Destruction(The Razor |||)! It sounds different from the one in Adversary and Prisoner. While in their themes, the clock sounds more old(?) in Razor it's more sharp and clear sounding. Like a newly bought clock

(probably very obvious detail, but gonna mention it anyway) To Be Everything and Is To Be Nothing soundtrack is a mix of all Princess variants soundtracks put one over another. This really helps to emphasize on who The Stranger supposed to be. Everything and Nothing at all

Also, talking about The Stranger and their soundtracks. There's this electric noise through the main Stranger soundtrack here and there, like some mistake or glitch appears here and there, and there again. As the song progresses it becomes slightly quieter(although, even in the beginning it isn't exactly the loudest)

Subtle noise of metal scraping against metal here and there(or maybe creaking? Not sure). Similar to the noise of opening a really old window or door, on The Spectre soundtrack. This noise appears around beginning and somewhere after the middle part of the soundtrack

YET AGAIN, MORE CLOCKING NOISE BUT ON SPECTRE THIS TIME!!! Appears on "Im Taking What i Want (The Spectre |||)" soundtrack. The clock sounds fast and clear. In some part there's also a noise of glasses, being lightly clicked again one another(maybe even scraped in some parts of the song?)and sound similar to glasses being used as instruments or something, not sure how else to explain

More scraping/glassy(?) noises on The Wraith soundtrack. More louder in the beginning and near the end, and more subtle through the rest of the soundtrack

"Im Taking What Im Owned (The Wraith ||)" soundtrack has occasional breathing sounds through the whole soundtrack. At first it's just female breathing then the male one follows it. Both sound like desperate gasping for breath or desperate attempts to regulate your breathing after running out of fear for gods know how long, which really adds to the soundtracks atmosphere

More distorted clock noises on The Nightmare! The clock in her soundtrack sounds like some old recording of a clock, that got somewhat damaged and distorted with time, sounding more like an echo. But in a few parts this distorted clock mixed with normal, clearer clocking noise. In "Let. Me. Out. (The Nightmare ||)" clock sounds old, slow, but clear. It appears through most of the songs. On "I Want To Watch It Happen (The Nightmare |||)" clock is loud and clear, but slow paced, but near middle and end parts of the soundtrack it sounds faster, but less clear and more raspy(?). In Moment of Clarity, the clock is very deep, loud, but distand sounding

(why is there so much CLOCK NOISES IN ALMOST ALL SOUNDTRACKS???)

There's occasional roaring(or sound similar to it) during "I Am So Much More Than You (The Beast ||)" soundtrack, along with some other noise that sounds like a quiet growl. Near the end there's also a sound of someone biting/tearing into flesh. And, there's even more growling and roaring, although less subtle, on The Den. Honestly, the growling, in some parts, mostly reminds of sound of a huge chain being dragged

There's occasional, soft female breathing on The Wild, it sounds sorta similar to the same noise on the Wraith. Maybe the same sample was used for both of them, but i can only guess. It sometimes hard to hear over the singing, but it's still there! These echoing breaths

"The Long Quiet" soundtrack also has occasional sounds that reminds me of someone breathing in and out, although im not sure if it's actually noises of breathing or just noise that's similar to it in the soundtrack

I think that's all? But i may update this, when i have time to listen to the whole soundtrack again <:33

Did i just spent gods know how many minutes typing something useless as this? Yes

Update: there's knocking sound in "The Spectre" soundtrack. Specifically sound of knocking on the wood, knocks sound heavy and loud. appear around middle part of the soundtrack and mostly after it. There's also softer knocking, somewhere closer ending part of the song, if im correct it only appears once. It sounds sorta like two sticks softly being hit against one another(there's a musical instrument that sounds like this knocking on the soundtrack, but I don't remember it's name)

Update 2: very faint, deep female singing in the beginning and middle parts of "Its in Our Nature (The Witch ||)" soundtrack. It's really hard to hear it, but it's there

1. Nerdy Prudes Must Die

title song at first woah !! will branner and jon mattesons vocals are literally insane is this song. "IIIIIIM NOT A LOSER" forever engraved into my brain.

2. Hatchet Town

SUCH A BANGER. everything about this song is the perfect group number. it just flows soooo well and the harmony is so crisp. the bridge bit is not my fav but all the vocals and everything is just so good. also im a sucker for "all the characters are blaming eachother" songs 😵😵

3. Cool as I Think I Am (Reprise)

they are so sad and in love i love them sm. the harmony is so scrumptious and their voices blend so well. also i just love reprises. "You're not as cool as you think you are" "But you're as smart as I know you are" SHUT UP THEY ARE SO SPECIAL TO ME

4. Literal Monster

Apex Predator but better.

(no but fr didn't expect my ranking for this to be so high but it's just so good. highlights all the nerd characters and such a good chorus. the end section with max's "You wont defeat my kiiiiiind, A predator of my siiiiiize" + "You can watch as I riiiiiiise, I WILL CLAIM WHAT IS MINE" i think is what pushed this up so far those lines are just SO good)

5. The Summoning

mmmm everything about this song just sounds so yummy. the actual summoning bit in the beginning is actually so good with the singing over the chanting and whispering. all the lords in black literally ATE with this song and the like background ensemble vocals add so much. i think the only reason this wasn't higher than literal monster is that for some reason i literally CANT when a song has large chunks of dialogue in the middle of it. pokey being called a nasty boy stops me in my tracks every time i listen 💀. but the overall song absolutely makes up for the dialogue for me !!

6. Dirty Dudes Must Die

all the pervs literally running: 🏃🏃🏃

i mean i said i loved a reprise (kinda) ! angela girratana is just so good guys i love her sm. her voice is just so specific and it works SO well for this song. not only that but the last 30 secs of this song is just SO good. the ensemble bit with the "if i can finally be cool i will know that i'm not a loser" under grace’s "who will pray for you-" AND THEN RIGHT AFTER THAT COMING IN WITH THE "Darkness will spare my soulllll." i actually audibly gasped when watching this for the first time.

7. Cool as I Think I Am

everything about this song is just so endearing. joey richter just embodied this role so well. the little "Oh-woah-oh-woah-oh oh" love it sm. again another one of the bangers with the last little bit of soloist singing over the ensemble line, so good.

8. Bully the Bully

HEAR ME THE FUCK OUT OKAY. I LOVE THIS SONG. LIKE I LOVE IT. ITS SO CATCHY. ITS SILLY. THE HARMONIES ARE SO GOOD. I LOVE THE FIVE OF THEM SO MUCH. BUT. i physically cringe any time the "cool beans" bit happens. "bean school? excellent!" i cant. please. 😭😭

no but overall it's so catchy and without that little bit i think it would've been up at like 5 or 6. everyone has their little part and it's such a good song. also kinda a jumpscare when they talk about cutting off his nips and him shitting his pants but yk whatever

9. High School Is Killing Me

THIS IS HOW YOU DO A OPENING NUMBER. hopping right in with the "IM DEEEEEAD" its just so good. everyones voices just blend so well in this song and the chorus is SO PERFECT. again, the whole dialogue thing is not it for me. plus the whole problematic puppy twitter feed bit was not my fav. i think if it was just the first minute and a half of this song it would've been higher than cool as i think i am.

10. Dirty Girl

ok. where tf do i start. the vocals for this song are INCREDIBLE and angela and will's voices both have this like powerful belt with a little grit that complement each other SO well. and omg the "I'm-a, I'm-a, I'm a good girl" its just so perfect. BUT. listening this song is just like so uncomfortable 💀💀. after i hear "daddy needs a little of that dirty soup" i cannot move throughout my day normally please stop.

11. Just for Once

i actually feel so bad for putting this song so low because lauren lopez's vocals are SO incredible. its just not as catchy as the top ten and ruth's voice is a little too nasaly for me. this song would actually be a really good audition song methinks

12. Bury the Bully

ik some people really love this song and ik i just said i love the reprises (and upon first listen this song was like top 6.) but ! idk after obsessively relistening its just not up there for me. theres nothing bad about the song but in the words of pete "This is a lot." also when grace says "GIVE THOSE TO ME" at the very end of the song WHAT THE FUCK IS SHE REFERRING TO???

13. If I Loved You

I love this song it's so good it just doesn't compare to the reprise. mariah rose faith casillas actually ate up these vocals though.

hiiii so the funny thing about this playlist is that it was from before i even started posting about divorced zukka but i still had the headcanon of zuko and sokka dating when younger, breaking up, and then getting back together as middle aged adults. the playlist follows that exact same sequence cause im too lazy to write the fic so this is my way of writing the divorced zukka fic

ok so im not gonna explain the whole thing but I'll try to be a bit brief about what the songs talk about without getting into Why cause i know i'll be here for hours if i do so

1-3: sokka's section. it is set in canon and the vibe here is "i need to be strong, i need to be brave and tough like my father, like a real man, i have depression, i need to be the warrior, i do all the protecting but who is going to save me, i'm just asking for a kiss, one day i am going to die, etc"

4-9: zuko's section. set in canon up till "working for the knife" which is about him being firelord which suuuuucks. ehh you get the gist of it he is flawed, he is fucked up, he doesn't know what he wants, he is the forest fire, he is watching himself burn, he just needs something that will fill him up, etc and then he is crowned firelord and he gets worse but in a different way

10-11: classic sokka and zuko parallelism. hungry to be something they cannot be, thinking that that thing is what they should want, that that is what they are really hungry for. Wrong

12-13: set in the boiling rock. both would be from sokka's perspective and first love late spring is there because of how zuko holds sokka back from doing this reckless thing alone and end up killing himself "one word from you and i would jump off of this ledge im on baby. tell me don't so i can crawl back in" and heat lightning is about sokka surrendering and giving in to accepting that he needs help, he can't do this alone and so he allows zuko and co to carry this load with him and work together to get out of tbr

14-15: zuko and sokka start dating years after the war. "come into the water" is basically "come here, let's take this risk together. we both know it could be a mess but we don't really care about that right now, tell me you want me to do this and i'll come into the water with you" and for a while, it is all good. sokka and zuko start falling in love, they start taking care of each other, thinking that they can heal like this together and it'll all be good. there is still some issues in there like sokka's protectiveness that can end up hurting him "while you sleep, i'll be scared. so by the time you wake, ill be brave" but during that period in their relationship, they feel like nothing can get to them as long as they're together in their safe space.

16-18: the problems arise. they both knew that this had to be secret because of zuko's position, homosexuality being illegal in the fire nation, the assassination attempts that could worsen if the truth came out, and both their reputations but it's hard keeping it secret when they wish they could be like this not only behind locked doors. as well as that, sokka feels inferior here in the fire nation and it's not just the way the court talks about and at him and the way he's treated because of the fire nation's racism, it's that feeling that in a way he is betraying the water tribe, his family, his mother, everyone. what is he doing here in a nation that caused him and everyone so much harm? and he can separate how he feels about zuko from how he feels about the fire nation but it feels wrong sometimes, they feel like the same person sometimes.

18: this could also be seen as the proposal gone wrong or what leads up to it. they both aren't talking things through with full honesty, they try to avoid conflict cause their relationship is their one good thing at the moment. "sorry i can't take your touch, it's not that i don't want you" is basically sokka refusing the proposal to me. those aren't his words, they both just burst out at each other and make it all a mess. and sokka wants zuko but he can't sacrifice himself to spend his whole life there in a nation that he just doesn't feel right in, which might be one of sokka's few "im doing this for me" moments, and so this ends their relationship. huzzah.

19: breakup song. thinking that's where you loved me. me too zukka

20-21: classic zuko self-deprecation momence. "when you leave me, i should die. i deserve it, don't i?" and "i don't blame you if you want to bury me in your memory, im not the boy i ought to be" etc

22: sokka's lament. "i know i ended it but why won't you chase after me?" i know that this is what i must do but why won't you come back and try to change my mind? what if you just don't care anymore? why didn't you stop me even if we both know that we can't change this?

23: "you're my best friend now i have no one to tell how i lost my best friend" no comment

24: aghhhh this love is a star it's so gone now it's so over

25: we are so back!!!! as reluctant friends. this is zuko and sokka's first formal reunion together where they actually sit down together and awkwardly talk and pretend they don't have feelings. they are both lying when they say they haven't told anyone ofc they have. in my mind, this is when zuko has izumi now and they're catching up and trying to be friends again

26-27: that doesn't fucking work, they don't want to be friends. they always want each other when they think they're finally fine, they're both foolish to bet on this "whatever it is" when they know they're bound to lose. they want each other but they can't have each other, they hold the cards, they have a chance but taking that risk could ruin everything

28: oh my gooood fuck it let's hook up for old time's sake but also we both know that this shit won't go anymore but let's take this chance only for today (becomes a frequent thing every time sokka visits)

29: sokka has a realization and finds out that zuko still does have feelings. he wanted him but he couldn't reach sokka again, he's been keeping all of him in his memory to try to keep that love and now Sokka knows. oh shit wtf what now?

30: zuko and sokka have a talk. they have a small moment. maybe there is slow dancing involved. it really was foolish of us to think that we could stay the same. it would be so wonderful to go back to when we were younger, that short time was beautiful while it lasted. we both know that there is love in here but it can't happen again. im sorry

31: SIKE!!!! WE ARE SO BACK FR THIS TIME. you are the one i want, you're the one i've got, i'm not wasting this one lifetime without you. i will be the one you need, the way i can't be without you

32: zukka undivorced arc baby zukka back together. i know i've kissed you before but i didn't do it right, i haven't kissed you the way i should. let me kiss you like it used to be, not hurried or desperate, let me do it right and let me try again and again and again until we get it right. maybe there is no way to get it right and perfect but they still kiss so it's a perfect excuse

33: zuko and sokka retire, zuko ends the monarchy, they run off to the water tribe together just like they planned from the beginning. they could be anywhere but it doesn't matter where, they just want to be still with each other

34: *sokka voice* yue i just had a weird prophetic dream so if i die, look after zuko for me

35: sokka death scene amv. zuko loses sokka forever this time and there's no coming back now. he doesn't know how to be strong anymore if sokka isn't here to see him

one of the best things that happened to me in 2023

getting a tumblr really was one of the best things that ever happened to me in 2023

let me explain

so i have very… sheltering parents. they like to control what im watching and listening to, they don’t like me having social media. not an insane amount, but just like… to make sure i don’t see or hear anything completely appropriate, cos i am 13 years old. maybe control is the wrong word. but you know what i mean.

the problem with this is, it means that i don’t tend to know about current affairs/events that happen in the world/any major issues going on. not like in a way that lead me to have wrong ideas about anything, like for example the LGBTQ+ community, but in a way that means that i don’t know anything about that community… at all. i didn’t know what the word gay meant until much more recently than probably anyone else on this site. i don’t hear anything about the Palestinian occupation, because my parents will always turn the radio off if it’s talking about something “upsetting”. i mean fuck, i barely knew anything was going on in the middle east until i got a tumblr.

its not that i had the wrong opinion, it’s not that i support israel. i just didn’t have an opinion. full stop.

so when i got a tumblr, i had to very quickly catch up on everything that’s happened… ever. like yes i updated myself on the Palestinian occupation, i learnt what the rest of the letters in the LGBTQ+ acronym were, what they stood for, and what those words meant. but the way i grew up meant that i never heard very much music on the radio, just whatever my parents wanted to listen to. which would’ve been fine, because we have similar music taste. but it was getting genuinely ridiculous. to give an example, i never heard the song Blank Space until 2023.

2023.

that song came out in 2014. hell, it was RE released in 2023. people would sing popular songs and ask me why i didn’t know them. what was i supposed to tell them? that my parents didn’t listen to that music, so i didn’t either?

so why did they act like that? were they scared, for example, that i would become LGBTQ+ if i ever found out that that community existed? nope. i came out at bisexual to my parents February 2023, and they were both pretty ok with it (it was awkward and still is, but they’re not homophobic). were they worried id upset myself by finding out about the horrific things happening to innocent Palestinians? well, even if they were, it’s better that i know, so that i can try to do something about it. nothing can change if we’re all kept in the dark, right?

so. in November 2023, i got me a tumblr. found out about it from Pinterest, which my parents would also kill me for having. i love this site. i love my moots. my parents will never know.

thanks for reading, i guess. i don’t really know where i was going with that, but i am pretty pissed at my parents for not letting me find out about fucking current events. letting me listen to normal pop music like a lot of teens do. i may only be 13, but im not stupid. and they’ll never find my tumblr.

1. What was the first part of your wip that you created?

probably the concept of a god of the forest saving a villager from the wild hunt. i didnt have loifa or rowan created, mind, just the vague idea of a god interrupting mischievous fairies who were about to kill/kidnap/do gods know what to a village boy who made a very stupid mistake. the whole scene is now an interlude in fantasy romance wip.

2. If your story was a TV show, what would the theme song/intro be?

no clue, honestly. shout out to queen's deception from the destiny soundtrack though, it'd have a similar vibe.

3. Who are your favourite characters you've made? Why?

from fantasy romance wip? im risking being obvious here, but its between loifa and rowan. probably rowan, i think. the boy is just trying SO hard and loifa is just SO much to deal with. tbh he has older sister energy and i sympathize with that.

4. What other pieces of media do you think would share a fan base for your story?

that's a very interesting question. my wip is mostly inspired by the fifth season and ffxiv, but in very different ways, so it's hard for me to say that ppl who liked both would like it. bc you know... fantasy romance wip is a romance (allegedly!)... and the fifth season and ffxiv aren't...

(well, ffxiv is if you try hard enough but)

let's say i wouldnt be surprised if someone who liked nettle & bone and the cruel prince also liked fantasy romance wip. id expect that person to be aroace and/or queer in some way though, ngl.

5. What has been your biggest struggle with your wip?

the middle!!! and the length!! it's kinda bizarre just how much needs to happen and how i need to fit so much into a standalone and i still have no middle to speak of?? like how does that even happen

also, you know... the romance.... :(

6. Are there any animals in your story? Talk about them!

lots of animals!! or beasts in general. good honest folk (cows, horses, sheep just minding their business and being slaughtered for no good reason by Things) and the mischievous crowd (carnivorous deer, three eyed owls, said Things), etc. no little guys to speak of so far, though.

7. How do your characters get around? (ex: trains, horses, cars, dragons, etc.)

on foot. there are only like two horses left in the marrow (the village) and they are working horses, so they arent used for travel/getting around.

8. What part of your wip are you working on rn?

(through blood, sweat and tears) [the beginning of] the middle!!!!

9. What aspects (tropes, maybe?) of your wip do you think will draw people in?

weird magical forest + god/mortal relationship + tiny town/village energy + secrets + the aroace lens. basically.

10. What are your hopes for your wip?

id be very contented if i finished it honestly :(

kate bush is a musical artist that was mainly active throughout the 80s. she was born in a small town in the middle of nowhere in the uk, in 1958. she's most well known now for her song "running up that hill", which was popularized by the show *stranger things*. while her music falls under the "pop" label, it's very eclectic , experimental, and incorporates lots of traditional celtic sounds.

Kate also occasionally used her music as a way to speak about social/political issues, like in army dreamers and the dreaming. unfortunately, his mother and his step-father also fight. but this time, not wanting his brother to go through what he did, ended up being the peacekeeper and the mediator. he learned how to analyze/observe his parents behaviours and traits and tries to get ahead before things blow up out of proportion (they start yelling at him too, it gets really bad every month, and he learns to tune it out somehow)

was always an artistic kid, he started graffiti art as a way to vent his frustrations because he has nowhere else to dump then. he ended up connecting with music for that same reason too

he can play the bass and the drums, was in a band in school for a while just for fun

loves dancing, fell in love with choreographing in general. he thinks it's a beautiful way to express yourself, he would make up random dances to trending songs that he can do with his brother

more than a woman is the ultimate kevin day song to me……. im so glad you agree…… i knew you would understand. i was listening to that playlist the other day and realized i HADNT added it yet and it felt like an oversight so i had to fix it immediately. it was very important to me the whole playlist wasn’t sad. i stsrted my kevin playlist in the height of me losing my mind about him last year in july (i read the books for the first time at the end of may!) but it only made me crazier so i held off making the jean one until november LOL. his is def a little more sad but i think a good portion of the songs are hopeful :-) and YEAH jean is soooo hozier to me. i gave myself a limit on how many hozier songs i could add. it will probably be broken eventually

DBSIDBSID. the kandrew beef is Personal and it’s so funny. i am working on making them get closer it just takes a lot of time bc andrew simply does not like to stick around. he comes to a sort of truce with them at some point, mostly after he and jean have a Talk alone, but he still doesn’t like kevin for a while. there IS side andreil tho…. neil is 26 :3 he comes to visit kevjean in paris for a bit and immediately causes problems. but the problems help them get their shit together so it’s fine! andrew is of course intrigued. most of it happens in the background tho bc they like to disappear together…… but neil actually ends up in foster care and gets adopted by wymack when he’s around 13, which is around the same age andrew is adopted and meets jeremy, so they understand each other still :) they do a lot of sneaking around and do not want their relationship perceived at all vs jeremy knox head of the PDA committee and very happy for his own friend finding love.

the biting…….. jeremy falls somewhere in the middle of the spectrum but he does suffer from the most intense feelings of love anyone has ever felt and will latch on like a dog and not let go sometimes. it really depends on his mood and what they’re doing how hard he bites ^-^ jean almost never complains but kevin always does. as is how they are. and they really both love attacking kevin. sitting there biting at his neck and shoulders and jean in particular likes gnawing on the wrist bone. jeremy is only a few inches shorter than kevin but will not hesitate to push him around….. dreamy sigh. at first he’s very nervous about overstepping Anything around either of them but once he knows that they actually like him he becomes such a menace. it’s his life’s duty to make kevin day, his childhood celebrity crush, a little embarrassed and whiny. both he and jean are soooo happy to tease kevin and kevin complains constantly about being ganged up on. jeremy is actually still IN college too, he turns 23 toward the beginning of the fic (i. hc him as a cancer!) and he and andrew have their fifth year to get through so he’s really just some college kid nibbling on and picking on them and taking over their apartment. trust that jean gets teased too he wouldn’t want anyone left out!

JEANFO….. jean….. my apple strudel….. there is so much i could say about him but it feels hard to do him justice…… he really is so special. he’s a little more healed of course bc he’s 28 and has always had kevin keeping contact with him. kevin got out at 14 so jean was there for 6 years without him and it’s really. it’s not a good time for him. but kevin refuses to lose contact and even sneaks across state lines to see him at 16 when he gets his license (with 14yo neil). jean has always had something to hold onto and live for. so jean is doing okay……. he still struggles and he’s very stubborn so he would rather AVOID things and kevin isn’t the kind of person who’s going to push him to face them (kevin has his own things to avoid) but he gets a good push from jeremy. and he LOVESSSS keremy. it’s one of his greatest joys that the two people he loves most care about each other the way they do. he’s so obsessed with them and so excited to show them off when they get together with friends. he’s really a little bit of a clingy freak :-) ESPECIALLY if he gets drunk. he’s a very needy drunk and if someone doesn’t kiss him (or if he doesn’t get to bite) his whole night is ruined and they certainly can’t have that. he learns quickly he cannot keep up with jeremy Party Boy knox tho. he’s a silly guy <3 sooo bitchy to everyone outside of his boyfriends but tender with them…. they’re trusted with his girlish little heart. i could talk about him for ages but i fear tumblr will cut me off LOL our responses to each other are getting so long like we’re writing letters by candlelight to be sent post-haste…..

I hated my coaching but if i reflect back i had some moments I'm no longer urging for going into that field but here's some tea for y'all

My coaching was regarded as one of the best in my area but as soon as I entered there I got a kabristaan feeling , long alleyway, dead looking people as if someone killed each one with a dagger .

The seniors were so airy headed everyone looked so malnourished.

The first class was bio it was fun i liked it , then we had a physics class i wanted to die on the spot.

We had 2subjects per day, the second day zoology was great , chem was also great but but but the very next class chem teacher started behaving like a rag doll.

Chem teacher was sleepy and , i would never😭 say things to a person based on their looks but , he belittled me a lot so here it goes he was a platypus 🙇

Next botany teacher , he was initially nice to me , but the second year 😆 he couldn't stand me because i was very outspoken and has strong opinions, he was just idk weird

The worst experience was with my organic chem teacher he was young and used to call me names sometimes, one day he went on fat shaming me i spoke up to his face he started doing it more , saying mai tumhare bhale ke liye hi keh raha hoon , chal matchstick let's kushti larte hai ( p.s maybe my weight lifting medals will help) also he was so Proud and said Bengali mithais aren't tasty idiot !

Physics has 2 teachers , teacher 1 Was a sleepy black mamba, 2 nd teacher oh my lord i wanted to hit him with a brick, he was such a idk what to say , first of all iski padhai kuch samajh aati nhi thi mujhe , doosri baat ye engineering ke class mei Jake bolta tha medical ki ladkiya budbak hai , yes man you should complain about students to other students rather than helping them improve 🙏 .

Their was a math teacher we didn't study math , but he used to talk to us , one day i was doing phys sums in the class and he saw i was doing something wrong , he got on my shoulder from the back side and started writing in my copy to this day idk if he is a friendly person or this was something else.

The best person was my zoology teacher noble man extremely good will forever respect him 👑, he exactly understood my curiosity and whenever I asked questions he always had answers, also he thought I was the most intelligent so 😆🙏not to brag but yes it made me so happy.

Then the receptionist, what a Gaslighter , i wanted to stop coaching in the middle of 12 , she gaslighted me to coming for two months more , saying " bachha we have so many hopes from you , and shit and shit " but finally my naive brain moved oh and blocked her .

The caretaker bhaiyas were amazing, although i once shouted at one 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 about which im sorry because of exam anxiety and fear 🙏hope he forgave me , the other bhaiya was a student and very intelligent, hope a blessed life for them .

Now the good parts

We were a girl group of 4 , us being , E , S , P & T(me) , we were unhinged 💀 , every break time we went out , the classes were in the evening so and had food , chowmin, momos , bhelpuri etc etc , the teacher's were fed up of us because 😆 it wasn't allowed.

E is extremely talented ,S is lovely, she is very friendly as well , P is like a sister we all want , tbh i love them so much i can't describe them . ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

We all got the first test results i was so sad they sang songs for me and I'll forever love em .

I never scored the highest because 💀 i didn't wanna go for medical and was gaslighted into thinking i wanted to do it , man it has become my trigger now .

The teachers day celebration was so amazing its my fav memory , we all were happy maybe for the first time .

The children's day was my most most favourite because they fed each one of us biryani, all in all bas biryani hi thik thi ╮(╯_╰)╭ Baki sab insan elaichi ke bacche the .

The place was on the 3 rd floor so we used to gossip in the balcony at night and the sky was so pretty i felt calm for such a small time.

There's just one senior G, she adored me so much and used to say i was the most interesting, i don't believe it but omg i just love her , she got a gold medal, for studying this year so happy for her ! 💖
