inconsequential season 3 observations:
- joseph morgan’s cheeky little dimple is quite devastating and it’s driving me feral
- seeing elena slowly succumb to damon against her own self-expectation is delightful beyond words
- it sometimes looks like paul wesley wants to break character and laugh at shit and i love that
- i’ll always defend my girl katerina petrova like she’s just a woman alone in the world you feel

i love how at some point stefan really just decided to become the “i know this and i love you” meme about damon, thank god for co-dependent brother dynamics, where would my blog be without them

NCIS, Gibbs and the reader are undercover, the only way to maintain their cover is to get married but it is not supposed to get filed. Yet one the guys files it to get even, and there is a law saying they have to stay married and live together for so long until they get a divorce (because Gibbs has been divorced 3 times) The reader is having a hard time since she truly loves and THINKS it is one-sided.
[A/N] ahhh I hate how I hate my writing sometimes
Why me? I mean, I’ve dreamt about this but… why me?
Standing opposite him, holding his hand as the clerk droned on about the vows you were supposed to exchange. Your mind was a whirlwind of thoughts. You have thought about this so many times. But never like this, not under the harsh bright lights of a courthouse. Never for a mission.
You and the team finally uncovered an upcoming “shipment” belonging to the human trafficking organization you’d been tracking for months. This was your chance to bring them down. But you hadn’t expected it to cause you this much of a headache.
Abby had created covers for both you and Gibbs, including fake criminal activities, fabricated records, transactions, and past aliases. Gibbs becomes "Jack Lawson," a seasoned and the cold and calculating, ruthless trafficker with a reputation for leaving no witnesses if things went south. You take on the role of "Elena Lawson," his equally cunning and business-savvy wife. You had to pretend to be Gibbs’ wife.
It should be easy. After all, you’d spent years working beside him, learning his every move, how to anticipate his orders, how to cover his back in the field, and how to decipher his gruff silences. But this was different. This wasn’t just another mission; this was playing house with the one man you’d secretly loved for years. And the worst part? You had to act like it was all just business.
But of course, to you, it was more than that.
You look at the ring on your finger and you can’t help but imagine what it would be like if it were real.
At the beginning of the undercover mission, everything felt so awkward. Like the two of you were strangers forced to stay in the same room for the night. All you spoke about was the mission and only the mission. It was almost as though Gibbs was afraid to cross a line and make you uncomfortable. But at the same time, you didn’t want to make him feel uncomfortable.
But one night, that tense atmosphere changed. One night, you fall asleep on Gibbs’ shoulder while watching TV. When you wake up, you find that he hasn’t moved, his arm still around you. You look up as much as you can without moving your head to find that he is also asleep. You snuggle closer into his side and you are soon lulled to sleep by his warmth.
When you wake up, you are no longer on the couch, you are in the bed. The bed you two were supposed to be sharing, but Gibbs always sleeps on the couch. The sun is up, and the smell of coffee and bacon fills the air.
You slip out of bed and tiptoe to the kitchen. Gibbs is there, his back to you. The muscles ripple as he moves, and for a brief moment, you allow yourself to appreciate the sight.
He turns around, breakfast ready on plates, “Morning Sweetheart,” he smiled, placing the plates on the dinner table. The pet name feels like a dagger in your heart, because no matter how hard you wish or how much you dream, you’d never really be his sweetheart.
You pulled out your chair and sat down with a sigh, “You don’t have to call me that when we’re alone,” you said, tucking yourself under the table ready to dig into the food, “Just like how we don’t have to share the bed,” you finished as you picked up the fork to dig into the breakfast that, even you had to admit, looked delicious.
But before you could, Gibbs sat opposite you, that look in his eyes he gives you as if he’s reading your thoughts. The way he stares at you as if he’s deciphering every dark corner of your mind. Which, if he could, he’d immediately regret it and you’d die of embarrassment.
You tried to ignore him and started to eat the bacon, and to your surprise. It was good. So good it made you laugh.
“What’s so funny?”
“Nothing… it’s just, I didn’t know you knew how to cook,”
“What gave you that idea?”
“I’ve seen your fridge, Gibbs,”
Gibbs chuckled, a rare sound that echoed in the apartment, a sound that you wish you could hear on repeat.
But soon the conversation changes, back to reality. Later this evening you are expected to attend a party with some of your targets, or should you say “associates”. You are dreading it. Dreading having to be close to Gibbs, him hold you close to him, as close as he was last night. Maybe dance with him.
What if you mess up? What if you step on his feet?
---
You stood in front of the mirror, adjusting the strap of your dress for what felt like the thousandth time tonight. The dark red fabric clung to your figure in a way that made you feel both beautiful and vulnerable. The mission demanded perfection – and so did you.
Tonight was important to the mission. Tonight, you were going to interact with a group of people with connections to the human trafficking “business”, but you knew you could handle that. But could you handle Gibbs? Could you handle being close to him for that long? His arm around your waist, his warm breath on your neck.
The knock on the bedroom door startled you out of your thoughts. You looked at the clock on the dresser, exactly the time he said he would knock. You took a deep breath and smoothed the fabric of your dress one last time. You were a professional. You could do this.
Right?
When you opened the door, there he stood, looking impossibly handsome in a tailored suit. His blue eyes swept over you, his expression unreadable, as always.
“You look beautiful,” he said simply, his voice low and gravelly.
“Thanks,” you replied, trying to keep your tone light, despite the dance the butterflies were having in your stomach right now, “You clean up pretty well yourself,”
His lips curled into a faint smile as he held out his arm. You hesitated just for a moment before slipping your hand into the crook of his elbow.
The car ride was quiet. Nothing but passing cars and the gentle hum of the engine. Any other time you’d be jumping at the chance to be alone in the car with Gibbs, but now? On this mission? It was fucking hell.
As you walked through the doors of the massive house the party was being held at, eyes were on you instantly. Assessing your every move. Gibbs places a hand on the small of your back, leading you towards the contact he had met before.
“Ah, you must be the beautiful, Elena,” he said as you stopped before him. He took his hand in yours and placed a kiss on your knuckles. You smile charmingly, hiding the fact that you would throw up if he touched you again, “You were not kidding. She is a beauty. If she were not your wife, she would get a pretty penny,”
Gibbs grip on your hip tightened, but he chuckled, maintaining his cover, “I bet,” he replied.
You smiled, leaning into Gibbs just a little, placing a hand on his chest, “My husband has always had good taste,” you said, your voice dripping with affection that wasn’t entirely an act.
The man grinned, clearly satisfied with your response. He motioned for a waiter to bring drinks, and soon you found yourself with a glass of champagne in hand, toasting to nothing in particular, as the conversation droned on.
As the night wore on, the party buzzed with the chatter of dangerous men. You moved through the crowd, sticking close to Gibbs, the two of you making small talk with people you wished you could arrest on the spot. But with no concrete evidence, you had to play the long game.
“Well, if it isn’t the most talked-about couple of the evening,” he said with a smirk. “I hear you two are quite the pair. Must be nice to have a wife who’s both beautiful and useful in our…line of work.”
You hated every word that came out of his mouth, but you didn’t let it show. Instead, you tilted your head, offering a coy smile. “We make a good team,” you replied smoothly. But despite that, Gibbs sensed you were uncomfortable.
Before he could reply, a slow song started to play and Gibbs turned to you, “Would you like to dance, Sweetheart?”
Everything in you screamed “NO!” but you had to. It was getting harder to block out your feelings, I mean you didn’t really want to. This here is what you wanted. To be near him, to hold him. To be loved by him. But you weren’t sure it was a risk you could afford to take.
Gibbs took your hand and led you to the dance floor and for a moment, it felt like the two of you were the only ones in the room. He placed one hand on your waist, the other holding your hand gently but firmly. You stepped closer, your bodies almost touching, and began to sway to the music.
As you moved together, the rest of the room seemed to blur, the noise of the party fading into the background. It was just you and Gibbs, moving together, as if you had done this a thousand times before.
You looked up at him, trying to read the expression in his eyes, but as always, he was unreadable. His face was calm, controlled.
“You’re quiet,” Gibbs murmured, his voice barely audible over the music. “Something on your mind?”
You forced a smile, trying to keep your voice steady. “Just trying to stay in character,” you replied, hoping he couldn’t hear the slight tremor in your voice.
As the song continued, you let yourself relax, just a little, allowing yourself to savor the moment. This was probably the closest you would ever get to having what you really wanted. So, you let yourself lean into him, just a fraction.
The song ended far too soon, and you reluctantly pulled back, feeling the cold rush in as the warmth of his body left yours. The room came back into focus, the noise and the lights and the people all returning to the foreground.
Thankfully the night ended and you two were both invited to the next “Shipment”. Which meant that maybe you could go home soon.
You and Gibbs walked out of the party, the cool night air hitting your face as you stepped outside. The silence between you was thick, almost like you could cut it with a knife. Gibbs opened the car door for you, and for a second, his hand brushed against yours. That tiny touch sent a shiver down your spine
The ride back to the safe house was just as quiet as the ride to the party. Your mind was spinning, thinking about everything that had happened tonight—the way he held you, the way his eyes looked at you when you danced. It was so confusing. You wanted to be close to him, but it scared you too.
As he parked the car outside your safehouse, for a moment, there was nothing but silence. You could feel him looking at you, like he was trying to figure out what you were thinking. But, as always, he didn’t say anything more. He just opened the door and got out of the car.
You followed him inside, walking up the stairs to the safehouse. Even though the room was small, it was neat and comfortable. The bed was made, and the couch where Gibbs insisted on sleeping was set up with a pillow and blanket.
As you stepped inside, you hesitated. Gibbs went straight to the couch, like he always did, already loosening his tie and taking off his jacket
“You don’t have to sleep on the couch, you know,” you said softly, the words slipping out before you could stop them.
Gibbs paused, glancing at you with that unreadable expression. “It’s fine. I’m comfortable here.”
You bit your lip, unsure of what to say next. “Okay,” you finally whispered, feeling a little disappointed but trying not to show it.
You turned away and headed for the bedroom, slipping out of your dress and changing into something more comfortable. As you climbed under the covers, you couldn’t help but steal a glance at Gibbs. He was lying on the couch, his eyes closed, but you could tell he wasn’t asleep yet.
“Goodnight, Gibbs,” you called out softly, your voice carrying through the small space.
“Goodnight,” he replied, his voice just as soft.
--
The next few days were hell. You had gone out for a jog and as soon as you come back, you wanted a shower. What you didn’t expect was your boss stepping out of the shower as you walked into the bathroom. You immediately covering your eyes and turning around. You apologised and walked out, doing anything to erase that mental image of your boss’ wet naked body in front of you.
Dinner that night was awkward. For you. Gibbs seemed to have a smug smirk on his face, the same one that had been glued there for the whole day. He had been joking that you walked in on him on purpose. It annoyed you because it wasn’t helping you forget.
Did you want to forget? No. but you didn’t want the added torture of something you wanted but could never have.
You couldn’t wait to arrest the bad guys and get back into your own house but it turned out DiNozzo, the little shit, decided this was the perfect opportunity to get back at you for a prank you pulled on him.
As soon as the mission was over, you both returned home to find a letter. A confirmation of your marriage certificate being filed. You immediately left your house and drove over to Gibbs’
“What the hell is this?” you asked as you burst through the door that was never locked.
“I don’t know, I got the same one,” Gibbs sighed, sitting on the couch.
“Well, we’re getting a divorce, come on,”
“[Y/N] it’s 10pm besides… we can’t” he replied, placing his bourbon on the table.
“The hell do you mean ‘we can’t’” you asked, slightly agitated. All you wanted tonight was to sleep in your own bed, in your own damn house. But no. Something was against you doing that.
“That new law the government set a couple of months ago to deter serial marriages and divorces. I’ve been divorced 3 times [Y/N] they’re not going to let us,”
“It was for a fucking undercover mission, Gibbs, I am not your wife,” you snapped, quite shockingly, you had never raised your voice to anyone, let alone Gibbs, “I am your colleague,”
“We can try and explain our situation, but I doubt it,”
You shake your head, your hands clenched into fists at your sides, knuckles white against your skin, “I don’t fucking believe this,” you said, not to Gibbs particularly. Just throwing it out into the room. Because not only did that law require you to stay married for at least a year, you had to live together too.
You’d just spent two weeks with Gibbs. A year?! A fucking year?! How the fuck were you going to survive that?
“It’s not fair, Gibbs, I shouldn’t have to live my life like this for a mistake, I shouldn’t have to do this,” you whispered, as the anger drained from you, your hands fell limp, and your covered your face as the first tear slipped down your cheek, “It was torture,”
“Yeah, I’ve been told,”
You don’t know whether it was the situation or the fact that you were so exhausted, but you let your attraction to him slip.
“Torture because it’s not the way I wanted it to happen!” you cried, “A fucking ring on my finger, fucking one sided feelings, two fucking weeks was bad enough, but a year, a year of you pretending to be my husband, i-I can’t do it,”
Without a word, he closed the distance between you, his hands gently pulling yours away from your face, but before you could react, his lips were on yours. The kiss was firm but tender, a mix of all the emotions that he too, had kept buried for so long.
You froze, shock stealing your breath, but his lips were soft. Slowly, the tension in your body melted away, replaced by something you didn’t dare name.
When he pulled back, his forehead rested against yours, his breath mingling with yours. His voice was low, almost a whisper, as he spoke, “It wasn’t torture for me.” His thumb brushed away a lingering tear on your cheek.
Your voice was barely above a whisper, trembling with disbelief. “You… like me?”
Gibbs held your gaze, his eyes softening in a way you’d never seen before. He didn’t need to say anything—the way his thumb traced gentle circles on your cheek, the way he looked at you, it said it all. But he answered anyway, his voice steady and sure.
“I love you, [Y/N]”

Epilogue
Gibbs wanted to give you a proper wedding, so he did. He planned the whole thing without your knowledge, with the help of your best friend, Abby.
Tony walked you down the aisle, still sporting that black eye you had given him despite how well everything turned out.
Something else that was unexpected but not a bad thing was your pregnancy. Well I suppose it’s sort of a bad thing in a way because Jimmy, Tim and Tony keep telling you to name the baby after them if it’s a boy. You had already chosen a name for a boy, Jackson, after your new father-in-law. But you couldn’t lie that some of the reasons they gave you to use their name were very entertaining.
One of Tony’s being “If you name him Tim, he’s going to be a nerdy virgin until he’s 40,”
You rolled your eyes as Tony continued to give you reasons why his name would suit your son better.
You turned to him, your smile never leaving your face as you asked, “You want another black eye?”
That immediately shut him up. Mental note; remember that for next time. He’s bound to piss you off again during your pregnancy. As soon as Gibbs found out you were pregnant, he got even more protective, and you didn’t think that was possible. You were now assigned to desk duty, and he left no room for arguments.
When you reached Gibbs at the front, Tony leaned in and whispered, “You’re welcome,”
“Another black eye, DiNozzo,” you warned, making him step back out of range.
Gibbs took your hand and smiled at you. You couldn’t believe this was actually happening. It kind of already did but you never expected him to go out of his way to give you the wedding you dreamed of since you were a teen.
Seven months later, Little Jackson decided he was ready to join the world, a whole week earlier than expected. You weren’t quite prepared for it, but there wasn’t much time to think. Jackson, who had been staying with you, quickly helped you to the car and drove you straight to the hospital. As soon as you were settled, he called his son.
Gibbs and the team were in the middle of a tough case, but the second he heard you were in labor, he rushed to the hospital. Abby insisted on coming too—she couldn’t wait to meet her nephew before anyone else.
At the hospital, everything happened fast. Nurses were everywhere, and the room was filled with the beeping of machines and hushed voices. Jackson stayed right by your side up until Gibbs entered the room.
After nine long hours, Little Jackson made his grand entrance and he soon meets his grandfather and namesake. Jackson had no idea you were naming your son after him so it got a bit emotional, not just him, you too.
Gibbs took some time off to be with you and the family. You decided to head back to Sweetwater with Jackson, to spend some much-needed time together as a family. The calm, small-town setting felt like the perfect place to start this new chapter, surrounded by the people you loved and who loved you back. It was a chance to take a deep breath, to enjoy the little moments, and to settle into your new life with Little Jackson.

You knew you were doing very wrong and awful thing. You had a sweet, loving boyfriend, Stefan Salvatore, who would do anything to see you happy. You had great friends and family, good grades in school—you were living your teenage dream.
But then you met Klaus Mikaelson.
And you wanted more.
As soon as your eyes met, you felt that shiver of excitement run down your entire body. He too, without knowing why, became interested in you. Y/N Gilbert. The doppelgänger's sister, the girlfriend of Stefan Salvatore, whom the Mystic Gang wanted to protect at all costs from all this supernatural shit.
But then, when Stefan walked over to you and, placing his hand on your waist, led you out of the Mystic Grill under Klaus' watchful eye, you knew your life would never again be the peaceful routine you were used to.
And you were excited about it.
When Elena would have given anything for a normal, peaceful life like yours, you had an overwhelming urge to go on a dangerous adventure. Create amazing, exciting memories. And Klaus noticed it. He noticed how you were suffocating in this structured relationship and in the perfect life of an ordinary man. And he was going to take advantage of it.
In your defense, you resisted him. Really.
You sent back all the ridiculously expensive gifts like dresses, jewelry, a car, and your own horse when he found out you were taking extra riding lessons after school.
So Klaus changed tactics. He started sending you pencil portraits he'd drawn, leaving little notes with compliments and poems he'd written (the guy was amazing at praising your beauty). And you, being forever that girl locked up in the fantasy world of books and appreciating a good old Jane Austen or Brontë sisters book romance, fell into his trap.
So after he courted you, saying so many beautiful words and leaving thousands of small gifts, you gave in to him.
The tension between you must have snapped one day. And it was exactly on your 18th birthday that both your boyfriend and friends forgot about this important day for you. But Klaus remembered. And he took you to fucking Norway so you could see the Northern Lights for yourself. Let's just say the day ended so well for both of you that you made use of Klaus' long-lost villa and stayed there all weekend.
Klaus turned out to be more than willing to keep you in his arms for longer.
It was supposed to be just a one-night stand. One thing he would point out to a vamp getting on his nerves the next time he got a chance. But one night turned into two, three, four, and honestly? Klaus has already lost count of the number of times one of you ended up in the other's bed.
There was something about you that delighted Klaus and drew him to you whenever you were in each other's presence. The worst part was that neither of you could resist this strange force that drew you to each other. Of course, only for you. You didn't want to break your cute boyfriend's heart, but you couldn't resist those gorgeous blue eyes, alluring lips, and talented hands of a powerful, terrifying hybrid that somehow wanted only you in his bed and by his side. Klaus, on the other hand, didn't care about anything other than making sure you were somehow in his presence every day. Whether it was just a few minutes of conversation, lunch, dinner and breakfast, or quick, hot, stolen moments in your bedroom.
The guilt grew inside you every time you were close to Stefan. You swore to yourself that you would sever whatever ties tie you to the hybrid, but every time you saw Klaus, whatever rational decision you made just got lost in your mind.
You were too busy with Klaus' overwhelming feeling on your body to care about anything else in the world.
Over time, your trysts turned into something more. You talked to each other and enjoyed the mere presence of the other without having to do any "adult stuff".
You were starting to feel more than lust for him. And it terrified you. But you were too deeply into Klaus Mikaelson to just walk away from him. To let go forever that feeling of excitement every time you sneaked up on each other and the overwhelming feeling that only a hybrid could make you feel. Klaus has destroyed you for any other man. And you both knew it. Just like the fact that you had control over him too.
And now, lying with him in his bed, snuggling after very long hours of activities, you realized one thing: You fell for the devil, who was sleeping peacefully while holding you close to him.
You shifted slightly in his arms so that you could cup his cheek with your hand. That damn handsome face was the cause of all your moral battles going on within you. Because how could you fall in love with a man who sacrificed your sister in a ritual and nearly killed your aunt Jenna? How could you love someone who threatened to kill your loved ones? And most of all... how, despite his many sins, were you able to still see in him the shadow of humanity that he carefully hid from the world?
"I can almost feel your cerebral convolutions burn out." he muttered, snapping you out of his thoughts. He opened one eye, staring at you searchingly. "What are you thinking about?"
"About you. I feel like I've only been thinking about you lately."
"Is that wrong?" he asked, propping his head up with one hand and playing with your hair with the other.
"I don't know yet." you whispered, staring at him. You could spend the rest of your life like this. Lying next to this captivating 1,000-year-old vampire. The question is, did he share your feelings?
"So let me reassure you and say that you, too, appear in my head more often than I could possibly allow, love. Thinking about those beautiful lips or enchanting eyes has nearly ruined my plans more than once."
"Always so good with words."
"And in many other things, my little human." he murmured, leaning in to cup your lips in a tender, slow kiss.
That's how things were with Klaus: slow, tempting, irritating, until the flame between you, fueled by those little banters, started to grow to the point where you both burned each other. And it was a feeling you never wanted to deprive yourself of. It doesn't matter how unethical and unfair it was to the people close to you.
The ringing of your phone snapped you out of this haze of pleasure. You somehow pushed Klaus away from you and reached for your phone on the nightstand. Elena. You groaned. The last thing you wanted was to talk to your sister.
"Be quiet for a minute, please." you asked the hybrid before you answered the phone. "Elena? What's going on?"
"Where are you?"
"House."
"I'm home and you're nowhere to be found. Where are you?!"
"God, take it easy! You didn't let me finish. I'm at a friend's house." Klaus raised an inquiring eyebrow, smiling and barely holding back a laugh. You punched him lightly in the chest, making him chuckle louder.
"Is it a male laugh? Who are you with? What friend is this?"
"This is Bob! You know Bob from my English class. We were writing an essay together. I told you about him, didn't I?"
"Just go back home. We need to talk." you hung up, staring furiously at the man below you.
"I asked you!" you screamed, hitting the hybrid with your pillow as he burst out laughing at you.
"I'm sorry, love. But you're a terrible liar."
"Well, I'm good enough for Elena to believe me. You should be glad. You won't have a group of angry vampires storming your house." you said, throwing the pillow back into place and laying down next to Klaus again. You could have stolen a few more moments with him before returning to that circus known as your home.
"Love, you know very well that they wouldn't have the slightest chance against me." he bragged, giving you a flick on your nose which made you giggle.
"Yes, yes. You are a stunningly handsome, powerful hybrid that everyone trembles before in fear."
"I know it perfectly well, but you don't know how wonderful it is to hear it from your lips." he murmured, pulling you to him by your chin for another kiss.
"Nik. I have to go home, you've heard by yourself."
"Stay a little longer." he murmured as he kissed the way along your neck and shoulder. "I'll find you an excuse."
"You kidnapped me last week. They won't fall for it for the 5th time."
"That's what you said the last time. And guess what..." he murmured, biting into the sensitive spot under your ear.
Before you got lost in each other again, you pushed him away, straddling him. He didn't care at all, continuing to kiss every inch of your exposed skin.
"I'll come to you in the morning before you're even up. Maybe I'll even skip my class."
"I hold you to your word." he murmured, sucking on a hickey just below your collarbone. You groaned, grabbing his blonde curls. "Now run away. If you're late tomorrow, I'll come get you myself, love."
"I hold you to your word, the mighty hybrid."
~•♤♤♤•~
"Elena, I'm home!" you shouted as you stepped over the threshold. You set your bag down by the entrance, looking around the house for any sign of your sister. "It would be nice if you would answer since you've already brought me here."
You went to the kitchen and poured yourself a glass of juice. Out of the corner of your eye, you saw a note stuck to the fridge.
I went away with Damon for the weekend, Jeremy is staying with a friend tonight. Don't do any parties. Elena.
A whole house to yourself for the night? That could only mean one thing. You took your phone out of your pocket, smiling to yourself.
"Klaus? What are you doing tonight?"
~•♤♤♤•~
"No! Don't even tell me that you did it!" you laughed with the hybrid as he told you about one of his feuds with famous people.
You really wanted to see him throw an apple at Einstein.
"You know me, love. I'm not famous for my angelic patience."
"You are not famous for anything angelic at all."
"We're very brave today, aren't we? You know that teasing the original hybrid is not a good idea." he murmured, cupping my cheek with his hand and caressing my lips with his thumb. "First, you ran away from me sooner than I wanted, and then you told me to come here as fast as I could."
'Aren't you happy to be here?" you asked, putting your hands on his shoulders and playing with his hair.
"I am…" he pulled you to his chest, wrapping his arms around your waist. "But I'm not yet your boyfriend, who you could boss around."
"Yet?" you asked teasingly, raising an eyebrow.
"Yhm... yet." he murmured, catching your lips in a greedy kiss.
You moaned at the familiar, wonderful feeling of his soft lips on yours. You grabbed his necklace and dragged him into the living room with you.
With your wonderful grace, instead of sitting with him on the couch, you tripped over the coffee table. You groaned in pain, breaking the kiss and grabbing your sore leg. You would have fallen if not for your lover's strong arms.
"Fuck." you groaned, knowing full well that soon you'd have a new bruise to add to your collection.
"My clumsy little human. Come here, let me look at your terrible wound." he knelt down in front of you with a smirk, rolling up your trouser leg with unusual delicacy for him.
"Hey! This little human is capable of bringing the most powerful vampire on earth to his knees before her. Don't you dare underestimate me."
"Never, love." he murmured, before putting his lips to the spot you hit, making you shiver as soon as his plump lips made contact with your skin.
"I can kiss it better, but we both know that my blood is more effective."
"No! Only humans ways." you screamed in a panic. Klaus' wounded face quickly made you feel remorse for your sudden outburst. It wasn't his fault that you didn't want anything to do with the supernatural, and you certainly didn't want to take the risk of having vampire blood in your system. Typically, such a person ended up dead, waiting for his transformation. Even though your lover and boyfriend were vampires, eternity wasn't for you. "But it would be great if you took me to my bedroom."
"I don't think you're so hurt that you can't move on your own, love." he said with an amused smirk.
"That's because you've been invulnerable for a thousand years. You don't even know what a life-threatening condition I'm in right now. The only cure is my comfortable bed and your warm arms around me."
"Well, then I have to make sure my favorite human survives." he took you in his arms, laughing at how quickly you wrapped your hands around him.
With the skill of stealth practiced over months, he went straight to your room. Even knowing that no one but you is at home. It's just that both of you are used to hiding from the eyes of your friends and his family by now.
From the scowl on Klaus' face as soon as you entered the room, you could tell he looked again at the photo (of you and Stefan kissing) on your nightstand that he hated.
"You should burn it." he grunted, setting you down on the bed and standing tense in front of you, obviously not going to join you.
"It's a picture of me and my boyfriend. If he suddenly disappears, Elena and gang might get suspicious."
"Next time Kol and I fight them in here, I'll make sure it lands in the fireplace."
"Mr. Mikaelson... are you jealous?" you asked with a mischievous smirk, pulling him to you so that he was straddling you.
"No." he murmured as he kissed you and knocked the photo frame onto the carpet with one hand. "We both know who you really belong to. And one day, when you pluck up the courage to drop our ripper... I'd be happy to tell him what I've been doing with his sweet, tempting, resourceful girlfriend." he bit your neck, making you moan as he grabbed his shoulders. "And believe me, love, I'll tell him about all the beautiful sounds you made for me."
"Nik..." you moaned, grabbed his hair, and pulled him into another desperate kiss.
Too lost in each other's touch, lips, and scent, you didn't notice that someone had entered the house until your room door opened.
"Y/N you can't even imagine what Damon did. Y/N?!" your sister screamed as soon as she saw you making out with her worst enemy. "What are you doing?! And with him?! You're dating Stefan!"
"You want me to leave you two alone?" he asked, not bothering with the angry brunette. He watched you with obvious concern in his blue eyes as you tried to control your horror at the romance being wasted.
And by whom! Months of careful hiding, only to be discovered by Elena.
"Yes! Get out of here, Klaus!" your sister screamed, trying to push him out of the room, to which the hybrid didn't react at all. He just stared at you, waiting patiently for your response.
"It's okay. You can go. I'll call you later." you assured him with a gentle smile. Klaus stared at you unconvinced for a moment, but finally nodded and left, not forgetting to kiss you on the forehead and shoot Elena a murderous glare.
You sighed as the hybrid left the room. You knew you could feel completely safe with him when you were alone. But with the equally furious (and impetuous) Elena in the same room? Hell would break loose. And you doubted your sister would be lucky enough to survive this time.
"What the hell was that?! Do you have any idea what you're even doing?! YOU'RE CHEATING ON STEFAN! And with who?! The original who nearly killed me and Jenna!"
"Are you finished? Close the door behind you, you're making a draft."
"Is that what you meant? Were you trying to make me mad by making out with him in our house? You could at least spare Stefan the embarrassment and break up with him before you fucked Klaus like a whore."
"Really? Are you trying to make this about yourself? God, you're more fucked up than me, Elena. At least I don't put myself at the center of the damn universe."
"You're cheating on Stefan, you really don't see that as a problem Y/N?!"
"Well, you and Caroline have been drooling over him ever since he got here. He'll probably find comfort in either of you pretty quickly. I doubt he's particularly grieving for me." you tried your best to lie to Elena, but the truth was, you were afraid of Stefan's reaction.
Lately, Salvatore has been flooding you with various date propositions, texts, and phone calls. At one point, Klaus threw your phone out the window because you couldn't focus on him. He got a huge, angry lecture from you, and from then on, he allowed you a short text to dismiss your boyfriend while you were with a hybrid. But you knew you couldn't hide the truth any longer. It hadn't been fair to him from the very beginning of this secret, forbidden affair with Klaus.
"You know what. I'm sick of you, Y/N. Get out of here."
"What?"
"Get out of here. Maybe Klaus will take you in. Honestly? I don't care. You don't deserve an ounce of attention. Not after what you've done."
You gave her an incredulous look. You shook your head in amusement, laughing as you passed a very serious and pissed off brunette.
You didn't want to make your sister (and yourself) any more angry. So without saying a word, you just took your car keys, wallet, and phone and left the house.
You dialed Klaus' number in the car. You patiently waited for him to pick up as you drove out of downtown Mystic Falls and headed towards his mansion. You were hoping he'd put you up for the night until you found a way out of this sick situation.
You knew that your cheating on Stefan with Klaus was a huge blow to the younger Salvatore, something he didn't deserve at all, but Elena overreacted by kicking you out of the house. It was just between you and Stefan (and maybe also Nik). Your sister had no right to make such a drama linking your falling in love with Klaus to wanting to throw her off balance. It wasn't your fault that most of the hot guys wanted to kill her.
"Hello, love. Is everything okay? You looked quite terrified when I left. Are you sure that you don't want me to come to you? I can always get in by a window..."
"No. Actually, I'm on my way to your house. Will you have any free beds for me?"
"We both know that my bed is the most comfortable and sufficient for the two of us, love."
You were about to say something funny to his taunt, but suddenly something jumped out in front of your car. You screamed, trying to swerve and avoid the thing, but you ran straight into a tree. After that, there was only darkness.
~•♤♤♤•~
The first thing you felt when he regained consciousness was blood slowly trickling down the side of your head. You groaned, pressing your hand to the bleeding wound.
Surprisingly, the first thing that popped into your mind after the accident was not to check your health. You were worried that Klaus panicked upon hearing you hit a tree over the phone, probably smashing your car. You could only think about Klaus... at least before you noticed you were still in the car.
"Finally you woke up. I was afraid you crashed into that tree so hard that you died before I planned it." your head shot towards the driver's seat, where your boyfriend's voice was coming from. You groaned as you made a sudden move.
"Stefan?" you asked in surprise as your eyes widened. Wait... dead? He wants my death? You looked around in panic, realizing that the vampire had tied you to the chair.
"Did you forget about me? I heard from Elena that you found yourself a new boyfriend. Klaus, really? I didn't expect you to stoop so low."
"Well, I couldn't go any lower after dating you anyway." you said, coughing up blood.
"I gave you some of my blood so our fun wouldn't end too soon. I also invited Klaus. He'll be sitting in the front row, watching you slowly die, suffocating underwater." the speedometer showed 180 km/h. And Stefan was just accelerating. Your heart beat faster in panic as you tried to find a way out of this situation. Preferable one that doesn't include your drowning.
He must have switched off his humanity the moment Elena gave him the fucking good news. That's why you were afraid to tell Stefan about it. You didn't want his "dark side" to go outside to play. And now you were paying a fair price for your many lies. You were just fucking hoping that Elena would feel a hell of a lot of guilt when you died.
"Stefan. Listen. I know I cheated on you and did the worst possible thing to you by hiding in corners with Klaus and still giving you hope. I should have broken up with you the moment things started happening between me and Klaus, but I didn't. And no apologies from me can make up for that, and you have every right to be mad at me, angry, crazy. But if you kill me now, you'll never forgive yourself. You know I'm not going to become a vampire; I'm going to die the moment this car goes down in the water. Are you ready to have one more innocent soul on your conscience, ripper?" you asked in a broken voice, fearing for your life. It wasn't supposed to end like this.
"That's the thing, Y/N. I don't care anymore."
Out of the corner of your eye, you saw us drive onto that famous bridge, where he saved your and your sister's lives. How ironic that your life was to end in exactly the same place and by the same man who had saved it there earlier.
You closed your eyes, preparing yourself to fall, when suddenly Stefan stopped the car. You opened your eyes, sighing in relief.
Nik.
Klaus came to save you.
"This is probably the moment you should run away while you still have your head on your shoulders!"
Stefan pulled you out of the car by your hair, his hand on your back dangerously close to your heart. He stopped a few steps in front of Klaus, who looked surprisingly calm for him. At least for someone who doesn't know him. You could see fear and anxiety in his eyes, the way he gently clenched his jaw, and the stance he assumed.
"I think this time I'm the one with the advantage." you groaned in pain as he dug his hand into your side. You felt blood start to trickle from your new wound, staining your already bloody and torn shirt. The hybrid wanted to move, but suddenly ran into some invisible barrier. Bonnie must have cast a spell on him. Klaus growled a warning as Stefan's fangs were dangerously close to your neck. "One wrong move, and I'll do my ripper trick on your new toy, Klaus."
"Let her go. It's me you hate. You want revenge on me, not on her."
"You both deserve to be punished. Whatever I do with her, I'll get revenge on you in the process. You care so much about her, Klaus? A weak man who wants to live a gray, boring life? You'd get bored with her eventually. Actually, I'm giving you a beautiful gift. With her death, she will become a vampire. All you'll have to do to transform her is to pour blood down her throat. And believe me, Y/N, your lovely Klaus will rather make you end the transition than let you die."
You couldn't cry. You promised yourself that your fast heartbeat and trembling would be the only signs of fear that Stefan would notice.
"If you don't let her go now, I'll kill everyone and everything…" you didn't hear the rest as your neck was broken like a twig under Stefan's hands. And your body fell to the ground with Klaus' loud scream.
~•♤♤♤•~
Coming back to life after death should be a dramatic, suspenseful, and overall poignant moment. In your case, it was like waking up after a very long nap (probably after some big party, judging from your headache).
"Y/N!" Klaus' worried gasp reached your ears the moment you moved slightly.
You groaned as the light from the bedside lamp in his room illuminated you. Klaus' bedroom. He had to move you here after Stefan broke your neck. Salavtore broke your neck. You must be in a transition process.
"Nik?"
"I'm here, love. I'm not going anywhere. You're safe. My siblings are chasing the Salvatores and their gang all over town. I'll make sure none of them ever hurt you again." he murmured, kissing your forehead and pulling you closer to him. "I swear to you, you'll never have to be afraid of anyone again."
"Niklaus." somehow you managed to break free from the clingy hybrid's arms and sit on his bed. You clutched your head as the world around you began to spin. Klaus' warm hand cupped yours, anchoring you. After a while, everything stopped. It was just you, breathing heavily with a very worried 1000-year-old vampire by your side. "I can't stay with you. I... I can't be a vampire." you whispered as tears began to fill your eyes and all the stress from tonight began to turn into a terrifying panic.
"Love..." his pained look only intensified your despair and tears.
"No. Nik I-I can't live forever. I can't feed on the blood of innocent people... I... I don't want to die." you clung to him, crying into his chest like a little child.
You felt one of his hands wrap around your waist, placing you on his lap, and the other soothingly combing your hair.
"Shhh.. you don't have to be afraid, love. I'll be there for you, whatever you decide—even if these are your last hours. I'm not going to leave you alone. I don't want to convince you of anything, but if you decide that forever doesn't seem like such a bad idea, just know that I'll make sure you're not going through this on your own. I will help you control hunger, deal with overwhelming emotions. I can even steal blood from hospitals, hunt squirrels, or give you my own." you burst out laughing, imagining him running around the woods looking for squirrels. Klaus smiled at your laugh. He wiped the tears from your cheek with his thumb, looking at your tear-stained, snotty, and reddened face with great tenderness. "Being a vampire doesn't have to be so terrible. You have the whole world in front of you. And with me by your side? I'll make sure that you enjoy every second of your eternity. Only if you want it."
"What if I turn out to be a ripper like Stefan? Or my character will change completely, and you won't want me anymore? What if my darkness dominates and destroys my humanity?"
"I'll always love you, Y/N. Nothing can change that. If you end transition, I'll keep an eye on you. I won't let any of the things you're worried about happen. You have my word. You're everything that matters to me." you decided not to bring up the fact that he had just confessed his true feelings to you for now and instead buried your head between his neck and shoulder.
"Don't say that line. I only associate it with Elijah." you whispered with a smile, inhaling his scent, which brought you calm and safety.
"I could have predicted you'd focus solely on that sentence." he snorted indignantly, placing a kiss on your temple.
You sat there in silence for a while, hugging each other and soaking up each other's warmth. Klaus was drawing patterns on the exposed skin of your arm. Only now did you notice that he had changed you into his clothes. A strange feeling flooded your chest, warming your already flushed cheeks.
A persistent thought in the back of your mind snapped you out of this sweet moment between you two. You could have it forever. His arms around you. His lips on yours. His whispers in your ear. It could all be yours for eternity.
And maybe you didn't want to be a vampire. Maybe you wanted to live a normal life before, with your family, children, husband, boring job, and terrible boss. But now that Klaus has offered his eternal protection and affection?
You were too covetous to let him go. Too greedy for his affection and devotion to follow your beliefs. And so you have (willingly) gone against yourself since the beginning of this relationship. So what bad could happen this time? At least you'd be still alive.
"Okay." his intent gaze moved from your skin to your eyes, raising an eyebrow questioningly. "You've stuck with me. I'm gonna feed."
"Are you sure, Y/N?" he turned you around in his arms so that he could look at your face, searching for even an ounce of hesitation and uncertainty.
"Yes. After all, someone has to make sure you don't kill them all before they get what they're due. You are not famous for your patience."
"We will punish them. Together." he said, handing you the already prepared bag of blood from his nightstand. 0 Rh-. His favourite. You felt the hunger overwhelm you.
"Together." you agreed, taking the sack and groaning while sucking on all its contents. Klaus interrupted you from time to time, wanting you to slow down.
As you pulled away, Klaus took the empty bag from your hands, throwing it behind him. He gently stroked your cheek with his thumb, watching with fascination the changes slowly taking place in you. He couldn't wait to introduce you to his world.
"For always and forever." he murmured as he slid the daylight ring on your finger. You smiled as you saw the initials of your name and his surname carved into the lapis lazuli stone.
The son of a bitch must have been prepared for this a long time ago.
"For awlays and forever." you promised, sealing your fate by placing a fervent kiss on his lips.
From then on, you were a proud member of the Mikaelson family. And honestly? You haven't regretted your decision for even one second.
Certainly not when you both took your revenge. Or when Klaus proposed to you the right way. Or when you got married. Not for a brief moment of your eternity together.

the most interesting character detail about maeve through which i have extrapolated at least half my understanding of her is that she prefers to be called maeve. i frequently see "maggie" pop up in meta and fic as her chosen name, but quite literally nobody calls her that, including (and most significantly) elena. elena is maeve's tether to her humanity and her refuge away from vought, yet even elena only ever refers to her as maeve. (and in season 2, we learn that maeve started dating elena before she joined the seven -- before queen maeve's popularity would have become so inescapable that she would feel compelled to introduce herself by that name.) it's especially notable that in her final scene, maeve refers to starlight as annie for only the second time, but she is still called maeve by both annie and elena.
here's what we know about maeve's life as maggie: she had a rocky relationship with her father whom she doesn't seem to speak to anymore, she's from a "cousin-fucker hick town" as described by homelander -- i can't imagine this place being terribly lgbt-friendly, and she generally lacks connection with anyone she would have known before becoming queen maeve. she doesn't have fond memories of this time of her life, and perhaps that extends to all associations with it, including the name maggie.
i tend to think that becoming queen maeve was, in many ways, self-actualizing for her. the act that garners her national attention and earns her a ticket to vought is a heroic one -- she breaks every single bone in her right arm to save a school bus from falling off a bridge. and i know madelyn says she is responsible for the mythos of queen maeve, but this character was still aspirational, and likely someone maeve wanted to live up to. in any case, this new identity gave her a purpose and tools to achieve it: she wanted to help people! by her own admission, maeve enters vought bright-eyed and hopeful, not far off from annie. (maeve is also one of the only supes in the seven not to know about compound v -- she doesn't strike me as religious but believing she's among the very few born with powers would have strengthened her internal drive to be a hero.)
it's for the same reason that i think maeve actually... liked having powers? of course she says otherwise in her last season, but season 3 maeve is cynical and weary from about two decades of dealing with vought and homelander's abuse. they've used her first as the token woman and then the token gay person of the seven. after growing largely passive to the brutality of the job, the flight 37 incident forces her to confront all of the violence she's witnessed and tolerated. she's given pieces of herself away and she loathes the husk of herself that's left. i don't find it surprising that she would want to relinquish every single connection to vought, including her powers.
assuring herself that she will be better off without her powers comes with an added benefit: she gets to distinguish herself from homelander, who would be lost without his powers. and i think she is eager to make this distinction in her mind because there are some uncomfortable similarities between their initiations into vought. the mantle of homelander allows him to exert agency for the first time in his life, just as the mantle of queen maeve endows her with purpose for the first time in hers. (crucially, none of his current circle call him john, either.) they both enjoy being the most powerful superheroes in the world, the unending public adoration, and (in my interpretation) each other. they're also both overwhelmingly lonely and they know it -- homelander teases her multiple times about how she has no friends with a bit more bite in every passing season, while maeve is keenly aware of his isolation and exploits his yearning for love pretty effectively.
maeve steadily grows disillusioned with her position at vought because she still has a moral code, suppressed though it may be. even so, she nearly relents to homelander's vision: that they will be lonely at the top but lonely together. she's pulled out of her miserable state of inaction by annie and elena. annie reminds her of what a hero should be (what she was, once); elena offers her a way out of vought, serving as maeve's light at the end of the tunnel, so to speak.
she escapes that tower as maeve, not maggie. she rejects homelander's god complex which engenders his cruelty towards regular people and 'lesser' supes -- no one will call her queen maeve ever again, at least -- but it is still important to her to be a hero, and for better or for worse, she found that as maeve. i feel like she'd struggle to exist without her powers (possibly the self-awareness hasn't settled in yet) for all the reasons mentioned above. i like to think that eventually, she'll circle around to helping people and resisting vought however possible -- albeit on a smaller, more covert scale so she can continue living a peaceful life with elena.

Writers and audience impact
I hate hate hate when the writers/ producers/ directors wait for the audience's reaction to see if they should push a pairing in or not.
Like wtf? By the time they get our reaction, we have already been fed a story. And some of us will have loved it and others hated it but it was the story they created. Changing the pairing later based on the fandoms is so f* stupid.
I have stopped watching countless of tv shows because of this.
Examples: Vampire diaries. I really liked it at that time of my life. And I liked Stefan and Elena. They were a bit too lovey-dovey and boring? Yes, but I liked them. The story was about them. The books too. But because Damon was more handsome and sexier and had, according to the audience, better chemistry with Elena, they decided to give what the audience preferred, going against the original book.
The 100 is an odd example. Everyone loved Bellamy and Clarke, they are also the romantic pairing in the book. But the tv show created such a deep profound connection between them that was better than the book. It was an enemies-to-lovers trope developed to perfection. But what did they do? They destroyed it in what seems to be a clear defiance of what the public loved and the book. It made no sense at all. I stopped watching when I realized it was going in that direction and decided to wait for the finale. And I'm so glad I did. Horrible thing. I hate even the memory of having loved it.
Another example. Never have I ever. Yes, Paxton was the hot boy that we should begin to hate at some point in a very cliché fashion. And Ben is the rival that will become a friend and then a lover. All good. But then they developed Paxton and Paxton was ten thousand times better than Ben. And by the end of season 1 and particularly season 2, I was sure Team Paxton had won. But I was wrong. There comes the shift. For 2 seasons I loved Devi and Paxton but then all that development and fairytale-like ending is put into the garbage and I am supposed to pretend it never happened because now the main pairing is Ben and Devi. I did not watch season 3 and season 4. To me, it ended in season 2 and what an amazing ending it was.
So yes, I was afraid that House of the Dragon would be the same. They created a story between Daemon and Rhaenyra in season 2 that was special and magical in a very hauntingly gothic fashion. It was perfection, the chemistry, the between-the-lines feelings, the desire, the attraction, the frustration. My god, we could feel it all. And every episode was so exciting because of that. People loved it, not everyone, but most people loved it. People were in love with Daemyra and with Daemon and with Matt Smith. There were hundreds of videos on youtube, pages on the internet talking about it, it was everywhere. It couldn't have been more successful. But the writers somehow, despite creating such a beautiful thing, were surprised that the public loved it so much. So they came out saying: you're seeing it wrong. Daemon is mean, evil, selfish and cruel and you need to see that. So they create a season 2 to make us hate daemon, to make us fall out of love with Daemyra. Yet they were fearful of pushing it too far so they still gave us a happy ending to keep us satisfied. But are they waiting to see if we have given up on Daemyra and would be more open to other pairings that they wish to introduce? I want to believe they won't do it, but do I trust it 100%? Of course not. Similarly, they are giving contrary information about Helaemond to see how we react and if they can push it or move away from it in season 3. I also think they didn't make Rhaena claim sheepstealer to see how fans would react to the potential elimination of Nettles. And I hate that they do it! Just be consistent, for god's sake! Write the damn story as you did before knowing how the public would react but be consistent with what you started.

My Opinions Of TVDU In 2024
(They really haven't changed all that much but I feel like sharing)
–I loveeee Delena. Yep, I love this ship with all my heart and I'm not afraid to say it.
–I loveee Damon, probably another problematic opinion but I don't care.
–I don't like Caroline. There, I said it. She is just the kind of person that would irritate the shit out of me. Honestly, until season 8 I couldn't handle her scenes.
–Bonenzo is the best. Loveee it. They deserved better and I personally want to stab Julie Plec for how they ended.
–Bonnie deserved better. This is an universal truth.
–I hate Tyler, but I recognise that he was right to hate Klaus and right to be mad at Caroline for sleeping with him. Revenge on Klaus was kind of dumb, but understandable. He was right to want him dead.
–Klaus is my beloved, always going to be and I'm not even sorry.
–Marcel is a Mikaelson!!! Marcel is Klaus's son and his treatment is another reason for me to feel murderous to the writers of the shows.
–I don't like Kol. Yeah, he was right in many things, but he came across as somehow self-righteous and believed himself better than his family. Like bro, you aren't.
–Finn deserved better. I honestly still wonder if Finn knew about Klaus's real father, 'cause if he did Klaus would have a valid reason to hate him. I am saying this because in The Originals season 2 episode 3 we have flashbacks of young Klaus and the necklace Esther gave him. If I remember correctly Finn was always in the background and even retrieved the necklace when Klaus lost it. Given that Finn remembered Freya and what happened to her, it wouldn't be far fetched to think he knew who Klaus's real father was and hid it as well. That being said, he is a victim of his parents as well and deserved better.
–I hate Elijah. He just gives me the wrong vibes.
–Marcel and Rebekah made sense and I ship it. The Mikaelson family is insane with their romantic relationships, so they just sort of clicked.
–Kol should have taken the cure instead of Rebekah. Bekah could just adopt, but what is going to happen with Kol when Davina dies? Nothing good. Plus, he loved being a witch.
–Hayley and Klaus and Klaus and Cami made way more sense than Haylijah and Klaroline. Honestly and throuple with Klaus and the two women who call him out on his shit the most would have been chef kiss. Hope deserved two moms.
–Every Klaus ship made more sense than Caroline. Bonnie? Bennett witch and he likes witches. Aurora? First female vampire (other than Bex) and met him when he wasn't as he is now. Elena? Has Tatia's face, and I think if Klaus just tried to befriend her and explain why he needed to break his curse she would've helped. Camille? Her mind, she clocked him the moment they met, not to mention the O'Connell legacy. Genevieve? Powerful Witch. Hayley? Baby mama, werewolf princess and hybrid, not to mention they are similar. Stefan? The ripper days gave off fruity vibes. Damon? I love their scenes together, they have a similar vibe to them. Rebekah? He is literally killing her boyfriends left and right. Elijah? The codependency is strong here, Elijah's girlfriends have a higher mortality rate than Rebekah's boyfriends. Katherine? Tatia's face, also they are similar. Greta? Their few interactions in season 2 pointed to a thing going on.
–Elena is overhated. Baby has the biggest survivor's guilt in the universe and still she soldiers on. I hate when people said she was less compassionate as a vampire, I honestly thought she was the same. Like, she controls her hunger to become a doctor. She is too good for this world.
–Enzo should have been introduced sooner, Bonnie and him should have gotten together sooner.
–They should have explored Damon's trauma with Augustine more, and the fact that he always disregards his emotions.
–Klaus wolf side should have been explored!!!
–Unpopular opinion, but not everything Katherine did was necessary for her to survive. She could have easily contented herself with one Salvatore brother, but she had to go after both.
–Davina and Klaus needed more scenes together. I mean, that's her adoptive grandpa!
–Lily was awful, Damon was in his rights to not forgive her.
–I liked Valerie, and I liked her with Stefan.
–They should have explained more about Klaus ability to have children, 'cause that was weird. I loved it, but weird.
–Alaric should have died and the twins should have been raised by someone else.
–Matt lived too long.
–Jeremy and Damon were kind of funny.
–Bamon was really great.
–They should have addressed the fact that growing up Damon was the only one there for Stefan. We saw that in the flashbacks but they should have said it more.
–Damon purpose in life was to live for those he loved. My take on him.
–Damon was pretty humanity-full vampire until after Augustine when he turned off his humanity. But, five years of torture in the hands of humans would do that to a guy.
–The witches opinion on vampires were ridiculous. This species has been around for over a millennium, they are pretty assimilated in the magic ecosystem. I think their extinction would actually do more damage than their existence.
–Mikael and Esther deserved more pain.
–I think Dahlia only tried to negotiate with Klaus not only because he was Hope's father but because he was the only one who wasn't Mikael's son.
–Vampire/Supernatural politics are actually so interesting.
–Lexi was too hyped. And I don't get what she had against Damon in the forties.
–Legacies doesn't exist.
That's all. For now.

Kat even mentions in this video how close her and Claire was. So it's just down right cruel to utilize that on-screen. Also about her and Paul, them being a trio in season 4 would have been iconic and make that season way less garbage.
Exactly, why try to focus pointless friendships between Rebekah and Caroline or Rebekah and Elena when you already establish that Caroline and Elena didn’t like Rebekah instead of giving us bonbekah moments.
This reminds me of the same thing that happened with Klonnie. Before Joseph was given a love interest on the show him and Kat made it know that they got along well behind the scenes. Kat even talked about how she caught Joseph watching a Klonnie shipping video (making it know that they both were aware that people were shipping their characters together). They both even supported the idea of Klonnie having more scenes together. Then all of a sudden Joseph is being paired with Candice for klaroline when their characters had no interactions. It’s funny bc even tho klaroline became a pair Joseph still publicly vouched for Klonnie.
It’s like the writers purposely pushed Kat away from any well loved characters to sideline Bonnie/Kat even more than they already did in and outside the show. Like a big slap in the face; I don’t respect or like you so I’ll make your character suffer as well.
The same thing happened with Paul bc in season one Bonnie and Stefan had so many good scenes together and people would ship Bonnie and Stefan given Paul and Kat’s Chemistry. Then suddenly Caroline and Stefan are getting more screen time together and are now besties even tho Stefan barely acknowledged Caroline in season 1 nor cared for her. Bonnie was the one he would go out of his way to be friends with and care for. Stans always use that time Kat said she couldn’t focus around Paul bc they would laugh and joke around as a way to explain why Bonnie and Stefan began to have less screen time together but I think it’s simply bc the writers didn’t want Bonnie having any shine. Especially with the main character who are the viewers loved.
When it comes to Bonnie, Stefan and Rebekah being a trio I can see it. To go deeper since season 4 Bonnie was “dark” and was obviously struggling dealing with Shane’s/Silas’s mind manipulation, understanding expression and balancing family issues with her mother and father being around Stefan and Rebekah being friends to her would of been fresh and nice to see. Especially when Bonnie already seen the dark side of Stefan (ripper side) and in season 3 Bonnie work with a dark side of Stefan (no humanity) it would of been cool if the writers make Bonnie a source of light, hope or peace for Stefan at that time he was going through things then turn around in do the same with Stefan for Bonnie. Then adding in Rebekah as a fresh face bringing in her good vibes would have been fun as well. Imagine Rebekah taking 2 of the most serious and reserved characters in the show loosing them up and having a good time. That would of been good to see. And since both Stefan and Rebekah both knew Bonnie’s ancestors (Ayana and Grams) them sitting around, chillin and telling Bonnie stories about their time with her ancestors would have been such sweet moments for Bonnie. Especially since she was going through her dark time and rarely got any Intel on her ancestors.
The amazing storylines that could of came from Bonnie were endless. It annoyed me so make hearing that the writers excuse for not writing Bonnie better was them just not knowing what to do with her when it was obvious that they could but didn’t want to. You claim you don’t know what to do with Bonnie or how to write her but when you need a quick fix Bonnie’s there for you. They would even add onto Bonnie’s family dynamics to push forward other storylines while making it have no true connection back to Bonnie nor caring how it affected her negatively. So when you need to push the plot all of a sudden you know how to write for Bonnie but when it comes to caring for Bonnie’s character in general then it’s “oh we don’t know what to do”.
Seems fishy to me. 🤔

new to this ship but can you point out moments in canon that shows the potential? i like it but i don’t know where Klaus and Bonnie ever interacted. it seems random to ship
It is not random to ship. It just wasn’t as serviced as Klaus other ships same for Bonnie and her ships. They may not have interacted often but context counts.
Klaus was introduced with an obsession with witches. Joseph and Kat did make remarks about Klonnie and things they’d do to get people to notice it. Joseph referenced Klaus love for witches here and here. In canon Greta Martin left her family to work with Klaus. This doesnot mean that is the kind of relationship Klaus and Bonnie could’ve had. Just showing that Greta was okay where she was. Maddox was another loyal witch. Then we have Gloria from season 3 who Klaus respected and went to for help. She was over 100 years old and even Klaus referenced as powerful.
Shared bloodline connection. Ayana mentored Esther. Ayana was around during the Mikaelson’s human life. It is Ayana who the Mikaelsons took Henrik too after he was killed. Esther until TO’s Esther praised the Bennett’s often in season 3. It is Abby who put Mikael down, that is only half the reason for abandoning Bonnie. Esther also praised Bonnie for being the witch that fought Klaus. Keep in mind it is Elijah who recruited Bonnie to help take down Klaus even if he betrayed her.
Unlike the other women or characters Bonnie has never been afraid of Klaus. She’s fought him once, and then again both times fearlessly. Klaus believed Bonnie was dead, this little-witch who was just starting outsmarted the big and bad hybrid. Then there’s here where she again isn’t afraid of him no matter how much he tries. Bonnie isn’t someone Klaus can control unlike the other characters. The only way he really controls Bonnie is through her friends and it still doesn’t deteriorate Bonnie as a person or last long. She never falters. You see how she steps over him. She’s a fearless witch-goddess as Elena said. That conviction in how he says witch. Klaus will need Bonnie long before Bonnie ever needs him. Even when he threatens her she never once backs down. Bonnie having moments with her enemies shows so many of her emotions. Another lovely moment is here. Then here where Bonnie dreamed of Klaus in the coffin. Here’s another moment of Bonnie standing off with Tyler!Klaus. In TO Klaus and a Bonnie spoke over the phone.
Klaus and Bonnie were not allowed many moments outside of being enemies. Klaus didn’t invite Bonnie to a ball or gift her fancy gowns, money for graduation or school but they aren’t a random ship. The lore is there, the scenes and potential certainly exist. It just takes the right fans to see that. Bonnie could be valued by someone like Klaus and vice-versa. I have seen arguments that shipping Klonnie is weird, when has it ever been weird to like two characters from the same franchise. If Klaus can have sexual relationships with other witches than Bonnie is to no different. She’s best-friends with Damon and dated a vampire herself.
Hope this helped.

I’ve been thinking about this for a while, but what do you think about Elijah’s reaction to learning that Katherine killed Jeremy? I know a lot people thought that it was odd because Jeremy had just played a part in killing Kol a few episodes before, but I feel like he was more so disappointed in the fact that Katherine hadn’t actually changed.
Tumblr media
His reaction had nothing to do with who she killed and more to do with who she had become.
We don't really get to see how Katherine and Elijah ended up together, but we can see that Elijah is clinging onto the Katerina he lost all of those years ago. I also headcanon he was really hanging onto the memory of Tatia. He was trying to save Katherine and then Elena, the way he failed to save Tatia.
Elijah failed to save Katherine from Klaus and it destroyed her, turning her into a selfish, manipulative person that he didn't know. I assume when they got together, he saw hints of the "Katerina" he remembered which is why he was willing to give her a chance.
Elena: "She's a monster now, Elijah. The sweet peasant girl you fell in love with way back when is dead. And she's not coming back." Elijah: "I'm not a fool, Elena. Of course this possibility occurred to me, but what kind of man would I be if I didn't try to find my Katerina beneath this Katherine façade?"
But as Elijah said, he's not a fool. You know what they say, "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me." At this point, Elijah was willing to believe Katherine, deep down, had a good heart. But watching her do to Elena what Klaus had done to her showed him that the girl he once knew was truly gone. He wasn't willing to give her another chance to make a fool of him.
He felt betrayed because she had lied to him. It wasn't just that she had killed, he can justify that, but the fact that she was lying about it. She was playing him the same way she had played everyone. It would have been completely different if she had told him her plan ahead of time or even right when she came back. But she didn't trust him with her plan and it just reinforced that he didn't really trust her.
Elijah is also able to put logic over emotions. Yes, he was likely angry about Kol's death (although the show didn't spend anytime showing the Mikaelsons actually have reactions to it) he knew starting a war in Mystic Falls wasn't going to solve anything. This is where plot armor comes in because no way would any of these baby vamps and humans have actually walked away after killing Kol and Finn. They all would have been dead before they had the chance to blink, but then TVD would be over. So, instead the plot demands the Mikaelsons to move past it.
It also wouldn't be the first time Elijah has moved on after someone killed one of his loved ones *cough* Klaus *cough*
TVD Elijah was also a lot more practical. He killed very strategically. Similar to TO Season 3, when Hayley is killing Strix members to avenge Jackson, he is not mad at her for killing but shocked that she is doing it so messily, nearly starting a war. He then goes and dispatches them all with a plan. Katherine here didn't let him in on the plan, and we know how much he hates when Klaus does that. I think he saw a lot of Klaus in Katherine in that moment, and lord knows he doesn't need another one.
If Katherine had come back and told him she killed Jeremy because of what Jeremy did to Kol, he would have been fine with it. He would have felt bad for Elena, but at the end of the day, it's not anything different than what Elijah's done for family. Or what the MF gang has done. Again, his issue wasn't about the murder or about Jeremy. It was about the lying that stemmed from a lack of trust. He knew she was still killing people. He wasn't that naïve. He just had hoped she had some line she wouldn't cross. Hoping she had compassion for her ancestor. Hoping that she trusted him enough to protect her.
It's similar to when Celeste comes back in TO Season 1. There's a brief moment of time while he's following her on a tour of New Orleans and he knows it's her, he's willing to give her a chance to explain. He kisses her back and looks so desperate. But then she betrays him (yes, well deserved) and that was the only chance he gave her. Even at the end, when she pleaded with him, he was not going to give her another chance.
Katherine had one chance to show she wasn't the person everyone said she was and without hesitating she did exactly what was expected from her. She wanted the cure to trade for her freedom and there was nothing she wouldn't have done for it. She didn't trust that Elijah would protect her from Klaus (probably wisely) and she didn't trust Elijah with her plans. Without trust, they didn't have much left to fight for in a relationship.
I talk about their relationship more here.
Thanks for the ask!

So glad your back girlie 💕 I’ve been doing a rewatch of season six. We really deserved that Kai - Bonnie - Damon love triangle in that prison world. The BIGGEST mistake was not exploring that option, especially when the writers knew Nina and Steven were leaving after that season.
Tumblr media
Half the season (up until 6x11) should have been spent in the prison world with the trio working together as Kai falls for Bonnie. Then Damon grows jealous and lonely. The three of them struggle to find back home. Kai and Damon get drunk one night and bond over shitty dads and childhood trauma. Bonnie and Kai bond over losing their mothers and magic. Bonnie falls for Kai (throw in that steamy love scene)
Damon gets jealous and doesn’t think Kai is good enough. He and Bonnie fight about her new happiness with Kai. Then he realizes he also grown to have feeling for her. By then they end up doing a road trip to Portland, on the trip Kai figures out Damon likes Bonnie. Then they get into a fight about her. Bonnie is forced to choose between them 👀👀👀
After that Bonkai does the spell to get them all home. And of course Elena and Jeremy are waiting for Damon and Bonnie. Then the second half of the season crazy with misunderstandings, miscommunication, and more steamy love scenes 🫦👅🥵
You are not wrong. One of the biggest miss on TVD was not giving the fans Bonkaimon/Bamonkai. We got Stelena and Delena for 4 seasons. Then we got Maroline/Forwood in season 2. Right after that Forwood and Karoline. Caroline has been in 3 love triangles. Elena and her doppelgangers have all been in love triangles. Yet Bonnie the only other female character on this show and she doesn't even one.
I remember when season six aired those prison world episodes. Fans were excited for some Bonnie love fest, we all thought for sure we were going to get Bonkai with jealous Damon. Like you said, half the season should have been those three in the prison world working together, building sexual tension.
Damon should have at least stayed with Bonnie and Kai until halfway through the season before returning home. IDK why they rushed to bring Damon back home (to Elena) that was boring. Trying to push Delena back together quickly, knowing Nina was leaving at the end of the season was pointless and dumb. Better they had kept Damon in the prison world, like you said and build up that tension between him and Kai as frenemies. Meanwhile Bonnie and Kai slowly fall for each other.
Cue Bonkai perfect love scene:
Tumblr media
At the same time Damon starts to fall for Bonnie while being trapped in the prison world with no blinders on. He's easily more jealous of Kai, and the only other time we see Damon really jealous of anyone is Stefan, because he sees his little brother as real competition. Kai is the only other male character besides Klaus, Damon would see as a threat. So, this makes for a love triangle for sure. We were definitely robbed of a road trip episode too.
Like give us Bonnie, Kai, and Damon in the prison world like this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This would have drawn viewers in for sure. And it would have kept TVD alive and made the show more refreshing without the Original Love Triangle, The Gilberts, and Doppelgangers storylines that were by this point exhausted out.

Thank you @redhoodinternaldialectical for tagging me!
rules: answer and tag nine people you want to get to know better and catch up with.
favourite colour: any shade of purple/lilac/violet/etc. also maroon/burgundy. also deep blues. that whole spectrum xD
last song: I was out partying last night and it was actually some techno song I couldn't name (it was good though), but the last song I actually remember and can tell you is Aloisio's "Flashbacks". Some eye-roll worthy lines but admittedly "Por ti me arrodillo y no te llamas Mary / No eres la muerte pero eres parecida" does things to me.
currently reading: I'm still going through "Burning Your Boats", a compillation of Angela Carter's short stories, and "Olvidado Rey Gudú" by Ana María Matute, both of which I'll finish this month. I also started reading my ARC of "We Will Devour The Night" by Camilla Andrews (aka @aninkwellofnectar) and caught up with the chapters she's posted of part three of the series (The Essence of the Equinox) in her ko-fi \o/
And, as usual, I'm reading through... many comics. I'm actually going to embarrass myself and list them lol. I'm completing some characters' appearances (prime earth!Jason, new earth's Cass, Steph, Talia, Leslie, Mia), almost done Green Arrow '01 and No Man's Land... + I started Devin Grayson's Catwoman's run (A++ so far!), Suicide Squad '87, and The Death of Superman.
Aaaand I'm keeping up with some ongoing runs. Monstress, Saga (IT'S BACK), Robin Lives, The Boy Wonder, Zatanna: Bring Down the House, Batman '89: Echoes, Batman: Dark Age, Batman: Justice Buster, WFA, Batman: Off-World, Ram V's 'Tec, Batman: Gargoyle of Gotham
currently watching: currently I'm on pause (I'm away on vacation) but when I'm back I'll continue watching old DCAU shows and FINALLY watch part 2 of The Glory. And finishing season 7 of stacked100, since I didn't even watch yesterday's episode lol.
currently craving: an hysterectomy.
coffee or tea: teaaaaaaa, always.
hobby to try: writing poetry. Attempts have been made but I want to go for it lol.
current au: "ooooohhh I got a million of these going at all times" <- same lmao. I'm just going to name the few I'm most focused on rn:
Young Justice: FÉNIX. That One Long Idea About Jason Reuniting With Everyone in the YJTV verse. It will include at least one additional (waaaay shorter, thankfully) story.
Damon & Elena, Marriage of Doom. I'm going to get so MEAN about this one <3
Mia & Jason Dollhouse AU!!
Jason Survives ADITF/No Death in the Family. What is says. Long series expanding from immediately post ADITF to the end of new earth añsdlfjasf. In my head, at least. You will see different versions of Knightfall, No Man's Land, Joker: Last Laugh, Murderer?/Fugitive, War Games/UTRH, and so on...
This ~future canon series that takes inspiration from some elements from A Lonely Place of Living and Duke's story but places them in New Earth. It includes a Damibats story with Damian and Colin as recent exes, a Jaytim story, TWO Jason & Duke stories, and another one where Chris Kent parent traps a divorced Clois. For now xD
Amnesiac Jason. Jason has suffered a psych attack and Bruce gets some creative licenses when he "fixes" him :)))
I'm gonna stop there. For all our sakes lol.

So, since Cedric cloned Sofia and that clone was able to talk to animals, that means that Pink Sofia's Amulet isn't just a phony. It's equally as magical as the original Amulet, and blessings and curses work the same.
Wouldn't that mean that Elena (or a copy of her) would've been inside Pink Sofia's Amulet? Since the original Elena granted the blessings and curses to its owner and thus a clone of said owner having the same powers would have the same quasi-magical princess trapped within the Amulet?
And not even that. Cedric flat out kills Pink Sofia by reversing the spell that made her. This spell also neutralizes the "clone Amulet" and by extension, Princess Elena's clone trapped within the Amulet.
Meaning that Cedric did in one episode what Princess Ivy, Shuriki, Fiero, the Delgados, and the other villains in Elena's series couldn't do in 3 seasons. Kill Elena (even if it was a version that wasn't the OG).

... at that point, she had lost her parents, her birthparents AND her guardian. Stefan was the one person who wasn't supposed to leave and yet, just like that, he too was gone. No goodbyes, no explanations, he just disappeared from her life like he had never been a part of it. Then Elena spends months looking for him, and when they're finally reunited, is rejected not just once but multiple times by Stefan. Of course we as viewers know that he has his reason and is miserable over this...
... and rationally, Elena knows it too. I just think it's a waste that the writers never explored the irrational aspect of that dynamic. It would have made sense to me to see Elena question not Stefan's love but his commitment to her. To see her shaken by the knowledge that Stefan turned his emotions back on for Damon and not for her. To see her unable to stop thinking that, ultimately, Stefan picked his brother over her. It would all be irrational feelings of course...... but Elena is only human. And Stefan constantly pushing her away throughout S3 wouldn't have helped that mindset. So yeah it would have made no sense and maybe it would have been unfair but the feeling of betrayal would be real nonetheless and THAT is what would have led Elena to Damon (the wrong choice in every way but still the guy who puts her first no matter what and wouldn't leave her like everyone else)...... Anyway, ending my rant. Just thought it would have been interesting to have SE talk about this at some point during their separation, with Stefan being rightfully angry about DE and Elena snapping that he didn't get to judge her because he picked D over her too and then it would have all been in the open and they would finally get to talk about how Stefan's departure actually impacted Elena. Weird how this show still makes me so frustrated when I think about it too hard 😤"
I see.
A couple of reasons why this doesn't work for me.
1 "[...] at that point, she had lost her parents, her birthparents AND her guardian. Stefan was the one person who wasn't supposed to leave and yet, just like that, he too was gone. No goodbyes, no explanations, he just disappeared from her life like he had never been a part of it [...] So yeah it would have made no sense and maybe it would have been unfair but the feeling of betrayal would be real nonetheless and THAT is what would have led Elena to Damon (the wrong choice in every way but still the guy who puts her first no matter what and wouldn't leave her like everyone else"
So, then, hooking up with Damon who has consistently tried to kill the people left in her life
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
would be plausible? Because he "puts her first"? How? On the one hand, she'll feel betrayed by Stefan because he left her and it triggers feelings of abandonment but on the other hand she'll be drawn to the man she has to constantly placate so he won't kill her friends and family when she already has no parents, no birth parents and no guardian?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
That argument or suggestion or idea will never make sense to me, even with the "it isn't rational" spin.
This part also doesn't work for me. Elena question Stefan
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This Stefan's
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
commitment to her? Watching him do the impossible and fight compulsion for her but feeling a way because he effectively did the same thing for Damon later in 3x09?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I don't see it.
What I love about season 3 is that the tension comes from the fact that Elena is mad that Stefan would ever suggest that she would stop loving him or give up on him because she absolutely understands why he did what he did, that's Stelena
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Elena knows why he pushes her away, knows what he's trying to do
Tumblr media Tumblr media
she sees through him, that is Stelena.
Tumblr media
And she does have complicated feelings throughout season 3, which I get into in the masterlist.
I would be on board with the two of them having an argument about how he just left, her expressing how much that deeply hurt her but for it to create the schism you're suggesting especially for it to lead toward Damon? That doesn't work for me.
If anything, if we were going to do what you suggested, the only way I could see that working is if it led back to Matt who had never left, never tried to kill her friends or family members, who supposedly put her before Caroline, who would eventually say that he's loved her for as long as he could remember
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
that's the only way it works logically for me.
