in all seriousness, one of the biggest throughlines in season two is bringing things to the light. hiding, lying, secrets & shame only bring pain and suffering. things only started to get better when they finally started COMMUNICATING. wille in therapy, simon with his friends, wille and simon together…
something something only in the light you can truly be free
slipping in here to say that update was absolutely insane and i love how they’re developing the xianzhou storyline because holy shit the depth they went into and the links they’re making across multiple small narratives into one huge arc is so thrilling
New episode might soon become one of my favorite statments out of both shows. Jesus. The added insturmentation (wink, wink) in the background was amazing.
Finally got to catching up on the latest part of Blades, and the first thing I will say is blimey. A lot happened in that one.
The Ash Empress is a bit on the scary side. Ripping off her own daughter's arm was absolutely brutal. And then putting Light magic into Valax, which goes into my next point.
It feels like of all the characters being set to achieve Balance magic, the first could actually be Valax! As unfortunate as it was to see her leave the party, it looks like she is questioning things, and I do believe she will return to the party and properly become a part of it.
I was surprised by the revelation of the Watcher being a construct like Valax as he was giving off some red flags, and did until the end.
The tablet mentioning about the barrier needing to be there to stop the realms converging into one, I must admit I'm wondering if that would be a completely bad thing. It would work out better for the Ashen who are in the Shadow realm version of Riverbend (can't remember it's name at this current moment in time)
[image id: a four-page comic. it is titled "immortality” after the poem by clare harner (more popularly known as “do not stand at my grave and weep”). the first page shows paleontologists digging up fossils at a dig. it reads, “do not stand at my grave and weep. i am not there. i do not sleep.” page two features several prehistoric creatures living in the wild. not featured but notable, each have modern descendants: horses, cetaceans, horsetail plants, and crocodilians. it reads, “i am a thousand winds that blow. i am the diamond glints on snow. i am the sunlight on ripened grain. i am the gentle autumn rain.” the third page shows archaeopteryx in the treetops and the skies, then a modern museum-goer reading the placard on a fossil display. it reads, “when you awaken in the morning’s hush, i am the swift uplifting rush, of quiet birds in circled flight. i am the soft stars that shine at night. do not stand at my grave and cry.” the fourth page shows a chicken in a field. it reads, “i am not there. i did not die” / end id]
a comic i made in about 15 hours for my school’s comic anthology. the theme was “evolution”
