i can fully understand the gripes with certain misogynistic tropes/writing issues that are present in the execution of some of cersei’s writing, but i will never understand the “she should have a redemption arc” or “she should be more likeable/less morally dark” perspective. that is not what her character is or has to be to make it great. wanting more female anti-heroes or “redemption arcs” with moral greyness and complexity of the level that asoiaf gives to primarily male characters is entirely understandable, but do some of you people even like cersei as a character, like at its core? like this is not about criticising the execution of certain things when it comes to this character, this is about taking issue with her as a villain fundamentally, which i just do not agree with at all

#i also do not understand why she is juxtaposed only w her brothers #in this respect #like if u wanna take issue w not as many female anti heroes that r allowed the level of true moral greyness of j theon etc i get that #but thats a whole text problem like a family isnt a monolith they r different characters with different drives its not a competition between #them #all three r dealing w some very very diff things too like they r distinct characters #and i honestly dont think cersei’s character set up works with a redemption story like she specifically is way more interesting as she is #she is a discussion of tropes when it comes the ‘female villain’ and u can take issue w the execution but i like the concept a lot #like she is written the way she is for a reason why do u want her to be a different character entirely #like if u want this why not advocate for george making a female character whose story would actually work with the redemption trope instead #of making their writing weaker and less trope busting #ig i just really like with cersei the idea that her being an evil perpetrator doesnt erase her being a victim of misogyny and vice versa #like i like that challenge that she is deserving of sympathy for these things without the need to redeem her or make her ‘likeable’#patriarchal violence will affect all women #and the story deserves to work just as well with someone u r not supposed to root for #its about the humanization of these people #evil doesnt exist in a vacuum #and it makes perfect sense that these specific systemic conditions create it #and then perpetuate it

I think they might be out of print (which. makes sense with the gold foil) so. goodluck and godspeed for finding them secondhand, because it was surprisingly hard to do online.

Season 3 of Psych is making me a lot more emotional in my rewatch than I remember being when I watched it back in 2012

#only three eps into the season but man I can tell now this was when they started to buckle down on truly sincere moments #not that the earlier seasons didn’t have that either but man all three eps in s3 so far #have ended with character building Shawn moments #1) the whole thing about his mom and how it turns out she’s the one who left and it wasn’t Henry #2) him being 100% upfront with Abigail about why he left her that night back in hs (and also setting up the whole thing with Juliet ahdkshd)#and 3) the daredevil episode where he talks to the guy about how his family would want 6 more months with him rather than an insurance check #it’s all insane. and I know that Mr. Yang is coming at the end of this season too. the Psych writers showed UP #psych #white weasel talks

Pretty freaking fantastic!

#There was also the Mistery game by team Danganronpa #and Pikmin 4 #(I still have to play 3...)#Game boy alongside Wario Land & Superstar Saga would have been amazing announcements if it wasn't for the expansion pack #Metroid Prime was cool‚ but I think I will stick to the Wii version #and I'll be honest #I didn't care that much for Zelda TotK #But those three reveals were amazing #Not fully sold on Layton yet #since Azaran Legacy was kind of a let down & Mystery journey was straight up bad #But optimistic non the less #wonder who will dub the professor on Spanish since his voice actor passed away on 2020 due to Covid #R.I.P Jordi Varela #Katamari is one I was expecting to see after the remake of the first one so really nice that it's here #And I was not expecting Ghost Trick to make a come back #Now all that's missing is some Hotel Dusk remake to have the full set of DS detectives on switch #Nintendo Direct #Professor Layton #Professor Layton and the new world of steam #We love katamari #ghost trick phantom detective

[it is not]#this book is very beautiful to look at but a lot of the recipes are somehow both weirdly pretentious and surprisingly unhelpful #'here's the recipe that in-game is made by setting apples on fire :) first take your vanilla sugar--' bro you are doing too much.

If you became super rich and could design your own house, but could only add THREE unnecessary/random/expensive home additions (like how people will have bowling alleys, movie theatres, closets with museums of shoes, car display rooms, spa rooms, wine cellars, etc. in their mansions) - what three would you choose?

#I think I would have: an indoor pool (but like heavily customized with a faux weather system so I could get the feeling of swimming in #rain or fog or snow etc.). a very small arcade consisting only of skee-ball and DDR machines. and an old Library Room with authentic #historical furniture/interior design to store old books/tapestries/study room equipment/whatever other antiques I'd collect. It'd be #like some fully intricate movie set or something that would feel completely like stepping into another world/time.#Though I might would trade out the arcade for a roller skating rink.. i DO love skating....#And I wouldve put rock climbing gym because I love indoor rock climbing but.. as I understand it they have to change out the rock things #on the walls every once in a while so that you can have new routes and it doesnt get boring. and I'd rather have an activty room thats like #self sustaining and doesnt require me to hire some person to come switch things around once every month. Otherwise I would #totally do that instead.#I'm also personally not counting ''craft'' type stuff like having a pottery room kiln sort of thing because #that doesn't count as 'unnessecary' to me. since stuff like that would not at all be just a hobby I 'happen to #do sometimes for fun'#but would definitely be a career sort of thing. Like if I had the money for a fully stocked sculpture room and and a sewing room #with a good machine and etc. then I would literally be professionally selling pottery and designing clothing and etc.#so I wouldn't count it as 'just a random side room I dont need' etc.#The same way that if I played tennis professionally or as a very intense hobby that takes up most of my life/time #then I wouldn't count having a tennis court in your house to practice in as 'unncesscarry' etc.#wow that is the worst I have ever spelt that word ghbjh #Un Cess Carry #ALSO would obviously have an underground bunker of some sort with food and emergency supplies which also does not count as unnecessary to m #since it's literally like... survival.. And I thought most health organizations literally reccomend that even #the common person has a small 'go bag' prepared in their house. and like an evacuation plan in case of fire or other things #It WOULD be an unnecessary rich person thing to have a full on undergRound village or something stocked with 9000 guns and #whaetever. but I think just a basic emergency room with basic supplies could still be counted under the 'not unnecessary' requirement.#Like I would say that a sprawling courtyard of flower gardens and fountains and hedge mazes that takes up like a hundred thousand #dollars a year in maintenance would count as one of the three 'unnecessary and expensive' things. But having a small garden in the #back yard with a few planters in a little greenhouse or whatever would not. The 'excessiveness' of the thing matters lol #ANYWAY!!!#Just curious what other peoples Three Main things would be... hrrmm

I feel like I liked yakuza 5 a lot more than most people for some reason

#like a lot of people seem to not like it or think it’s mid #idk man but it was one of the games I enjoyed most and I really liked the range of characters you get to play #love me a murder mystery too #idk I think people seem to not like how disjointed the plot is at first and trying to keep up with everyone’s seperate plot and characters #and etc. but I personally really liked how it was all disjointed and the further you get into the game / the more characters you play the #more shit starts coming together and forming a full picture #like don’t get me wrong it’s not perfect and I do have qualms with some. choices. (mostly having to do with majima and #mirei) but overall it’s one of the games I’ve enjoyed the most and that’s kept me interested in the plot the most #fantastic to get a more in-depth look at haruka and to get to really know her by playing her and seeing how she interacts with people and #choices she makes and etc. I don’t think she was a fully fleshed out character prior to that #loved her with all my heart already don’t get me wrong but she just didn’t have much time on screen especially as a teenager to fully get #her personality across and some of the issues she deals with (mommy issues. abandonment issues #etc).#and her and uncle akiyama are a very nice unexpected duo!!!#the different settings were fun too. overall I think the whole thing just felt like more of a streamlined story in a way with drastically #different viewpoints depending on the character #also shinada’s a gift. bless him #daigo feels three dimensional and emotionally present in a way I didn’t see much in other games- even when he’s literally a boss in 4. tbh #the only other time I think he feels really solid as a character is in fuckin dead souls. I think it’s cause it’s SO rare to see daigo in #non-serious situations or vulnerable with people on purpose. dead souls has the first thing and y5 has a bit of both #and I could complain more about how y6 SHOULD have made daigo more present instead of sending him to fuckin jail the whole time but. I do #get that that was kind of important to the plot. I mean to have that power vacuum. don’t think all three of them should’ve been put in jail #but I digress. anyway I got off topic point is I enjoyed yakuza 5 it is very unique in my opinion #y5 #rambling #ALL THESE TAGS AND I FORGOT TO MENTION KIRYU BEING ANGSTY AND GAY AS HELL. THE BEST PART OF YAKUZA 5
