Avvolti e stuzzicati dal mix creativo di elementi vintage e arredo esotico, dal riuso originale e decontestualizzato di oggetti e pezzi d' antiquariato.

Lo spazio è quello di un affascinate edificio novecentesco danneggiato durante l' occupazione sovietica della città nel 1956 a seguito della rivoluzione ungherese. Il Bistrò ne ha riarredato le sale, ristrutturandole ma mantenendo alcuni elementi dell' elegante vecchio edificio.

Così un boccone dopo l' altro alla crépe a 3 strati e dal pianoforte appeso sembra suonare una canzone.

Mentre disegno la colonna sonora è quella di Fonó Zenekar, cantautore ungherese. - - - - - - - Breakfast at Tiffany’s? Naaa I prefer that to the "Brody house" bistrò in Budapest.

Wrapped and tasted by the creative mix of vintage elements and exotic furniture, by the original and decontextualized reuse of objects and antiques.

The space is that of a fascinating 20th century building damaged during the soviet occupation of the city in 1956 following the hungarian revolution. Il Bistrò has rearranged the rooms, renovating them but maintaining some elements of the elegant old building.

So one bite after the other to the 3 layers crépe and from the hanging piano seems to play a song.

While I draw the soundtrack is that of Fonó Zenekar, hungarian-songwriter.

She provided technical advice and insights to Robert Moog during the development of the Moog Synthesizer, an instrument that would revolutionize the music landscape. ⁠⁠Her album 'Sonic Seasonings' (1972) is an early example of an ambient record, blending the then-new synth with field recordings to create an entirely new listening experience — years before the term "ambient" was even coined!⁠

Oneohtrix Point Never Live Preview: 4/23, Metro, Chicago

Synth-heads rejoice! Daniel Lopatin, aka experimental music producer Oneohtrix Point Never, brings his always stellar live show to Metro tonight. His most recent album is last year's Again (Warp), a reflective collection of aesthetics you wouldn't normally associate with OPN's spirituous electronica: shoegaze, alt-rock, prog. Then again, Lopatin similarly mashed together otherwise dissonant sub-genres on 2015's Garden of Delete, the nu metal entry in his vast and ever-expanding catalog. Lopatin's versatility is certainly one of the most impressive things about him, not just in his own work, but in his ability to elevate others, whether R&B star The Weeknd (Dawn FM) or indie rock luminary Soccer Mommy (Sometimes, Forever).

Technically, OPN has two new EPs listed this year on streaming services: Scores and Ambients. The former is a collective of songs from Lopatin's soundtracks to Sofia Coppola's The Bling Ring and the two Safdie brothers features he's scored, Good Time and Uncut Gems. The latter consists of six of OPN's more, yes, ambient-adjacent tracks, including the bookends of 2013's monumental R Plus Seven (with a shorter mix of the choral "Chrome Country" renamed "CC"), Again's "Gray Subviolet", the title track to 2018's Love in the Time of Lexapro EP, Replica's "Sleep Dealer", and the minute-and-a-half "Lovegirls Precinct", included on 2009 compilation Rifts but originally released as part of a split cassette with Cleveland drone duo Outer Space. Take the opportunity to listen to the songs anew, together; to my ears, that's always been the best way to experience Oneohtrix Point Never, finding resurfaced commonalities among the different stages of his brilliant career. And it's also how he'll likely play live, finding a cohesive set list by placing Zones Without People and Russian Mind songs next to Age Of and Magic Oneohtrix Point Never material.

Constantine huffed, but didn’t disagree. Bruce could only guess what he was thinking.

“At least, from what Clockwork taught me,” Phantom continued, and that made Constantine snap to attention, “ectoplasm is just kind of… There. Floating around in the background, but at such a low level that it doesn’t usually manifest. But it’s still there, and it functions kind of like radiation: just being around it might cause you to develop liminality.”

“Liminality?” Bruce asked. Phantom shrugged.

“Any side effects you would notice are only caused by high levels of exposure, nothing like this low-level radiation. But, well… Ectoplasm is both attracted to emotions and attracted by emotions. And ectoplasm heightens emotions, too. The fact that the human race has been alive so long, evolved to feel more complex emotions, it’s because the ectoplasm bonded enough with humanity to allow that. Humans achieved sentience because they could feel enough to determine they existed. Without ectoplasm, slowly those emotions will fade. And…” Phantom hesitated.

“…I can’t say that humanity will become nonsentient once again, not for sure. But I can say that you will slowly, generation by generation, lose the feelings you have now.”
