I'm playing Pathfinder for the first time this weekend and this system looks like so much fun

it always pisses me off when people start ghosting me and completely cut me off and think i'm annoying because I didn't ~get the hint~ all because they're too much of a coward to be straightforward and honest with me!!!!

i'll keep asking about a thing or when we are hanging out or try to converse with them, because their response is always excuses and not straight up "no" so how am I supposed to know?! either short responses of 1-5 words that I can't really respond to or things like "I'm busy this weekend/I'm too tired today/I forgot about it/we can try next time/I'll get back to you and le you know" are apparently all hints and lies to hide the truth. what they really mean when they tell me this is "no, stop asking. stop talking to me. I do not want to hang out with you or talk to you anymore"

why can't you just say that?! it will save you the annoyance of me asking you 20 times because i took your words at face value. your excuses sound temporary and you didn't get back to me so maybe you forgot. there are rare times people say these things and it's the truth or they really did forget!!!! when I say it, it's the truth. I also have a bad memory. you can't just suddenly ghost me for that! it's on you if you aren't being honest with me. it's up to you to be straightforward and tell the truth so you don't waste both our time. (what's worse is this is usually one of the first things I tell people when we meet. that I need then to be straightforward and honest. they promise they will but that's also a lie)

ghosting is so cruel (when the other person has no bad intentions/isnt causing harm). more cruel than telling me to my face you hate me and never want to speak again! i actually prefer that, so i at least know and can give up on your useless ass and stop wasting my time. don't give me false hope when i'm really excited to be friends and hang out, don't waste my time and energy and efforts, and don't lead me on with lies only to crush my entire soul when I find the truth much later. just say it and get it over with!!!! it's your fault if I annoy you by "not taking the hint" because there was no hint, lying isn't a hint. spill the truth and don't blame me for it!!!!!!

this is why i've given up with people and now only give attention to the ones who contact me first every time continuously, and I put little effort into anything anymore. I know that will end up making some people give up on me by thinking i dont care. but I'm tired of wasting my time and energy on the people who put no effort into me. you must prove yourself and keep doing it or I won't try at all. the people who ghost me and hurt me are to blame. yes, I live a very lonely existence with maybe one friend I talk to once every week or two for a total of 5 minutes at most. yes I wish I had more connections or closer ones. but i'm SO FUCKING TIRED. i'm tired of trying so much and so hard just for people to shit on my efforts and disrespect my needs and boundaries!!!!!!

why should I keep trying when it always ends bad and adds yet another layer to my trauma.

Hardison doesn't get enough recognition. The amount of energy and creativity he has. He is a fucking Leonardo da Vinci. He builds up their home several times, trying to account for everyone's needs and minding so many details. He builds their fake identities with so much creativity and so much skill, dozens and dozens of them. Whenever he gets given an impossible task like fake an 18th century book in a day, or sculpt beautiful statues, or hack something unhackablw, or or or. And he does it so skillfully. And doesn't get enough praise in my opinion. He maintains hobbies on top of that! He plays the violin masterfully, he knows a lot of technology and tv shows just because he thinks it's cool, he is great at video games amd table top games. And he is cheerful and focuses himself on having joy in his life, in keeping an open heart and caring for people. Most of his childhood crimes were caring for his grandma or doing things for fun and honing his skills. He is incredible. I am so in awe of him.

Imagine. The Chain gets to Sky's era. Wars tells Sun about his sisters (he spills the beans, all of them). They leave Sky's era. However, the portal after that is golden and when they go through they're like 30 minutes away from Wars' childhood home.

Wars tries to go into a different direction? Too bad, Hylia sent a dream to his youngest sister telling her her brother is a guilty sad wet cat and she's getting a delivery next day. So she's like, right next to the Chain in the bushes hiding amd waiting. Even better if she's Wind's or Four's age and recruits Wind to her side.

The rest of the Chain wants to go to meet Wars family too and to get as much blackmail as they can on Wars.

Damn, imagine if all this YT drama was happening when Spot's situation was currently going on too. And, well, since our dimension is fucked and we just seem to jump through dimensions without the watch, what if we end up in Spot's place? (The blank void when he entered one of his own spots).

And, it would be funny to look at him, and for him to look at us and just... stare or wave. He is weird like that, and we are too.

Also, we can start bonding on feeling out of place? Sharing the same experience of everyone leaving us behind/ignoring us. Maybe we can even seek solace in his presence, and in his unique persona (even if he is supposed to be a villain).

And the fact that this is the only place we don't glitch out of? Maybe some bullshit physics as this place literally makes no sense, as well as us. It's like we belong here, with him. He could always teleport us somewhere else, but we look so tired, so pitiful and in so much need of some sort of care... he feels bad for us. And maybe, he can try and convince us to stay with him. After all, he *is* the only one who hasn't turned his back on us, right? He isn't a bad guy like those 'friends' of us were saying!

But bro your mind 😩 you've just been exiled during the YouTwo incident amd you're glitching and, you know, slowly deteoriating over time, and, suddenly, you're in this weird literally nondescript place where you're suddenly... 'balanced out'? You don't feel like you're being pulled in a bunch of different directions anymore, and you look around and it's just some white void with black dots everywhere that you think you can kind of see and hear things out of if you get close enough, but, first and foremost, is that a person? Spot just like. Is staring at you with this very deer in headlights energy and, you both awkwardly wave to each other, "uhhhhhhh... hi?" "...hiiiii, uh, is this 'your place'? Thank you so much, dude, I've been zipping all over the place, i thought i was gonna die, you saved my life" and maybe you even hug him and he's not sure how to process this because you're clearly a variant of Spiderman but you hold no animosity or hostility towards him whatsoever and 👉👈 this is the most positive human interaction he's had in ages.

Not even his powers, but his knowledge alone would be extremely useful in this scenario because like, he could literally just warp around stealing whatever parts he needed to build something that would "hold you together", given his involvement with Alchemax and the colliders specifically

You're just so understandably and genuinely grateful and Spot feels GOOD about being needed, about being someone's savior. He really had been one of the only ones who could help you and he gets a little drunk off that fact. Whether your glitching is a mutation and is your own power or you're simply some weird anomaly, you two form a kinship, and if it IS some sort of weird ability, maybe he even decides to mentor you a little! Gives him something to do, and it totally isn't to help distract him from how lonely and depressed and miserable he is!

But similar to how the other villains discounted him, you kind of discount him yourself in the sense that you don't see him as a threat. Which, he doesn't necessarily want you to, and it's not some sort of disrespect thing, but, the linger he spends with you, the more he wants you to see him as a man, a man with needs, emotionally, psychologically, physically. Whyd you have to give him all those hugs when he hasnt had human touch in forever, huh?! Don't you know how lonely and touch starved he is?! And you just think you can--can walk away from him? Disrespect him after everything he's done for you, disrespect him like everyone else?

You can always try and 'outrun him' with your little glitching, but, even if you manage to lose him, he'll pick up your tracks again, and one day you wake up from finally crashing from exhaustion to find a pitch black figure at the foot of the bed, slowly pulling in everything around it like some sort of eldritch black hole. And Jonathan menacingly waves to you, "I don't think I'll have trouble keeping up with you this time. I made sure of it"

Have you ever done RoD class 78 AND class 77 together before I genuinely cannot remember? I know you have a story about RoD class 78 on AO3 but it's not both classes together. Anyways like your previous idea everyone except Makoto is in despair and they keep him around because he is simultaneously their hope amd despair. Despair because he has to watch his friends do things they would have never done, and hope because some of them are waiting for him to join them.

How would the RoD of class 77 view their situation and what would their dynamic be now that they're both fighting for Junko's affection?

The envy over class 78 perpetually having more of Junko's attention and favor than them would be such great despair for the 77th class.

Mondo's "every biker gang in Japan" and Fuyuhiko's, ya know, yakuza, are constantly fighting over turf, because now there's factions within the Ultimate Despair. This lawlessness benefits their side, of course. When it doesn't benefit them to be at odds, they're allies. But they all want to be the ones to earn Junko's approval, and her classmates know her better and she cares about them more. Officially, though, the 77th class has "double seniority", because they're upperclassmen and they were initiated as despair first.

Basically, by objective measures of rank and usefulness, the 77th class should be the favorites; they have a princess controlling kingdoms on Junko's behalf, for despair's sake! They worship her way more than her class does. But she simply doesn't like them as much, and that hurts.

Okay, now Makoto!

He is hanging on to his morals, but naturally his mental health is in shambles. Basically, it's the status quo of Despair's Throbbing Heart, for him; he is keeping layers of denial and dissociation between himself and the horrors and surfacing from that state when there's someone he can save or influence.

The arrangement he's in would be different, in this AU.

The 77th class like to make fun of the 78th class for the fact that their luckster is still on "that good guy BS". They even point to Nagito proudly, like, "Look at our luckster! He set a convenience store on fire yesterday. What's your guy been doing?"

Nagito loves this. His class has never been so supportive and affectionate toward him.

The 78th class's response to this is largely defensive. Like, "Stop bullying Makoto! He's just a late bloomer!" Meanwhile, they all do their best to get him into despair. (Hifumi is the most creative about it.) At first, he meets every attempt with yelling protestations and passionate insistence that they're not like this! He knows them, and they're not like this! After they've done it enough, he loses the energy for such displays, but that doesn't mean he's given up. Every time they do a horrible thing in front of him and he shuts down emotionally, they wait eagerly for him to start laughing or pawing curiously at the ashes or something to indicate he's enjoying it, but he just shuts down for a while and, when his mind considers it safe to resurface, changes the subject.

He still argues and protests what they're doing, but now that he's no longer shocked every time, he can ration his energy so that he's subtle when he needs to be subtle and insistent when he needs to be insistent.

Junko lowkey loves it. When she visits her friends, there will be at least one time where she beckons Makoto over to sit with her and just kind of guides his head to rest on her...chest. Strokes his hair with her long nails and calls him a freak of nature and tells him he disgusts her. Sayaka's cuddled up against his other side, sometimes, but sometimes Junko takes care to get him alone. Quietly, in an alternatingly sweet, cruel, and emotionless tone, she tries to wear him down by talking at length about the futility of his resistance and how much happier he and everyone will be if he just gives in to despair.

He's sometimes trembling with fury while she does this, and sometimes he's just staring into space. Either way, he's managing his energy. He can't fight what she's doing to others if he wastes energy defending himself. And she knows it.

He seems not to be listening, but he saves her words in his mind. Sometimes they're useful, to get his friends to spare people based on little loopholes or slants in what Junko said.

The 77th class repeatedly offers to borrow Makoto for a weekend, claiming they can get him to despair, where his own class has failed. The 78th class tries to refuse, but Junko tells them to let the senpais try. So, sometimes Makoto visits them.

They think he's adorable and weird.

He gravitates toward the ones who do the least horrible stuff in front of him (Ibuki doesn't seem to personally kill anyone.) and the ones who seem the most capable of uncomplicated affection (Akane treats him like a younger sibling, and there doesn't seem to be any edge of weird, fond cruelty to it.).

Nagito and Izuru are fascinated with him.

Both the hope and despair in Nagito are delighted by Makoto. Makoto causes Nagito's class to view him favorably, to take pride in him. But also, Makoto has shown himself to be the best of them, somehow. There is a light within him that cannot be extinguished. It's a precious gift that he simultaneously wants to see destroyed and protected. Literally, any direction that Makoto goes will make Nagito happy, either from the perverse glee of seeing someone so amazing finally falling to despair, or the wholesome glee of seeing him continue to soar above the filth that has claimed everyone else. Either way, he is transfixed. After they've spent more time together, he'll probably start to care about personally protecting the good in Makoto, but at first he's just watching the fireworks with his hands behind his back.

Izuru is likewise fascinated by the unexpected fortitude. Since Makoto is subject to more avenues of attack to his morale, in this AU, than he is in Despair's Throbbing Heart, he's less overtly friendly in this AU than in that fic. He's kind, but he's more careful about who he opens himself up to, meaning the side of himself that he shares with Izuru is less an immediate friendliness than a quiet kindness. Still, Izuru is intrigued by it, and a part of him he doesn't consciously recognize is starved for kindness.

Both Nagito and Izuru are pretty overt about these feelings.

Sometimes Makoto wakes up to see a shadowy figure standing over his bed. "Kamukura?" he guesses from the long hair.

"I was walking past your door, and I heard you having a nightmare. I was curious, so I came to watch."

"...Okay." Makoto rolls over and goes back to sleep.

When Junko has her weird cuddle sessions with Makoto, Nagito will post up to watch, like it is a critically-acclaimed one-act play.

Both of them are constantly commenting on Makoto's behavior out loud in front of him, like they're the Twitch chat of his life.

Occasionally, someone like Akane or Taka will ask Makoto if those guys are bothering him, but he always says no.

(They don't know enough about Izuru to know that there wouldn't be much they could do about it if he was.)

Hi! There’s been so much angst recently (not that I don’t love it) but to lighten the mood, would it be possible to request a modern au Law x reader where they go to Disneyland and reader is loving the atmosphere and Law is, well, being Law.

there has been quite a bit of angst lately hasn't there wlkjdf it's always good to counter it with some good fluff, so I can absolutely do that! granted i've been to disneyland like,,,one time and i was very small

Law loves you. He swears that he does, he must ㅡ that's the only reason he can come up for why he'd agreed to do something like this when it's so far out of his comfort zone.

"Where do you want to go next, babe?"

Home, Law thinks, but he doesn't want to bring your mood down with his as he glances at you. You're in a far better mood, beaming as you adjust your grip on the (third or fourth) stuffed character you've bought today.

"Up to you," he says, watches your smile dim a little.

"I know this isn't your favorite thing to do," you say, "but I appreciate you humoring me."

Law steps closer, pressing his lips to your forehead. "It's fine. It's worth it to see you so excited."

Your cheeks pink, and he smirks at how easy it is to fluster you with simple affection, though you reach down and take his hand into yours before urging him forward with you.

Law has never been one for things like this, all of it overwhelming and disappointing at the same time ㅡ but he isn't about to say that to you. Not when you seem to thrive here ㅡ not for the crowds, but rather the energy of this sprawling park.

Surrounded by bright colors and flashy lights, all Law cares to look at is you. You who takes in the shimmer and shine with wide eyes and a smile he thinks might rival the sun.

These are the kinds of moments that make him wonder if he truly deserves you. But you cling to his hand, eyes on him every time he looks over ㅡ he does deserve you because you think so, and that's enough for him.

"Getting tired?" He asks when the two of you take a break on a bench and you lean into him, head on his shoulder.

"Very," you mumble. "This is has been fun though."

"I think it'd have been more fun if I wasn't following like a rain cloud," he tries to joke, and blinks when you glare up at him.

"Is that what you think? Because I don't think that at all." You know Law isn't trying to upset you, amd you aren't truly ㅡ but you don't want him thinking so poorly of himself, either. "I think it would have been less fun without you. I wouldn't want to be here with anyone but you."

You're not talking about the park, not really. Not about the plushies you've bought, the food you've shared, the mess of colors and sounds and smells ㅡ none of that. And you think Law knows, because he leans back against you, head bumping yours affectionately.

"Good," he answers, tone soft. "I wouldn't want to be here with anyone but you either."

"We'll just have to be there for her as a pack." He shrugs, holding you where you're sprawled out almost on top of him, limbs trying to hold onto him as his hand runs up and down your back. "She seems most calm when most of us are around." He explains.

"Well, good thing we've got some time off anyways." Jimin says, placing a puzzle piece down where it belongs. "Amd I think it's good the world gets to see this too. I think most forget what we have to regularly go through as hybrids." He explains, as Jungkook nods.

They're all sure this conversation will most likely get cut out the final episode. But they've long stopped caring- that fact having showed itself especially when Jungkook had put his foot down and told the company he'd not join the project if you weren't allowed to tag along.

And at first, it was all great- the first week of filming good enough for the camera directors it seemed like, and fans really enjoyed the more personal and domestic side of everyone- including you. But then you'd suddenly gotten sick when you went home for a few days with the guys- a private checkup confirming that you weren't necessarily sick, but simply going through your quarterly cycle as a hybrid-

Or your 'heat' as it's commonly referred to.

The only reason you're so quiet and dependant however is to be blamed on the company's decision to use a hormonal shot for you- medication used to eliminate and conquer any natural effects of your cycle, and 'calm you down', according to advertisers and pharmaceutical companies.

'Calming you down' just being a different term for making you emotionally and physically miserable.

You're tired, without any energy to do much, uninterested in anything really. Your mood is rather gloomy and unsure, nothing really able to cause you any positive excitement due to your hormones being all messed up. You cling to any member that accepts it, desperate for any form of security it seems like, constantly worried of things you can't voice out.

Because by now, you've gone completely entirely silent, rarely ever making a sound.

"Things like that shouldn't be legal." Jungkook mumbles almost angrily to himself as he searches for a correct puzzle piece. "Like, it shouldn't be legal for anyone to be able to decide things like this for someone who's able to make these decisions themselves." He quietly argues, and a cameraman coughs- as if to remind him he's still there.

Well, that'll certainly get cut for sure.

"Her fever isn't nearly as high as it was though." Yoongi offers, sitting down on the floor after checking your head silently for your temperature. "She'll hopefully nap it off soon." He softly says, watching you nuzzle into Taehyung's chest.

"Hopefully." Jungkook grumbles, still mad at the whole situation. You don't deserve this. He hates knowing you don't feel well- and that he can't do anything about it.

But that's how it'll be sometimes.

And as long as he's there together with everyone else to hold you during times like these, it might just be okay.

gojo purposefully teaches and interacts with each of his students based on their personalities and how he thinks they would best learn and absorb information.

with yuuji it was movies and anime/pop culture analogies to understand and control his cursed energy. plus of course hands on training and combat for all of them.

with yuuta he was both logical and empathetic, cs yuta is both. he leverages yuta's sense of responsibility to help him both break his curse with Rika, and learn how to control it.

and i always see people reference gojo saying 'yikes you're kinda gloomy' in response to yuta saying he tried to kill himself as gojo being rude and insenstive. while gojo can often be rude, in this case i do believe he's trying to make light of the situation.

it's more awkward IMO! when someone pities/babies you in this situation.. making a joke/being normal is a better response, and i think that's what he was doing, trying to make yuta feel better.

with megumi i believe he was the most straighforward. megumi does not care for small talk or sugarcoating things amd beating around the bush. no matter the situation. and gojo knows this cs they've known each for 10+ yrs now. he knows how to talk to megumi and get through to him in a way that'll hit home.

their relationship seems cut and dry cs megumi is stoic and not affectionate and gojo respects that, most of the time 😄 gojo cared enough to put yuji in the room next to megumi cs he knows megumi is reclusive, so that he can make friends.

i agree gojo and megumi's relationship is more of an annoying older brother than father-son, and i love it when they bicker. anyway, i wish we could've seen more gojogumi interactions in the years they knew each. but gege man..

FTF Shorts: Not Even Close!

A vs show where the longer analysis and set up is skipped in order to briefly explain why a certain fight is nowhere near close.

Rose Quartz vs Omni-Man!

To get started, Nolan is an absolute beast in combat. A conqueror with hundreds of years of combat experience at the least.

In terms of raw power, Omni-Man is strong enough to, with the help of his son and Thaddeus, punch a hole through a planet, a feat that would require 27 Zettatons at the highest.

He's also fast enough to cross the solar system in at most two weeks:

As impressive as this is, it doesn't even hold a candle to one feat to Rose's name. When the Diamonds attempted to obliterate all life in Earth surface from a galaxy away, they creatsd a diamond blast that lit up the entire galaxy around it. Generating that much light would require an energy equivalent to 3.97 megafoe and to reach earth in the time it did, would've had to have been traveling at 48 trillion times light speed.

In one moment, Rose blocked an attack that was 86,399,998,000,000,000x stronger than Nolan's best feat with help and 1,176,295,800,000x faster than Omni-Man has ever moved in his life.

And that's on top of Rose being much, much older and more experienced than him. While Nolan has been alive for 2000 years, Rose has been alive for eons amd has been fighting against the diamond invaders since the earliest humans first showed up on Earth, roughly 2 million years at the low end. So even if a skill advantage could outmatch a foe billions of times faster and stronger, Omni-Man doesn't even have that. And unlike Rose's regeneration, which could likely let her survive vaporization so long as her gemstone is intact, Nolan's definitively could not survive getting punched to molecules like what that strength gap would do to him.

Now, before we continue, I'm going to head off some arguments I've seen against Rose here.

The Diamond Blast wasn't an attack so it doesn't count for stats. It was just a bright light.

Yes, but it's more complicated than that. Think of it like a lightbulb. Creating light requires energy and in order to function, the lightbulb would have to be durable enough to not melt or explode from channeling that much energy and heat. The Diamonds are very obviously not exploded and Rose is very much comparable to her siblings. Steven inherited all of her powers and he could bring the diamonds to their knees.

It's been stated that Gems can't move FTL.

That statement is very inconsistent within the series itself. Gems can pilot ships that travel intergalactic distances, Lapis can fly to the Homeworld galaxy by herself within a reasonable time span, teleporters move gems across cosmic distances which gems csn still react to, Steven can astral project his soul from another galaxy, etc. Even kn the episode that statement is from, Steven can force himself to the front of his seat to stop the ship, which would require FTL speeds to do.

If you want to throw scientific accuracy into things, then Nolan shouldn't have superpowers because Smart Atoms shouldn't be determined by DNA. Writers are not physicists and sometimes the feats themselves just say "No."

What about crossovers?

A lot of the crossovers with Invincible are dubiously canon at best, even when just restricted to the comic itself. Sticking to just the canon crossovers with the Tick and Supreme, the best Nolan would get is scaling from Suprema who could kick around a star, a planet busting feat.

Certainly an upgrade, but still not in spitting distance of Rose. Only about 8x stronger than Omni-Man's normal feats.

I'm leaving Mortal Kombat and Multiverses at the door because that's a rabbit hole of scaling that never ends and it's obviously not canon. That said, Rose would likely get Superman scaling if you really wanted to go there, so....... (Injustice Superman is not as strong as mainline comics Superman if you want to go there).

That said, this does make me realize that this crossover could totally canonically happen if the companies that be allowed it....

How do you know the Diamonds were on Homeworld when the blast was fired?

Blue Diamond directly states that White hasn't left Homeworld in Eons. She was not speaking exaggerating. Gems who have not spent considerable time with humans consistently do not understand idioms, metaphors, and hyperbole. Neither do the Zoomans, as they were raised in Gem captivity. As such, there was no possible chance for Blue to pick up on that quirk before Future and no reason to take it as anything other than the literal truth. As such, the Diamonds would've had to fire the blast drom Homeworld, which is in another galaxy.

Final Thoughts

Let me end this off with one last point of comparison. In Season 2, Nolan is left so horrified and purposeless from his actions that he contemplates killing himself in front of a black hole. It is heavily implied that the black hole would absolutely kill him if he entered it.

In the tie-in video game, Unleash the Light, Steven and the Crystal Gems are able to walk around inside a black hole without a single scratch on them. Rose was considered the greatest and most powerful of them when she was alive so she absolutely scales to this.

Something that would've absolutely killed Omni-Man did absolutely nothing to people canonically weaker than Rose. That's a wrap from me, chief.
