Animals of Section 8: Oasis Unicorns; Standard
Origin Species: Thoroughbred Horses, American Quarter Horses, and Narwhals.
Group Amount: The farmyard has one herd of Standard Oasis Unicorns, and it consists of eight mares, three stallions, two colts and four fillies.
Size: Their size and build when they reach maturity is within the standard for both origin horse breeds. They stand between fourteen to seventeen hands tall and weigh between nine-hundred and fifty to one thousand and two-hundred pounds. The males are generally larger than the females.
Appearance: The unicorns have solid coats in either white, black or brown with manes of various textures and natural colors. They also have white, silver, or gold hooves and horns of the same color protruding from the center of their foreheads. The horns are roughly ten inches long and need to be dulled regularly due to safety reasons.
Temperament: Standard Oasis Unicorns have temperaments suited for interacting with guests and are docile and obedient enough to be ridden. Even though they've been shown to be safe there are still trained staff members present during riding sessions and other interactions.
Diet: The bulk of their diets consists of alfalfa and timothy hay, along with constant access to fresh water and a variety of grains, fruits and vegetables.
Viewing Dates: Year Round

NEW GENERATION OF CURLIES
Mette's POV
It a good thing that the Stock mares arrived when they did, bc yesterday all three mares gave birth to the next generation of Curlies. Please welcome DER Ain't No Mountain, DER Lunar Knight and DER Golden Zephyr to the stable!
First one to be showed off is DER Ain't No Moutain aka. Annie. Her sire is our 1. generation Curly stallion DER Phantom Force, and her dam is American Paint Horse mare DER Ain't No Dumb Blonde. Annie is a Curly filly in the colour of Amber Champagne Overo (Ee AA nCh nO).
She is not as energetic as her dam, but also not as laid back as her sire - she is in a good middle ground. She is a horse who knows what she wants, and if she doesn't want to be touched? Then don't touch her. She is not shy of biting, though she will learn at some point that that's not okay. Being the offspring of a highly social dam, and a very anti-social sire, she is again in a good middle ground. Being braveish, though some things scares her.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Second one up is DER Lunar Knight aka. Knight. He is a Curly colt in the colour Bay Roan (EE Aa Rr), and his coat isn't as curly as his sire DER Concealed by the Moon. His dam is American Quarter Horse mare DER The Warrior Princess.
Knight is such a laidback young kid. Nothing seems to surprise him or scare him. I wonder if he will be as easy to breaking in as his sire, when he comes of age. He is highly sociable though not big on games, even if he will race with the other foals, even sometimes take on the adult horses!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is DER Golden Zephyr. He takes after his grandmother Tootsie Roo, who was also a Palomino like he is himself (ee AA nCr). He is a Curly colt with sire DER Passing Breeze, a 1. gen Curly), and dam DER Koda, a Quarter Horse.
Zephyr is the wildchild of this crop, even though not as wild as they come. He loves racing with Knight, and being an ass to the young Annie, because she is a girl (EW!). He is mostly among the foals, but rarely interact with the adult horses in the pastures, not even the other mares with foals. He is a foal that clearly shows what he wants and what he doesn't want. Playing all day is his game.

Why is it so important for horses, especially young ones, to live in a big mixed group with loads of space? First of all the obvious, movement in fresh air. To be able to run around all day, play and eat makes sure not only the bones and tendons but also inner organs such as the heart and lungs develope in a healthy manner, horses who preddominantly live inside often have issues in the respiratory system and, thanks to not being able to move properly and often have too long breaks in between meals have bowl issues. Second is one many horse-owners forget about. Mental health and “nurturing/education”. All horses are herd animals. Every horse needs a herd but not every herd is suitable for every horse and vice verda. It is of extreme importance, especially with young horses. They learn how to be a horse, how to accept boundaries and how to properly communicate. How to be polite but persistant if need be. You can see this very well in these immages. In the first one you can see that both my girl(the one in the middle) and the appaloosa are trying to appease an older horse by “foal biting”,  basically very open chewing. This both signals that they mean no harm but also says “Please don’t hurt me.”. The young ones are meeting that older horse(OH) for the first time. On the second picture the OH signals that it is not interested and is in fact bothered by two younglings shoving their faces at OH and giving OH no real space. My girl understood that warning per simple facial expression and backed off but the Appaloosa still didn’t give up until OH got a bit more persistant. OH did not get physical (aka did not bite or kick) but clearly showed in its whole demeanor that that would most likely be the next step. Now the little thick head understood and everyone was at peace.
Boundaries were sat, the situation was over and they all continued grazing peacefully next to each other. (something we should always keep in mind when setting boundaries as well. Never should we get resentful when working with horses) Experiences like this are vital for whatever you would like to do with your horse in the future. Just like with other animals, horses need to learn from other horses how to behave first before they can learn to understand humans. This is the foundation for everything that follows. On the other hand, social interaction obviously results in happier horses. They are herd animals, and even stallions(who in the wild usually live in small groups away from mares and their foals) need social interaction for their mental health.

Pony gelding, 14yrs old
He looks like someone crossed an American Saddlebred with a bull terrier. Excellent choice, 10/10
Tumblr media
Warmblood filly, exact age unspecified
She looks like she’s too sweet for this world. It’s rare that you see a warmblood that looks as trustworthy as a golden retriever, but here she is. I’d give her a hug. 9/10

Quarter Horse filly, 1yr old
They’re really trying to drive home the fact that they’re selling an American Quarter Horse from the US of A. Also, why are her socks so... grey? It looks like the color of this image was altered somehow and it screwed with her white markings. Quality ad, 3/10

Oldenburg Horse mare, 3yrs old
This picture looks like it was taken in the 90s. Her middle part and the look of existential crisis in her eyes make me think that this horse does not need training, but therapy. 2/10

PAIN IN THE ASTERISK. aka Risky.
AGE. newborn
SEX. Filly
DOB. 3/10/2022
BREED. American Quarter Horse.
ORIGIN. Colt was called out when the dam was in labor. The owners were extremely poor, and the mare that was foaling was very old. After multiple hours, the dam died in child birth, and the family didn’t have the capacity to take care of the foal. Colt then brought home the foal. Colt spent every night sleeping in the stall  with her when she was a few days old to make sure she survived it.
PERSONALITY. Annoying, bratty. The mare loves Colt. She will come running when she hears Colt’s Bronco. She likes people and is very interested in them. If Colt is fixing a fence, she’s right there investigating. She’ll come see people too, mostly for food / face rubs.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS. Big butt. Soft eyes.
LIKES. Escaping and standing on the back porch. Sugar cubes.
QUIRKS. Escape artist. No one knows how. She’ll hang out on the back porch and lick the door until someone notices her. She follows Colt around. Her and Colt sleep in the pasture together. Colt bucket feeds her until she’s ready to be weaned into creep feeding.

WE HAVE HAD OUR FIRST BABY!
Sired by R&DR Counterfeit Bronze (Clyde), R&DR Bullet Show at Dawn (Arizona) gave birth to this beautiful dark bay filly we have dubbed as Whiskey for now. Her show name will come as soon as we figure out what we're doing with her little self! The first foal of the ranch with both parents being excellent barrel racers, Whiskey is sure to be just as good if not better than her superstar parents.

SPIRIT ANIMAL
HORSE SPIRIT ANIMAL
HORSE MEANING, AND MESSAGES
Horse symbolism is letting you know that you have the power to change anything and everything you choose in your life. Moreover, it means that the wild freedom of this spirit can be harnessed and used for your benefit and those around you. This understanding comes only when man and beast enter a silent contract acknowledging mutual respect and awareness of responsibility to each other.
Alternatively, you must understand that real power is the wisdom found in remembering your journey as a whole. Furthermore, compassion, caring, teaching, loving, and sharing your gifts, talents, and abilities are the gateways to power.
Inevitably, Horse meaning advises you that all pathways have equal validity. Keeping this in mind will give you insight into the power and the glory of a unified family and humanity. Every human being must follow a pathway to empowerment before galloping upon the wings of destiny.
HORSE TOTEM, SPIRIT ANIMAL
The Horse totem symbolizes freedom. People with this spirit animal will consistently find themselves on a new journey. This totem will teach you to ride in new directions and discover your power and liberty. Horse totem people are usually friendly and adventurous. If you have this totem, you must free yourself from perceived limitations. You must continuously question yourself as to whether or not you need to move on or allow others to withdraw. This animal will teach you how to ride in new directions to awaken and discover your freedom and power.
DRAFT HORSE
Horse Dream Interpretation
In general, a Horse dream may indicate you will see a project or event to a successful conclusion. Falling off an equine in your vision means that you are nervous about a project or activity you have scheduled. Dreaming of this animal with reins, pulling a wagon, or tied with ropes indicates that you are feeling restricted and desire more freedom in your life. A bucking bronco Horse dream suggests a need to break old habits.
Also, a frightened Horse running fast is an indication that your fears are keeping you from fulfilling your dreams. Running away from these issues are impeding your progress. Conversely, a sleeping Horse dream indicates that you are ignoring a vital opportunity to remove an obstruction to your happiness. A mare with a foal suggests the beginning of a new phase or journey in your life. A horse dream in which a filly or a colt is frantically searching for its mother is symbolic of spiritual indecision. In other words, you are confused about what you want to believe and where you want to place your trust.
THE COLOUR OF THE HORSE IN THE HORSE DREAM
The colours of this noble animal, whether it be a part of a dream, vision, your spirit animal, or messenger is always significant. We have compiled the symbolism of each colour here for your further study. These messages apply specifically to the equine mammal. You can also study some of the specific breeds like the Arabian and American Quarter Horses.
These colours can also apply to the Llama and the Camel.
WHITE HORSE SYMBOLISM
In this case, the white steed represents an avatar or master of knowledge and faith. They are the teacher of spiritual progress and are adept in the fields of intellectualism and reason. This spirit animal has command of their emotions and manifests perfect justice. Also, this animal signifies the coming of a spiritual lesson or teacher into your life.
PALOMINO (GOLDEN) HORSE TOTEM
A golden-coloured equine signifies the coming of a spiritual manifestation. They are symbolic of the rising sun and are Masters of action. It is a new day, and there is a lot to do. Therefore, you must trust your inner wealth of knowledge to reach your goals. Moreover, believe in your heart that all things are possible and that all will now be available to you.
GRAY HORSE SYMBOLISM
Always bet on the gray on a rainy day, and when things are difficult, look for the silver lining. In other words, believe that whatever you are undergoing will soon be resolved. Alternatively, this colour equine can represent shady dealings and undertakings. Consequently, you should go inwards and be honest with yourself.
BLACK HORSE MEANING
The black steed symbolism is both death-defying and death-seeking. In other words, it is symbolic of death and rebirth. It signifies the closing of one door and the opening of another. It can also symbolise the need for you to take a leap of faith. Trust intuition even if you can’t see the reason or the result. Go blindly forth and believe.
ROAN (DARK WITH WHITE HAIRS INTERSPERSED) HORSE TOTEM
The roan equine signifies that there are traditional concepts that are blocking your spiritual progress. Perhaps you are a little self-satisfied and over complacent. This animal is giving you a clear message that you need to root out your emotional and spiritual blockages to move forward.
BAY (MEDIUM BROWN WITH BLACK MANE AND TAIL) HORSE MEANING
The bay steed is symbolic of steady progress toward your goals. Furthermore, it symbolises that you are safely on your path and nurturing all the right elements for yourself to grow. In other words, keep up the excellent work!
BROWN HORSE MEANING
The brown equine is a reminder not to get caught up in the worship of worldly goods. Know that the Universe will always provide everything that you will need at the moment and that not all things are necessities. Once you release your attachment to your materialism, you make room for the abundance.
RED HORSE SYMBOLISM
The red steed is symbolic of hidden anger, vengefulness, and combativeness. He is letting you know that perhaps your current actions fall into these categories. Alternatively, someone close to you is harbouring ill will and jealousy.
BLACK AND WHITE HORSE SYMBOLISM
The black and white animal totem is representative of balance. It can also be symbolic of indecisiveness and divided loyalties. Dig within to regain your balance and be true to yourself. Only you can change yourself.
