[OC/BTP] Amhlaoibh (Oww-liff) the OIllipheist who learned the magic to take a humanoid form. Said magic functions similarly to that of a Selkie, so he wears his own skin as a brat when he takes this humanoid form. He still enjoys the chance to nick a snack in his loch every once in a while.

DANCE WITH MEEEEE 💃🕺💃🕺
~~lyrics below~~
I. Dá bhfaigheann mo rogha de thriúir acu, De thriúir acu, de thriúir acu, Dá bhfaigheann mo rogha de thriúir acu, Cé hé acu siud do b' fhearr liom?
Ó mo mhíle gille thú, Grá mo chroí is fiche tú Ó mo mhíle gille thú 'S tú peata geal do mháthar
Ní phósfainn féin an táilliúirín, An táilliúirín, an táilliúirín, Ní phósfainn féin an táilliúirín Bíonn codladh grifín on gclár air
Ní phósfainn féin an gabha dubh, An gabha dubh, an gabha dubh, Ní phósfainn féin an gabha dubh Mar bíonn sé dubh sa cheartain
Ní phósfainn féin an t-iascaire, An t-iascaire, an t-iascaire, Ní phósfainn féin an t-iascaire Mar bíonn sé fliuch go bhásta
Sé mo rogha an veidhleadóir, An veidhleadóir, an veidhleadóir, Sé mo rogha an veidhleadóir Sé an veidhleadóir is fearr liom
II. Dhannsadh, gun dannsadh Dhannsamaid le Ailean Dhannsadh, gun dannsadh Dhannsadh Ailean leinn
Ruidhleadh Màiri Tàillear Dhannsadh Màiri Tàillear Ruidhleadh Màiri Tàillear Gus na dh'fhàs i tinn
Ged bha Màiri crùbach Agus car na glùinean Dhannsadh i gu sunndach Air an ùrlar ghrinn
III. Hao hil o il 'S i Cairistìon' nighean Eòghainn Hao hil o il Cha mhòr nach do chailleadh i
Hu hil u bhi Seinnidh Cas Odhar a phìob Hu hil u bhi Nì sinn ruidhl' aighearach

I've been working on translating this passage from Cinnlae Amhlaoibh Uí Shúileabháin;
[An ceathramha la ficiodh .i. la Fheil Seaghain .i. soíre .i. dia haoine]
So far I have [the 4th of ? also known as the festival of St. John also known as ? also known as Friday]
Can someone more familiar with Middle Irish spellings help me out?

I really want someone with a VERY Irish name (though they'd probably go by an anglicised pseudonym) to become famous internationally to watch all the hosts and presenters struggle.
Saoirse Ronan and Domhnall Gleeson were difficult? I want to see them attempt a name like Bláthnaid Ní Chofaigh, Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh, Sibéal Ní Chasaide, or Eoghan Ó Ceannabháin

Scarabia Character Songs and Associations
Tumblr media
Our fourth dorm, Scarabia, contains two musically-oriented students. They both have hobbies and interests that directly are influenced by music in some form or another, so what sorts of songs may fit these two characters' inner worlds, and outer selves?
Notes: Every song is from my liked songs playlist (so feel free to judge me for my taste, haha!) and I only allowed myself to use an artist once for this project. There is also some strong language and mature themes in some of the songs, so be aware if you choose to listen to them. I’ve included: - A song that represents them - A song they’d listen to - and (for some) an additional song, depending on the character and circumstance
The full Spotify playlist for ALL songs and characters is linked at the end of the post.
Heartslabyul | Savanaclaw | Octavinelle | Pomefiore | Ignihyde | Diasomnia
Kalim Al-Asim
Represented by: Top of the World - Carpenters
Kalim is first and foremost an optimist.  He's incredibly positive, and absolutely a people person.  If others are happy, he is happy!  This is especially true if it's a person he cares for deeply. This song reflects that exact sort of mindset that he holds!
Listens to: Ríleanna / Reels: Ormond Sound, The Torn Jacket - Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh
Pretty much any music that is good for dancing is something Kalim would like listening to.  ESPECIALLY upbeat, pleasant music that can be used for dancing in groups!  Since the songs I'm using here are all from my liked songs playlist, I thought that these reels would be most suited to his music taste :)
Bonus - Suggests for Music Club: Birdhouse in Your Soul - They Might Be Giants
This is an incredibly upbeat, happy song - just the type that Kalim would be drawn to. It has uplifting, somewhat silly lyrics, and an overall good energy. It also has a fairly prominent drum line, which Kalim would find fun as the main percussionist in the club!
Jamil Viper
Represented by: All Eyes On Me - OR3O
While this mostly is similar to his character in Chapter 4 and beyond (Ch. 4 spoilers ahead), this song reflects Jamil's desire to have the freedom to show who he is, his abilities, and his potential as his own person.  Plus, Jamil is remarkably powerful, and his Signature Spell/Unique Magic is made possible through eye contact, so lines like, "Focus on me /  I'll be all that they see" fit pretty well in that regard, too!
Listens to: Brain Stew - Green Day
Jamil seems like he would listen to fairly heavy music, including rock, punk, and maybe melodic metal.  Here, he would relate to the feeling of pure exhaustion conveyed in Brain Stew.  He would also like other Green Day songs, primarily those with a slower tempo (like 21 Guns), or a complex storyline and songwriting (like Jesus of Suburbia).
Bonus - Dances to: Alors on danse - Stromae
Though there are other songs with much more prominent breaks / drops, Jamil could (and would!) definitely be able to dance to some Stromae!  Stromae's music is basically made for dancing, so Jamil and his dancer's soul would really resonate with the energy of it. And he'd probably also enjoy the somewhat cynical lyrics of Alors on danse especially.

Róisín Dubh - Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh and the Irish Chamber Orchestra
Róisín Dubh (Irish: [ˈɾˠoːʃiːnʲ ˈd̪ˠʊw]; "Dark Rosaleen" or "Little Dark Rose"), written in the 16th century, is one of Ireland's most famous political songs. It’s a love song... for Ireland!  This version is performed for the project "Róisín ReImagined."
