Damn you're my most favorite thumbr tf2 writer, MANY THANKS for what you do🙏🙏🙏
Can i request medic with a s/o who also wears glasses? You know, silly things like changing them for fun or to compare eyesight, loosing and helping to find, accidentally bumping into each other and dropping them, taking them off and putting on.... Was medic trying to fix his own eyesight? Why didn't he do it?
Wanted to sign as «probably-not-glassy-anon🥴🥴» but ohh no anonymity😧😧
"I lost my vision." "They lost their vision."
Character: Medic
Notes: omg thank you so much! <33 Hope you like this. Also I'm back bitches
Tumblr media
Do you know this trend that says: "Putting the same
hairstyle/outifi" as my bestie /significant other? Well, he suggested you to put some glasses similar to his and go to battlefield like that. It's funny because he actually thinks that your teammates can't tell you apart.
I like to think that he had thought about fixing his own eyesight, but after he met you, he decided no to do it. Why? Beucase the more similarities with you, the better!
One time, before you two were in a relationship, he bumped into you and both of your glasses fell to the floor. He apologised to you as he looked for them, thanks to Archimedes he found them before you and looked at you. He instantly fell more in love with you, you were so pretty with and without glasses! He quickly took your glasses and put them on you. You smiled at him as you scurried away with a small blush on your face.
After battles he likes to steal your galsses from you and clean them. He got so angry when the BLU Scout broke them, you walkep up to him while he was healing himself near the dispenser. You had your broken glasses in your hands and a frown on your face. He worriedly approached you and checked if you had any serious injury, Scout approached you two with a smile in an attempt to cheer you up. "What happened?" He asked as he took some ammo from the dispenser. "I lost my vision", you answered, "They lost their vision" Medic repeated now looking at Scout. The bostonian's face fell down with worry, he knew that you couldn't see shit without your glasses. So, instead of calling for Engie so he could repair them his mosquito sized brain got a better idea. "How many fingers am I holding?" He asked you as he flicked you off with a smirk. You, on the other side, could see his middle finger up, a bit blurred but you could still know what it was. "One." You said. Medic got angrier, first the BLU Scout broke your glasses and now Scout was messing with you instead of helping. So, he said: "Let's see if you can see this." And threw his bone-saw at Scout's face.
Loves when you put his glasses up for him when he has bloody hands. For him, it's very romatic, alright? He also likes to put you two's glasses on his birds and start doing voices for them.

MEET THE TARGET
Tumblr media
His job is to explode. @tf2shipswag
(More info under cut)
Most of the time, anyway. They're... not exactly intended for field work. Heck they don't even provide them with anything other than a melee for battle.
The only time he's allowed on the field is when his team's down a member compared to the other. This is why only one target can be active in total.
That's the main reason. The other reason is because he's actually secretly working for both sides for double the amount of money and stress.
He's got a busy schedule.
Mercenaries can block out time with the Target, whether for a moving target to shoot at, or an extra set of hands to help with work. Most of the time when he disappears off to perform his tasks as the enemy team's Target it's assumed he's working with someone else.
RED Target and BLU Target: Red Target and his Blu counterpart are the same person. He uh. Has to do a lot of mental gymnastics to keep everything straight.
Red Target's name on the paperwork is Target Mal Practice.
Blu Target's name is just Ticket. He still responds to Target, because it's his job.
Target knows most of the secret passages and ventilation system, because he uses it to sneak around.
The Target's behave differently, Ticket being more mellow and reserved and Target being more upbeat and cocky. There's a lot more small details that are maintained to keep up the balancing act. It's probably exacerbating the issues he already had with his identity.
Target is a lying liar who lies and feels bad about it. I mean. He doesn't legally exist anyway. But for most things he's a terrible liar until lives are on the line.
Design Notes: Target is designed to fill in for the missing merc in lore, because he can pick up the enemy counterpart's weapons. He's not really offense or defense, even though he can do those jobs, so I suppose he's a support class. His class symbol is meant to resemble that of a Crash Test Dummy's. The helmet helps distinguish his head shape and give him a unique silhouette. The Target's Battle Mechanics: Target, again, only starts out with a melee. This is because he can pick up weapons from intact corpses. Primaries and Secondaries are fair game. He can only hold one of each weapon type at a time, one Primary, one Secondary, and one Melee. No funky shenanigans. The ammo pool of the weapon he scavenged is all he's getting. No ammo packs, no dispenser or cart usage for ammo. But. He also gets whatever stored value that is in the weapon. Heads? Why not. Revenge Crits? Heck yeah. The Medigun has special rules, because it does not have ammo to run out of. But rest assured he does inherit the ubercharge% from the fallen medic. The Medigun backpack will also be worn on his model. He can only get two ubercharges max out of a medigun. Lunchbox Items are one time use. Target is not allowed to pick up Melees because we want him to always be on the lookout for new weapons. And we don't want him to be able to backstab. The Target is bright yellow for a reason. You need to kill him before he scrounges up something deadly. -125 hp -107% , Same as Medic and Spy
Anyway, joining tf2shipswag's tournament. I have a lot more to share about this dude, so asks are open! Will create propaganda later.

And now, my first TF2 oc, and probably my favorite out of all the ones I've made. Because she's been around the longest, her background is probably the one that I have filled out the most. Here's what her bio on the file says, in case it's hard to read: After seeing her brother get drafted into the military during the peak of WWII, Catherine decided that, even though she couldn't enlist as a soldier, she would contribute to war efforts through the Army Nurse Corps. Although she didn't meet the age requirements(she was 18 at the time, but the ANC only accepted women 21 years of age or older,) nor did she have the proper Medical Licencing, Catherine forged documents falsifying her age and Medical Knowledge. Despite her experience, no soldiers have ever died under her watch. More about her: In my AU (Where all my Women Mercenaries exist) the Mediguns are kinda a big deal, so a Medic requires the proper training to work with them. Thus, before this Medic could operate a Medigun on her own, she was stationed with the OG Mercenaries (the ones we all know and love) so she could be trained to use the Medigun alongside that team's Medic.
While she was training, she functioned as a 10th class, and her class title was "Nurse" as she wasn't a qualified Medic yet (and it was easier to differentiate between the two doctors easier.) While she couldn't use the Medigun, she still provided aid to the team by being able to hand out Ammo boxes and Medpacks, essentially working as a portable Dispenser.
She developed friendly relationships with the guys, practically becoming the team Mom, and developed a romantic relationship with the Engineer.
After she gained the correct qualifications, she was moved to the all-women team where the rest of my OCs are, and she took on the title of Medic.
Despite her relationships with the OG mercs, the chart still displays her relationships with the women's team.
(Also, she has a bit of a god complex because what Medic doesn't have a god complex?)

Max has stolen Taurie’s tools to make himself a nice wooden Dispenser to live inside of. Even more fun, it dispenses mice and catnip instead of ammo and scrap metal. “I am a little Engineer, building your destruction…” he sang to himself as he worked.
"Huh...don't remember this being here." Taurie said, looking at the ramshackle box and frowning when he saw a few of his tools nearby.
Wait a minute...
Kneeling down he tapped his knuckles on the wood surface, pausing and listening as he hears Max singing to himself. He couldn't help but half smile and shook his head as he called out.
"You haven't gone and nailed yerself in...whatever this is, have ya? Mah dispenser typically don't have no one inside em. In spite of what Pyro says about lil gnomes handin out bullets.'
The story of a gun loving gnome that handed out bullets to mercs that protected their Engineer's buildings seemed to satisfy the firebug. Taurie didn't have to go into detail on how the dispenser worked and Pyro was eager to defend his machines.

i know it’s a common joke in the fandom that medic hates the dispenser for stealing his job, but do you think he’d actually care? if anything his job is being made a fuckton easier, plus everyone is now armed with ammo too

welcome, to the second issue of the teufort times!
THIS WEEK'S PATCH NOTES:
Tumblr media
WHY THE AGGRESIVE SPY PLAYSTILE SUCKS (AND HOW TO FIX IT)
Since the release of the dead-ringer in the sniper vs spy update, the aggresive spy playstyle has been quite the sensation with spy mains.
Tumblr media
(tryhardius spycicus trying to mate with a fictionalius waifius caught in the wild lands of doublecross)
but lately, i have seen quite the discourse when it comes to such interesting specimens. I always thought it was universally agreed that such playstyle was terrible, and that it was a terrible deviation from how spy is supposed to be played. But surprisingly, some like this playstyle. Lets break it down.
THE KUNAI:
Tumblr media
Spy is a spy. We can all agree on that. And what does a spy do? Well, a spy can do many things, but the most important thing is that he should try his best at not getting caught, and if he gets caught, he should be punished for it. But the kunai just sorta says "fuck that, imma do my own thing"
By giving spy the health of a soldier and the movespeed of a medic, he just becomes a fucking beast. "But Hatty, spy only has 70 health when using the kunai!" well, when the kunai is paired with shit like the dead-ringer, the 70 health penalty just becomes a small annoyance. And the fact that the backstab hitboxes are kinda broken doesnt help the kunai's case. So overral, the kunai fucking sucks. But thats only like, 80% of the problem.,
THE DEAD-RINGER:
Tumblr media
There are 2 types of weapons in TF2: poorly designed ones, and poorly balanced ones. The deadringer falls into the poorly designed ones section. Look, i get it, faking your death is cool, but in practice, its pretty overpowered. I mean, its a free get out of jail card. And when paired with the kunai, this thing becomes flat out busted. Like cmon, just running away from your problems while also having 225 health without any penalty is pretty busted.
HOW TO FIX IT
Tumblr media
also, the deadringer is pretty simple, just make it so that you have a slower cloak regen and less damage res.
but now., lets talk about something else.,
AS A PART-TIME ENGI MAIN, PYBROS CAN GO FUCK OFF.
look. I know this sounds bad, BUT, hear me out for a moment. I often call playing engineer as "roleplaying as a single mother" because you have to take care of all your sweet little angels i mean, buildings, and make sure they get some cool frags and help your team. But pybro's turn the engineer experience into "1950's american housewife roleplay". Why, you might ask? Well, maybe its because there is a pyro constantly taking care of my precious little buildings, while i do absolutely nothing outside of maybe moving my dispenser to the other side of the room so its the pyro can more easily access it. That just makes engineer a boring class. You play engi so that you can feel the rush of grabbing your buildings and saving them from those big, mean, and ugly soldiers. But then also watch your sentry get a cool ass frag on a trolldier. Do you get it? DO YOU SEE MY VISION? I WANT TO PLAY ENGINEER BECAUSE I WANT TO FEEL SOME SENSE OF ADRENALINE AND RUSH, AND ALSO PRIDE WHEN MY LITTLE SENTRY MASSACRES THE OTHER TEAM. BUT THAT MUSH MOUTHED FREAK JUST COMPLETELY REMOVES THAT, AND WHY? WHO KNOWS WHAT INHUMANE THOUGHTS LIE BEHIND THAT MASK? I WONT BE LETTING THAT PYROMANIAC ANYWHERE NEAR MY BUILDINGS. END OF DISCUSSION.
THIS WEEK'S WORKSHOP HIGHLIGHT:
Tumblr media
MANNIFEST DESTINY!
(taunt made by MalwooWS and Olu! Go check em out!)
TODAY'S SPECIAL IS.,. OH MY GOD, I FUCKING LOVE THE PANIC ATTACK.
Tumblr media
this is the first special where we will talk about some underrated weapons, like the panic attack. This shotgun is great! Its everything a shotgun should be! It comes out faster, which helps with its "oh shit, im all outta ammo" use, and the fixed bullet spread is very nice. And cmon, look at it! It looks gangsta as fuck. So take a break from the stock shotty and try this bad boy. (plus its strange version is really cheap)

Help me figure a thing out from the lore: how does the heatsink clip work into the weapon? By that I mean, from where is it inserted to how can it even fit every gun?
It doesn’t make sense to me because not only there doesn’t seem to be a dedicated entrance and exit for it (save rare exceptions, but even those don’t help), the reload animations doesn’t really help figure it out. Plus, the size of the clip is never explained… how can an universal design fit and take the required heat load from very different gun types, sizes and heat production!
Take the Carnifex, how can the clip be inserted like a modern pistol when there doesn’t seem to room for it, given the size of the grip, and then be ejected from the center of the top barrel, which by the way is right under where an optical sight might go? Same goes for the N7 Valkyrie but worse because even though there’s are dedicated insert and eject parts for the heatsink, they are in places that don’t work! The heatsink clip goes in from under the second barrel of the gun, but it’s the first barrel that fires, and the place where the clip is ejected is right under the place for the optional optical sight! And the second barrel is then supposed to be where the range finder is, but it’s close to the heatsink insertion slot… It doesn’t make sense! Please help!
This is such an excellent question, and there isn’t an easy answer. Essentially you have to choose how you want to look at it.
Mass Effect 2/3 eschew a lot of lore and hard science in the name of The Rule of Cool – which isn’t a bad design decision (even if my eye will always twitch seeing Miranda walk into vacuum with a face mask). So, what you SEE in the game just isn’t compatible with the ‘rules’ of the universe.
For instance, the optical sight you mentioned is really utterly unnecessary in a world where you have canonical smart targeting. Right from the codex:
Top-line weapons also feature smart targeting that allows them to correct for weather and environment. Firing on a target in a howling gale feels the same as it does on a calm day on a practice range. Smart targeting does not mean a bullet will automatically find the mark every time the trigger is pulled; it only makes it easier for the marksman to aim.
So, if you have targeting assist, what do you need the sight for? A manual sight is actually a step backwards technology-wise. Well, it’s in the game because it’s a modification that gives the player agency, looks cool, and adds to the gameplay.
Similarly, two of my favorite guns in the game are the Piranha and the Typhoon, the design of which make no sense from a lore standpoint. Small arms weapons in Mass Effect don’t use traditional bullets. They use an ammo block, from which an appropriate-sized projectile is shaved off the block and accelerated by magnets. Yet, the Piranha has an ammo drum and both of those weapons spit bullet casings. Why? Because look how fucking cool they are.
The animations aren’t a good thing to rely on, either, because those are also limited by game design. If you take a look at how a gun is held in a character’s hands, it sometimes looks REALLY goofy, because in Mass Effect 3, a universal gun design was used to design all the animations around. (Side note – have you ever noticed how a ME1 biotic holds their gun while casting a power? It’s wild.)
So, how do the heatsinks work? How can a universal design fit and manage heat loads from very different weapon types? Unfortunately the answer isn’t really in the game, because it didn’t really need to be. It was an in-universe explanation for a new mechanic, and the visual of it is tailored to the player: it needs to be easy to see for pickups, and it needs to facilitate gameplay, so it’s “universal.”
There is an answer here, though. A heat sink in and of itself isn’t complicated, and the laws of thermodynamics don’t change from weapon to weapon. You could think of it as kind of a PEZ dispenser. When you buy a PEZ candy roll, you get a wrapper with X number of PEZ in it that you shove into a dispenser. So, the thing that changes from weapon to weapon is how quick it goes through each candy.  A Carnifex burns through more heat per bullet than a Typhoon, so it requires more sink. And once each PEZ gets saturated with heat, it pops out of a vent.
As for where the heat sink is located on the weapon, it would have to be somewhere easy to access and change out on the fly. And sometimes, when the weapon design isn’t compatible with the lore in the first place, it’s might be hard to actually figure out where that would be. It’s a really fascinating clash between world building and game design. If you’re writing about it, you kind of have to pick and choose how you want to confront it. Do you tone down the Cool Factor in favor of the lore? Do you handwave it? Do you just…not mention the discrepancy? It’s up to you. In my case, Sam Shepard’s favorite shotgun is still the Piranha, even if the design of it doesn’t make sense. I’m just…not gonna comment on that part of it. XD

Helldivers 2 (PC)
This post comes about a week after launch, for what it's worth, in case post-launch support happens to go down foul roads (more likely due to Sony's influence)
Having dumped 28 hours into it, my biggest impressions are that Sony did Helldivers 2 fucking dirty with their advertising, it was granted justice in spite of that (1 million shifted in a hyper-busy window!) and it is a marked example (though not a perfect one!) of how to do right what all the recent live service failures do wrong
The "dual-track" battle pass-esque unlock system (one behind premium currency, of course) existing is shit, and the lack of offline play is a reminder that it will in time vanish and die, which is agonising because it's really good (especially as Helldivers 1 has offline!). But, I got the premium stuff unlocked from the stuff doled out for free within a week of normal play, so it manages its disease well. On top of the clusters of premium currency in the normal unlock pile, small pockets of it can be found in missions with no 'session limit'; if there is one, it's quite generous.
Where Helldivers 2 stands out is a mix of the good ol' Helldivers 1 "Verhoeven's Starship Troopers but we're leaning in even harder" comedy taken a bit further again, and being an actually good game. Unlike Sony's other first-party shite it's comfortable in its skin as a game and provides ample challenge with engaging mechanics, and unlike the glut of service games it's not a spreadsheet misery propagator coated head-to-toe in pointless numbers and percentages, and has actual mechanics with actual design intent behind them. It is a third-person shooter by considered choice, not because that's The Template.
On the one hand, it has comedic ragdoll physics and will send your body hurtling whenever it can, and it will also chuck around enemy bodies and make them hilariously flop in from on high after big explosions completely naturally. On the other, Helldivers 2's actual mechanics are actually a bit complex and brush up against simulator territory at times; guns in particular, for example, hit military-sim with realistic ranges and behaviours (shotguns will still hit and kill targets at 10s of metres out, ranges most others would consider sniper ranges; guns that reload by loading rounds can be fired mid-reload process, etc), you have to hold a button to check your exact ammo count as it's not on the UI, there's burst/full auto/semi-auto firing modes and adjustable scopes with a first-person view, and reloading dispenses of any unused ammo still in the mag you're discarding. It's an interesting contrast that really works, and the willingness to use such mechanics gives Helldivers 2 a real sense of character, as well as making it just plain fun and engaging unlike shite like Warner Bros' recent slop.
It's super fucking fun, alone or with friends, it perfectly continues Helldivers' special brand of chaos with its cavalier attitudes towards resources, death and players and willingness to let things spiral hard. And that's something Helldivers makes great use of: the chaotic spiral, that element some would call "emergent gameplay".
And it launched at £35 new, day 1 on PC alongside the console release, with proper cross-platform play! Not £70 with a £30 Season Pass and £15 Battle Pass on PS5 only with PC a year later on the Epic Game Store only! Miracle of miracles!

A unique feature of the Mark 20 Wrist Computer is an adapter plug attached to the underside of the device. This plug is used to perform diagnostics on power armor and mech suits. It can hack into computers. It has a lockpick module to pick the locks of doors, safes, etc. In addition, the plug is also used to gain control of robots, androids, artificial intelligences, automatons, mech suits. When wearing a power armor or mech suit the user does not interact with the wrist computer directly. Instead all the information is displayed through the suit’s integrated HUD but with a different HUD color.
This implies that the Mark 20 is capable of interfacing with power armor or mech suits onboard systems to allow access to its functionality without having to directly operate the device. It is a wrist gauntlet, wrist bracer or wrist computer. It is a piece of wrist-worn technology. It houses several technologically advanced features.  The wrist gauntlet is a small computer device worn on the wrist and features numerous controls for various items of human and alien magic and technology. It has a digitized display. The gauntlet is linked directly into a metahuman and superhuman humanoid’s combat armor, combat helmet, power armor, power armor helmet, & mecha suit and governs many of their functions.
The gauntlet also acts as a power source for these tools although it has only limited capacity and would become depleted with repeated use. However, despite the clearly advanced nature of the technology involved, the wrist gauntlet can be recharged from any common power source such as gas, steam, water, nuclear power, & electricity.
The mark 20 is the most customizable model made. It was the epitome of technology. Each instrument is individually crafted and personally attuned to its recipient. The device is so personalized to its user that it could continuously monitor and report the vital signs of its assigned wearer in real time. It was the quintessential personal data assistant complete with a magical AI modeled after a female humanoid alien and female human. Complete with its own mapping system, navigation system, radio receiver, computer, video and music player, cellphone, & personal inventory tracking software. It’s a souped-up PDA complete with DNA biometric lock.

So far, these are the enemies and boss you'll face in Greklovick.
Grek Ammo Dispenser: Like a robot vending machine that gives ammo to Grek soldiers but some were hacked and became hostile, shooting bouncing grenades that explode shortly after a while.
Scalper: Mutant creature that eats off its victims' heads. In game, if it sees the Player, it starts moving fast, able to climb/jump and attaches to your head to hurt you but you can still kill it.
Scorbrion: An alien concept I always wanted to make. It shoots an orb that splits into 4 if it gets close enough to you.
Zhark soldier: Cyborg soldier that starts off invisible/invincible until he gets close enough and shows up to shotgun blast you. If you kill him, he sets up a bomb shortly after death.
Zharkovil: First time I've implemented a boss fight and am so glad it works the way I wanted to. He moves left/right while shooting bullets from above and our main characters must reach 2 shield generators in the level (At a time, each phase) and turn them off, causing Zhark's shield to turn off and giving Yiegour an opportunity to shoot Zhark. Zhark gets some new attacks that consist of energy orbs and a variation of those that splits and have a bit longer range.

Raven, the Bomber Jet Warframe
Holy shit how long did it take me to make Raven? A whole year? Feels that way. Well better late than never, once my beloathed Raven is done I can start working on the frames I was really excited for this season! I decided to resolve to make her balancing more glass canon style with a little stealth and lots of speed to mitigate being so fragile.
Health: 180 (280 at rank 30) Shields: 180 (280 at rank 30) Armor: 135 Energy: 200 (300 at rank 30) Sprint Speed: 1.25
Passive: An aerial ace, Raven descends slower and has improved aerodynamics which can be used to control her midair movement with greater ease and agility. Raven also gains 30% chance to evade enemy attacks while airborne which is able to stack with other sources of evasion.
Ability 1: Jetstream, 25/12.5 energy. Raven's jet propulsion system generates a powerful thrust, by expending 25 energy while grounded or 12.5 energy while airborne, to soar toward the aiming reticle at a speed of 30 meters per second for 1 second. While in flight, Raven is surrounded by a cone of pressurized air with a 2 meters radius, which inflicts 750 blast damage with 100% status chance and knockdown to all enemies it contacts.
Ability 2: Silent Running, 50 energy. Raven activates her stealth systems, becoming invisible to enemies for 10 seconds. If Jetstream is used while Silent Running is active the duration timer for Silent Running is paused until Jetstream concludes.
Ability 3: Air Support: 75 energy. Deploys an explosive support pod onto the ground at the point indicated by Raven's crosshairs up to 30 meters away which falls from above. Upon landing the pod deals 750 blast damage with 100% status chance to all enemies within a 15 meter radius, and if the pod lands directly on top of an enemy that enemy will be ragdolled and pinned in place until the pod expires. 2.5 seconds after landing the support pod dispenses a universal ammo pack and a special health orb that restores up to 50 health and increases armor by 100 for the next 10 seconds. 5 seconds after landing the pod self-destructs, dealing damage with the same properties as the initial arrival blast and dropping a second universal ammo pack. Universal ammo packs from Air Support have the same value as 1 regular ammo pickup for all currently equipped weapons.
Ability 4: Carpet Bombing, toggled ability, costs 25 energy to activate, drains 5 energy per second. Immediately upon activation and every time she moves 1 meter in any direction including directly up or down while Carpet Bombing is active Raven will drop two bombs. Each of the two bombs spawns 0.5 meters to either side of Raven and are spawned with her current momentum in the direction she was moving when they were triggered. The bombs explode upon contacting any surface, object, or enemy that is not a player or an allied npc dealing 750 blast damage with 100% status chance in a 5 meter radius. Raven also gains immunity to self-knockdown while Carpet Bombing is active.
Subsumed ability: Air Support.
Signature Weapons Warthog: An auto-spooling primary rifle with high per-hit damage at the cost of slow firing and spin-up speed. Deals roughly even values of impact and puncture with a slightly higher value of slash. High status chance at the cost of below average crit chance. Pressing the alt-fire button will spin-up the weapon without the need of firing, increasing max fire rate and causing it to stay at maximum fire rate for 7.5 seconds after achieving spin-up. Alt-fire effect has an 18 second cooldown. Large magazine at the cost of a slow reload speed. As Raven's signature rifle the Warthog's alt-fire spin-up lasts for 10 seconds while in her hands. Blackbird: A fully automatic version of the Kulstar pistol that fires miniature torpedoes which detonate and fragment into 3 smaller bomblets which spread from the point of impact, also exploding on impact. To compensate for it's full-auto trigger and higher rate of fire the Blackbird's projectiles deal less damage than the Kulstar's. Deals impact damage on contact and blast damage on detonation. Moderate magazine size and reload speed for a full-auto pistol, high ammo reserves for an explosive pistol. High crit chance and critical multiplier at the cost of low status chance. As Raven's signature sidearm the Blackbird's torpedoes have a chance to spawn an additional bomblet when she wields it.
Closing Notes: THE EVIL IS DEFEATED PUBLISHED!! Honestly I spent so long worrying about her abilities and balancing and even spent like a week lamenting over stat changes and then I basically knocked out 90% of Raven in a single night. Is this a symptom of autism? Well anyways I bet exactly five of you will be thrilled to finally see a new Bad Warframe. No idea if I'll be releasing the next one before the end of the year but depending on which one it is I might be very excited to work on them... Monarch is next. Fuck yes.

i really want a heavy primary that rewards accurate aim/tracking with higher damage. i know the tomislav exists but the actual damage it does in comparison to stock depends on your range and also it only does slightly less/more than stock. the real thing that makes the tomislav a direct upgrade (imo) are the faster and silent rev. what i want is basically a direct hit/dragon's fury but for heavy
it doesn't have to be single-fire like the direct hit, but if not that then ideally it would at least have a sort of "overheat" function so people can't just hold m1 down hallways until their ammo runs out. i'd also like it to have a slightly faster rev than stock, maybe not as fast as the tomislav but i enjoy being able to react to things quickly. the silent rev should stay as the tomislav's niche though, and for this hypothetical weapon i think the rev should be loud as fuck. if it does more damage then people should at least know that there's a heavy nearby that will obliterate them if their tracking is on point. damage falloff should also be similar to stock (or even worse tbh) because again i wouldn't want people just standing next to a dispenser and firing it down a hallway forever like some kind of weird sniper.
if you're wondering why i want a minigun that does more damage when all miniguns already do a lot of damage my answers are that a) im evil and b) the brass beast is the only minigun that does the "more damage" thing but is also not very fun to use because i don't like playing heavy as a weird sentry gun

One thing you'll hear firearms nerds say, referring to some little device a character uses to reload a gun, is "it's not a clip, it's a magazine."
I think it's a fairly pedantic nitpick, usually not worth correcting in casual conversation -- but I thought it'd be fun to make a post about it, for people who are actually curious.
Easiest way to tell the difference: If the bullets are exposed and clipped onto/into a piece of metal, that's a clip. If the bullets are completely encased in a box or tube or other shape of container, that's a magazine.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The things on the left are clips. The things on the right are magazines.
Why I think it's totally reasonable to get them confused: There's mechanical differences between the two, but from the point of view of the person actually using the firearm, they're the same thing: you put the bullets in the thing, and you put the thing in the gun.
In casual conversation, if someone calls a magazine a "clip," even if it's technically incorrect, everybody still knows what they mean. It's not like people get confused and think they're secretly an M1 Garand in a trench coat or something.
OK but what's the actual difference? Putting this part below a cut because I couldn't find a way to explain it quickly - but I think it's neat!
For starters, a magazine is the part of the gun that holds ammunition, then feeds it into the gun's chamber to be fired. All repeating firearms (any gun that can fire more than once before it needs to be manually reloaded) has some kind of magazine.
Some have internal magazines, which is a permanent "holding area" inside the gun that stores ammo. It usually has some kind of spring inside it that pushes the next round into position after one is fired -- think PEZ dispensers, it's the same concept. Typically you can load an internal magazine manually by pushing ammo cartridges into it one at a time.
This is where clips come in. Clips hold ammo together to make it faster and easier to load an internal magazine - instead of pushing the bullets in one a a time, you can shove them in all at once.
Instead of clips, most modern firearms have detachable magazines. The whole magazine (including the spring mechanism used to feed ammo) is detachable and contained in a convenient little box or tube.
Tumblr media
Magazines (the detachable kind) are a lot more convenient - easier to load, easier to store, and they keep ammo in better condition.
So that's the technical difference: clips hold ammo together to facilitate loading a magazine. Magazines hold ammo, and also feed that ammo into the chamber.
If magazines are more common why does everyone call them "clips?" Most likely because of WWII. Detachable magazines existed but were more expensive and complicated to manufacture, so standard issue rifles for US soldiers were mostly ones that used clips.
Thanks to that, soldiers and everyone else just got used to calling the thing you shove into a gun to reload it a "clip," and it stuck.
What about revolvers? Revolvers are a different animal of a gun (and they predate magazines)!
OK so the chamber is basically the spot at the back of a gun's barrel where a cartridge sits when it's ready to be fired.
Other repeating firearms have a single chamber. After firing, the casing is ejected from the chamber (emptying it out), and the magazine pushes the next round into the chamber.
Revolvers instead use a cylinder that has multiple chambers in it. Each chamber holds one cartridge. After firing, the cylinder turns, moving the used chamber away and putting the next chamber into position behind the barrel.
So revolvers do not have magazines - but I think you could argue that the cylinder serves a similar purpose to one.
Tumblr media
...but interestingly, revolvers can have clips! They're called moon or half-moon clips, designed to hold a full or half cylinder's worth of cartridges to make loading faster.
(Photos via Wikipedia, links to articles with more info sprinkled throughout)
I tried to keep this simple enough to be approachable by people who don't know a whole lot about guns. Polite corrections are welcome, but I'm already aware that there are exceptions and edge cases. I didn't get into those on purpose - thanks!

oh!! since i just rbd that post about him tell me more about cannibal engiee! -if not him then maybe ramble about pyroland engiee? [also hiiiiii hii dell i hope u are doing well today!! ^o^/] -plushpyro
HIII HELLOOO YES YES AH'LL LUV TO TALK ABOUT THEM!!!!!; ← is going to talk about both of them //& ah hope u havin a gud time too!!!
cannibal engineer (he/they for now) <3
okay this man. his team was starving to death because of the shipment of supplies stop being sent to the base & well. things were running out.
so, starved & sleep deprivation from trying to get in contact with their superiors, dove out into the New Mexico Dessert & basically tried to get to Teufort. unfortunately? he didn't get there. he did, however, get to a little house out in the middle of nowhere.
so, with his car ALSO running out of gas, he pulled up & ended up asking the couple that lived in the house for food.
he was.. unfortunately declined. something about.. well, he doesn't remember. what he does remember, however, was blood on his hands & the couple's bodies still warm. an horrific idea popped into his head after raiding the whole house for supplies, which. wasn't a lot. so, with the memories of the slaughterhouse that his father runs, he.. took care of the bodies. took the meat, all of it that's on the body, kept it cool so it wouldn't rot. changed clothes. burnt everything down when he had everything of importance out, so no one would know.
when he's back to the base, with new gas that he stole, his body went on autopilot. he put everything away, barely registering the questions that his teammates had, lying through everything, & started cooking. he was .. a little spacey. almost burnt something on the stove when Heavy decided that, yeah he needs help cooking.
so everyone was fed that day. they thanked him, they thanked him when they didn't even know who they just ate. & he didn't tell them. he couldn't. he can't. he can't he can't he just can't.
- he's heavily fucked from this. he may or may not ate a bit of the bodies before actually cutting them up. so there's the fuckery from that too.
- he used to love meat. now everytime he thinks of it, he can only sees his victims' faces before they die.
- Spy has suspicions. she will figure it out at some point.
- Engie kills on the daily now. mostly to fed his team. goes out & finds whatever town that's out there & just.. "borrows" some of their residents.
- likes roses <3
Pyroland (they/them, fine with he/him) go brr my beloved
- loves, LOVES stickers. will stick them to everything & everyone.
- is besties with their Pyro & close to their Soldier. Pyro because of their shared Pyroland Vision, Soldier because he was with them in the Respawn Limbo.
- Pyro (any/all) is sorta like their caretaker. it looks after Engie whenever they're around & they hang around her a lot. Pyro is more aware of what's not food & so it makes sure that they don't break their teeth trying to eat a wrench.
- Soldier (he/him for now) is close friends with Engie. they love eachother in a way that they know what they've been through & doesn't want eachother to be alone in it. goes to eachother whenever they remember things.
- eyes turn from hearts to white dots whenever gets snapped out of their Pyroland state/when traumatic memories start resurfacing. Respawn is not to be talked about around them. same with discussions of the Aftermath of Death. they have seen it. there was nothing.
- still fights. is just more brutal with it. yes they're very aware that they're killing, yes they enjoy it, yes they know it's their job.
- loves sweets!!! mostly lollipops & gummies. they have built gummy sentries too :3 working on a Dispenser that gives gummies as well as heals & ammo.
- everyone on their team now wears pink. because it's funny.
oughh.. feel free to ask more!!!!! ah luv them sm & would love to work on them more
